( @hijackser ) this is my absolute FAVOURITE SERIES PERIOD. obviously i’m actually insane 4 hanma but no this series made me EVEN MORE INSANE ! i’ve reread it an insane amount of times, i think about it 24/7. it is my favourite piece of writing to even exist.

He suffered from many restless nights living in fear or shivering with the cold. 

And one day, his reasons to be fearful became a reality when someone attacked him, leaving a wound on his head that needed stitches, however it was from there that his life began to change for the better. The kindness of a good Samaritan named Justin Walker that took pity on Zach and offered him a place to stay, a job working for his brother-in-law and most importantly, a friend that he could trust. 

Three and a half years later, Zach and Justin are still friends, and they spend their Saturday night's meeting up at a bar for a few social drinks and a chat. It’s been a tough journey, but Zach made it. He finally made it to where he feels safe and secure. The days of living out of his duffel bag are behind him and the life he’s building lies ahead of him. 

And that life includes you at his side. 

You met Zach exactly three years ago when he became the building manager of your apartment block. He has always been a good man with a good heart, but lately you have noticed that the good man inside isn’t buried deeply as much as it was three years ago. It’s as if he’s getting back to the way he used to be, but much better.

You look at him now with admiration, watching his Adam’s apple bobbing up and down as he gulps his bottle of water with exhaustion pouring out of his skin. Running up and down the stairs multiple times is the cause and the guy needed a quick break when joining you in the living room to replenish his energy. Though, you’re looking at him like he’s a piece of meat right now.

hi art! if it's okay I want to ask you something, because this year, I've been meeting friends that are also ending abruptly and not in good terms. I've lost many friendships before (the two are caused by their relationship problems that I just didn't want to support) when I was in senior high, I am in this friend trio where in one of us left and made another friend group while my other friend has her own friend group too and I felt so out of place bc I don't have that, and now another friend of mine at the moment has been ignoring me bc of unknown reasons, it feels like I'm the only one reaching out for her. I'm the kind of person that is friends with everybody, one might say. now it makes me think that maybe there is something with me or how I treat people bc what do u mean I've lost 4 friendships in a span of a year :(((. i mean, i understand that some friendships are just fleeting feelings and it comes and go but why do mine ends abruptly and sometimes it seems like they just changed? I've been mourning for months bc of my childhood friend cutting me off from all of their social media without me knowing what did I do wrong and now someone's doing it to me again and it hurts so much. I just keep being left behind and I wanna be a better person and a better friend so I wouldn't be abandoned anymore. Have you felt like this? If so, how do you handle friendship breakups and the haunting feeling of isolation or being left behind? and I wanna know what do u think makes a good friend?

of course i’ve lost some friends myself, mostly because we just naturally fell out of touch or we have changed, and those changes weakened the special connection we had. and that’s okay. i’ve learned to accept that. when you also perceive the changes in yourself throughout the time that’s passed you’ll realize that you actually need to be around different people when you’re in a different place in your life, sometimes that could mean cutting someone off. personally, it’s been painful having experienced both sides of it. but i have two best friends i’ve known for 13 years, and a very dear one for 6. i find consolation in knowing that i will always have them even if i lose a hundred other friends. sometimes i get scared that i’ll lose them too.

and i’ve realized over time that what makes our friendship strong is that we know each other so well. and because of that, we are kind, loving, and compassionate with each other. i think vulnerability isn’t necessarily sharing your whole life story, it’s just being transparent with how you feel <3 don’t be afraid of telling them how much you cherish them (after you have a great day of hanging out say thank you, i love you, let’s do this again, let’s do this other thing again next / reach out to them, say what happened, do you want to talk about it, what can i do to help, i’m sorry, i miss you, how are you, or share a story or a memory). don’t be afraid to tell them when they hurt your feelings too !! and how they can treat you more gently bcs if they care, they will learn. and if you care, you will give them the chance to do so. and vice versa !! that is how you grow together and know each other better 🩵 in friendships, i think that’s where effort really goes in.

There talking about how hopes love for Landon is hurting her friends, how exactly??? What the one time when hope actually puts the twins in danger because she didn't know or had any idea that black magic was in the thing???.. what about the times when hope had to make a scarfice just to save them?? In season 3 after Landon died I don't see one person who had actually been there for hope emotionally not one, where tf was Josie ??? Umm came back from sometime with her mother and went to a new school I don't think she and hope even interacted after 4x05 or even asked hope how she was feeling went to a new school and dealing with realtionship drama until again when she saw hope she needed convincing to help hope ( still don't know how kb said hope was her blind spot💆) but anyways you have mg where was he??? Oh he hid the ascendant from hope says he didn't want him or the super squad risk going in the prison world for Landon cause he's scared you're a fcking supernatural for crying out loud and Landon is human then he left the school and went to mystic falls... All coming from the same person too, I’m pretty sure. But idc about an anti’s opinions. It’s just absurd. I’m so tired, like I’ve posted SO much on this blog that disproves everything they’re saying yet they still come to me with all of that. Clearly not actually reading or understanding what I post. And the way I could have gone through the whole show and given all the reasons why their arguments are so far from the truth, but there’s just no point because there’s no reasoning with these people. And literally everything you said! Exactly, Hope put the twins in danger one time, she apologized, no one ended up getting hurt. Where that anon was getting the idea that Hope’s love for Landon hurts people is beyond me. And so true, Hope is always making sacrifices for the squad, Hope and Landon are the ones who end up getting hurt because of their fake friends, not the other way around. You’re right, the squad doesn’t make any sacrifices, it’s always Hope. And they really have become so reliant on her, that’s the main reason they want her back right now. But yeah, Hope can’t do anything for herself or for Landon without them all holding it against her.

And season 3 says it all when it comes to just how badly the squad treats Hope and Landon. Anyone who’s a true stan of either of them noticed it and has been bothered by it. If people aren’t seeing what’s so obvious to the point it’s gotten disturbing, then idk what to say. Even at the very start, in 3x01, no one cared about Hope or Landon except Raf and Alaric. They all knew what had happened to Landon, though I don’t think they knew the details of Hope not waking up, but they knew she was having a hard time. I think Wade was the only one who asked about Landon, but no one else was concerned about either of them. Raf was the only one who was trying to do all he could to get them both back, the rest of them went outside to play without even mentioning Hope or Landon. And you’re right, literally no one was there for Hope when she lost Landon. Yep, Josie and Hope didn’t even interact till 3x08 because Josie left right when Hope was grieving, didn’t say a word to her or make any effort to be there for her or help her. And only interacted with Hope in 3x08 because Hope had to go to her for help, which took a ton of convincing, like you said. And again in 3x11, it took how long for her to finally decide to help save Hope’s life when Hope didn’t have much time at all? (Who knows if Kaylee even said that Hope is Josie’s blind spot though, those fans could’ve just made that up, or she just told them what they wanted to hear.) And yeah, then the fact that MG was hiding the ascendant that whole time while Hope was in pain? And in 3x06 when Hope was not well enough to do the tour for the school and he was supposed to take over from her, what did he do? He said no, and that he needed time for himself after what happened with Alyssa? Right in front of Hope, who is standing there, overwhelmed with grief? And also like you said, he was too scared to go to the prison world, when he’s a vampire, and should be able to defend himself from monsters, when Landon had been surviving there with no supernatural powers at all? I can’t. And then he didn’t even feel guilty for lying about the ascendant, he was more upset over no one wanting to sit by him at breakfast. And then when not everyone agreed with him about not going to save Landon, he went off to pout and then just left the school altogether. But not before he took the ascendant AGAIN. And yeah, Kaleb was just wanting to spend time with Cleo. But before that, also when Hope was grieving in 3x06 and was losing control of her magic in the gym, he didn’t even care about how she was feeling. He just wanted her to get control of herself so that the tour would go well. And Lizzie did nothing for Hope either, she annoyed me too. She didn’t do anything to help Hope or comfort her. She compared what Hope was going through and Landon dying to how she felt when she found out about MG and Alyssa... (and also later made the comparison about Sebastian when Hope was trying to find Landon in the prison world). And then she pushed Hope to help her with the tour for the school even when Hope said she couldn’t be around people. Also insulted Hope to her face, “forgive me for prioritizing that over your emotional needs for once,” when Hope was still in the middle of grieving, and Lizzie hadn’t been doing anything to prioritize her emotional needs? And then her saying “you’re only there for us when you need something”?? Which is a total lie and is so insulting to Hope when she’s sacrificed so much for all of them and to be there for them. Then of course Lizzie siding with MG in 3x08, the way she treated Hope in 3x09... And yeah, just all of what Cleo did to Hope. She manipulated Hope when she was at her most vulnerable and kept her from saving Landon. Then traumatized her by stabbing her, almost burned her alive... it’s all so messed up. And yeah, then the start of season 4 was all kinds of wrong with them gaslighting Hope and lying to her. Idk how we’re supposed to see any of these people as Hope’s friends. And I totally agree with you, they’ve not given Hope any reason to want to turn her humanity back on, not offered her any help or support. And the fact that all of this isn’t even everything but I won’t make this any longer than it already is.

And absolutely, Landon is the one who has truly been there for Hope, and the way they keep having him die is so wrong and has been so harmful for both Hope and Landon. And I wish they’d write better friendships, the problem is idk how they’d even fix the damage that’s been done at this point. The antis clearly can’t see past their own hatred though, they’re not seeing the obvious. And no way would they be a good friend to Hope, everything that anon said, everything I’ve seen so many other antis say... yikes. And there’s a huge difference between wanting Hope to have more of her own individual storyline and all the other crap that they say. They really are just watching for their ship, they’re missing everything else.

the first thought that ran through iwaizumi's mind was: "can i really do this?"

he's been debating with himself for about an hour now, whether he should finally ask you out today or not.

you've been on his mind the whole day ever since he overheard one of your friends gushing about some guy who asked you on a date but you rejected.

"iwa-chan," oikawa whined as he tossed the ball over to the ace. "are you still hung up on that?"

iwa almost didn't catch it, his focus completely thrown off. "huh? what are you talking about?"

oikawa rolls his eyes and gets another ball. "i'm talking about y/n and the fact that she's rejected every guy who wanted to ask her out."

oikawa has known of iwa's crush on you since 1st year but not once did he talk about it. now, 2 years later, iwa still hasn't made a move on you and it was getting annoying for the setter.

"you know, if you're never going to try, i just might," oikawa smirks and this pulls iwa's attention towards him. "i mean, who can reject me?"

iwa knows what he's talking about. every girl in seijoh has fallen for oikawa's charms at least once over the years.

thinking about this, iwa snickers and looks away. it surprisingly left a bitter impression on him. is he really going to let trashykawa ask you out before him?

hearing your voice calling his name had him blinking. what just happened?!

iwa mentally slaps himself. what kind of stupid question was that? you go to the same school.

"if you don't do it now, you're going to regret it," oikawa's voice filled his mind and before he could react, he's being pushed forward again.

the question surprised you and it was evident on your face.

there's a long pause and iwa scolds himself internally for being so awkward. but then he sees you smiling, your small giggle filling his ears.

"to answer your questions, i've been rejecting them because i was waiting for you. and no, i won't reject you iwaizumi."

the way iwa's eyes lit up had you laughing again but your moment was interrupted by oikawa shouting in the background, telling iwa it's time for practice.

"yeah i'll be right there!" he smiles. "i'll see you tomorrow then? around noon?"

you eagerly nod and then you go on your separate ways.

that night, you were both restless, tossing and turning around in bed because you were too excited.

when the next day came, you were up early, preparing yourself for the date and iwa was doing the same.

he never thought he'd ask oikawa to lend him clothes (he said he wanted to look good but oikawa just told him to be himself which was actually a pretty good advice)

your date consisted of going around town, trying different food, and window shopping. iwa had asked you beforehand what you'd like to do and you told him there's nothing really specific that you'd like.

so that's how you settled on watching a movie together, wanting to take a break from walking around all day.

oh how nervous you both looked when the lights dimmed. and your hands kept on brushing against each other while reaching for your shared popcorn.

but honestly, you were both so happy right then. no words could explain it.

iwa may not have been able to hold your hand in the theater but when you were on your way home, he found an opportunity to do so.

the city was busy tonight, with lots of cars passing by. and just when you were about to cross the street, iwa just swooped in and held your hand.

Another chuckle shakes your chest and he turns his head to look at you, thankful that your body is blocking the direct sunlight, “I don’t want to not learn, honey, I just forgot to eat breakfast. Maybe we can grab something, go for a swim, and then try again?”

You do as he says, finding a food cart to grab something small to eat and scarfing it down on a picnic table that’s centered along the pavilion that overlooks the beach. You hold hands underneath the table, your palms rested on Noya’s knee. He’ll play with your fingers, squeezing your knuckles and following the curve of your palm down to your wrist. It feels that sometimes he’s even checking your pulse to make sure that you’re still okay, still with him. As if he cannot believe that this isn’t some sort of dream that he has the ecstasy of reliving every day.

As you drop your tee shirt to reveal your bathing suit, you can’t help but notice Noya’s eyes are all over your frame. He comes up behind you before you can turn around to admonish him for undressing you with his eyes in front of everyone here on the beach, and his arms wrap around your waist, head tucked into your neck. When he speaks, his voice is husky and it sends a jolt of electricity directly to your core, “We could always just go home-”

“You promised, Noya!” You whine, circling your hands around his wrist and tugging playfully. He groans and bares his teeth to your shoulder, sucking one harsh time before releasing you, “Only because I’m completely whipped for you, babe.”

Your feet hit the water and Noya is flying past you into the waves, screaming at the top of his lungs before he plunges into the sea. You can’t contain the giggles that part your lips, covering your mouth with your hand as the waves crash into your shins. You’re meeting him halfway, floating in the ocean water up to your shoulders, your body folded at the waist beneath the crest of the waves, “You’re so dramatic, Yuu.”

“You wouldn’t have me any other way, would you?” he asks, eyes still burning with that familiar flame as he tugs you by your hips so you’re straddling his waist beneath the water. You gasp as he rolls his hips up into you, the feel of his thick length hardening against your thigh, “N-Noya-”

“Shh,” his voice is accented by the feel of his middle finger slipping your bathing suit to he side, “Keep quiet, baby girl, and I’ll make sure we both feel good.”

Your voice is lost in your throat, irises swallowed by your pupils when the first languid stroke of his fingers finds your innermost folds. Nishinoya pulls your chin with his free hand, tilting your head so he can kiss you on the mouth, eliciting a gasp from the back of your throat, “That’s not quiet, baby. Try again.”

The way you gulp and nod your head makes him chuckle, but he can’t keep himself from you, and before you know it, he’s devouring you from both ends.

CAN’T. but omg L, that’s rude i can’t be cliquey with like 2 people only and ignore all the other starters and plot calls and im’s and live in my own little bubble? nope. you can’t. fine but what if my partner has like 3 characters it’s not bubble rp anymore, eh! yes it is and and nope, you still can’t. but my ship is more important than rivals, friends, or acquaintances, ships ships ships. do you know what is even more important? the well being of all your potential friends here!

i’ve been on both sides. i have been clinging to one partner and only interacted with them because it was easier. i have joined roleplays with a partner only to ship. BUT i’ve also been painfully and unfairly ignored in roleplays. i’ve spent days and weeks without messages and just replying to open starters in order to keep my activity up because i had no threads. i understand. 

i grew very tired of admins not taking this seriously. so i will. i’m sort of the soccer mom type of admin. i will cheer you and encourage you, but if one of my children is hurt, i will unleash my vicious chihuahuas and call your manager!

there are two possible scenarios...

you are caught doing bubble roleplay. I WILL CONTACT YOU. and talk about it. maybe you really enjoy this thread, maybe you don’t have as much muse or time to dedicate to the other ones and you are aware of it and you will work on that. fine, we end it at that! time pass and all i see on your blog is interactions with one or two persons. i will message you again. TWO WARNINGS OF BUBBLE ROLEPLAY WILL LEAD TO YOUR DEPARTURE. 

you are ignored. you only get a few notes on your starters or your plotting calls yet the dash is popping. you message everyone and only get very few replies (or even none at all). what do you do? YOU CONTACT YOUR BELOVED (AND VERY THREATENING) ADMIN. you tell me the situation, maybe even provide screenshots just to be sure. and i will either do an admin note again, post in the ooc blog or IM everyone personally. i will do my best to fix the situation. obviously, there’s only so much i can do about it. but the more i know, the better my interventions will be. 

in brief: just plot with each other. reply to each other. maybe your characters just can’t interact and that happens! they run in different circles, their personalities would just clash so much that it would not be interesting. i mostly understand social anxiety (i’m the most anxious person EVER). it all happens, and it’s understandable. but just make sure to include everyone. if they react to your musing posts, your tasks or anything of that sort, just be sweet! i know the whole deal of pretendinghq is to pretend to be someone we’re not... but don’t pretend you don’t care about our fellow members. that’s not nice! 1. If it was logical/plausible/safe to own any animal in the world as a pet, what animal would you choose?

I've always had a pitt bulls as pets growing up, but its insanely hard to find a place to live that'll let you have one. People are also assholes about it but they're the sweetest dogs. Which isn't the coolest answer so I’ll add on that I think elephants are pretty fucking sweet. I think I just like animals with really big heads.

2. Did you find a new musician or band in 2020 that you can’t stop listening to?

I think I’m constantly being introduced to new music but Ive recently really been into Leikeli47. I also like that shes always covering her face cause it reminds me of MF Doom who is one of my all time favorite rappers.

3. Oatmeal raisin cookies. How do you feel about them?

Cookies are cookies. Not my go to, but I’d never turn one down.

4. If you could insert yourself into any TV show or movie world, which would you choose?

Avatar: The Last Airbender. I’d love to be an air nomad but I honestly would not mind chillin with some swamp benders.

5. Have you ever bought something because a group you liked sponsored it?

Uhh tbh I don’t pay much attention to brand endorsements. Oh but when Jungkook used that one fabric softener in Bon Voyage I got some because I wanted to know what it smelt like. It was nice would recommend.

I joined in the dark ages (2012) but I made this side blog as an outlet for my love for bts. One time, I ventured over to kpop twitter and I was genuinely terrified by the intensity of it. Tumblr so far has been relatively tame in comparison, and yet just as kinky. So here I am.

7. Do you think it’s difficult to come up with 10 random questions?

More like only picking 10??? I love hearing random facts about people and its hard picking the best ones when I wanna know everything.

8. Do you have any fantasies that you would never act on in real life?

Had an English teacher who liked my writing a lot. One time, we had an assignment to write a one sentence story, and when I read mine to the class she said “Wow” and spent a hot minute discussing it with everyone. I've never had someone treat my writing as seriously as she did and it changed how I think of the title ‘writer’.

10. If you could do anything you wanted at this moment, what would it be?

Go to a house party and get drunk with all my friends. Hug them. Make out with Kim Namjoon.

Like there are cuts and bruises and blisters all over her body. She is barely conscious when the hero finds her and passes out as soon as she sees him. Lots of angst. Fluff afterwards! Hero had not stopped looking since he realised she’d gone missing. He had searched everywhere he could think of, twice, and questioned everyone he came across, but there was no sign of Sidekick. He was getting desperate but still yielding no results. He just didn’t understand what had happened to her.

Hero stalked his next target, a dodgy character if ever he’d met one. Civilian knew everything, everyone, and very little went on in this city without them finding out somehow. Hero followed them as they slipped into an alleyway to avoid a police car. Hero took that as their best chance. They followed them in and stood at the exit.

“I thought I heard saw you creeping about,” Civilian said. “I’ve heard you’ve been looking for me.”“I want information,” Hero said flatly.The civilian held out their hand. “I know. And you know you get nothing for free from me.”

Hero fished in their pocket for a roll of notes tied with an elastic band. Civilian took them and counted. “Last I heard, [Villain] had taken them, but dare I say, even I haven’t heard much more than that.”“Do you know where? Even a guess?”

Civilian held out their hand again.“Hey,” Hero snapped. “I didn’t give you two hundred quid just for you to tell me one sentence. Give me my money’s worth at least.”

“And this info I have is so new the ink hasn’t even cooled down from printing. So I want double, please.”

Hero snarled, but they went in their other pocket for another roll off money. As soon as Civilian snatched it away from Hero’s fingers, they said. “She escaped less than an hour ago. All of [Villain]’s men are looking for her but so far I haven’t heard that they’ve picked her up. She’s said to be in a bad way though, so I doubt it’ll be long.”

Hero’s mind was racing. “Where was she being held? No! No more money, just tell me!” Hero raised a fist as the last warning.Civilian braced for the pain, screwing up their face. “By the river, [X] street.”

Hero let go of their collar and took off running. He knew that place quite well, he had a feeling he knew where she would be hiding.

As soon as Hero got there, they realised just how many of Villain’s men had been called in to search. The place was crawling with them, but that was good. It meant they hadn’t found Sidekick yet. He crept towards the river, down towards the pipes where the rainwater from the city would be delivered to. She always went to this spot to think, and he could only hope that was where she’d chosen to conceal herself. There were thick and tall plants on the shore. Sure enough, when he made it to the sand, he saw small footprints, barefoot. Hero followed them quickly. They led towards the bushes. As he got closer, he made out the outline of a person curled up.

“Sidekick?” he whispered. He saw the outline shuffle, and slowly, she crawled out of the greenery, clutching her side. A handcuff was still on one wrist and her clothes ripped and bloodied, showing bad wounds. Hero paused seeing the state of her, the bruises, the defeated and desperate look on her face as blood dripped from above her eyebrow and from her lip.“I… didn’t know… where else t.to… hide…” her voice sounded sore and hoarse.

Hero dipped forward just in time to stop her from collapsing onto the sand as she passed out. He sat beside her and pulled her close, stroking her hair. She was alive but Civilian’s description of ‘in a bad way’ didn’t even come close.

“It’s going to be okay,” he murmured.

Hero picked her up bridal style. Getting back wasn’t going to be easy, but he tried to stay close to the riverbank, away from most of the people, until he got out of the perimeter that they were searching. He didn’t have to double back very far on himself to get her back to the base.

Safe at last, Hero carefully laid Sidekick down on her bed, being sure to support her head. The movement brought her around from her sleep. Hero smiled softly at her. “I’m going to clean these wounds, okay? I’ll be gentle.”

She didn’t bother to answer, she couldn’t bring herself to look at him.“Hey,” Hero soothed. “It’s okay. You can talk to me.”Sidekick tried to wipe the tears out of her eyes, but Hero quickly realised her hand was swollen and bruised. He took her by the arm, his fingertips barely brushing against her skin. “That looks broken. Keep it still… Here,” He eased her into putting her hand against her chest and used his thumb to clear away the tears.

“It’s how I escaped,” she said meekly. Hero nodded in understanding. She’d broken her thumb so it would squeeze through the cuff. “I tried… so hard,” she continued, “but I couldn’t keep quiet… [Hero], I’m so sorry. I told them. I-” The tears suddenly came through hard and fast, Hero had to sit her up a little so she could catch her breath. He let her hold him as her body wracked with sobs.

“Shhh. It’s okay. Whatever you had to say, it’s okay. Come on, lie back for me. I’ll be right back with what I need.”

Hero left her to quietly cry whilst he grabbed his first aid kit and a tray of ice cubes from the freezer and a tea towel. He returned to her side and smoothed the hair out of her face with a reassuring smile. He worked on bashing all the ice cubes out of the tray and into the tea towel. He got most of them, and then wrapped up the tea towel and gave it to her to press against her hand. She did so but whimpered in pain. Then he took a disinfectant wipe and wiped away the blood from her face as carefully as he could.

“Can you tell me where else you’re hurt?”“Burned side,” she murmured. “Can’t remember.”Hero rolled up her shirt to reveal painful looking blisters and burned skin. “What the hell did this?” he asked.

“Couldn’t see. Blowtorch maybe?… I. I had to speak… It hurt too much.”“Stop beating yourself up over that, please. I’d have talked too. I’m going to put some ointment on this and I’ll dress it.”

They worked in silence, deciding not to point out the way she shook or how she violently flinched and yelped in pain. It was when he sat her up to secure the dressing to the burn she admitted, “I told them your name… mine too.”

Hero paused for a moment to look her in the face, the guilt that was clear to see.

Hero smiled and kept wrapping. There was so point panicking yet. At least they were both safe here for now. “If it meant you didn’t get hurt, I’d go live on television and scream it at the whole world. Don’t worry about it, really. We’ll get through this.”

When all her wounds were finally tended to, Hero went to fetch her a drink of peach tea. Maybe that would settle her a little and get her hydrated. She sipped at it through a straw while Hero unpicked the lock on the handcuff to free her sore wrists. He’d bandage those later, he decided and cleaned up all the mess he’d made in helping her. Once she’d drank her fill, he climbed onto the bed beside her, letting her rest her head on his chest to sleep. She was alive. She was here and she was finally safe. Knowing that Hero was finally able to let himself fall asleep beside her.

So I am very sentimental honestly (and have a few hoarder like tendencies), this adds up to mean that essentially anything that’s been given to me in my life I have kept and it’s precious to me. If you have put time and effort into something and had the thought to give me something that you worked on, or you found something and it made you think of me and you give it to me, I’ll keep it always. I still have notes given to me from my middle school days, pieces of art friends made for a class in high school but gave to me; this also means that as an elementary school teacher I have stacks upon stacks of “drawings” from various children that I’ve kept and plan to keep for as long as possible. I just find gifts very precious and meaningful

TRAVEL DIARY | BAGUIO 219

We are down to the last 2 months of 2019 and I am so glad I was able to squeeze in a little trip up North with the B! We are excited to finally escape our daily work routine. It was a great time to visit my brother Choi too, who is currently studying in Baguio.

I booked our hotel via ZENROOMS. (which is now my favorite hotel app! I love how they offer clean, comfortable yet very affordable rooms!) We chose Casa Bel Baguio that only cost us 1810.00php for 2 nights. (I used a 20% promo code too!) You can’t expect much from it as it is very basic though I was surprised that ours included a balcony and a decent parking space. This is probably one of the reasons why we didn’t opt for the prettier options on AirBnB. Madaming mas maganda but it’s either mahirap puntahan or there are no guaranteed parking space. Casa Bel located along Marcos Highway which is 15-20 minutes away from the city proper.

We didn’t visit the other common tourist spots because we’ve been here a few times already. We only went to Camp John Hay just for some photo ops. They do offer a lot of cool adventures but were too lazy (or scared lol) to try any. You can check the list here: https://campjohnhay.com/explore.html

Inside Camp John Hay is a garden called Bell House. We paid an entrance fee of 48php/head.

WHERE TO EAT IN BAGUIO:

ARCA’S YARD

Location: Tiptop, Ambuclao Road, Baguio City

We had our first breakfast in Baguio at this very dreamy cafe called Arca’s Yard. It is located approx. 15-20 minutes from the city proper. It is an old 3-story house converted into a very cozy and homey restaurant. We sat on a table beside a white wooden window where I enjoyed sipping my hot chocolate drink while I appreciate the beautiful view of tall Pine trees swaying outside.

CACAO HOT CHOCOLATE - (75) ugh! this one set the bar up high. I love how authentic it tastes.. it’s perfect for the cold breeze outside.

CREAM OF MUSHROOM - I forgot to take note of the price. The B ordered this one and he really liked it. He said the smooth texture of the soup is very creamy and tasty. It’s like the ingredients melt and dance in his mouth which he really liked.

HODORI KOREAN AND JAPANESE RESTAURANT

I craved for Samgyupsal on our first night in Baguio. This one is located near Session Road so we gave it a try.

390PHP/per person for unlimited meat and serving dishes

You’ll get 4 types of meat: Samgyupsal (Pork Belly) Woosamgyup (Beef Belly) Pork Bulgogi and Beef Bulgogi

GLENN’S 50′S DINER

Location: 92 Upper General Luna Road**, Corner Brent Road

I honestly have high expectations with this diner as a lot of bloggers have been raving about this. (There is another branch which is only called “50′s Diner” located inside Porta Vaga mall) The B and I arrived there just in time for lunch so we had to wait for about 10 minutes before we got our table. I was expecting it to look close like the Filling Station in Makati but the retro vibes was not really there. Maybe because it was too small and the place was packed with customers when we went there.

WE ORDERED THE FOLLOWING:

GRILLED PORK BELLY - 135PHP (Soft and tender meat. It was good!)

BLT - 1150PHP (The bun was really big! I enjoyed my burger though nothing was really special about it)

CREAM OF MUSHROOM - 60 (This one doesn’t taste home-made. I feel like they used those easy-cook sachets to make this)

STRAWBERRY MILKSHAKE - 70 (I am a sucker for Strawberry milkshakes and this one was what I really loved. The combination of milk and strawberry was perfectly blended. It was not too sweet and I find it very affordable for the big glass.

Location: Marcos Highway

This is another must-try place in Baguio as it gives a whole new social drinking experience. Too bad we went there during a black out in the area so we were only able to check out the roof top without experiencing the view of the city lights below the building. It was a great experience as it was my first time to try craft beer. How it works is you have to go to the cashier where all the craft beers are located. You may ask for free taste until you find what beer really suits your liking.

We ordered the following:

Lagud - Strawberry Fruit Beer - (180PHP) I played safe and ordered this one. hehe This was actually my brother’s first choice. It was good. It tastes like wine to me!

Kraken - mixed with coffee - (190PHP)

English Man in New York - mixed with caramel - (190PHP)

Location: 116 Session Road

The B has been eyeing this the moment we passed Session Road. We could see a lot of people dining in so we finally gave it a try on our 2nd night in Baguio. We were surprised that this restaurant is the same one we see inside SM’s food court. However they do offer bigger serving that still didn’t hurt our pockets.

Location: Assumption Rd

You should definitely consider going to this place when you go to Baguio. It’s not your typical food hub as the entire place was built with big trunk of trees. All the pieces made to assemble the food hub are recycled which is really evident if you would walk around the place.While appreciating the crazy aesthetics of the entire place, you could fill in your stomachs from the different food stalls inside. You can order from any of the stalls and they would bring you your food wherever you want to be seated.

We ordered the following: (We ordered these from 3 different merchants but I wasn’t able to take note of each names)

BALBACUA - 75 (I’ve been curious about this too as I’ve read this dish in a lot of other blog post. They said it taste like “pares” which I don’t really eat but I gave it a try anyway... locals, please don’t get mad at me but I feel like matabang siya. :(

RICE - 35 (I ordered one rice because the dish doesn’t include it yet)

BULLET PROOF COFFEE - 110 (Coffee is always a good idea anyway. I loved this!)

PINIKPIKAN - 110 (Here’s another dish we got curious with. It turned out it taste exactly like Tinola hehe masarap!)

ALIGUE RICE WITH BAGNET + 1 STEAMED RICE - 170 (I enjoyed the Aligue rice as it was very tasty and flavorful pero naumay kami with the rich taste so mixed it with steamed rice hehe)

SAGADA COFFEE with 1 free refill - 50

This is a little bridge going to the other side of the food hub. 

you can dine wherever you want!

This one is pretty awesome! They have a small theater designed with wood and trunks. I believe this is where they would invite people and play indie films.

OTHER INFO I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE :)

- Total gas was 2000.00 for an AT Sedan Hyundai Accent (departed from Tandang Sora, Quezon City. 3 days stay. Including city driving)

- Total toll gate was around 1300.00

- Total budget for pasalubong was 600-1200.00 (Dun kayo sa Public Market nila bumili kasi mas mura yung mga pasalubong dun. Mas makakatawad din. Sample pricing: 120php for the big Choco Flakes, 80php for 1 pack of cheese bars, 100php for 7 Fuji Apples, 80php for the Lengua)

- If it’s your first time going to the night market. Only bring a small bag or purse. Expect na sobrang daming tao talaga. They open at 9PM :)
