Hi, I just wanted to let you know that it is distasteful to assign a Norse deity as being beings from Algonquian and Navajo folklore. It's appropriative and feeds into the sort of "It was aliens bc they couldn't come up with their own beliefs" sort of thing. Two of the "cryptids" mentioned in that ask you got are from Algonquian and Navajo folklore. This is a PSA to not do that.

idk man my sense of masculinity is built upon joy and strong hugs and big laughs and protecting the people around me by drawing the attention of assholes to myself. when I was younger I used to go for the "brood and be grumpy" shtick, and it just made me and the people around me feel bad. I think my power now is in the ability to unwaveringly be a silly goofy guy. I want to bring laughter & love to a space. and obviously that's not a uniquely masculine trait (there's no such thing) but it's one of the biggest factors in how I experience my transmasc gender. god. I love being big and loud and full of love. promise me you won't be afraid to be bold?

Fairy Folklore References In a New Wish (so far)

In the gift basket Cosmo and Wanda give Hazel’s parents one of the items is a jar of pennies. It’s a thing in some places to leave pennies or nickels for Fairies as gifts. It probably wasn’t intentional but it’s still funny for me to think they thought it was a custom gift for humans

This is my favorite reference so far. According to folklore, fairies are believed to be fallen angels that were to good to go to Hell but not good enough to go back to Heaven

SWEEEEETS!! I don’t know if this is more modern folklore but fairies, and other fea related creatures really love sweets. Not just outright sugar, like prepared pastries and candy.

I know a lot of folklore off the top of my head so seeing these made me giggle.

btw this is why i think karkat (along with other trolls) is very biased about quadrants. just because nobody was saying "hey karkat i think your ideas and opinions about the quadrants are wrong because x y and z" doesn't mean he wasn't wrong. and i think the story proves him wrong in a lot of ways that just don't happen to include characters verbally disagreeing with him and then succinctly explaining why. i think it's a thing you're expected to be able to put together yourself
