Little bits of progress each day add up to big results!
Last year I did my first Spartan Race alone in Ohio and this year I did it again, but brought a friend for her first Spartan Race!
Over the past year I have been trying to count my macros and be aware of what I’m eating. Sure I haven’t been on track the whole time, but I’m proud of the progress I’m making.
The biggest change for me though is the confidence that I feel in my own body and the pride that I take in everything that it can do!
Sure, I’m not where I want to be but I am so proud of my journey so far and I am so in love with my body for everything that it has done for me!

Ingredienti
50 gr di banana matura
30 gr di fiocchi di avena (per me i senza glutine @myproteinit)
30 gr di farina di avena istantanea + Whey gusto Nutchoc
150 ml di albume
10 gr di collagene idrolizzato
3 gr di idrolitina + 1 cucchiaino di acqua oppure lievito per dolci
Sugar free syrup al cioccolato @myproteinit q.b.
Cacao nibs @myproteinit q.b.
Schiacciare la banana con una forchetta, aggiungere la farina di avena, i fiocchi di avena, il collagene e mescolare bene. Versare l'albume, l'idrolitina, l'acqua e mescolare di nuovo. Versare il composto in un contenitore adatto al microonde rivestito con un foglio di carta da forno bagnato e strizzato, coprire con un piatto e cuocere nel microonde per 3 minuti aprendo la porta del forno diverse volte per controllare che non fuoriesca. Quando è cotto mettere in un piatto e aggiungere lo sciroppo @myproteinit e i cocoa nibs

What are macros & why they are helpful to track? 🥑 🍠 🍗 . Macros = macronutrients that make up our food which are carbs, protein and fat. Most foods have two or even 3 of the macronutrients. Avocados for example are predominantly fat but also contain carbs, mostly from it’s large amount of fiber. . Tracking macros for a short period of time in addition to calories to hit your goals can help make sure you’re hitting a higher amount of protein & the right amount of fat and carbs for you which can lead to a better body composition change. While a calorie deficit (for fat loss) or calorie surplus (for muscle gain) are important, catering your macros towards your goals & genetics (i.e. can tolerate more fat or more carbs) can help you reach your goals faster & feel better overall. . It’s also important to remember there are many factors that affect weight loss including the quality of food, sleep, stress levels, exercise etc. Tracking macros can be a helpful tool but it’s not for everyone ❤️ . For me personally, I noticed when I started tracking my macros that I was slightly under my optimal protein level & that I could actually benefit from eating a little bit more carbs & little less fats. . It's been over a year?!?!
So it's been over a year since I've posted here on Tumblr.  I actually can't believe it. 
Life's gotten busy.  So much has happened.  My partner suffered a debilitating injury.  We bought a house and moved.  My mum got really sick.  I started studying a Diploma. 
Unfortunately life gets in the way sometimes.
Some of the weight has come back on.  I feel it will always been an ongoing battle!  I've been battling this entire year to get my eating under control and get a proper gym routine happening.  I've dabbled in F45 on and off.  Goodness I wish it wasn't so expensive!  But I think I've finally got myself back into a routine.  I've dropped kilos and centimetres in the last two weeks and I've sent my self a goal to reach by Christmas. 
I'm going to try and take you one the ride with me!  Here's to a healthier, happier Christmas!

💥INTERMITTENT FASTING💥 . Pic by @roballenfitness . Intermittent Fasting isn’t really a diet but more of an eating strategy. By restricting the amount of time you can eat, you’ll most likely consume fewer calories.

Intermittent Fasting is broken up into a “Fasting” window and a “Feeding” window.
.
In the Fasting window, you can consume zero calorie beverages (water, black coffee, tea etc.) - no food and no calories! (I know this isn’t technically an actual “fast” but for weightless purposes it’s what works well) 😊
.
In the Feeding window, you can eat what you normally eat (protein, carbs, vegetables, fruits, fats etc.) You should still be drinking water and you can have coffee
.
In the above example, the Fasting window is 16 hours and the Feeding window is 8. There are other methods but this one is the most utilized, sustainable and studied (for now). The timing of your 2 windows can be whatever suits your schedule. I would suggest starting off with a 14/10 hr split and gradually extending the Fasting window to 16 hrs. . The windows can be whatever suits your schedule the best. The example above is probably best for someone who works 9-5 but if you work a night shift, you can flip it by 12 hours. Basically just wait about 5 hours after you’ve woken up to start eating and stop eating about 3 hours before you go to bed 😊

There is also evidence that suggests that Intermittent Fasting could improve metabolism and growth hormone production, however, whether this is 100% true and/or significant is still very debatable
.
At the end of the day, if you’re trying to lose a few lbs and if your schedule and lifestyle meshes well with Intermittent Fasting then give it a shot 🏀
