Scully had been chasing this thing, whatever it was, for the past five minutes and while she didn't believe Mulder's particularly outlandish theories on what it might be, she had to agree that it had the speed and stamina of something more wild animal than human. She could feel herself running out of energy, slowing down, but then it suddenly didn't seem to matter. They'd disappeared, even though she'd only been a few metres behind them.

Coming to a stop, she immediately felt watched, and so automatically drew her gun, trying to keep her eyes on everything around her, an impossible 360.

Suddenly, she was knocked to the ground as it attacked her from behind. Letting out a gasp of shock, she sat up as quickly as possible, intending to shoot whatever the thing was, but someone else got there first, immobilising it in moments. If she had to hazard a guess, based on the efficiency, she'd say the person had dealt with this sort of creature before. Which made the saviour as interesting as the attacker.

Catching her breath, Scully took a moment before getting to her feet.

"I suppose I should thank you," she began, still not putting her gun away. The thing looked down, but for how long?

i guess i am contemplating facing lots of my irrational silly fears atm so i have another advice question please friends!!! I have never been to a car wash! I am So Scared of it! What happens there please and how does the customer behave in the most polite way possible! I am curious mostly about the places that you go and a person/team of people washes your car for you. The thought of it makes me soooo anxious you would not believe it. What do you do as the driver? (like, do you stay in the car? get out? loiter awkwardly??) Is there anything rude you should avoid doing? Any thing you would tell an alien coming to planet earth for the first time and doing this please? Less scary but also scary is the machine car wash. I guess that's less scary because it's machines so there's no chance of being rude, just doing something wrong and embarrassing but i have experience with that and i lived so :P But still.
