We do not give fans of the clones enough credit for giving characterization and life and love to characters that have like ten full minutes of screen time. We see a man with shiny armor and an attitude and suddenly there’s lore and fanfiction and art and I love that so much.

having a moment. but when i was little and first getting into writing stories and drawing characters i always used to make every single character white, strange when you consider that im literally black but much less strange when you realize that at that point in the early 2000s i had never before seen a black person play a hero in something i loved or see a black person on tv with an actual role period (me and my sister used to see how long we could watch tv without ever seeing a black person, INCLUDING ads and it would go on for hours) so to little me, all the heroes were white. things slowly got better and i obviously got over that idea but still most roles i saw a black person play on tv was the sassy best friend of the white protagonist who existed only to be a sidekick or anything like that. but this is the first year ive actually felt like things were actually looking up.

between spiderverse, doctor who, and percy jackson i have never seen so many widely loved protagonist roles in mainstream media held by black people ever before in my life, ESPECIALLY by dark-skin people!! and they're well written! and they're the hero! and they have full lives outside of just being "the black character"! idk man it's just nice to finally get this, i love u miles morales, i love u the 15th doctor, i love u annabeth chase <333

"Do you love me?" Cael mumbles, fingers brushing over your knuckles, voice cracking slightly as he refuses to look you in the eye. "Do you... love me?"

You swallow thickly, unable to give him an answer.

"Because..." He laughs pitifully at himself, features wrinkling as his heart stumbles in his chest. His heart races in his ear as he fights back the sound of his heart shattering. "I think I'm in love with you."

This is not Cael. You stare at the man who shares the same features, hair similar, disposition and body an exact replica, but it is not Cael. It makes your stomach churn uncomfortably as it reminds you of the time Cael had first admitted his love for you— but you remind yourself that this isn't Cael.

"I..." You swallow thickly, voice suddenly wavering. "I do not love you back. I can not love you back. You are not Cael."

The clone smiles painfully at you, emotions running around as he contemplates the next words to say.

There is nothing to say to you.

"You are lovely. So lovely." The clone whispers. "I love you."

"I'm sorry."

"No. I am cursed to repeat the fate of the man of whom I am a clone of." He mumbles. "I have not a say in whether or not I can choose to love you. I must. You are lovely. May the sun never stop shining in your presence." He trails off, fingers reaching to brush your hair to the side. "I love you. Lie to me just once."

"I can not." You whisper. "I can not be that cruel to you."

"You can." He rests his forehead on yours, voice breaking again. "Please."

"I..." You swallow, heart souring in your chest as you exhale shakily. "love you."

That is all he needs. Even if it's a lie.

phyrg in the form of brnines first real workshop (it's the third one, but the first you could just about fit a mech in upright) as the distract themself from the latest overwhelming set of decisions. grease and mechanisms clicking in and out of place and familiar smells take the edge off for once

the form of an all but forgotten teachers lounge. it doesn't seem comfortable but figure swears it's the best nap they've had in years

kanae's black rose episode always makes me wonder where she got her sword from. the student-council-member-equivalent people to her elevator issues are anthy and akio (mostly him i think), but the sword she uses doesn't look like either of the swords we see pulled from anthy and we never even get the implication of akio even having a heartsword. nobody ever draws it at least, probably because letting someone do that is letting them have power over you which is not something akio ever really does. most likely it's her own sword which is such an interesting contrast to the other black rose duelists (especially if you believe the theory of kanae being a previous duelist) and opens a lot of other questions. who pulled it from her? herself? akio? (just like he pulls utena's sword in ep 38? utena/kanae parallelism never stops.) whatever actually happened, it's a very interesting narrative choice not to show us. too private? too intimate? too revealing this early in the show?

And by extension, we’ll get to see Callisto point out how thin Penelope has become.

Just look at how her wrists and arms are so visible and thin, even her collarbone is protruding

These panels too, you can see how utterly skinny her arms have gotten 😭

In the second one where she gets escorted back by the knights, her arms look like sticks T_T

It’s gotten so bad because you can clearly see there is a difference to how she was before. (See pic below)

Like here she actually looks healthy *sobs*

Tbh I’m scared to even know what her legs look like now if her arms are like that.

At this point it’s just ‘greenhouse scene save me’ because I can’t wait to see Callisto lose his marbles over Penelope’s unhealthy weight loss (and the angst that will come with it all too).
