∞ “math” bc im high on algebra (is this algebra?)

im high on math rn so hypothetically lets find yhr mean of ∞

so an example of mean is

(1 + 2 + 3) / 3

So,

(1 + 2 + 3…) / ∞

we have ∞/∞, which is 1. (The denominator is ∞ bc we have an infinite amt of numbers)

Howver, this is incorrect. We havent accounted for negatives. The mean would be 1 if ∞ was only positivr numbers (which its not)

(-1 + 1 - 2 + 2…) / ∞.

bc there is an equal amount of negatives amd positives, the mean of ∞ is 0.

also you can find thr mean bc ∞ is a set of numbers, aka all numbers

picture this: you spend 40 years in an apocalyptic wasteland with the single goal of getting back to save your siblings from dying when the world ends just to fail

and then you start to panic because you and your siblings are about to die a horrible death and there’s nothing you can do to stop it, but you desperately cling onto a shot-in-the-dark plan to save them because it’s accompanied by a sliver of hope, and then ask if they trust you to try it and they WITHOUT HESITATION go “absolutely tf not”

the part that tells us that some time in the Commission you dragged Herb with you to the Infinite Switchboard and learnt how to operate it and watched every footage you could find about your siblings

Every spare moment you got you went to the IS (with Herb of course) and kept tabs on your siblings so that despite being so far ahead you didn't miss out on anything

So that they are with you even though you're not with them

So on discord, I was reminded by Tequila Sundown that SEEK humanity will eventually have enough planets to completely circle the Sun as a belt and traverse across each other physically

Assuming all the planets are at the same distance from the Sun as our Earth is, and each planet is at least one lunar distance away from each other….

2500 planets? Maybe 3000 planets

For comparison:

- the Systems Alliance from Mass Effect has “dozens of colonies”

- the united federation of planets in Star Trek: The New Generation had 150 planets

- the UNSC from Halo included 800 colonies (not all of them planets
