As someone with these 3 placements (scorpio/pisces/4th/8th houses), I really liked doing this post since it's something very personal to me! 💕 Also, one thing I notice is that all these placements usually listen to a lot of music, more than the usual, when in love.

Margo will leave kiss marks on his face with her lipstick and he sometimes forgets and goes out to see his parents and Rio just teases him about it as he desperately tries to wipe it off to no avail

Miles makes really wonderful flower crowns and Margo dries them out to keep them, she has a wall with them hanging up in her room

They go on roller rink dates a lot and Miles is very good and Margo is very bad so he pulls her around the rink while she squeals and yells at him to stop going so fast

Sonic OC Showdown Ask Game!

✨️ - How did you come up with the OC's name?

Trace's name originates from the same oc tutorial video I watched when creating her. One of the example characters was named Trace, after their ability to sneak around without a trace, and I thought it was cool.

🌼- How old are they? (approximate age range)

I'm thinking mid-to-late twenties. But that might change depending on how I structure events in my AU.

🌺- Do they have any love interests?

Hmm.....

🍕- What is their favorite food?

Applesauce! The air slits in her muzzler are just big enough for her to fit in and drink through a straw; applesauce is just the easiest since it's already pre-pureed and tastes great!

💼- What do they do for a living?

Nothing necessarily. She and the rest of the Daybreak's Angels spend their time either relaxing or on patrol for danger. They defend those who can't help themselves and were most active during Infinite's conquest of Mobius.

🎹- Do they have any hobbies?

Back when she could still speak, Trace loved to sing folk songs from her hometown. She can still be heard occasionally humming these songs quietly to herself.

🎯 - What do they do best?

She's well versed in various physical fighting styles, and now due to her muzzler, she has gained a sharp advantage in silent espionage.

She enjoys talking and spending time with her team. She doesn't hate much of anything. Things that are purely mechanical somewhat set her off. She doesn't trust them.

❤️- What is one of your OC's best memories?

The day she met Zess. He helped her when she was all on her own, teaching her sign language, helping her get food, and just overall caring for her. Her life has changed forever thanks to him.

✂️- What is one your OC's worst memories?

Being defeated by the Jackal Clan. It scarred her, mentally and physically. She feels as if she let her people down by letting her cover get blown.

🧊- Is their current design the first one?

NOOOOO. She's definitely had some changes, most of which in outfit designs and colors. Her muzzler was originally a completely different (and severely illogical) shape, and there were a lot more greens and even golds in her design. The most recent change I've made to her design was the addition of the burn scars across her face.

🍀- What originally inspired the OC?

This tutorial by Creative Planet Entertainment I had previously mentioned in the first question. This is the video that taught me how to draw sonic characters in general, albeit poorly. This is also where she got her name, as I said before, and even inspired the idea of a muzzled sonic character! The Tasmanian Devil aspect was unrelated to this video and was chosen purely because it's just a cool and unique animal.

She is a sisgender bisexual woman. She/Her pronouns.

Unsure. Let's say... she's the middle child of 6 siblings?

Good. They care about her well-being, even taking care of her in the early months after the incident. When she left, they were heartbroken.

She's my little baby girl. She was my first real sonic oc, and I'm proud of how much she's grown. She is a mini time capsule of just how much I've developed as an artist and writer when it comes to Sonic.

✏️- How often do you draw or write about the OC?

I'll have swings, just like I do with all the fandoms I'm obsessed with. When I'm in my Sonic cycle, I usually bounce back to working on fleshing out and drawing choice characters from my project; Trace being one of them.

Initially, yes. I had an idea of how and when she would die, but it came much too soon, much too jarring, and read like something you'd find in a shock fic. So no. Not now.

She is afraid of becoming lethally ill, suffocation, and drowning.

🍩- Who is your OC's arch nemesis or rival?

Infinite, or as she knew him, Zero. They go back all the way from her infiltration of the Jackal Clan camp, to her traumatic silencing, down to the aftermath of his conquest of Mobius.

Since I designed her during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. I actually drew her during my break between virtual classes!

Do any of your Tav/Durges co-exist? Would they be pre-game friends/foes/lovers? I find it fun to branch out and see the characters I create interact with each other.

You can try to downgrade the game version and script extender versions to finish the saves off if you were really close to the end!

Also in the new endgame epilogue, Voss sends a letter that mentions the githzerai canonly in game! I thought of you when i saw it. If you're okay with spoilers lmk and I'll post it.

Also dude, honour mode is fucking brutal. One save file, you can't reload and if you die in the tutorial ship the whole save is nuked. All the rolls are inflated with a higher check number, I couldn't recruit Us because i failed the mutiliate roll despite having advantage. So many other people mentioned failing the Wyll Karlach pers roll and the pulling Gale out of the portal roll too. It's full on sadistic and I'm loving it but I can't go far yet because I'm still waiting on my favourite mod to update.

As for the Tav/Durge question, they definitely share a common dragon theme, I based them on different dragon species for fun.

First Tav was based on a gold dragon, friendly, chatty, noble heritage, extroverted and flirty. Romanced Astarion. Backstory is them being a noble supposed to take over the head of their family soon but got kidnapped, comes back to finding out the previous head got murdered and everyone in their family is a suspect except them since they were far away. Their dream person was a half-elf women. Gets thrown off the ship with a small baby red dragon that serves their family, followed them here. Hoards eggs/gold/gems.

First Durge was based on a red dragon, prideful, rude, arrogant, easily jealous, competitive and loves flattery. Romanced Minthara. They're not native to Baldur's Gate and instead come from a far away land in the east, they don't remember much since losing their memory, they hold a lot of Gortash themed stuff in their inventory not knowing why or who it belonged to. Their dream person was a drow man. Hoards bones/skulls/corpses.

Latest Tav is based on a brass dragon, loves to talk/sing, overconfident, cute, bad at being humble, anime magical girl tropes. Romanced Wyll. Multiclassed into bard, backstory is that they are a famous popstar that recently went solo from their band, too used to only dealing with fans so they tend to be offputting to normal people, they were touring in Baldur's Gate when they got kidnapped. Their dream person was a dragonborn man (mod). Hoards books/art/statues.

How do they relate? I'm not sure, maybe they're the same person but a different dragon lineage each time that drastically alters their life? Maybe they're long lost siblings? Maybe they don't know each other.

Well except two of them. I made a durge high elf guy for Minthara to abuse on a playthrough once, he is friends with my first Tav and i made them his dream person but they got separated ontop of the ship.

I mostly think about how my characters would interact with other people's characters, I think most of my Tavs or Durges would be indifferent to each other.

Khal'ian for example, I can say my first Tav would consider him a friend, maybe get a bit protective.

First Durge would be condcending with him and compares his shortcomings to Laezel a lot.

Latest Durge would be very friendly and think he needs encouragement to get out of his shell, might even be pushy about it.

I try to switch up the companions too on each playthrough to make it like it's an alternative dimension where every shifted a bit. Aka the werewolf Shadowheart au or the younger Gale one, since the more playthroughs you do, the more dialogue and scenes you start skipping so their canon plot gets old quickly and writing your own sounds more interesting.

But i do make them all human, all of my characters except that one high elf guy made specifically for Minthara. I genuinely have the biggest hard on for humans. i really think they're neat.

And my first dnd character was a dragonborn paladin yet here i am in human sorcerer heaven/hell?

John & Arthur Meet Albert Mason Part 2

Part 1 of Albert Mason missions here. As requested, all journal entries of side missions with John with Arthur’s versions beneath for comparison: I am doing his first because that is who people wanted to compare first. I can understand why people would want to do the missions with Arthur now, but there is some good insight with John here into his feelings for others and Arthur. There are differences so look carefully between John’s different types.

Unfortunately, you can tell the developers ran out of time/money because a lot of the journal entries are the same between he and Arthur; but at the same time - one could say meta wise that John just doesn’t want to draw everything and prefers writing shorter bits .Mistakes in the writing are kept.  Part with the wolves: John’s:

(My note: Wish John said something about the wolves and his experiences in the journal, but I do believe his dialogue has it. I’ll check my files)

So, I watched episodes 5 and 6 of Tomorrow. The first 15 minutes of episode 1 didn’t grab me and I really had no interest in watching the drama past oohing and ahhing at how fabulous Kim Hee Sun and Lee Soo Hyuk look in gif sets. Oh god and they are so fabulous. I want to wear everything KHS wears and seeing her pink hair makes me miss my pastel haired days too. However, I got interested again after seeing gif sets of eps 5-6 which seemed to reveal/hint more at Kim Hee Sun and Lee Soo Hyuk’s past life and your girl LIVES for that kind of stuff.

Anyway, I watched the two episodes and this drama is perfect as something I turn on to help me get through a work out. It’s fun enough to keep me distracted but I’m not so invested that I have to pay attention all the time. This dramas’s approach to issues like suicide, depression, trauma, despair, etc. is…very simplistic to put it nicely. Ok so yes, maybe people can be talked off the ledge with the right words/if someone shows them that they care in their most desperate moments. But then…what are they supposed to do after that? Their issues don’t just disappear after they regain their will to live but the drama seems to make you think otherwise. Like the singer in episode 5. Are we to believe that after his dead wife talked him out of killing himself, all that grief, loneliness, and despair he felt after having all his loved ones die before him just resolved itself?

Frankly, all of these people need a lot of therapy and grief counseling. Yeah, this is a fantasy drama about grim reapers so it’s not meant to be realistic and no one has the time or desire to watch scenes of someone going through uncomfortable therapy sessions. I understand dramas aren’t supposed to be tutorials on how to deal with mental health issues. but given that this drama seems to be trying to shine light on South Korea’s problem of high suicide rates and maybe help viewers through their own difficulties in life/give them hope/teach them empathy for others…it wouldn’t hurt to give it a bit more I don’t know…nuance? A little nudge towards seeking ongoing professional help to teach you healthy coping mechanisms? (I’ve only seen eps 5-6 and part of ep 1 so I will take this back if they touched upon this in the episodes I didn’t watch).

I’m not surprised that it’s based on a webtoon. When watching, it felt like I was watching an anime. It kinda has the same kind of…shall I say, earnestness and simplicity? It makes sense why my teenage niece would be into it. And Rowoon is like a typical male character from a shounen manga - kinda naive and bumbling, very noisy, the “rule breaker” newbie, and completely ruled by his feelings. I’m talking like, all caps FEELINGS.

But perhaps I’m being a bit too critical. This is a fantasy drama after all and is obviously meant to be a bit more feel-good/lighthearted despite the heavier subject matter. It’s an episodic/case of the week kind of drama where each case is neatly tied up with a bow and a “happy” ending so the format lends itself to a more simplistic approach. With that in mind, to continue to harp on about how the suicide cases are so easily resolved would be like going to McDonald’s and being pissed that the burger patty is not made out of wagyu beef and cooked to perfection.

To be fair, it’s not a bad drama when you adjust your expectations. The world building is interesting and I actually enjoyed the story in episode 6. I liked that it was more of a reflection on the old man’s life to show him that his life did have value.

However…WHY THE HELL IS THERE SO LITTLE OF LEE SOO HYUK?! No amount of readjusting my expectations for the drama will ever justify the severe lack of LSH’s screen time. Ok, this man has got some mf-ing presence and onscreen charisma. Rowoon honey, I love you, you’re really tall/big, cute, and harmless but LSH is sex on legs y’all. Seriously, give us more LSH! And where are his famous choco abs? Show me that cold iceberg of a man who’s a stickler for rules melting and breaking all the rules for KHS. Give us the ill-fated lovers of a past life meeting again in the underworld turning from lovers to enemies to lovers storyline that we all deserve you cowards!

Anyway, those are my very long thoughts on Tomorrow based on just two episodes and a bunch of gif sets I saw on tumblr that nobody asked for. I’ll probably continue to watch it while working out since it helps the time and suffering pass by faster.

i had posts in here before but i deleted them out of Fear but thinking about the movie has brought me back to attempting to place my thoughts somewhere because. i can’t get over that movie. i will not be cured of revue starlight movie disease until i can watch it again.

(this got long and i went off on a million tangents. sorry. anyways, i want to talk about the in-character & meta meanings behind the Murder in the movie, which i don’t do in any of my gargantuan paragraphs in this post. i will make a response another time but for now i’m just recapping what i got from the movie.)

there’s a lot to say that i think many have already figured out but like, it’s just worms in my brain so i think it bears repeating. i was specifically thinking about how the Murder works in the movie, and how it still has that same function as it does in the anime but more intimate. like, when any of the pairs is willing to Murder their partner, it shows that they have both literally grown beyond the precedent that the anime has set for them. the movie turns every character from static to dynamic, regardless of their original roles or situations in the anime. in the anime, you could tell the set course of each character in relation to the plot. karen is the protagonist, hikari is the love interest she needs to reach, nana is an antagonist, junna is like the tutorial character for how things work in this world, mahiru is a supporting character to karen (and hikari), kaoruko and futaba are gay & vibing (also supporting other members of the cast), maya & claudine aren’t necessarily antagonists but they are final bosses in the sense that they are the last obstacles standing between karen and her true stage (hikari).

the point of the anime had a single focus. it told you the rules of the world, and introduced a protagonist who needed to contradict those rules directly in order to obtain her happy ending in the story. it was a critique of that world, based on the world of the hypercompetitive Takarazuka theater. how does someone who thrives only through cooperation and love exist in a world where actors are intended to compete with each other ruthlessly for a single top spot? the anime’s thesis was kind of like that phrase in revolutionary girl utena, “the world is our egg and we are the chick. if we do not break the world, we will die without having ever been born.” (the irony there was that no one in that elevator could actually break the world because they were trying to conform to its rules [princedom, (toxic) masculinity, etc.] rather than actually destroying them like utena did.) nana wants to control that world so it can never hurt her, whereas maya wants to preserve that world as is because she does not believe it can or should be broken (it’s the love of her life, supposedly).

in the anime, this original singleminded thesis is tossed out the window as the story expands to address new, broader themes. we see that when nana says, “this is not an audition.” this is not a competition. this is the point where, after a game has been developed and stageplays have been written and performed numerous times, recordings have been released, and a community has unfurled — this is the point where this story ends, and grows into something bigger than what it was in the anime. the old roles that the cast played die with them, signifying the end of Revue Starlight, and they are reborn into what is essentially a different story (or perhaps not a story at all, depending on whether or not every party is ready to let these characters go and become little fictional people independent of an audience). something that may not even be a story at all, if the audience does not wish it. characters that were designed to be together are now pulled apart, standing alone and joining in new groups that will inevitably face new challenges. if we as the audience were to peek in on whatever mahiru, futaba, and maya were doing in their new troupe now, we wouldn’t be watching revue starlight. it would be a new story, with different themes and topics. i mean, the revues could be brought back into it, and the characters would still be themselves (albeit in a new place in their respective arcs), but the roles of the characters would be different — we don’t even have karen around to be a protagonist anymore! after the movie, everyone in the cast is free to have equal amount of significance. in the anime, this was not the case. but the world of the anime is literally broken, it is no more, we saw it destroyed. i love that as a visualization of the metanarrative of the story as a story that has evolved beyond its original domain, and as a literal representation of the freedom the main cast now has. forever thinking about the art of them running through the sand of the destroyed stage together, in new groups :]

this can be the end of revue starlight as a story (although perhaps not as a brand), and it frees up the creators to move onto the next stories they want to tell. i think that’s lovely, i think it’s a recreation of the journey of theatre which is a recreation of the journey of life. it makes me so emotional. i can’t watch this blasted movie again man but i want to so badly

hello! do you have any writing exercises you would recommend to someone who is trying to get back into the habit of writing fiction after not doing it for years? I've wanted to write for a really long time but was always held back by insecurity and fear

sure! 

1. beliefs & techniques

read kerouac’s “belief and technique for modern prose.” as you can see, it’s kinda nuts, but the gist is, it’s a list of 30 “rules” or really just vague thoughts kerouac values about writing. try writing your own list of 30 rules/thoughts/ideals you have about writing. 

this exercise is important because it begins the practice of metacognition. what will help you grow most as a writer is to write about writing. i recommend handwriting this list and sticking it in an envelope to open in a few months or a year, and see if any of your perspectives have changed.

2. the imperative (choose one, or try both!)

option 1: read jamaica kincaid’s “girl.” consider a way in which you feel you’ve been led astray, someone has failed you, or you’ve felt stifled or constrained in some way. then, try to write your own version of “girl,” by writing a list of commands you’ve been told in the form of a story. 

option 2: read lorrie moore’s “how to become a writer.” then, think of something you’re very good at, something that you’ve developed an expertise in. a la “how to become a writer,” write a story in the form of a tutorial. you could also try this as fiction, and do something like “how to get a restraining order from elon musk.” or at least, i hope that would be fictional.

both of these stories use the imperative to build a narrative. by constraining the structure into a list of commands, you’re immediately freed of a lot of creative decision-making you’d otherwise have to do if you were to write, say, third person literary past chronological order. you’re also writing about things you know. i don’t necessarily believe in the “write what you know” adage, but i do think sticking with what you know can be a good place to start.

3. make your own writing exercise toolkit

here’s how you can set up an ongoing writing exercise practice. 

first, write a list of 20 things you love. i don’t mean material things, or things you like. i mean things you care about. things you’d die for. things that, when you think about them too long, you start crying or feel like you’re going to explode. they can be concrete, like “a cup of tea on a cold afternoon and a good book” or they can be abstract, like, “courage.” the point is, they all have to be things that excite you or fulfill you. things you can think about or talk about or do for hours. number them 1 through 20.

then, do a bit of searching and find a list of stories, essays, or poems that you haven’t read before (or ones you haven’t read in a long time). they should be short. if you don’t know where to start, check out matt bell’s thread of 365 short stories he read this year. by the way, he also has a monthly writing exercise newsletter! i’m also very fond of the longreads weekly newsletter.

once a week (or however often you want to do this), pick one of the stories/essays/poems and read it. while reading, consider how it’s constructed. what voice is it written in? how does it move through time? what is the inciting incident and rising action? how does it resolve? who are the characters, and how do they grow? find something you admire about it, that you want to “take” for your own writing. maybe you want to try out the structure, like the kerouac exercise, or maybe the narration, like the kincaid/moore exercise. maybe you like the way images are described, or how the scenes fit together. or maybe there’s something you hate about it, and you want to try to do the opposite. or maybe you want to try the thing you hate, to see if you can better understand it. pick something about the piece, and think of it as a prompt, the way i’ve written the prompts above. 

then, roll a d20 (you can google “virtual d20″ and it brings up one automatically). correspond the result of the d20 with the list of the 20 things you love most. that will be what you write about. the idea is, it should be easy, since it’s something you love. 

for example, let’s say i want to read kiese laymon’s “how to slowly kill yourself and others in america,” which is one of my favorite essays. what i admire most about this essay is its structure. while i read, i would take notes about the way it’s put together, and i would summarize the basic beats and movements. i’d note that the essay focuses on four moments that have a common theme. obviously, i do not want to steal from mr. laymon. i want to learn from him, in the same way as when you eat a good meal, you might ask for the recipe. so, i’d roll my d20, and let’s say i get “courage.” i would then write an essay or short story in which i focus on four scenes or moments of courage. 

i’ll do one more example. let’s try “afterglow” by allegra hyde. i think this one is trickier because it’s a fabulist piece, but after reading it, i noticed that it’s a sort of braid with three main elements: the gatorade, the donor show, and the divorce. the gatorade is an unreal element of the story tying together the present conflict (the donor show) and the past conflict (the divorce). so maybe i’d pick 3 things off my list instead of just one, and write a story about my favorite stuffed animal coming to life, with a present conflict involving my best friend (or a character much like him), and a past conflict involving loyalty. or, i could broaden the prompt and simply take the fabulist element of turning into the thing you consume, while writing a story about loyalty. 

if you run out of your first list of 20 things, you can make another list of 20 things that make you angry, or 20 things you’re afraid of, or 20 questions you have about yourself and your life. you could even make a list of a hundred things all together, and roll a percentile die.

i hope this helps. please don’t be afraid or insecure. everyone has to start somewhere, and the best place to start is just to play around writing about things that bring you joy.

Got Legends Arceus, been playing for about 4 hours now. Honest thoughts so far:

I like it so far.

Refreshing, different, a remix of various ideas and formulas brought up in the past and modified to work here. Honestly the catching premise is like Let's Go, only less annoying, quicker, and actually fun, and with actual battles, and not a soulless JUST FLING YOUR ARMS AROUND AND HOPE YOU CATCH IT mechanic.

Battles are quick, finding items and crafting is quick, you can now change nicknames and moves on the fly and have access to every move your Pokémon has learned to that point. In addition, tutoring moves is a lot easier to do, merely costing money you earn from missions and such.

Animations and graphics... mixed bag. The good out of the way, this is the best looking Pokémon game Game Freak has ever made- that doesn't mean there's not room for improvement, and this definitely does not include non GF games like New Snap or Pokken, but at least it doesn't look like a 3ds or mobile game anymore (now it looks like a Wii game lol).

Visually it's passable, but there's weird glitches in grass and flowers that are jarring and very noticeable. Pop in isn't as bad as SwSh was for Pokemon, but you can still see things pop in at random, like textures and shadows, and it's not a good look. It even happens to tree shadows behind you, very close by.

Move animations look great, though, it's weird to say that, but yeah, it's true. A lot of Pokémon look and behave a lot more naturally, even playfully, vs how they would look like lifeless, plastic toys with 2d texture faces before. Some models seem to have been improved too to add more depth and mouth flaps rather than gifs on round faces.

I can't tell about human models moving, though. In the 3DS and Switch games prior, it was very easy to see that models moved along in grids and recycled a TON of animation. Nothing too jarring just yet, still stiff in some areas, but it is improved, that much I can tell. I do wish the character was faster and that he didn't run weird though.

Music so far is pretty good, but it still sounds like they're using DS and 3DS sound fonts and instruments here and there, which to me doesn't sound as good as the normal music. But the music is good on some degree anyway and Jubilife Village especially is pretty soothing.

Character customization is... eh. Better than BDSP and LGPE, a smidgen less categories than SwSh, but a lot of variety per dress item and unlike usually, guys and girls have pretty evenly distributed clothes and hair styles and such. You unlock more as the game progresses, although I do wonder if it would be much more trouble to just add hair, eye, and skin tone customization right at the beginning instead of making it a shop feature.

Characters are... well, I like em. They still suffer from the usual "WOW YOU'RE SO GREAT YOU'RE SO TALENTED HERE LET ME GIVE YOU 50 ITEMS YOU BEAUTIFUL BABY" mentality, but I think it's been dialed back to feel less condescending. Granted there's still a bit too much ass kissing for my taste, but at least the characters aren't annoying and actually express and emote their personalities pretty well. The thing is too, the tutorials they force on you is a bit long, but it's needed, and each bit is done quickly. For once, I'm actually glad to have a catching tutorial. Plus when they give you items, you need em.

I will say too, it's refreshing to see some brutal honesty from some of the NPCs at first, not trusting you immediately. Things are appropriately dire and not nearly as sugar coated as usual too. Like they straight up say the word "die" a few times. Very refreshing, I'm appropriately afraid.

I'm not going to say they give you total freedom, but I was able to explore instead of having to go directly to the next mission. In fact, I saw an Alpha Snorlax during one of the opening bits. I avoided it because I don't want to die, but it felt cool knowing I didn't have an annoying asshole screaming at me to go left. It seems like each area is separated like a Monster Hunter game, which is fine and a step in the right direction, but in the future I'd just want it to be open world entirely.

Difficulty is pretty manageable. It's not hard, but it's not as easy as I thought either. Pokémon will do a lot more damage than you expect, and guess what? They will gang up on you. Battling is easy, it's the dodging and sneaking that takes practice, and managing your inventory while keeping your team healed up.

I know it's a lot just for an initial reaction, but honestly it's a lot to take in. Not quite seeing "best Pokémon game ever" material just yet, but it is already a contender for best Pokémon game for Switch, and I am still in the beginning.

I look forward to playing this game more

Playing MGSV for the First Time Knowing the Twist, Part 0: Ground Zeroes

I’m a big Metal Gear fan but I dropped out sometime after MGS4. I’ve recently begun playing MGSV but I already know the twist about a certain character’s true identity. Still, the rest of the game is new to me and I’m ready to let Hideo Kojima break down my perceptual reality and teach me war is hell all over again. I’ll be chronicling my takes on the game as I go through it, starting with this post.

MISSION START

It’s been a while since I’ve done some tactical espionage action, so I died a bunch playing even this tutorial level. Good to see the ol’ TIME PARADOX death screen, reminding us that history is already written.

On PS4, the graphics on Big Boss look great. Kiefer Sutherland slots into the voice nicely. Admittedly, David Hayter will always be Snake to me, thanks to nostalgia.

I love that the series has added a ton of quality of life adjustments since its last main console release, with hints and instructions given without too much handholding by both Kaz on the radio and the design of the level itself. Kojima’s design chops have always been as strong as his penchant for indulging in meta-fiction. I remember being dropped into the first challenge of MGS1, where you have to enter Shadow Moses from the outside, and finding it difficult to know what I was looking out for.

Granted, I was a child. This game is easier now.

Speaking of children, I’m pretty comfortable saying that this is the darkest opening to a Metal Gear game full stop. To begin with, you’re rescuing children as part of Big Boss’s MSF. Metal Gear has spent a good long time telling us that child soldiers - and children being involved in war at all - are not good. MGS2 sees E.E. die trying to help Snake and her step brother Otacon. Raiden himself is a child soldier, which leads him to be emotionally closed off. Sunny ends up helping save the day in MGS4, but Snake and Otacon, having seen the brutality of war and how it permanently harms children even if they survive, keep her away from the fighting as much as possible. Kojima’s stance on child soldiers has always been - unsurprisingly - that they are a heinous crime and a symptom of a system which knows no morality, only conquest accomplished by feeding humans into a flesh-rending machine for money.

The existence of children that you must rescue from a PoW camp shows that this is far beyond Big Boss realizing the President made him kill his mother figure, lied about why, and still wanted to shake his hand. We are at the precipice before the inevitability of Outer Heaven and Solid Snake. And it’s only getting darker.

Paz, the little girl I just rescued, has had a bomb sewn into her gut. Here I become impressed with the care put into animating Big Boss - Kojima has always seen himself as bridging the gap between film and games so he treats his characters like actors. Their body language matters, not just their voice acting and mechanics. Big Boss’s body language couldn’t be clearer when he realizes what’s happening aboard the helicopter. Gone is the confident super soldier and master of CQC: he raises his hands nervously, like an overwhelmed new parent whose child is sick. He doesn’t know what to do; he knows his skill set as a soldier is completely helpless against a medical crime such as this. He believes in a world where this doesn’t have to happen, but to make it exist, he has to endure this part. He is just as much of a child as he was when he was deceived into killing the Boss. The child is raising children and all his strength and cunning won’t stop the hurt.

Kojima forces us to watch Paz’s guts get opened up and sifted through while Snake holds her down. The panic in her body conveys the pain viscerally. Kojima’s stance that war isn’t a game and treating it like one only removes humanity from the greatest aggressors is clear even as he makes war games. He wants us to know that this is the cost of using war to battle a world controlled by war. It’s not to be fetishized.

The bomb is retrieved, and all seems well. With a little bit of quiet, Kaz rages against their situation impotently. They were played like damn fiddles.

And the tune isn’t over.

Paz announces there’s a second bomb in her… (we don’t get to find out where specifically, I’m going to assume something only mildly horrific and not speculate too hard for my brain’s sake). She jumps out of the chopper, but it’s too late. Her proximity to the chopper immolates all inside and our mission ends. Kojima’s theming is already strong here. The bomb you see, the bomb you catch, is bad. Horrible. More awful than you ever wanted to deal with.

The second bomb is worse.

Indeed, in this series which began on the dangers of nuclear proliferation, Kojima has called out the two bombs which make his message a necessity. The Little Boy, dropped on Hiroshima, was the first and only uranium bomb dropped. 98% of the material did not undergo fission. It obliterated the city nonetheless. The second bomb, Fat Man, was plutonium and devastated Nagasaki, cementing the nuclear bomb as the ultimate in material destruction.

In Metal Gear Solid 2, the first bomb, that the S3 plan was the Solid Snake Simulation, blew the audience’s mind as they learned anyone could be Solid Snake, soldier genes be damned, so long as they experienced the right soldier memes. The second bomb, that your perceptual reality was constructed by sociobiological AI too vastly powerful to be understood by a single mind and the true S3 plan was to curate digital media to its normative liking in the Selection for Societal Sanity, is the one people remember Metal Gear Solid 2 for.

In Metal Gear Solid 3, the Virtuous Mission ends in the disaster of the Boss defecting and Volgin firing the Davey Crockett nuke. Operation Snake Eater ends with Snake realizing his life is a lie; that the nation he has given his life to will never respect it, only burn it as fuel for its own ends.

Here, we have begun with Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and one bomb has gone off.

The second bomb, I can only assume, has been armed and left for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Though alright, I can see what people mean a bit in the graphics--trees and grass definitely look wonky beyond the style of the game, the human and pokemon models look nice though, so far at least. A few graphical oddities but nothing fugly or anything. Water's pretty, IMO. So're the clouds.

Tsukishima: loves Avenue Q and The Producers because the humor is right up his alley. also has tASTE and his fave is probs something like Hadestown because it is the best musical. loves to break down the lyrics and listens to an album non-stop when he’s obsessed

Yamaguchi: he tried to watch Grease but ended up throwing popcorn at the tv-screen because of the blatant sexism. yams is not About That. gets his recommendations from Tsukki and has never looked back

Tanaka: likes anything with awesome choreography and really cool special-effects like Hamilton or Be More Chill. when you ask him about the story though he’s like ???

Noya: doesn’t get the concept of musicals. ‘she’s singing about the guy but he’s right there??? doesn’t he hear everything????’ ‘WHY ARE THEY SINGING JUST FIGHT ALREADY’

Ennoshita: also has Taste. watches pretty much anything and loves to keep track of new productions and new casting. if you ask him about his favorite musical he’ll probably specifically mention the cast and where it was performed

Asahi: y’all are gonna hate me y’all are gonna hate me but JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR haha jk. one hundred percent a Dear Evan Hansen kinda guy because he relates to the main guy’s personality. has waving through a window on repeat

Sugawara: LOVES the classics: Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon. knows every song and movement by heart. sings them everywhere. would not listen to anything else. also Moulin Rouge because he’s one Classy Bitch

Daichi: appreciates any good musical recommended to him but the kind of person who presses ‘shuffle’ when listening to the recording and all the fans around him die inside. does this more than once just for that reaction

Kiyoko: loves anything with awesome female roles, particularly Legally Blonde and Six the Musical. raises an eyebrow at you if you say you like Grease and you land on her list of people she would barely talk to

 Yachi: practically raised on disney movie musicals. loves to watch and re-watch videos from Broadway Princess Party a lot. is basically a disney princess herself and loves to put some songs on when she cleans the house. 

Kuroo: one of those people who got really into Hamilton back in the day. would sing the vocals, the back-up vocals, the chorus parts, and hum the intros. says he’s a musical fan but that’s the only one he’s watched/listened to.

Kenma: someone recommended Be More Chill to him (probably tsukki) and he ended up actually liking it. once in a while you’ll hear him humming ‘christiiiiIIiine’ under his breath. likes to listen to michael in the bathroom at 2 am

Yaku:  hates musicals ever since Nekoma had a movie night and then decided to watch Lion King and lev dead-ass lifted him up over his head like what rafiki did to simba in That Scene. 

Lev: another one who likes disney musicals but like, the basic ones (frozen, tangled, beauty and the beast). mostly because they’re his sister’s favorites tho. has more than once did the whole ‘do you want to build a snowman’ thing with alisa and probably his teammates

Oikawa: thinks that liking Heathers makes him edgy it doesn’t. practically paid hanamaki and matsukawa to sing Candy Store with him and using iwa as veronica. absolutely vibes to the Mean Girls musical

Iwaizumi: a hard High School Musical stan, now and forever. thinks that Ryan and Chad are definitely gay. one time oikawa was giving them a pep talk and said ‘what team?’ and iwa yelled ‘WILDCATS’ and then everybody looked at him because they KNEW they KNEW HE NEVER GOT OVER THAT PHASE-- 

Matsukawa: Cats. The Movie.* wrote a long-ass thread on twitter about why the female cats should be given six boob and tagged Tom Hooper. was blocked.

Hanamaki: *see above. probably had his sexual awakening when he saw Idris Elba as a sexy cat. there’s nothing gendered about a sexy cat

Kyoutani: likes the leather jacket aesthetic in Grease. looked up the lyrics to ‘Greased Lightning’ once and shut off his laptop when he saw the innuendos. may have tried to replicate the choreography at one point but fell off a table

Yahaba: a romantic at heart. has a copy of the West Side Story DvD and loves to sing ‘Maria’ and ‘One Hand, One Heart.’ he and Oikawa love to duet ‘I Feel Pretty.’ also tried to copy the choreography and sUCCEEDED

Ushijima: you’ve taken him to see an array of musicals, from the much-loved classics to the inventive modern musicals. every time, you glance at him hoping for any reaction. he always leaves the theater saying ‘it was good.’ only one musical has managed to make him crack a smile: The Muppets (the movie ver.)

Tendou: another boy with Quality Taste. is a hardcore stan of any musical by Team Starkid (also loves that they’re all on Youtube). makes so many references to them but nobody else understands. will yell ‘TIGERFUCKER TIGERFUCKER’ out of the blue

Shirabu: thinks that La La Land is Peak Taste. got angry when tendou showed him a video of ryan gosling scenes in the movie but it’s all replaced by barry, the bee from Bee Movie. now La La Land is ruined because he keeps on remembering ‘you like jazz?’ in barry’s voice 

Semi: tells you that he just doesn’t watch musicals but he secretly had such a Les Miz phase. writes enjolras x reader fanfics and his longest one was 200k words. if he hears anything that vaguely sounds like ‘do you hear the people sing’, a tear will fall out of the corner of his eye

Goshiki: was looking for slime tutorials one and stumbled on ‘not hamilton just a 2 hr slime tutorial’ y’all kno what i’m talking about and watched the whole thing. was disappointed that there weren’t any slimes but is now into hamilton

Akaashi: knows and understands the peak performance quality and biblical philosophy of Jesus Christ Superstar. doesn’t tell anyone about it though because they all assume its all church music. ‘it’s not’, he sobs. ‘it’s more.’

Bokuto: akaashi recommended Jesus Christ Superstar to him and he watched it, thinking that he’d see jesus playing an electric guitar. he was very disappointed and sulked about it for a week. LOVES disney musicals though

Atsumu: was one of those kids who would look up the Harry Potter Puppet Pals videos on youtube and stumbled in to A Very Potter Musical. ever since jk rowling’s snake side came out he began accepting that fan musical as canon. likes to piss rowling off by posting screenshots of the musical and saying its from the movie

Osamu: the Disney fan but with Quality Taste. loves Hunchback of Notre Dame, Princess and the Frog, Prince of Egypt, and Anastasia (the last two aren’t disney but animated musicals). cries at the sound of Phil Collins’ sultry voice. 

Kita: is in love with Phantom of the Opera because his grandmother loves listening to it. he’d sing THE ENTIRE SOUNDTRACK pretty much every day until his teammates catch him singing in the locker rooms while they were changing AND NAILING ALL OF CHRISTINE’S HIGH NOTES LIKE ITS NOTHING

Terushima: doesn’t like musicals so his friend recommended that he watch The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals by Team Starkid because of the crackhead humor. watched Robert Manion perform and ending up going on google and searching ‘does watching men move their hips real nice make me bi?’

Koganegawa:  y’all are gonna be surprised but this one’s a hardcore Wicked fan. has watched all of the different castings of it. he loves to imitate Elphaba’s iconic ‘FIEEEEROOOOOOO’ line in the showers and records it, just to see if he’s close to how it sounds onstage. has Idina Menzel’s autograph

Futakuchi: bitch does nothing but roast everyone else’s musical tastes. hamilton? ‘wow, mainstream much?’ dear evan hansen? ‘psshh, basic.’ be more chill? ‘think you’re edgy or something?’ the greatest show? ‘what are you? five?’ his favorite musical is actually Cats

Summary: JJ joins a cooking class with John B, and so happens to be taught by his long time crush from the island.

A/N: My JJ series is personal to me, I cannot explain. It’s what I started this blog for, and am so happy to be able to still write for it. OBX family forever. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

It took John B a long time, to finally unstick JJ from the old couch, and drag him to the Volkswagen. He’s been planning to cook for their dinner date with Sarah; which was his biggest mistake in the first place, for promising her and at the same time lying that he can cook, that all that came to his head was joining in on a culinary class a group of students held in the Outer Banks. He was lucky, OBX gave even that chance to save him from embarrassing himself in front of his girlfriend.

And of course, John B being John B, brought both JJ and Pope with himself for support, knowing Pope’s the smarter one, and JJ...he was just there to be present.

-I don’t understand why I’m going? -JJ shut the door, -Like, I don’t even own the C from cooking. How am I supposed to go there, not knowing what even the vegetables are called?

-JJ, it’s a class, that’s why they’re held, so people can learn. -John B turned the keys, and started the car, leaving the Chateau.

-What if we get salmonella, huh? Did you think about that? We have to try the food.

-You eat moldy breads, your organism is used to it. -Pope added from the back.

-That’s not the case now Pope, shut up. -JJ tried to give some reasons for them to get back so he could sleep in all day. -Look bro, we can go back while we have time. Think about it.

-I promised Sarah I’ll cook her dinner. And the only thing I know is making a toast, that I end up burning every time.

-That was your first mistake---promising. -said JJ, and rested his elbow on the window.

-

He looked like a little kid, brought to the doctor’s without his willingness. JJ sluggishly followed John B and Pope to the sign up stand, and when they got their badges, a table of cooking equipment was waiting for them.

-Did you take band aids, in case we murder each other? -JJ said to Pope.

-Why would we use band aids, if we’re murdering each other?

-I don’t know what I’m saying bro, it was the first and stupidest thing that came to mind. -he observed the table detail by detail.

-Ssh, the class is starting. Our teacher’s approaching the tables. -John B whispered to them. And just like struck from reality, and happiness at the same time, JJ’s mouth dropped to his feet. His eyes focused on her, and only blurred out everyone around except her. JJ’s skin littered with goosebumps, and Pope noticed he’s not listening to anything at the moment, even John B repeating the same words to him, so nudging him came the first thing to save his friend from embarrassing himself.

-Your name? -said one of the students.

-Beautiful...-JJ trailed his eyes to where she was going, but when Pope cleared his throat after the nudging didn’t work, JJ was back to reality, -Huh---Oh, JJ...Maybank, JJ Maybank.

-Bro, what beautiful are you talking about? -him and Pope started laughing at their friend.

-Dude, that’s the girl I’ve been talking to you about. The one I saw at the kegger, Y/N. Oh how she’s pretty in daylight.

-See, coming here wasn’t so bad after all.

-Shut up, let’s get you die of salmonella, rather than die from Sarah. -he said, and took a hold of whatever the others did.

-You have a whole hour to complete a meal, and I’ll come and taste each one. Please don’t make a mess, or borrow things from others. Everyone has their ingredients in front of them. We’ll be helping you all with cutting, stirring, or whatever you need a help with. Okay? -she said, and when everyone approved she jogged to the radio and put some music on, and started dancing her way to the table.

The student group also cooked something, and she was mostly present there, and also being present at the other tables.

-Wait, wait. -she appeared next to JJ, -You can’t cut these too big, for else they won’t be easy to fry, -Watch. Slowly, and they’ll be thin. And don’t press on the knife too hard...uh....

-JJ. -he said, leaning on the counter and glancing at her lips.

-JJ, don’t press the knife to hard. Watch. -she gave him the knife, and positioned her hand on top of his, as they both cut some fries.

She danced her way to one of her guy friends, and they both danced to the music. Y/N held the energy of the group, and it made everyone willing to work, because usually classes like this were said to be too boring. But the girl seemed skillful when it came to entertainment and professionalism.

-That blonde guy over there, has been drooling over you this whole class. -her friend secretively tried to seem as if dancing, just to whisper her that sentence.

-Who? JJ? When I heard his name, I instantly knew he’s the well-known heartthrob in the Outer Banks. I’m not his type sweetie.

-Are you joking? It’s been said that he has a crush on you, but you didn’t hear it from me. -she sang-song the last bit, and moved to the tables that needed help.

-What were you talking about? -he said, and Y/N just shrugged her shoulders, dancing to distract him so he couldn’t ask too many questions, or that same one over and over again.

JJ didn’t even take in one thing from the class, his eyes were darting whenever her figure popped up at a table or he saw her moving around, dancing and singing.

-Bro, I don’t know if I’ll be able to do this same thing for Sarah tonight. -John B felt hopeless from the class, but he really did succeed in making a meal that day. As well as JJ and Pope.

-Sht, -Y/N’s best friend nudged JJ, -I didn’t give it to you, okay?

-Wha-JJ took the tissue paper.

-Y/N’s Instagram and number. You’re not too secretive, Mr. Maybank, it’s obvious. I didn’t give it to you, hey, remember that.

John B and Pope were dying of laughter next to him, -Dude, the whole class realized you like the girl.

-Don’t joke with me, or you’ll feed Sarah with algae and snails. -he said, and shoved the tissue in his pocket.

-Disgusting. -said Pope and continued with whatever he was inventing at the moment. -Bro, I’m for math and physics, not gastronomy.

-If you weren’t forced to cook, I would’ve positioned you with the job of counting how much more time we have. -said John B.

-We have 15 minutes John B, and you’re still not even on the sauce.

The timer beeped, and everyone left what they were doing, and the students came to each, taste what the others have made. Praising some, and definitely giving a few critics to others, the class was over, and the money collected were donated to the charity that helped with saving the Outer Banks animals.

With John B being happy with his one-day cooking skills, Pope thrilled he’ll rest, and JJ more happy than the both of them for having the girl’s number and Instagram, the three of them headed for the Chateau, where Kie was waiting.

-John B you’re supposed to be making this yourself. -she said, setting the romantic table for the two.

-What are friends for Kie? To help each other. -he said, trying to make the plates look like he’s been working as a chef at The Wreck his whole life.

-Dude, I don’t even know how to fold these napkins. -said JJ, trying to watch a tutorial on YouTube on how to make them a heart.

-Give me that. -Pope got annoyed at how he crumbled a 100 by that time, and grabbed them from his hands.

The table was set, and it looked amazing. Everyone promised they will keep the secret, saying the following : “No Pogue on Pogue-exposing”.

-Get lost now, so Sarah doesn’t get suspicious when she sees you here. -he said, and fixed himself.

Kie, Pope and JJ, all got outside and decided to visit the Wreck for their dinner. It wasn’t fancy like John B’s, but it was enough for them.

-J, did you text Y/N? -said Pope, filling a glass of water.

-Nah dude, I can’t pull myself to do it.

-Who’s Y/N? -said Kie.

-The girl that taught us how to cook, who also happened to be JJ’s crush from the kegger.

-Oh the girl that you couldn’t stop talking about. Oh, now I see.

-Yeah, and one of her friends gave me her number and Instagram.

-Because old chap JJ, wasn’t secretive at all, and the girl saw that.

-At least I got her number, what did you get? No culinary scholarship.

-Don’t hit my soft spot like that. -he said, holding his left side.

-Then DM her, what, are you waiting for an invite? -said Kie.

JJ opened searched her name, and opened clicked on the message:

JJ: Hey, it’s JJ from the class today.

Y/N: Hiiiii JJ, how are you?

JJ: I’m good, how are you?

Y/N: I’m doing good, thank you.

JJ: So um---I found your Instagram account, and didn’t know if it would be creepy to write to you after today’s class immediately, but I thought why not, so here I am.

Y/N: No problem, it’s not creepy at all don’t worry.      

JJ: I actually saw you at a kegger, a few weeks ago.

Y/N: Oh really. Hmm, I wasn’t paying attention to the people, because my friends from abroad were there and I wanted to spend some time with them. But if I was, then there would’ve probably been a chance of seeing you.

JJ: It’s fine, I spotted you anyways.

Y/N: Yeah, you did. 😊 

JJ: Are you down for some drinks tomorrow, my treat?

Y/N: Sure, why not, let’s get to know each other.

JJ: I’ll pick you up, then we can go to one of mine and the Pogues’ favorite cafe here in the OBX.

Y/N: That sounds perfect, see you tomorrow then?

JJ: See you tomorrow. 😁

JJ: Bye, Y/N Y/L/N. 🥰

-She’s one chill person bro, let me tell you. -said Pope reading the DMs they sent each other.

-You’re going on a date with her, that’s what matters. -added Kie.     

-I’m so excited, my feet are itching. -said JJ, rubbing them together.

-I think you need to wash them, that’s why they itch.

-Pope, I didn’t know you’re a dermatologist bro. -JJ rolled his eyes, and reread the texts with Y/N. Nothing mattered to him at the moment; when they got to the Chateau, he plopped on the hammock, thinking of what he’ll do with Y/N tomorrow. And she seemed to do the same, because after hours of stalking his Instagram profile, some sort of excitement was born in her. OBX’s biggest flirt wanted to go on a date with her, still sounded surreal to her and it had her shook for a long time, until she fell asleep.         

The both of them met at the decided place, and obviously chilled Y/N went in for a hug, which left JJ a bit confused though he played it off nicely. They went inside the cafe and ordered their drinks.

-How’s the milkshake? -he pointed to the glass with his eyebrows.

-It’s the best one I’ve drunk so far. -she giggled. -It really is, I swear.

-Okay, okay I believe you. -he let out a short laugh.

-I like the place as well, retro-vintage style is my absolute favorite for cafes.

-Yeah, I like it too. -he said, looking at her as her eyes wandered around.

-So, are we just going to talk about the place, or are you going to say what you’ve been trying to, and I’ve been waiting for?

-Haha, I’m that obvious huh? 

-I mean---a little bit. -she laughed.

-Okay, okay. See, I’m never a straight-forward person. I throw in words, but never tell what I want to. I like you Y/N, and have liked you since the kegger. And now, that I have you in front of me, I am asking you if you want to be my girlfriend?

-I do, JJ. I do want to be your girlfriend. And maybe, I don’t know, I seem like I’m not interested, I like you too. You are a fun person, and I know I’ll have fun and happy times with you, so yes we can date.

His hand travelled to hers, and he kissed her knuckles. After a long time of peeking for each other at keggers, the two got to be face to face at one table. Sometimes expressing love, doesn’t need many gestures. Just a few confessions of what two really feel for each other, is enough to form a bond they’ll soon need to take care of. And Y/N and JJ did the same; without complicating it and talking to each other, they could now call each other ‘us’.

The voice of depression. TW; suicidal thoughts/suicide methods.

"I'm not gonna show my face...because..I'm just...I'm just really crying my eyes out right now. Uhm. I just have really really bad thoughts. I just really need to fight this."

There already is a video of me breaking down but I still want my voice to be heard;

I have never done physical self harm. Ever. But that doesn't mean I don't harm myself. I do. Nearly every day I hurt myself by hating myself. I break myself down. Mentally. I give myself scars that never seem to heal.

My depression feeds my writings. So I guess sometimes it can be a "good thing".

I wish I had a partner. Being single for almost 7 years is a long time. But all the boys want one night stands or something on the side while they are already married or with girlfriends and no girls that I like see me as girlfriend material because I am bi and "ew. Bisexuals!" Or they are 100% straight and thats not their fault. Can't change that.

And now the white parrot (a.k.a what I call my suicidal thoughts) is pecking my brain and its so tempting to just give up. I know of the preperations that I need to leave everything behind. It's scary how beautiful I think it would be. How much I have romanticised something so horrifying and sad. (I don't have what I need where I am right now but all it takes is a car ride and a purchase). It's crazy that you can even find tutorials online!!

I don't even know why I write this here and not in my own private "thought book". I guess I just needed to vent.

God. I want to be around people today and yet I don't? Because what happened to my best friend recently...I feel that my silly thoughts have no validation as I have never experienced something like she did. And I hope I never will! So I feel silly for wanting to leave when she has obviously had something serious done to her and I haven't! I hate that we all have to be happy and sucessful all the time and God forbid if you feel otherwise. Then you are just annoying. And so you feel that the parrot is right. Edit; She (my bestie/"wifey") just texted me and she will distract me with Hostel III (horror movie) and we will take a last car ride before the car won't be fit for the last EU control and so I sadly have to let it go. Me and my bestie have more or less had our entire friendship in that car. I will miss it alot!

Why a white parrot? Well...contrary to other people..I have always considered white to be the color of death. Not black. But white. White is the "light" that "we see when we die". White reminds me of hospitals and breast cancer and ghosts and the unknown. A white room scares me. Surgery rooms scares me. White is the color of emptiness and the cold. We don't know what lies on the other side behind the white room.

Why a parrot? Because what other animal would repeat things over and over and over again until your head is left with nothing but a vast vacuum of nonsensess that has been stuffed in there by something else. Edit; I wish I could draw, so I could draw the gigantic, hideous white parrot with glowing eyes and forever an opened beak. Sitting on my back. Weighing me down. Constantly shrieking. Telling me to do it! To do it!

I feel it's easier to blame a parrot then to blame myself for thinking like this. A parrot is something you can touch and "control/strangle" and its easier to manage than just "thoughts".

I needed to vent. So this was it. I'm gonna get out of bed, (it's over 5 pm/5 in the afternoon) and need to dry my tears and go on "auto pilot mode/robot mode" and try to ignore the parrot as best as I can. Need to order sushi and tidy up the house (at least do the dishes) before my bestie arrives. I hope I get distracted from this. I hope we will laugh alot. This temptation to leave scare me.
