i love that headcanon and then she was also in the galaxy garrison when garrison trio was there because she is actually there in the first episode

(this time it is canonically her) (and we know already that james is in the garrison at this time despite him not being in this episode, season 7 episode 1 shows keith’s backstory and james, lance and hunk are in the garrison at this time so it’s safe to assume she also is seeing as she’s in the garrison at the same time as the garrison trio)

i love childhood friends to lovers trope and that is literally james and ina! also the fact that she doesn’t talk much but when she does she’s spouting data and james seems used to it. (they’re in love trust)

also i’m just going to add my own headcanons here, i think ina is trans because she just is. also she has an eidetic memory (did i spell that right) and autism.

First school day back is over! Although the day was pretty uneventful, it was fun visiting around the classes again. Also quite enjoyable to see the looks on the MFE’s faces when I finally gave them their gifts from NYC. I would have posted about them here, but I didn’t want to spoil the surprise in case they found any of my posts.

I got Ina a few minifig keychains from the LEGO store; of course, they were Batman and Superman, but I too cannot resist the pull of SuperBat, so I caved.

Nadia was kind of difficult to shop for, until I remembered she’s a sticker and magnet hog, and I collected TONS of both at pretty much every gift shop I came across. I should have filmed her reaction LOL

Ryan’s gift was the first one I bought. In the NBC gift shop, there’s a section of merch just from “The Office.” So, I got him the “WORLD’S BEST BOSS” mug. He’s no one’s boss, and I told him to leave it in the break room. He laughed.

James was. Expensive. I’m just gonna show you what I got for him.

He named it Hank Oliver. Keith’s jealous.

Otherwise, today was normal. I mean, I did talk an entire classes’ ears off about the NY trip, but they seemed pretty engaged in what I had to say (especially when Keith accompanied Lance to the ER; story for another time), so I don’t think they minded much.

Speaking of those two, Lance actually left with Keith. I don’t blame him. I think he misses space. If anyone could brave it and have a good time doing so, it’s them. They promised to call me at least once a month.

Another picture I apparently forgot to post before, it's Galra Ina, who's a Beta, and Pidge, who got captured at Space Mall after she went looking for Keith, who had disappeared with Officer Griffin. I'm not quite sure about this size difference here, Ina might be a bit big. I'll have to redraw it sometime, but for now you get this one. I should draw more of this AU. And actually write for it. I have a half-written prologue I need to finish and then actually write more of it.

Can we talk about her name for a second?

She's named Ina Leifsdottir, which means that she's the daughter of some nordic dude named Leif.

Voltron is set a few centuries in the future, therefore, there must still be nordic dudes named Leif, just like today, when every second nordic dude who's known to have ever existed is named fucking Leif.(no Leif-shaming tho, just saying)

I don't know if I should find it fascinating or frightening that the culture of Leifs has survived so long.

My favorite team in the Voltron show is MFE pilots + Veronica

This is the kind of day where my muses get really talkative.

I want to preface the rest of this by saying that I know my muses are fictional characters. They started out as writing exercises and have become filters I use to process different ways of thinking, especially when I'm writing. I have conversations with them the same way I write stories, I imagine them, and part of that is inviting the universe to fill in the gaps.

Loki and Leifsdottir are the most active right now because Loki is my chief writing muse and Leifsdottir is playing a particularly strong role in helping me frame the attitudes of the characters in the novel I'm editing. Loki is being particularly argumentative right now because the writing is tough and they're stressed.

So he started asking about why Leifsdottir got to bring so many knives with her when she appeared even though she isn't confirmed to own any knives in canon.

Leifsdottir replied to that with the beginning of an infodump about her favorite knives and in particular the one Griff gave her once.

The next part of the conversation was very much in the moment and I don't remember exactly the words that were said but the end result was that Loki and I are now handfasted. Which seemed to shut him up about the knives because it increased their ability to use knives? For metaphorical reasons? The muses' space is built out of metaphors, it's hard to explain.

Anyway then Loki wanted to follow me around all day while I did my job but she got bored easily and started suggesting mayhem, which I shut down. I told them that warehousing is really more of a Leifsdottir activity.

Loki asked why a fighter pilot would be any more interested in warehousing than he is.

Leifsdottir replied that both piloting and warehousing require steadiness, attention to detail, pattern recognition and other strengths of hers.

Anyway I think Loki is feeling a little insecure at the moment, both because Leifsdottir is so important right now in both my IRL and creative lives, and because her role with regards to the novel requires Leifsdottir to be vaguely eagle shaped for the time being.

Loki is mostly an amalgamation of Marvel versions of the character, but he has enough myth Loki in him to be wary of eagles. I think the handfasting helped Loki feel more secure in my chief writing muse spot and also better about being able to use knives in ways previously only available to Leifsdottir for complex metaphorical reasons.

Anyway they are currently hovering over my shoulders like an angel and demon, only the one with wings is on my left and the one with horns is on my right.
