I do think it's very sweet and very telling that, when Gale is confessing his love for Tav, he says, 'If we were home,' suggesting that he already considers his home to be theirs/ours as well.

Aaaaah ❤️🥹 This is such a wonderful observation, we absolutely have to talk about Gale and how important the concept of ‘home’ is to him!

You’re of course talking about this lovely line:

You know, one of the many things I love about Gale’s confession is that it’s not a spontaneous, frivolous thing. Yes, the slow burn to get to that point is verrry slow, but my god is it worth the wait. Because when Gale does confess, he is absolutely certain about how he feels. He knows he has fully committed his heart to Tav, he knows he loves Tav, and he knows wants to share his life with them (however much he has left). All he needs is for Tav to return his feelings. Is it any wonder that he is so nervous, and then so relieved, when Tav tells him they’re in love with him, too?

I’ve mentioned before that some of the dialogue hints at Gale already considering marrying Tav some day. And why not? This may be his last night alive, but he can dream. He knows Tav is his beloved, and he intends to bond with them, intertwining their spirits. What is marriage if not a public acknowledgement of that?

And, to your point op, he’s already considering his home as ‘their’ home. He could’ve said ‘if I were home’. But he said if ‘we’ were home. A home that he considers the ‘centre of his universe’:

Gale isn’t just considering intertwining their spirits, he’s considering intertwining their lives. All without hesitation, because at this point he loves Tav so much that in his mind they are already woven into his life, seamlessly.

So how lovely is it, and how perfect, that in the ending where Tav accepts his proposal/agrees to spend the rest of their life with him—just not in Waterdeep—Gale says this:

Because Tav is the centre of his universe now.

And Tav is his home.

I never explained it properly in post before, but Banana Eel no longer has random gizmos and tech. Instead, he’s got the ability to imbue bad luck on items or individuals! Its an addition of his curse.

This old doodled comic is an example of what it can do. The poor bastard cant control just how strong the misfortune is, however, so sometimes it goes in his favor and.. most times, it’s a disaster.

Out of all the characters, I think (post-series) Xie Lian is the most likely to actually survive flying at supersonic speeds and could theoretically get the actual "boom" if not the colour

(Hua Cheng, on the other hand, would be more than happy to supply the rainbows)

Wei Wuxian is the most likely to ATTEMPT it and inevitably blow himself up in the process (the only thing going boom here is Jiang Cheng's patience)

marriage counselling would NOT fix them. largely because wily doesn't think he has issues keeping them at square 0 forever. but it would be Funny

also. tangential tangent:

I actually think about light's hands-off approach with wily's self improvement a lot. he seems to believe that reaching out over and over, that subtly exposing wily to the truth of their relationship (i.e. that light sees him as a dear friend [ahem] and equal) will simply. Fix whatever's troubling him. he places the responsibility of development squarely on wily's shoulders (good), but makes no real effort to understand him on a psychological/emotional level (bad). the closest he comes to doing so is in rm11, wherein he privately laments the impact his actions might've have had on wily's mental state/future behaviour, but, when confronting him, focuses on the possibility of rekindling their partnership instead.

when light says "we achieved this together" what he doesn't realise is that he's diminishing wily's personhood in a way. when light gives wily an opportunity to "join his side", he is, implicitly, apologising.

but he doesn't say sorry. he doesn't say that wily was right. this is perfectly normal, expected even, but important to me because imo wily only really registers this sort of thing when it's framed through the lens of explicit validation. if light can't bring himself to say it outright, wily is never going to listen. boulder meet hill.

I do agree with all the stuff you said in your body language post about aventurine, but there was an instance in 2.3 where he was standing right next to boothill when you meet with him and boothill, and obviously boothill isn't close to aventurine at all. Do you think this is an exception just because they were in the same room together and devs had to make them stand together so trailblazer could converse w/ them both?

I think it's just because they're not actually in the same room together.

In 2.3, Aventurine showed up only as a hologram. He's probably in his own room alone, actually. And I'm not sure that he could walk away as hologram, even if he wanted to. 😂

That said, it isn't that he never has any up-close conversations; it's just that he has way less of them than other characters do.

As another aside, I also think that Boothill is the kind of person who would absolutely go "The heck you tryin' to talk to me from the other side of the room for?!" And he would just walk right up on Aventurine with zero hesitation.

The space bubble does not exist for him lolol.

♦ - quirks/hobbies headcanon for Aryaille!

I got inspired tonight thinking about Aryaille's morality around killing and revenge-

After making peace with her darkside (happened slowly from post HW through ShB) she's totally cool with revenge. Even if someone wants revenge against her. That's fine. She won't let them succeed- especially if her loved ones would get hurt- but she gets it.

She's also fairly calm about killing. (her favorite sword isn't called Deathbringer for nothing) She's not going to go around killing bandits who didn't realize they picked the wrong target, for example (she'd rather help get them a better livelihood). HOWEVER there are times when whoever stands in her way is going down and whether they survive or not isn't her concern. (praetorium, for example)

so i'm currently on the matt morgan discord server, which has been a ride, but I was looking through old messages to see if i find anything interesting and someone on there mentioned that they knew about the oasis reunion bc of their work since 2023. Which means that liam and noel were absolutely already talking again by early 2023 - which i guess we all knew, but i think the extra confirmation is cool

They're all involved and enthusiastic in their own ways. Maya would be excited from day one of finding out there's something going on, marking her calendar, making it a point to schedule the day off to travel to the city if she needs to in Gregory's case, and throw her metaphorical pom-poms the hardest and cheer the loudest.

Edgeworth would be more reserved on the outside, but he also will clear his schedule and have it on his mind through to the big game/play/what have you. He would probably be the one recording footage and taking pictures, too. He might even be the one pushing for the extracurriculars in the first place.

Phoenix would be somewhat aloof about it--not that he means to. But his partners/kids probably need to remind him of the more important events, but once he's there on the bleachers or in the audience, he'll be cheering or clapping just as much as Maya.
