a comment on this blog post suggests that they were taken in sydney:

the upload date of the video also dates the events to before january 2008. we know that tucker rule and james dewees were there. the song they're singing is gloves by reggie and the full effect:

for these reasons, i THOUGHT that the photos and video were taken at the sydney entertainment center on november 30th 2011. reggie and the full effect opened for mcr that night and gloves was on their setlist:

hi! I'm a linguistics major who's been interested in learning both modern standard arabic and palestinian arabic for a while now, but I've never gotten a chance to. (as a side note, we used some minimal palestinian arabic data in phonology and morphology, so I happen to have some base familiarity with the consonant inventory). my courses wrap up tomorrow, so I'll have until september to learn some of the basics.

I know you've posted some palestinian arabic learning resources on here before, which I plan on accessing. I was just wondering if you'd happen to know of any palestinian linguists, or perhaps could direct me to some blogs or sites that could help me out? in particular, I'd be interested in learning the language through the lens of the international phonetic alphabet, as a frame of reference for pronunciations. while I'm aware that the ipa is, unfortunately, rather western-centric, I plan on utilizing it purely as a learning aide. if you're aware of anything that might help me out, or know anyone who I could reach out to for more info, please do let me know!!

also, sorry to make an already long-winded ask even longer, but are there any common conventions when typing/writing arabic using the latin alphabet that I should know of, in case I come across it? while I absolutely plan on learning the arabic alphabet first and foremost, should I ever *need* to use the latin alphabet, it would be nice to know of writing conventions that arabic speakers might use.

I'm sorry I don't know much about linguistics but that sounds really cool. There's actually a method for us to write in Latin letters to represent certain sounds and letters through digital communication (for example we use 7 to distinguish to h sound we say from the back of the throat as opposed to the softer h sound — ح as 7 and ه as h respectively).

If you see random numbers sometimes in the middle of words, that usually means that we wanna make sure that the full meaning is conveyed without ambiguity.

It’s funny that MK can activate Tangs power for him.

It’s interesting to see that the only major difference with the animation is the characters. Like the cinematography is still really similar. It’s just rigged animation now.

If anyone has any insomniac!MK getting comforted by Pigsy (or any of his dads) fic recs, please share them because this is the good stuff.

Turns out there was controversy last year about callmekevin playing hogwarts legacy that I had zero clue about. I’m so sorry if me posting about him has affected anyone. I think it has, since I’ve lost a fair few followers in the last few hours. That’s not the focus of this post but I see you and I’m very sorry.

If the consensus is that people don’t want to see anything relating to him lmk and I will clear my queue and do my best to delete posts.

I’ve read his apology and it didn’t seem to be very well done honestly, I don’t think it was insincere but it was terribly written ngl. it could be just his cadence of typing and being chronically offline though.

It seems sincere, like he’s a very very offline person and he admits he didn’t hear any of it before that point. But. His apology didn’t even mention trans people or antisemitism by name and it was on his Reddit that is now closed due to the stuff from last year with communities shutting down. he seems to think there are no bigots in his community and says they were outside people causing a stir. He also mentions that the boycotts and controversy weren’t reported on where he lives (aside from online, which again he isn’t very online) and that makes sense to me because, yeah it wasn’t reported on much here either.

However it’s also his responsibility to do research before he takes a sponsor. I know he played his old Harry Potter games for his channel at one point, so maybe he just assumed that it would be okay since those were okay? I don’t like that the videos are still up, but I don’t know if deleting them would do anything at this point. I’m not processing the full apology as much as I could rn bc I have a really bad headache so please forgive me if I missed things

I don’t know what to think though bc he hasn’t posted those videos since and he’s also been trans positive for years. He’s been trans positive for a long time, I think openly at least 2018 and he’s donated to a few charities. He’s also had several casually trans/GNC characters that are treated the same as everyone else in the series. He also turned off comments on the video because of how crazy transphobic everyone was being. I wish he’d deleted the video but. It’s better than nothing and it’s probably because of contracts due to it being sponsored. Since then he’s also made jokes about her being an awful person.

I can understand why people would stop watching him but I’m conflicted and idk what to think. I acknowledge that trans people aren’t the only people affected by that game, Jewish people are too because. Gestures to hogwarts legacy and Harry Potter in general. I think it’s important to remember that here as well.

Hi, anon. Thanks so much for this message. I can completely understand being overwhelmed by the info on Twitter and Instagram, so its no wonder you're feeling confused on what's right or wrong in regards to information. I'd be happy to clear a few things up for you. Firstly though, I need you and anyone else who does end up reading this to know that I'm in no way an expert, and I know is what's come from the right sources on Twitter and Instagram because they are actually the ones who are the experts here. In basic terms, the writers are asking the studios they work for to be paid fairly, compensated in terms of residuals from streaming, proper weekly wages, new structure to writers' rooms, duration of projects and much, much more. This post from Twitter is the WGA negotiations on the left, and the AMPTP (Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers) response on the right. And this from WGAWest on Instagram will explain the strike in minimal terms for you, but basically the fight is against the major studios: Netflix, Apple, Amazon, Disney, Warner Bros, NBCUniversal, Paramount and Sony which are all under the umbrella of AMPTP.

With that, I would suggest only following @WGAWest and @WGAEast on Twitter and Instagram, for all the latest developments from the strikes as they are posting extensively. They're posting photos from different writers at the strikes, so I suggest following some of them, too. Get a look at what's happening on the ground.

In terms of showing support, if you live close to L.A. or NYC then joining the picket lines is the best way to show your solidarity. If you're driving by, honk those horns in support! Really lay on them, make it hard for the big suits to do their jobs, just as much as they've made it hard for writers to theirs.

If you live further out (or way across the pond like me), then social media is your next best tool. If social media had been more prominent during the 2007-08 strike, it could've benefitted the fight so much. So tweet, retweet (don't like, it does nothing for spreading the word), add to your stories, post videos in support of the writers. This thread from a writer has some links to the Entertainment Community Fund, which is raising money for writers' assistants, crew and other people who could affected by this strike for however long it takes for studios to give writers the fair deal they're asking for. You can also visit wga.org the official site of Writers Guild America - West, and go to WGA 2023 Strike Rules to learn the full extent of what PRE-Wga people like me can do as the strike continues.

And there is one other thing you can do, but it's completely up to you and what you decide. I can't be the one to make this decision for others. A lot of people have been cancelling their subscriptions to the streamers, and citing their reason as "Other" and writing "I stand with the WGA" along with it. This is definitely a way to hit the studios where it hurts, because if you start to lose your audience then you better listen to the people who actually create your shows, huh? If you feel this passionately in your heart, then I say go for it, I know I have. Netflix is the one that most people are cancelling more than the rest, as its the most major problem for writers, giving that they can last the longest without new content. So I'm leaving that decision with you.

Lastly, this doesn't affect me YET. It could in the near future, if the strikes continue over the next few weeks, and months. I hope it won't come to that, that the nearly 12,000 writers in the Guild will receive what is rightly owed to them. I really don't think they're asking for unreasonable things. So we have to see what happens next. It's a scary time, but it's also exciting, to know that the fight for expressing our creativity is so fiery and passionate.

You never sing in front of Harry. 

It’s not because you think you sound horrible, you’ve just always been shy when singing in front of people, and to have your boyfriend, Harry Styles, listening to you is too nerve wracking.

He takes a minute, brows furrowed and his fingers tugging at his pink plump lips, “Ok,” he sits up too, grabbing his phone from his pocket and typing away before a piano and guitar instrumental starts to play through the phone speaker and you instantly recognize it. 

You shoot him a small glare, which he just smirks back at, both of you knowing you’d have to use almost your full range to do this song. 

“I hate you” you mumble, sitting up straighter and taking a deep calming breath. 

“At Last..”  you belt out, nothing like Etta James but that's the thing about music, different people interpret songs in different ways, it’s the beauty of it.

You quickly take the medicine and immediately reach for the tea harry’s holding, taking a long sip of the warm liquid helping soothe your throat.

Gojo and Kugisaki thought that this was hilarious while Fushiguro decided that he’d store your guys’ glue gun in his shadows from now on

How yall manage to get through missions you go on together alive is a miracle

Speaking of missions, you eventually ask Yuuji what’s his deal because you feel a powerful aura coming from him but he never uses cursed energy, always cursed weapons

Cue Sukuna’s mouth popping up on the side of his face like “Hey mamas”

(You can’t tell me that Sukuna isn’t the type of guy to ask where his hug at)

“YUUJI WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?!”

“Oh, I guess you haven’t met Sukuna yet, huh?”

So he sits you down and explains how he ate Sukuna’s finger and you're sitting there like ‘mhm mhm mhm, sorry you what?’

For like 3 days after he told you that you couldn’t bring yourself to kiss him just because you were processing the fact that Yuuji ate someone’s nasty old ass finger and would have to eat 19 more

And the fact that he’s the vessel of like the worst curse known to man 

During those 3 days, Yuuji’s pouting because he’s like ‘I fucked up, now she doesn’t wanna kiss me let alone talk to me because of this monster inside of me :(’

Meanwhile you’re just like ‘why would anyone eat some random mummified finger?’

Eventually you get wind of Yuuji’s bad mood and immediately, you rush to smooth things over with him.

You knock on his door and hear blankets rustling before he goes, “I’m not in the mood to play fight right now Kugisaki’

“Can I come in baby?”

You immediately hear the most comical almost cartoonish amount of noise ranging from a cup falling over, sheets falling off the bed, and what sounds like Yuuji falling flat on his ass before he opens the door

When he does, you’re laughing and it’s like the sky is no longer grey and the world is filled with color

You smile at each other before your moment is interrupted with Sukuna going “Finally, full offense, his whining was getting annoying”

You step inside his room and apologize for ignoring him, explaining that you just needed time to process things, explaining that you should’ve told him that before dipping

He just grabbed you in a bear hug and lifted you of the ground and spinning you around laughing happily, after all he wasn’t even upset with you, he just missed you

And thus begins the honeymoon phase of your guys’ relationship

Fushiguro is actually really happy for you guys and is the most supportive of your relationship but if anyone asked him to admit that out loud he’d actually apparate to the nearest marooned ship

Nobura doesn’t hate you guys but she thinks all couples are disgusting, so while it’s nothing personal, she does gag when you and Yuuji do so much as make goo goo eyes at each other

Gojo is actually like the main cheerleader of your relationship. 

He is the teacher that changes the seating chart to put students he ships together

He was always pairing you and Yuuji up on missions and placing you as sparring partners like ur not slick

If Gojo is the cheerleader, Sukuna is an actual antagonist

Like the man goes out of his way to CHOOSE violence

Like on time you kissed Yuuji’s cheek on a date and when you pulled back, your lip was bleeding and Sukuna’s mouth was smirking at you

But Yuuji always remembers such little one-off details about you that make your dates.

Like you mention wanting to try a sushi train and he’s already scrolled through multiple yelp reviews and watched every youtube restaurant review like 9 times

But every high has a low and Yuuji and your’s low comes suddenly and it brings you crashing to the ground with no warning and nothing to slow your descent

When your class of first years were sent to exorcise the special grade cursed womb

When Yuuji’s hand got blown off and he told you to run you froze, your mind racing faster than your legs could even start

You glared up at Fushiguro but your eyes softened some when you saw how beat up Kugisaki looked.

He gave you this look that said he did what he had to do and he didn’t care what you had to say about it 

You and him waited in the rain for Yuuji or Sukuna to exit the building

You tried to focus yourself and save your negative emotions for your cursed attack

When Sukuna inevitably appeared, one finger stronger, you were fully prepared to fight him

However, he didn’t seem interested in fighting you and more engaged in fighting with Megumi

You tried to urge Fushiguro to wait it out, eventually Sukuna would lose control, but when Sukuna took Yuuji’s heart hostage, you both knew you’d have to fight

You and Fushiguro gave it your all but when Yuuji came back he still died 

It took all your strength to not completely fall apart after his death and the support from the second years as well as Kugisaki and Fushiguro helped

You’d tried to visit him at the morgue but Shoko only told you that she didn’t think it’d be a good idea.

You still slept in his sweaters and the things that smelled like him from time to time, trying to make the idea of him last, but after a month, the smell of him had started to fade

Everything about Yuuji’s memory seemed to become leached away with time, from his smell, to the wear present on things he’d given to you

You couldn’t help but feel resentful towards yourself but also to Sukuna, he’d taken Yuuji from you with the same care that one would throw litter on the ground

The pain in your chest didn’t wane either, it only became ignorable to a degree as training for the exchange with the Kyoto students became more intense

Fushiguro is a comfort to you as well, aside from you, him and Yuuji were the closest to each other and so he gets a lot of what you’re going through and doesn’t push when you become more withdrawn

He also lets you pet his demon dog too but when you ask him why he’s letting you pet it he just says ‘because no one would believe you if you told them’ lies

The bastard really just does it because he knows you’re sad and he doesn’t want you to be sad

Speaking of the Kyoto students, Zenin Mai and Toudou Aoi are permanently on your shit list

You’re relieved that Panda, Maki, and Inumaki came to your guys’ aid but like if you had your way Mai wouldn’t even exist

Anyways Maki has Panda physically restrain you while she tries to calm you down 

“(Y/N), you can kick her ass at the exchange!”

When you calm down, Panda puts you down and even though Mai’s long gone with Todou to go get his handshake, you make a promise that carries through the wind

‘Zenin Mai, pray that the next time you run across me I’m feeling kind, because if not-’, the last word is lost as the wind picks up but Mai feels a shiver rack through her body that more than ensures your message.

You Will Be Uncomfortable Watching This Notes

The first 23 seconds is full of What The Fuck. No idea if there’s codes or anything in there but if anyone got anything out of those seconds, lmk. ten months, two weeks, five days

When I woke up this morning, I could tell something was about to change. A certain thickness hung in the air, like a cloud.

Two months ago, Colby apologized about the night of the party. He told me that he was under a lot of stress, and that he took it out on me when he shouldn't have.

I never admitted to him that I loved him. I've been sitting on this feeling for two months now. It's been eating away at me slowly.

Colby has been pretty busy, him and Sam planning a lot of things for the coming year. These past two weeks, they went and filmed videos in a different state. He texted me every day and tried to call a couple times. I barely answered him.

I couldn't bring myself to hear his voice. I did everything in my power to see if my feelings for him would go away, but they didn't even budge.

He's finally home, and he immediately asked me to come over. A pit in my stomach formed, along with a swarm of butterflies.

I wanted to see him, badly. But... fuck, I didn't want to love him anymore.

This wasn't going to end well.

I knocked on Colby's apartment door three times, hearing a 'come in!' from inside.

I slowly opened the door, my eyes falling on Colby who was sprawled out on the couch. His eyes landed on me, smiling sweetly.

“Hey Zoe. How are you?” Colby asked, sitting up.

I replied, placing my bag down on his kitchen counter. “I'm good. How about you?”

“I'm doing better now since you're here.” He smirked.

“That's sweet of you to say.” I stated, sitting down away from him.

He scooched closer to me. “Uh, you know I tried to call you a couple times while I was gone, but you never really picked up.”

I stared down at the ground. “Yeah. Sorry about that. I've been busy.”

He brought his face close to mine, making me look up at him. “It's no problem. I'm just happy to see you again.”

Colby leaned in slowly, his lips pecking mine softly. I barely kissed him back, but it didn't seem like he noticed.

“I really missed you.” He whispered.

I took a deep breath, standing up and pacing over to his kitchen.

I shouldn’t have come here.

Why did I come here?

All I’m doing is breaking my own heart by being around him.

I need to just tell him how I feel.

But if I do that, all of this will end. I don’t want it to end.

But I can’t keep going on like this.

What if I lose him?

Maybe he does love me back.

No, he doesn’t.

Fuck, I just need to tell him.

No, I can’t.

“I can't do this anymore.” I uttered suddenly.

Colby turned to me, confused. “Do what?”

I exhaled deeply. “This. Us.”

Colby sat up again, slowly coming to his feet. “What do you mean, Zo? What's wrong?”

“I thought that when you apologized to me two months ago and we both made that promise to take things slow, maybe have some time away from each other, my feelings for you would change. Would go away. But they're not. And I can't pretend they're not real any longer.” I huffed, holding back tears.

“What are you saying, Zoe?” He questioned.

“I'm in love with you, Colby.” I confessed.

Colby stayed silent, his eyes falling away from my gaze.

“I'm in love with you. And I've loved you for a long time. I can't go on doing this and pretending my feelings for you aren't there.” I admitted.

“You weren't supposed to...” His voice trailed off.

I responded. “What? Catch feelings? I know. But, I couldn't help it.”

“How long?” Colby murmured.

“When we fought, two months ago, that's when I admitted it to Sam. But honestly... it was probably before that.” I shrugged, exhausted.

A heavy silence fell over the both of us. I wasn't sure what else I could say to him. I couldn't tell what he was thinking, his face contorted. He obviously wasn't happy about this.

His head popped up, his gaze back on mine. "You don't love me."

“What?” I sputtered.

“You don't love me. You've just grown attached to this... feeling. We fucked up when we went beyond cuddling. Maybe we just need a break from each other to reset ourselves and then we can go back to just doing that.” He nodded his head, a weird smile coming to his face.

“Colby. I'm admitting I love you and you're telling me... I'm not?” I inquired.

He confirmed. “Exactly. We've become so couple-like that you just think you love me.”

“Colby, I do love you.” I emphasized.

He shook his head. “No, you don't. You can't love me. We both promised to not catch feelings.”

“Well, I fucked up that one.” I deadpanned.

He denied. “You don't love me.”

“Colby! Yes I do!” I exclaimed, stepping closer to him.

He shouted. “No you don't!”

I groaned. “Oh my God, Colby! I'm not Sophie!”

Fuck.

“What did you say?” His eyes widen, his voice falling to a whisper.

Goddamnit, Zo!

“I'm... not Sophie.” I choked.

“H-How... do you-” He stammered.

I sighed. “Sam told me about her because you never did.”

His stare hardened, glancing over towards the door. “It wasn't his place to tell you about her. Why the fuck do you want to know about her anyway?”

“Because you are so adamant about not falling in love, I needed to know why. I know she hurt you, and you've been closed off since but-” I tried to explain.

He cut me off. “You don't know anything. You don't know what happened with her.”

I raised my hands. “That's true. I don't know her, or what you went through. But the fact that you can't even say her name means that you're still hurt. But that's okay. I need you to know that I'm not her.”

He rolled his eyes, walking towards his office. “I'm done with this.”

I jumped in front of him. “No, listen to me, Colby! I love you. Full stop. I know you've been hurt before, but I would never hurt you. I care about you so much, and I need you to understand that I'm not pretending to love you. This is a hundred percent real. I love you.”

He shook his head. “I don't feel the same way.”

I ignored the ache that came to my heart. “After almost a whole year of doing this, you don't have a single feeling for me?”

“No. I stuck to my promise.” He jeered.

“…You're lying.” I mumbled.

“How would you know?” He doubted.

“So you mean to tell me that after all the nights we spent together, all the parties we went to, the multiple times we slept together, the amount of times our friends have joked about us being a couple, the fact we literally both agreed to never see anyone else outside of each other, the actual date you took me on... after all that, no feelings.” I questioned; my tongue sharp.

Colby paused, then grunted out. “None.”

“You know what? Since you're so fucking adamant about us not being a thing, fine then. We're done.” I snapped.

I turned away from Colby, silent tears falling from my eyes. I could hear my heart pound in my ears, my face hot with anger and sadness. I grabbed my purse and headed towards the door.

His voice spoke suddenly. “It's better this way. We took this too far.”

I stopped dead in my tracks. I spun back around and walked back over to Colby.

“Cole, I want you to be honest with me. If you can look me in the eyes and tell me there is nothing there, I'll go. I'll act like none of this friends-with-benefits thing happened. We can go back to being actual friends with no benefits. But if you feel something for me and you're not giving it a shot because you don't want to get hurt, just know you're hurting me. And we will never be the same after this.” I pled, not being able to hold back any more tears.

Colby’s eyes landed on mine; a glossiness covered them. His voice, shaking.

“I don't love you, Zoe.”

I exhaled, my heart shattering. I bit my lip, my eyes falling away from his gaze. I nodded, and slowly walked back towards his front door.

I croaked, finally looking back at him. “I always liked your honesty, Cole.”

He stared back at me, his body tense.

“Too bad you suck at lying.” I shook my head, stepping out and slamming his door.

okay so idk if you watched/are planning on watching falcon and winter soldier but i watched the first episode the other day and they were speaking french (just a few seconds) and I UNDERSTOOD SOME WORDS DLDJDJ and i was so proud of myself. i‘ve only ever learned french with duolingo lol (i only do like 5 mins a day and that‘s why i was so surprised that i understood some of it!!). and yeah apart from latin i feel like italian, german, french and english are all similar in a sense.. i mean obviously they‘re completely different languages but for example there are some grammatical constructions in french that i think i wouldn‘t understand if i only spoke english? so when i translate those things into english you can‘t directly translate them bc you say things differently, but when i translate them into german then it makes more sense to me. idk that‘s something i noticed so i feel like if you already know multiple languages it‘s easier to learn another language compared to if you only know one language and are trying to learn a second one. even if the languages aren‘t similar then i think you get the hang of it easier.

(I guess language/linguistics are/is my passion (which sounds sooo lame lmaoooo) and the word passion comes from the latin word pati (i think💀) which means to suffer, and in german passion is called Leidenschaft which basically means suffering too, idk why i‘m telling you this maybe you know it already. but ok dumb fun fact, in german you can make compound words with as many words as you like, and the longest official german word is Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz which is a law for the monitoring of labels on beef... this is such a dumb fact but i think about that word like once a day idk why dodjsjsj so... 👁👄👁)

(so in non-covid times i always go to croatia with my dad during the summer, and even before ever watching a shark film i was always kind of scared in water.. but after watching so many shark films wldjdj HELP Like you know when you go deeper into the ocean and you can‘t see or feel the ground/floor? anymore.. then i just start imagining sharks. like i can‘t help it i just imagine a shark sneaking up on me or feeling something graze my foot ABD I JUST START FREAKING OUT SSKJSHSJ. idk. anyway kdkdh i do love the ocean/swimming though but the older i get the more i realise how fucking scary the ocean is ( even if we’re gonna disregard sharks)

i really like niall‘s music toooo!!!! And doja cat 😌😌😌😌 And THE VAMPS OG MY GOD. i got to see them live bc they were the opening/support act for little mix and ajdsjskslslsjsjsj. (Also i love concerts, some of the best memories of my life are concerts, i‘ve seen nicki minaj live 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 and justin twice and my heart fills every time i think about how excited i was, it was my first concert ever (16th of September 2016 😌) and i was the happiest person alive seeing justin drew fucking bieber (even if i‘m not tooo sure about justin nowadays)
