sometimes i think im not fully masc and i rather fall into the nonbinary area, something truly neutral, and that a full transition to male isnt for me so if its unattainable because of this country/gov, i will live, but its always because im too comfortable. everytime im faced with being deadnamed, especially in situations where it couldve been prevented, or forced to present as a woman or more feminine in public for any reason (legal in most cases), i always realize how fucking dreadful it is. it also made me understand it a bit more when transmascs and trans men sometimes end up dressing more stereotypically feminine, its definitely the freedom and comfort, at least for me now. (not to mention the whole thing about it being "progressive" when cis men do it..) it feels like once i legally transition i wouldnt mind to be caught in such situations as theres something backing it (aka i can confidently say my name etc), and with dressing up a certain way too (even though now im aiming for a more masc look, i still dress like an emo fag which is "girly" in peoples eyes lmao) but the whole thing about not feeling super set on 100% masculinity comes from the fact that im comfy enough and people closest to me see and address me as such (or at least pretend well enough lol) so i dont have to force anything or try too hard to achieve something, prove myself to them etc. in a way, now that i work from home and mostly talk to ppl online, it created a "bubble" for me, which feels safer but isnt reality. but yeah my ultimate end goal rn is get thru the legal changes finally, present male locally and legally, but more masc/nb online and with the people that get it
#i call it the controlled feminity lol#i mostly wanted a deeper voice and it truly helped me gain some confidence which im happy about#but without a legal name change im still stuck with way too many uncomfortable situations#thoughts are being thunk#got a call from someone no context but my transdar was going off. sadly he was deadnaming me as it was a legal situation#further communication proved i was correct. so it feels even worse being deadnamed by someone like that#in this case couldnt be prevented. not angry at them or anything. just made me realize how it makes me feel

I feel like a baby and really fucking stupid and angry.
So heres the deal:
At work on Sunday one of my kids threw a bottle at my face then went into his room and started screaming and pounding. I heard him pound on his window. So, we do therapeutic holds at my work for aggressive kids- to protect them or us. Hitting a window? A fucking hold because jesus fucking christ if that breaks? Holy shit I dont want to be there
I told him if he does it again hes going in a hold
So a bit later, I heard it. I told my coworker (the one Ive been having issues with and who is now my supervisor). She wanted to see it “reverberate” from the outside or whatever the fuck? To be sure or whatever? Never mind you can hear the fucking sound of it.
So she told me she saw it (i didnt hear it but whatever). So okay, that means hold. I go in and- Im alone. Shes in the doorway blocking it so my coworker cant get in. Im alone, halfway into the room, with a kid screaming curses at me and hitting the wall so hard the room shakes.
Literally an arms reach away.
And she didnt fucking come in. Nor did she allow my coworkers in. AND YOU KNOW WHAT? I COULDNT GET OUT EITHER.
And then she just didnt? Didnt say literally anything, mention a hold, whatever? So made an absolute fool of me right fucking in there. This kid knows he can attack me and its fine. Every issue Ive had with this kid has been because of her.
I was so stressed out I was trying not to cry.
Look I know it can sound overeager when I say can I put this kid in a hold when he hits his hands on the door or window.
But you know what? I have responded to enough emergencies in my life and I DONT WANT TO SEE THAT. Also, if he breaks his fucking hand? They tell me its a “natural consequence” of hitting a solid core wood door. ARE YOU SERIOUS? THIS IS A DEVELOPMENTALLY DELAYED CHILD WHO DOES NOT UNDERSTAND AND IS IN AN EMOTIONAL RAGE AND CANT MAKE BETTER CHOICES, WE MUST ENSURE HIS SAFETY.
so anyway, does anyone know if thats grounds for me to call CPS to report that statement my coworker said? “Well if he breaks his hand (when we could prevent it, as is our job), thats a natural consequence”
Also Im arranging to have my schedule changed to not work with her, now I just need to message my managers to tell them about it and tell them the stupid situation.
But unfortunately, I fucked up. I vented to my coworker who wasnt on shift that day and isnt highly regarded by the managers. For good reason, but if theres anything, I trust him to help me and have my back in a dangerous situation. We both noticed lately shes been really messing with our safety in behaviors so I vented it out to him what happened
And he messaged everybody cussing and complaining about how unfair everything is
So he really fucked my case up.
Damn it!
But maybe I can salvage it tomorrow.

I'm like the sun.
I did not have a dream about Malcolm that resulted in this story.
Trigger Warning: Guns, near-death experiences, robbers, and a hold-up.

---------------------------------------------------
It was like (Y/N) had fallen through a crack in time. She was numb, both physically and emotionally. Malcolm was breaking up with her, and all she could feel was her own heartbeat.
They were standing in Malcolm's apartment, by his bed. The moonlight shown through the window and gave the entire scene an ethereal glow. Malcolm's right hand began to shake terribly, but (Y/N) didn't try to hold it like she always did. He would have to stop the tremors on his own now. He clenched his hand into a tight fist, took a deep breath, and looked her in the eyes. "I know we've talked about my problems - my dad, my night terrors, my PTSD. And I know you said you were ok with all of them, but I can't keep putting you through this. It's not right."
(Y/N) had remained silent until this point, but she spoke low and soft. "You aren't putting me through anything, Malcolm. We're a team, and I can help you with your problems. I want to help you with your problems, and you know that."
"But it's not that simple." Malcolm began to raise his voice as he stepped to the side, looking at the floor in front of him. He had brought his right hand up and swung it down as he spoke, showing his frustration. He turned back towards her, keeping himself from pacing. "I'm like the sun. If you get too close, you'll get burned and you can never come back from that."
"I'm not Icarus, Malcolm." (Y/N) was quick and curt with her response.
Malcolm got an almost desperate look in his eyes as his motions became more erratic, like those of a person on the brink of falling apart. "But you are, (Y/N), you are! If you stay with me, you'll get hurt. Whether it's from me, or my father, or both..." He stopped to take a breath and when he continued, his voice was much quieter. "I don't want to see you get hurt. So you can't be with me anymore. I'm sorry, but it's for your own good."
(Y/N) wanted to fight back, to prove that she wouldn't get hurt and could help him withstand anything that came his way. But his mind was made up, and she knew how difficult it would be to change it. Sometimes, when someone is this adamant about leaving you, you have to let them go.
She still felt numb when she spoke. "Are you sure this is what you want?"
Hand trembling again, Malcolm closed it into a fist as he looked at the ground. He couldn't bear to look at her anymore because he knew he was causing pain now, even as he was trying to prevent it. His voice was soft. "Yes."
She turned on her heels and began to go down the stairs. Without looking back, she spoke her last words. They were cold and unfeeling, much like her heart was now. "Goodbye, Malcolm."
***
It had been about a week since Malcolm broke up with (Y/N). She cried for the first couple of days while she both hoped he would ask her to come back, and grieved the loss of their relationship. But it had become clear after a week that he didn't want her anymore and she needed to move on.
To take her mind off of things, she decided to take herself out to dinner at her favorite restaurant. She thought of it as going on a date with herself, kind of like hitting the factory reset button on her computer, to get Malcolm off of her mind.
(Y/N) picked out one of her favorite dreses, a cream colored dress with a Sabrina neckline and layers of material on the bottom, making it heavy. She was never quite sure why she liked the weight of the dress, but she did. She complemented the dress with nude heels and long, dangling silver earrings. Her hair was done in loose curls, and the shades of her make up were reserved but they accentuated her features. After dressing herself, she gazed into the mirror. The last time she got this dressed up, she was going on a date with Malcolm. She tried to push that thought out of her mind as she gathered her purse and coat.
(Y/N) arrived at the restaurant and checked in with the host. The restaurant was beautiful and clearly very expensive. The kind of expensive that requires tablecloths and centerpieces. But (Y/N) wanted to treat herself, so here she was, dining at one of the more expensive restaurants in New York.
She didn't have to wait long before she was seated, but as she was pulling out her chair and the waitress walked away, there was an eruptive gunshot. Everyone in the restaurant ducked under their tables and screamed. (Y/N) ducked, but didn't crawl under the table like everyone else. She started looking for the gunman.
There were two men dressed in all black with ski masks on, standing at opposite ends of the dining room. One stood in front of (Y/N), and the other behind her by a considerable distance. They both had guns drawn and were holding what appeared to be pillow cases. The man in front of (Y/N) spoke.
"Give us everything and no one gets hurt! Your money, your jewelry, your watches, everything!!"
She had to commend them on their plan. Going to an incredibly expensive restaurant to rob people? That was pretty smart, but not smart enough.
(Y/N) wasn't scared. The adrenaline saw to that. But she was a little angry because they ruined a perfectly good night out. She decided to take a chance and try to distract them until help arrived.
She stood up tall, now the only person beside the robbers that was standing. Her voice filled the room to overshadow the cries and hysterics of the other diners. "Fucking excuse me?"
The man behind her said nothing, so (Y/N) assumed the man in front of her was the one in charge. She started to slowly inch towards him as she spoke. "The ONE night I get to myself, you show up. You couldn't have picked ANY other night." The man she was slowly approaching was shocked and silent while she spoke, but he regained his composure. He thrust the gun in her direction and yelled at the top of his lungs.
"Stay back!! Just give me your money and no one gets hurt!!"
"Odd, how am I supposed to stay back and give you my money?" (Y/N) continued to inch closer to him. If she could distract him long enough to get close...
"Stop talking!!" She was close enough to see the anger in his eyes.
"Ok, ok, look." She put one hand up in a calming manner and reached with the other one behind her, feigning a reach for a purse she wasn't wearing. If she charged at him, maybe she could grab a hold of the gun. But she only had a split second because of the man behind her. (Y/N) couldn't remember anymore if he had a gun.
"I'll give you my money. Here." She took this opportunity to take a few larger steps, as if she were going to hand him her wallet. He faltered for the smallest of moments, and it was her opportunity.
(Y/N) leapt forward, grabbing the gun in one hand as she placed the other on his opposite shoulder. She pulled him towards herself and kneed him in the stomach as he fired the gun. But the pain from her kick made him loosen his grip on the gun and (Y/N) was able to take it from him. Just as she was rearing back to pistol whip him, there were two pops. She felt sudden, intense pain behind her left shoulder blade and on the right side of her lower back. But she followed through with her strike on the man in front of her and he went unconscious immediately. (Y/N) turned around to face the second masked man, who apparently did have a gun after all. She fought through her pain as she took aim and miraculously shot him square in the forehead.
Now that the threat was over, she took a deep breath and the pain washed over her. She looked down and cupped her right hand over the exit gunshot wound next to her bellybutton before she fell to the ground. She rolled over onto her back as she fell and she dropped the gun beside her. (Y/N) fell deaf as the pain consumed her.
This entire time, she was so hyper-focused on the masked men that she didn't notice Malcolm five tables away. He had ducked under his table like everyone else and was holding Ainsley's hand. She quivered from fright as Malcolm pulled out his phone. He was whispering to Gil when he heard (Y/N)'s voice. Her voice was clear as it rang through the dining room, silencing the cries of all the scared people. His stomach dropped lower than ever before as he realized she was there, and in danger.
He watched silently, peering over the table, as (Y/N) distracted one of the men and slowly walked towards him. All he could do was talk to Gil on the other end of his phone. He couldn't jump up and help her because that would only get her killed. Malcolm had to hold his breath and wait for SWAT to arrive.
Then the fight ensued. It was over in a matter of seconds, but the gunshots that pierced through the air felt like stabs to his heart. He couldnt hold back anymore as he screamed (Y/N)'s name. Ainsley tried to hold him back, afraid for his life, but she failed. As soon as the second gunman was down, he ran to (Y/N).
He got to her after she fell to the ground. Malcolm slid to a stop beside her, crying her name. He shook horribly as he looked all over her, watching the circles of blood staining her cream colored dress grow in size around her wounds. "(Y/N), no...!" He reached up to cup her right cheek with his hand as he cried, heaving with each breath he took.
The pain was immeasurable. Some people could stave it off with their adrenaline, but (Y/N) didn't. It numbed all of her other senses, and she couldn't believe her eyes when Malcolm looked down at her. Dazed, she looked back into his sad eyes and asked, "What are you doing here?"
"Shhh, don't worry about that right now. You're going to be ok." As Malcolm spoke to her, her vision grew black and she passed out. His crying intensified as he stroked her cheek. "No, no, no, no, no...!"
SWAT and the ambulances arrived immediately after she passed out and they were able to take her away to the hospital. Malcolm stood there as the world spun around him, covered in (Y/N)'s blood. Gil made his way through the restaurant and found him after the place was cleared by SWAT. He reached out and placed a gentle hand on Malcolm's shoulder. "Bright, are you ok?"
Malcolm slowly shook his head, tears still streaming down his face. "She's dying, Gil. And I can't stop it. I couldn't stop it."
"I know, but you're right. There's nothing you can do, except clean yourself up and wait for her to wake up." Malcolm didn't register Gil's words until Gil gave his shoulder a small shake. Malcolm looked to the floor as he wiped the tears away from one of his cheeks and gulped.
(Y/N) felt... warm, and... tight? She squeezed her eyes shut even farther as she furrowed her brow. Yes, tight was the right word. There was something pressed against her stomach, her back, her left shoulder, and her chest. But what was it? And what was that beeping sound?
She opened her eyes, but the room was spinning. She closed them before she got nauseous, but she needed to see what was so tight.
(Y/N) tried to open her eyes again and succeeded this time. She was in a strange room, and as she tried to sit up to look down at herself, she was met with great pain. That's when she remembered the robbers and the restaurant, and then the gunshots. Then she recognized the beeping; she was in a hospital.
Sitting up farther than the hospital bed already had her was out of the question. She started to look around the room when she heard her name from a familiar voice.
"(Y/N)?"
She looked over to her left to see Malcolm, sitting in a chair inches away from her bed. His face was puffy and his eyes were red. He had been crying.
"Malcolm?"
"(Y/N)!" Malcolm smiled as he let out the breath he had been holding this whole time. Tears threatened to fall from his eyes as he reached out to hold her left hand in both of his. "You're awake."
"Is everyone alright? No one got hurt?" Even as she lay wounded, she worried about everyone else at the restaurant.
"They're all fine, thanks to you." Malcolm was beaming at her, happy that she was alive.
Then it hit her, the question he had not answered before. "Malcolm, what were you doing there?"
"Don't you remember?" He let out a little laugh. "It's my favorite restaurant, too."
"Oh..." She had forgotten.
There was a few seconds of silence as Malcolm's smile began to fall. He looked down at the hand he was holding and spoke with his voice low. "I thought I was protecting you when I pushed you away. I thought that someday I would hurt you because I'm broken, and I wanted to stop that from happening."
(Y/N) couldn't help but interrupt him, her voice soothing. "Malcolm, you're not broken."
"But I am. I am broken." He looked back up into her eyes as he began to cry. "And it took almost losing you to finally see that I was only protecting myself. Because I thought that I was too broken to deserve to love someone."
He gripped her hand tightly in his as he choked out his next words. "I love you, (Y/N)."
Time stopped when he broke up with her, and it started again with those final words. Her world was born anew as she gazed into those brilliantly blue eyes and saw the love he held for her there. Now it was her turn to cry.
As her tears fell, she cupped his cheek in her right hand. "I love you, too, Malcolm."
He brought one of his hands up to hold hers against his face and he broke out into a wide smile. All he hoped for now was to hear those words from her over and over again for the rest of his life.

I’m Having Your Baby || Hudrose
Who: Marley Rose & @longhornhudson
Where: Marley’s dorm room
When: April 19th, 2020
Notes: After waiting all weekend, Marley tells Finn she’s pregnant with his child.
MARLEY
Marley was so scared and emotional and had been all weekend. She was a mess and even had to leave the fair early to just get some relief. But now she was going to tell Finn, her roommate's boyfriend, that she was pregnant with his child. She still couldn't believe this was happening and she waited as long as she could, but it was time. She had to tell him. It was what was right. However, it made her feel sick and she like she may pass out.
When he texted that he was there, she texted him back before going and buzzing him in. She paced the common area nervously and tried to plan what exactly she was going to say. Was she just going to blurt it out? Would she ease into it? She had no idea. The only thing she could think of how much she felt responsible for the whole thing and she wouldn't blame him if he didn't want to see her or be part of the baby's life. What if that's what he wanted? She would be alone. No. She had to stop thinking about all this. Now wasn't the time. The knock on the door made her jump and she took a breath before going over and opening it. "Hey, Finn." She said and forced a smile.
FINN
Finn had no idea what could be bothering Marley but after not seeing her at all during the festival, he wondered if it had anything to do with the weird guy who had sent her lingerie. He was still weirded out by that but it was her life, her situation to handle and according to her, it had been taken care of. This time though, it felt different. She had mentioned being scared so he had no idea what to expect walking into her room. Did he threaten her? Did he... Finn didn't want to think about that. It was too horrible and with Rachel as a roommate, he would have never gotten close enough to try anything. Still, Finn's heart was racing the entire trip to her building.
After she buzzed him in, he wasted no time in ascending the stairs to her room, stopping for a second to catch his breath. What was he going to walk into? What kind of mood was she going to be in? Not that it mattered but he liked to be prepared in case they broke down. He walked a few feet down to her door and gently knocked, shoving his hands in his pockets just as she opened the door. "Hey Marls." He said, his voice low but soothing as he walked passed her and into her room.
MARLEY
Seeing him for the first time since she found out was harder than she imagined. She hated having information that was going to change his life and him knowing nothing. It was like watching a horror film and knowing the person was going to die and still seeing how clueless and innocent they were. Was she comparing herself to a horror movie killer? Yes. She was. That really was something at this point. She closed the main down and followed him into her room.
She closed that door too and took a breath before looking at the man in the room. "I... I have no idea how to, um, tell you this." She almost whispered while she played with her hair nervously. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you, um, sooner. I just... I... I wanted you to have a good weekend. I couldn't ruin that for you. Or Rachel. You two deserved the happiness." She felt tears build up and she took a breath to try to calm herself down.
FINN
Finn had no idea what was going on but seeing Marley so upset made his stomach churn. Whatever was going on with her, he knew it wasn't good. Was she leaving UT? Head something happened in her personal life and she heard to go? The mere thought of that hurt the jock more than he cared to admit. He wanted to hug her, wanted to tell her that everything would be fine but he couldn't. Especially since he heard no clue as to what was bothering her.
Hearing the normally articulate woman speak with a stutter had him more concerned and he moved closer, sitting down on the bed in front of her. "Marley you're scaring me. Is everything okay? You're not, that man didn't find you did he?" He asked, instinctively grabbing for her hand. "You can tell me. I'm here to help. I don't like seeing you like this." He said, his voice filled with concern. "You're not leaving are you?"
MARLEY
Her lip was quivering. She was trying so hard to remain calm in some way, but it wasn't happening. And when he took her hand, it all just released. She started crying and she listened to him ask her questions. All she could do for a moment was shake her head as she forced herself to calm down. She had to tell him. She had to talk.
"No. He... he didn't." She shook her head and squeezed his hand. "I don't know if I am. I mean, it depends I guess, but that's not it." She swallowed and looked down into his eyes. "I don't want you to hate me. I don't want to ruin anything for you or for Rachel. So, please don't think you have to do anything, okay?" She bit her lip before finally just saying the words she had dreaded saying. "I'm pregnant, Finn." Her free hand touched her stomach softly. "We... we're having a baby."
FINN
Finn didn't like this. The unknowing was driving him crazy and he kind of wished she would just come out with it. But then he immediately hated that because it was clear to him that Marley was upset by it and that it was something that was obviously upsetting. As soon as the tears fell from her, he closed the distance and wrapped his arms around her. Whatever she was going through, he would be there to help. He couldnt, and wouldn't, let her handle it alone. Perhaps if the jock had stopped thinking about it for a second, he might have put the pieces together but he didn't.
Hearing her explanations, his brow furrowed, a number of things running through his mind. "Hate you? Ruin my... Marley what are you..." He trailed off, biting his lip as a look of confusion clearly evident on his face. He had no idea what she was talking about, unless it was her confessing to her being in love with him but he doubted that was it. He was about to speak again when her words finally registered. Pregnant. She was pregnant. And he was... no. "Preg... pregnant? Are... are you sure?"
MARLEY
She hated this. She hated being held by him while he didn't know. She hated that it comforted her. And she hated the confusion on his face while he was still trying so hard to figure out what was making her upset. She was ruining everything and she felt it, but he had to know. It was now part of both of their lives and it was just gonna get bigger.
She met his eyes and more tears ran down her cheeks. "Yeah." She said as she just trembled. "I... I took several tests." She moved from him and grabbed the box from under the bed to get them so he could see. She opened the lid and sat the box on the bed. "They're all positive. There's no doubt." She stared at the floor. "And you're the only one... in case you may have thought..." She couldn't finish the sentences. She just played with her hands nervously while holding back her emotions. "I'm sorry."
FINN
Finn hated seeing her like this. In the short time they'd known each other, he had grown fond of the brunette and knowing that something was bothering her enough to bring her to tears broke his heart. "Shh, its going to be okay Marley. I promise. Whatever is bothering you, we can work it out." He said, rubbing her back as he held her.
He couldn't speak for a moment, his mind trying to grasp her words. Pregnant. Tests didn't lie and there were like ten of them "Fuck." He said, his voice low as he grabbed several from the box. Seeing the little plus signs and then the final testament to their predicament was clearly spelled out in all caps. "I usually have some nice words or something but I have no idea what to say right now." He said, looking over at her and biting his lip. He shook his head at her words, grabbing her hand. "I would never think that. Not to say that if you had I would be in denial but uh, yeah, you sleeping with someone else never crossed my mind." He said, turning to look at her. "Why are you sorry? This is my fault... I should have been more careful. I should have..." He trailed off, rubbing the back of his neck.
MARLEY
He was being too nice to her. After all, she had something that was changing everything growing inside her. And yet, she just gripped his shirt tight and cried into him for a moment. She just needed that comfort for as long as she could it.
Marley watched as he looked over the tests. Their fate had been sealed in those stupid plastic sticks. "You don't have to say anything." She swallowed and was honestly surprised that he even took her hand. She was so scared of what he was going to say. How he was going to react. Blaming himself hadn't crossed her mind, but then again, she was only thinking the worst about herself. "Its not your fault." She argued. "I could've prevented this and I didn't." She finally met his eyes again. "I just didn't think about it." She clenched her jaw as she held herself together.
FINN
Holding her in his arms felt different now. Now that he knew there was a baby, their baby, growing inside her belly. He caught his eyes glancing down where her hand was sitting and instead of feeling like scared or angry, he felt a small smile upturn on his lips. He wasn't ready for this, not by a long shot, but he would be lying if he said he wasn't okay with this.
"No, I... I do." He said, looking down at her. He knew he should say something but the words didn't come. He knew what he should do but could he step up to the plate? Could he be a father? Could he teach a child the ways of the world? Would they inherit all of his bad habits and insecurities? It was still early but he was scared. Petrified actually and had no idea how to do this. "Hey, no, this is on me. You wouldn't be here if I hadn't invited you back to my room... if I hadn't suggested we drink... I should have been more responsible." He said, shifting his weight so that he was facing her. "I am going to support whatever you want to do but if you decide you want to do this, I am going to be there. Every step of the way. Doctor's appointments, birthing classes, whatever it is, I'll be there."
MARLEY
For the first time that weekend, she didn't feel like everything was falling apart. Being held by him felt safe. Like they would get through this together. For a moment, she closed her eyes and just relaxed into him. She really needed this.
Marley didn't say anything as he said he should say something and then didn't. She knew it was hard to process. They were going to be parents and that was a hard thing to get used to so quickly. Before they knew it, there was going to be a little baby that was the perfect mix of them both out in the world who would need them for everything. Who already did. "I could've said no. To any of it. It's not your fault." She said and shook her head before looking up at him. "I want to keep the baby, if that's what we're talking about. I know we're young, but I couldn't think of anything else." She rubbed her stomach. "I... I've always wanted to be a mom." She swallowed. "You don't have to be if you don't want to. You don't have to be part of his or hers life. If... If that's something you don't want. I'm not going to force you into this. I just needed you to know."
FINN
Finn hadn't really had time to process the information before he was speaking up. Not that taking a day to really accept that it was happening would have changed his mind. He knew what it was like to grow up without a father and he refused to do that to his child. It wasn't an ideal situation, he was only twenty two and had so much that he wanted to do but now, it was all sort of derailed. Not that it wouldn't get back on track, they had nine months to figure out how to do that but hearing her say that she wanted to keep it had him nodding his head.
"We're both at fault. We let alcohol and our emotions get the better of us and now we find ourselves in this situation. Its, uh, I had hoped to be a bit older and much more mature before bringing a kid into the mix but I mean, it is what it is." He started, looking over at Marley with a small smile. "I know abortion is sort of a mixed bag and of course, I'm not going to ever suggest that because I'm not an asshole but I would support you if that was something you wanted. But I'm really glad you're not." The jock added, looking up at her when she said he didn't have to be there. "See that's where you're wrong. I do have to be here. I'm not going to let you do this alone. We got into this situation and we're seeing it through to the end. I want to be there, I want to do this with you."
MARLEY
She was actually relieved that he said he wanted to be here for her. That he was glad she didn't want to get rid of their child. It made the voice in her head start to calm down. The one that was telling her she was going to be alone in all this. And yet, she was still scared for what was going to come.
"I know. I wasn't trying or thinking right now was ideal, but it's something I wanted in the future." Marley took a deep breath and rubbed her forehead for a moment. "i couldn't think of doing that. It never crossed my mind. The second the positive sign came up, all I thought was taking care of it." She looked into his eyes. "Okay. I just... I didn't want you to think I expected it. I know you have plans for your life. I don't want to ruin anything for you." She explained to him. "I appreciate you wanting to do this."April 21, 2020
FINN
"Yeah me too. I always thought having a kid, teaching them things, would be kinda cool. I just didn't expect it to be when I was twenty two." He said, smiling softly. He continued to hold her in his arms, she needing comforting more than he did in this moment. She was the one doing all the work, she was the one who's body would change, she would get stared at, and laughed at, while Finn would be congratulated and high fived for 'knocking up a babe'. He hated that, hated the standards that existed but he told himself he wouldn't let her deal with any part of it alone. "You don't strike me as the type to do that but I just wanted to put it out there anyway." He stated, kissing her temple. "You don't have to thank me, and you're not ruining anything. We just need time to process everything before we tell people." He knew telling Rachel was going to be the hardest but he just hoped that it wouldn't be the end for them.
MARLEY
Marley nodded and just held herself against him. "I know. I didn't expect this either." She said softly. Him holding her was definitely making her feel a little better. She finally didn't feel alone. "At least we agree on what to do." She commented and kind of leaned in as he kissed her temple. God was she really aching to be touched and comforted. "But what about Rachel?" She asked as she looked up at him. "You and her just got together and we're best friends. I... I can't keep lying to her. I did all weekend." She bit her lip. Her mom she didn't worry about. Everyone else she didn't. It was Rachel and the possibility that she would wreck a good thing.
FINN
"If someone had told me in high school that I would be a father at twenty two, I would have laughed. And yet, here we are." He frowned, running a hand through his hair. "Yes. We're having a baby. Its going to be so fucking hard to do this, but between you and I, this baby will want for nothing." He answered, squeezing her hand, her next words giving him a brief pause. "Rachel... she needs to know. But I'm... we... we're not ready. We need to take some time and just think about everything. I will tell her when I'm ready and deal with the consequences, whatever they might be. I know I like her, and that she likes me, but if this is something she can't forgive or deal with, then I'm prepared to let her go. Because she deserves happiness and that might not be with my anymore."
MARLEY
"I know." She said softly and took a deep breath. She listened to him talk and she squeezed his hand back. "He or she is going to have a good life." She agreed and stared up at him while he talked about Rachel. "I know we need to think, but I was going to tell her tonight." She took a deep breath. "I'll just act like I'm sleeping when she gets here. I just don't know how long I can keep this from her." She bit her lip. "I'm sorry. I should've told you before you guys decided to be a couple. I... I didn't want to ruin your weekend. Her weekend. You were both excited." She clenched her jaw. "I'm sorry."
FINN
With this news, Finn knew he had to grow up faster than he expected. Had to pick a major so that he could start working immediately to support his kid. He needed to find a job now just in case but he wasn't good at anything. And with football winding down, he would have a lot of time. Looking over at her, he kept shaking his head, biting the inside of his lip. "Please stop blaming yourself and saying sorry. It might feel like the end of the world right now but I promise you it isn't. If anyone could handle bringing a baby into this world, its us." He chuckled, squeezing her hand. "You didn't ruin anything and Rachel and I are strong. We'll figure this out." He needed her to believe him, even if he had his doubts.
MARLEY
She took a deep breath and nodded. She really needed to stop that. Marley just felt bad for this. "I know it's not. And we can do this." She mainly told herself and squeezed his hand back. "Okay." She looked up at him. "Thank you for... coming. Understanding. I don't know." She shook her head. "Its been a long weekend. I couldn't really sleep." She said as she sat down on the bed.
FINN
"Thank you for telling me in person. I've never gotten news like this before but I have been broken up with through text so, you know, thanks." He sighed, rubbing her arm softly. "Well I don't know how much more of my face you can handle but I kind of don't want to be alone right now so I can stay until you fall asleep." He offered, sliding up the bed and patting the space next to him. When she crawled up to him, he wrapped his arms around her and scooted down so they were holding each other. "There is a name I've always liked and maybe we can name our kid that." He chuckled, his arms holding her tighter as he finally let a few tears fall from his own eyes.
MARLEY
She nodded and looked at him. "I wouldn't have told you any other way. I'm not like that." Marley assured him and smiled softly. "That sounds nice. You can stay for however long you want to." She cuddled into his arms and just pressed her body into him. She was surprised to hear he had a name, but wanted to hear it. "Yeah? What is it?" She asked before seeing his tears. She moved a hand to wipe his cheeks and took a breath. "We'll get through this."
FINN
"I know you aren't. Kurt always told me that I would be the first in the family to get someone pregnant. I got mad at him but now I realize with him being gay, that that sentiment is true so..." He laughed, shaking his head. "I don't want to scare Rachel when she gets back so I'll stay until you fall asleep and then I'll head back to my room." He offered, wrapping his arms tighter around her. "Drizzle. You know like everyone hates rain but when there's a light drizzle falling down, it feels good and you can still get work done." The jock laughed, his nose crinkling. When her hand came up to wipe his tears, he smiled. "We will. We're stronger than we think, with an amazing support system, so if anyone can do this, its you and me."
MARLEY
"As an only child, I guess getting pregnant first was always inevitable." She shrugged, trying to joke around as well. They needed to start being happier. Things were too complicated to not find some relief. "Okay. That's fine with me." She took a deep breath before pulling back and looking at him because of the name. "I know what a drizzle is." She tried to focus on him to see if he was joking. "Please tell me this isn't real." Marley's hand lingered on his cheek and then moved away. "It is. We're going to be fine." She agreed.
FINN
He laughed at her words and nodded, shrugging his shoulders. "I'm just kidding you Marls. I wouldn't want our poor kid to be named after rain because that is depressing. I'm sure whatever we pick is going to be one worthy of him or her." He added, resting his head on the pillow. He could smell her shampoo and it took him back to the night they shared and how good it had felt.. .what he could remember of it, and he smiled. The room fell silent and it wasn't until he heard her even and soft breathing that he carefully wiggled himself free and left her to rest. He had no idea what to do now but he was scared.

nct 127 reacts: having a really big fight with their s/o in front of their members
Requested: nct 127’s reaction to having a really big fight with s/o? and in front of the members? i love angst xD
Genre: Angst and in some cases Fluff
Warnings: Fighting
A/n: So for some of them I don’t think I made it angsty? Like it some cases they make up and in others they don’t; so if you don’t like that then you can send another ask and I’ll fix it!!
T a e i l
Taeil fiddled with the straps of his bag, his members all stared at him with wide eyes. “Uh Taeil,,,that was uncalled for,” Yuta said, staring at the door of which you had just run out of. You and Taeil got into a heavy fight infront of his members, he really didn’t know why but in the heat of the moment he said he was breaking up with you. Now he was really regretting it because he really really loved you. He wiped some hot tears from his cheeks and glanced at his members “Pitful, I know. Guys what do I do I really messed up?” He asked feeling completely hopeless. “Apologize, Y/n was in the right. Tell Y/n how much you love them, you just dumped them so how are they supposed to know you’re telling the truth?” Johnny replied
T a e y o n g
Taeyong was doing his best to stay calm. He didn’t want to cause a scene with his members around. However there was so much he needed to get off his chest and his manager said he couldn’t leave the room. Your conservation was calm but as the topics changed and you both got more heated you started to yell at eachother. His members sat back with their eyes wide, the tension was so thick that even non of them knew what to do or say. “Hey guys,,,are you okay?” Mark innocently asked despite it being obvious you weren’t. Once his words hit the both you you both were able to calm down and come back to your senses. “I’m sorry babe, I didn’t mean it,” Taeyong said we’re pulling you in for a hug
J o h h n y
What was a peaceful adult conversation with Johnny turned into a obnoxious fight. “I don’t think you understand what I’m trying to say!” You yelled so loud the members could hear. “Hey Johnny,,maybe you should go to a different room if you’re gonna fight,” Yuta said with a sigh. You stopped in your tracks when you heard Yuta words. You had been so caught up in yelling that you didn’t realize how loud and uncivil you were being. Johnny looked straight into Yutas eyes while speaking “There isn’t a need-“ he said before locking eye contact with you “Because like this conversation, we are over.”
Y u t a
It had been 2 days since you got into a bad fight with Yuta. Honestly, you didn’t know what set it off. One minute you were eating lunch with his members and the next Yuta was yelling at you for being to clingy. You two probably would have yelled at eachother for hours if Winwin hadn’t broken it up. You sat on the floor of your apartment and started to cry thinking about Yuta again. Your phone rang, his name popped up brightly. You hesitated to answer but you missed his voice. Before you could even say hello Yutas voice loudly bursted in your ear, his voice was low and scratchy. “I’m so so fuckin sorry I miss you so much please forgive me”
D o y o u n g
“Well maybe if you were around more, you'd notice!” you yelled while packing up your stuff. It wasn't like you to get angry, especially not ignorant of other people. You just really had enough. “Oh really? So you're just gonna use that classic line one me? You knew what you were getting into,” he yelled back making the members cringe. The wet hot tears formed, you turned to face Doyoung one last time “Im breaking up with you. I knew what I was getting into but I thought we agreed that you would still be around when you could,” you opened and slammed the door on him, not giving him a chance to reply. “Are you okay?” Taeyong asked through the silence. Doyoung didnt say anything, instead he opened the door and left to follow after you.
J a e h y u n
Jaehyun and you sat in silence, there had been so much on your mind that you wanted to say but you didn't know how. Jaehyun must have felt the same way, he stopped what he was doing and looked up at you. “Just say it! I know you want to,” be sharp voice caught you off guard. “What am I supposed to say jaehyun, we both are thinking the same thing,” your words came out sharper that you were intending. The members glanced over at you two, not knowing what to expect. “Should we stop it?’ Mark leaned over and whispered in Taeyong sear. Before Taeyong could reply Jaehyun stood up and spoek “Just leave if you're going to act like a bitch.” Everyone including you gasped at his words. ‘If that's what you want,” you quickly stood up and ran out of there so he couldn't see your tears
W i n w i n
You looked between Winwin and his members, of felt like you were being alienated against. “You guys do know Sicheng isn’t the saint you all think he is?” You wiped your tears. “Y/n-“ Taeyong started to say but you cut him off “God Sicheng I really loved you, I really thought we had something,” you said, pushing past him to get out of the door. Sichengs mouth fell open in surprise, that was the first time you ever said I love you to eachother. “Wait, Y/n,” he tired to go after you but Yuta string grip on him prevented him from doing so. “I really don’t think it’s worth it,” Taeyong said with a sight, casually going back to practice. Sicheng wiped the tears from his eyes “I really loved you too, Y/n”
J u n g w o o
You felt your heart shatter with every intake of breath. “I’m not trying to discourage your hard work and I understand that it’s your dream but it just feels like you’re forgetting about me,” you were in hysterics. Jungwoo wiped his tears “Are you sure because it really feels like you only are thinking about yourself,” he let out a deep breath. Haechan unnecessarily piped up and said “I have to agree with Jungwoo on this one, Y/n I think you’re being selfish,” he so casually added. It even caught Jungwoo buy surprise “You think so Haechan? Then fine I guess I’ll be selfish again and make the decision to break up, unnegotiable,” you stared straight into Jungwoos eyes before pushing past him and taking your leave. “Oh shit wait,” Haechan said while watching you leave. Jungwoo turned to face him with red puffy eyes “Haechan what do I do?” He asked, chest shaking with tears. Haechan looked around the room, no one was in sight. “Do I really look like the kind of guy who I has answers? I literally just called them selfish,” Haechan shrugged and then added “But if I were you I’d go after Y/n” once his words left his mouth Jungwoo was gone out the door searching for you
M a r k
“Mark you promised that we would be able to have a date. We haven’t been able to go on a real date for months now,” your voice sounded exasperated. You did your best to hold back your tears, you weren’t mad but you were very sad. Something in Mark snapped, you had never seen him get this angry before. He sighed heavily and dropped his chopsticks “Sometimes promises are broken for a reason. Now if you would please leave me alone and stop being so whiny I’d greatly appreciate it,” he didn’t look at you but instead continued to look at the notebook where he wrote lyrics. You felt your heart shatter, standing up you yelled “You know what Mark Lee, I know I deserve better than this! I have done nothing but bust my ass just so you could be happy and I will not let you walk all over me like this!” You went running out of the room, tears cascading down your cheeks. Marks eye widened as he watched you leave “Go after them,” Johnny said while a shake of his head. He slowly got up, hesitating to follow after you because he realized that he was unnecessarily rude to you
H a e c h a n
Haechan rolled his eyes at you for the 3rd time that night. “Can you stop rolling your eyes at me?” You asked feeling even more upset that he wasn’t taking you seriously. You couldnt hold back, raising your voice you sternly yelled “Can you not be childish for once!” You threw your hands into the air and stomped out of the room. All the members watched as you leave “What happened?” Taeyong asked while moving to where the younger member sat. Haechan looked away and scoffed “Nothing they were just being a bitch and couldn’t take a joke. I want being childish, I knew what they were trying to say, it’s there fault for not listening to me.”

Sam Winchester Appreciation Week - Day 2
Favorite Side Character Interactions With Sam and Dean’s differing personalities, as well as their characters them selves, Sam’s interactions arent as obvious as Dean’s. This isnt because the writers and show runners like Dean/Jensen more than Sam/Jared but because of the actual character. Dean is an extrovert. He’s very social, a hugger, he likes making friends and having people around him all the time. Sam is an introvert and would rather keep people at a safe distance, since their job puts people in danger. However, this doesnt make him unapproachable, or unsympathetic, in fact, he is the better of the 2 in getting witnesses and victims to open up and trust them, because he is very warm, compassionate and non-judgemental. So while his interactions with side characters might not be as up front as Dean’s, He has had some wonderful interactions, and here are some of my favorites.... Sam and Jody. It’s probably because Sam put down Jody’s zombie son when she couldnt, that Jody seems to be drawn to Sam more than Dean. This isnt to say she cares about him more, or anything like that, but to me, its a stronger connection. I like how she established a motherly role with him while Dean was stuck in the 40s with Elliot Ness, and she confided in him about her faith and inner struggles in Rock and a Hard Place, and also became one of the only characters to notice, and point out that Sam and Dean have a very “special” relationship. Without any judement or teasing, she all but “shipped the wincest” really. I realize she was talking about the comfort Sam and Dean have with each other, but the writers really pushed the subtext envelope in that scene, not only with Jody saying “Come on... you and Dean? That’s something pretty special isnt it?” but with Sam’s obvious discomfort with the question. Hehehe it was great! But even most recently, Jody followed Sam in the taking down of the Britts, and killed Dr Hess before she even got aim on Sam. Shes a good woman, she likes Sam, therefore I like her :) Sam and Eileen. I loved this interaction from the very beginning. The writers/directors did a great job with connecting these 2. Sam’s very first interaction wth Eileen, was Sam realizing she may not be able to hear him, and him gently touching her arm. Right away I thought they would get together, and they werent even flirty. They just instantly had a natural chemistry, a good, unintrusive one. She didnt just barrel into Sams life with an obvious hook up intention like his other romantic interests did, this was subtle and natural. In The British Invasion, we got to see that their relationship continued, apparently long distance, over the past year, but again, unintrusively. Though now we could see they were crushing on each other, there was no hint of “sex” cyber or otherwise, that clued us in. It was just simply their interaction. and ... Sam’s dimpled smile :) But alas, they killed her off.. though, this was the first time in a long time that we got to see grief and pain in Sam’s face over the loss of someone besides Dean. He choked it back, and didnt give us a full on emotional melt down, but to me, the way his pain was portayed, was more profound, and harder to deliver, than breaking down in tears. Sam and Mary (Mom) I think everyone expected that Mom would have a stronger connection to Dean than to Sam, because Mom and Dean had an established relationship when she died, and Sam was just 6 months old.The first episode they all really shared together, The Foundry, made this appear to be true as we saw Dean and their Mom already had a lot in common, and Sam took the back seat... literally. But I was pleasently surprized it went the other way. It wasnt all rainbows and sunshine either, but it definitely got me interested. In Mama Mia... they shared an important moment. When Sam brought her Dad’s journal and talked to her about having gotten out, then chosing to come back, and who wasnt deeply moved when Sam told her having her here, filled in the biggest blank? Whether or not I like Mary as a mother, or an actress or whatever, I was intrigued by her and Sam’s interactions. He was understanding and respectful that she needed space, and didnt pass judgement on her when he found out she had been hunting even after Dean was born. It looked like, he may have been angry for a minute, (and maybe he actually was?) but he told her he understood that she just couldnt give it up. However, I thought it may be an indication that Sam might overlook any crap she might pull simply because of who she is, but that wasnt the case either. Sam had serious inner conflict, throughout the whole season, he was very kind and loving, yet it didnt prevent him from calling her out on her bullshit, which made it stand out more. We expect Dean to be vocal and tell you what hes thinking and feeling, but not Sam so much, so in Stuck In The Middle With You, when Sam said “Mom, what the hell have you gotten us into?” I was pretty shocked, and so was she apparently. And even though Dean didnt pull any punches in telling her how bad she hurt them in “The Raid” Sam served the “kill shot” so to speak with “You should go”. Sam’s interaction with Mary was actually one of my favorite parts of S12, mostly because I wasnt sure how he would handle certain situations. Whether or not he was going to bury everything he felt or if he would let loose at some point. I kinda wanted him to let loose, but I have to say, his final line of 12.22 couldnt have been more perfect. “Mom... you dont have to be scared of me” It summed everything up for me. It may or may not get ugly at some point, but its going to be alright. Sam can get past anything! My overall favorite side character interaction with Sam, has to be with Cas. From the moment of their introduction to each other, I was intrigued by this relationship. Cas had to be a little confused though, he had only known Sam as “the boy with the demon blood” and an abomination, and yet, Sam was more than excited to meet him. Their initial handshake had me confused, it was part trusting and friendly, yet, accusing at the same time. Over the seasons though, I liked their interraction. Soft, friendly (with a few hiccups) respectful and personally I like their relationship more than Cas and Deans. I mean seriously, they’ve never beat the hell out of each other.

What are your top five chrollo moments?
-cracks fingers- lets see
btw these arent in any particular order
1.
this entire scene with the mercenary was just so fucking good. for so many reason. we go from seeing chrollo chatting and playing neon like a charming, goofy dork to this cold blooded killer, and its almost jarring? in a sense?? how cold and dispassionate he is killing this man, because you can see that he isnt into it at all. hes not even thinking about it. hes busy considering all hes learned about uvo’s death and he chose a passive ability like the fish to deal with the assassin so he could busy himself with his own thoughts. it also just makes me think so much about chrollo’s love affair with aesthetics because the indoor fish are just so goddamn aesthetic and it shows that even though hes a fairly apathetic person (towards anything non-pt related) he still has his own sense of beauty and grace that he makes sure is reflected in his abilities.
2.
why indeed? i think this might be the most telling glimpse of chrollo we get, the shit with kurapika aside. our innocent progatonist asks the age old question posed to every villain: why do you do the things you do without any guilt? and, unlike every other villain, chrollo simply replies “i dont think ive ever thought about it. why indeed?” and you see hes legitimately put off balance by the question and the realization that he doesnt have an answer. its just so indicative of his personality. he doesnt think about shit that doesnt matter to him, hes never needed to think about the why’s and how’s of what he does, since all hes ever done was ensure the existence and well being of him and his friends. everything else was extraneous and didnt matter. every other villain always has some reason for what they do, be it that they consider themselves above humanity and therefore have the right to do as they please, or that they think the loss of life is just in light of what they seek to bring about– chrollo though. he has no such illusions. he simply does what he does and he doesnt think it matters enough to wonder beyond it. i just love how unique a perspective that is. chrollo is amazing. just so goddamn amazing.
3.
ummm all yall know about my love affair with silvakuro and this comes as no surprise to any of you, but this scene in general was phenomenal because of the sheer potential it gives regarding chrollo’s backstory and early pt life. we know for sure that silva killed a spider and chrollo fought him, and that chrollo obviously has some ill feelings towards silva and silva harbors enough respect and caution around chrollo to warn the rest of the family about engaging with the spiders. we know that silva knows chrollos hatsu stealing power. what the fuck happened between the two of them??? was it a hit? was it made personal? chrollo didnt try to go after kurapika for killing uvo, so it couldnt have just been a simple case of silva taking out a spider on a hit. was the hit meant for him? did his spider get killed trying to protect him? was silva forced to fight a truly angry chrollo and barely made it out with his life in tact? i adore this scene because even though its short and mainly between chrollo and zeno, the sheer amount of potential is daunting. it keeps me up at night, guys. it really does.
4.
hmmm chrollo looking east. he’s just had his nen bound and his troupe cut off from him, as well as the death of paku on top of uvo to contend with. he’s been betrayed by hisoka, prevented from speaking to any of his friends, and suffice to say, his entire world has been turned on its side in the span of an evening. and still, he looks east towards his salvation. i adore this moment as it shows just how good chrollo is a compartmentalizing. anyone else would be raging, crying, pissed beyond belief that theyd been chained up and thrown into the wild with no friends or power beyond what they can manage with their bare hands. But chrollo, chrollo is just. looking east. its all happened, there was no stopping it, what little chance he had at defying fate was thwarted by hisoka’s meddling. and hes accepted all of that. hes accepted it, and so he looks east, towards the salvation hes meant to seek. its so fucking good.
5.
okay ive spoken at length about how fucking much i love this exchange, but its for good reason because i fucking love this exchange. chrollos just found out that hisoka has been lying to him the entire time, that hes the reason for uvo being killed and that he helped the chain user kidnap, beat, and bind him all for this chance at fighting him. chrollo would be completely justified in being angry, or betrayed, or hurt. instead, he accepts it. hes not even that surprised. because from the start, chrollo knew hisokas nature. his diatribe on judas showed very well how he views hisoka. its in human nature to betray and brutalize for money or power or prestige. hisoka did as hisoka does, self centered as he is, and chrollo knew that hisoka would do anything in order to get his chance to fight him. chrollo has no right to be surprised, because this wasnt betrayal. it was simply human nature doing as human nature does.
its so hard to pick favorite moments with chrollo because i sincerely believe that every scene we get with him is worthy of discussion. hes an endlessly fascinating character and his personality alone is so goddamn complex that its almost a crime to try and pin him in place. chrollo is incredibly dynamic and convoluted, a contradiction in every way because we simply have no grounds for comparison with him. the more you try to define him, the faster his slips through your fingers, ephemeral, like mist carried on the wind. hes as thought provoking as he is beautiful and i really love these sorts of asks since it gives me an excuse to get up on my soap box and preach to you all about my undying adoration of chrollo fucking lucilfer.

i have a workplace rant
yesterday the girl i was supporting arrived and her taxi escort immediately said she’d been in a very grabby mood. she walks leaning on people’s arms, and when he transferred her from his to mine, she immediately threw her weight back as hard as she could. i knew i would not be able to support her to keep standing, so i moved to slowly lower her to the ground, but she kicked out at my legs and i lost my balance. i fell, but while i fell i made sure not to just drop her and i managed to cushion her head with my arms, which meant i couldnt prevent myself from cracking my own head off the door frame, hard
this was not a good start to the shift! we got her up and she was smiling and apparently unhurt. she sat in a seat and ate some quavers. i got an incident report and tried to fill it out, but this is very hard as she needs constant 1:1 interaction and even with that, she often just...grabs. she has a high level of intellectual disability and it seems that she grabs out because she finds people’s reaction funny, and because she likes the sensation, so she can be redirected with hand massage, other deep pressure, high fives, drumming on her hands and legs etc...but not always. like it clearly doesnt quite fill her need to scratch and squeeze. even if you are interacting with her continuously and she is happy as larry, she will still try to dig her nails in or lunge at your face while laughing. it’s also often to communicate wanting something and she’ll accompany that with angry noises. so there isnt anything we can really do to eliminate grabbing. we do what we can.
anyway, i got the life grabbed out of me while trying to write this report, which NEEDS to be done immediately after an incident. there was nobody available on shift to help by distracting her or anything, all the managers were in a meeting (in the room with the files and the meds cupboard, during a shift, which... ???) so i just had to do my best. she tore my skin quite badly in places, like i have two deep crescent wounds on my left hand.
once i had done the incident report, i had identified areas of her care plan which need updated and i knew we would need to outline a clear course of action to follow when she throws her weight (again it seems to be something she enjoys on a sensory level and also she finds it funny when staff stagger or tell her to stop) and i would need to talk that through with a manager to make sure we were on the right page with that. but as i said, all the managers were in a meeting, and i was on shift so i had to just proceed as normal with the girl.
we went out for a walk (she uses a chair out and about) and came back and she started to make annoyed noises, which at 5pm usually means she wants dinner. she had a bottle of juice while i made dinner and after that was finished she started making angry noises again. all this is super consistent with her wanting dinner, and at dinner time her routine is to walk down to a quieter room in which to eat. but she didnt want to get out of her chair and she screamed when i tried to encourage her. i hate being stuck in that bind, because she was clearly telling me she did not want to get out of her chair but i am supposed to encourage her (in my opinion it crosses a line into forcing her) to walk while in the department. i tried a compromise of taking her to the table and then trying again to see if that would jog her into her normal habit - no, still screaming. fine. dinner in your chair.
then she didn’t want dinner. she always wants dinner, she’s one of the most reliable eaters we have. she’s a food lover. it was a tasty looking beef jalfrezi. she loves beef. she loves curry. she screamed at the dinner at some length. she threw the forkfuls. she pulled my hair and tried to break my glasses. i just wish she could tell me...’i hurt myself when i fell and ive lost my appetite.’ ‘i had a bad curry from here last week and it’s put me off them’ ‘im not hungry’ ‘im having stomach cramps’ ‘im too overwhelmed to eat right now’ but she cant. and when i fail to feed the kids its like i have failed to meet a basic need, like if my job was boiled down to essentials tht would be one of the biggest. it makes the whole shift feel like a fuck up
my boss finally appeared and i asked if she was on her way out, ofc she was. i told her there had been an incident and asked her about the guidance we’d need (my instincts were right) and she told me to make sure her parents were informed, update the plan, file the incident report on her desk, find another member of staff to attempt to give the girl her dinner in case i have become ‘bad cop,’ try a quieter area, try to get her out of her chair ‘oh, did she pull your hair there? anyway then do this, this, this,...’ and then she left for the day
i found a member of staff to give dinner another go in a quieter room. she did then voluntarily get out of her chair and sit at the table. but still, she screamed. i left to give the other staff member a shot, and i went and got her things prepared for personal care and filed the incident report and then i went back and the other staff member just shook her head sadly. so we supported the girl with her personal care (she made angry noises all the way to the bathroom and throughout the process which is not unusual for her in a bad mood and she very often has bad moods but i was plagued with wondering if she was hurt in some way) and then she chose to wander around the department gradually calming down. spent some time in the sensory room and the quiet room looking at the lights, playing on the waterbed. ever so slowly she reached a more settled and content level
while she was working on regulating herself, i was updating her care plan, filling out a detailed diary of the incident to go home with her and one that we keep, gathering her things to go home, cleaning up after the failed dinner etc etc. then her taxi escort did not arrive til 7.15 (should have been 6.55) i quickly informed them of what had happened and told them there was a detailed diary in her bag and could they be sure to let mum and dad know, and then i ran for my bus because if i miss the 7.20 bus im stuck out in the bitter cold for half an hour. but then the bus was 25 minutes late. the cold stung my injuries pretty badly.
this morning my boss texted me, ‘did u inform [girl]s parents and r u ok after fall?’ ‘I’m fine, I informed her taxi escort and detailed everything in the home diary’ ‘hmm, remember i told u to fone them, better to do these things in person. glad ur ok’
she literally didnt even tell me to phone them. she said i might want to phone them if the girl’s behaviour seemed to be indicating she was in pain, but it was my call as long as i made sure they were informed. i like my boss in general, but a) she lacks compassion* and b) she often talks while thinking of other things and then thinks she vocalised her thoughts when she didnt, or it was a sort of jumble in which an experienced interpreter might have been able to find that instruction but it wasnt actually clear. im not the clearest of communicators but i try not to harp on other people (especially people who have hit their head and been doing their absolute best to juggle everything that comes after) if im the one who might not have got my meaning across
its just a bit of a bitch
*dont jump on me if you lack empathy. what i mean is she frequently only considers emotionally or physically difficult situations from a logistic point of view. she has a very very limited list of exceptions which are severe physical illnesses or injuries, and grief. everything other than that gets platitudes and a cold certainty that you will be able to work and function entirely as normal (and as care staff, that is already considerably more that is expected of us as ‘normal’ than many other professions, in terms of hours, lack of support, overlapping and complex responsibilities - i dont mean that the caring part is so super difficult, but that we are constantly overstretched by scheduling and administrative considerations). if it crossed her mind that the entire situation and the pain in my head and arms might have been grinding me down somewhat, she didnt care. i dont know if it ever did cross her mind

so theeennnn the woman starts interacting w/ more villagers the more time she spends and she starts becoming real good friends with some of them. and because her ‘master’ thinks shes trustworthy and stuff, he’s not strict, and she sometimes gets free time to just hang out with these friends shes made. and the survivor, from that attack, is really pissed that shes basically just a regular worker as opposed to a ‘proper slave’, angry that he’s being lenient and that she’s just been accepted.
so what the guy does, is he gathers evidence of her ‘slacking off’, even gets some testimonies from people who don’t know that her master allowed it and shit, and he peeps on her hanging out with one of the ladies from the village and being real close to her. and he brings it before their council, claiming she’s fucking around instead of atoning for the misdeeds. so they bring everyone together, and it doesnt even go far, because the second in command steps forward and goes ‘listen yall, this is my fault, ive been lenient in her work and she’s been permitted time off to relax, and she’s been using said time to make friends. if this set up displeases the council, i will alter it immediately and she will be reigned in. i am at fault, not her’
and the council accepts it, her schedule is changed to minimise that free time spent on the town, and the survivor is FURIOUS, because the punishment deflected off the woman and punished that guy instead, and thats not what he wanted. so he’s gotta find something else.
the end goal would be to provoke her into demonstrating her goddamn ~magic hands~ and proving beyond a shadow of a doubt in anyones mind that she definitely did the murder, which would have her ostracised instead of welcomed and would ruin her good status with the second in command. after all, his good treatment of her mostly came as him believing her to be innocent and non-complicit in the attack. if the survivor can prove that she has the ability, then she’ll lose the good status. but i think going from the aforementioned slacker charge to bringing back the murder is..... a bit.... a bit high. theres gotta be a middle ground.
but while i think that up, the provocation. itd be tough, because shes a fairly collected sort, and quick to resort to humour or to straight up disappear as soon as stuff gets tough on her. so he’d have to get her in a place she cant leave, and a very public place at that in order to ensure he’s not seen as a guy with a vendetta, and he’d have to provoke her. all i can imagine that’d really provoke her would be a suggestion that she’s fucking the second in command, because anyone would be insulted at the suggestion that their status comes from just shagging a guy. idk if that’d tilt her so hard she almost goes murderer, if anything she’d just be :||| excuse me, sir, do you want the chicken or not. like customer service or smth.
if it was long term, like its a long night and he keeps going, it could hit her by the end, especially if she cant easily access the second in command and get him to like. switch her out or something. she’s stuck dealing with him chipping away. maybe the shag suggestion comes at the end and its what finally tips her over. at that point, her eyes would go white and she’d go ‘excuse me’ in a very creepy voice and the survivor would suddenly realise that this isnt actually exactly what he wanted. see, what HE’S thinking is that he can provoke her into doing something she’s not allowed to do. and he’s done that, he’s succeeded, but said thing is an attempt to stuff his head into a christmas turkey with fucking telekinesis. what happens in the end is he stammers out a repeat of what he just said, she steps forward and white light surrounds her hand, he starts screaming in absolute fucking terror and someone tackles her to the ground to prevent her from hurting anyone. after all, everyone knows about the attack. everyone knows how it was described, they all heard what that survivor said, about how a mysterious lady summoned white light in her hands and shots holes through people. and they see the lady that they were told did it but, on reflection of character, really didnt buy that, and they see her summon white light, and it clicks in for EVERYONE. every single person in that room, excusing perhaps children and The Blind, is that she absolutely did it.
so following that display, she’s put back in the slave quarters and its a fucking disaster, dude. like shes distraught. she’s fucked it up. she’s maintained that, though she has ~magic hands~ and could have been in the area at the time and encountered the hunters, she’s ALWAYS believed that she could never have killed them. not with intent, absolutely not. if she did do it, it wouldve been as a result of her being so exhausted that she didnt understand what she’d done. but never, at no point, did she genuinely believe or know that she did it. but her almost fucking up the survivor, it proves to her (and everyone else) that she did. she now has no excuse. she cant reason with it. everything adds up. magic hands, intent to do harm, it all tracks, she had the power and the ability to do it, and if thats the case, how can she say she didnt do it????
at that point, the second in command would need to talk to her, but she wouldnt talk. she’s just silent, head in hands, and nothing he can do can convince her to just explain what happened. and he has to come before the council, or specifically the guy he’s the right hand of, and explain that. it gets really weird. the thing is, her actions imply an intent and attempt to reoffend, which is grounds for banishment. the second in command really doesnt want to do this, because hes positive that if she would just talk to him, he could save her from that, and he still thinks that maybe theres a misunderstanding. because at this point, she’s been in this town for over a year, and she’s been so good up till that point, this doesnt add up to him, there must be more to it.
the only way to really clear her name of that last debacle and keep her in town is to prove it wasnt premeditated. if they can prove she was provoked, they can get her. the problem is, the people who wouldve been close enough to hear all the survivors comments were friends of his, and wouldve agreed with it, thought it fun and not seen his game. they though she snapped as a result of a few harmless comments and that it wasnt a deliberate provocation by him. being able to prove that he provoked her deliberately would clear her. but shes the only one who can prove it, and aside from not talking, its difficult to take the word of the accused on its own. the second in command could stand as a character witness, to speak on her good name, and there are many who could, but equally many who saw what she did and wont. the second in commands word will not stand. everyone thinks that shes corrupted him in some way. before the display, they probably all thought that, but in a vaguely positive way. he’d become a better leader, prime to become the High Council Guy, with her involvement. if there was corruption, it was generally well meant and produced a positive result for all (except the survivor and his family, ofc)
the only OTHER way to really clear her name is to find who actually DID the murder. if they can prove she didnt kill the hunters, then she didnt reoffend, and furthermore would no longer be a slave, or would have her ‘term’ drastically shortened. problem is, beyond the fact that noone knows anyone else would could match the picture of the killer, is that i dont actually know if she did it or not. i like the idea of keeping it ambiguous. proving that she could, but also proving through her general character that she couldnt, making a conundrum for ‘reader’ and characters as to whether she did or not.
god, idk. three clearing options - prove he provoked her into ‘reoffending’ at the party or whatever, prove she didnt do the murder in the firstplace, OR even prove that he and the hunters provoked her in the initial attack, which would subsequently downgrade the initial offence into an act of self defence, which would carry different connotations. OOH, and there’d be a way to do it, sorta, if we bring the initial attack a lot closer to when she collapses in town. like, a day or so. as in, the attack happens and the hunters are all brought back to town in their awful state. the survivor, who wasnt actually injured, explains what he saw. the next day, a woman matching his description of the attacked collapses badly injured in the town. when questioned, she has no recollection of ever meeting the hunters, and thus cannot prove she did or did not kill them. coincidental evidence is still strong. but theres the problem - she’s very badly injured with fresh wounds. were they received in the altercation? but the survivor claims the woman just appeared and attacked them, and that all they could do was run and hide until she left. no blows landed on her, he claims, as all the hunters lowered their weapons once they saw she was human, and wouldnt have had time to raise them for an attack.
so you layer that, and you get the idea that perhaps the hunters attacked this exhausted woman and she snapped, as she did in the ‘party’, and retaliated with ~magic hands~. but because she doesnt actually remember ever meeting the hunters, she cant prove that, hence being found guilty of murder and becoming a slave.
so then, if the second in command really wants to clear her name, and she wont talk to him, and no close witnesses would implicate the survivor as the unquestioned provoker in the display, he needs to prove she committed the murders in an act of self defence. there would be evidence, without doubt. her wounds wouldve been documented, as would those of the hunters and the locations they were found. possibly if the second in command went the location, he could find a weapon coated in blood that implicates one of the hunters as having landed a blow on her. but a) thats a bit deus ex and b) itd be difficult to place the blow as being before or after she went all ~Avatar State~ on the hunters, which means it wouldnt be useful. thats the issue here. if its been a long time since the attack, a year like a said, itd be really difficult to confirm whether she did it when the only witness is the Survivor, who’s a cunt. if she remembered the incident, and could explain it, the whole mess wouldve been fixed, but her suddenly remembering the attack after a year and when shes in trouble would look /real/ suspicious, and wouldnt be taken seriously at all.
whoops written myself into a detective hole here. fuck. this is why all my dr fan stories fell through, yall. the fucks a murder mystery.
unless like. ok. heres an idea. so the woman is travelling with someone else the whole time (for what reason? she doesnt explain, but shes clearly a foreigner so mm), and theyre both exhausted and probably vaguely headed for the town to rest and recuperate. on their way, theyre encountered by the hunters. things lead to things, probably nasty, and the travelling partner is killed by the hunters. they know theyre humans, and the Survivor’s mention of ‘putting their weapons down’ is probably true, as of when they first encountered the women. but as i said, shit leads to shit, the traveller is murdered, and The Woman loses her fucking mind. of course, at this point, the hunters all have their weapons drawn, with the possible exception of the survivor, because itd make some sense in a sec. so the hunters, w/ their weapons drawn, see the woman go all Avatar and attack her, in response to which she fucking destroys them. at that point, possibly leaving the Survivor due to him not participating in the murder of her friend. the woman promptly flees the scene, screaming bloody murder. this is what, at least initially, piques the interest of any villagers nearby, because her yells probably echo through the forest.
The survivor thinks fast. his friends were just slain in front of him. theres a dead woman in front of him, who his friends just murdered. what does he do? chucks the woman in a fucking ditch, probably. and because investigators have no reason to look in the ditch, they dont. the womans body remains. because the Survivors now covered in shit, he goes and starts to drag one of his friends back to town, and now he starts yelling for help. the story is set. he and his friends were set upon by a wild woman and slaughtered. he alone survives, covered in cuts and scratches from the undergrowth and trees and covered in the blood of his friends. when the woman subsequently turns up in town, blood covered and fatigued, her wounds are coincidental. she doesnt remember their encounter. she has no reason to inherently distrust what the Survivor says. all she knows is that she was travelling with someone, who now isnt there, and she has to believe that in their exhaustion and injuries they were separated. she has no idea.
and the thing w/ the survivor not killing the friend comes up. because the Woman has ZERO reason to feel inherent hatred towards him. if she saw the hunters’ bodies, which she didnt, she mightve had a gut reaction, but she has no gut reaction of the violent or upset kind towards the Survivor, because he didnt do it. she doesnt hate him. so for the whole time shes in the village, she treats her vague sense of deja vu towards his face as just a coincidence and moves on. ofc she develops hatred to him, as hes a Cunt, but she doesnt have it inherently. she clearly doesnt, because she let him live when she slew his friends.
so THEN what happens is that, in the lead up to another trial of her, the second in command explores the area in which the attack happens, and discovers the partly preserved body of her friend in the ditch. its brought back to town for investigation, because, yknow, a dead fucking body covered in weapon wounds, theres foul play. they briefly postpone the Woman’s trial in order to investigate this fresh case, and she could be found with shit on her that is identifiable as either the hunters’ or the Survivors, implicating him. as that shit mounts and stuff looks sus, the second in command manages to convince the council to allow him to bring the Woman to see the corpse. then she fucking reacts, because she immediately recognises it as her friend, and she probably almost goes avatar again before being restrained and escorted out. NOW she’ll talk. thing is, she still has 0 recollection of the night of the attack. her memory doesnt miraculously reappear on that front. that whole night doesnt exist. probably a trauma thing but also, try and remember a specific random day from over a year ago, good luck buddy.
but she’d now be able to explain proper what happened on the day of The Display, and theyd be able to piece a lot of stuff together and come to a conclusion that she and her friend were attacked by the hunters and that she retaliated after they killed her friend, which would allow to sorta slot under an act of self defence (or a similar, not fuckig murder charge, you feel me), thus allowing her sentence to be drastically shortened, and for a charge of murder (or conspiracy to murder, or culpability, or like, what... accessory! accessory to murder) to be laid upon the Survivor and posthumously upon the hunters.
fuck. thatd work. i guess? especially if the element of the dead woman is established. mentioned when the woman wakes up in a panic in the home of a king soul, asking if theyve seen her and if she was with her, and being forced to weakly concede that she doesnt remember having seen her recently due to her exhaustion blacking out many of her days. then you can bring it up later, when the second in command gets closer and more curious about her and asks about how she came to be in the village, and she’d mention her travelling partner and how she wished she knew where she was. then, the body. BAM. fuck! rule of threes, motherfuckers, i know how to construct a narrative! fuck me
tl;dr the Survivor tries a few times to get the Woman thrown out, and eventually succeeds in almost being attacked and killed by her. in an effort to clear her name (because hes a naive good soul who cant combine the image of a murderer with the general way this woman has acted since her arrival), her master, the Second in Command, does a sweep of the area in which the survivor was attacked and discovers the partly preserved corpse of a woman, who was murdered by the Hunters, prompting their deaths at the hands of The Woman.
fuck me down
