Tbh, the other day I finished reading all of Answer so far within a few hours (gotta take breaks and interruptions are inevitable).

If you told me that Answer!Yeosang doesn’t really know most of what’s actually going on, that he just somehow became a bigwig after being complicit (because he has a job he’s happy with and friends and people leave him alone) and not actually understanding the codes or anything that’s underlying, I would believe you. If you told me everyone was guilty and has done something wrong >except for Yeosang, I would believe it. He could absolutely blend into the crowd without getting into trouble and outsiders could think him a member of the insiders team without him actually understanding what they have been doing.

I just imagine him having pretended to read the dumb book and just ‘yes and’-ing his way to the top and no one would think anything of him otherwise, because “Look, mom! I can use my degree for something! I have a stable job and a place to live! I’m a farmer! And there’s a community! And yeah we do some weird things and I don’t understand them but don’t all cultures have some stuff people can’t really explain? It’s all in good fun and as long as no one gets hurt we’re all good!”

With how little we know of him, I am almost convinced he has done nothing wrong and honestly, I genuinely hope it’s the case and he’s just totally oblivious. That would be such a good plot point 😂

Otherwise at this point, as the mc I would just abandon everyone to escape and proceed with the police, because if best friend isn’t being best friend, then we’ve lost the purpose of being around and goodbye. Maybe that’s harsh but I’m still upset about Haseul and Mingi HELPING DETAIN HER

Also I’ve been hoping more and more happens with Seonghwa tbh… Turns out leader isn’t too upset about the idea of mc and Seonghwa getting together that much and if he won’t cause physical harm if they do the do because he cares about them most then there’s no actual issue with it! Like the leader didn’t do anything to him when he believed they had already done it, he just interrogated him about it. He didn’t seem to mind it in the end, though I do not get wanting to watch. But if it causes rifts between the two boys then that could be a very good thing for the rebellion!

Anyways, I hope they can cut out all this black magic seance bull and detain the false prophet, but I have a hard time believing that anyone can come out from this unscathed mentally. Except maybe Yeosang if my hope of a theory is correct 😂

Sorry for ranting at you! This is just to say that I’ve been thinking about Answer and the Pinterest boards ever since I finished binging the whole thing.

also this is kinda rambly but whatever

when it comes to shuraras motivations here, maybe he could have been another childhood friend of keroros. idk how they could have been introduced, maybe through pururu or just by meeting in school, but ig that part doesnt rlly matter. what DOES matter though is that shurara decided to tag along with keroro, giroro, zeroro, and pururu on one of their misadventures and he gets hurt during it. BADLY. pururu patches him up, and zeroro apologizes like crazy (since he knows how much this sucks), but shurara is left with a strong dislike of keroro and friends. except for pururu, who he still likes (but im not keeping the crush bc it serves no purpose here) and zeroro who he kinda forgives a little bit but just because he apologized so much. maybe this could have resulted in some major physical injury that affected how he lived for a while, or maybe it spawned a phobia, but either way it left an impact.

putata and mekeke are sent in first with the goal of beating up the platoon a little bit and taking the star because they are the most skilled team. shurara doesnt want the star because of some stupid bandaid, but he wants to take it in order to both deeply hurt keroros pride and also to potentially have his platoon no longer be officially recognized, taking away something that means a lot to keroro. they actually succeed in taking the keron star kinda. when they get back to base, they realize that the star is fake, its just a piece of fabric or paper with tape on it (like what happened in the original arcs ending). this way the shurara corps will be established as an actual threat and also the ending will have actual stakes.

gyororo sends word back to base that the keron star putata and mekeke got was fake, so giruru is sent in to ACTUALLY get the real star, as well as punish the platoon for embarrassing the corps like that. this one plays out kinda like the actual episode (bc im too lazy to think of anything else), but all that matters is that he still ends up captured.

after this, the platoon is like ok this might actually be serious so they go on high alert. one day dororo notices gyororo (who was sent in a little before putata and mekeke to scout the place out and gather info) bc hes the only competent member of the platoon and confronts him, outing his presence to everyone. gyororo fights back but he is also captured in the end.

after the platoon has captured giruru and gyororo , shurara plans to capture and torture a member of the platoon as revenge. before he can do this though, dokuku and nuii decide to rescue giruru and gyororo in secret. nuii serves as a distraction to everyone while dokuku goes to rescue the fellaz. theres some minor conflict but in the end the four of them escape. after that happens, shurara is furious about his subordinates disobeying him and doing things behind his back, but he keeps his goal the same.

im gonna change yukikis powers bc they kinda suck and hes confusing. anyways yukiki isnt actually a snowman, but hes the hat! kinda like in mario odyssey, you put the hat on anyone or anything, and it will immediately be controlled by yukiki. he was an experiment done to try to make a sentient object, and he got his name because he was first tested on a snowman (which also makes it the form hes most comfortable taking). anyways, shurara sends in yukiki to capture someone by taking control of them, but hes defeated somehow and returns empty-handed.

im also gonna change robobos powers a bit. with robobo i dont think that he should have the ability to turn people into electronics because thats dumb and doesnt make any sense, so im gonna give him the ability to just control other machines. he also doesnt have a giant form, and can switch his hands between their magnet form and their drill form. anyways, at this point shurara is furious and decides that he doesnt care about capture anymore, he wants the platoon dead. he decides to send robobo for the job because robots dont have the same margin of error that living things do, or at least theyre supposed to. turns out, they totally do bc robobo also comes back with a failure.

after this, shurara somehow lures the platoon to his base (just like in the anime) but this time everyone is waiting for them there in a big empty room together. shuraras disembodied voice gets a monologue like in the anime and the roof opens, lighting the room up because its a bright spring day. kagege then appears and takes control of the platoons shadows like in the anime! all of the shadows are used to fight the platoon, as well as the corps themselves fighting. its an epic fight, but just when it seems like the platoon is all gonna die, the corps suddenly decide to stop fighting. they all tell the platoon about how shurara has been acting worryingly erratic and obsessive, so they agree to spare the platoons life as long as they confront shurara. the platoon obviously agrees, and theyre taken to a holding area so that shurara thinks that theyve won. they give them this offer because theyre not personally invested in killing these nerds, they dont really care. they ARE worried about shurara though, seeing how obsessed with this hes become.

anyways kagege reports to shurara (in my headcanon hes like shuraras right hand man or something like that) and is like "we beat the platoon, but we didnt kill them. theyre our prisoners right now and were gonna torture them before we let you do the honors" and then shuraras like "poggers!!! thats a great idea!!" and then proceeds to drink his choccy milk and play minedcraft. meanwhile, some of the others are actually patching the platoon up and telling them what to do with shurara. they tell the platoon to try to hurt him as little as possible, and DEFINITELY dont fucking kill him, but just try to knock some sense into him and restrain him or something.

the platoon asks why shurara hates them so much and whoevers patching them up doesnt know, but kagege comes down soon after and tells them shuraras motivations. after this, some understanding can be felt by giroro and dororo (bc they were there, even tho dororo is the only one who remembers shirara like at all) and keroro feels kinda guilty but not too much bc head empty. later, the corps has a big celebration feast and shurara declares that hell painfully kill the platoon bright and early tomorrow. in all the commotion, nuii convinces gyororo to sneak down into the platoons holding cells to bring them some leftover food.

the next day, the platoon is brought to the same room that they fought the corps in, and theyre tied up. shurara is talkin abt how hes gonna kill them all super painfully and stuff but little does he know that the ropes holding the platoon are actually not secure at all (on purpose), so the platoon all escapes their bindings and a fight with shurara ensues. when the platoon is in a tight spot, one of the corps will show up real quick and help them out, kinda like a support in a fighting game. eventually, shurara is tied up and defeated technically.

shurara is whining and stuff and calling the corps a bunch of traitors, but the corps talk to him about how worried they all are about him and that this whole thing has gone too far (you rlly think these goobers are worth all this effort??). shurara says something about how keroro hurt him before, so he wants to hurt him and his platoon back. the corps are like ya i get that but killing them is wayy overkill no pun intended. keroro apologizes and maybe dororo can say something about how keroro also hurt him in the past but hes been able to move past that or whatever and shurara is like bro ur right and he starts crying like da babey he is lmao and there u have it!!! the arcs over and everyone is ok and happy!!! found family trope pog!!!!!!

My thoughts on Buck Begins (and why it was such a letdown to me)

There was a lot to love about this episode (particularly the background it provided on Buck and Maddie), but ultimately it failed to live up to the expectation for me. Here’s why: FOCUSING ON BUCK/MADDIE INSTEAD OF BUCK/CHOSEN FAMILY

So far the season did a great job in showing exactly how and why Buck grew up with so many abandonment issues and feeling like he wasn’t enough. But the issues didn’t come from Maddie. Sure, he was hurt when she moved away, but that had already been mostly dealt with. And of course discovering she lied to him his whole life was hard, but I feel like given their current relationship Buck would always forgive her for that, he just needed time to process it. What I really needed from this episode was for Buck to realize/accept that he’d already found the family he’s been looking for his whole life. 

The idea that he 118 are each other’s chosen family is one of the central themes of the show, and I needed that energy now, more than ever. All I wanted was to see them doing everything they could to save Buck, not because it’s their job, but because they love him. And they did - each one of them walked into that building, knowing they could very well die. We just didn’t get to see that because the show failed to realize that should have been the climax all along. 

Was there seriously no one who could tell him that he doesn’t have to save every single person on the planet in order to be worthy? That he’s enough on his own? Because that’s the reason why he keeps putting himself in life-threatening situations to begin with. And instead of helping him realize that, they praised him for it and told him that’s why they love him so much, reinforcing his belief that he needs to be out there saving people in order to earn the right to be loved.

BOBBY 

The father/son relationship between him and Buck has been an important part of the show since season 1. So when it was revealed that Buck Begins would address Buck’s complicated relationship with his parents and culminate with him being stuck in a fire - a situation that mimics the way Bobby’s children died, it felt like everything was lining up for this dynamic to be the heart of the episode. It seemed to offer the perfect opportunity for both of them to make peace with their past (Bobby couldn’t save his children, but he could save Buck; and Buck could get closure from his parents and fully accept Bobby as the only parents figure he needs in his life). The crossover only seemed to confirm that. 

By ignoring that, and not showing any special focus on Bobby, they didn’t just waste the opportunity to tell a beautiful and meaningful story. They completely disrespected Bobby as a character. Because you look me in the eye, and tell me that seeing someone he recognizes as a his kid, someone he loves and feels responsible for stuck in a building on fire wouldn’t be triggering as fuck to Captain Nash! The show can’t just ignore the single most traumatizing event of his life simply because they don’t know how to address more than one relationship (Buck/Maddie) in one episode.   

EDDIE 

If there’s one thing I hate in television, it’s fan service. Its always painfully obvious when a show is doing something not because they believe in it,  but because the fans want it. However, right now 911 is doing a sort of anti-fan-service that is just as terrible. Basically, they created a “Buddie monster” that doesn’t seem to have been planned and now they have no idea how to handle it. It was so clear that they were going out of their way to avoid any Buddie moments in this episode, that they ended up throwing Eddie’s characterization and the beautiful friendship they wrote for him and Buck out of the window. 

The Eddie I’ve been seeing for 3 seasons now would be the first to rush into that building after Buck, even before he got any confirmation or authorization from anyone. Instead, they turned him into this ice cold person right when Buck was feeling so unloved and abandoned. They don’t want to make Buddie as a couple? Fine. I can live with that. But please don’t disrespect the amazing friendship that has been canonically written. If they don’t think they can show us Eddie caring and worrying about his best friend without making it romantic, then it means they’re not doing they’re job well.

They also inadvertently created a power imbalance between those two that literally no one asked for. Because now, if you compare how each of them reacted to the other being stuck in a life risking situation, it comes across as Buck caring way more than Eddie. Which I don’t think it’s true, but alas…. Its there now, and it reinforces Buck’s feelings of never being enough. 

(And yes, I’m already taking into account their different personalities. I never expected Eddie to panic in the way Buck did in Eddie Begins. But I was expecting him to freak out in his own Eddie way, which he didnt. At all. Despite the show repeatedly showing us how important Buck is in his life and how much he unravels without him)

The cheap queer baiting (“I feel like he’s working his way through the village people”? They were purposely showing past-Buck in queer stereotypes and they know it. And Im really getting tired of them not putting their money where their mouth is) v them going out of their way to make sure there were no meaningful interactions between Buck and the man people ship him with 

PLAIN-ASS INCONSISTENCIES OR WEAK TV :/

First thing Bobby told them when they got to the scene was that they couldn’t separate from the team. They’re all trained professionals, fully aware of how risky the situation was. They’re also aware that Buck is the most reckless member of the team on a normal day, and that day he was dealing with some particularly difficult shit. So why the hell did no one stop him when he tried to separate from the team? If you wanna convince yourself the 118 suck and don’t love Buck, fine, but I know its not true. So Hen and Chim letting Buck go just feels out of character to me. Something the writers did, not because it made sense, but because they needed to have him alone and couldn’t come up with a better plan.

Now compare that to Eddie Begins, for example, a Begin episode that followed a very similar structure. Eddie being stuck didn’t feel forced, because the situation was properly explained and contextualized.  Everything made perfect sense given their line of work, the team dynamics and protocol. It felt like the natural consequences of a very risky job. It also made sense that Eddie Begins focused so much on Eddie/Christopher and climaxed with him fighting like hell to return to his son, because that’s Eddie’s struggle - feeling like he failed as a parent.

Buck’s struggle is feeling like he was always the one left behind. The one people didn’t love enough, because he it made it hard to. So by not focusing on his relationship with his chosen family, all we’re left with is “Buck and Maddie against the world”. Which is not where any of those characters deserve to be and ignores all the progress that has been made for 4 seasons. 

By focusing so much on this one relationship, they also turned this into “Buck and Maddie Begins”, instead of Buck Begins. THEY COULDN’T EVEN FOCUS ON BUCK IN HIS OWN EPISODE. Tell me how is this supposed to help resolve his insecurities?  

I did love all the flashbacks and the moments between the siblings tho. And I cried reals tears when Maddie pulled out her own version of Buck’s box. I guess I’ll just have to rely on fanfiction and headcanons to fill all the voids mentioned above

some p!g-drv3 theories (spoilers obvi)

First of all I think people demonize the pg versions wayyy too much because its a good way to be le sexy in like fanfictions. And i get it, villains are hot or whatever. and also hs is a horny age to be. But even the edgiest and horniest of teens aren’t like. that sexual/monstrous. its kind of insane the portrayals people are placing

maybe this could also be like me being older bc when i was early hs i was like yea its fair to place these super mature portrayals on a 18-22 year old they are like adults but young and now im that age and im like woah there pardner. might be an age/maturity thing. 

also like its normal for people to relate to and portray characters their same age in a similar fashion, but when adults write more sexual content about the dg kids i get hella fucking sus

idk where i was going with that first comment i guess its like a preface and in the end i think its important when characters especially teenage characters are morally grey not because they’re mature and dark/brooding but because they are still young and learning. fuck im older than like most of them, but im still young and learning. its good to be in turmoil and confused, especially the drv3 cast. they are more confused than anything.

which i think is a reason why people would join dr because if you are completely loss and in turmoil, it is appealing to be given a purpose in life and amazing talents/abilities. despite the morals of danganronpa, it is a simple reality to be told who you are and what to do

OK ONTO HEADCANONS (not doing all bc i dont have thoughts about all)

first of all i understand changing stories but i think, deep down, you can’t change fundamental personalities/values. so while the backstories might be different i think, in the end, a baseline is always the same

SHUICHI being a Bad Boy is like canon obviously but i dont think he’s as manipulative as people make him out to be. i think he falls in the more the bully role that like. mae borowski or tf2′s scout filled before they grew up. rough background, bad anger issues, lots of emotional turmoil, and the only way he knows how to deal with shit is by committing crimes and beating the shit out of people. and, similar to those characters, drv3 represents an older, more emotionally sober yet equally confused version of himself. the urges are still there as foreshadowed in the dialogue. i think he struggles with guilt, mostly survivors, but there is still a lasting impact of guilt of what he did in his past, even if he can’t remember.

KOKICHI is a child. a piece of shit motherfucker child but a child. I really do think he’s like one of the youngest people in the cast. he reminds me a lot of when my brother doesn’t take his adhd medicine and takes jokes way too far and does mean and cruel things because he thinks its funny and that its just a fun joke, but is hurting people. he desperately wants approval, which is why his leader role is so interesting because in the dr narrative he has the approval he craves and so he is satisfied. still, he does try to impress characters like rantaro and values his opinions a lot, even developing a brotherly relationship in the time they knew each other. this being said, its established kokichi was bullied before, but i dont think he’s like. the wimp people make him out to be. i think he’s more of like the class clown who desperately uses humor to make people like him, and ends up resorting to be the butt of most of his jokes. you don’t just develop a good sense of humor out of a brainwash, and that’s not something you can program in. i think that was a remnant of before, and he’s so good at bullying people and coming up with roasts - i just think that in p!g the roasts were about him.

KAEDE is baby but her p!g personality seriously reminds me of any ~quirky/edgy~ girl in a teen coming of age story who tries to be edgy and cool and act like she doesn’t care but deep down, she really does. if she didn’t have an empathetic personality, she wouldn’t want to end the game. i also think she has that self-identifying QuIrKy personality because its like she lives in her own narrative, practically announcing this story is about her and she is the protagonist. i know i used to self narrate like that and distinguish how i was different when i was like. 15-16. she has a tumblr. 

I really like the theory where KAITO is a make-a-wish kid who was better when he was younger but relapses later in teens. he never used his wish before, so he decides to use it now to be on danganronpa and become the hero he always wanted to be. i also think he might have joined as a way to raise awareness about adolescent healthcare. definitely the type who puts on a “heroic” character to make everyone else feel better about the fact he is literally dying of a terminal illness, and keeps that act up till the end. 

i think KOREKIYO is still a serial killer. i think honestly a reason why he mightve auditioned for danganronpa is because he is a serial killer. maybe his sister found out and he felt so much shame that’s why he auditioned. he probably mentioned why in his interview because duh, tell them im a serial killer and then only reason im coming clean is my sister found out and im ashamed, that is like a guarantee to get on the show.  i LOVE the theory that his sister is still alive, however, and has to watch her brother go insane because they wrote her into the story as the villain. because technically, she brought on this guilt, and is the reason why he auditioned - as a way to cause despair, twist it around so she’s the one to blame for his insanity. also, because its pretty accepted DR members become celebrities, kork’s sister is totally bombarded with paparazzi and is demonized in the media. she might end up writing a tell-all memoir about kork’s actual childhood and personality. quiet kid, thoughtful, interested in anthropology, she never thought he’d hurt a fly. watching her brother go insane probably destroyed her. 

I also think, timeline wise, kork is probably one of the oldest members along with rantaro. tbh i think kork actually graduated hs and went on a gap year doing the whole “hitchhike around the world to discover myself thing” which is where he began killing people. he was getting ready to go to college when his sister found out about what he did. this is when he decided to go on danganronpa instead of university. this would help explain why he knows so much about other cultures/travel/been so many places with so many memories/killed/is knowledgable on a level most other students are not. this would place him at like, 20-21, where everyone else is like 15-18.

ok so there’s two p!g RANTARO, p!g before 53 and p!p!g before 52. i’d like to establish now i think rantaro is the oldest of the characters, seeing as though he was already pretty old to begin with in 52, it takes time between television seasons, and he was in another game. so im placing him like 21-23, similar to yasuhiro in d1 being so much older than everyone else. i do think, in all iterations, rantaro was pretty much raising his sisters, though i don’t think he had twelve like the story (i think that’s an exaggeration, his sisters mean a lot to him, lets make him have a TON and then lose them all and feel GUILTY) rantaro joined the first game, partially to get money for his family and hopefully establish them as celebrities and let them have a comfy lifestyle, even if he doesn’t live...and also to finally ahve some sort of experience without his siblings tagging along. if he’s been raising his sisters all his life, he’s never had like something that’s JUST his. that’s his adventure. 52 is his ULTIMATE adventure. ahaha. mostly for money, kind of dreading it, still a tiny bit excited

ok p!g rantaro between 52 and 53 probably came back broken. he did the signings and appearances, but mostly wanted to spend time with his family and make sure they were set up. i think he knew the whole like few months between seasons he had to go on another show, but he did’t tell his sisters. his family found out when they saw a billboard with his face plastered on it hyping up the return of a fan favorite. yikes!

ok i get it a lot of people hate HIMIKO but i think she’s not nearly as similar as other “useless” characters in other games. its like, pretty clear she’s depressed, and the only thing she’s holding onto with dear life is magic. lack of hygiene, lack of personal care, constantly tired, social interaction exhausts - she has depression, but she’s not an UWU depressed character. so people find her depressive traits (which are some of the most realistic portrayals of mental health in the series) SUPER annoygin. she joined dr because she was completely lost and needed some sort of direction in her life, even if she’ll die for it. the thing is, even with direction, her mental state didn’t change because she wasn’t getting legitimate help. it’s like that one SNL skit that’s like. same sad you from before but in a new place. i also think she knows the magic is not real, because how could she not. i think she’s so adamant that it IS real, less as a way to convince others, and more of a way to convince herself. it’s like really super cruel that team danganronpa took a girl who is desperate for meaning and gave her literally a meaningless, fake talent.

i also kin himiko and find her a comfort character because i feel seen by her, replacing her useless talent of magic with mine of like shitty film making and comedy. i am seen.

related i don’t think she’s nearly as ugly as everyone says she is, i think she’s probably just depressed and takes absolutely no care of her hygiene and sleep and looks like sick and greasy all the time. same queen.

honest to god i think RYOMA’s backstory, tennis and all, is like 100% real and he’s the only one who keeps all of his memories except for the fact this is a tv show. i think he rolled up, a hot fucking mess, and the danganronpa team were like damn. we cannot improve upon this.

ohhh man okay ive said before i still play and enjoy overwatch (although less often now because the blizzard hong kong stuff is so gross) but anyways so im speaking as a fan and semi-involved member of the “““community””” here. literally no one fucking cares about the story and it’s a mistake to think they do. the game is fun because the mechanics are really really tight and relatively unique in the shooter genre. im cool with a dedicated co-op mode and the characters are... sort of charming sometimes but the writing style is so... fucking... earnest in the most misguided bland way... the world is poorly thought out and uninteresting and the characters are like cool as interestingly-designed archetypes with memorable lines (which is good for a class based shooter) but not as actual three dimensional characters. 

In the original game, where the story is completely secondary to the gameplay (even if the marketing says it isn’t, the design of the game is clearly oriented towards a competitive community and deep mechanics over a story since there isnt even a fucking story mode outside of some limited events) the only real purpose of any of the characters having a PERSONALITY is to instruct the player on how that character should be played. Like, for example, Zarya is big and strong because she should be played aggressively at the front line of the team. Every really good character design in the game is really good because it immediately communicates to the player how that character works, and I’m 100% convinced the design team knows this and leans into it-- the character designs probably come after the core mechanics have been developed. 

Anyways, the story could be good, who knows. I’ll be the first to forgive plot holes and inconsistent world building (which ultimately are superfluous 99% of the time anyways) if the actual narrative they’re telling ends up being interesting. They at least have a diverse cast and to some extent characters that I’m vaguely invested in already. But hopefully the real purpose of 2 is to revitalize the multiplayer community. 

That said, it also would be a mistake to dramatically change the heroes that are already in the game. The muscle memory of how to play them becomes so deeply ingrained in your head that, for example, when they changed the cooldowns on Zarya’s bubbles, or on D.Va’s matrix, I was like totally thrown off for the next few weeks of playing and had to unlearn some of the techniques I was using. Yeah, sessions are fun. It’s interesting to think of what kind of story peoples’ sessions could make. So, let’s take a look.

Knight of Space, one who actively exploits/weaponizes Space. So, since this is a Knight, your session will not have enough Space. Either there won’t be enough physical Space (people or planets being too close together, for example), or there won’t be enough creativity in the session. Not the most problematic Knight you could have, but I’d still be careful. As the Space player of your session, their job is to breed the Genesis Frog to create the new universe. They might shy away from that role at first, feeling insecure with Space, but they’ll be proficient with it when they finally get it together. They’re also the most responsible player, and they’ll help keep everything in line.

Witch of Doom, one who manipulates Doom. Can sometimes change the rules of the aspect. This is a powerful player to have on your side. The Witch of Doom manipulates rules, laws, fate, death, and sacrifice. They can change the rules of a battle, and tweak the rules of Sburb itself at higher levels. Potentially even stopping someone from dying. In major team battles, such as against the Black King or Queen, this is your greatest supportive asset. They can change the rules of battle to fit your team’s purposes. They’re not likely to be a troublesome presence for the team.

Prince of Life, one who destroys or destroys with Life. Oh boy, it’s a Prince. I’ve gotta warn you about Princes. We’re the biggest goddamn troublemakers. You’ve got some major pain and drama waiting for you in any session with a Prince. The Prince of Life is certainly no different. They are frighteningly powerful. They can destroy Life itself, or destroy with Life. Either directly killing someone by destroying their Life, or other shenanigans. I could see them doing something like creating diseases. They can also destroy Life on a metaphorical level. Destroying growth, luxury, and energy. You know the expression ‘destroying someone’s life’? Yeah, the Prince can do something kind of like that if they get the chance. By far your session’s biggest troublemaker, but a major asset. Defeating enemies is a snap for them, and should they choose to apply their powers in a more subtle manner they could potentially create a disease that causes a mass Dersite extinction. Getting all of the game’s major enemies out of the way for good, including the monarchs. But, they’re probably going to want to be a leader, which is going to cause some issues along the line…

Sylph of Time, one who creates/heals Time or with Time. As your Time player, the Sylph helps the Space player breed the Genesis Frog and stops your timeline from becoming doomed. Thankfully, they’ll be proficient in both of these. Sylphs are very capable and talented with their aspect, and they always seem to know what to do. This Sylph can heal Time. Which probably means healing the timeline itself. An almost certain safeguard against your timeline becoming doomed. However, not all is sunshine and roses here. The Sylph of Time, like any Sylph, is a meddlesome and sometimes very feisty person. They’re going to have aspirations of leadership. Just like everyone else in the session.

Expanding on that, let’s take one more look at who’s involved. The Knight of Space is the mom friend, the supportive one, the one who wants to keep everyone out of trouble. The most sane and rational person on your team. The Witch of Doom would run a very tight ship as leader, wanting everyone to do what they said to do. But they could be persuaded to let someone else try. They’re not so much the type to create rules as to change what’s there. They’re a Witch, after all. They’re pretty reasonable if approached by someone level-headed and friendly. The Prince of Life, on the other hand, is a problem. Life is an aspect connected to leadership. All three Life players in canon, Feferi, Jane, and Meenah, liked to think of themselves as leaders. The Prince is going to be very… overbearing. They believe that due to their sheer efficiency in taking out enemies (something that they do have a point about), they have the right to be the leader. They’ll force themselves into the position, and set all kinds of rules and restrictions on the other players to get them to do what the Prince wants. They won’t take kindly to any sort of perceived mutiny or betrayal, and risk lashing out in dangerous ways. It’ll probably take all three of their teammates to pacify them, but it’s a necessary effort. You absolutely don’t want them to go rogue on you. Not a single classpect is better at killing than they are. Assassination, disease, just straight-up slaughter… The Prince of Life excels in destroying and erasing Life. Finally, the Sylph of Time is a meddlesome and sometimes fiery person, but they’re pretty rational. Convince them if they shouldn’t become leader, and they’ll relent.

Overall, your session has a great mix of players, but some concerning interpersonal issues. The leadership squabbles risk leading the Prince to go rogue, which is essentially game over. Potentially Game Over, if you know what I mean. However, if you can get past that, your team has an amazing mix of players. Good offense and support. The Knight and especially Prince are very good attackers, and the Witch and Sylph are fantastic supporting team members. If your team can get its act together and experience some team unity, nothing will stop you. I give it 7/10, because the Prince is the only real troublemaker and the other players are all probably pretty rational. The Prince of Life is the MVP by the virtue of easily eliminating any enemies.

Okay so i binged the whole thing last night from 12am until 5am in the morning and i just have to get my thoughts out there. Dont read if you havent watched already!!! Spoilers!!! Okay so let me just say i fucking loved it. Right yes, i think we all did. Keith had so much growth as a character and i didnt even know how much i wanted that until ot was happening. I had a feeling when Shiro kept brining up him leading Voltron that it was hinting at the end of the season Shiro would either be dead or missing. (IM GLAD HES MISSING BECAUSE IT MEANS HES NOT DEAD RIGHT???) But i cant express my level of excitement to know that Keith is going to get to be temporary leader. Even though i love Space dad and want him to return... Keith will make an amazing leader. Perhaps even a better leader than Shiro! I also love the fact that Keith has an incredible connection with his lion. That was something i was HOPING would happen to at least one of the paladins. But its fitting for Keith because the very first time Red meets Keith, it jumps out into space to save him. Which he/she did a few times in season 2 now. Also the lions have genders. Hunk is confirmed a boy and Pidge is confirmed a girl and thats just... i needed that. Now i want to know what the other three are!!! Pidge not knowing which bathroom to go into. *clutches heart* im not even going to begin on my feels for a trasngender/nonbinary character in a show. This is IMPORTANT. i love it. And no one can argue that Pidge didnt know which door was which because Keith came out of the -obviously- mens room later in that episode. My only real critique for season 2 has to be the fact that once again Lance and Hunk seemed to get little to none character development. Especially Lance it seemed. And i dont like his character being forgotten about. He has insecurities and theyve only just touched on them breifly. I would REALLY like to see Season 3 focus more on Lance as a strong member of the team. Im hoping that since Keith has to lead Voltron, Lance steps up and becomes the *erhem* right-hand-man that Keith was TO Shiro. Fire and Ice, Keith and Lance, Neck and neck, SPACE RANGER PARTNERS. RIGHT? Another thing that really irritated me was the fact that Allura admittedly wanted to hate Keith. And its understandable WHY she did, but i also thought it was super fucked up. Keith has taken more risks than any of the other Paladins, its in his character and his nature to do that, but Allura instantly distrusted him. I have to wonder if she would have felt the same about Shiro if HE was part Galra (by BLOOD i should specify because technically his arm makes him part Galra already). Allura did apologize and hug Keith and thats great n all but i still dont like her way of thinking. Shes a strong female character, but i like her less in season 2 now than i did in season 1. Smh. Speaking of female characters im 99.9% convinced that the Galra Keith met in the stomach of the worm is his mother. I will fight you on this. I know Keith called it a him/he but i think thats purposeful to make it a bigger reveal later on because i know thats not the last we will see of that Galra. Final thoughts. - Shay misses Hunk and i love them - Pidge has a lead on where Matt is and i really hope we get some Matt action in season 3. (Especially after Shiro said Matt and Pidge are a lot alike because Pidge is a badass) - They either have a cow now or they...like... pushed it out into open space??? -Season 3 will not come fast enough. Where my fanart anf fanfics to hold me over? - I know its probably pretty lame of me, but i swear if they make Allura and Keith have a love interest in each other i will stop watching the show. Not just cus i love Klance but because im upset with Allura and Keith deserves better. - Lance is a mermaid and he doesnt need pants. :D im GLAD I GOT THAT ALL OUT OF MY SYSTEM.

In Norse mythology, and in the marvels first two movies, Thor is a hero, in every sense of the word. Strong, handsome, powerful, always won. The unfortunate part about Thor is that he’s cocky, and too headstrong. Now, if I were so make a parallel here I would say that I’m a bit headstrong as well, but at the same time, no reason for me to be, unlike our hero who has magical powers and a magical hammer. Where our hero starts to get off track, and come down to a more realistic sense of humanity, and depression, is in the final movie endgame, Thor becomes depressed, and gains weight, and doesn’t look like the hero he once was. *I use the marvel version, because in Norse mythology, Thor ends up dying, during Ragnarök*. The marvel version is more realistic, it’s more humanised and real to us. The reason for this transformation from hero to zero, for Thor, was when he realized that his purpose had officially ended. His family was all dead, and he didn’t have the love of his life anymore. He didn’t really have much else to live for, so he enters this downward spiral, he becomes over weight, addicted to booze, and video games not having much else to live for, and subsequently becomes a very bad role model and terrible leader. I’m sure his confidence was at an all time low. This wouldn’t really help, especially when they go to convince him that he needs to help them out, he doesn’t feel like he’s worth it anymore. I feel this, even though no one reinforces the idea of you being great, you’re still worth while, I feel this in the gym, I feel it at work, and just when I think it’s not worth it anymore there’s a little glimmer of hope that shines out of no where and it says “Hey man, you’re not completely useless” and it helps. When Thor is summoned in the movie endgame, it gives him that little bit of hope, that he’s meant for something. Fast forward to where they need to use the gauntlet that will most likely kill who ever uses it *SPOILER ALERT* iron man…* Thor lets the idea of doubt creep back into his mind (which inevitably does to us, and again another stage of anxiety and depression creeps in). So what does Thor do, he wants to hop on the grenade basically, he thinks that if anyone needs to die its him. He thinks cause he’s a god it wont kill him, but it most certainly would have. I’ve felt that before, where hey guys the only thing im good for is taking a beating, or being the scape goat or what have you. Just to feel like a contributing member of the team, and it sucks when you feel this way. But leading back to the Thor portion, he ends up manning up, and becoming one of the more powerful avengers when called upon. I go through this sometimes too, when what ever it is your doing doesn’t seem that important you lose the care and the effort that you want to put into it, and you don’t give it your all. Although at the moment when you are called upon great things can happen, I find that when I feel important, and needed, and people put their trust in me, I feel like I do a better job, I feel more of a purpose, and therefore makes me happier with what I have to do, and makes me do a better job. Mostly I like Thor cause he shoots lightening bolts, he’s strong, he’s a god. But more than that in the movies they made him human, and it was more relatable. And it helps seeing the most powerful people be vulnerable, because it makes me feel better about being there too.
