Addicted to doing pull ups since 2012 🐒 • Oh man I was so skinny back then! I still remember being able to see my ribs every time I took my shirt off. I weighted around 130 pounds back then. The next chapter in my journey #hyperdbs I've been following @nickcheadlefitness for a while and I have his #iifymbible - I totally resonate with everything he and his girlfriend @becchambersfit stand for I'd love to have personal coaching with them but if I want to have nice things like trips to Bali and one day a house, I can't be spending that kind of money! - So when Nick released his HyperDBS program I was interested. I was also hesitant... purely because I've signed up to workout programs before and not liked the style or training or meal plan. - I'm super glad I took the plunge! Fantastic post by @kimschlagfitness I could not have said it better myself! - I’ve successfully used these 3 simple, yet effective tips in my own weight loss and with multiple coaching clients. This works! ・・・ Original Post by @kimschlagfitness When it comes down to it fat loss is a matter of eating fewer calories than your body needs to maintain it’s current weight. There’s no way around it, BUT....there are lots of ways to make that easier. Here are three: - 1️⃣ Eat the same foods. Find foods that enable you to hit your calorie & protein targets, that keep you full, and that you enjoy, and then stick with them. Have 1-2 “go-to” breakfast and lunch options and 5-6 “go-to” dinner options. Keep your kitchen stocked with these items. That’s not to say you have to be rigid and only eat these foods. If you want something else that meets the same criteria, go for it, but having these go-to meals can prevent a lot of last minute calorie bomb decisions when you’re just too rushed or tired to come up with a good option. - 2️⃣ Have a Never Miss Twice plan: If one meal is higher in calories or even completely off the rails, no worry. Just have a plan that the next meal or snack is right back on track. No guilt, or stress. The impact of one meal on your progress is minimal, unless it sets you off on a spiral of bad decisions afterwards. That’s where this plan comes in handy👍 - 3️⃣Make it as convenient as possible. There are so many convenient food options that can help you meet your goals. Use them! 3 Exercises To Get Your First Pull Up - 👉🏽 Btw I just wrote a short 3 page report on how to do 7 chin ups in 7 days (link in bio) - I love pull ups and I think everyone should be doing them but sadly not a lot of people can :/ - So here are 3 exercises that will help you be able to do your first rep or increase your number of reps. - 1- Hang on the bar (chin above the bar) for 5-10 seconds 2- Do slow negatives: Grab a box, get on top of the bar and come down slowly for 2-5 seconds 3 - Do inverted rows (AKA Australian pull ups): You should do 3 sets of 10 reps during your warm ups and these are like magic! - They will strengthen your upper back so much and help you develop those little muscles you need in order to pull yourself up. (This is a very underrated exercise but it’s the key to your first pull up) - Add these to your workouts and you will be able to get your first pull up. - If you want a simple pull up routine you can incorporate immediately to get your first rep check out the link in my bio :) - 👉🏽 Have any pull up questions? Challenge: Max push ups in 1 minute. 🔥💪🏽 - I got 66 reps...who can beat me? Tag them below ⬇️ - It’s been a while since I’ve done max reps in any exercise but it feels nice to feel the burn. - If I practice this more I am sure I can get past 80 reps. - If your goal is to increase push ups reps dips an easy way to train for this is to do to do push ups throughout the day. Do a lot of sets throughout the day but don’t go to failure. - In a week or 2 should be able to do a lot more push ups.
