➣ Taeil ☾ taria

taeil is the Sole Protector of aria’s sanity

taeil loves his maknaes so much, but he literally looks at her like she put the stars in the sky

when aria first debuted, czennies thought that she was the same age as jungwoo - because she acted older than her age - but with taeil she lets her inner kid come out

highkey dependent on his approval for things in relation to singing

she will fight mark and donghyuck for his attention, and she will win

for a while, the two had shared a dorm room before they were rearranged, and taeil let her slip into his bed when she was feeling homesick

there is not a single czennie who ships these two romantically, and that’s because they’re just too wholesome

this man is absolutely, completely and irrevocably whipped for aria and she is not afraid to use that to her advantage

she beat him at arm wrestling because she pouted at him - she’s too powerful

aria.exe stopped responding when yuta started to playfully flirt with her the first few times

very snuggly together? but only in specific scenarios, like when jaehyun is too tired to move after a movie night, he’ll just kinda engulf aria in a hug and make her sleep on the couch with him

oh my god someone please stop these two

once jungwoo taught aria about the power that aegyo holds for persuasion tactics against the older members of 127, they were unstoppable

you should be afraid of them

100% have plotted someone’s murder before (and have succeeded, czennies always wondered where that last manager went after The Incident)

aggressively cute together - to the point where your teeth will rot

jungwoo will intentionally flirt with aria just to fluster her because its “so easy to do”

not very physically affectionate, but jungwoo has no hesitation calling out “uri fighting haeyadwae!” to her when she looks like she needs a little encouragement

jungwoo is the reason she wants to do a bachelors degree after finishing high school

he used to help her with her maths assignments after school when she was struggling with managing her time

they’re called the “aegyo duo” of the group, and there has yet to be an outright winner of the competitions to find the cutest member (its aria. jungwoo said it himself, its aria but we been knew)

they have an odd dynamic of looking like best friends the first second, evil masterminds the next and then siblings who want to murder each other but they make it work

will and has flopped down on her while she was laying on the practice floor and then whined when she tried to get up

aria wobbled in her heels slightly as she stepped out of the van, trying to hold a blanket up to protect her legs while she slid off the seat onto the ground. jungwoo extended an arm around her waist, gripping the blanket in his other hand and carefully holding her to make sure she didn’t trip on the cobbled stone.

honestly at the beginning, mark and aria weren’t very close, having only really seen each other in passing or with johnny

but after being dropped into training together the two quickly became fast friends, and now they’re borderline inseparable

absolute heathens to be around when they are together

donghyuck is the person aria is closest to, and someone she’d call her best friend (only when she was sure he wouldn’t hear her)

she calls him “the demon child i can’t get rid of” but will, and has definitely pouted when he ignored her for too long

generally aria is a pretty soft spoken person, but not with hyuck around - he brings out all her chaos energy (please pray for the patience of dotae)

the pair have a little tradition of kissing the back of each others’ hands before going on stage for good luck. they can’t even remember how it started, but now its an unnegotiable pre-show ritual

he’s so clingy with her absolutely everywhere its painfully adorable (ಥ﹏ಥ)

interviews? hyuck has a hand on her knee, or if she’s wearing a skirt he’s tucked his hand in between their chairs so she can hold it discreetly. in the dorms? full body tackle onto the couch, where he proceeds to lay on top of her completely.

because of hyuck’s nickname being the sun, and aria always being around him, czennies gave her the nickname “moon” to go with him

fans thought that aria was older than hyuck for a good year and a half before she released her birthday on a vlive, because she’s normally the one tasked with reigning his chaotic energy in during promotions (that is, if she hasn’t already joined him)

but off-camera, aria is absolutely hyuck’s baby there is no disputing that. aria’s sad?he’s there with ice-cream and a blanket and a baseball bat.

the winnie the pooh character that is on aria’s bed was a gift from hyuck for her 17th birthday, after she made him watch seven episodes of the show on netflix with her one night

yes he complained, but he slapped her hand away when she went to change it to something else

a twitter thread of a czennie comparing their horoscopes together went viral when people realized that it was quite plausible that the pair were each others (platonic) soulmates

after an incident involving blueberries, donghyuck took it upon himself to check the ingredients of every. single. food item in their dorm to make sure it was ok for her to eat

hyuck clowns her for her irish accent, and aria curses him out in japanese

Remus often escaped his house by spending night after night at Janus’. His parents weren’t exactly thrilled- They didn’t like the way Remus presented himself, the way he talked, his psychosis scared them, they suspected he was gay, among other things -but Remus was so kind to them and insisted on helping around the house that they couldn’t find it in their hearts to kick him out.

Janus and Remus had to hide their relationship, because Janus’ parents were severely homophobic, and it actually scared Janus to have Remus over so often because he knows Remus doesn’t have a filter, and it would be very, very bad if Remus were to spill about either their relationship or Janus’ sexuality.

One night, they had Janus’ door locked, and the two of them were cuddling in Janus’ bed (they never fell asleep cuddled together, as Remus had a blow-up mattress he was supposed to sleep in, but they cuddled every night before going to bed) and Remus mentioned that when Janus left for the bathroom, his parents cornered Remus about their sexualities and their relationship.

Janus stiffened. He was certain that this was a warning, that they had to get out of there as soon as possible. “What did you say?”

“I told them that you’re my best friend and sucking your dick would be disgusting.”

Janus laughed weakly as Remus puctuated his words by grabbing him. Janus pushed his hand away and pulled him closer.

“Thank you. That’s... That’s good. But...” The colour was quickly draining from his face. His mind flashed with every lie he could come up with to derail their attention. “But they suspect, they’re going to-“

“They don’t suspect shit.”

Janus paused. “What? How?”

“I told them about all the hetero sex you’re having.”

Janus dissolved into weak snickers, burying his face in Remus’ hair. “You didn’t.”

“I did. It was all I could think of. I’m not as good of a liar as you are.”

“Well, I can’t say that I’m looking forward to that conversation... But it’s miles better than the alternative. Thank you, darling.”

Remus reached up and kissed him, aiming for the mouth but largely missing. Janus grinned and cupped his face, pressing their foreheads together.

“Remus.” Janus’ voice was such a quiet whisper than Remus almost didn’t hear. “I love you. I hope you know that.”

Remus hesitated. He tried to keep his voice as quiet as Janus’, but it wavered. “Like... Like- Like you’re in love with me?”

Janus laughed and brushed his hair back. “Yes. Like I’m in love with you.”

“I’m in love with you, too!” Remus whisper-screamed, and launched forward to kiss him again.

Janus laughed and wrapped his arms around Remus’ back, kissing him softly.

Janus and Remus telling Logan they loved them came much, much later, long after they met him.

Logan had snuck over to their apartment again when they couldn’t sleep (the two gave them a spare key long ago) and walked in on them making out with music playing.

Logan clicked off the music and gave them a look. “The entire building can hear this, you know.”

“Good!” Remus shouted while Janus asked, “Did it keep you up?”

“No.” Logan sat at the edge of the bed, body turned towards them. “That was something else.”

Janus took note of Logan’s body language, the way they opened themselves up to the two of them, their choice in clothes- Their boxers and a tank top -and, above all, the way they looked at the two of them.

Janus grinned. It was one of those types of nights. Because Logan would never in a million years ask for it, never admit they needed it, Janus scooted over so there was a space between him and Remus, and opened his arms.

Logan blushed, and stumbled over a refusal the way they always did the first time, a formality Janus and Remus hated. They waited patiently for them to decide some human contact wouldn’t actually kill them or make any less of them, and they crawled into the open space.

Remus latched onto Logan like a parasite, tangling their legs together and winding his arms around Logan’s waist, under their tanktop. Janus draped an arm around their shoulders and rubbed their exposed tummy. Logan flushed bright red and adjusted to the contact as Remus found a documentary they would all enjoy.

They didn’t pay too much attention to it. Remus buried his face in Logan’s neck, and Janus’ fingers had found their hair, rubbing and scratching slowly on their scalp, rendering them mostly limp.

About twenty minutes in, Remus had sighed, warm breath fanning across Logan’s neck and making them shiver. “I love you,” he said. “You’re my second first favourite person.”

Janus held back a sigh as Logan’s eyes snapped open, their body tense. “Remus, we talked about this. We were waiting for them to come to us.” No use hiding it now.

“But they’re never going to, and if I don’t tell them now, I’ll explode!”

Janus pulled his hands away to give Logan some of their mind back, and shooed at Remus to pull off, as well.

“I’m sorry, what?” Logan managed.

Janus sighed again and tipped Logan’s head to meet his eyes. “You’re the dumbest, most dense human I’ve ever met. Are you really surprised?”

“That Remus, uh...”

“That we both love you.” Logan leaned into Janus’ touch, so he ran his thumb across their cheekbone. “That we’ve loved you for a while, and we were waiting for you to realize that having feelings for another person doesn’t make you weak.”

They fell silent, letting Logan process. Finally, they said, “You both love me?” They both nodded, Remus giggling. “So you... You want...”

Janus forced Logan to meet his eyes. “We want you to be our partner. Or, if it would make you more comfortable, we could call you our boyfriend in front of the others.”

“This can’t surprise you,” Remus insisted, and found Logan’s hand. He laced their fingers, and Logan squeezed his hand. “I mean... I don’t know about Jan-Jan, but I’m not subtle.”

“You don’t have to say you love us back,” Janus said softly. “We’re not expecting that of you. But think, have we ever made fun of you? Ever took advantage of your vulnerability?” Logan was quickly relaxing. They shook their head. “Do you want to be with us?”

Logan slowly nodded. “Um... Yes. I would- I would enjoy- enjoy that.”

Remus squealed and nuzzled into their neck, startling a weak laugh out of Logan.

“I love you,” Janus said softly. “You don’t have to say it back if you can’t.”

“Can we kiss you?” Remus asked impatiently, shaking their hand.

Logan laughed a little and leaned back against the bedframe, nodding shakily. Remus kissed them hard on the mouth, tangling his hands in their hair and pulling them close. Janus watched with an eye roll as Remus practically devoured them, pulling away to leave Logan with flushed skin and glassy eyes.

They flicked an expectant gaze to Janus. Janus didn’t move. “Are you sure? It’s okay if this isn’t what you want-“

“I want this.” Logan pursed their lips and looked away. “I- I do... Want this. Don’t get that confused with my... Problems.”

Janus stroked down the side of their face and brought them close. He kissed the tip of their nose, and then their mouth, lightly, pulling away only for Logan to chase after him.

The three of them traded kisses for a while, until Logan was completely relaxed and receptive, and they resumed their favourite cuddle position.

It was a few months before Logan was comfortable enough to say it back. They spent twelve hours at the library working on their freelance work, to the point where Remus and Janus dragged them out of there and made them eat and shower. Logan didn’t bother going back to their own apartment, just fell into bed with them, already half asleep.

“Goodnight, Lo-Lo,” Remus whispered, kissing the back of their neck and spooning them.

Janus brushed their hair back and kissed their forehead. “Tomorrow, you’re taking the day off. We can go to the planetarium you like.”

“I have deadlines,” Logan murmured.

“Your body has deadlines on when it needs to eat, but you sure had no problems ignoring that today.”

Logan was too tired to blush, but Janus recognized the embarrassed wrinkle of their nose.

“Get some sleep,” Janus whispered. “We love you.”

“I love you, too.”

It was half mumbled, and the two of them almost missed it. Remus squealed quietly and laughter bubbled from Janus’ lips. They held Logan tightly between them, giving them soft kisses before settling in to sleep.

JUNO

First impression: i, like a lot of people who get into the podcast without knowing a great deal about it, was expecting at most an ambiguously bisexual angst machine with a closely-guarded heart of gold. juno being an explicitly bisexual genderqueer angst machine is perhaps the most pleasant surprise of my life. the angst machine heart of gold characters were kind of my type at the time, so i loved him right away

Impression now: every time i think about juno’s arc from depressed mess held together by bad coping mechanisms, safety pins, and a few good strong puns into someone who can talk about his feelings, feel comfortable about being happy, and recognise when he needs to change, i want to cry about it a little bit. the depth of my love for juno steel has only grown along with him

Favourite moment: juno has a lot of great one-liners and i’m still a big fan of the “on the other hand i wasn’t wearing a watch” bit and who can forget such classics as juno finally deciding to stop moping over nureyev and move on only for him to open the door to his apartment and find nureyev sitting in the dark dramatically, but honestly nothing will ever hit me harder than his sudden, pissed-off declaration of “i can’t die yet, i still have shit to do!” in promised land. god.

Idea for a story: oh i have so many and i want to write most of them so no spoilers, but juno accidentally kidnaps a baby during a carte blanche heist and shenanigans ensue

Unpopular opinion: obviously we all know he’s dummy thicc but i feel like a lot of people forget he’s an actual genius, like the stuff he notices and how he strings it together is sometimes so obscure and he’s almost always right. oh, also juno is not skinny and i will not be taking criticism on that

Favourite relationship: this is so tough because every dynamic is so good, but i think it has to be juno and rita. those two are so good! the best best friends in the world!! i’m really a sucker for any dynamic that’s ridiculously in-sync so i loved these two as soon as juno saw rita’s notes in prince of mars and went “makes perfect sense to me” (which it probably didn’t, because rita, but he trusted that she knew what she was doing which is the important part)

Favourite headcanon: this isn��t really a headcanon but i still think about how juno is (was?) deathly afraid of heights but when he heard rex glass coming he still attempted to climb out of the window. either his aversion to working with dark matters/other people in general was so strong is overrided his fear, or his office was actually on the ground floor. not sure which of these is funnier.

NUREYEV

First impression: we’ve all seen the memes about nureyev knowing juno steel for one (1) day and deciding to Risk It All by leaving him with his name, look at this Hopeless Romantic, this utter DISASTER of a homosexual. the fact the very next time we hear from nureyev (at least directly) he’s patiently waiting in juno’s dark apartment to surprise him with a heist definitely supports this image.

Impression now: even after literally being inside peter’s head, i feel like we didn’t get a real sense of who he is until man in glass, where we find out he aggressively compartmentalises everything that causes him stress. he’s also distinctly someone who’s had his heart broken before, i think, which makes those first appearances of his very strange. but it does remind me of what juno says about diamond, and how he decided to provide the trust first and wait for the trustworthiness to grow in (only to get severely hurt), and i think that’s exactly what nureyev did. i am also... very uneasy with how suspicious he’s behaving this season because obviously i want to believe he’ll sort it all out and not betray the crew but... oof

Favourite moment: the beginning of what lies beyond pt1 where he’s affectionately bullying juno into taking care of himself? cleared my crops watered my skin etc etc etc

Idea for a story: i’d love to hear more about his past as a young thief idolising buddy and vespa (i can’t actually remember if that’s canon or fanon but anyway i wanna read it!)

Unpopular opinion: i think people often cling to an image of him that more resembles his first impressions in season 1 instead of seeing the depth that we’ve been given about his character in season 3

Favourite relationship: him and juno but honestly it’s a close call between them and his budding friendship with rita. even though she learned it by accident, his name is still a point of intimacy and it’s one less secret to keep around her which has to be a weight off his shoulders, at least a little? they seem like they could be really good friends once ultrabots is out of the way. juno steel love (and also bullying) zone activates whenever they’re together

Favourite headcanon: i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again - nureyev has never done a household chore in his goddamn life. he doesn’t know the water needs to be hot when you wash dishes.

RITA

First impression: honestly i’m not sure? i don’t remember having a big awareness of her in murderous mask but i remember loving her “note-taking” in prince of mars, i thought she sounded really fun and cute

Impression now: rita is really fun and cute, she’s also an extremely hardworking and dedicated woman who had the guts to throw in with a detective fired from the force and then invest all of her time and money into helping him help people.

Favourite moment: Rita Gets A Knife. enough said

Idea for a story: i don’t know honestly! i really struggle to write rita because her thought processes are so wild and i don’t think any story i could come up with would match mega ultrabots of cyberjustice.

Unpopular opinion: this shouldn’t be unpopular because juno steel himself shares this opinion but all future-jupeter headcanons are incomplete without rita also being a huge part of their lives

Favourite relationship: rita + franny 4ever obviously.. jk it’s juno & rita have you heard rita minute 3 they’re too adorable for this world. im still Soft over their conversation at the end of soul of the people when he said he couldn’t stay in hyperion anymore but he wouldn’t leave with the carte blanche if rita wasn’t coming because he was done leaving her behind, and she threw out all her hesitations on the spot and said call the big guy. speaking of, rita & jet are a close second. instant best friends i love them.

Favourite headcanon: i think this is basically canon now but rita being literally half the height of jet is so good

JET

First impression: “haha lorge funny man puts juno in the trash”

Impression now: jet sikuliaq is one of the dearest characters to me out of anything ever. he is a huge, menacing, polite, kind, sincere man who i would very much like to give me a hug. he’s the best aro ace in outer space and while being generally very levelheaded and straightforward, also takes every opportunity to fuck with juno because it’s very easy and very hilarious to him personally. he is everything my autistic acearo ass needed and i’m so glad to have him

Favourite moment: all of them every single one. him putting juno in the trash is of course a classic and every moment jet chooses to be funny makes my heart happy, but also every piece of genuine advice he gives. i’m a particular fan though of buddy recounting her years in the lighthouse and him saying he became concerned when she didn’t come downstairs at the usual time. “you took the door off its hinges.” “i was deeply concerned.” king of understatement

Idea for a story: again no spoilers for you but..... tools of rust time loop au

Unpopular opinion: this isn’t “unpopular” as much as it is unknown but jet is buddy’s queerplatonic partner and i will keep saying it until everyone believes it

Favourite relationship: jet and buddy,,, just everything about them. the way he suspects when she’s lying, the way she makes tea for him when she expects him to drop by. the fact he comes to check on her when she is 41 seconds late to the family meeting because it’s unlike her to be late and the last time she was late for something her brain was turning to radiation soup. but most especially the way she snaps at him to stay out of her business and he said he could not because he made her promise eight years ago to never stay out of the business of her health, no matter how many times she asked. they r literally in a qpr

Favourite headcanon: i don’t think this is true but i still think it would be funny if the ruby-7 used to be painted red but when jet got it he had it painted green because he Just Really Likes Green (as evidenced by his hovercycle). it’s very funny to me.

BUDDY

First impression: it’s been a minute since i relistened to time gone by but i’m pretty sure the first thing she ever says in the podcast is sliding up to depressed accidental whiskey thief juno and say “that’ll be ten million creds,” scaring the shit out of him, so needless to say i was in love instantly.

Impression now: my love for buddy aurinko has only grown and if it sounds like i already said that in this post it’s because i did about juno and it’s appropriate because the parallels are astounding. the heart of it all gave us such depth to buddy’s internal monologue and why she always sounds like she knows exactly what to say and what that’s like and honestly will i ever be over the heart of it all as an episode? unlikely. i think i’m gonna have a little piece of it in MY heart forever.

Favourite moment: everything she’s ever said is iconic as hell i especially like “in an impressive fit of hubris i’ve decided not to prepare my words for this vow” which made me laugh out loud but once again i must give it up for her iconic “I WANT TO LIVE” moment. honourable mentions to her taking rita out for ice cream and giving juno shooting lessons while she’s in her actual wedding gown. i love her

Idea for a story: buddy and vespa as sun/moon dieties.... that’s all

Unpopular opinion: stop drawing her with a fancy high-tech eye like the theia!! it canonically looks like garbage and it’s described in detail, please, i’m dying, also don’t minimise her scars you bastards

Favourite relationship: buddy and vespa invented romantic love and the entire carte blanche crew’s relationship to her is great but you know by now i’m a slut for buddy & jet out-of-this-world queerplatonic partners. the way she checks in on him during tools of rust to make sure he’s not relapsing and he comes to find her when she is 41 seconds late in the heart of it all to make sure she’s not having a heart problem!! it’s the trust,, the devotion,, the mortifying ordeal of being known

Favourite headcanon: she can sing. absolutely tears it up at karaoke. i’m right

VESPA

First impression: knife lesbian goes STAB. she will heal your wounds but she will be threatening to give you more the whole time

Impression now: she is extremely strong, heart-rendingly tender, and despite being in the older half of the carte blanche crew somehow has unmistakable little sister energy which makes her downright hilarious. i’m so glad she got to marry buddy and they’re official space wives now they’re so good for each other

Favourite moment: both from shadows in the ship, either “GUN!!” “KNIFE?!” (iconic) or when she clocks the dark matters drone pretending to be juno because it called her crazy and juno wouldn’t call her crazy. i’m always a sucker for “shapeshifter fails to fool mark because they Know Each Other Too Well” and it was just *chefs kiss* so good

Idea for a story: i really want to write something about when she was first staying at the lighthouse with buddy post-reunion, and getting to know jet and stuff. i think it would be cute

Unpopular opinion: i know vespa doesn’t canonically have lots of scarring but people who don’t draw her with scarring? cowards.

Favourite relationship: once again, although buddy and vespa invented romantic love, i just love the dynamic between vespa and juno so much. they’ve come so far with each other and their weird sibling dynamic gives me life. at the end of what lies beyond when juno says “we’re not gonna kill her, vespa” and instead of sounding full of Rage and Suspicion she’s like “whyyy notttt?” and he’s like “because i said so!” and that’s just good enough for her even if she’s a bit grumpy about it. i love it.

THINGS YOU PROBABLY DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT MY CHARACTERS THAT ARE ABSOLUTELY CANON. IT’S JUST HOW THEY FEEL, GO AWAY.

BASICALLY, this is a masterlist of things i want people to know about them but they’d never necessarily say or show outloud bc most of them as stubborn as fuck.

DALLAS

he doesn’t regret or hate any of his exes at all. he is completely indifferent towards liana and gisele, still loves soraya and has a kind of up-down mood towards riley and zara. ruby’s a friend.

he believes he’ll end up with soraya...like one thousand percent. she’s the only person he’s loved.

charlie, matt and evan are the only people he’d give the label of ‘true friends’ and it definitely isn’t what he would’ve expected a few years ago.

his weakness is people feeling proud of him. like that’s something he craves constantly and when it happens, or you show it genuinely, you’re most likely to get through to him.

his natural coping mechanism is to act out; some people shut down/drink/take drugs. the more extreme dallas’s behaviour is and the harsher he’s behaving, the more you know he’s hurting/in a bad place.

definitely the victim of a serious god complex. he believes with his whole heart that some of his worst work is still better than a lot of peoples best (so do i cause im a bieber fan LOL)

he’s intelligent - scarily so...he got into several top colleges after high school including yale (where he attended for half of a semester/term), oxford and UCL.

before his dad’s debt engulfed his family, he had a really good relationship with him and played multiple sports including hockey and golf.

he can’t picture himself living past 30...or 27 some days.

biggest character flaw EASILY is not knowing how to ask for or accept help. it’s been the root of ALL of his bad decisions and shitty actions.

this literally isn’t a secret but he doesn’t give up. if you push him, he’ll push back harder and would sooner escalate a situation than be the one to walk away.

he does everything in his power to not have to sleep in his family home.

a cute hidden quality - he’s shockingly very good with children

a shit hidden quality - a lot of his choice of girlfriend’s have to do whether he finds them physically attractive or not. if it’s an ‘or not’, chances are he won’t even consider it.

his personality type is estp - bold, practical, original, direct, insensitive, risk-prone, unstructured, defiant

he is HIGHLY impulsive and quick to act on feelings. back to his exes, this has often made him feel like he loves people that he definitely doesn’t.

he’s actually HUGELY affectionate and that’s the tell tale sign of who he likes and who he doesn’t. if you’ve known him and he’s never acted soft/affectionate, he didn’t care in the first place.

he’s one million percent had his heartbroken. he’ll tell you he hasn’t all day.

conflicting with his god complex is crushingly low self-esteem when it comes to things like being worth of peoples time/energy/genuine interest beyond just being funny/hooking up with.

silent reassurance is a thing for him. he’ll check that someone he’s comfortable with/loves is there every so often as social events and eye contact/acknowledgement definitely helps

MASON

confrontation and disputes gives him huge anxiety but the carmichael house is the definition of toxic masculinity, so he swallows it and tries to be as rational as possible in arguments.

comparison is a very real thing for him. he compares every element and detail of his life to others; especially the other boys.

he considers madison his first love

his love language is definitely acts of service, if he’s willing to help and work towards something w.you, then he cares.

he is definitely a burnt out over-achiever. he struggles with the concept of ‘reaching his full potential’ and no matter what he does, he doesn’t feel like he’s ever there

between leo and brody, he feels like he was never a child or even young. he’s always had a really wise head on his shoulders and is rarely impulsive. it’s the thing he hates most about himself...yet the thing a lot of people find appealing

if you mention a critically acclaimed movie as your favourite, it gives him a bad first impression of you LOL

he struggles to show emotion more than the others, who tend to act out and make rash decisions. i doubt anybody’s seen him cry ever.

he didn’t peak in high school but he 100% misses who he was back then

nostalgia is something that consumes him sometimes - if he’s shared a deep connection or memories with you, he won’t forget about you

he’s literally never been on the wrong side of the law but police sirens make him anxious

he never wants to be turn out like his dad, but also wants everything his dad created and had and it’s his biggest dilemma

dogs are and have always been his favourite animal

organisation is a big thing to him. people probably assume kendall is the one who keeps things in check in their apartment, but it’s totally him. cabinets, wardrobes, shelves and everything...he can’t leave it alone if it’s disorganised

he struggles being spoken down to or feeling like he’s being patronised. it’s the quickest way to piss him off

he over-thinks everything, even if it doesn’t feel like it

his worst habit is nail biting. he even had the stuff you put on your fingers as a kid and it didn’t squash it

he’s vegetarian

if he wasn’t a carmichael, he definitely would’ve gone backpacking and worked from place to place after school but his dad definitely wouldn’t have approved

feeling useful to people is something that makes him feel self-worth

it’s very rare for him to quit ANYTHING. if he’s committed, he’ll be in it until it comes to a natural end or just forever

NATE

an actual clean freak. he hates mess.

he doesn’t know if imogen is/was his first love but he definitely considers her his soulmate

when he falls for someone, he falls HARD and will definitely give up some of his own values or change to impress somebody

he has a lot of opinions and ideas but finds it hard to articulate them, he’s always found it easier to fall into the ‘hot guy’ trope and it’s got him far enough so he can’t complain

he’s lowkey into zodiac signs and astrology but wouldn’t ever outwardly show it

he’s VERY domestic; cooking, cleaning handy-work etc. are all strong points of his. it’s rare you’ll find any space he’s living in a mess

he’s a romantic but quietly. the amount of time he spends thinking about dating/his love life/his future wife/kids scares him sometimes

if he shouts, he’s not even that mad. when he gives up and just let’s someone go off/or he walks off, that’s usually when he’s hit rock bottom with someone

big hero 6 is his favourite movie but he says black panther because it’s more acceptable to most LOL

he suffers with health anxiety; not working out properly, or eating too much junk food will send him on a weird spiral where he’s hard on himself for months

he always smells good. always.

he doesn’t like people who act dumb for attention, it’s probably his pet peeve

his harry potter house is slytherin, i took the test for him.

he loves all of his sisters but is definitely the closest to evie, it may have something to do with them being the youngest of the 5.

the thought of having to play any board game upsets him a lot

if he sleeps over at anybody’s house, he has to bring his own pillow. most people who know him have just accepted it

even now he’s older, his parents are very much his parents - he hasn’t got that friendly vibe some people get with their parents once they pass 20.

he’s a pretty good chameleon. he can shift and change depending on the crowd he’s with without being too obvious

So, a little while ago Zarkon’s blog hit 200 followers...unfortunately I was sick as all hell and I couldn’t do much besides sleep and be miserable. So we’re a little late on the milestone, but hey! Any excuse to share some love.

@ograndsovereign - Devil, I’m gonna eat your delicious brain. You have NO IDEA how hyped I was when we started talking about Zarkon. I was practically vibrating in my chewed-up computer chair just... SUPER hype to talk about Zarkon with someone else who adores him. I love the differences and similarities between our Zarkons - and I still have that babby Zarkon starter in my drafts! - and our headcanons. We’ve talked about silly things and salted enough to season like a thousand pounds of steak. I love the way you write, and I love hearing your thoughts on the Galra. You’re also a very patient and understanding person, at least in my experience. I’m glad we met. Next on the docket for myself; downloading Warframe.

You two were some of the first to engage and plot with me on this blog, and I’m super happy you did. You’re both sweethearts, and I love the way you portray Keith and Shiro - and though it’s slowed down over the holiday season, I’m grateful you offered to help with the event I had planned. It’s still gonna happen if you’re still up to it, but there’s no rush on anyone. Ya’ll are also angst connoisseurs after my own heart. Hunk is the one I’ve interacted with most, and he’s such a cinnamon roll - but you know to let him have faults, and how to balance out his character. I love the way you write him, and I love his interactions with Zarkon - both crack and serious rp. The crack gives me life though, ngl.

@two-paladins - Ah yes, the culprit behind me developing a love for Zarkon/Trigel, both platonic and romantic. Dude, I was so hyped to see an active Trigel, and I LOVE plotting with you. And then you added Blaytz to your muse roster, because you were fucking sent from the heavens to bless us with that good OG Paladin content. Our first thread (which I have in my drafts, sorry for all the wait) was instrumental in developing the depth of Zarkon’s devotion to his Paladins. I just... I’m super glad we got to meet, man.

@voidborneleones / @devourer-heir - And here we have the other person who has most affected Zarkon’s development. Your take on the Lions is so deliciously creepy - I love how similar Black and Zarkon are in their obsession with and devotion to each other. We’ve made so many cool AUs, everything from Black returning to Zarkon’s side to the Voidtouched AU where she takes him as a child. I just love all the creepy, unsettling places we can go with them. And when we talk about them... gosh, it just sends chills up my spine.

@lionessofthestars - I was hella surprised when you followed me. Looking through your blog like, how did this quality writer find me?? You haven’t been as active recently, and I hope you’re doing okay. I loved talking and plotting with you, and I love how sassy your Blion is. It makes me smile to think of Blion climbing up onto Zarkon for mandatory cuddle times - and man, the pain she must feel seeing what he is now. There’s so much to explore with these two.

@viridisborne / @solumperditus - I mean, do I even have to say anything? You’re my best friend, and I wouldn’t be where I am today if you hadn’t reached out to check on me - at the time a total stranger - several years ago. We’ve been through a lot since, and you’ve helped me become a better person. I’ve never felt more at home and safe than I did those weeks I spent at your place.

@freedomsought - King! I see you haven’t been too active of late, so gonna assume hiatus. Hope you’re doing okay! I love how you write Hunk’s internal struggle. He is corrupted, but pieces of him remain deep down.

Got back from LA. Was surreal. Nothing really crazy happened, it was more seeing how a different type of people lived. As far as the music went, that was really cool.

I never really explained it properly. The label I’m with are planning to get ‘influencers’ to get on board with the company in terms of getting their name on the social media world. If an online personality tells their many followers to download their app...well it makes sense really. I got a phone call the other day saying they wanted to fly me down to LA in for a night in a mansion streamed live on their app. This night would be hosted by an influencer called Kristen Hancher who has 5.5 million followers. I think she got big on a music app called Musical.ly which is now called Tik Tok. I’m beginning to feel old. Basically you mime along to your favourite songs whilst videoing yourself with quirky visuals. She has a massive audience now and a little mention of the company, as I said, can be huge. If I recalled corechley, Beiber tweeted that song ‘Call Me Maybe’ and kickstarted her career.

Anyway this gig is in a mansion, and when I say mansion I mean it: Hollywood Hills, swimming pool, massive open plan rooms, you name it. They organise the people, they have the location, they’ve got the advertising...the music? It’s really funny, at every level I’ve played, the organisation and knowledge of the musical equipment/set up does not correlate to how big the event is; meaning even if the gig is in the living room or if it’s at a 500 people great music venue, it does not guarantee that there will be a better set up at the music venue. At this gaff there was no mixer or mic stand, and the mics were battered and there was very few people who knew what to do. Of course once it was discussed, the people there had the money to go out and get the mixer and everything else but I find it amazing, music is sometimes the afterthought. In a way though, it’s a business, and that’s what I’m beginning to see. The thought and care was put into the connections, the venue, the people, the social media. These factors are just as important as the music and maybe be even more important. So we set up in this crazy place and the gig is going to be pretty much a big house party, hosted by Kristen.

9pm comes and I do my set. It went ok, I was a bit nervous in places, I don’t think the people who were there knew exactly what was going on too much but it went ok. After that I’m in room full of influencers and their friends. Amongst these influencers were models and also a dog. Yes a dog, and this big husky has 1 million followers. Dyed pink ears, and a dyed pink tuft right bang on his head. There was a start up t shirt printing business who were doing t shirts right then and there and the guy who owned the dog had a t shirt made with ‘IM RICH, YOU’RE BROKE’ on the back. As the party moved on to bedroom, and I don’t mean that in a sexual way, the bedroom was as big as a luxury flat with open plan bathroom with open fireplace. 100 people in there easssssy. I got talking to the owner of the place. He told me he preheated his bath (water tap coming from the ceiling) for his foursome that night. I said what? as in say that again. He goes shhhhhh my girlfriends right behind me > meaning she wasn’t going to be involved. He showed me a stash of chewing viagra gum (?) and a liquid siphilia??? (no idea what the word is) which gives you a hard on for a very long time. On the huge balcony I was talking to a few people who were all smoking legal mary jane, think it was legalised back in late 2015 in California. And you could tell even by the smell how much nicer it is. I’m not a smoker myself but you could also tell how shit UK weed is even by the smell, mixed with whatever knows what.

Some of these convos were half a minute insta name swaps, they didn’t really feel like real convos. It felt like a status party, and to be fair, these were people’s livings, it was turn up at a party, build ya rep, be seen. I have to say everyone was very positive. That’s a very American trait that I admire, it’s all self belief, you can do it, believe in yourself. Over here there is that respect of people trying their best, but only when you’ve done it. During the journey, it’s not perceived as cool. Once you’ve got there, the destination and journey in hindsight is seen as cool. There’s a lot of cynicism here, a stay in your lane kind of outlook, we Brits are veeeery sarcastic. There’s a lot of positives in that; the ability to form great relationships through taking the piss which is necessary to every friendship, humour, modesty. But it does create boundaries for people attempting to go outside themselves. In America, I think it’s different. There’s an appreciation for someone’s dream no matter how hyperbolic, unrealistic, crazy, foreign, strange etc. I do like that. And you could say that there lacks an honesty that people need to hear sometimes which can big up your ego a bit too much, but it also gives you a chance to develop the absurd which can lead to great things. I saw this video once where someone said genius is a misunderstood idea. It isn’t a gift that a tiny percentage have, it is in fact a gift that most people have but which gets hindered by heard mentality, self doubt and a societal reaction which suppresses your intrigue and capacity to learn and experiment. This results in doing nothing, conforming to doing what how the majority live, not exploring your potential. Practice instead of natural ability.

I was wrestling it in my head a bit. Music wise all this status stuff, the schmoozing, would benefit my music. It really doesn’t come natural to me. I can play, do the gig, I can come off stage, talk about the reasons why I do it to people, but to promote myself, get people to listen/follow me, it doesn’t come natural to me. I am learning to do it a bit more, in the right moments but it’s something I have to fight with myself in order to do. Music aside, my career aside, I think if you delve in that way of doing things, way of living almost, you do lose a bit of your humanity. I really don’t mean this in a condescending way but it really seems to me by judging, evaluating or even living all of your life in the hands of strangers’ admiration seems to quite dissociative, if that’s the right word. I mean maybe people would say it’s narcissistic but to be honest I think it’s actually a lack of self knowledge which is the issue. I mean if these influencers’ followers just packed up and unfollowed them, I would like to think these people would have enough passions, desires, self sureness to sustain their worthiness in life. Don’t get me wrong, if all my friends decided never to see me again, I would be extremely sad, but I could draw on the things that I like and know about myself and continue to live my life; I have built up a healthy relationship with myself in the last few years without the need to of others to verify what I do. I have to say that’s the thing that is good about being single: you deal with your own shit. Any problems cannot be put on someone else, you have to sort out your own shit. I guess the downfall of being single is no one is there to call out your shit if you’re being a dick or fucking up in one area. I’m lucky i have friends who can call me out though. it’s about looking at the family and friends’ reactions to what you’re doing and taking literally a poll of what they say. To be fair, I don’t know if most of them at some point would have judged a music career to have been a good decision. I guess it must be a continuous balancing act between choosing your own vision, desires and stubbornness and deciding when to learn from other people’s opinions. Trying to make it as objective as possible.

At the same time, do I wanna be that guy by not doing something which may benefit my music? Something that I might naturally reject, like I said before, for 1 minute of shame? It’s a balancing act. Too much of that world can drive me crazy, lose touch with my human side. Too less of it, attempting a music career, may affect me down the line. I think it’s a balancing act, and one which I’m trying to work on figure out at each step.
