Leo/Need

Miku: Virgo Ogawa

Virgo is the Western equivalent of the Babylonian "The Furrow" (ASBIN) and representing the goddess Shala and her ear of grain. One star in this constellation, Spica, retains this tradition as it is Latin for "ear of grain", one of the major products of the Mesopotamian furrow. For this reason the constellation became associated with fertility. Leo/need Miku's first event card is during "Singing Among the Cherry Blossoms" which mostly centers around Ichika in her attempt in being more confident. Starting that moment, Ichika flourish into the singer we know.

Ogawa is taken from Ogawa Bimei (小川未明), the writer of Red Candles and the Mermaid (赤い蝋燭と人魚), The Moonlight and the Glasses (月夜と眼鏡), Wild Rose (野薔薇), and A Telegraph Pole and A Weird Man (電信柱と妙な男).

Rin: Arye Miyazawa

Arye is another name for the Leo constellation, called by the Jews. The constellation Leo is the Western equivalent of the constellation was called the "Great Lion" (UR.GU.LA) in Babylonian astronomy. The bright star of the constellation, Regulus, is also knows as "the star that stands at the Lion's breast." and had distinctly regal associations, as it was known as the King Star. Leo/need Rin's first appearance is during "Unnamed Harmony" which centers around Saki's struggles in making song. However, as Shiho had said, Saki had been helping everyone by being herself and be the first one to figure out the feelings they want to say. Thus, making Saki the central "star" of the ban, similar to Regulus's status as "the star that stands at the Lion's breast."

Miyazawa is taken from Miyazawa Kenji (宮沢賢治), the writer of Be Not Defeated by the Rain (雨ニモマケズ), Night on the Galactic Railroad (銀河鉄道の夜), The Restaurant of Many Orders (注文の多い料理店) and The Wind Child Matasaburou (風の又三郎).

Len: Bishop Oda

Bishop is a masculine name of English and Greek origin, from the word epískopos, meaning "overseer". In Babylonian star catalogues, "The Overseer" or "The God Pabilsaĝ" (PA.BIL.SAG) has a Western quivalent; Sagittarius. Pabilsaĝ was a Mesopotamian god. Not much is known about his role in Mesopotamian religion, though it is known that he could be regarded as a bow-armed warrior deity, as a divine cadastral officer or a judge. He might have also been linked to healing, though this remains disputed. Leo/need Len's first appearance is during "Putting Feelings into Words" where Honami takes the role of "overseer", the first one who noticed Shiho doing things behind their back and overall being the one in charge in taking care to her bandmates.

Oda is taken from Oda Sakunosuke (織田作之助), the writer of Hurray for Marriage (夫婦善哉) and The Paradox of Youth (青春の逆説).

Luka: Inanna Kikuchi

Inanna or the "Lady of the Heaven" (A.NU.NI.TUM) is one of the Babylonian constellation that compossed the western Pisces, along with "the great swallow" (ŠIM.MAḪ). Inanna is an ancient Mesopotamian goddess of love, war, and fertility. She is also associated with beauty, sex, divine law, and political power. In Inanna's Descent into the Underworld, Inanna perceives that Dumuzid, her first and primary consort, has failed to properly mourn her death and, when she returns from the Underworld, allows the galla demons to drag him down to the Underworld as her replacement. Inanna later regrets this decision and decrees that Dumuzid will spend half the year in the Underworld, but the other half of the year with her, while his sister Geshtinanna stays in the Underworld in his place, thus resulting in the cycle of the seasons. Leo/need Luka's first event card is during "Stella After the Rain" that centers around Saki wanting to do more for the band, especially after being sick for a long time. The change of the season in Inanna Underworld myth can represent her unstable health.

Kikuchi is taken from Kikuchi Kan (菊池寛), the writer of Beyond Love and Hate (恩讐の彼方に) and Madame Pearl (真珠夫人).

Meiko: Aquarius Natsume

Aquarius is identified as "The Great One" (GU.LA) in the Babylonian star catalogues and represents the god Ea himself, who is commonly depicted holding an overflowing vase. In Old Babylonian astronomy, Ea was the ruler of the southernmost quarter of the Sun's path, the "Way of Ea", corresponding to the period of 45 days on either side of winter solstice. Aquarius was also associated with the destructive floods that the Babylonians regularly experienced, and thus was negatively connoted. Leo/Need Meiko's first appearance is during "Don't Let Doubts Hold You Back" which centers around Honami standing up for herself. Her pacifist nature can be seen as both good thing and bac thing, whether becoming the middle voice of the group of seen as two-faced, similar to the nature of water used in irigation or bringer of floods.

Natsume is taken from Natsume Souseki (夏目漱石), the writer of Kokoro (こゝろ), Botchan (坊ちゃん), and I am a Cat (吾輩は猫である).

Kaito: Orion Akutagawa

In the Babylonian star catalogues, Orion is the Western equivalent to The Heavenly Shepherd or True Shepherd of Anu constellation (SIPA.ZI.AN.NA). Anu being the chief god of the heavenly realms. The Babylonian constellation is sacred to Papshukal and Ninshubur, both minor gods fulfilling the role of 'messenger to the gods'. Leo/need Kaito's first appearance is during "A Bright Future!!" which center around Ichika who wants to share her feelings through her lyrics, to be more confident in expressing through songs.

Akutagawa is taken from Akutagawa Ryuunosuke (芥川龍之介), the writer of Rashoumon (羅生門), Hell Screen (地獄変), and Cogwheels (歯車).

Miku: Narcissa Yamamoto

Narcissa is a girl's name of Greek origin, meaning "daffodil." Daffodils symbolize new beginnings and rebirth–two characteristics that perfectly represent the new year.  MMJ Miku's first event card is during "The Tomorrow We Hope For". The name can represent MMJ's whole journey; Haruka, Airi, and Shizuku having a renewal/rebirth as a new group idol along with Minori and her endless hope.

Yamamoto is taken from Yamamoto Yuuzou (山本有三), the writer of Towards the Truth (真実一路), A Woman's Life (女の一生), and A Stone by the Roadside (路傍の石).

Rin: Lily Tokunaga

Lily had two meanings: one as a sign of purity and magnificent beauty, and the other as a symbol of rebirth or resurrection. MMJ Rin's first event card is during "Time to RE:START!" which focuses of the group trying to find a way to get into the idol industry (you can say for their 'rebirth).

Tokunaga is taken from Tokunaga Sunao (徳永直), the writer of The Sunless Street (太陽のない街) and The Whole Family Works (はたらく一家).

Len: Lilach Takamura

Lilach is a version of the word "lilac". It is stronger and more masculine so it works well as a boy's name. Although lilac flower stands for renewal and confidence overall, each color of lilac has its own specific meaning. White lilacs represent purity and innocence, while purple lilacs symbolize spirituality. If the blooms edge more on the blue side of the color wheel, they symbolize happiness and tranquility. Magenta lilacs symbolize love and passion. MMJ Len first appearance is during "Happy Lovely Everyday!" which focuses on Airi's view on her past and present and how Airi from back then and now is really is the same.

Takamura is taken from Takamura Koutarou (高村光太郎), the writer of The Journey (道程) and Chieko's Sky (智恵子抄).

Luka: Amaryllis Kitahara

Amaryllis flowers are believed to mean pride, strength and determination as they stand tall above all other winter blooms. Amaryllis is also a Greek name which means 'to sparkle'. MMJ Luka's first appearance is during "My Color!" which focuses of Shizuku standing up as her own self instead of what the public wants to see.

Kitahara is taken from Kitahara Hakushuu (北原白秋), the writer of Paulownia Flowers (桐の花), Heretics (邪宗門), and Platinum Top (白金の独楽).

Meiko: Lavender Shiga

Lavender flowers tend to have a soothing effect on the surroundings. Lavender brings peace and harmony to the interactions between loved ones and is often considered a symbol of happiness, love, devotion, and protection. MMJ Meiko's first appearance is during "You Deserve It! Break Time!" which focuses on Shizuku in finding ways for Haruka to take a break, but this can also represent Haruka's love and devotion toward MMJ which is why she's working hard for them and managed to find "harmony" in her times.

Shiga is taken from Shiga Naoya (志賀直哉), the writer of Dark Night's Passing (暗夜行路), At Kinosaki (城の崎にて), Reconciliation (和解), and The Shopboy's God (小僧の神様).

Kaito: Aciano Dan

Aciano is a unique name that means "cornflower" in Spanish. This Mediterranean native flower represents natural beauty and the circle of life, and is often used to symbolise positive hope for the future. MMJ Kaito first appearance is during "MORE MORE Making Christmas" which centers Minori and her hope to get even better and spreading hope to the world as idol.

Dan is taken from Dan Kazuo (檀一雄), the writer of Man of a Burning House (火宅の人) and Dazai Osamu: The Novel (小説 太宰治).

Trixie is a name of Latin origin meaning "she who brings happiness." VBS Miku's first event card is during "Sekai Happy New Year". She's the only one who has no direct relation to a season, however this can be taken as each season can bring a certain happiness toward different people. This also represent VBS and how each and one of them brings happiness toward each others in their pursuit of their one dream.

Kobayashi is taken from Kobayashi Takiji (小林多喜二), the writer of The Crab Cannery Ship (蟹工船), The Absentee Landlord (不在地主), and Life of a Party Member (党生活者).

Rin: Florence Sakaguchi

Florence is a feminine name of Latin origin that comes from the word florentius which means "blossoming," "flourishing," and "prosperous," making it a wonderful choice to inspire good fortune for baby throughout their life.  VBS Rin's first event card is during "Awakening Beat" which focuses in Kohane (whose name is related to the spring season) gaining more confidence in singing.

Sakaguchi is taken from Sakaguchi Ango (坂口安吾), the writer of Professor Blowhard / Professor Wind (風博士) and Under the Blossoming Cherry Trees (桜の森の満開の下).

Len: Epiphany Nakahara

Epiphany is a typically masculine name of Greek origin that means "bringing light," "manifestation," "striking appearance," or "vision of God." The name comes from the Greek word epiphaneia, which means "a sudden realization or feeling." In Ancient Greece, epiphanies were usually representative of visions of gods and were normally reported during troubling times. VBS Len's first event card is during "Nocturne Interlude". Looking for a name related to the winter season for Touya, this name can represent to Touya's shift to street music, but also represent the realization his and his father's love for music albeit in different ways.

Nakahara is taken from Nakahara Chuuya (中原中也), the writer of Poems of the Goat (山羊の歌), Songs of Bygone Days (在りし日の歌), and Upon the Tainted Sorrow (汚れつちまつた悲しみに…)

Luka: Iclyn Naoki

Iclyn is a name of Welsh origin that comes from the word ice and means "compassionate".VBS Luka's first appearance is during "Same Dream, Same Color" which mostly focuses on Touya (whose name is related to winter season) and his bonds with his friends.

Naoki is taken from Naoki Sanjuugo (直木三十五), the writer of Chronicles of the Peaceful South (南国太平記), Battle (合戦), and Kusunoki Masashige (楠木正成)

Meiko: Aine Ozaki

Aine is a traditional Irish name that is tied with the Celtic goddess of summer and prosperity, means 'happiness and success'.  VBS Meiko's first event card is during "Singing in Sync" which focuses on An's (whose name related to summer season) and her view of the 'success' in being partners which becomes their crisis and later evolve to how An see her own crisis of looking for 'happiness and success' when she was feeling left behind.

Ozaki is taken from Ozaki Kouyou (尾崎紅葉), the writer of The Golden Demon (金色夜叉), Tears and Regrets (多情多恨), and Love Confessions of Two Nuns (二人比丘尼色懺悔)

Kaito: Hunter Murou

Hunter is an English name, meaning 'pursuer.' This name reflects the age-old role of the hunter and gatherers.  VBS Kaito's first appearance is during "Stray Bad Dog" event which focuses on Akito (whose name is related to autumn season) and all of his hardworking attempt in fulfilling his dream after a lost.

Murou is taken from Muroo Saisei (室生犀星), the writer of Lyric Pieces (抒情小曲集) and Love Poem Collection (愛の詩集)

Wonderland x Showtime

Miku: Snowdrop Edogawa

Snowdrop is one of the translations of the Snow White's name. Snow White from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) is the first Disney Princess, the first main character, and the first heroine of a Disney animated feature. Snow White is well known for her kindness and optimism — both of which act as her greatest strengths, as they've guided her safely through the various hardships faced throughout her life. She can also be assertive, with the authoritative nature of a mother. In addition, she showed leadership potential when guiding the animals around the house during their cleaning session, successfully instructing them on how to best clean the house and various items inside. WxS Miku's first event appearance is during "Run! Sports Festival! Committee Rush". Emu, being one of the main star of the event, is shown to have the skill to influence people with her cheerfulness, big heart, and love of smiles. Her optimism in a way is similar to Snow White for they always find a way to reach their goal, even if it's as simple as "finding a safe place to stay" for Snow White or "making a festival filled with smile" for Emu.

Edogawa is taken from Edogawa Ranpo (江戸川乱歩), the writer of The Case of the Murder on D Hill (D坂の殺人事件) and The Fiend with Twenty Faces (怪人二十面相).

Rin: Pleiades Tayama

Pleiades, or The Seven Sisters, is the name of seven star cluster close to the constellation Taurus. It is also the middle name of Jim Hawkins, the protagonist of Disney's Treasure Planet (2002). Jim is an adventurous young lad; rebellious, strong-willed, brave, caring, and loyal. A bad boy with a heart of gold. However, he has his insecurity, wondering if he can't do anything right. Finding treasure planet is his calling to finally fix something. WxS Rin's first Wonderland x Showtime centric event appearance is during "Wonder Magical Showtime!" where Tsukasa put aside his desire to win the whole PXL's competition in order to make Emu's dream come true. Tsukasa and Jim is almost similar, from their desire of something more (Tsukasa with his future star dream and Jim desire for adventure) but has insecurities and pulled them away from truly expressing themselves.

Tayama is taken from Tayama Katai (田山花袋), the writer of The Quilt (蒲団) and Country Teacher (田舎教師).

Len: Briar Dazai

Briar (Rose) is an alias for Princess Aurora is the titular character of Disney's Sleeping Beauty (1959). Aurora is a kind, elegant, graceful, angelic, loving, and gentle person, as well as a hopeless romantic. At first, she is seen as a slightly shy, playful and carefree young woman as a result of being sheltered for most of her life. Aurora is very loyal and honest to her "aunts" and usually obeys their rules respectfully, even though she may disagree with them. WxS Len's first event appearance is during "Smile of a Dreamer" which focuses in Emu and her attempt in making her grandpa's vision. Both Emu and Aurora are dreamers even though the situations push them down (Emu with her brothers, Aurora with her royal status), but in the end both of their dream comes true with the help of many. Coincidentally, Emu's event song and Sleeping Beauty's theme song is titled "Once Upon a Dream".

Dazai is taken from Dazai Osamu (太宰治), the writer of No Longer Human (人間失格) and Run, Melos! (走れメロス).

Luka: Rapunzel Hori

Rapunzel is the protagonist of Disney's Tangled (2010). A dreamer at heart, she's a spirited and determined young woman. Because of her sheltered up bringing, she can be rather anxious and having a low self-esteem. However, that doesn't stop her from stepping out her comfort zone and take on the unknown for the sake of experiencing her dreams. Despite being fearful and at times hesitant, she pushes herself forward to pursue her ambitions. WxS Luka's first Wonderland x Showtime centric event appearance is during "Mermaid Admiration". Both Nene and Rapunzel stepping up to finally fulfilling their dream, and now they're looking for a new dream.

Hori is taken from Hori Tatsuo (堀辰雄), the writer of The Holy Family (聖家族), The Wind Has Risen (風立ちぬ), and Naoko (菜穂子).

Meiko: Ursa Mushanokouji

Ursa Major is a constellation in the northern sky, whose associated mythology likely dates back into prehistory. Ursa Major is primarily known from the asterism of its main seven stars, which has been called the "Big Dipper", "the Wagon", "Charles's Wain", or "the Plough", among other names. In particular, the Big Dipper's stellar configuration mimics the shape of the "Little Dipper". Dipper is also the name of the main character in the Disney TV Series Gravity Falls (2012-14). Dipper is a adventurer, clever, curious and may be a bit short-temperament. Throughout the series Dipper becomes more confident in himself, has learned to have hope in the doubtful times, and become stronger when facing his enemies to stand up for what he believes in. WxS Meiko's first appearance is during "On This Holy Night, I Sing" where Nene slowly grows confident in herself once again on stage, similar to Dipper's growth.

Mushanokouji is taken from Mushanokouji Saneatsu (武者小路実篤), the writer of Good-Natured Person (お目出たき人) and Friendship (友情).

Kaito: Eliseo Satou

Eliseo has the meaning "God is my salvation", which is in line with Elizabeth that means "My God is an oath" or "My God is abundance". Elizabeth itself can be derived into Elsa, which is a name of the deuteragonist from Frozen (2013). When she was little, Elsa was still quite playful and used her magic to have fun and goof off. However, after accidentaly hurt her sister, she became terrified of losing control and chose isolation for other's protection. WxS Kaito's first event appearance is during "It's On! Wonder Halloween!" where Rui's robot accidentaly hurt Tsukasa, thus he hold back with his more daring idea, similar to Elsa. It was only after Tsukasa reasured Rui that Rui can return as his confident self, in a similar way how Anna tells Elsa that she loves her that Elsa can return summer.

Satou is taken from Satou Haruo (佐藤春夫), the writer of Melancholy in the Country (田園の憂鬱) and The House of a Spanish Dog (西班牙犬の家).

Miku: Calypso Shimazaki

Calypso is a name of Greek origin meaning "she who hides". Niigo Miku's first event appearance is during "Imprisoned Marionette", a Mafuyu focus event. The meaning of "shw who hides" can means of Mafuyu hiding her emptiness from her mother and the public behind her smile. However, she no longer hides when she was with Niigo. In addition, this can also means she no longer "hide" under her mother's shadow, slowly realizing her trueself even when her mother always trying to keep her hidden.

Shimazaki is taken from Shimazaki Touson (島崎藤村), the writer of The Broken Commandment (破戒), A New Life (新生), and Before the Dawn (夜明け前).

Rin: Aurora Izumi

Aurora is girl's name of Latin origin meaning "dawn". Aurora is the name of the Roman goddess of sunrise whose tears turned into the morning dew. She was said to renew herself by traveling from East to West across the sky, announcing the arrival of the sun each dawn. Aurora is also associated with the scientific term for the Northern Lights, Aurora Borealis. Auroras occur when charged particles (electrons and protons) collide with gases in Earth's upper atmosphere. Those collisions produce tiny flashes that fill the sky with colourful light. As billions of flashes occur in sequence, the auroras appear to move or " dance " in the sky. Niigo Rin's first appearance is during "Insatiable Pale Color", an Ena focus event. Aurora or the Nothern Lights is known for its beautiful colors which is in-line with Ena and her painting. Similar to the creation of Aurora, there are may collision in Ena's journey with her painting talent, many ups and down, but with her brush dancing on her colorful canvas, one day she will create something that she can finally call "beautiful".

Izumi is taken from Izumi Kyouka (泉鏡花), the writer of The Holy Man of Mount Kouya (高野聖) and A Woman's Pedigree (婦系図).

Meiko: Penelope Hagiwara

Penelope is a feminine name of Greek origin. It translates from its original tongue to "weaver" and can be traced as far back as the Ancient Greeks as depicted in Homer's Odyssey. Niigo Meiko's first appearance is during "Secret Distance", a Mizuki focus event. Mizuki is known to be the one with the cute appearance, especially in fashion, hence the "weaving" meaning. However, this can also reflected in their journey of weaving their identity and new relationship with the rest of the cast, starting with Niigo and Rui, and expanding to many.

Hagiwara is taken from Hagiwara Sakutarou (萩原朔太郎), the writer of Howling at the Moon (月に吠える), Blue Cat (青猫), and Icy Island (氷島).

Luka: Aria Niimi

Aria is an Italian name that means "song or melody" while also translating to the word "air," for a light and breezy. In opera, arias mostly appear during a pause in dramatic action when a character is reflecting on their emotions. Niigo Luka's first appearance is during "Carnation Recollection", a Kanade focus event. Kanade is the composer of the group, thus has created many of their song. Especially in this event, when Kanade is struggling to make a song for Mafuyu, she reached for for her feeling from back then. So, you can say that this song is Kanade's aria.

Niimi is taken from Niimi Nankichi (新美南吉), the writer of Gon the Little Fox (ごん狐) and Buying Mittens (手袋を買いに).

Len: Diggory Kume

Diggory is a French name that means "lost one". Niigo Len's first appearance is during "Guiding a Lost Child to What Lies Beyond", a Mafuyu focus event. We can take this for Mafuyu, feeling lost and conflicted because of her mother. This can also reference to the feeling she lost before but slowly return by being with Niigo.

Kume is taken from Kume Masao (久米正雄), the writer of Notes of a Student Examinee (受験生の手記), Shipwreck (破船), and Father's Death (父の死).

Kaito: Brio Ishikawa

Brio is an Italian name translated directly to "vivacity, zest." In music, the term is used to describe a piece with brilliance and energy; often Mozart's pieces contain "brio." Niigo Kaito's first appearance is during "Immiscible Discord", a Kanade focus event. While the event doesn't have an explicit "brilliance and energy" is does turn a new page in Mafuyu emotion, some more fiesty in Kaito. This can also refer to Kanade's interaction with Mother Asahina, how she stood up for Mafuyu's sake, a spark of protective energy because Kanade cares for Mafuyu's well-being.

Ishikawa is taken from Ishikawa Takuboku (石川啄木), the writer of A Handful of Sand (一握の砂) and Sad Toys (悲しき玩具).

Hi! I keep seeing ppl debating if SQQ's eyes are canonically green or black. What do you think? Somebody said SQQ's eyes are green in the cover, but if you think otherwise, why? If you've discussed about this before in your page, may I see the link?

Hey! I posted this one on my meta blog (this might be what actually stirred up the discussion), but I still need to update the post there to include the timeline and all relevant information provided by various commenters.

Anyway, I'll go ahead and give a little summary here.

SQQ has black eyes in the novel, and they're explicitly described that way (黑， 乌黑 specifically, color words meaning black and crow-black (like jet black)).

This means that a depiction of SQQ with green eyes is contrary to novel canon.

At some point, people on the wiki said his eyes were described as 青 (qing）which is turquoise green/blue. I'm not exactly sure where this came from, but one very, very loose potential for this could be a misreading of the following description: 眉清目秀 which is used to describe the appearance of a young SJ. It's possible, perhaps, that the character 清 (clear) here was accidentally misread as 青 （green/blue) but i don't think that's a particularly easy misreading, especially since in that phrase the 清 is linked to 眉 （brows) instead of 目（eyes). But anything is possible, and this is the only place in the novel I could find reference to "clear eyes" in regards to SQQ, and the only potential way this misreading could have basis in the novel. Either way, his eyes are never described as 青, so that's an incorrect assumption.

So, the only thing I really consider canon proper is the novel itself, but that's my own stance. A wider stance would be considering the novel as primary canon, while the donghua/manhua are secondary canon, and things like official art could be tertiary canon. In this framework, details included in the donghua that aren't in the novel but aren't contradicted by it would also be considered wider canon and fill in those gaps, while things that contradict the novel would be canon as well, but specifically alternate, donghua canon. The same would apply to official art-- if it doesn't contradict the donghua or novel, it fills the gap, otherwise it's another kind of alternate canon.

Under this wider system, then Shen Qingqiu's canon eye color would go this way:

Primary canon - Black eyes Secondary Canon - Grey Eyes Tertiary Canon - Black, Grey, or Green Eyes

So depending on what you consider canon, then the answer can change-- but in my opinion, the novel overrides other sources.

Okay, so let's go into the secondary and tertiary canons, then. On the post on my meta blog that I linked earlier, in the replies and reblogs, there are some references about the evolution of SQQ's character design in donghua and fanart, so I'll leave those explanations to speak for themselves.

Though the English edition has the most vivid green eyes in character design, it is NOT the only cover art with green-eyed SQQ!

Green-eyed SQQ is not exclusively a western fandom thing. I mean, on some levels, it makes sense for character design-- matching his eyes to his clothing color.

Personally, I wouldn't call it canon. And I think if anyone does want to claim it's canon (via the tiered system), that it would be a good idea to preface that you're going off of alternate canon instead of novel canon, so that it's not used as an argument when the discussion is specifically centered on novel canon.

There is a level of canonicity to either green-eyed or grey-eyed SQQ, but such depictions still contradict the novel, even if supported by other mediums, since his eyes are specifically described as black there.

I guess, it depends on how you want to define canon at the end of the day. I'm not here to tell other people how to play in their own sandboxes, I just personally like to play in novel canon only so that's my stance on it.

I won't keep this up for very long, but I think I do owe it to all my mutuals, followers and those who'd just browse on occasion or who found a safe space in this blog.

My previous account under the same name disappeared about a week ago, and it was sudden enough that I'm sure some of you may have chalked it up to Tumblr deactivating it. In actuality, it was because I deleted it myself.

I haven't been in the best mental state as of recently, even before I first started the blog, but I thought things would get better over time. My intention isn't to turn this into a rant or vent, so I won't expand but, I think all the self-imposed pressure I was placing on myself to write, paired with other factors had just pushed me to the point of breaking. I had a panic attack, and didn't give myself the time to calm down and think things through after, when I had decided to just give up.

My biggest regret is not making at least one final post, because I know how jarring it can be to have someone there one second, and find out they're gone the next. I can't imagine the worry I put some of my friends on here through, nor can I ever apologise enough that I still won't feel guilty.

I have a habit of leaving abruptly like that when I'm overwhelmed. Every time I promise myself I won't do it again, I end up breaking it. At the very least, this time, I'll try and have realistic expectations of myself and take breaks when I need them instead of impulsively deleting weeks and months of time and effort.

It's ironic to me because I'm the type of person who saves every single thing I write just in case anything happens, but I didn't do that with most of the content that I had on this blog — because I wasn't expecting things to turn out this way. Some of my works are probably still floating around Tumblr thanks to reblogs, so if anyone sees anything and lets me know, it'd help me find them again. For the most part, I'll probably have to start over from scratch anyway.

Unfortunately, all my unanswered asks are also gone, and I had a lot of them. I'll try to put out things for the ones I can remember somewhat. If you've sent any in that I never came around to, you're free to send them in again if you still want a response.

This got lengthier than I anticipated, but I hope it was a sufficient enough explanation. I'm sincerely sorry for any distress or just negative feelings I may have caused. I'm sorry to my mutuals who I left without even trying to talk to. I'm sorry that I took away a safe space for some of my followers, because I used to get the sweetest messages about how my writing helped and how my ocs would make everything feel less lonely. I truly hope this can become a place like that again. I'm gonna try my absolute best.

Why I'll Be Remaining in the Lurking For Love Community

Ok.

Honestly, I really don't want to make this.

I'm way too old for fandom drama, and I don't need to be making myself a target. My gut is telling me that it's a bad idea to get involved, and I'm inviting trouble for myself by posting this.

But the most recent post against Tom is just ridiculous and I can't not speak my piece.

I'm not linking to it or reblogging it because I don't want to send hate anyone's way, and honestly because I'm going to block them as soon as this is posted. You can read mine and theirs for yourself and decide what you think.

As far as the “anti-Latino” posts that Tom liked, I can't speak to whether they do damage, or what Tom’s views actually are. I am not Latino, and I'm not Tom. It's not my place. But I will say I was aware of those posts long before I saw that “callout” post, and it's because multiple Latino artists I follow liked and retweeted them. At the time, I was given to understand that they were satirizing the fact that both were styles of stereotypes, but one was acceptable while the other was not, despite both being bad. I can't say, based on just those tweets, that I see any anti-Latino sentiment in Tom. I'm willing to admit that my knowledge on that front isn't bomb-proof.

The second point, well... I'm sorry to the friend that feels used. They're entitled to be hurt. And I will readily admit that I'm only able to respond to the info within that post. Maybe there IS more to it.

But I don't think that Tom ceasing contact over the hormones is surprising at all, from a mental health standpoint. Put yourself in his shoes: you're a trans person in US, which is its own struggle, and you've reached your mid/early 20s without being able to attain gender-affirming care. Now someone years younger than you just got the thing you want more than anything else. Sure, you might be happy for them. But that is also going to hurt, horribly. You really have three options:

1) stay friends and smother the bitterness/possible resentment. That will either end up ruining your mental health, or coming out and ruining the friendship anyway.

2) Ask your friend not to tell you/post about their transition. That makes it about you and also ruins something that should make them happy.

3) Distance yourself.

Maybe he should have spoken more directly with you about his feelings, granted. But, Tom has not been shy about the fact that he struggles with his mental health. None of us handle every situation well. As far as his occasional venting, I would think, if you WERE his friend, you might have some compassion, and either cease contact if the friendship is not fulfilling, or accept his sincere, well-written apology (Which are the ONLY words straight from Tom’s mouth on the entire fucking post).

Instead, you got the apology from him, and then shared a bunch of gossip between you and another friend, and outed your interpretations of his vent sessions to the world. That's not exactly classy, posting about how he sought people he felt safe with during a time when a big chunk of the community he built is telling him to do horrible things to himself.

I want to make it clear that I don't agree with all of Tom’s views as expressed on his initial explanation post. Again, many of them are issues that I don't feel are my place to get involved in, and therefore I stayed quiet at the time.

I'm aware that the justified and intense hurt felt by people in those communities can mean that even differing opinions feel like a slap in the face. You have every right to see Tom’s views as hurtful and choose to leave, and/or make a separate community for support. I don't blame people who are in those communities for doing so. This post is aimed at the obsessed minority that won't leave the tag/remaining fans/Tom alone.

All of the above being said, the reaction to Tom’s post is the most “touch grass” thing I have ever seen.

Tom liking one or two comics from a dark-humor comic artist so widespread on the internet that I didn't even know he had an actual page, or anything about him as a person (something Tom also stated) = Tom is a Nazi sympathizer.

Tom saying “I don't care for neopronouns, but I won't attack you for using them and will respect what everyone wants to be called” = Tom is a monstrous bigot.

The racism accusation has me especially 💀. All because he liked a post about help from an unexpected source and that we should be kinder to each other.

How on earth are you going to tell a POC that he doesn't know what racism is because he’s NOT THE RIGHT KIND OF POC? Do you hear yourself?

(FWIW, I also don't agree with kink at pride. Sorry. LGBTQ+ people are not "narsty little freaks"--yeah I SAW that post--they're people. They can be kinky, they can be vanilla, whatever. Kink has nothing to do with your orientation, and therefore it isn't part of Pride. Also, my guys, if you're having public sex/being nude at pride for kink reasons, then you're not part of the healthy kink community: safe, sane, and CONSENSUAL. Nobody around you consented to that. Similarly, while I feel that sex education for minors should be normalized in order to give them better tools to tell when they're being groomed, seeing strangers with no pants on is NOT education, that's involving minors in your fetish. And that's fucking gross. )

The LGBTQ+ community in the US is in a lot of trouble right now, and we have a very bad habit of eating our own. We divide and subdivide and allow ourselves to be carved up by a united conservative front.

We do not allow for differing levels of leftist beliefs, and we constantly accuse each other of being not POC/leftists/queer enough, or being the wrong kind, or using a term for ourselves that some other individuals don't like. A great deal of the bullying leveled against him is justified by others saying that he's choosing to support a party that will turn on him and cause him and others like him harm.

Well, to be honest, the only community I see doing that right now is this one.

The amount of disingenuous “OMG, just FYI everyone to everyone hurt by [situation], I’M not transphobic/a bigot, you're all welcome here 😌” posts from people, who did not read his post, did not link to or quote his post. Disgusting. You know very well that nothing in his explanation or in his actions throughout his time in the community pointed to any abuse ON HIS PART towards trans people, non-binary people, people of the Jewish faith, or POC. You're virtue signaling, you're putting lambs blood above your door to keep the baying mob away.

This is insane. When did differing opinions turn into this? You don't have to agree with Tom’s views on anything. You're welcome to not follow his accounts, not like his art, not buy his game. If you feel that his opinions are too severely different from yours, you should be allowed to leave the fandom without people telling you that you should do bad things to yourself because your opinions don't match theirs (sound familiar?).

But…please. Can we stop with this awful parasocial obsession with his personal page? You can't lie to yourself and call it anything other than literal stalking. It's creepy as hell, and it reflects more on you than on him, in the long run. People might agree with your outrage, but deep down, they're afraid of being the next target, and they stay quiet out of fear that you'll stalk them next and send a mob hurling abuse their way.

To Tom, I'm sorry that this happened to you. You didn't deserve anything even close to this level of vitriol and abuse. You started from scratch and created a character and story that I feel was something truly unique. You reached an incredible number of people's hearts with Lurking for Love and Jacob, and no matter what happens from here with both of them, you deserve to feel proud of that. I hope that you are ok. Being a public figure on the internet doesn't mean you don't have a right to private opinions or even just general privacy.

I'm not tagging any characters in this. I'm only tagging the game because I hope other fans get to see that they're not alone. I don't believe the tags should be polluted this way. If you have to discuss a creator, it should be in his tag and not in a fandom space.

@omega-puppy has a neat account, again I'll give a heads up that they post nsfw on their acc a lot, but it's not exclusively nsfw; they have other posts too. We aren't mutuals (they are following me though, hi!!!) but I see them in my notes a lot and tend to reblog a lot of their sfw or close to sfw text posts. From what I've seen I think they're poly/have multiple mates, but if I'm mistaken I'm sure it'll get cleared up in comments/reblogs.

Last but certainly not least, @transalpha-coining . They're inactive nowadays but they have a TON of treasures stored up on that blog if you're willing to scroll through it. Headcanons and flags and explanations of worldbuilding stuff, plus they used to take asks/requests. They even invented words for things, like "kappa" as an omega version of "feminine", which regardless of whether you like the word is definitely a super cool thing to do. Clarice looked strangely at the message that had just arrived on her mobile phone; it could only mean one thing, and perhaps all the peace of mind they had had so far could be interrupted.

Clarice arrived at the place at the appointed time. She had not stopped having that strange feeling; she simply wanted to know what was going on. A few minutes later, out of the shadows, Steve came out.

“What's going on, Cap? “she asked, and she could immediately see the concern on his face.

“Clarice, I need your help, rather than that of the mutants in the underground," Steve said in a serious tone, sighing before continuing to speak. “The Sokovia Accords are affecting all superheroes, but especially the mutants; several are being locked up, and you know exactly what will follow."

Clarice frowned. This time the situation looked bleaker; they didn't want to be on the run again, being chased by the Sentinels again.

“I'm with you, Cap, but I'll need more detailed explanations. How can we help?"

“I need to get Bucky to safety, and then we can plan a good strategy to make it clear to Congress that Ross is completely wrong," Steve replied.

“Marcos and John can handle that; maybe they'll need Lorna's help. We could use Esme to convince them.

“No, no powers; it has to be with arguments," Steve asked, still hoping that he could convince them that Bucky wasn't the culprit.

“Cap, sometimes humans can be complicated. No offense."

“What I need is for Bucky to be safe; he's not."

“I know, Esme told us, but you should be careful with Stark; he won't hesitate for a second to betray them," Clarice warned.

“Could you also help me get the evidence?"

“We could try; I can't say for sure."

Clarice made some calls; they had to come up with a plan fast. For all they knew, everything was moving too fast in too short a time, and they were sure that in less than a week, they wouldn't be safe anymore.

“Cap, no matter what happens, just remember that the cost they will have to pay if they make the mistake of approving them will be very large in the future because they will never be able to call or assemble a team in time," Clarice said.

Steve looked around, trying to understand what had just happened. He didn't understand how it was possible that they hadn't been able to stop Thanos; they just hadn't had enough time to put together an effective plan, but it really wasn't their fault.

He turned to look at the group of mutants. He could almost hear them repeating to him what Clarice had told him a few years earlier. He had no reason to feel guilty now.

“How is it possible that they didn't stop him? How are we supposed to deal with this whole mess?“ Ross snapped.

“That's none of our business. A few years ago, someone told me that the cost you would have to pay in the future for approving the Accords would be very high, and so it is. Hold yourself and all those who approved them responsible; since you failed to detect a threat in time, find a solution," Steve said, then stood up and left the room.

this isn't whining, this is an explanation and a request for information. if not, I may not be active anymore

So recently I've become a more disciplined and driven person. If you don't know, I'm in college and I have a job. I've recently realized my dream and have set aside hours of my time to dedicate to it. I've also put more time towards things like skincare and exercise and meditation etc. Why am I saying this? Because after hours of productivity, I have a gap. Free hours where I don't have anything that needs to be done. This is where I decide to write for you guys. And every time I do, I wonder if it's a good use of my time. I wonder if I should use that little time for video games instead.

You are free to ignore this, but just being transparent, that makes it more possible that I don't log in again. I used to be afraid of addressing this head on as to not offend or upset you guys, but honestly vitriol and annoyance would be better than the embarrassing silence I'm met with. This isn't coming from high levels of emotion, I'm actually very calm and kind of excited to finally get this off my chest. These are just the facts of what's going on in my brain.

If you just want to know what to do to guarantee I'll stay, scroll to the bottom of this. If you don't care that much, that's cool too.

I'm working on Mosquito part three because I realize it's been much too long since it's been updated. I'm busy, but still. And I can't even have fun with the story I admittedly really like because the entire time I'm overthinking. You see, when a story doesn't get notes, that in itself isn't the problem. The problem is what's in between the lines. Did this not get notes because people didn't like it? Does this topic bore them? Do they not like idol/celebrity aus? And while I'm writing, I can't stop nitpicking what I think is causing the eerie silence.

I used to be spoiled. Fics like loosen up, brat/slut, oblivious were very well received. I would be reblogging feedback constantly, see notes fill up my notification center, I would get the message. I did take a lengthy hiatus and stopped updating as fast, but when I finally came back, people would never guess my follower count by my engagement.

Don't be fooled though, this number has been hovering around this for possibly a year, maybe even longer. It dips and then rises by a few and then dips again. Repeat. I started to think that this just wasn't a lot of followers. In the grand scheme of things, it ain't. But then I look on my dash and see a writer thank their readers for 300 followers. I click on their page and a fic they posted yesterday have ONE HUNDRED times more notes than a fic I posted several months ago. And it's not just a fluke, most of their fics are this way. People who have been writing as long as I have and have a similar follower count (I assume) have very high note counts as well. Some of them even have spotty posting schedules and have had lengthy hiatuses.

Again, I want to stress that this isn't coming from heightened emotions or jealousy. Honestly it's mostly confusion. Wondering if I did something wrong. The closest I've gotten to getting emotional is with the embarrassment. I see other creators get flooded with asks and response to their normal posts just talking about their day. And when I do it, radio silence. Again, this sometimes happens with writers with a fraction of my follower count.

I'll make a confession. I have been sending myself anon asks. Which ones are me? That's for sherlock holmes to deduce. Why did I do it? I've already admitted it, it's embarrassment. I feel embarrassed when I post something and am met with crickets. I honestly feel pathetic.

I am diagnosed with anxiety so I'll chalk up the following to that: I have come to the conclusion that I annoy you guys. Even that I annoy other writers since I don't have many writer friends on here. It's gotten to the point where I feel like every interaction I make with anyone on this website in any way is annoying someone. When I changed my theme and no one commented on it at all, My mind automatically went to "God the theme is obnoxious and embarrassing" and I already want to change it despite all the time I put into it.

Can you see now why I dread opening up Tumblr? I dread opening up docs of my fics for this reason. Idk how to transition so I'll just pivot to my next point.

My fics have a head scratching amount of notes. This started around when I posted Industry Babies and Amusement, when I was genuinely shocked by the lack of notes. I stopped Mortal Sin out of embarrassment because I posted a part and it only had ONE note for DAYS. Let me show you the best performing recent fic:

This is Mosquito pt. 1. I'm very proud of this! It made me so eager to continue the series. In hindsight, this is still a negligible amount of notes, and a chunk of these are ICYMI reblogs from me, but I'm still happy about it. Here's part two even with a lot of ICYMI reblogs:

I'll be honest, this was a head scratcher. This has barely budged since then, too. The message I ultimately received is that people won't read if there is 0 smut. Well? That fucking sucks because this is a slow burn fic! And honestly I don't want to throw in Soobin randomly fucking random girls just so people will read.

I also recently posted the final part of FUML. Final parts always get the most notes (I always assumed people just skipped to the last part which always perplexed me) and here's how that did (with ICYMI reblogs):

This is so so good and I'm so grateful. And it got a lot of notes very fast.

Now I did two requested fics, mind you this is the amount of notes they got with NO ICYMI reblogs:

Now, I'm about to say that this is pretty damn good, because I actually think so and I'm thankful for it. But every so often I kinda sit there and think about how it feels like I'm begging for pocket change. This feels so conceited and ungrateful of me. But remember, the reason why we're even talking about this is because my time has become a lot more valuable, and to be frank, the notes are making writing fanfics seem like a bad way to spend my time.

I'll be sad to go, but after all this, you have to understand while I'm hesitant to stay. I'd have to be a narcissist to think anyone actually sat and read through all this so I'll do a little TL/DR:

The lack of engagement has changed from a little disappointing to mixed signals being sent about what you guys want (hence all the polls)

The lack of banter and casual asks or just engagement to my casual posts has made me a little embarrassed compared to writers with similar follower counts or less followers

The simple act of not liking a post affects the overall notes and can harm the chances of a fic being posted, or send a message about what you want to see

I get the unreasonable feeling I annoy you guys and other writers so frankly it makes opening tumblr or interacting with this blog in any way just. not. fun.

I forgot to add this in the doc but to be frank (again), it kind of annoys me to see a fic get little to no interaction, and then I reblog a picture of an idol and all of a sudden my followers are acting. Juuuust being honest.

As a reader who doesn't want to see you go, what can I do?

Be honest! Now, I'm not asking for lengthy dissertations on why my writing is bad. I'm not looking for writing criticism. What I am looking for is for the people who are silent readers or just straight up scroll past what I post, tell me why. Don't be afraid to hurt my feelings. Is it my posting schedule (or lack thereof)? Is it because you just don't feel the same as you did when you read my older stuff? Or do you just never bother with pressing the buttons? The silence is worse than whatever you have to say.

Let me know that you always press like on my fics, but are just a bit shy and don't like leaving comments or asks. This is totally fine by the way, knowing you exist is enough.

Be more active from now own, reply to posts, send asks, reblog and just keyboard smash in the replies. ANYTHING is good. Don't take this as me scolding you, just as a suggestion in case you wanted to know how to help.

My headcanon in the post-DR3 world

I'm preparing a short manga for Nagito's birthday, but I thought it might not make sense without my headcanon explanation, so I put it together here.

*I set this post to reblog prohibit because this is basically an explanation of my manga.

*This post is already a bit long, but I actually have a lot more headcanons, so maybe I'll add some of them from time to time.

■ The situation of Hinata and Class 77-B after the DR3 Hope Arc:

Hinata and Class 77-B (from now on, I will be writing Hinata's team) are set up as a separate organization from the Future Foundation, traveling around the world by ship to eliminate the remnants of despair and restore the world. (This means everyone did not return to Jabberwock Island, but continued their journey directly on the ship they used to leave Jabberwock Island).

The reason they did not return to Jabberwock Island is because it is land owned by the Future Foundation. Since the killing spree at the Future Foundation was allegedly masterminded by Hinata's team, they cannot return there.

However, the world is not an environment in which they can live without the support of the Future Foundation, so they are actually connected to members like Naegi and others who know the truth.

Naegi and his team have the critical project of rebuilding Hope's Peak Academy, so they basically stay in Japan most of the time and cannot immediately address problems that occur outside of Japan. Therefore, Hinata's team mainly deal with problems outside of Japan. (Basically, they communicate with each other through telecommunications using a specially prepared line.)

Basically, Hajime Hinata's presence is kept secret (not strictly, but the people around him realize that it would be better if he did not appear in public as much as possible), so once Hinata's team have temporarily dealt with the problem, they will leave the area and the Future Foundation will take care of the follow-up. (The Future Foundation employees who do not know the truth simply perceive that another unit of their organization took care of the problem before them. They do not know that it was Hinata's team who took care of it.)

■ Additional information about post-3 Hajime Hinata:

He made two promises to everyone on his team.

Not using Izuru Kamukura's talents against teammates. Because he could control the will of his teammates if he wanted to, so he promises not to use Kamukura's talents against his teammates except in emergency situations, whether good or bad.

Never be alone. (Always be with someone.) He can use Kamukura's talents, but between after SDR2 and the 3rd Hope Arc, he used his talents so much that he once became "void" as a result of overusing his talents. The state called “void" is also one of my head canons. This occurs as a reaction to overworking his brain. Once this happens, all of his senses will be shut down for a while, and he won't be able to move at all. Recovery time varies from case to case, but usually ranges from 3 to 7 days. The heart and other minimal organs will still work, but he will not be able to eat or do anything else, so he will die if he has no way to eat and excrete. To prevent him from getting into this very dangerous situation, he cannot use his talents excessively, and people around him do not allow it, and this rule was put in place to deal with him in case he becomes void. To enforce this rule, Komaeda accompanies Hinata as a watcher; when Hinata is in his room, the Observer AI (Chiaki Nanami) watches Hinata.

■ Post-3 Nagito Komaeda:

He is supposed to be Hajime's watcher, so his role is basically to be at Hajime's side. The reason he was put in the role of watching over Hinata was because Hinata's teammates thought he would have a high chance of survival even in a critical situation thanks to his talent. Another reason is the problem of not being able to deal with anyone but Hinata.

The only thing he has to do is to make sure that Hinata is not left alone, so he may not be with Hinata if someone else accompanies him.

■ Observer AI (Chiaki Nanami) :

After Hajime awoke from the NWP, he used one of Kamukura's talents, the Ultimate Programmer talent, to restore the NWP's Observer AI, because as a result of using Kamukura's talents to predict the future, he found that he alone would not be able to do enough to take care of his returning friends. The restored Observer AI provided mental care for those who returned. After everyone's mental health was restored to some degree, she remained aboard the ship as one of the companions. (One of her roles is to monitor Hinata during bedtime.)

■ Izuru Kamukura:

In my headcanon, his ego exists as a separate entity from Hajime Hinata even in post-3, but it basically does not appear on the surface. He may appear on the surface when needed, but almost never, as it would cause Hinata's brain to become overloaded.

Hinata can talk to him. Technically speaking, it can only predict what Kamukura is likely to say using Kamukura's talents. However, the accuracy of the predictions is so high that the results are equivalent to having a conversation with Kamukura. Due to this fact, Hinata will get tired if he talks to Kamukura a lot.

Bc while I know what the correct translation should be I can't quite put together why an answer with just the 22-shift would be close if the decoder is just using the regular alphabet but completely off when using a 27 letter alphabet of A through +. There's three important parts to this so I'll go through them in order

Firstly, the hint is about Julius Caesar, hinting at the fact that the later text is encoded by a Caesar cipher. This is a cryptographic method where you move all the letters forward a certain amount (called the shift) of letters in the alphabet. So a caesar cipher with a right shift of 1 shifts all the letters one space forward, eg. A -> B, X -> Y. Generally the right shift is the default so I left it at that. A better hint would have also incorporated the right part but eh I'm not perfect.

Secondly, I talk about 23 people stabbing him, which indicates a shift of 23, giving us the following conversion table:

where the top row is the original letters and the bottom is the shifted letter values. If we left it at this and tried to decode the message we'd get:

Which is very much not correct. Now, we can cheat a little and change this to a 22-shift cipher (which is not correct) and get the following:

Then we see something comprehensible, but not quite correct: there's some random B's, C's and D's in there and still some plusses in the middle of words. Regardless, you can make out from this wrong result what the message was supposed to be (an oversight on my part, and something I will take into account if/when I do it again)

And now comes the spicy part!

Thirdly, I say "a little (+) at the end" which (as you correctly identified in your ask) refers to the fact that I didn't use the default 26-letter alphabet, but instead used a slightly modified 27-letter alphabet with a + at the end, so we'd have the following letter order (I'll be referring to this as alphabet+ for brevity)

If we try to decode the message as a 23-rightshift caesar cipher with alphabet+, we get the following conversion table and message:

NOW FOR THE GOOD STUFF

But now we finally get to your question: why does the regular 22-shift almost work if it's totally wrong for alphabet+?

For that, we can consider the equivalent left-shift operations of our right-shift decodings:

For any standard alphabet caesar cipher, the 26-shift (left or right) operation is the same as the unencoded version (because A + 26 spaces is once again A), which means that we can also express our right-shift operations as a left-shift operation of shift 26 - R where R is the shift of our right-shift (if this doesn't make sense to anyone I'm happy to try to expand on it btw).

For the alphabet cipher, that means a 23 right-shift is equivalent to a 3 left-shift, and a 22 right-shift is equivalent to a 4 left-shift.

However, for alphabet+, it doesn't take 26 shifts to get back to normal, but 27 (since there's 27 characters in alphabet+). This means that a 23 right-shift alphabet+ operation is equivalent to a 4 left-shift and NOT a 3 left-shift.

Now, since they're not the same set of characters, an alphabet 4 left-shift is not the same as an alphabet+ 4 left-shift. However, it's good to take into account that the solution in alphabet+ is also very similar to our almost-solution in the regular alphabet.

If you'll look at Table 1 and 2 again, you'll see that while A, B and C translate to X, Y and Z for both 23 right-shifts, the + in the middle for alphabet+ messes everything up and leaves us with an icky leftover left-shift of 1 (which is close, but still incomprehensible to humans since it's such a big portion of letters)

However, if we create a conversion table for the 22 right-shift of the alphabet we get the following:

If we compare this to Table 2, we see that A, B, C & D are not the same for both. However, from E on, these two are EXACTLY the same. The part left of the + just has a right-shift of 1 (which is symmetrical to the left-shift of 1 we saw in Table 1).

So, in conclusion: because of the difference in amount of characters, both the 22 and 23 right-shift alphabet decodings are not EXACTLY the same as the 23 right-shift alphabet+ decoding. However, due to the similarity of the lower 4 left-shift, the 22 has more correct characters and is therefore more comprehensible.

A more permanent hiatus from writing

So I have made the difficult decision to stop writing, at least for Tumblr etc, on a more permanent basis. I appreciate and love every single one of you who have taken the time to read, comment, reblog, send requests and prompts. Writing saved me from a very dark place and helped me come to terms with some things.

I've had an absolute blast interacting with everyone and I won't be removing my masterlist so that will stay for people to re-read if they want.

The fact is after some big life changes and the way things are here on Tumblr right now (more on both of these points below for those who want more personal details), I just don't have the time or energy to continue writing and it has become no longer a temporary hiatus. I'm afraid this may be permanent for now.

I will remain on Tumblr just no longer as a writer.

For those of you who want a better explanation on why im leaving writing..

I came to writing fanfic again after the loss of my daughter. We spent a long time trying to get pregnant, only to loose her to a premature birth (second trimester miscarriage) and then told there was no guarantee I could ever carry a child to full term. Tumblr saved me from being in a very dark place with knowing this information. The people I met here are some of the best. I loved writing, and I loved that my writing brought joy to people. It brought a light back into my life and helped me do something to distract myself. I'm greatful for every single person who interacted with my fics. You have no idea how much your support, comments, reblogs and GIFs helped me. It helped me slowly come back to myself again.

Recently we have been incredibly blessed with a rainbow baby after an extremely stressful high risk pregnancy which absolutely took it out of me both physically and mentally, and caused me to take an initial step back from writing.

I sort of underestimated how much having a child would take out of my time and I honestly just do not have the time to write now. When I do have time im probably found catching up on sleep 😂

I really thought eventually I would come back to writing and don't get me wrong, I have 10000 ideas pinging around my brain and about 15 half finished WIP but the thing is, right now I got to prioritise family time. I am adjusting to life as a mom and just a general different pace of life. I feel it would be rude of my to continue to string people along thinking I will finish your requests or that WIP I've promised may eventually appear. And I guess maybe one day they will. But I can't make that promise and I feel guilty for continuing to pretend I'll get to them eventually. So please, accept my apologies if you were waiting on something. I know a bunch of amazing writers if anyone would like their request passed onto them to be fulfilled!

Second big reason for me leaving writing is .. interaction. The absolute lack of comments, reblog, messages, anything, is unreal. Anyone can click the like button but what writers need is something that makes them feel like you actually read their work, that you enjoyed it, that you want more. Please for those writers you follow, drop them a message about their fics, ask them questions, discuss headcannons, reblog their work, tell them what your favourite line was. Anything! Blind reblog with no comments and likes make writers feel like they put in all the effort for no reward. Interact with your writers people!

Hi everyone, I decided that I'm going to start reblogging a gameplay I started a year ago with a family called the DiMarcos. A few of the characters will show up in my story eventually so I thought now would be a good time to introduce my new followers to them!

If you've already read through the gameplay, please note that I have hidden a lot of the later posts for 2 reasons: The first is that it went past the time period where the characters will be introduced in the story. The older kids (Lucy, Paul, and Matt) are supposed to be around the same ages as Johnny, Chantal, and Cece for reference.

The second requires a bit of a longer explanation. When I started the gameplay I was thinking about starting a story but I didn't have anything planned. I had just brought these characters back as I hadn't played the Sims in a few years. When I started posting the gameplay, I deviated from my original narrative and was trying new things. But with adding them to the story I decided I didn't like all of the changes I made, so I've hidden the posts that depict those changes. I mention this because it may look like I made a major change to one character in particular and it may be surprising where they are in their life when they enter the story. However, I'm not actually changing the character significantly, just the timeline of how their story develops. I can't be more specific without spoiling major plotlines.

I'm making this sound more serious than it is, and I'm not expecting anyone to remember the specifics of the gameplay anyway, but I just wanted to put that out there! As usual, I'm doing too much 😂

If its revealed Ralsei's the personification of Kris's familial love for their brother or something, and you still ship Kralsei do not interact. i asked a guy i've been interacting with on tumblr for like the last 8 months, if he wanted my number and boy do i regret it [but not for the reasons you may think]

so, as i mentioned we've been getting to know each other and messaging for like 8 months. i remember the first time he messaged me... it was completely random. he'd liked a couple of posts/reblogs and followed me before reaching out and sending a simple greeting. i was naturally very suspicious as it had been years since anyone had messaged me on tumblr and since it was so out of the blue, i was very cagey and cold. he persevered another 2 days before caging up himself when i asked for his name. then he dropped off for about a month. when he returned again, it was to apologise for clamming up. i told him not to worry as he was entitled to his privacy. and then he did something that really surprised me. he gave me his name and a little snippet of his story. he told me that he was feeling lonely and wanting to make friends and that he was going to try chatting to people on here again and sort of freaked out. i let him know that i understood, as i was also being cagey. once we both were on the same page, things were okay. we would checking in every now and then, ask basic getting to know you questions and chat about our day. i got more and more comfortable with the idea of him as a friend and opened myself up to him little by little. sometimes i would reach out to him and not receive a message back for months, bc he would take breaks from tumblr [i'm assuming for his mental health, which is understandable]. he would reply when he next came online and we would chat more. he ended up seeing what i looked like through my side blog and began complimenting me on my looks. occasionally, he would ask a sexual question and i would answer it as honestly as i could. [normally, i wouldn't tolerate that shit, but i was starting to like him.] his line of questioning got more personal as time went on and it felt like maybe we were connecting. so as the months progressed, naturally, i thought maybe i wasn't delusional and that he liked me for me [i sent him a full body pic and it was received relatively well, i think] so i thought that maybe he would be interested in continuing this outside of the confines of this website and decided to work up the courage to ask him if he wanted my number. this is where it goes wrong. he meets my question with a question and i start to think that this is already a bad start and maybe i misread the situation. am i wrong for thinking that a man who's called me pretty and cute and hot would want my number? am i? well apparently, because he never ended up saying yes. this felt as good as rejection and immediately the walls came up and i started being short with him. I even wrote "i'll take that as a no then" to which he replied some bullshit like "i twasn't a no at all" and all i could think was "yeah but it wasn't a yes either", which is as good as imo. he wanted an explanation for why i wanted this bc he always assumed he was bugging me [which btw is another thing i want to touch on. in the past, he has mentioned feeling like he bugs me quite often and i thought i'd been doing enough to let him know that that was simply not the case but ofc that was his reasoning this time too] and i explained that i liked talking to him and wanted to respect the time he takes off from tumblr bc ik it can be disruptive and it was met with an "im sorry if..." and that shit makes my blood boil so i havent responded back to him. it's been over 24 hours since he replied to me. i spent that afternoon absolutely bawling my eyes out. then i spent the evening upset too. i was having big feelings, for sure and couldn't deal with them. i feel maybe i was too harsh but he was too.

anyway, i've been listening to sad music and crying abt anything and everything lmao...

As much as I would love to give you a full and detailed explanation of why your reasoning is fucking WRONG, I know by the way you wrote your thoughts you're not the type to willingly hear arguments that go against your beliefs and you're firmly set on your own interpretation of reality, so I'll be quick with this and leave you to keep swimming in your ignorance.

Damn right they don't, their mere existence is a crime. I don't know how many palestinians outside Gaza you've spoken to but I can quote what the ones I came across have said about Hamas, here some examples:

"We weren't allowed to leave because they shoot down anyone that tried to flew the country. They don't care about our lives, just our usefulness to them"

"We can't complain, we can't speak up, if they so much sniff someone's dislike towards them...."

It's hard to translate some of them, but you get the picture. Hamas are terrorists, that much is known. They've been also opressing, humiliating, torturing, raping, displacing, robbing and imprisoning people since their creation, but they've done it in a way that only those lucky enough to escape can confess their crimes. The rest are dead. But foolish, uncultured idiots like you don't want to hear that because it's much easier to pin Israel's government as the SOLE villains of this story and buy the propaganda western media is feeding you.

Honey, I don't know what the fuck they taught you in History class, but the "fascist apartheid" state you speak of doesn't exist. Israel was created by the United Nations as part of a plan to give both the arabs and the jews their own territory and cease the continued conflicts.

(Fun fact: The Arab League refused this idea because they didn't want the jews to have their own land, and so shortly after proclamation, five Arabs countries joined forces to attack the freshly created Israel state and invade them. Or, using that term some people in this site love, colonize them. Israel fought back, won for some dumb stroke of luck and, as a solemn "fuck you", they also took a 25% more of the territory that have been accorded)

Now, the Israel's government has clearly changed a LOT (speaking in euphemisms ofc) back from the original days where they genuinely just focused on the Israelis and right now there's really nothing good left in that corrupt, self-centred circle of men.

The origin of the Zionism movement was born as a response to the growing anti-semitism, an actual racist genocidal and inhuman movement, that was happening all around the world. So using those particular adjectives to describe it it's ironic and fucking dumb, because they go against the very reason of its existence.

Now there are various ramifications of Zionism, such as political Zionism, liberal Zionism, religious Zionism, etc. Not all of them good obviously, but the main core of this movement was focused ONLY in protecting the Jews and their culture. I'll never understand how a government that knows the tragedy their fellows suffered even dared to inflict it on other people, but well, guess some humans don't learn from the past.

And last one, the very jewel of your whole commentary:

I dare to tag "pro palestine" because I'm with them and I'm actually defending their lives, their cause and know where they come from, unlike people like you that speak up all proudly against others and use big words you don't even know the meaning of. If you actually cared about these people, you would have done your research and find out everything about this topic. But you don't, you simply want to show your deep anger for their pain in the same way all influencers and fake activists have been doing since this started. You want to be "part of the trend".

The only one who obviously knows and understand NOTHING about this conflict is YOU, fucking uncultured and ignorant asshole. Everytime I see people like you speak up on this conflict makes my blood boil, because all of you have been blisfully blind while all the atrocities were happening but now the biased social media and tv shows and all these radical anti-semitist political figures are telling you how bad it is, you think it's time to "stand up against the unjustice".

People like you only see the surface of it plus the propaganda they shove in your throats, and not the centuries of dark history and events that have consequently lead up to this. So how about you shut the fuck and let the grown people speak about this matter?
