'39 is a Queen song I love that I don't see mentioned often, and that's a damn shame
youtube
This song is about space travel time dilation, people!!
In the year of '39 came a ship in from the blue
The volunteers came home that day
And they bring good news of a world so newly born
Though their hearts so heavily weigh
For the Earth is old and grey, little darling, we'll away
But my love, this cannot be
Oh, so many years have gone though I'm older but a year
Your mother's eyes, from your eyes, cry to me
A Night at the Opera is in general a really neat album and I love it to death, but '39 specifically just brings me joy (and also lately has been making me think about time dilation in both fantasy and sci-fi)

orchid ⇢ what’s a song you consider to be perfect?
Oh god. Oh dear.
Well. I have many songs thst I consider perfect. Many many. But my favourite out of them all would have to be "39" by Queen. I LOVE sci-fi and I'm fascinated by the theory of relativity, specially time dilation (the theory within the theory where time moves slower for something or someone experiencing acceleration verses time speeding up for one who isn't moving).
"39" tells the story of a group of volunteer explorers going out into space to find a new planet because Earth is dying (mood). When they come back, an unspecified number of years have passed on Earth where only a single year has passed for the volunteers on the ship (though, since the lyric says "In the year of '39 / came a ship in from the blue / the volunteers came home that day", one can assume it's been a full 100 years from the last year of '39, when they left to find a new planet).
The speaker mourns his lost love, who he can see in the crying eyes of his daughter who is still alive after all this time.
I drew a piece related to it. That's how much I love this song.
It was written by Brian May, astrophysicist with a focus in planetary dust. He also is Queen’s famed guitarist. Look him up, he's a fascinating guy.

Character
Personality: Many a times, Ravina is seen by her opponents as cunning, dangerously precise when it comes to taking down anything they send after her, and an overall mystery that they become frustrated with trying to solve. For the most part, those traits hold a good amount of truth to it, and it does not help the fact that because of her reputation and strategy, she is unofficially called "The strongest swords woman in the world"(though it is a title up for debate, mostly Ravina trying to convince others that she isn't, due to the fact that earning that title was not her goal at all). Those that respect her and only know of her, she is a figure of honor, always the calm one in a seemingly dire situation, and is never the one to provoke a fight. But when you pull back the veil, you are met with an intelligent, but caring woman, who above all else, values the meaning of moral compassion over gaining self desires. To those she shows her true colors to (Loved ones, Crew mates, or family related friends), she is shown to be fair, always willing to reason rather than result anything in violence, and stays loyal to those she cares truly for. When interacting with others, she can be both ladylike yet to the point, keeping an open mind but at the same time if she sees something wrong, she will either reveal it later one for further comprehension or point it out if the situation calls for it. Due to her age, it comes with a natural urge of responsibility and respect of other peoples opinions and views, and with those extra years, has learned to tolerate many things and thus stay collected when things are troubling her. Yet another well known trait about her is that she is always observant (24-7), since it was the first lessons she had learned from her late mother before she passed away, she always practices it as a testament. On the other hand, when she is not within her comfortable element, she can be persuasive, confident and enigmatic when she wants to be, knowing that foreign conflicts have a better chance of getting resolved, even when you are not acting like the adult at the time. And so when it comes to any down sides, it takes a great amount of effort and deliberate frustration to piss her off, but when she is angry, she tends to have a condescending attitude towards the problem, and at times will belittle her enemies so to incapacitate them without violence(Kind of like a warning shot to stay away) If you get her past the point of no return, she will not immediately resolve to death, instead beating down those who are responsible to the point where they will not be able to continue for a very long time.
Dream: For most of her younger life, she had to stay on her hometown island, in fear that people would find out about her existence and would want to hurt her due to her heritage (Namely the Navy and World government). Many had told her that she was the result of the betrayal that shook the government, and was a danger to those around her. As she got older, her desire to get off the island and follow in her mother's footsteps had urged her to become a pirate, in a way to prove them wrong and defy the government as much as possible. That at first was her goal, boat as the years passed, she realized how big the world was, and so her dream had began to change. Her dream became to see the world she was denied to see as a child, and thus become free.
Reputation: For the most part, she hides her face behind a tribal mask, so to not reveal her identity to the world government. The reasoning was because she is the daughter of not only an infamous pirate by the name of Leiavana Serene "Serenade of Demons", who came from the island of Ohara long before it's destruction, she was the result of Serene's relationship with Warlord Faust Aron "Spirit Reaver Aron", who betrayed the government before Ravina was born. She knows that any member of the Faust family is recognized by their striking silver eyes. So to not risk anyone important to her even more so, she mostly wears the mask. When she began piracy 14 yrs before the Before Marinewar time line, her victory over a ruthless group of marines called the Eastern blood crows, by single handedly annihilating the entire ship had marked her first action against the navy, and it was then she was officially labeled as a pirate. Her rep skyrocketed after every defeat of marine aggressors and other notorious pirates, including the rumored connections with the Revolutionary army. When news spread of her alliance with Whitebeard, who was known to be previously allied with her mother in the past, she became an even bigger target. During the marineford war, her identity as a Faust was finally revealed.
Background: Born on the Meridias Isles with her parents (both retired temporarily from piracy so to raise her), she grew up with her identity hidden. Despite this, she had a fairly normal childhood, training with her father with the art of the sword, and would often play hooky with another kid whom she called Hawk, who would only visit the island for a short time for every visit. For most of her younger life, she had to stay on her hometown island, in fear that people would find out about her existence and would want to hurt her due to her heritage (Namely the Navy and World government). Many had told her that she was the result of the betrayal that shook the government, and was a danger to those around her. As she got older, her desire to get off the island and follow in her mother's footsteps had urged her to become a pirate, in which it was a dream shared by her friend Hawk, who later proposed to her and vowed to join her in her future travels. Before she could though, once she turned 20, a ruthless group of marines called the Eastern blood crows invaded the island, with every intention to find and arrest her father. In an attempt to hide him, she revealed herself instead, and volunteered to take his place. But during the trip towards Enies Lobby, a freak storm had hit them, and through the fray, she destroyed the ship and killed them. Cast away on a nearby island, she was brought back to health by a small tribe of warriors called the Halshierans, and for around four years, lived with them and gained a place among them. After that, she departed the island, and after a long journey, returned to her home, only to find that Hawk had already left, and her father under the assumption that she had been dead. Easing his fears, she declared her arrival as the official departure as a pirate, and taking her father's old pirate ship 10 yrs before the current timeline, established the Crusader pirates.
Powers
DF: None
Abilities: User of armament haki (To protect her sword from damage and herself from the full force of a blow) and observation haki(To try and predict an opponents attack/ To find the weak spot). Super human speed, unbelievable balance, agility, accuracy, and reflexes.
Skills: Swordsmenship, piloting a ship, carving, the art of intimidation, some hand to hand combat, knowledge on devil fruits and reputations of most pirates, reading other languages(Has a poneglyph translation book), public speaking, Stealth, cooking, going undercover, wine making, some basic medical expertise, tracking skills, Metallurgy, Dancing, etiquette, acquiring information, and negotiating.
Weapons: A long sword called Eclipse and a Wakazashi given by the Halsherians.
(Other weapons of preference)- If no sword, than a wooden staff, either that or her basic skills on hand to hand combat.
Relationships
Halsherians- A tribe of islanders that came to her aid when the marine ship she was captive on got destroyed in a freak storm. She stayed with the tribe for 4 years, eventually earning their respect and molded into the tribe, until she had to return home. They provided a ship, supplies, and wished her farewell by giving her a warriors traditional mask. It is the same mask she wears when she becomes s pirate.
The Sun pirates- During her journey back home 14 years before Marineford, she came upon the Sun pirates who were docked in the same town she was in at that time. Due to a scuffle between her and Arlong, which ended up in her boat getting ripped to pieces, she made a deal with the captain to allow her to travel on their boat until she got to where she could get another boat. In that time, she befriended and gained the trust of many of its members, especially that of the young girl named Koala. She spent a few months on their ship before they reached an island with a port of boats, and that is where they parted ways.
The Crusader pirates- The pirate crew she later forms after she leaves her home. Taking the boat her father used called the Passover, she traveled around the Grandline, recruiting members that wished to follow the piratical life and wished for a free life on the open sea. Because of the many hardships they pulled through, and the adventures they shared together, they respect her. The bond they have is similar to that of brothers and sisters, which is constantly tested by the many secrets she tends to hold to herself, but later reveals.
Dracule Mihawk- Ravina and Mihawk were childhood friends in their early years, and in their twenties, they had plans to marry and create their own pirate crew. But before that could happen, a radical group of Marines called the Southern blood crows landed on the island, with the intent to take her father to Enies lobby for his past crimes. She took his place instead, and did not see him for 12 yrs, and in that time she became a pirate captain and he a warlord. After those 12 yrs, they meet again and rekindle what they had before. Out of that, Damien and Serene (Named after her mother) came around.
Other
. Daughter of a former warlord
. The sword Eclipse was once her mother's, a sword made in Ohara with unknown status
. Was at least 26 when she began the life of a pirate
. Mother died when a buster call was announced to destroy her home in Ohara, Ravina was only 19.
. Her mother was a commander in Whitebeard's crew.
. Began piracy 15 yrs before the Strawhats
. Majority of the time, hides her face with a tribal raven like mask.
. Participated in the Marineford war, on the side freeing Ace
. Her mother Leiavana Serene was a pirate, her father Faust Aron was a warlord many yrs ago.
. Her mother's place of origin was Ohara, thus she learned how to read poneglyphs. Due to her sudden death however, she could not teach Ravina, and so the last thing she gave her daughter was a translation journal, that translated the glyphs into english.

In the year of '39 came a ship in from the blue The volunteers came home that day And they bring good news of a world so newly born Though their hearts so heavily weigh For the earth is old and grey, little darling, we'll away But my love this cannot be For so many years have gone though I'm older but a year Your mother's eyes, from your eyes, cry to me

Tumblr media
In the year of '39 assembled here the volunteers
In the days when the lands were few
Here the ship sailed out into the blue and sunny morn
The sweetest sight ever seen
You awaken to the sound of your lover, Brian, packing his luggage. You grimace at the sight.
Right…. Today is the day.
You want to be happy for him, truly. He has been wanting to do this trip since he first began working with 19 other esteemed astrophysicists of the world on this space travel plan. However, you know it would leave your daughter, Emily, without her father for the first full year of her life.
Brian notices you watching him from the bed and comes to sit down by you.
“Go back to sleep, my love. There’s still some time before I must go.” he takes your hand gingerly. You hold it tighter, which makes Brian look up at you. Your solemn eyes say so much more than what you want to let on.
“I’m going to see you off.” you tell him firmly. He seems slightly alarmed at your reprimand, but he knows better than to protest. Instead he replies with a soft smile and a nod. As if on cue to break the tension, your daughter begins blubbering in the room over. You both chuckle.
Brian pulls you up. He aids you in dressing Emily, and you all have breakfast together. You eat in a comfortable silence for quite some time. That was, until Emily thought it would be funny to sputter all her food onto the table
“Messy, messy” you smirk. Right as you get up, Brian sets a hand over yours. “I’ll take care of it, darling.” he assures you. He grabs a napkin and wipes up the mess Emily made and cleans off her face. She giggles and reaches out for Brian. He picks her up and holds her close to him, humming a tune in her ear.
“You are more precious than anything in this world. I wish I could watch you grow.” he coos to her. You feel a weight in your chest as he utters those words. The reality is setting in once again today.
You finish up getting ready and head to the airship harbor on the edge of town. You make it in time for Brian to make his speech after the head of the committee.
“Ladies and gentleman,” he begins. “We, the volunteers, gather here to begin one of man’s greatest exhibitions through space history has to date. Our work has brought us so far, and it will only take us farther. Our mission is to explore past our solar system to the next over in search of intelligent life, new civilizations, and another planet with which we will expand our views to new horizons. Traveling at the rate we are, it should be a year-long trip. We thank you all for your support, and we will return with news of worlds newly born.”
There is a thunderous applause as Brian finishes his speech. He looks to you in the crowd for approval. Judging by your misty eyes, he feels confident in his words. He makes his way to you and wraps you in a warm embrace and places a kiss on Emily’s head.
“You’re going to do amazing things…” you whisper to him. He holds you a little tighter, taking in your scent one final time.
“So will you and Emily.” he replies. He smiles at the sleeping baby on your chest.
“I’m going to miss you.” You dare not look at him at this point, not waiting him to see your tears that threaten to fall with each second. Brian places a soft touch under your chin in silent permission to see your face. You look up at him and the tears that previously prick your eyes fall.
“It’s only a year. I promise I’ll be back not a moment later.” he assures you.
“And then you’ll marry me, right? You ask, half-jokingly. Brian laughs brightly.
“And then I’ll come back and marry you!” He pulls you and Emily into a tight hug, planting a big kiss on your temple. You chuckle back, but the moment is severed by the head of the committee giving the signal for everyone to board. You and Brian exchange a worried glance. You bit your lip as he slips away from you. His hand runs down your arm and grasps your hand last second.
“I’ll miss you. Write of me please?” he asks you before running to the ship.
“I will!” You call back.
“I love you!” his voice echoes through the crowd
Your feelings don’t matter to you any longer. You would not let them stop you from supporting Brian, as much as you will miss him. He is the love of your life, and nothing will separate you too.
Not even space travel.
And the night followed day
And the story tellers say
That the score brave souls inside
For many a lonely day sailed across the milky seas
Ne'er looked back, never feared, never cried
Don't you hear my call though you're many years away
Don't you hear me calling you
Write your letters in the sand
For the day I take your hand
In the land that our grandchildren knew
Days, weeks, and months pass since Brian’s departure. Not once does he cry. The thought of you and Emily keeps him going. Every day he looks back toward Earth where you would be, as if he can feel your doting gaze through the cosmos.
You remain faithful to him. You admit, there is a chasm in your chest as you sit each day without him at the dinner table. Each night though, you take Emily to the beach across town in case the airship comes back early. And each day you would write in the sand in silent prayer for Brian to be safe.
“Please be home soon… I love you.” you say toward the starry sky.
You cope with Brian’s absence by telling stories of your lover to Emily. Though you doubt she understands a word of what you are saying, you can see the same twinkle in her hazel eyes that Brian had whenever he told you about the cosmos.
“When daddy and I first met, he was playing guitar in a band called smile” you emphasize the word to Emily, giving her the biggest grin. She smiles back at you and giggles, sending a warm tingling feeling through your body.
“And the first time he and I danced together in that pub, I knew he was the one.” You sigh happily at the memory.
As a year came to pass, Emily began to say her first word. You sob as you hear her emit the word
“Brian”
Perhaps she does understand your stories.
A year came and passed, then another, then another. The town around you has shifted. People have passed, people have been born and grown….Still, there is no sign of the airship. It breaks your heart, but you can only think the worst has happened.
Your lover is gone.
Still, you return to the beach every day with Emily, who at this point has grown into a beautiful young lady, and write letters in the sand, praying that Brian would return and marry you and share the rest of your life together.
“Why do we still return?” Emily asks you as you sit, listening to the waves beneath the blanket of night. Your gaze remains fixed on the cosmos above. It felt as if, if you looked hard enough, maybe you can see the airship.
“I suppose,” you sigh. “I still have hope that Brian is still out there…” your eyes trail the cosmos as your finger traces in the sand idly. Emily deflates slightly.
“I admire your dedication.” she says, defeated. She gets up from the sand and offers you a hand.
“It’s late… we should go home.” she tells you. You look to her, and you swear you can see so much of her father in her.
“You go on ahead. I may stay here a little while longer.” you tell her. She wants to protest, but she understands what this means to you. She gives you a nod and backs up slightly.
“Don’t stay out too late.” Emily demands softly. You nod to her and bring your gaze back to the horizon.
“Be safe Brian.”
+++
Years and years follow still, and still you go to the beach at night to watch for the airship. Your hope and dedication never fade in your growing age. Emily has since moved out and married a young man and bares children. She passes down the stories you told her in her youth. By this point, 20 more years have come and gone. You haven’t seen Emily in years. She comes back to your home with her family, though, when she receives the news that you have fallen ill in your waning age.
There you lay in the town’s hospital. You feel like a cyborg what with all the machines they’ve hooked you into. You stare blankly out the window, still gazing at the sky. Your mind was numb from the medicine the doctors gave you. All was quiet until a knock came at the door, snapping you from your trance. “Come in.” you call hoarsely. The nurse that had knocked pokes her head into the room before slipping in.
“(Y/n), you have some visitors.” the nurse tells you. You look at her in confusion.
“I wasn’t expecting anyone, but send them in.” She nods and ushers to your mystery guest outside. Your jaw nearly drops to the floor as a familiar face poked its head around the corner.
“Emily…” you felt damn near a sheer heart attack.
Though older now, likely in her 40s at this point, Emily was still as beautiful as ever. Her belly is swollen. She must be expecting soon. One more person enters. A male, likely her husband.
“Hey there.” Emily smiles weakly at you. Her tone is hushed. You take in the sight of her beautiful family and a few tears fall from your eyes. Emily rushes over to you and envelopes you in a careful hug.
“Wha- What are you doing here?” you asked her, shocked. She almost snorts at your question. “You think I wouldn’t come see you when I got the news?” Emily looks between insulted and concerned for you.
“Well. I’m glad to see you.” you grin at her. Suddenly you break into a coughing fit.
“Are you okay? Do I need to call a nurse?” Emily blurts quickly. You put up a hand as to say “no”
“I don’t need to see them again. What are they gonna do? Shove more needles in me?” you ask between coughs. You mean it to be a joke, but it comes out much more bitter. Emily chuckles sympathetically. As your coughing dies down, Emily begins introductions.
“Oh, uh. This is… Tom, my husband. Tom, this is (y/n).” Emily motions to the man leaning in the door. He steps up and takes your hand. “It’s nice to meet you.” he offers. You nod.
“And who will this be?” you inquire, bringing a soft hand to Emily’s belly. She looks down fondly at the lump.
“We haven’t decided yet, but we’ll let you know.”
You spend the rest of the day chatting and catching up, learning what Emily was up to for the last 20 years after she left home. She seldom came to visit, not that you mind. You understand her duties were with her new family coming along, though, you still missed her, and you make sure to tell her. She apologizes to you, and you forgive. Then, it came time for Emily to return home.
“I’ll come back again in a few days. I promise.”
“I’ll hold you to it.”
In the year of '39 came a ship in from the blue
The Volunteers came home that day
And they bring good news of a world so newly born
Though their hearts so heavily weigh
Years come and go once again. The Earth has passed around the sun many times more. Emily has born her child, affectionately named “Mercury” after one of Brian’s and your mutual friends that Emily had come to know while visiting you at the hospital. While you were there, she and her family kept your tradition of visiting the beach at the edge of town, looking into the sky for the airship that carries your lover through the cosmos. Emily passed down the same stories you once told her as a child to Mercury. Emily then grew old after you and so did Mercury, who then kept the tradition going with their family as well.
It was a cool autumn night when the day came that an airship sails back into the sky harbor. A tall man with curly brown hair stands at the front of the ship awaiting eagerly to touch the ground he has so dearly missed.
“Many changes happened to this city while we were gone, eh, Bri?” a scientist comes up from being him. Upon further speculation, Brian notices just how vastly different the cityscape below is. Buildings have shifted, plants have been cut down and grown elsewhere, cars look incredibly different than they did before. It weighs his chest slightly.
“I.. suppose it does, yes.” Brian replied, cocking a brow. Still, it is his home and he is relieved to see it, no matter how different it seems. The airship touches the ground and the volunteers file out.
“No one is waiting for us. Not to sound ungrateful, but I expected just a little pomp and circumstance!” a man grumbles to his friend by Brian. “Maybe we’re ahead of schedule?” another pipes up.
“No way! One year exactly. We’re fine.” says a third. Brian sifts through the crowd. He ends up by the beach. There he spots a familiar figure, drawing in the sand. Though, they look somewhat older.
For the earth is old and grey, little darlin' we'll away
But my love this cannot be
For so many years have gone though I'm older but a year
Your mother's eyes from your eyes cry to me
“(y/n)! Oh, my sweet! I’m back! I missed you!” he yells. The person looks to him and gets up to greet him. He brings them into a tight embrace, picking them up and spinning them in the process.
“Brian?” they say almost in disbelief. He sets them down, nodding ecstatically. “Yes! Yes, I’m back, my love. Oh, we found so many new planets! So many worlds! I’ll tell you over supper!” he plants a million kisses on them and they wriggle free. Brian lets them go in confusion.
“(y/n)? Love, what’s wrong?” he asks, hurt by the action.
“(y/n)... That was…  Wait, You must be (y/n)’s husband, but I don’t understand- you’re so young I-”
“Wait,” Brian stops dead. “What do you mean? W- Who are you? You look just like my (y/n).” his eyes are wide in fear.
“I’m Mercury. Emily- your daughter- is… was… my mother.” Mercury states with worry in their eye.
“I don’t understand. I was only gone a year!” his hazel eyes are wide with anxiety and insanity, trying to process what Mercury is saying.
“Brian, it’s been 100 years since the volunteers set off. Everyone assumed you all died already. Well, everyone but (y/n).”
“I don’t understand.... So you would be.”
“Your grandchild, yes.”
Brian runs a shaky hand through his hair. He rubs his temple with his thumb.
“So that would mean…” he trails off. Mercury offers a sympathetic look and sets a hand on Brian’s shoulder. “I’m sorry…” they offer. Brian falls to the ground, sobbing.
“Oh no…. No, no no…. (y/n)....” was all he could choke out between sobs. He gripped at Mercury’s coat, tears staining the fabric.
“I’m sorry.” Mercury says, rubbing his back. There they remain for a long while, as Brian processes the true length he has been gone.
He’d never see you again.
He’d never see Emily again.
All he has now is Mercury, the only remnant of your legacy. A spitting image of you.
Don't you hear my call though you're many years away
Don't you hear me calling you
Write your letters in the sand
For the day I take your hand
In the land that our grandchildren knew
Don't you hear my call though you're many years away
Don't you hear me calling you
All your letters in the sand cannot heal me like your hand
For my life
Still ahead
Pity me
A/N: Sorry it took so long! I really hope you enjoyed!

Redbellion: Astronomical dawn
Part 24 of Redbellion Story - The Finale Part 1
Additional drabble to check -  Defiant Against the Storm by @magicaldreaming
In Acadian space, at Glyderrum(15) System, over the newly turned fortress world of La Isabella, a combined fleet waits among the well built defenses. This choke point is one of two left into Acadian and Kansaku space, the space that hasn’t been invaded.
To the Galactic South, over the planet of Soudas in the Goltara(39) System. The very same, the Kansaku and all its allies, stand waiting. The planet had fended off a colossus before, but now a tide of unbidden threatens to sweep over both choke points.
Survivors are still rushing in every day, chased by small recon fleets of Unbidden, each destroyed to save those fleeing the horror. Many Billions have been saved, though crowded on the last few planets in these two Great Stellar Empires, their survival a credit to the sacrifices made by many along the way.
But everywhere else beyond this borders is lost space, even the once Mighty Red Collective remains, isolated as the unbidden descend upon the Scarlet System(82) as the Data Witch of Jeanne’s, the new core to the Red Collective, helps this empire make its own final stand.
Even though the Unbidden and the Aberrant are both extra-dimensional invaders, they’re opposed to each other, battling themselves at any sight of the other. Exhausting themselves, but still their tide is too large and their hunger too big to ignore the three remaining feasts before them.
People of all races, backgrounds, Izalith Survivors, Thrall world freed slaves, Tatari, Acadian, Kansaku, even one Senji and several Velutarians. Ancient ships and old creatures, power beings and stalwart defenders with no business being in battle.
All pieces would be set into play over La Isabella and Soudas. A sight once witnessed not too long ago, over the small farming of Bammun. Brave defenders with all but hope in their hearts. Battling it out in the sky.
Tumblr media
People on Soudas and La Isabella stared upwards, those that could fired from planetary batteries, and anyone who wasn’t part of the effort watched and prayed. They put their faith in people who might have led them wrong at the start, people who didn’t do enough to begin, but now were placing it all on the life. Leaders, soldiers, volunteers, ancients and oddities. Outsiders and natives to this galaxy.
Tumblr media
Over Soudas the mixed Kansaku fleets battled with their hearts on display, the ancient fleet that the Queen had procured, controlled by Gates in her place as the last of Sol recognized, met the unbidden face to face. Saving many lives as these automated ships were able to bear the brunt of the assault. Breaking through endless Aberrant Unbidden ships and encircling others. The Aberrant not ones to flee, battled to their own end, perishing in displays of high energy explosions.
The faith placed in these strangers, the strange oddities and ships alongside them, the survivors and former enemies like the Izalith fleets, helped the Kansaku side survive. The shattered through the unthinkably large unbidden fleet. Breaking out into the darkness of space as the last Aberrant Unbidden exploded.
One fight had finished, and another was beginning. Over La Isabella the Acadian forces joined with the Velutarians and others, met their foes as well. Just like over Soudas, the fleets clashed.
Tumblr media
The Allied fleets took a pummeling from the Aberrant Unbidden, their massive forces that had come together filled the skies with ships, but the Acadians weren’t about to be outdone by their Kansaku sisters and brothers. The Velutarians too, had a debt to pay, their mistakes for taking too long to help on display as they rushed forth. Taking unbidden fleet after unbidden fleet down.
Tumblr media
Yet even with the odds so against them, they held on. Inching closer and closer to victory even as more unbidden arrived. Shredding the energy shields of these abominations till there was none left.
Collectively over the skies of Soudas and La Isabella, not a single Aberrant Unbidden remained.
Damaged, battered, brought to their wits end with losses sustained. The unified galaxy wished to collectively take a sigh. But just as quickly as the dust settled over these three planets, as if there was not even a beat missed. At the edge of the system, more Aberrant unbidden fleets entered.
Tumblr media
Yet instead of showing despair, people steeled themselves. They had come too far to lose, prayers set, wishes made, loved ones held for one final time. They had only a small bit of time before the Aberrant Unbidden were upon them, In Scarlet as well, the Data Witch who had exhausted herself, the Collective units that remained protecting all those that were part of their empire. Dragged themselves together.
In this brief moment, it was as if everyone who was still here, everyone who had passed, everyone who had given something to this cause, gave one simple wish.
“Give us one more chance. We’ll give anything, just to have one more chance. Grant us this one wish, someone...”
Usually wishes were not something to rely on, but with the players in this game, with the dedication everyone had to hoping for a miracle, to giving anything for it.
For once. A wish would be exactly what was needed.
The last system untouched by any threat, the Light’s End system in former Red Collective Space. A blackhole system with a Matter Decompressor, though that mega structure used for mining at long since been destroyed. Leaving only the L-Gate in the system.
The L-gate, the one of its kind to connect to the L-cluster, the small section of stars on the outskirts of the galaxy. The only route to the former prison of the Grey Goo, but now this system was both a choke point for any nanites that sought to escape, as well as a meeting point for the leaders of the Red Collective and the Extermination Directive.
Tumblr media
Around this black hole and its accompanying gate, a final showdown of creatures far beyond the struggles of fleets and ships. Forced to this location by different means, their powers needed, for this final step.
Jeanne had been forced her by Harune, banished from the shield world she tried to attack them on. Forced away by untold magic. And Core, torn through by Gates on the Extermination Matrix, and with one final push of life, thrown her by Zak’Yanna. Forcing the two titans to meet finally, the two who, had caused this galaxy to split into hell, into the depths of chaos.
While they faced each other, floating around this vortex of debris, neither made a move. They waited, watching the other regain their respective strengths. Eyes staring. If they fought, what would the winner gain, nothing truly. Both of their empires were defeated. Through the L-gate, Gray meeting her end at the hands of a collection of people, sealed, reprogrammed. Her next usage for whoever claimed this gate and killed the other.
Even with that, what was there to gain from this lost galaxy? Nothing. But they wouldn’t just walk away, both had grudges, both hated each other.
Thus they did what was expected of the pair. The former robot reaching into her chest, forming a disgusting black energy blade to spill out into space. And Jeanne pulled her own weapon off her hip, smothering it in her red magic, sickening in display compared to her usual blue.
Tumblr media
Staring heartlessly at Core Jeanne spoke. “Isn’t this what you wanted from the start Core? Or perhaps I should address you for who you really are. Yugveer? Victory over the era. Formerly a real living thing, ascended to machine, a precursor that defied their life’s end. One of the few to see the first light of this galaxy, and now you look upon its last.”
Tumblr media
Taken aback by Core’s true name being mentioned, she could only smirk afterwards before letting out her thoughts. “So you’ve figured it out. You mindless witch, you saved me and yet you didn’t even stop to think what you saved. You let me take it all, and I thank you. Now I can take my time, forever cleansing this galaxy, harnessing the unbidden, and cleansing more life. Forever. You who stood in my way for too long, you who robbed me of too many unique things to add to this body..”
Tumblr media
Paused in thought, Jeanne thought to herself. “Perhaps I thought maybe like myself, change could happen over time but. We’re both wrong aren’t we? You’re a monster now, and so am I. That’s right.”
Tumblr media
“We’re monsters and there’s no need for us to be anything more. Come on Yugveer, you’ve been waiting a long time for this. You’ve robbed me of my daughters, my everything, its only fair I take all you have and make a mockery of it.” Jeanne’s hand rested on her face, only adding to the moment of anger started to take her over.
Tumblr media
“You don’t know how happy I am for this! Red Witch! Jeanne Beaulieu. When I’m done, I’ll kill the remaining people on in the Scarlet System, your toys, your daughters I’ll find them all and end their lives.” Yugveer announced.
Tumblr media
“And then I’ll rest happily. Be going on to kill more.”
In a moment, a brief moment both of these super powered beings went from one location, to the next.
Tumblr media
A clang of empowered metal as dark energy and red energy rippled out around the black hole, stretching for thousands, if not millions of kilometers. Any who stayed to watch would know this wasn’t their fight to interfere with. Both of these monsters in their element, at their prime, without anything to hold back.
One, a witch of tens of thousands of spells, thousands of years of experience and learner, backed by her patron of an old one, who’s support hinged on how much fun it was to watch their pawn place. And oh, were they having fun.
And the other, a precursor that had living millions to billions of years, ancient as ever, ascended flesh, and metal, and now pure energy. A mix of endless voices and powers, full of hate and killing intent.
Pushing away from each other, both bringing out magics so much alike, as Yugveer’s entire understanding of magic came from Jeanne. Like mirrors they acted, orbs departing their bodies, one red one black, and firing off intense bolts of magic. Both defending with crystals matching their magical colors, slashes empowered with soul, cutting out from their blades.
It was like watching two minds, so alike, both ready to kill. They were alike, no better than the other. They used people, they killed, they had nothing and needed nothing. Monsters entirely. Both with endless supplies of energy, this battle could rage forever.
But as they clashed, blasts of magic so intense it melted the nearby asteroids and debris swirling around this vortex. Beams so powerful they might just erase planets, and cuts so deep they ate away at the rest of one’s body unless neutralized by magic. There was still one more actor to enter this stage.
Her role, this late arrival, was to keep balance. She could not act without payment, she could not strike without purpose. To do anything but acting in favor of a client, or another, would almost destroy her.
But this was different now. Her Unbalance and balance returned to her, and the wish of an entire galaxy laid out. Payment taken, the troubles, the turmoils, they ability to return to space for several centuries. The payment give, offered by all these prayers, their hopeful dreamers. All visited in their dreams, all willing to give everything just for that next chance.
When they asked, if someone would grant their wish. That someone did answer. And they answered.
“Yes I will grant your wish.”
Entering Light’s End, appearing from a cloud in space, the arrival of the third part would bring Jeanne and Yugveer to a halt, both of their eyes trained on the newcomer. Jeanne’s eyes angered, the one who she wished would heal her, who denied her, who escaped her. Was here.
And to Yugveer, the one responsible for all the outside interference, all the people who sabotaged her, the Queen’s success, Gates, all of them.
Tumblr media
Harune, the usually docile, unable to act memory weaver. Stood before them, no one else in sight with her. Just Harune, just this one thing answering the call of a galaxy.
“I will grant their wish, for one more chance. But in order to do so, I have to remove you two from this game board. Come Yugveer, Jeanne Beaulieu. I have lost much today, but even still. I am not alone. Neither of you can leave here, neither of you will topple me.”
The fox tailed woman, usually seen as the enigmatic hostess stood before the two. And challenged them.
For she fights now, for the galaxy’s wish and her own wish. That is why she can act. For those fighting over Soudas, La Isabella, and Scarlet. Even if they are friend or foe, she fights to give them all one last chance. Without things like Jeanne or Yugveer, the unbidden or Gray in the way.
One chance at a fresh galaxy.
Tumblr media
“I am, their hope. And the end to your silly games with this galaxy.”
Tumblr media

39’- Brian May One Shot
A/n: a new series I’m starting y’all. It’s going to be in this type of format, I’ll figure out a way to post all of the stories in this series. I worked really hard on this so I really really hope you guys enjoy! Let me know what other songs I should do this with! Much love<3
WC: 2.4k
Summary: Earth is dying. And Brian takes the opportunity to help try to save you and his now growing family.
Warnings: it’s real sad ngl. Contains suicide, so please if that triggers you, don’t read!
Tumblr media
The year was 2238. Earth was dying, and it was inevitable. The air was unbearably hot and sticky. The last clear sky was recorded in the 2100s. There are records from hundreds of years ago where kids got out of school for snow, something kids nowadays only read about. They could never imagine it. They got out of school for things like if the temperature was over 50°C, even then, you never missed a day of school. Not after the newly designed school head set. Sick? Put it on and enjoy your day at school. Heat day? Even teachers had one.
In 2200, the government in nearly all countries had failed. The world leaders came together to creat the SSA; the Synchronized Settlement Act. From then on, the world wasn't split into countries. It was one, though physically separated, everyone was one. The Earth was labeled by direction.
You had married the love of your life, Brian May in 2330. Every couple was allowed one child, due to over population. You and Brian decided to wait as long as you could to have the child, especially with the rumors of a newly born world that was possibly near. Alas, those were only but rumors. With Brian's musical talent and his knowledge of space, he had scored you all a nice shack on the beach. It was small, but nicer than most of the southern homes.
This night, you were sitting on the beach, looking at the cloudy sunset. You were surrounded by trash, and the ocean was black is was so dirty. But you were used to it. You all were. Your thoughts were interrupted by a body sitting close to you. You could tell it was Brian by the shadow. "Doing what you do best," He stated, sitting next to you. "And what's that?" You asked, looking over to him. He smiled, pushing your hair behind your ear. "Looking absolutely breath taking. Looks like tonight is clearer than most nights, that's good," He said, pointing out to the coast. You nodded your head disappointingly. "Yeah, I only wish I could see a real sunset. I read once that people used to see the sun, and it wasn't just a mush of colors." You said. He pressed his hand against your neck, rubbing it slightly. "I know, my love," he whispered to you. It absolutely killed him how much he could see you hurt when you talked about how the way things used to be. "I come with good news and bad news," He said, wrapping his hand around yours. You smiled. "I could use some good news." He smiled back, showing his perfect teeth. "The newly born world is real, and they leave to find it in ten months," you smiled so wide, you had never been so happy, besides your wedding day. "Oh Brian! That's fantastic! How could that ever have something bad?" You said, hugging him. "Well, they asked for volunteers, preferably ones with knowledge of space," he quietly spoke. Your heart sank, as did your arm that had been resting on his shoulder. "And, you volunteered?" You asked, your face flushing from the sadness. And he nodded.
A few months had gone by, and it was months full of fun, crying, and passionate love making. On this particular night, you had been feeling weird for the last few months, so you went to the doctor while Brian was away at training. You find out that you're four months pregnant. You sat in your car crying for hours. You couldn't tell if it was out of the happiness that you'd have a part of Brian with you while he was gone, or sad because you'd have to do this alone. Once you returned home, you found Brian at the table reading a book about space. He looked up at you to smile, taking a second before noticing your tear stained eyes. "My love, what's wrong?" He said, pulling himself up and hugging you. "Bri, I'm," you started, unable to find the words to finish. So you showed him the paper work. "You're pregnant," he stated, you nodding your head in response. He hugged you tightly, and you couldn't help but to sob in his chest.
In the year of 39' assembled here the volunteers, in the days when the lands were few
The day he was to leave finally arrived. They were together, holding each other for what felt like hours. He pulled back, holding your left hand. “This ring binds us. And it will for as long as we will,” he said, kissing your hand. “When you wear it, look at the sky and close your eyes. You’ll know what I mean soon,” he continued.
Here the ship sailed out, into the blue and sunny mourn, sweetest sight ever seen.
Your moment was interrupted by someone yelling that it was time to leave. He grabbed your face and kissed you for as long as he possibly could. “I love you Brian Harold May!” You yelled as he was being forced into the rocket. “I love you too (y/f/n)!” His muffled voice yelled. Within an hour, the rocket was gone and had taken off.
That was the loneliest night of your life. You laid there, looking at his side of the bed. You vowed that never in your life for as long as you live, no one, not even you, will lay there. You looked at your wedding band, remembering what he said. You got out of bed, your feet hitting the cold floor, and walked to the front porch. You saw the silhouette of the moon, but you could tell it was full. You closed your eyes and did everything you could to feel him.
And the night followed day, and the story tellers say, that the score Brave Souls inside,
6 months had passed and your baby was born. You birthed a beautiful baby boy, who you named Brian Harold May Jr., Harry for short. Harry was only a few weeks old. One the media, they name the volunteers the Brave Souls.
For a many lonely day, sailed across the milky sea, ne’er looked back, never feared, never cried.
A year had passed. They had very little contact with the volunteers, at this point they could only receive messages. But, the Brave Souls, as their name implies, they were brave. Strong. Not one wanted to turn around. They weren’t afraid. They wanted to fix the mess that the past had made, and restart for their families. Even though they so dearly missed them.
Don’t you hear my call? Though you’re many years away, don’t you hear me calling you?
It’s been five years since the volunteers left. You began to question when they will return. Harry was turning five in a few weeks, and for his present he wants his daddy. It broke your heart. At night, after you had your dinner, washed up your son, and put him to bed, you’d spend your nights out side looking at the sky. You began to feel his longing for you, you felt it at first in your stomach, the same warm feeling he gave you, but as time went on, you felt it in your head, then your heart. You knew he was calling for you. And you called for him.
He could feel it, too. As he looked out of the window, he held his wedding band, closed his eyes, and focused on you. They had been gone for a few weeks now, and man did he miss you.
Write your letters in the sand, for the day I take your hand, in the land that our grandchildren knew.
Harry was ten years old. It had been ten years since you’d seen Brian. You were close to loosing hope that he was still alive, but you wrote him letters every night. Every night for ten years, not to mention the ones Harry wrote when he started to write. You all glued and pasted them to pages in a scrap book for his return, waiting patiently for him.
Harry wrote about how he wants to meet his daddy. You and he watched the news together, looking at the group picture that the Brave Souls took. You always pointed Brian out. “There’s daddy,” you’d say, holding your child. At night, you always looked towards his side of the bed. You hadn’t kissed, slept with, or even touched another man that wasn’t your son. His side of the bed had gone untouched for ten years. Harry liked to draw pictures of space, he’d show his friends at school. Only they weren’t his friends. He had come home with a black eye one day, they had teased him mercilessly that his dad was dead and that he should just face it. That was the last time you sent him away.
You home schooled him for the remainder of his school years.
Many many years had passed, and you had to face the fact that you may never see Brian again. You were old. You were dying. You were at the age of 65 when you were old you had cancer, it was at stage two and spreading fast. But you fought for 20 more years. Harry was 58, with a child of his own, and she with a child of her own. Harry’s wife died at child birth. His daughter was in her 30s, her daughter was almost 9. You adored your grandchild and your great grandchild. Soon, at the age of 89, you passed away peacefully.
Harry was devastated over your death. He lost his wife, Emily, when she had Aliyah. All he had was his daughter and his grandchild, Millie. Aliyah and Millie took care of him. He told them the stories of his father, Brian Harold May Senior. Millie loved the stories. He showed the girls the notes you and he wrote together, it always brought Aliyah to tears.
40 years later, Harry is 98. He’s getting older, and he can feel his body giving out. Aliyah is in her 70s, Millie is in her 40s with a son of her own who is 18 and expecting. The story’s of yours and Brian’s love never once left the family line, each new generation swearing to give it to Brian if the day ever came. Harry died at 100, one of the eldest men to have lived in the south side. Brian’s
In the year of 39’ came the ship in from the blue, the volunteers came home that day.
The family titled the book of letters you and Harry wrote ‘The Book of Love’. It was now in possession of his great great great grandson, Brian Harold May III. On a cold, September morning, their favorite show, The Moonies, was interrupted. “Damnit! I want to see what happens to Jill! What is this shit?” Millie said, angrily. She was visiting Harold was and his pregnant wife. Aliyah died in a plane crash a few months back. Harold was adding to the Book of Love, when he heard Millie shouting. “Mum, what is it?” He asked. He looked at her with a gaping mouth. “They-they’re-“ She started, standing to her feet as Harold realized what was happening. “They’re home,” he whispered. “Janet! Janet! They’re home! They’re home!” He said, shouting to his wife, now 7 months pregnant. “That’s great love! Go! Go meet him!” She said, kissing him deeply.
They went to the launching pad where they could meet Brian May Senior for the first time. They had a sign with his name on it. The door opened, to only six men. “I thought 16 had left?” Janet whispered to Harold. “No, yeah, 16. But there’s only six,” He said back. They were welcomed with applause. The captain of the ship came and took ahold of the microphone.
And they bring good news, of a world so newly. Though their hearts so heavily weighed.
“Greetings, friends and family. We thank you for this amazing greeting.” He started. The year was 2339. It had been 100 years since they left. “It’s been a long, hard few month, but we are glad to be home at last.” He spoke his words slowly, but everyone knew it was no few short months. A few hours later, they were released to be with their family. Brian found the family, with his name on the sign. “Brian May?” Harold said, look up at the tall man. He nodded his head. Brian just wanted to see you, though you had been dead for quite sometime now. They figured he would have known that by now. They greeted him with wonderful gifts, foods, everything. “My my, this is all so wonderful, but I’d like to see my wife, (y/n). She should be a few months pregnant, maybe 8 or 9 months?” He said. Harold and Millie looked at each other, sadness filled their eyes. “Come home with us, will get everything sorted out there,” Millie said, quietly. He nodded.
For the earth is old and grey, little darling well away. But my love this cannot be!
As they entered the house, Harold ran to get the book, sitting Brian down at a chair. Over the many years of its existence, it was filled of pictures from previous generations. “I don’t know how to tell you this, so here,” Millie said, handing him the book. “It’s from (y/n). She and her son Harry made this for you before they,” she paused looking down. Brian looked up at them, smiling. “What on earth are you talking about, who’s Harry?” He said. He opened the book, seeing all of the letter you and Harry had written to him. He was quite confused. “I don’t, I don’t understand. These are dated 20, 30, 40 years from now? I’ve only been gone a few months,” he said, looking over the dates. “Oh dear,” Janet said. Everyone looked at him in sorrow. “It’s the year ‘39, 2239, correct?” He said, failing faster through the pages, as he got to the family tree with dates. They were birth and death dates. “‘M afraid not, it’s 2339,” Millie said, holding his hand, trying to calm him. He started to panic as he saw your name.
(Y/f/n)-May: Born 2208-2297
“Oh, God, no,” he whispered. He gently ran his finger over the picture of you and Harry when he was 7.
For so many years are gone, though I’m older but a year, your mothers eyes from your eyes, cry to me.
Brian locked himself in his old bedroom for 3 weeks, reading all of your letters. And then rereading them, taking in all of the pictures that they gave to him. You made it a point to take plenty of pictures of Harry while he was a child, at his wedding, with his first born. Brian was too sad to cry. He only ate once a week, and they were a few crackers. Depressed was an understatement of the way he truly felt.
Don’t you hear my call? Though you’re many years away, don’t you hear me calling you. Write your letters in the sand, for the day I take your hand, in the land that our grandchildren knew.
It had been a month since he got home, and he hadn’t spoken more than a few sentences to anyone. He laid in bed at night, staring at the ceiling. He couldn’t handle it anymore. The sadness he felt.
He grabbed a case, and went to the beach. The same beach you two sat on, 100 years ago. Even though his entire line of family was promised a spot in the newly born world, as was he, he didn’t want it if it weren’t with you. He didn’t want any life without you. He opened the case, and pulled out a gun.
“Brian Harold My Senior took his life in 2339 due to grief of his lost wife, (y/n) May. Loving husband, father, along with many generations of life. Rest easy, Brave Soul.” His tombstone read. His family was heart broken for him. They wished that they could have gotten to know him, but they understood why that couldn’t happen. He didn’t belong here.
Don’t you hear my call, though you’re many years away, don’t you hear me calling you? All your letter in the sand, cannot heal my like your hand, for my life, still ahead, pity me.
In the distance of the sunset funeral, you could see Brian watching from afar. You approach him, taking his hand in yours. He could be shocked, but he knows it’s you. He turns to face you, taking in the same beautiful face that said her goodbyes too soon. “My love,” He said, resting his forehead into yours. “Together at last,” you replied, smiling. A single tear rolled down his face. “There’s no life I would want to live if it meant I couldn’t see you,” He said. You kissed him once more, deepening the kiss. “Would you like to meet your son?” You asked him. He nodded smiling. “You can meet him, if you’re ready,” you said, holding his hand. He nodded his head again. You both knew you mean if he was ready to cross over and be with you and your all’s child again. You smiled again, walking towards the sky, the clouds seeming to part for the two of you.
Millie, Harold, Janet, and Harold’s new daughter looked up. “To the most beautiful love story anyone will ever know,” Harold said, Brian forever resting next to you underneath a tree.

The Intern - Part II
PART I
ABOUT: Y/N, a young, intern who gets quite the opportunity.
WORDS: 1200
WARNINGS: Sexual tension, a gross old professor who makes the reader uncomfy!
A/N: I hope you guys like this new series! If you have any ideas for it, please, fill free to ask! Also, sorry for it being so short. Next part will be up tomorrow. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to leave me feedback and to ask questions. I want to hear your input.
Tumblr media
A few days had passed, and let me just say, I definitely got settled in. The boys had been hammering out songs left and right. Everyone seemed to be having ideas for everything, hell I even gave my input. The only person who couldn’t think of anything was Roger.
He would sit on the couch in the studio sulking or pouting like a little girl, snapping at people left and right. He laid down his drum tracks of course and the occasional harmony, but when it came to lyrics, he was at a complete loss.
“This is bollocks!” Roger screams, kicking the door on his way out of the studio.
“I’m sure you’ll be able to think of something,” I add.
He sighs and sinks down on the wall of the studio, pulling out a cigarette and lighting it.
“What if I don’t?” He asks, looking a little defeated.
I bit my tongue for a moment, trying to figure out what to say. Of course, he would, but he’s going through writer's block, I just don't want to worry him.
“But you will,” I state, sitting down next to him, pulling the cigarette from his lips and taking a drag. “There really is nothing to worry about Rog, you’ll get it! You just have to wait for the inspiration to come.”
He sighed again, pulling another cigarette from his pack.
“You can keep that one,” He added, winking.
I took a deep breath, thinking about the past week.
The Professor’s advances had grown tiring, and it had only been just a few days. He’d constantly touch me, whether it be placing his hands at my hips, or coming up behind me as I was bent over. My level of comfort was sliding downhill quick.
“Y/L/N,” You heard, “I need to borrow you for a moment.”
You didn’t even have to turn around to know who it was. So, sighing again, you dropped your cigarette to the ground and smashed it out with the heel of your boot.
“Coming,” You huffed, walking inside.
“What, no goodbye?” Roger teased, smiling up at you.
You stared back at him, a smile creeping onto your face as well.
“Y/L/N, I haven’t got all day!”
And with that you ran inside, leaving Roger alone with his cigarette.
You were conjuring up quite the sweat as you leaned against the record paneling, a cigarette hanging down between your fingers.
“How was that?” Brian questioned, standing behind the mic in the booth.
You looked up at Freddie, he has his fingers on his chin in thought.
“Well It’s your track darling, you tell me how it was.”
You smiled and leaned into the microphone to speak.
“You want me to play it back?” You asked.
Brian smiled and nodded his head, pulling a chair over for him to sit on.
And so you pressed play and then came Brain's vocals singing;
“In the year of '39 assembled here the volunteers
In the days when lands were few
Here the ship sailed out into the blue and sunny morn
The sweetest sight ever seen”
You cut it and looked over to him, he looked as if he was deep in thought as well.
“How was that?” You asked him, cocking up an eyebrow.
“Maybe I should stick to playing guitar?” He winked, pushing his chair away from him.
Brian began walking out of the studio.
“Don’t you want to hear the rest?” You pondered, watching him untangle himself from the numerous amounts of wires which were wrapped around him.
“Not really, if I’m being honest,” he laughed. “Where’s Roger?”
You turned around to look for him, only to see him slumped on the couch, sound asleep.
“Think he’s taking a beauty nap,” You answered. “Want me to wake him?”
“Please,” Brian replied, finally making his way out of the booth.
You looked over at Roger, he truly was taking a beauty nap. He looked so soft and so much less like Roger as he slept. He looked peaceful and unstressed. He also wasn’t talking which was a plus for you.
You were so distracted by him you almost missed Freddie dumping a glass of water on him.
“Fuck,” Roger spat, shooting up from the couch. “What the fuck, Fred?”
Everyone in the room burst into a cackling mess as we watched Roger stumble up and begin to shake out his hair like a wet dog.
“Well drama queen,” Brian giggled, “time to get this show on the road.”
“Is he singing now?” Freddie asked, throwing a towel at Roger.
“Seems he is,” Said Brian, flopping down to where Roger sat before.
Roger looked at Brian with furrowed brows, throwing his towel across the room.
“Since when?” Roger asked, leaning next to you on the paneling.
“Since now, don’t worry, I’ll guide you through it.”
Freddie laughed as Roger rolled his eyes, pushing himself off the panel and into the studio.
“It seems we're being blessed with Mr. Taylor’s angelic falsetto.” Freddie sings, winking at you.
“Angelic falsetto,” You quipped. “Since when?”
“Since forever.” Deaky finished, now taking a seat next to Brian.
And so you sat in awe watching Roger belt the most beautiful sounds you’ve ever heard come from a living creature. Your eyes seemed to paint his face, looking at every vein and every crinkle, admiring him from behind a sheet of glass. So, after what felt like hours, he finished ;).
He was covered in a sheen of sweat when he walked out of the booth, glistening like an angel dipped in honey, that now you realized, you really wanted to lick off. And at that moment, you thought about just how badly you wanted to make sweet, sweet love to this beautiful man.
Walking with the boys out of the studio, you had almost forgotten your Professor had left to run errands. It was nice without him there, no pressure, and no discomfort.
You looked out at the sky and started to stretch, you hadn’t stood up in a while and Lord knows, after what you just saw, stretching is something you desperately needed.
“So,” Roger started, “Who wants some food.”
“Me,” You almost yelled, startling the boys.
“Christ, someone’s hungry,” Deaky said, poking your stomach as he passed you and into the house.
The other boys followed suit, along with Roger who looked physically drained.
You turned the opposite way though, pulling your car keys from your pocket and walking towards your car.
“Oi,” Roger yelled from the door. “Where do you think you’re going?”
“Out!” You replied.
“Out?” He asked. “Out where?”
“I drove past a pub on the way here and I’m just dying for some chips!” You scream back, turning the corner.
As you were opening the door to your car you heard footsteps pounding against the graveled drive. Turning around, the boys stood there catching their breath as they walked towards you.
“We're coming too,” Said Brian, hopping into the passenger's seat. “Nice car by the way.”
“Thanks,” You smiled, sliding into the driver's seat.
“Yeah,” Roger said, just above a whisper. “A really nice car.”
