maybe i'm not the brightest (definitely not when it comes to tech) but does feeding images into an ai to generate (GENERATE!!) cas items not sound like generative ai??? are people not allowed to be skeptical??? some people seem to be (perhaps intentionally) glossing over that point in their rush to bend over backward to moralize themselves because they want to keep playing this game and, like, fine. do that. but all the grandstanding about how we don't have all the facts is crazy from people who were (rightfully) rabid over inzoi. it's just odd. sorry, i just needed to get this off because i feel kind of gaslit by the dashboard right now.

yeah im not a tech person and i know that ai has been a thing in technology for a very long time but you’re right anon! that sounds like generative ai 😭 but also i just think eventually ea will use generative ai down the line whether we know or it not. atp, it just makes sense for them to use it because they’re lazy, uncreative, and money hungry. even if it doesn’t turn out to be generative ai, expecting the worse from ea is literally not the worst thing someone can do with an evil captalist company! i would rather people “overreact” and distrust everything ea and ts4 team say than believing them and feeding into their tricks and lies by a) giving them money b) dismissing concerns over unethical practices c) and then dunking on anti ai people who literally just want the generative ai shit to stop so the world isn’t falling off the bone in 5-10 years.

also i feel like most of the people who were upset about inzoi (me including) are or will be 100% upset over the fact that sims, any new life simulation game, and program will use ai….so what’s the point of repeating themselves (unless they’re up ea’s ass) and explaining to ppl why ai is bad every time new ai news comes out? the same people mad at anti ai ppl would be upset and still scoffing at what ppl said about ts4 using ai anyways so 😭

now is my time to shine and say that I hated Bunny by Mona Awad. im hard pressed to find an insufferable character i don't like (or, yk, find compelling) but the main character of this novel was unbearable. there's only so much caustic snark i can read from one person before the whole novel gets bogged down with jadedness (like we get it! everyone sucks and is terrible! <- i felt like awad was telling us this, repeatedly, rather than showing it). and i found it rather underwhelming,, like ur dark fantasy is someone (a man) who can love ur best friend like you're too afraid to and torture the mean girls you can't stand? alrightttt i found myself just finishing it because i wanted to move on to something else

ik a lot of ppl really enjoyed the book and im definitely in the minority but i am speaking my truth!

oooh interesting bunny's been on my reading list like since shortly after it came out but i've never gotten around to picking it up & u are not the only person i've heard criticize it!! at this point ive seen mixed reviews i def think a lot of people really like it but even the tone w which people praise it has started to make me skeptical abt reading it myself...feels like...similar vibe 2 people going "omg yasss female rage" if that makes sense. & have heard others make similar critiques 2 urs so atp im on the fence abt whether i wanna read it anymore

The stuff you put in the tarot tag isn’t insensitive by any means! It’s very basic and typical and the same thoughts we all had. “It’s placebo” “they’re just telling you want you want to hear” etc.

In my opinion, it takes a bone chilling experience to get the average person or skeptics to believe it. Personally, I came to believe tarot when a random tumblr tarot reader was able to identify the drama I was having between my boyfriend and friend (some how knowing two people were involved in my issues) and even being able to differentiate them by race and appearance. The only prior knowledge I gave this person was my initials and age. Didn’t even tell them I was in drama. It was a general free reading so I could test if it was legit or just some chick wanting attention spewing random stuff and I got my ass handed to me.

I’d say give it a chance? It doesn’t hurt to see whats out there, or challenge your own beliefs and assumptions. It can be scary though. I was much more “insensitive” than you ever were. Literally thought they were all nut jobs and scammers until my experience, and now I get tarot readings just to find out more about my personality, red flags, anything I’m not fully aware of. It’s a great tool for self improvement outside of all the magic witchy stuff you see

Many of the stories ive heard go like that where people who are major skeptics are converted to believers in some capacity after something they have no other way to explain. In some ways i think it would be super cool to experience but in other ways you hear of people who are like “this happened and it sucks because if i talk about it people think im insane so it’s kind of isolating” and i think i would probably at minimum be incredibly frustrated that ppl would think im lying lmao 🙃 but hey if i ever see an apparition or have a crazy accurate reading someday maybe i will pop onto the ole tumblr cave here and share my experience w it, who the heck knows. I have a lot of thoughts on this type of stuff that i go back and forth with when hearing peoples stories, but ultimately atp in my life im just not a believer. I feel like a lot of it could be explained and everything seems supernatural until science finds a way to explain it and i don’t think that has to make it less cool bc frankly i am also a giganerd lol

like i grew up in an environment where if you were even remotely chubby, good luck even trying to be a person, you were fat before everything else; you’re considered undesirable just because you’re fat, you were the butt of all fat jokes that totally aren’t done to death atp, and tv shows and movies were just as bad if not worse

everytime i saw a fat person on tv without fail they’d be in one of these categories: the comic relief, the dumb one who can only think about food, or the villain. very rarely (if ever) id see a fat person not be in any of these categories and i was definitely getting flak solely because i was fat.

so to see all these people suddenly coming out of the woodwork going “I LOVE FAT BITCHES” or “bbw warrior” makes me feel, idk, kinda skeptical? at best? and at worst it straight up makes me wanna question them

omg okok so the gist of the taening fic (greenland is the title lOL) is that hyuka is from a long line of mushers (sledding dog sport) and he's a late bloomer because unlike his siblings, he grew up in hawaii, so he didn't really have time to adjust to the cold weather + has a soft spot for dogs like this mfer feels bad for keeping them on a leash LMAO. taehyun's family are polar explorers so he's used to traveling back and forth between the city and the arctic. absolutely hates it. meets hyuka as a kid and helps out the huening family take care of their huskies cos he's bored and his parents are busy doing science stuff. it's a slow burn f2l tale with soft bean hyuka who cries when taehyun yells at the dogs and taehyun having to remind hyuka that it's literally their job to be sled dogs LOL.
