ok so first of all i haven't run any of this by @thelongforgottenrealm -- this is 100% hc'ing and therefore may or may not be in any way accurate, but id mentioned i was thinking abt this vs @forgottenroderick's coronation which i think was quite different (tho tbf he's had multiple crownings so they're probs pr old hat for him atp alkdjsflksdfj) eilia has only had the one

anyway! ok so i have this hc that maybe astaira, given its value system, maybe used some of the ancient anglo-saxon forms of government, so this is highly inspired by the witan's and its election of rulers, etc!

ASTAIRAN SELECTION OF THE FUTURE RULER

so my thought was that maybe you aren't just ~born to rule in astaira and that you are, in fact, chosen and must accept this choice given that its v much a role of service in their culture etc!! so, like the anglo-saxon aethelings, im thinking that there was a pool of candidates, so before her election, eilia was only the heiress presumptive rather than the heiress apparent bc it has to be voted and ratified by the witan/great council of astaira, a council made up of all the other leaders and magnates of astaira, each in turn repping the interests of their own ppl to the best of their ability etc

anyway! aethelings in early anglo-saxon culture are anyone born to a noble family (eventually it became just sons of the king, and that's usually how its translated now, but initially it was more!), but im thinking maybe for astaira its a slightly different qualification -- you have to have completed a trial of sortsans well as having having displayed your abilities by performing charitable acts and such on a big scale etc as well as having submitted your name to a list for consideration etc, that sort of thing! -- that way anyone no matter the rank of their family, can apply, but it also means you're not automatically in the pool even if you don't wanna be since its a srs responsibility etc! now, no question it'd def be easier to do this if you're already backed wealth and power etc but yeah!! here we are!!

so anyway! eilia's been trained for this her whole life, she wants it, she's good at it, she gets chosen. a representative is sent to her to invite her to take the crown for astaira's sake, and she of course accepts. this would def also have a public ceremony of her formally accepting the crown etc.

CROWNING

ok so i def picture her coronation as having taken place during the spring. everything is beautiful and green! t he and i do feel like there's a humility sort of aspect like they used to do so!! i also feel like they brought live, flowering frees into the palace and into whatever shrine in which she was crowned in the sight of the guardians/symbolically BY the guardians, etc and that everyone who came to witness was wearing like...flower and ivy crowns and such and there were garlands of flowers strung everywhere and babbling brook ran along the path from the castle to the shrine and birds were singing and it was all v lovely and v natural and v astairan etc

eilia's purification in which she is taken by the hand by a seeress who brings her to the brook in question which, having its mouth at the shrine, is considered a holy spring, and wearing just her shift w her hair unbound etc she is sort of dunked/bathed and lets all the old run away from her so she can paproach her new role as queen w a pure heart. the seeress then drapes her own cloak around eilia and, however poor it may be, it is a gift from astaira, and a mantel of state

next, still led by the seeress, eilia goes on foot without any shoes, cloaked in her new mantel of state and processes from the brook by her castle to the shrine. singers and musicians accompany her and those all around her may offer her any goods they like, all of which become artifacts of state and her reign and is is thus clothed rarhter than in any guady ornaments of gold and such -- woool and cotton and such things are what she wears, handmade by her ppl for her to wear as their leader

lots of these items are traditionally bracelets of flowers and vines, gloves to keep her warm on her walk, shoes, etc -- all of these meant to be the sort of thing ur common astairan would wear so that, no matter how guady her lifestyle might become, she will know what iis to spend a day clothed as an ordinary astairan is, and noen of it is intended to be rich or fine etc tho special care is often given to crafting such objects as a thank you to the new ruler etc. ba sically, the theme of the day is simplicity, and everything she is given must be white

throughout the day, she is obliged to ask for anything she might want. if she wishes to eat, if she wishes to sleep at the end of the day, whatever! she will spend the rest of her life giving orders, so today is for receiving them

when she reaches the shrine, which is totally open so everyone can see, etc, a humble bench is carried and she is obliged to sit there and hear the wishes of anyone who wishes to speak for her new reign. this can be literally anything! a tiny child can stand up and say they love kittnes! an old man can tell her that his crops are dead but his sheep are still fairing well! a student can wax poetical about philosophy!!! needless to say, this takes hours and hours and in some cases this part has gone on for days w the new ruler sleeping on the wooden bench only to wake the next morning to hear more, still obliged to beg for food from the ppl around etc until ppl stop coming up w things to say! it p robs does tend to be longer the worse the previous reign was bc there are more needs etc and, since i hc that eilia's dad was a pr good ruler, i imagine eilia's was relatively short

anyway, once that's finished, the seeress sends someone, called the herald of the seer, to the new ruler to take them by the hand and ask once again if they are still willing to take all this on!!!! if they decline after all that, there's no shame and they can return to their life etc.

if they still accept the charge -- which obv eilia did! -- the herald of the seer takes eilia by the hand and leads her into the shrine. there, she first asks the ppl to pray for her, then prays herself, and finally presents the gifts which the ppl of astaira have given her to the guardians as a symbolic gesture of the mutual relationship between ppl/ruler/guardians etc

now dressed only in her shift, again, eilia is clothed in the heavy robe of state which is, by design, quite physically hefty to represent the burden of rule

the bench is then carried into the shrine and, in the sight of all w the doors still flung open etc, eilia is crowed by the seer. the crown is also quite heavy for the same reason

now crowned queen, eilia processes back to the palace and is feted all the way w dancers and singers and poets

all are welcome to the palace, where live blooming trees reach towards the star-painted ceiling and a living stream has been brought inside, w the doors and windows all open and anyone who wishes to enter free to do so

anyway yeah obv none of this is canon! these were just some idea i had!!!

also def hc that the seeress who crowned eilia was ~also aine whom arthur later beheaded at kil-kennar so! that's fun!!

I just need to let it out. Here is my reaction to watching Frozen 2.

SPOILER WARNING

First, the animation is gorgeous. I just love the little details they put in expressing emotions. Also the setting with the autumn season is breathtaking. The water movement in one scene is amazing. All of their dresses are beautiful. Totally worth watching in the theater.

The music and soundtrack really added to the atmosphere of the scene. Kristen and Bobby Lopez are brilliant as ever. I like that there are some tunes from the original frozen that were added in this movie. My favorite song, which I've been listening since I've watch the movie is Show yourself. Add it to a spectacular transformation of Elsa on screen. JUST JAWDROPPING... Special mention to Evan Rachel Wood. Such a gorgeous voice of Queen Iduna. Also Kristen Bell, aka Anna's, Next right Thing song. The lyrics hits hard. The way it describes Anna's grieving from losing 2 important persons in her life was heartbreaking. And the words, "take a step, and another", was so real I felt it so hard. And the emotion in KB's voice was amazing.

Next is the voice acting. Everyone was superb. But the one that took my attention was Kristen Bell. Gosh the way she spoke just after her grieving scene was heart breaking. I can feel the desperation in her. I just.. She's amazing. Anna is my favorite character in this movie, that's for sure.

And the story... I just want to say I felt empty after the movie. I sat there in the cinema trying to understand what I was feeling and to calm down. Good thing for that because I was able to see the post credit scene about Olaf telling the story to Marshmallow and Snowgies. Anyway, it took me days later to understand what I was feeling and it was sadness. Yes just sadness. I went to that movie to watch the sisters tackle the challenges they are facing TOGETHER. Because I love them so much, I want to see them interact and grow and bond. But... Why did they do this? I was not ready to see them separated. This hurt. I wish they went with this separation thing in a third movie, not in this one when the original movie was still fresh. They were separated as kids, but then reunited in the end of the 1st movie. But then suddenly they needed to be separated again, this time permanently. No. I need to see them more together, maybe for few movies and then bring out the separation thing.

Let me add that I did not understand why they needed to be separated. Why. Because Elsa is now a Goddess so she has to stay in the forest? Or is that her choice? Is it because she wanted freedom. But Elsa never strike me as someone who would want to live in the forest. Away from the comfort of secure castle walls, that a BIG change. If anyone, I can see Anna living in the forest, not Elsa. I can't imagine her cooking her own food, making her own bed and tent, and dealing with dirt, bugs, and mud. I'm lost. She was so OOC.

Anyway, Im happy to see Queen Anna. She deserves it. I love it, she looks stunning in her Queen outfit. Just.. Dress is too black, but its beautiful.

The first part of the movie was ok. The sisters facing uncertainty and going on an adventure to save Arrendale TOGETHER. But the ending really weirded me out.

I heard there was a big change in the script so close to the deadline. But the one I heard was so absurd, I dont believe it.

BACKSTORY !

christian, the second trueborn child to the king and queen of luxembourg, never really liked his title. he didn’t like the way his peers treated him in primary school when they knew who he was, hated having security detail watch his every move. 

he would often do things that his parents asked of him, but he didn’t like being a royal one bit. he’d go to lessons with a heavy heart, but would pay full attention -- he was never one to do things half-assed.

as he grew up, he matured a little, no longer throwing temper tantrums but learned to rebel in his own way. he’d sneak out of the castle, not to go out and party but to jump on a train to france or spain or italy and soak in the culture.

in his mind, he wanted to believe that luxembourg was just boring, that his father’s monarchy and rulership was flawed and that other countries had it better, knew better ... but while he could never confirm this theory of his, he learned a lot about history and culture of other countries. 

he became an adventurer: someone who blended in with the commoners, who grabbed at tourist maps, who became obsessed with photography. every spare minute he had from the few familial duties he had, was spent reading history books and planning his next adventure.

in school he was absent-minded, coasting by with good enough grades to get into the university of oxford (of course, his family’s name helped with that). he studied history and politics there, where he actually thought he had a calling. he liked school ... not to mention, it allowed him to have several months away from his parents. it was during this time where he created his global, holistic viewpoint about government and politics, and really started to loathe the policies for which his father stood. he’d seen firsthand how corrupt his parents could be to create such a ‘fruitful, happy’ society when he knew the backhanded deals that went on behind closed doors.

so he kept ‘acting out’, traveling to all corners of the world, taking breathtaking photographs wherever he went. he started working with magazines like national geographic to highlight different lifestyles, and partnered with some nonprofits to create awareness campaigns. he was in the middle of a tour in tanzania when he was called upon to attend the summit. christian is not particularly happy to have been pulled away from his adventures and sent directly into a swarm of politics, but he is excited to get the opportunity to discuss global matters with some incredibly influential people.

PERSONALITY !

he’s a bit of an enigma: if someone where to observe his whereabouts and his hobbies, they’d think he was super wild and into drinking and partying. while he enjoys a drink and a party from time to time, he really rebels in a more benevolent manner -- that is still pretty reckless, of course.

he’s incredibly friendly. he likes meeting people, getting to know them genuinely, learning about their adventures, their country’s policies, the works. his friendships are some of the only things that keep him grounded from the crazy things he does -- he is loyal to his friends to a fault, perhaps overly protective of them.

he’s definitely a romantic; from all the traveling and reading he’s done, christian wants nothing more than someone to share his adventures with. he’d say he’s in touch with his emotions, and wants to find love. needless to say, he wasn’t the happiest person when he heard his own wife would be chosen for him. he is having trouble accepting this fact, but ultimately believes that maybe he does have a path in politics and can be someone to help his country in the future, when his father’s throne is taken over. 

TIDBITS !

his camera and his journal are probably the two most important objects in his life. they contain photos and memories of some of the greatest adventures he has ever had.

to say he is a lover of art would be an understatement. he loves every aspect of it: classical, traditional, modern, architecture, art history -- you name it. he’s an art junkie who loves frequenting museums -- so far as to say he is acquainted with some curators of museums like the victoria and albert, moma, and the musee d’orsay.

but  whatever  you  do  ,  do  not  call  her  prycilla  .  despite  her  mother  chastising  her  after  correcting  people  for  addressing  her  by  her  given  name  ,  cilla  /  cece  /  whichever  name  you  would  decide  to  call  her  ,  she’d  prefer  it  rather  than  the  formality  of  ’prycilla’  .

she  was  fast  developing  as  a  child  ,  supporting  her  own  head  after  two  months  ,  uttering  her  first  word  after  nine  .  growing  up  ,  she  had  a  curious  mind  .  always  eager  to  explore  the  castle  she  would  grow  up  in  ,  often  getting  caught    &    having  to  flash  her  heart - melting  smile  in  order  for  them  to  not  tell  her  parents  .

but  despite  the  pressures    &    high  expectations  that  being  a  princess  would  bring  her  ,  cilla  was  content  .  she  had  a  smile  for  everyone  ,  an  unusual  softness  that  often  came  as  a  surprise  to  everyone  around  her  .  however  for  that  matter  ,  perhaps  she’s  a  little    too    soft  .  one  morning  she  found  a  butterfly  with  it’s  wing  trapped  in  a  beautiful  rose  bush    &    cried  until  someone  set  it  free  .  her  mother  used  to  say  that  her  kindness  would  be  her  greatest  downfall  ,  but  prycilla  would  smile    &    bounce  along  like  a  fairy  in  a  forgotten  meadow  .

as  she  grew  older  ,  the  weight  on  cilla’s  shoulder  grew  heavier    &    so  her  smiles  became  more  forced  .  she  was  always  told  to  stand  up  straight  ,  to  not  slouch  your  shoulders  ,  to  not  speak  unless  spoken  to  .  she  became  more  withdrawn  ,  feeling  more  comfort  in  her  silk  sheets  than  she  did  with  other  people  .  in  all  honesty  ,  she  never  felt  completely  content  unless  she  had  a  paint  brush  in  hand  .

give  her  a  smile  ,    &    she’ll  smile    &    bow  back  as  she  was  taught  to  .  but  give  her  a  book  or  a  brush  ,  she’ll  be  your  friend  for  life  .  cilla  was  a  born  visionary  ,  an  imagination  that  any  artist  should  have  .  but  her  mother  would  tell  her  it  can  be  nothing  more  than  a  hobby  .  but  if  you  were  to  watch  cilla  paint  a  robin  perched  on  a  tree  ,  or  sketch  the  rose  bush  in  the  castle’s  astonishing  gardens  ,  you’d  swear  she  was  a  professional  .

but  she  knew  of  her  duties  ,  so  she’s  become  more  introverted    &    closed  off  throughout  the  years  .  but  ,  cilla  has  always  had  a  gentle  heart  ,  so  despite  the  false  smiles  she  throws  around  there’s  a  naivity    &    innocence  to  her  that  has  stuck  around  since  she  found  the  butterfly  in  the  bush  .

she’s  absolutely  in  love  with  the  idea  of  love    &    falls  in  love  with  different  things  every  day  .  she  tends  to  wear  her  heart  on  her  sleeve  ,  forever  a  gentle  soul  who  will  do  anything  for  anyone  should  they  ask  her  for  something  .

appears  to  be  very  quiet  when  you  first  meet  her  ,  but  if  you  know  her  well  enough  you’ll  find  she  can  hold  interesting  conversations    &    has  a  very  hypnotic  way  of  speaking  .

there’s  probably  a  lot  more  but  my  brain  is  barely  functioning  after  a  day  of  traveling  so  i  hope  this  is  acceptable    !    i’ll  probably  add  more  once  i’ve  written  a  functional  bio  but  for  now  this  is  my  soft  daughter    !

my thoughts on Arrow 6x18

I was excited for this episode and it turns out there was good reason. I might just start trusting Steve when he gets hyped over episodes now, he’s building quite a track record. So let’s dive in. I literally took these notes while I was watching so I apologize if they’re a bit scattered. 

Okay, Oliver is clearly off the rails. S1-2 suit and all. The man is a wrecking ball.

Wait…where’d he get the old suit? Did he break into evidence lockup? Is that why he’s at the precinct? I HAVE QUESTIONS.

Wait, the lockup didn’t blow up when Siren blew up the previous place did it? I HAVE QUESTIONS, DAMMIT.

Ten hours earlier. Okay. So we learn why he’s nuts. Is it the Vertigo? I bet it the Vertigo.

If anyone can find rock solid proof of crooked city employees, its Felicity.

BAD COP CASTLE. LOL. Felicity is right. He can’t go in alone. Cuz that’s just INSANE.

LOLOLOL. “I parent trapped you” BLESS YOU FELICITY. Yes, boys, get over your damn egos already.

What is that tapping noise he keeps hearing? Is that the Vertigo? The heralding of a hallucination?

“My wife wants a separation” DONT MAKE ME SOB, OLIVER. Also she so doesn’t. It’s so sad that he believes this, he EXPECTED this.

I find it touching that he chooses Quentin to confide in here. His subconscious is kinda beautiful sometimes. 

So he thinks he hasn’t changed at all? Or he doesn’t. Cuz Quentin is pep talking him but its HIM thinking this up… SHE LOVES YOU. YES SHE DOES. LISTEN TO YOUR FUCKED UP BRAIN, MAN. 

Going to the council meeting hopped up on Vertigo seems a bad idea. So is this a hallucination? Or not? HELP. I HAVE CONFUSION.

So the suit is REAL? I have my questions again!! WHERE DID IT COME FROM.

I don’t like him going alone, but I DO like him saying that he’s not giving up on Felicity and William.

WELP there we go. Impeached. Saw that coming. Buncha boogers. Quentin is mayor! He’s toast.

Firing Overwatch. AWW. I mean I get why he’s doing it but… fighting Diaz alone is the opposite of what he needs to do. But I’m glad he’s apologizing to William.

AWW Felicity and William are most important to him! More than ANYTHING. I love this family.

Siren wants Diaz to kill Oliver… hows that redemption working for y’all? I can’t believe loliver is less toxic than Siren/Oliver. 😂

Okay, I have some more thoughts, especially now that I’ve had all night to think about this. So I’m throwing in a cut. 

While I’m not fond of Oliver choosing to go alone, I get why he’s doing it. It’s a plot point they’ve been angling towards, to be sure. But also I think they outlined why in this episode. Because what Dig said to him about being a poor leader has gotten to him and he really is wondering if it’s true. Things are piling up and what is falling by the wayside? What can he let fall by the wayside? One thing was made clear in this episode, what he cannot let fail is his family. Felicity, William... they are his priority above pretty much everything. He needs to save the city, absolutely, but not at the cost of his family. Oliver sees going alone as a way to save his family. Now, he’s wrong, of course. 

Remember all those interviews that have hinted at Oliver learning how to ask for help? How Emily herself has mentioned that? I think thats the big lesson here. He’s having a hard time juggling all his responsibilities, which means he has to learn how to relinquish control to others, to trust them to help him, to trust them to do what needs to be done to help him, to help the city. I’m willing to wager that in the weeks ahead, given what we’ve learned about the final eps of the season, the court case and all of that... that Felicity might be instrumental in organizing some help for Oliver. I think she might be the one to call in Human Target. But we shall see. 

But something else... Diaz wanted Oliver to fall for the trap but Felicity thwarted that. Felicity said that their identities are safe but LOL... There’s zero chance that Diaz won’t find out that she’s the one, the ONLY ONE who can pull Oliver back. So what happens to Felicity when Diaz realizes she the barrier between him and what he wants? 

What’s important here is that Oliver will do whatever he has to save his family, to keep William and Felicity safe. I think Felicity focuses on her company next week because she has to help, the mission is a part of her now, but I think eventually she’s going to push her way back onto Oliver’s team. Because he needs her. And maybe she’ll bring the rest of the team back together. But that’s all *~*later*~* because for now, things are gonna start getting sooooo very real in the weeks ahead and I’m really really really ready for it.

Who the heck is she :

 ☼ Connor Lugh, the last living member of the Lugh bloodline after Balor revived and massacred their numbers. She was saved by Leo Regulus, who was called in because of the clan’s ties to the sanctuary, and by Lugh himself, who appeared and helped defeat Balor once and for all. She is a descendent of Lugh (and Balor) and thus a sort of living God, making her the head priestess of their form of worship and giving her a host of powers that she is still trying to learn, since her father died before he could pass on all of his knowledge fully.  ☼

☼ Points of interest:

Surprisingly secretive- she smiles and is often more soft spoken than she really would be if she was more open with her feelings, especially when she’s sad.

Head Priestess of Lugh- her powers are tied to the land, so she’s significantly weaker outside of Ireland, but while she’s in her homeland she has a number of godly powers at her disposal.

Bodyguard- Failinis is her dedicated bodyguard and the only other member of the clan remaining, so she often comes up in threads.

Crush- She developed feelings for Regulus after he saved her.

Main verse - Currently nursing her own broken heart after Regulus turned down her confession when he asked her how she felt about him.

Who the heck is my muse anyway:

Princess of Light Mobius whose parents were killed by the former Dark Egg Legion, now the Dark Presence, led by Shadow the Hedgehog. Since his actions in the assassinations of the king and queen were unknown Shadow was able to convince Sally to marry him, making him king and Alexis’ uncle. After discovering Shadow’s treachery and tyrannical rule Alexis created a rebellion to fight Shadow and free her zone from is rain.

Points of interest:

Strange behaviour, quirks, noticeable features? Grabbing her locket when talking about her family, occasionally slipping into her “Princess” voice without meaning to, will burn the castle down if she sets foot in a kitchen.

What they’ve been up to recently:

Continuing the fight against Shadow and the Dark Presence. Working on trying to fix a glitched Nicole and get her to connect to the nanobots in the city again. Trying to find out what’s happening to her alternate brother, Rex, and why he’s avoiding her. Juggling being a rebel leader, princess, big sister and girlfriend.

Where to find them:

Most of the time out saving someone from the Dark Presence or in the underground rebel base (if you can get there.) Possibly the castle too though she’ll act much different there.

Current plans:

Eventually confront Shadow and reveal herself as the rebel leader to him before having an all out battle between the Dark Presence and the rebellion.

Desired interactions:

Alexis needs some emotional comfort and support, maybe some advice on siblings. She’d also love to teach someone how to fight.

Offered interactions:

Interactions with Shadows, Sallys and Elias’ are very encuraged as well as any other sonic characters.
