Tumblr will always be my favourite place on the internet but I think it's time for me to finally suck it up and move on. I feel a little bit silly writing this because I'm getting a little bit emotional over my assignment. This community has given me so much and I feel like haven't given nearly enough in return but unfortunately, I have nothing left to give. I'll forever be grateful for the escape this hellsite provided me with while I was struggling with my mental health because I never would have made it this far without the home I made for myself on here. The friends and memories I made here were some of the best moments in my life and I'll always miss staying up until 4am just so I could be awake with everyone else. Life caught up with me and although the stress is one of the reasons I'm no longer active it's also partly because I lost interest. AFTG was something I held really close to my heart but I've slowly drifted away from the fandom. I dont recognise most of the usernames in the tag anymore because the fandom just keeps growing even after Nora kind of sort of abandoned us and left us to our own devices. I made my fair share of contributions to the aftg tag and I hope the people to come dont let such a talented, diverse fandom die. Although I've moved on to a different fandom, I still love this one too. I found out recently that one of my comfort fics were deleted and I respect the authors reasoning and I'm not holding anything against them. Seeing them take it down because they lost interest and felt as though they needed to finish it while it was sitting there--it made me realise that I should move on too.

I'd like to thank @the-court-of-chaos for everything, I made some really good memories with y'all and I miss what we were. I'm very tired, and I think that Tumblr just isn't for me anymore but I'd like to say goodbye to everyone before I go. KAT'S YEAR REVIEW & A THANK YOU NOTE

hello my lovelies! we reached the end of this year (thank god) and i have a few things to say and a lot to thank for you guys.

(i promise that the rest of my writing is not in this font lol)

this year sucked. bigtime. everyone was all over 2020, how bad it was and all but lemme tell you, 2021 wasn't that much better either. first half of this year was spent with struggling trying to find a job while spiraling down into the rabbit hole of self-pity and depression. finally in may (after 8 months of searching), i got accepted to a place that wasn't (and isn't) any better than what I had left behind in 2020. still, it is somewhat better and i least i have a monthly income for now.

but i still very much like to move on to something else in 2022 so here is the first thing im hoping for next year: a good job with a good salary, something i enjoy doing. (huh good luck you dumb biatch lol)

so all in all, i hated this year but!! there are a few things that made is somewhat bareable and it is all thanks to you guys! (here comes the soppy part so buckle up)

i (re)discovered the world of fanfiction throughout the pedro fandom sometime in november, 2020. i have all that time in my hands since i didnt have a job and i got really into it. ever since then, i find it hard at nights to go to sleep without reading anything before it (kinda became a tradition of mine if you will) and during the winter, reading fanfics helped me tremendously. they helped me escape from my miserable, jobless, futureless and lonely af life and they helped me get through the day. they brought me joy, sometimes tears in a good way and i caught myself staying up til 2 or 3 just to read "one more" chapter of a certain fic.

i still cant believe you guys are doing this for free, for our entertainment (and yours) ! sharing your wonderful works with us and expecting nothing in return (except for the obviously well deserved likes & reblogs) is truly a wonder i never be able to comprehend!

tumblr is truly a hellsite, it gave me so much anxiety since i joined back in actively yet... tumblr is also that thing that gave me the most joy this year with y'all in it.

so  the  first  anime  i  probably  ever  watched  was  yu-gi-oh.  one  of  my  biggest  blogs  ever  on  this  hellsite  was  my  original  atem  blog  which  amassed  1k  followers  when  i  actually  gave  a  damn  about  having  the  support  of  the  community.  the  anime  is  well  over  20  years  old  and  you  know,  when  i  made  the  blog,  i  assumed  the  fandom  would  be  pretty  quiet  and  obscure  ---  an  escape  for  me  from  the  other  big  time  fandoms  i  dabbled  in  but  ho  boy  was  i  wrong.

no  one  ever  REALLY  leaves  that  fandom.  for  all  the  bat  shit  crazies  i  met  in  it,  there  was  also  a  slew  of  genuinely  cool  people  who  were  passionate  about  the  Egyptian  lore  and  of  course,  card  games.  my  very  best  RP  friend  and  soulmate  was  met  in  that  fandom.  i  will  never  have  another  priest  like  her.  and  then  there’s  the  wife,  who  listens  to  me  cry  over  all  the  things  cos  i  suck  about  as  much  as  atem  when  it  comes  to  techno  things.  my  crazy  kaibar (  you know  who  you  are  )  and  a  few  others  who  have  come  and  gone.

anyway,  its  sad  to  hear  about  the  passing  of  the  creator.  his  characters  were  one  half  of  my  childhood.  and  i  STILL  have  that  grumpy  pharaoh  as  one  of  my  mains.  sad  we  won’t  be  getting  anymore  chapters  from  him;  any  fleshing  out  of  stories  im  sure  he  wanted  to  dig  into  eventually.  as  for  me,  i  enjoy/enjoyed  what  its  given  me  over  the  years  which  is  a  way  to  perfect  my  art  and  bring  some  fun  to  people  who  actually  enjoy  my  interpretation  of  his  main  character.  the  field  of  reeds  is  getting  a  good  soul;  certain  a  certain  pharaoh  and  his  court  will  welcome  him  with  all smiles.  rest  in  power  kazuki  takahashi!

plagiarism. whether it be a character or a plot idea, don't steal from anybody. people work hard on their characters and plots. i understand not many plots can be considered original, but everyone comes up with their own twists. stop stealing.

white washing. as a poc person, i have dealt with a lot of racism both irl and on tumblr. it was to a point i took two years off of this hellsite. so do not change a poc character into a white one. we've been erased as it is. and if you struggle trying to match a character to its race, do not feel afraid to ask someone for help on it. there are also websites that show you an fc's ethnicity as well.

not knowing where the line is between mun and muse. they are two completely different things.

god modding. for the love of all that is chuck, do not control what anyone else's character does!! we all control our own characters and that's how it should be. this also means doing something crazy that someone else may not approve of so if you want to do something, ask first.

force ship, simple as that

anon hate. seriously, that kind of negativity should never be welcomed nor encouraged. we all come here to escape as it is so just let everyone have fun writing.

trash talking someone's portrayal. realistically, we all interpret canon characters differently than others and that is okay. no one's version is right or wrong. no one is the "chanel/walmart" version.

shit stirrers. people don't get along sometimes, it happens. but don't be someone who fuels the fire between two people when all they wanted was to clear the air and talk.

rushing people to reply and shaming them when they don't reply fast enough. everyone has real lives and can't always get to it. now a simple nudge to let someone know they replied maybe weeks later just in case they missed it is fine. but if you're going to put pressure on people? stop.

using mental health as an excuse to be a shitty person. many people here suffer with different kinds of disorders and that is no one's fault. but that does not mean it's a pass to be a horrible person. you choose how to treat people around you. you choose whether or not to be a good person.

i can go on and on, but we don't have time for that so here is the rest of the list on the top of my head: self victimizing, ignoring triggers, trying to control your rp partners, bullying, not understanding that rping is a hobby and not a jobby, lack of respect for female characters both canon and oc, ect.
