Yep yep! Ink has two dads, and one of them is Zephyr!Gaster or Aster. He's super adorable, you should check out his FAQ!

Ink and his other dad (Undertop!Gaster) teaches him about the Multiverse and on the other hand Aster teaches Ink to enjoy things (machinery, blueprints, astrophysics) that don't rely on his inky creation powers!

Ink does some other non paint stuff too, he plays the flute for one and iirc, he is trying sewing, which is why I made my variant of him get into embroidery

hmmmmm………… just a small ramble:

I did base their designs mostly off of Deep Cut as I am working on a crossover too. it‘s been a month now and my understanding of Splatoon has been widened so I have some more ideas I didn‘t add into this original image :p

-Nm‘s clothes are metal/leather-type machinery built in to mimic his aura and emotion-enhancing abilities (of sorts? this was my original idea for it); he Could have them naturally but I thought having speakers and all on his design instead to enhance his voice and by that influence would be nice (I. would go into more detail but not rn XD)

-Despite Big Man being a manta ray, I made Ccino an inkling too, as I thought it would fit more into the group and all

-Yes, Nm is based off Shiver who did not work in the arms like (Marina!)Dream would have, but I have two crossovers and I (make the rules) believe he was an elite. Now, elites have the start of their tentacles typically be black, but I did see in official arts too that that could depend on the ink infused with them? it never happened in game so this is more of a headcanon now, but the start of the tentacles are black, just not for this image

-Killer just got some special ink to get his hair like that, inklings can‘t be elites since that‘s specifically just an octarian rank :3

-i made their fingers be dyed in their colours just like the Deep Cut (Nm -> Killer -> Ccino and then back around)

Referring to my previous post on Emotional Echolocation Dream (this post), I wanted to share more thoughts on NM's side of his Empathic abiltiies! Just like his twin, Passive NM could feel feelings from an object with some time and focus. Before the gifts to NM trickled into the void, most gifts to NM were trembling with the echoes of a cornered dog, growling with its tail between its legs (most of the time he waited until Dream had wandered to take the gifts from their hiding place. NM refused to let Dream tap into these gifts full of what ifs and a looming bear. Then after collecting them using the gifts as much as possible while thinking of old memories of just Dream and himself atop their hill).

Passive NM could feel a lightness, a joy, in the gifts too, but he often paused with wider eyes. The villager must've been having happy memories of wrapping another childs present. Simple mistakes happen all the time, so Nightmare leaves out these little positive ones to let Dream feel them too. His twins smile mixed with a few claps and dancing toes makes NM grin through the trees of guilt.

After consuming the apples, feeling the emotions inside one specific object became... difficult to say the least. His abilties spanned over au's. Growing large and pulling itself to every corner. Focusing on something as little as a shirt was difficult and a waste of time.

Although, it wasn't something he particularly cared about. Feeling the Negativity directly from the source was much more filling. Nightmare doesn't need to feel the emotions inside an object. He can conclude those for himself afterall. He is quite the horrifying creature for someone to meet inside their safe space. After a century, that mindset changes purely out of bordem(and a little curiosity), he starts practicing on trying to feel specific objects.

Nightmare conculded that one, trying to sense the emotions of something smaller than a chair was simply fruitles. It is near impossible to focus all his powers all at once on such a miniscule and worthless object. Two, it is much simpler to take the average emotion of a building/larger area. For example, to feel everything inside a apartment complex, then put it all in a blender, mix it together, and take a drink that way. It becomes one big glorious rock, full of negativity thanks to the being itself sitting atop their roofs. If the Source of the initial negativity is a main meal, the rock of generalized feelings Nightmare absorbs are dessert(these taste different depending on the AU. Nightmare's favorite AU's at this point in the multiverse consist of Underfells and Horrortales. The length of their despair is so old its engraved into their very existence. The best places to recover after an battle).

Lastly, after another 45 years of experiments, Nightmare made a break through. If all the tentacles were holding different small objects, then his hands held holding another two, with immense focus and time, Nightmare could list the emotions from the individual objects. It would be ineffective in almost any future scenario due to the average length of the operations, he'd write down after, but it is good knowledge to know. He only does anything similar later on if an object holds critical information relating to an AU(emotions tell stories. A pathway full of stones could leave a touch of despair as their vicitm runs) or a member of his gang(Cross is one he used this abilty on once he was back at the castle. There wasn't much to feel in the empty AU, and that made focusing on feeling the papers and pens emotions even easier Nightmare later notes. X-Tale will continue to be useful).

killer should know about dumb video game meta stuff ike i-frames and animation cancels and critting amd breaking out of bounds and use it to his advantage in fights. maybe he learned it from chara in something new as a silly little thing to try out because theyre already teaching him all this bullshit on killing so whos to say a video game character cant learn a player's cheats?? he's already interacted and collaborated with a player before i think its fair he knows tricks on how to cheat undertale's fighting system

everything's all fine and dandy in a fight against killer (no it isn't) until you see him glitching around and somehow phasing through your attacks. he looks ridiculous but it gets the job done

Nightmare and Dust - Oh god. oh fuck oh god. weird special connection bcs of what happened but also oh my god. Nightmare and Horror - Let me take care of you. no u Nightmare and Cross - Double royalty,,,, pretty boys <3 Killer and Dust - Ahahaha you both have so much trauma but we r both gonna pretend we dont <3 Killer and Horror - First to meet!! Close but dont show it often,,,, also large x small real Killer and Cross - Crush at first. stabbing. the pretty boy duo <3 Dust and Horror - You are not okay. Neither of you are. I cant explain it yet but they do Reaper and Geno - "You are supposed to be dead" "GEE I WASNT FUCKING AWARE OF THAT THANKS" Blue and Val (Lust) - Besties!! also maybe dating? god knows they dont know Val and Red - Friends who also have sex sometimes yknow how it is Geno and Dust - Supposed to be dead duo <3 Cross, Blue, Dream - Guilt guilt guilt guilt and more guilt!! Ink and Nightmare - See im supposed to hate you because you are "the other side" but error likes you so i will tolerate you Dust and Error - How did you two even end up friends?????? like you are but how??? did this happen??? Nightmare, Killer, Dust, Horror, Cross - bad sans poly real. error and nm are married but error doesnt consider themself apart of this. besties with the gang tho somewhat Sci, Geno, Dust - Scientist trio!!! i think religion and spirituality is sort of dying out by the time undertale itself takes place? there's honestly barely any talk of the Surface or any traditions at all, and the most prominent religious symbol in deltarune is mentioned in exactly one place by one really old shopkeeper. love you gerson

that being said i think undertale's religion is sort of a mishmash of surface things. a dash of abrahamic religion (mainly about the concept of an Angel and the idea of eternal salvation), plenty of star imagery (wishing on the stars in waterfall, save stars.. god. save stars.), maybe some traditions seen in magazines rescued from the surface (christmas,, i'm fond of the gyftmas headcanon but iirc they really do just call it christmas ingame LOL)

hope, compassion, and wishes are extremely important too i think, and they've rooted themselves in the basis for monster culture even divorced from their religious roots.

i cannot think about actual organized traditions but these things haunt me sometimes anyway utmv ask coming next
