just watched the tunnel to summer the exit of goodbyes (SPOILERS under da cut)
i think the romance buildup was okay. since they introduced the scifi elements of the tunnel i wish there was a better buildup or explanation about the tunnel. i just have a theory that you can only physically hold and take out things that 1) you've lost and 2) still exist in the world. like once kaoru got to the door it felt like they were in a supernatural space and time since his sister is dead she cant leave that space. idk i just wanted closure for why the sister couldnt come with him LOL also the age gap at the end made me uncomfy but whatever i think it's crazy anzu kept thinking about him and updating him it's cute (my heart jumped when the text about their hs graduation) but i could not suspend my disbelief towards the end bc it was getting rly cliche. oH my fav part was the sunflower scene where kaoru is silly and anzu's like this is completely out of your character like LMAO YEAH. also i liked when kaoru gets a panic attack and throws up after his dad tells him he's going to remarry and move to tokyo. tbh i didnt expect anzu's character to be as fleshed out as it was i did not at all predict her motivations for wanting to go through the tunnel. at first i thought her parents died tragically and she'd want to get them too but after the aquarium scene and kaoru told her about his dead sister and she didnt say anything in response i starting thinking mb anzu just wants to be the sacrifice for kaoru to get his sister like a life for a life sort of deal LOL. then the manga arc backstory thing happened and i was like ohhh. anyway i saw that theres a ln and manga that the movie was adapted from and i dont think i'll read it since i'm not too crazy about the characters or romance or anything. im satisfied w my theories to serve as personal closure LOL

i love madoka magica however i dont think we as a fandom talk enough about how tragic madoka herself is. probably because the narrative itself steers you away from thinking about her personally. shes not a character shes a desire that homura has, shes a force of good, shes homura's foil. but those are all madoka's narrative roles but madoka herself as a person is not really looked at because we are viewing this world from an unreliable narrator(homura) who only sees madoka as those things. The best thing homura could have done for madoka was give up on her, to let her go. because every time we go back in time the image of madoka is distorted, she loses more of herself every regression of homura's as she tries harder and harder to save her. We don't even know what madoka originally wished for to become a magical girl in the original timeline. and she actually acts quite differently than the madoka we meet. shes a lot more honest and caring and bold. by the time homura's has reached the actual anime madoka has been reduced by the sands of time to a figment of herself. she has no wants or desires of her own beyond wanting to do good and help her friends and when all her humanity is stripped away is when she finally acends to godhood because thats all thats left of her. an ideal and a faith in her. madoka kaname died a long time ago and all that is left is her ghost.
#of course homura doesnt care anymore because she cant go back she can only go forward cuz if she gives up she killed madoka for nothing#she could have left her pass away with dignity but now shes a ghost stuck in a web of time and the only thing she can do is keep trying#to save her#i feel like inately homura knows this but she doesnt want to admit to herself thats shes the real one who killed madoka kaname#this is a very charitable reading of homura#homura died too but its a clear moment because homura is our narrator#homura akemi will never come back madoka kaname will never come back#but life goes on anyway for homura#heres my truth#i loved rebellion but im actually a bigger fan of the original anime's ending so im glad it seems like red ribbon homu is coming back#i thought that ending was a lot more hopeful and beautiful and rebellion was kind of a downer but i always accepted they were parallel#and seems im right based on posters#for walpurgis#madoka uses one of my favorite literary devices which is the underuse of a character#i dont know whats it called but i love it when they dont outright develop a character usually to signal an upholding of the status quo#i already explained how madoka is not shown as a character but they do this in princess tutu too with mytho#mytho is a character from a book hes not real in the way that the others are and therefore cant actually change like the others can#hes always the focus of others and never the one thinking of others#i mean yeah he spends like the whole anime thinking about tutu but thats PART of his book its not him as a person#anyway ive been talking too much but i wanna bring up my favorite subtle use of this in takopi's original sin#the boy#idk his name rn lmao#hes straight up not present for the bulk of the manga and hes legit just absent from the ending scene despite being one point of a triangle#at first that weirded me out like??? he doesnt get closure???#but the reason was he didnt need it#the focus and moral is that those girls were 'weird' unable to be normal (because of trauma) and their closure was theyre at least together#but he doesnt need that because hes already normal hes the status quo a benchmark for the reader for the reader to judge the characters off#and the characters to judge eachother off of#anyway anyway sorry this has been so long#i had to get all of that out of me

I feel like an ass for saying this, but outside of Sukuna and Yuuji i dont really think the other characters are interesting. Yeah MAYBE Geto but thats also just the most indeoth character gege has wrote. Otherwise everyone single other character is just overtly simple or a jackass.
I mean shit, the world building is so lackluster. Theres a lot that looks like it was written on the fly and no real thought put into it sometimes. Hell theres timess where plot devices feel like they got put on a backburner and forgotten. Shit some deaths felt unessacary (gestures to the fhcking female cats)
And noboara? Dont get me started her staying dead would have been amazing to help yuuji grow!
Nope, shes back. Its the fucking fairy tail death situation all over again.
Also, in the new chapter im NOT happy with how gege handled Yuuta. So anticlimactic...
Im just.... im really upset over this because you can tell a lot of this was halfassed and forced.
Also fuck RCT. Brings back people feom the dead but you cant bring baxk anyone else? What the fuck is going on. Im not excited for the mangas ending at all...
i feel you, anon. sorry for the late reply btw.
don't feel bad about sharing your opinions. i agree with you on them. i feel like a LOT of the characters are either underdeveloped or simply not as interesting as they could have been. i feel bad because i think gege is experiencing a lot of pressure since this is their first official and long-running series and it became really popular. i think they might not have as much experience as some other mangaka or maybe just they rush or don't fully plan things out? i'm just speculating so i hope i don't seem cruel-hearted in saying as much.
and i agree a lot of the plot seems too sudden and not fully fleshed out. i often cannot even keep track of the technical stuff and details bc new stuff is always being added and i think i've even found some contradictions and unexplained stuff that doesn't really make sense.
overall, jjk isn't as well-written as it maybe could have been, and i'm saying this objectively. i think gege loses sight of the story a lot of the time and sometimes pulls plot developments that don't make much sense as a way to speed things up.
nobara coming back could have been handled much differently for example. as much as i do agree that her death could have served yuuji's arc well, i think she deserved better than being killed off so suddenly. she shouldn't have been killed off at all. or if she was brought back sooner it wouldn't feel so fairy tale unrealistic.
and i also find yuta a bad replacement for yuuji and just kind of boring honestly. he's like gojo 2.0 in terms of character-building only gege adores him this time.
i'm also not understand the full extent of rct. maybe i'm missing something?
idk anon. you're right on a lot of this. thankfully the manga will be ending soon, and there's a chance that someone other than gege will be continuing it, so maybe better developments and more closure will be giving to us?
idk, no disrespect to gege but im honestly not sure what kind of story im reading any more.

I like how you randomly appeared on my fy, checked out your art, read some of your AU and was like "yes,a person of quality.Mhm." *cutely follows*.
You are now obliged to share more of this (/nm) because this Au will now be on my mind for at least a month
“A PERSON OF QUALITY” M CRYIIINGGG SJDJKSSJ THANKS
Im actually just a silly person that didn’t like the ending of their hyperfixation so i said “mm no pass me the pencil”
Haven’t been able to draw much but i do have some loose ideas and info
I find interesting that without the last time travel in canon absolutely EVERYTHING would’ve have gone downhill, like normally in the past time travels takemichi did there was always a good change, something good that happened, like kazutora’s survival in Valhalla vs Toman, that even if the future ended up worse, that change was still something valuable.
In Kanto vs Toman this gets completely erased, there’s literally no way out of a bad ending, three people died with absolutely no recompense, because the future staying exactly the same as bonten TL, Mikey being far away from everyone, but with three more dead people.
Takemichi dies and all turn into this in the matter of a week
Tumblr media
That’s kind of what dragged me to think about this, am i being redundant??? Also i felt the necessity of exploring more Mikey’s mental health through the manga, which was heavenly implied and tried to give it a little of closure, which was something that i really wanted.
Now, there IS in fact a last time travel in this AU, but unlike canon, they don’t go back to the beginning beginning. Mikey travels back to this exact moment
Tumblr media
I think that the time capsule moment was a very nice point to travel to, idk how to write a coherent paragraph so lemme just do it like this:
- Characters who’s death ate important to other characters development remain dead (shinichiro, baji, emma, izana) THAT ALTHOUGH IT HURTS ME SO MUCH, i didn’t like that everyone suddenly revived
- here is when Mikey starts to get actual fucking help LMAO, like while they were burying the time capsule, Mikey already knew what he was end of being, he literally planned a twelve-year-long su!cide at that moment. So i think that for the final TL to get a happy (as much as it can) ending is taking that plan back and actually start a healing journey with everything that has happened am i overthinking too much?
- ANYWAY, imma be fully transparent, i don’t know when exactly Mikey travels back, I know that he’s the time traveler because of michi giving him the power before dying, and Kazutora is the trigger. But idk if make him travel back the day Kazutora gets released from jail or before (still gonna keep him some good years behind bars tho)
NOW I CAN START WITH SILLY STUFF
- Theres a stray cat that lives in the prison called Arepa, all the prisoners know her
- Kazutora is REALLY well behaved in prison, and he has some privileges bc if that of course, Mikey thinks that’s a lie and that he actually sucked off some guard to have said benefits
-on the other side, Mikey is completely unstable, one day he can be rotting inside his sell not giving a fuck about anyone, and the other he can be fighting to death with another inmate
-he has been in solitary confinement more than once
- Kazutora receives letters from chifuyu every now and then, Mikey received a lot from Sanzu and even one from koko but he never answered, he wants to be forgotten just like in Bonten TL
-Chifuyu testified in Mikey’s trial, he also visited him once, that conversation is very well daydreamed in my head kakdjsksjjs
- There’s a good amount of mental health talk in this AU bc of course that Mikey and Kazutora in the same room was a great idea of me, so if you’re sensitive to that be careful 💙
-right now I’m drawing a little comic about Sanzu and Senju but i just have the sketch for now forgive my sins, and there’s actually a lot of panels and convos i have already like completely finished in my head, like when Mikey travels back? That’s COMPLETELY planned already jajdjsjsj im just slow
That’s all I think???? (It’s totally not but if I remember something ill post it or edit this)
Lemme know your thoughts before i consider myself cringe and delete all this text ISJDJDJSJJSJS

Warning discussion of the recent JJK manga chapters and previous arcs. MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD (and I’m sorry idk how to do the read more thing on here)
I’m dissatisfied and worried by this weeks chapter of JJK. The sentiment of “I like it when a character steals the show” is one thing, but just having a character take center stage out of the blue is a different story. I’ve been burned before so I hope it doesn’t end up like this, but I’m worried this is going to turn out like the last season of Game of Thrones. Like you do all this plot and character development and then abandon it at the last moment just to defy expectations which ultimately just makes your story worse. In this case I don’t think it’s about defying expectations intentionally, but I think Gege just genuinely hates Gojo so much that they’re nerfing the story. From my perspective, JJK has always been Gojo’s story. Like he’s not the protagonist but he’s the central character to the narrative. His relationship with Suguru, and now with the shade of Suguru that is Kenjaku, is what made all of this possible because of the Star plasma vessel mission. I genuinely don’t think that Gojo should have been brought back yet or at least that he shouldn’t have fought Sukuna. I kind of think the manga would be better if he never fought Sukuna now or any other time. I hope this fight is good, at this point anything could happen and I’ll keep my fingers crossed that I’ll like it, but I’m not excited for it. In fact I’m kind of angry because to me this should be Gojo’s fight. It still could be who freaking knows at this point, but to me this should be Gojo trying to reclaim Suguru’s body and finally give him rest and have closure for himself. Like I know I’m insane for Gojo but I also just genuinely think that’s what would be most narratively satisfying. Which would make Sukuna a fight for Yuji and the Jujutsu tech kids. I don’t know if that one would hold up in court but I’ll stand by the Gojo stuff. I don’t know, I just hate to see potential go to waste and it’s starting to feel more and more like that’s where JJK is heading. I genuinely, desperately hope not. But I’ve been hoping they’d say sike for months now and it feels less and less likely each week.
Watching the anime makes it even worse because there are so many moments that could pay off so well or lead to excellent parallels that just… haven’t. They still could, but with Gojo “dead” and showing no signs of return, Megumi in Sukuna purgatory, nobara in eyeball purgatory, so many characters forgotten off screen, and Yuji just having no screen time I’m just having trouble staying invested. Gege made me care for these guys!! And for the potential of a plot with them facing what Kenjaku had planned!! But the culling game was so weird and confusing and what’s happening now feels like they’re pulling at straws!! Like did they just not have it planned out this far?? Ouhg. Like I said I hope I’m wrong, I’d love to be wrong. I just needed to vent about this because the Shibuya arc is genuinely an excellent piece of writing. It’s devastating and sets up so much room for potential consequences and growth. And, so far at least, the results have not met up to that excellent set up. I wish them the best and I hope they stick the landing, but I’m not nearly as excited or invested as I once was.

Sooo how you feeling about the ending of AOT. I’m crying when I read the final chapter.
+
Anonymous said:
Ryu, ryu. 139. Not gonna lie, I was kinda disappointed. It was too vanilla ice cream of an ending for a masterpiece storytelling of AoT. Can't believe this is from the same person who wrote 125ish chapter before. I honestly kinda want to see Historia nuke the ship lol. Your thoughts?
Anonymous said:
Do you think the ending of aot was done like this for pure fanservice?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sooo let’s talk about the last chapter. Like I mentioned in another reply, it would’ve been good to reread the whole manga first, but I don’t think we’re going to do that in the nearest future, so might as well rant about it now.
The ending was weird. When we read it for the first time, we chuckled at some parts, but overall it felt pretty ok (more on the “meh alright” level). And I personally still think that it’s alright overall: not the worst ending ever; and a lot of aspects of it do make sense. In this particular case, we think it’s better to have an “eh” ending than a bad, disappointing one (the one that hits all the major no-no’s, disappointing in this regard more than anything else). But the more we think about it, the weirder it gets somehow?
Of course we talked about how cool it would be to get a morbid dark ending, but it was kind of a given that Isayama would go a lighter route. And one part of me thinks that it’s kind of fair, because we had our morbid chapters and the story’s climax already, so this chapter was more like an epilogue of sorts?? But at the same time, I do agree that it felt too vanilla ice-cream. The mood shift was too drastic, and everything felt too convenient. The fact that everyone who turned into titans went right back to being humans kind of upset me too, but I do understand why it happened, I just wish we had them being titans at least for a little bit longer. I guess what I’m trying to say is that the ending indeed felt rushed. Maybe Isayama cursed himself when he promised 139 chapters…. Why not 140?? I wonder whose fault that is: the fanbase’s, the editor’s or his own.
The epilogue’s also supposed to give readers some closure, and I’m not sure if we got it: Eren’s actions didn’t really fix the problem. Maybe the point was not in fixing the problem, but in being the first step for the change? Now after all that rumbling debacle, the world can at least listen to what Eldians have to say..? Why the fuck does Armin talk about how conflict’s never going to vanish then? I’m a bit lost here. Oh and of course Armin thanking Eren for murdering 80% of the planet is the funniest thing ever. All of it might make more sense if you reread the whole thing though.
Who knows. Maybe Historia decided to conquer the world, maybe she wants to rule everything, maybe she keeps Jean and Connie’s moms hostage, maybe she is going to nuke that darn ship to show the world that Eldians don’t want to have a peaceful conversation anymore lol, Historia the Khaleesi.
There are elements of the chapter that we genuinely enjoyed. The fact that Eren actually talked to everybody, Gabi yeeting Falco instead of hugging him, Levi remembering his friends and crying quietly, Sasha smiling at Jean and Connie and these two hugging each other afterwards. Reiner and Karina’s scene was pretty nice too. Historia making her child the saddest birthday cake ever… like you’re a fucking queen, make something more pretentious idk... Hitch yawning, Rico being present, everyone being all fancy and stylish, Jean trying his best to look hot. And of course Levi chilling with his new family. As you can see, there are a lot of very nice moments there. Even the Eren scenes were fun to be perfectly honest, but more on him in another post.
And to the Anon who asked about the ending being fanservice: maybe kind of? If by fanservice you mean the fact that everything went kind of well and everyone got to hug their dad and turned back to humans, then yeah, it does feel like fanservice. Remember that story about Isayama wanting to kill off Sasha waaay back in ch36 but changing his plans because his editor was too upset about it? A similar thing happened here I guess: he did say that he had more of a dark ending in his mind, but had to change it.
When I hear the word “fanservice”, I personally think about Naruto’s and Bleach’s endings, but in SnK we didn’t get any kids (except for Historia’s baby), any kisses and any hand-holdings, so I’m very grateful for that. Yep, technically AruAni is still a thing (eyesroll…), but at this point I just sit there and repeat a mantra to myself: thank god none of them had kids or got married, thank god none of them had kids or got married, thank god none of them had kids or got married. Maybe my bar is too low lol And if you mean the Eremika thing: it’s kind of complicated, but I personally think that Yams wouldn’t  drop this bomb as fanservice: it doesn’t make sense to cater to just one particular group of shippers.
So yeah, this is our overall thoughts and feelings at this moment. And to be perfectly honest, I think the chapter won’t feel as bad after some time. Right now everyone’s very emotional about it (very understandable), people argue with each other, you see a lot of morons that make you even more upset or pissed off, everyone had their expectations and interpretations of the characters + ideas of what was and wasn’t important for the story, and Isayama is just one dude who is very experienced at writing stories, but isn’t as experienced at writing final chapters (which is absolutely ok). I think no matter what, there would be a lot of people who are upset with the chapter… but it doesn’t change the fact that it was rushed and that it is weird.
Damn it, wouldn’t it be great if we could have GOOD and BAD endings, like in visual novels?? This was the GOOD ending; now show me the apocalypse please.

Why do you think the sexism in DN was more Ambiguous compared to Bakuman and PE? Like hell I didn't notice a single bit of it when I first watched it? I didn't saw anything sexist about it until a friend pointed it out to me? Did you noticed it when you first watched it? When did you learn about the authors sexism? Is Death Note the most or atleast one of the most sexist stories, or are there much worse offenders and if so name one (doesn't have to be a anime/manga).
Haha, no I don't think I noticed it as much the first time I watched DN (probably way back in 2007 or so)? I remember that whenever I discussed it with my first fandom friend she really hated the way the female characters get the raw end of the deal in the series though, and her thoughtful views on the subject made me think about it a bit more. I wasn't much of a critical thinker or as life-experienced at that age, and I probably had a lot of internalized misogyny to work through from all the media I'd taken in that reinforced similar negative stereotypical ideas about women and girls. It was a little more obvious to me upon my second time around with DN in my 20s, but reading Bakuman and Platinum End was what really made me raise my eyebrows and shake my head at Ohba's more dated, lazy and offensive views.
I've answered an ask about this before, but I think that Ohba’s sexism is harder to spot in Death Note than a story like Bakuman because it actually works really well with the themes Death Note introduces. It’s a cruel world where people’s vulnerabilities and trust are constantly used against them, so it comes off less edgy and misogynistic to have the characters sneering about sentimental attachments and being trusting and romantic and such (emotional vulnerabilities that Ohba seems to mostly see as "feminine," and therefore also synonymous with "weak.") The female characters aren't the only ones getting mocked and degraded by the other ones around them in DN, but they're never the ones put on the pedestals for being super brainy and capable, either. If they are ever complimented on these things, it's never without also adding remarks about their actual stupidity and foolishness and innate inferiority because of their gender. This little barb about Naomi is a good example:
Tumblr media
"...with unusual speed for a woman" 🙄
I think one of the ways this could’ve been improved upon in canon is making at least one of the genius characters a girl; that would’ve shown that high intelligence isn’t something only men can have, and that not all women are motivated by lust or love and easily duped and overpowered because they are always inherently inferior to men somehow. It’s not like being romantically motivated or attracted to men are bad and/or unrealistic motivations for female characters, either. But it’s annoying when that seems to be almost always the only/main motive the vast majority of the female characters have, and how they’re also often objectified and depicted as inherently less intelligent, gullible, and weak. The surviving women are never mentioned or shown again at the end of the story to give the audience any closure about them either, even in the epilogue. Which to me suggests that Ohba didn't consider any of them to be as important to the narrative as the men.
And no, I wouldn't say Death Note is the worst and most sexist of all stories out there 😅 The sexism is an annoying and grating aspect of an overall enjoyable read for me, particularly because I'm part of the demographic being misrepresented and mocked in the story so much. But it's unfortunately extremely common to find this kind of thing in fiction, especially in more dated fiction and stories that are written by men and targeted towards primarily male audiences. Death Note was originally intended to be read mostly by teenage boys, and things that are aimed at a certain audience are more concerned with being relatable and appealing to the target demographic above all.
A good example of a series that has similarly annoying sexist aspects to it is the old James Bond movies starring Sean Connery. The female characters in those are usually very one-dimensional, fairly brainless in comparison to the men, and mainly just put there to be eye candy for the audience. They are very easily seduced by Bond despite him being quite an arrogant asshole to them most of the time, and they're named ridiculous things like "Pussy Galore." 😆 These movies (and probably the books, but idk) are very much aimed at straight men; and from what I've seen of the reviews men are less likely to find all of this annoying and unrealistic at first glance than the women watching them and attempting to find a relatable woman to root for amongst the characters onscreen.

Ajin ch 86 thoughts
Okay, it’s been a little bit! Thoughts and spoilers under the cut! (Warning, this is very long)
Writing this in a word doc because a) I don’t want to risk going on tumblr and b) I don’t want to risk the post getting deleted in the middle  [note from the end: this ended up being four pages long in a Word document, so I’m sorry]
Ahhhh, last time buying the digital magazine ><    Until... if... Sakurai starts publishing something new...
It seems kind of unfair not to have Ajin be the cover feature if it’s ending DX I guess they’re just starting with a new series, though. Is that how that works? (It has a main character with white hair so I might be interested...) It’s at the beginning of the mag.
Okay, yeah, pages 111-175.  Aggghhhh I’ve always put off reading the end of series, but I think this is the first one I’ve been up to date with when it actually ended. Promised Neverland was close.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
ooh completely new characters...?????? whoops overshot the starting page by a few ughhhh it’s definitely the last one... I mean we knew that, but still..... OMG NO IT’S IZUMI AND TANAKA ISN’T IT??    jeez woah  I can’t wait to hear other readers’ reactions    [edit: yes this was about clover, and she recorded her reaction, which was beautiful ;u;] also omg they’re at least appearing together
omg Sakurai’s author’s note: “It’s very cold, isn’t it. Everyone, I hope you don’t catch a cold.”       YOU’RE NOT EVEN GOING TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT’S ENDING?
okay, so at least some time skip Tanaka: New identity, who dis Ooh, Izumi called Tanaka “anta” – the rude/familiar version of ‘you’, rather than the polite one. Honestly I don’t remember but it’s probably what she called him previously. And then turns around and called him anata the next page X’D  Okay, I’m glad that not being consistent is okay in Japanese, I always worry/wonder about that ooooh so Tanaka doesn’t have a new identity YET. I wonder how long it’s been?? omg Tosaki prepared it??    Was he thinking that far ahead? Or is he not dead....   ???  okay so he made it ahead of time     oh, and Izumi was the one who asked him for it??? Oh wow, Izumi has yet another change of identity. I wonder if she’s back to (omggg I forget D: her original name... Tainaka [hah]) Also another great shot emphasizing their height difference X’) lmaoooo I always love when there manages to be some humor oh, they’re only about three years apart! I wonder if that helps pin down the timeline at all??
Aw, Izumi still respects Tosaki lmao  “I’m going home.” “You really have places to be?”  Oh I guess that wasn’t quite it- she really was wondering if he was had a living location... so he has been kinda on the run ><    [Sakurai. Sakurai, happy ending. There is, right? Right?]
Oh dude I really didn’t think we’d get any resolution on that ship and like, idk if this counts as resolution but it sure looks like it does right now okay I’m really sorry but part of me is like ///we’re using so many of the remaining pages on this///  although oh I guess it’s only been 10 pages... it feels like so many since the chapters have been so short lately...
heyyyyy  I mean we kinda knew the U.S. ajin would be back or else what was the point of introducing them Ogura not being dead at the end of the series is extremely impressive (also hopefully Kai :prayer hands:  as in I think he survived) so Ogura didn’t tell them he was coming back huh ... with the crew??? :eyes emoji: lmao AND they thought he was dead, I’m cackling oh okay so they had heard he wasn’t dead the close up of Jim’s face reminds of Kai somehow I guess this manga isn’t so long (and the U.S. ajin left enough of an impression) that at least we’re not like WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE “I’ll kill you!!” “Go ahead!!”  HA Winnn I think the people in this series need to get their idea of ‘fun’ checked I don’t really understand what he says in the bubble after that... I’ll have to check the English did he like, metaphorically die because he’s out of FKs? I’m not up on my cigarette brands enough to know if that’s an FK or not... I think it’s what the brand turned into...? oh no what’s this omg    is it gonna be Kai? Are they all gonna be in there? Kotobuki??   also this is already super sad that not everyone got out of jail free... unless they did and I’ll see... but also it’s realistic so all for the best I guess?  i have no idea OH HA I thought it was the juvenile detention center but it’s Takahashi !  o_o not entirely sure I understand what Takahashi says to the guard either at least everyone’s having... fun??? KAI KAI KAI    gahhhh this looks exactly like how ch 69 started and agh they’re both in juvie but ahhhhh they’re together??         I’m already scared to read and actually find out –o- oh wait they have dates to get out!  and they said plural ‘we’ “That was fast”  I feel like that panel represents what this chapter means to me somehow lmao they just want them to be not their problem anymore... that really wraps it up nicely, hilariously, and realistically I’m glad I’m not translating this because there are really a couple lines where I don’t completely understand them “something happened that day”  um, yeah WOW I did NOT think we were going to get an answer to whether Kai was an ajin now or not, but I feel like that definitively answers that question?????     also that’s terribly funny HE DOESN’T EVEN KNOW KEI REVIVED HIM??       -punches a wall-  Kai’s whole personality is  ‘I don’t really remember that happening’  >_____________________________> Kei... gave Kai a reason to live... because he almost died...?      I still kinda have faith in this wrapping up well but GOD Kai is not a character to invest all your emotion into, laughs cryingly Kotobuki: “You literally never make any sense, man.” oh no “ano natsu” GAH
I just realized that this almost certainly means Kai and Kou never met. There isn’t enough keysmashing in the world to express my desire to throw my laptop at a wall right now
In no way shape or form did I ever expect to get closure on Akiyama, even on him getting out of the barrel
Manabe definitely stole whatever it is he’s holding but it was probably some kind of personal effects...?  [my powers of prediction suck most of the time] he really looks beat up now ;u; Izukyū-Shimoda... Win, that’s not where you traveled, is it?  Maybe I saw it on the Sunday NHK travel program... but it’s also the end of the train line and has ferries going out into the ocean islands.  Is he getting away, or going home.......? or to Hirasawa or something...?
well that was an extremely abrupt shift are they really shooting Satou up into space they’re not using him as a test subject are they that sounds like an even more awful idea than I ever could have come up with okay... oh jeez can we please please not have Satou be Captain America you just KNOW he’s going to make trouble again, ,, , , ,!!
oh jeez Eriko! I didn’t expect to see her but it’s nice! it’s really sinking in that that’s all the closure we’re going to get on Kai isn’t it Eriko tsundere as if that needed confirmed okay cool, so she’s out of the hospital (for now)
It does seem appropriate? Likely? That Kei didn’t go home. WE BETTER SEE KOU THIS CHAPTER oh, it’s fall   (or winter? Izumi said it was cold...) oh phew
Sakurai said RIP KeiKai shippers I guess....  but they still influenced each other so that’s still shippable even though they’re not together?  sigh not everything is so straightforward and I guess it’s good it reflects that
Kei looks happy enough was Kei working a blue collar job with Kou or something? That’s 100% unexpected Kou adorable omg what is his new name gonna be Also ;-; so they’ve giving ajin rights but everyone’s still staying undercover...? or Kou isn’t I guess, that’s sweet oh wow we admit Tosaki’s great     I guess last chapter’s statement that they found his remains must have settled whether he’s alive or not ‘iroiro atta na’  YOU THINK    also pretty sure that’s Kai’s line from the drama CD what’s with that Kei face??? OMG PERF       also that is scarily close to what I wrote in a fic, but also pretty much to be expected crap I guess at least Tanaka and Izumi are with each other? KAI’S MOON JACKET   WITH THE SMILIE       we really messed up characterizing Kai as the sun haha he’s out he’s out he’s out is he going to meet someone literally zooming out on everyone (like at the end of last chapter too) is kinda messing with me Like they’re still around and doing stuff but we aren’t (don’t get to) watch them anymore Kou saying ‘let’s all meet again’... my heart is warm ;0; LMAO
we can at least rest assured that everyone stayed in character
I can’t I can’t I can’t  [note, this was when I thought Kei saying ‘nah’ was the last page]
O MM FRICKING GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
omg Sakurai you’ve done it again bwahahaah a coworker hit him and is like ‘oh cool fine nevermind’ this is WAY more hilarious than I was expecting for this chapter How do I always forget that Ajin has so much comedy not remembering what page number the chapter ends on is nice
Tankobon releases May 7th in Japan Elizaaaaaa Kei’s got a Shion coat
alright uh well I guess that’s good, in a way, we still get to imagine whatever we want
Finishing it hasn’t sunk in yet, I’ve have to get back to you on that one.

Ask Explosion #9:
Asks answering previous posts:
Tumblr media
Sabrina, I have one word of advice for you...
R U N
Tumblr media
“Chat, please stop talking.”
“But that’s my thing!”
“YOU JINX EVERYTHING!!”
Tumblr media
Ayyyyyy~
Well, it’s something, I suppose?
Tumblr media
Answered this here.
Tumblr media
It absolutely did. Bless you, kind and hilarious citizien. ;P
Tumblr media
I’m torn because... on one hand, I want to give proper mythology and such for like--anything that’d be put into the show, but on the other, I liked the idea that Alix’s brother was just sort of a conspiracy who thought of stupid stuff (which is why I kept the concept for MC Jalil Kubdel).
Zoe did it really well in Scarlet Lady where Alix knew the actual mythology and started blurting it out whenever Jalil got it wrong.
New Asks:
Tumblr media
Considering “Ikari Gozen,” I imagine Alya and Kagami don’t get along as well. I agree with basically everyone that Marinette and Kagami not getting along is bad, but Alya and Kagami not really getting along makes more sense and is more tolerable.
Since Alya is Marinette’s “““BFF”““ (supposedly), I could see her kind of being like, “You’re competing with my girl over the same guy,” and keeping Kagami at arm’s length, worried that keeping Kagami close will allow Kagami to be closer to Adrien since Adrien is an extension of their friend group (kinda, sorta, not really, but Marinette calling him a friend so technically--)
You know, Alya trying to be a good friend and help Marinette with Adrien in more subtle ways. It’s the wrong way to go about it but she’s trying.
Tumblr media
LUKANETTE IS AMAZING IN TERMS OF PROGRESSION KDJNGJDFG, I ADORE IT. Every episode they share together, we either learn something new about them or see more details on their relationship.
I think I was already all-in before “Silencer,” but man, that episode just sealed it even more. I was like well dang, why does the love square even EXIST???
Tumblr media
jfdngjkfdjgfdg
Incredible. Only problem is that the creator doesn’t know how to use it properly.
Tumblr media
You mean fourteen year olds aren’t perfect human beings???? :o
(no, but really, that’s me all the time; like, she’s barely a teen!)
Tumblr media
He’ll believe it if it’s Chat Noir who’s doing it. If Marinette ever does it though, he’ll be sure to shut it down. ;P
Tumblr media
Ugggggh, the worst part is that I have the same exact fear that they really are going to be like yeah Ladybug you silly fool Chat Noir has been with you since the beginning!
I mean, we’re already basically getting that with the New York special; Chat was supposed to protect Paris and then didn’t tell Ladybug that he “had to” leave for New York (and the New York thing is inadvertently Marinette’s fault and parts of the fandom actually did blame her for it even though it was Chat’s choice not to say anything), then Ladybug gets upset with him when she discovers it mid-battle, which leads to Chat being distracted and Cataclysming someone (another thing that Ladybug can be “inadvertently” blamed for), then Chat gives up his miraculous so Ladybug isn’t even allowed to be angry and cue the later line of “I can’t imagine being Ladybug without... him.”
So clearly that’s saying something. Adrien doesn’t get anything close to that level and Marinette is chewed out for not asking him to stay when Nino had already asked him too.
It’s like--Marinette chooses to go after Adrien and then gets either nothing in return, or humiliated by the narrative, and then in the New York special, she decides to do nothing and everything still goes wrong while Alya yells at her for it. The “damned if she does, damned if she don’t,” on display is stunning. The girl tries to confess and it’s like, “no, not allowed, but Chat is allowed to confess.”
Tumblr media
I still don’t understand this logic of his overarching plot but also “there’s not much of a timeline.” I think the only solid thing we’ve ever gotten was something about all the episodes in one season coming after all the episodes in a previous one, but there are still things that don’t add up? The only thing the season 3 production order will give is making sure the hero debuts work out (so no Viperion or Pegase before “Party Crasher,” for example).
It’s not really reliable. I mean, like--I’ve been experimenting with timelines for a while, and stuff like “Miraculer” baffles me. It’s basically non-canon with no value whatsoever. All it does is make “Heart Hunter” look even more confusing and treats Marinette even more horribly for not picking Chloe when she explicitly told Chloe that she wasn’t getting it back.
Tumblr media
I’m not familiar with that one! Is it any good?
(Okay, I actually was too curious and ended up looking it up; fancy! I couldn’t have guessed that it was a webtoon! I started reading the 1st issue and before I knew it, I was on the 6th! Oops~)
Lila is totally Rashta, 100% agree. The fact that the comments have a nickname of “Trashta” for her, equivalent to Liar Rossi, says as much ;P
Tumblr media
Because lessons that involve telling someone that they’re valid and allowed to feel a certain way don’t apply to Marinette. Isn’t it nice? :3
Tumblr media
Not that I know of? Though I also don’t look for that kind of thing, so it’s possible that it exists and I just don’t know about it.
Even if it did exist thought, I don’t see a problem with you doing your own regardless. Good luck if you do!
Tumblr media
No. No I do not. ;P
Tumblr media
GREETINGS FELLOW INTJ!
And yeah, I’m not really capable of not analyzing shows. There are some small exceptions, but they’re usually not full shows in the normal sense. If there’s an ongoing plot, my mind tends to be working at all times.
In terms of Miraculous, Season 1 was harmless enough where I was bothered but pretty quiet about it, but then it just got progressively worse. It really feels like one of those things you can’t unsee when it finally hits you, y’know?
I’m glad I was able to help you get that satisfaction you need (and appreciate Lukanette, of course ;3)!
Non-Miraculous Asks:
(some heavy Puella Magi Madoka Magica salt below)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wow, this is a really dedicated ask! Nice!
Gonna go point by point here:
1 - Yeah, the whole thing with Homura not “being able” to save everyone... kinda questionable, and I didn’t really buy the arguments they used to explain it away. I think there was this one PSP game or something with Madoka Magica where you could kind of choose what happened (like, there were bad ends where Sayaka didn’t get her soul gem back in time and her body was partially decayed; ick) and I think there’s a good end where Homura saves everyone but--yeah, not canon.
I just don’t care for twisted stories like that unless there is actually a good end on the horizon (and I mean like “Everyone Lives and is Happy” good end). Angst is just so exhausting so the second I saw Mami’s head being bitten I was just like, “Ah, okay, so we’re doing this then.”
2 - Eugh, the sexism thing. It’s so... yeah, and especially this because the whole “girls are emotional” thing, I don’t really care whether or not the show is trying to “subvert” or “explain” anything, it just feels like poor taste and I don’t like it. (I also didn’t know about that Death Note thing because I didn’t watch it, but geez.)
3 - Wow, I’ve been away from the show for so long that I forgot what Mami’s wish was; I thought it was to “not be alone” or something (or maybe not die alone?? I really don’t remember), but either way, the fact that it follows some sort of genie wish logic is just--*sigh*--they’re teenage girls, come on (plus, the “genie wish logic” is really overdone to me anyway).
4 - The other thing about Sayaka is that it’s really predictable that she’d “die so quickly.” Basically everything was pointing to her just being annihilated at some point, and being Madoka’s best friend, it was pretty inevitable that she’d go.
((semi-unrelated, but someone also asked me which character’s name was lied about before episode 3 hit and they wondered if it was Sayaka’s; it was Kyubey’s))
Tumblr media
Yikes. Sorry you had to experience that.
Anyway, I guess I’m not experienced enough in multiple fandoms to say for sure? If I was ever in a fandom, I would just blacklist the people/stuff I didn’t like, so I didn’t get to see a tong of “bad things” going on.
+ I try really hard not to generalize fandoms into one thing.
Tumblr media
𝓖𝓮𝓷𝓭𝓮𝓻 𝓝𝓸𝓻𝓶𝓼 𝓐𝓻𝓮 𝓢𝓽𝓾𝓹𝓲𝓭 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓑𝓸𝔂𝓼 𝓐𝓻𝓮 𝓐𝓵𝓵𝓸𝔀𝓮𝓭 𝓽𝓸 𝓛𝓲𝓴𝓮 “𝓖𝓲𝓻𝓵𝔂” 𝓣𝓱𝓲𝓷𝓰𝓼
Tumblr media
Oof, uhhh, shows, huh? That’s tough.
I think the main ship from Given (Mafuyu and Ritsuka) is really adorable (you might’ve seen the amusing video of their love being mutual before), and while I would’ve said the same thing for the kinda-sorta side ship, it gets--uh... really bad during the movie/rest of the manga, I’ll just say that much.
Mafuyu and Ritsuka though, totally adorable.
Inuyasha kinda? Though Inuyasha and Kagome are definitely not the kind of romantic chemistry that I lean towards (I find “the bickering couple” to be rather exhausting). Plus, Cardcaptor Sakura did the “male tsundere” better than Inuyasha did (though the Clear Card Arc was terrible, at least it’s not canon kinda-sorta? idk it seems like a mix of the anime and manga so...).
After that there’s...
uh
...
hm.
I mean, there’s probably a couple more examples somewhere, but--yeah, I’ve got nothing. Maybe if I thought back to all the generic children shows I watched when I was little (like those old Disney live-action shows; I had no taste when I was younger), there might’ve been something that satisfied kid me but idk.
Tumblr media
I don’t remember what post inspired this, but I have no problem answering regardless, ahaha~
My main issue is Aang’s attitude about the whole thing. I’m not saying it was right of Katara to go out and get “revenge via murder” exactly, but I also think that Zuko had the right idea with allowing her to go and face the man who killed her mother so she could get some form of closure (also note that Zuko doesn’t express any sort of opinion when Katara decides not to kill him; he just wanted her to have whatever she thought she needed to heal).
It’s also the episode where Zuko directly confronts Aang on his “violence isn’t the answer” rhetoric which then goes completely ignored as Aang lionturtles his way out of the conflict. Aang is also not confronted on his point of “forgiveness is the first step to healing” (when Katara has a right not to forgive and Aang isn’t challenged outside of Katara commenting on it) and was permitted to ride his high horse when Katara “steals” Appa like, “It's okay, because I forgive you... that give you any ideas?” which is just--
reaaaaaally "holier than thou”-esque when Aang is like, ten, and Katara is a sort of motherly figure to him. The episode even has Sokka praise Aang for how “wise” he is and I groaned through the entire thing.
Another smaller thing is that it sort of makes the air kingdom look way too “perfect” by having Aang be the “source of wisedom,” especially when it’s like “violence isn’t the answer” while all the other airbenders are dead.

I was just reading Snk 123 again and somehow I’m just so sad that Isayama literally flipped Levi out of Eren’s life just like that. I mean this has been hard to accept for a long time now but with all the miscommunication between AM and Eren in this chapter, it is even harder to take in. Levi has played such a big role in Eren’s development and has always understood Eren better than anybody. His pov is extremely important at this point. And I’m just a lot frustrated at how Isayama keeps pushing him out of the whole conundrum. So basically I wanted to write a meta but I was just too sad to write a meta so below the cut is just a whole rant about Levi and Eren and why we need Levi back in Eren’s life. Eh, it’s like really long but I just had to get this off my chest.
I just want Levi to talk with Eren once more before the manga concludes. His POV is extremely important rn, more than ever, given that he was the only one who acknowledged Eren for his whole self ( yes both his darker side and the baby side). Additionally he was the only one who talked to Eren in his language (like freedom and choice) something that would later influence Eren’s outlook and consequently his speeches too. I don’t have anything against AM (in fact I love both of them a lot) but really the fact that they CHOSE to see only one side of Eren is something that’s undesirable and unfortunate. I mean, every living person has a darker twist associated with them. Nobody is flawless and it’s important for us as well as people around us to acknowledge the flaws, to accept a person for who he is. Choosing to ignore the darker aspects and accepting only the idealised version of someone is rather naive and immature behaviour.
And here I just wanna point out how Levi was always aware about the darkness that Eren possesses inside him. He has always spoken in terms of duality when it came to Eren like to him, Eren was both a “tameless monster” that might be dangerous and also his “source of all miracles” ,i.e., his hope. Levi is someone who never had a Romantic perception of Eren. But for AM, it was just the opposite. Could it be because AM were somewhat afraid that if they chose to see Eren’s darkness it might make them love him less and also shatter the idealism they associate with him? And am I blaming AM for having this outlook? Hell no. It’s a personal take but tbh as teenagers that’s not uncommon. I mean we do like to think that the people closest to us are absolutely perfect. We like to believe that they can never be in the wrong, specially when it comes to family and childhood friends who’ve been there for us since forever. It’s hard to accept that they might have a darker side to them. AM love Eren so much that it makes them turn a blind eye to reality and they “did not want to see” the slow transformation in Eren because that could lead them to confront Eren’s demons.
However, coming back to Levi, he really foreshadowed Eren’s whole character arc in his understanding of Eren’s nature. Yes, Eren does have a darker psychological side: he is essentially a monster that cannot be hold in check by anybody. Mikasa and Armin tried in 112, but sadly they couldn’t get through to him. And also, let’s talk about the difference in approaching Eren when it comes to AM and Levi. Armin, in all the instances he managed to talk Eren out of his delirious state, has always made references to the outside world and elaborated on the beauty and variety that lies there. It was kind of like projecting his own dreams onto Eren and not realizing that Eren doesn’t care about oceans or mountains or deserts or anything. For Eren, it is not about the beauty of the world or the variety in it, it is the FREEDOM and the FREEDOM OF CHOICE that a person who’s not oppressed has when it comes to seeing and experiencing the world. In contrast to Armin’s way, we have Levi’s way of approaching Eren where he talks about the different taste in air outside the walls because the outside has what BOTH OF THEM value: FREEDOM. Levi also talked about how hellish the outside is, in contrast to Armin always associating beauty with it. And when Eren later talks to Falco he tells that what awaits him might just be another hell, but it could be hope too- the hope of finally being free. Levi has a superior understanding of Eren, of what he needs to hear, etc.- something that can’t be just thrown out of the window. (Isayama did just that by denying any involvement from Levi when it comes to Eren’s recent actions/attitude. He denied us the talk that was much needed)
Now the VN isn’t exactly canon given that it wasn’t written by Isayama but we can consider it semi-canon as it required Isayama’s approval. So, the whole thing highlighted the message that “Humanity’s strongest understands Eren Jaeger very well” and yeah, even going by the manga we know Levi is integral in Eren’s development and is the only one who saw through the duality in Eren, understood his drive and his will. So why all the focus on Levi’s understanding of Eren if it is supposed to amount to nothing in the end? I get that Isayama wanted to set it up like Levi’s role in Eren’s life is over but it is just so abrupt?? I mean, okay I accept that when Levi said “He’s fifteen. Everyone has a phase like that”, it was an indirect reference to the fact that Eren is in the teenage phase™️ where he wants to be left alone with only his friends and therefore, Hange shouldn’t be so inquisitive (and maybe Levi too should not concern himself with Eren as much as he used to before??) Like, if we look at this way, it justifies Levi’s distance from Eren post the basement revelation. Since then, we got no other moment of conversation between them while before that, there’d be plenty. I get Isayama’s motif of taking Levi out of Eren’s life to add fuel to Eren’s gradual isolation from everybody but then why did he bother to put so much emphasis on Levi’s understanding of Eren in the beginning? It should have some ulterior purpose right? If the Rumbling does happen and the world is really destroyed (i’m not ruling out the possibility of the world destruction not happening im just considering the situation if it really does comes to the worst), there has to be someone who reproaches Eren, someone who berates him in a way that he understands and reflects on what he has done; someone who brings up the topic of if this is really what freedom demands and actually gives us the answer to the pertinent question: if this was the only way? And I cant think about anyone else really suited for this other than Levi- someone who realized the potential for danger that Eren holds? someone who always realized his desire for freedom? (Also, Levi and Hange are the only senior officers left right now so it ideally should be either of them but because Levi played a greater role in Eren’s life compared to Hange, I side more for him being the one to deal with Eren.)
Also, Armin pointed out how he always thought he understood Eren even more than Mikasa but it turned out that he actually didn’t; the same went for Mikasa in 123 when she accepted that she’s been seeing only one side of Eren. Both of them could never accept the plausibility of Eren doing something so monstrous. But, Levi could. From the very beginning. Not that it made him love Eren any less I mean, he did say that he’d willingly go to war again to protect Eren. Besides the vow he made to Erwin, the fact that Zeke could be controlling Eren and it’s Zeke’s fault that the higher-ups don’t trust Eren, also became a crucial factor for Levi to decide going against authority and killing Zeke. That’s how much Levi still loves Eren, even after Liberio. So all I am saying is that Levi should be let in Eren’s life once this all is over and the manga concludes because imo there is no one better qualified to address Eren and talk to him as he is now. Only someone who had a vague idea about Eren’s darkness can and also should talk him down. If the Rumbling really happens, and all hell is really let loose, then is this really the freedom that Eren wanted? Is this a price worth paying? Given that Levi is the only one who has spoken explicitly about freedom to Eren, his take on this becomes extremely important and that’s why we need a Levi-Eren talk or at least Levi’s pov on Eren and the Rumbling.
The manga has established that Levi understands Eren’s drive for freedom and his monstrous essence better than anybody else. In fact, it is an undeniably important aspect of his character arc and unless he gets to have a final conversation with Eren then his arc will never really get a proper closure. At least, this is how I feel and I’m also sad that Isa made him so non-inclusive in Eren’s life just like that and in his place, AM couldn’t understand Eren at all. I mean let’s face it he is Eren’s mentor and his influence on Eren is so visible that this cutting away of Levi from Eren’s life just doesn’t sit well with me. Maybe it’s because I’m biased idk but I strongly feel like Levi should get a final say on Eren and his behaviour, because right now, as it stands, he is the only one who got the closest to understanding Eren, all of him.

THE POSITIVE & NEGATIVE; mun & muse - meme.
Tumblr media
TAGGED BY: @hyaciiintho ( ;-; AAA THANK!!! )
TAGGING (don’t feel obligated to do it!): @forsakenflora , @avadite , @yinseal , @inseparabilum , @reigningsniper , @tsume-awase , @canisfuria & YOU if you wanna!
FILL OUT & REPOST ♥ this meme definitely favors canons more, but i hope oc’s still can make it somehow work with their own lore, and lil’ fandom of friends & mutuals. multi-muses pick the muse you are the most invested in atm.
----------------------------------------------------
MY MUSE IS:   CANON / OC / AU / CANON-DIVERGENT / FANDOMLESS
Is your character popular in the fandom?  YES / NO
Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom?  YES  / NO / IDK (he’s fetishized a lot; thanks, i hate it)
Is your character considered strong in the fandom? YES / NO / IDK (i’d lean more toward no)
Are they underrated?  YES / NO
Were they relevant for the main story?  YES / NO / MAYBE (stares into the abyss)
Were they relevant for the main character?  YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG
Are they widely known in their world?  YES / NO / MAYBE
How’s their reputation?  GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL (true neutral, my boy)
HOW STRICTLY DO YOU FOLLOW CANON? ♠ || i have an ongoing joke that “canon is a slab of meat that we slow-roast at 475 degrees and carve for the juicy bits” but at the same time it’s not a joke at all, i’m being perfectly serious. i’m definitely a lot less strict than when i started for writing canon characters way back yonder, but i also DO like to keep within an array of canon boundaries because i’m not writing for an OC in this instance, i’m writing for an established character. ...it also doesn’t help that my character’s handled differently in the 4 types of media he shows up in but. i grew up reading DC comics and writing for beast boy, so i’m kind of used to “multiple takes existing for singular character”.
that being said, my take on dol is clearly canon divergent (since... he’s alive and my default verse takes place after the nest raid) but it pulls primarily from brotherhood/manga with a couple dashes of 2k3 series (since that’s the only media that gives us a length of time that he was in the labs). but given that i follow along with just about every scrap of information provided in the manga on this clown, i’d say i follow canon fairly strictly... but there ain’t a lot to go off of, so my reins are pretty loose no matter how you look at it. my city now.
SELL YOUR MUSE! AKA TRY TO LIST EVERYTHING, WHICH MAKES YOUR MUSE INTERESTING IN YOUR OPINION TO MAKE THEM SPICY FOR YOUR MUTUALS.   ♠ || (* ̄3 ̄)╭ well, hello, there. aware of dog? yes. this is he: dolcetto mcgrouchyboots, and he is not happy to be here at all. he is traumatized, sassy, wants to throw hands with teenagers, has no sense of self worth, and will absolutely use himself as a meat shield in order to protect any and everyone he cares about. he is spliced with: dog. his favorite weapon: sword. if you listen carefully, you might hear dog-song rising on the east wind as he approaches (don’t tell him axel taped a cassette player to his back). he comes from a found family of complete and utter morons with a lot of damage, they live in a partially underground bar, work as information brokers, and are all DEFINITELY fully functioning adult people. they say gay and trans rights. if you like angry boys with a sense of humor semi-on-par with griffin mcelroy, this is the boy for YOU!!!
NOW THE OPPOSITE, LIST EVERYTHING WHY YOUR MUSE COULD NOT BE SO INTERESTING (EVEN IF YOU MAY NOT AGREE, WHAT DOES THE FANDOM PERHAPS THINK?).   ♠ ||  he’s only featured in a handful of episodes/chapters across all media, doesn’t have a significant amount of dialogue, and we only ever see him lose to the protagonist(s) despite that he seems more than capable of fighting anyone else. easy to brush off as a “aw he died and that’s sad but we didn’t really know him, moving on”. from what i’ve seen in my years, people are more interested in him being a cog in the machine of “greed is sad” and less interested in... HIM. which is fair, i guess, but hhhhhh
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO RP YOUR MUSE?   ♠ || i don’t know if i can pin-point any ONE thing, but i’ve always been drawn to characters with some sort of connection or bond with animals (example, once again, being beast boy from teen titans). i also have an IMMENSE weakness for the found-family dynamic. so when the devil’s nest appeared during my first watch through of brotherhood, i was pretty much... hooked. immediately. and devastated. immediately. as for what drew me to writing dol, specifically... probably his loyalty, his drive, the fact that he WOULDN’T FUCKING STAY DOWN no matter how many times someone knocked him flat on his face. i vibe with that. grew up very much in the mentality of “fall down 7 times, get up 8″. also, he had a sword... which always beats guns on coolness factor. and i loved his fire. ...and that he was a complete fucking idiot who’s really bad at kidnapping i mean HOLY SHIT THAT’S HOW YOU TRIED TO GET HIM TO COME WITH YOU, DOLCETTO, ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING--
WHAT KEEPS YOUR INSPIRATION GOING? ♠ ||  dol has always been a great source of ...venting for me? <xD ever since i started writing him, i’ve always found his muse--specifically--to be extremely cathartic and comforting. i dunno if it’s because he lets the more... jaded side of me come out, even when we’re both trying to be optimistic?
because i’ve been in 2 emotionally abusive friendships. i definitely have some left over hurt, pent up anger that hasn’t been given closure, a hell of a lot of underlying bitterness that i never got the opportunity to confront those people, BUT i still try to be. y’know. welcoming, friendly, supportive, despite a voice in the back of my head being paranoid?? i think dol continues to give me outlets to expressing that. somehow. not that i use him as an excuse to do it, more so i have more opportunities to do it when i’m writing him as opposed to writing someone like beast boy, who’s usually more on board with keeping the peace than picking a fight. i’ve also invested SO MUCH TIME and ENERGY into his background and headcanons and things that i kind of can’t quit him now, nor do i want to.
... and aside from that i just want him to have a happy ending god, fucking damnit.
SOME MORE PERSONAL QUESTIONS FOR THE MUN.
give your mutuals some insight about the way you are in some matters, which could lead them to get more comfortable with you or perhaps not.
Do you think you give your character justice?  YES / NO ( or i certainly hope so )
Do you frequently write headcanons? YES / NO
Do you sometimes write drabbles?  YES  / NO
Do you think a lot about your Muse during the day?  YES / NO
Are you confident in your portrayal?   YES / NO
Are you confident in your writing?  YES / NO ( definitely have moments but eh! )
Are you a sensitive person?  YES  / NO ( kind of... varies. i’d say i’m more hyper aware)
DO YOU ACCEPT CRITICISM WELL ABOUT YOUR PORTRAYAL?   ♠ || i definitely like to think i do when it comes to pre-established things in canon. but when it comes to what i’ve built on my own over my years of writing for dol (and the nest members as a whole), it’s kind of my sandbox and i’d appreciate you not stomp around in it.
unless i need to be learned a thing, like... one of the nest members, vi, is a trans-woman. i’m a cis-woman and i try to do as much research as i can and educate myself, but if i ever fuck something up please tell me, i’m doing my best but i’m more than willing to listen. i want to grow.
DO YOU LIKE QUESTIONS, WHICH HELP YOU EXPLORE YOUR CHARACTER?   ♠ || pretty sure everyone does! >xD but yeah! i FUCKING love it. especially since i’m writing for a minor character. =//o//= it shows people are interested in him despite his overall lack of content.
IF SOMEONE DISAGREES TO A HEADCANON OF YOURS, DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY?   ♠ || i’d definitely be curious as to why but i doubt i’d be offended or take ... any personal harm from it--y’know? it’d be more of a “let me hear your perspective and maybe it’ll expand my own understanding, or i might not agree after the explanation and that’s cool”!
an exception would be for an obviously shitty one that’s shitty for no reason, like... acTUALlY, he’s TOtaLLY hom///o///pho//bic, to which i’d be like “bitch, no, get away from me; no one in this bar is straight, die mad”.
IF SOMEONE DISAGREES WITH YOUR PORTRAYAL, HOW WOULD YOU TAKE IT?   ♠ || again, it’s cool! there’s not a lot of canon material so you can take his portrayal a variety of places. if we don’t jive, it’s pretty whatever.
my one exception to this is probably people who, in the past, have told me i write him being “too mean”. which will never cease to confuse me. because even after al straight told dolcetto he was 14, dol was still like “I REALLY WANNA SMACK HIM but i’d just hurt my hand so you’re off the hook”, he’s angry like 85% of his dialogue in the manga... i’m just confused. where are you seeing the “uwu pupper~” persona. you can write it, that’s fine, i don’t care, just don’t get irritable when i don’t write him like a cute puppy. because here he is. suggesting we just kill izumi because she’s being troublesome. yeet. ...he’s an asshole.
IF SOMEONE REALLY HATES YOUR CHARACTER, HOW DO YOU TAKE IT?   ♠ || whatever, just don’t be a dick or speak badly about me or him in my presence because, flawed as he is and while i won’t make excuses for him, i’ll stand up for him. go somewhere else, my dude. i, personally, don’t have the energy for your negativity. nor do i have the patience.
ARE YOU OKAY WITH PEOPLE POINTING OUT YOUR GRAMMATICAL ERRORS?   ♠ ||  i’m more okay with people correcting my spelling (gently). because of the way i taught myself to read, i’d be FUCKED if auto-correct or spell-check didn’t exist. i also google correct spellings constantly. so spelling, yeah, i already know that i’m terrible at it so feel free to correct type-os or spelling mishaps, it ain’t no thang.
grammar i’m a bit... pickier about. because sometimes i’ll purposely do a “grammatical error” because the punctuation or otherwise further drives the pacing or mood i’m trying to give my writing. i may not know ALL the rules but i break them from time to time... FOR THE ART.
DO YOU THINK YOU ARE EASY GOING AS A MUN?   ♠ || i wanna say i am?? while i definitely do want to seriously explore and flesh out and grow dol as a muse and character, i’m “not above” goofing around, poking fun at him, or just being plain silly on the dash. RPing is escapism for me and i strive to keep my blog a peaceful safe haven on the dashboard, both for myself and my followers.
i try to communicate to the best of my ability and despite my anxieties, and while i may not be able to follow or RP with EVERYONE (for obvious reasons) i’m open to interacting with ... pretty much anyone who throws me a bone. i’ll speak up if i’m not down for a plot or interested in a certain relationship or interaction, but i’m certainly not going to be rude or dismissive about it. i know what that feels like. i’d say yeah, though! i think i’m pretty chill. e-e you tell me.

seik-o replied to your post “i finally caught up with haikyuu”
share ur thoughts! ❤️
well then, as always, spoilers ahead
so, i have spent the last few days catching up from abt ch 230 to the last one relased today and i have some thoughts. they are not bad, just thots
first, the match i was reading when i went back was karasuno vs tsubakihara, and tbh it was okay. kind of forgettable but nontheles, important to the progression of the team.
i do admit that i kind of speed read through it, and i didn’t cherish it, most to the fact due that prior to catching up, i thought that the manga would end at ch 400, but i feel that i am wrong. there is still a small bit of information that furudate needs to tell us or at least show in passing before it ends.
my favorite match so far has to be agains the foxes, and i feel that it was so well made that i was like wow, omg, word!
a close second would be the nekoma match, ah well, it was long awaited and i hated having to be like, oh noes, but i love BOTH of them. but it be like that sometimes. the match was good. and i love seeing how the rallies were endless as in, both teams dueling it out to the fullest.
in the kamomedai match, i felt it was sort of a cheap grab and a way to shorten the manga(maybe furudate is being held at gunpoint or something and shueisha wants them to finish it) by making hinata sick, and also tsukki get a cramp, but i do understand that it was a vital moment in both the teams learning how to function, but also hinata to learn that he is not invincible, that he is just as human as anyone else, and i especially loved takeda’s kind of slap in the face talk to hinata. it was something he needed to see.
the brazil part? i LOVED IT. what mostly makes me happy cry is the genuine love and apppreciation and desire that hinata has for the sport, and the lengths he is willing to go to improve. all the struggles he went through when there, how he felt alone, and was so desparate to be constantly improving. it is very admirable. also, i kinda forgot oikawa existed lmao cause it had been so long since we had seen him and i loved their interaction between them, and how hinata learned a very important skill; to be aware of how the other team sees you. he became so self aware both in body and mind and it made me cry a bit to see him so grown up.
but, i may be biased, since i prefer when a manga gives both the characters as well as the readers closure, (not like in naruto, raise ur hand if uv ever been attacked by kishimoto).
what will become of hinata? and more importanty, of kageyama? both of their dreams have been, somewhat, partially fulfulled by getting to play V1 vball, and playing against each other, as well as the small easter egg that atsumu planted in at the end of their match with inarizaki, “he wanted to set for hinata” and he sure did. now they are on the same team. will they get to play for the olympics? but i am a bit confused as in one of the flashbacks it showed kags in a japan uniform and the location was rio, so did he????? idk????
in essense, and in a purely selfish way too, i want to see how the other teams, like tsukki’s team or goshiki’s are. i know this is not realistic and it would add maybe unnecessary bulk but i would very much like to see. especially since tsukki used to be the “i don’t care boo hooo whatever” type. and then he gradually had such a wonderful growth to appreciate and awaken the drive to be better and eventually love volleyball as well, since he was hit hard by the “hinata effect”
but it also makes me very happy that not all of the characters chose to go the vball route, even though they may like it, just like tenma, they don’t have to love it and be completely immersed. for example, you have asahi and noya, both very good and passionate but they became a fashion designer and a fisherman respectively. and suga? bless him he’s a teacher. and akaashi lmao hes an editor and probably looks over tenma’s manga (which i think is a furudate self insert). the fact that you can love something, and not have it be a critical part of your life is a good point to make, but also a realistic one. because no matter how good you are, the chance you will make it is slim, and there will always be someone better than you too. and that is a fact you need to accept.

Give me a character and I'll answer: BORTZ
jksdfklsdflkjsd lol i had a feeling this’d happen.
Give me a character and I will answer:
Why I like them: so many reasons. their hair, their ability to see gems well and the little things bout their fighting, their voice, their straight forward attitude.
Why I don’t: their a diiiiick. i think the anime downplayed their dickness cause i’m annoyed with em in the manga, be lucky i didn’t read the manga first they would’ve been an annoyance to me. not to mention they remind me WAY too much of dickish people my friends have had to deal with sometimes, and i hate people who’re like that to my friends.
Favorite episode (scene if movie): mostly their scenes in ep 2, that badass slashing of the ship that caught the amethysts in ep 6, and their entire self in ep 10 and 11.
Favorite season/movie: only one is season 1 so that.
Favorite line: i like their lines bout analyzing phos’s fighting. there’s also “so that’s how you see it. dia hated this kind of interest.” just kinda, something i think my little heart needs to analyze for a bit. also their “so do i.” but i liked the anime vers’s take on the line cause the wording didn’t sound dickish and y’know what screw it i like anime bortz better.
Favorite outfit: that’s hard lol. i’mma say their fall uniform.
OTP: DIABORTZ FTW!!! course i love em with my oc margi and shell and my crossover otp with liang nanbaka
Brotp: gonna say bortz and yellow cause their relation is underrated.
Head Canon: AUTISTIC AS HELL!!! okay maybe human au wise idk if gems can have mental disorders. gem headcanon wise they'd probably start going to pick flowers like dia did.
Unpopular opinion: their short hair still sucks and i don’t like it. the only good thing bout it is the whip for...non-kosher reasons.
A wish: GIVE EM BACK THEIR HAIR!!! alrighty maybe that’s impossible so how bout this, HAVE EM GET PUNCHED IN THE FACE!!!
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: well the hair thing got botched. lemme see, and at this rate i just want them all to be restart the world. i guess uhhhh, have em not get dia closure? or not get punched in the face whichever happens.
5 words to best describe them: hot. sexy. luxurious. badass. hard.
My nickname for them: bortz-u and bortz-y but i use em when i think of ships i have with em.

I got tagged by @cloverinblue!
1. Who’s your favorite real person?
Man I’m so bad at picking favorites and here’s this giant list of favorites I gotta pick. Idk? I’m really bad at picking favorites, and I’m really bad at finding inspiration from real people. There’s a lot of people I’d consider to have been inspirational to me IRL who sort of later let me down. I was really into Ender’s Game but turns out that the author is a nut, for example.
I think I’m going to go with Hang S. Ngor, who was a cambodian refugee. The TL;DR of his life is that he was a doctor (Surgeon and gynecologist) in Cambodia when Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge seized power. He escaped with his life, lost the love of his life, and was tortured repeatedly. He did end up managing to escape, but he’d lost everything. He was scouted at a wedding in America, and ended up being cast in The Killing Fields, which he won a supporting actor Oscar for, being the only asian man (and one of two non-professional actors) to do so.
The fact that he did all this while Pol Pot was still alive is crazy, and his autobiography really fucked me up.
2. Who’s your favorite character(s) and why to name a few?
Here’s my waifu chart. Notable missing characters: Naomi Li, Asgeir (Vinland Saga), Masumi Shin (Oyasumi Punpun).
Some big ones:
Hat: Non-canon, but still my love. I mean, I’m getting a Daki of him, I think my love is obvious enough.
Yuri Petrov (Tiger and Bunny): Man his story fucked me up. I know we’ll probably never get real closure on his story, but just... ;; Antihero babe...
Choe Gu-Sung (Psycho-Pass): Trust me, you don’t want to read his backstory. It adds a whole other level of what the fuck into the mix.
Asgeir (Vinland Saga): Also known as Asgautr. He’s totally passed over by most people, but he’s always there, has a consistent character, and keeps Thorkell in check like no one else can.
3. If you got to anywhere in the world where would you go?
Man, if I had to pick... maybe Japan? I just hate flying, but I’d love to visit Japan one day. It’s kinda cliche, but I’ve got a lot of friends out there and lots of stuff I’d love to see and bring back. Ghibli museum for example...
4. What is your favorite past time?
I read a lot of manga, watch a lot of anime, play a lot of games... but tbh mostly I forum roleplay at this point.
5. Favorite plant?
I don’t really have one I don’t think. I am not a very green person.
6. Favorite Villain?
I swear half my list is villains. Crocodile from One Piece is a big one. I feel like it’s kind of... realistic that he just mostly gives up once he’s beaten? Like, he knows he’s not going to win and throws in the towel rather than doing the shonen ‘struggle forever’ thing.
7. Milkshake, soda or tea?
You’re making me cry. Milkshakes, except I’m lactose intolerant, so just water for meeee.
8. Favorite trope?
I have a lot of tropes I really enjoy but I’m bad at remembering them. Glancing at TVTropes, I really like ‘I gave my word’ (when a character, especially the villain follows their word NO MATTER WHAT), ‘Black and Black Morality’ (There’s the bad guys, the bad guys, and the... slightly less bad guys?), and while not quite a trope, I really like when it’s a dystopian society that feels like something people would plausibly follow.
9. Favorite phase of the moon?
Full moon I guess?
10. Favorite animal (can be mythical)
I was a huge sucker for dolphins growing up but now I’m so big on parrotlets... like, small parrots... conures and lovebirds and stuff...
11. If you got to choose what eye color and hair color you were born with, regardless if it is practical or not, what would you choose?
Uh... Grey eyes, black hair?
I aint tagging no one.
