My Happy Place <3

BIG PROJECT IS FINALLY DONE !! I’ve been working on this for the last two weeks straight and it was definitely a grind but I’m so happy with how this came out!!

This is my birthday gift for @macaronichewtoyz and it’s all about what we did this past summer <33 Plus some bonus appearances from my sister (@/creative_lass on Instagram), who's OC is Neon the white cat and @catfable, who's OC is Iris the yellow dragon :3

Clem and I were able to finally meet in person after being friends online for over five years, and it was an absolutely amazing experience. Clem stayed with me for a little over a week, and we did all kinds of things! It included things ranging from big experiences like going to Knoebels, the Natural History Museum in New York, and spending the day with Rain in Bethlehem, to smaller moments like having breakfast together, swimming at a local lake, playing Wii games or watching some of our favorite medias.

All set to the amazing song Happy Place by In Paradise, this is a highlight reel of one of the best weeks of my life. Happy birthday Clem, I love you so much <33

I feel like if one wants — and is trying to give themself — a mental disorder by using the label of “transid,” then they are probably already disordered in some other way that they are in denial of; because it‘s more stigmatized, or “less interesting” than the neurotype they’ve chosen to mimic… which is sad because they’re masking in two different directions at that point: one to hide their illness, the other to create an illness… which will lead to more illness. Bleak, to be honest.

#I kind of used to be like that as a kid. I claimed to have “multiple personalities” when I didn’t…#my brain just attaches characters to thoughts as a form of organization; and at that time the different concepts were “warring”#(AKA: I was trying to make logical sense of information when I had zero critical thinking skills because I was raised in a cult)#And I knew I didn’t really have different personalities deep down; but my sense of self was so fractured #that I wanted the different pieces to be different people so I could make the need to think about my issues go away #I simply wanted one “personality” to kill the others so I would imagine long bloody battles between my “selves” in my head #to exorcise my mind of impure thoughts (which never worked because they weren’t real people #and I couldn’t kill them because the people I created symbolized concepts and desires on which my brain perseverated every waking moment)#I was trying to kill off parts of myself to attain everlasting life on a paradise earth; so I could build a real Data and android children #in Paradise #so if I died in Armageddon from bad behavior (watching Markiplier and having fun times in the shower) I’d be killing them too #And the only other kid I saw who claimed to want a disorder (“wanted” to have OCD) wanted it because they wanted to be like a character #and they were later diagnosed with — you guessed it — autism!#Also both of us had an astonishing amount of free time on the internet and were raised essentially as only children in a cult #So I think a lot of it is isolation and just not knowing who you are because you never see yourself react to anything in real life #You don’t know what you would do in situations and therefore have no sense of self from total lack of life experience #And I actually had OCD for awhile as well… I kicked it for the most part. overall, I wasn't disappointed or surprised where the couples ended up in the show. Depending on how you interpret them, TopMew and SandRay aren't necessarily having a pure happy ending. The vibe - so to say - is still off in many ways.

If this is a compromise between having branded pairs and still trying to keep the story more open, I don't like it but I can live with it. It leaves space to further contemplate whether everyone got what they hoped for without undermining themselves. When I first read the post, I wasn't too convinced that it'd become an issue, but now I agree with @bengiyo that no branded pairs would've been better.

it can be argued that the show leaned a bit far into the slut-shaming, but to me it didn't seem to be the message the writers wanted to send but the reality of this friendship group. however, what does make me yearn for something that could've been is that not only did boston - a complicated and interesting character - get handed the short stick, Neo and Marks screentime was much less than the other pairs which only made his ending feel this much more painful.

not every scene can make it into the final cut, but their conversation after boston makes out with boeing leaves it unclear whether they had actually talked more about their boyfriend status or not. i think the break-up afterwards is a good choice for the characters either way, but it feels like some scene was left out (i am taking it personal if it was the pool table sex scene).

And while I enjoyed SandRay and - towards the end - thought that TopMew were quite interesting, I could've done without the second reading time for the kids and the fire alarm scene.

For a show that introduces the four friends as an ensemble, it doesn't add up to me that both Boston and Chueam got so little (and that with such stellar performances by Lookjun and specifically Neo) careful consideration.

#only friends the series #ofts #i believe the message by the writers was not that boston had it coming and is a bad guy #but by allowing this disbalance it doesn't come to me as a surprise that people are either shocked at what can be percieved as the writers #slut-shaming or are celebrating the defeat of the 'villain' of the show #beside the point but i think it is a tragedy that we don't get as many scenes with Mark and Neo as possible #mix's entry is either them leaving the door open for a sequel - or the hint that even if the commercial pairings persists all is not well #in paradise #but i have no idea and that is kind of where this show could've been more decisive

Christmas Prompts 23 ' Day 29 In Paradise

“It doesn’t feel like December.” She comments.

He laughs. “Of course not. We are on the other side of the world.”

Her chuckle joins his. “And me complaining about starting the new year in paradise.” She looks out over the clear blue ocean. A long planned for holiday in Australia, has the waning days of December feeling like August.

The children don’t seem to mind, splashing around in the warm ocean. He wraps his arms around her, resting his head on her shoulder, watching them.

“It is alright to be homesick.”

“Yet enjoy this moment in time.” She adds.

“Aye.”
