The house was quiet when she woke. 

Aelin rolled over in her bed, rubbing her eyes as she reached for her phone. There were so many notifications it was both heartwarming and overwhelming. She swiped them away from her lockscreen, making a mental note to respond to all the texts and comment on all the instagram posts she’d been tagged in. It was her twenty-ninth birthday, but she felt infinitely older.

The sheets were soft against her skin, pillow fluffy beneath her head. A sigh drifted from her lips, heavy enough that it filled the silence of her home. Her lips twisted to the side as she locked her phone and laid it back on her nightstand beside her. There was no sound in her room save for the soft hum of the ceiling fan and her skin rustling against cotton sheets.

It was late morning, the sun eagerly peering through the curtains, and she had nothing to do today except attend her birthday party later that evening. All of her friends had sworn to be there, and her attendance was mandatory. Aelin had already picked out her outfit, leaving it hanging on the back of her closet door. This year she was going for a simple look: ripped jeans and a band t-shirt beneath her favorite cardigan that he had bought her two Yulemases ago. 

Him. Rowan. His name echoed through her empty heart, threatening to shatter her ribcage to dust. She turned her head and looked at his side of the bed, the pillow untouched and smooth. Everything remained exactly the same as it had been the last several years. Even his watch was where he had last taken it off the night before being admitted to the hospital. 

The simple gold band she had once slid on his finger while making a lifetime of promises hung from a chain around her neck. The closet was still filled with a collection of his dress shirts, his shoes still lined the floor. In the shower his body wash and shampoo still sat on the little shelves that jutted out from the wall. Aelin hadn’t been able to touch any of it, despite his passing having been six months ago.

She still couldn’t get herself to take the emerald ring off her finger, either. Maybe one day it would join his on her necklace and she would find a way to move on, but this was a chapter that she just refused to close. She couldn’t close. If she did, it might break her beyond the point of no return.

While her mind threatened to spiral deep into the loss of her beloved, the doorbell chimed through her home. Gods, she didn’t want to see anyone right now when she was on the brink of caving to the grief. It was her first birthday without him and she wasn’t ready to face the day alone.

Still, she crawled out of bed, adjusting her pajamas and combing her fingers through her hair as she walked through the house. By the time she was at the door she decided she was decent enough. Nobody was on her porch when she peered through the window, though a floral delivery van was pulling off down the street. A large kingsflame bouquet sat on her doormat. 

A small smile tugged at her lips, knowing it was likely Aedion trying to start off her day positively. She pulled the door open and carried them inside, marveling at the vase and deeply inhaling the scent of her favorite flower. As soon as she slid the vase onto the counter, she plucked up the card in the center and carefully pulled it from the little envelope it was housed in. 

But when she saw the scrawling script on the inside, her heart stuttered to a complete stop in her chest, tears immediately pricking at the corners of her vision while she reminded herself to breathe.

To my Fireheart. Happy birthday. I love you to whatever end.

The message was short and sweet, but from Rowan all the same. Of all the schemes and secrets she had kept from him to pull off big surprises, this bouquet of flowers had far more of an impact than anything she had ever done. Seeing his handwriting, getting the same floral arrangement he had given her for years on her birthday six months, one week, and two days after his death had her heart in such a tight hold that she felt she couldn’t move. 

She brought that little piece of cardstock to her mouth, relishing the way it felt between her fingers as she mouthed the words ‘to whatever end’ against the paper. It shook against her lips, her hands trembling as she tried and failed not to break down.

Aelin gave into the grief, sinking to her knees as her entire body began to quake and hot tears fell in rivers down her cheeks.

This one is always tired and not the most romantic or one to take initiative, so a sweet S/O to brighten up his otherwise dull day would be very welcome. 

He usually is not a touchy person, but since he knows they're shy and love hugs, he'd indulge once in a while to put his scarf around them and hug them tightly, not saying a word and just enjoying the moment. (That is, if nobody they both know is around.)

Their shy and soft nature comes off as a relief and positive light in his life and since he's not one of many words, he's an amazing listener. That means that if they ever feel like they want to tell something to someone, no matter how random, he'd urge them to tell him. Be it memes, an aesthetic pic, a pretty landscape, a kitten on the street and so on.

Speaking of kittens...If his S/O suddenly comes home with a stray kitten in their sweater, looking at him with those sad, puppy eyes, asking if they could keep it, he could NOT for the love of anything in the world refuse his S/O. The poor boy has to lift his scarf to cover his face so his S/O won’t see him blushing, while he turns around and mutters how adorable they are.

He's not one to shower his S/O with endless amounts of gifts, but if he sees they love flowers and plants in general, he'd surprise them with a different flower once every weekend and on special occasions, he'd gift them a potted-flower so they could take care of it and cherish its beauty for a long time.

Bonus: If his S/O was to make him a flower crown, he'd wear it for a while, before he puts it on their head and takes a picture of them smiling, putting it as his phone wallpaper, saying how they're a true forest nymph.

Toshinori’s S/O has known him for a long time, even before he became All Might and they were really close, until he had to leave to America and their S/O went to Europe with a Healing Quirks Internship.

The next time they saw each other was after he got injured and they met each other on their way home from the grocery shop.

Toshi recognised them immediately, which made him gasp in shock, trying to hide his skeleton self from them, but they only looked at him confused for a while, until their eyes widened in realisation, remembering how much they loved to play with his blond hair, and their bag fell as they jump-hugged him

Needless to say, being used to their usual shy and soft self, he used to be the one to jump-hug them do all the cutesy stuff, so his S/O taking initiative in such a sweet way touched his heart an infinite times.

“Yagi, goodness, what happened to you? Are you ill? Injured? Jeez, you should have said something, you know I could be of use with my Quirk or something!”

Toshi could only smile at them and try to fight back the tears, not even getting insecure about his powerless self anymore.

Then, he remembered a crucial question he always wanted to ask them.

“Say, S/O, why do you always call me by my surname?” “ Ah, well, you see...I always thought Yagi sounded like the Korean word Jagi, which means Sweetheart or Honey and I thought it was...You know...Really cute!” they said, an obvious blush on their face.

Toshi would be the most affectionate and sweet boyfriend anyone could wish for.

You like flowers? Expect to be gifted flowers every day, just so he could see you smile.

You like puppies? Let’s adopt one!

You like huge? Yagi will give you hugs any time, anywhere, no matter who is around or watching.

You make him a flower crown? He’ll wear it around everywhere, even when he teaches at U.A., but expect him to also make one for you so you can match and be Flower Fairies.

Bonus: He’d have a personalised ringtone/notification tone for your texts and calls with your voice. “ Heads up, Yagi! You’ve got a call! Hurry up and answer! ” or “ Toshi, would you look at this flying text?! It’s aiming right at ya! ”

This cutie isn’t the best at relationships since he has no experience whatsoever, but the feeling his S/O brings him is one he craves so he’s learning how to be the best boyfriend.

He’d ask his older brother and sister a lot on this topic and what to do not to be in any way like their father and despite being awkward and reserved, so he’ll try to appear confident, even if he’s actually a stuttering mess, like his S/O.

The first time you decided to have an official date, he brought them a flower and their reaction was so sweet and adorable that he blushed. 

His S/O only mentioned once their favourite flower type and of course, Shoto would remember something so important about his S/O, and from then on, he’d always bring them the same, single flower and put it in their hair, cherishing every second of their bright smile.

Frankly speaking, he’s very attentive so he’d remember even trivial things like his S/O’s favourite number, favourite colour, ice cream preference, fave season, little obsessions and so on.

Of course, he’d also easily decipher them through their body language, which is how he learnt to always give the best hugs when he felt like his S/O needed them.

I mean it literally. This boy gives THE best huges EVER.

He’d even nuzzle his face in the crook of his S/O’s neck, letting his vulnerable side show only around them. It’s his own way of saying how much he loves and trusts his S/O, even if it’s not through words.

Albeit, neither of them is good with expressing their affections through words, so they keep those for light or deep conversations, while cute gestures like hand-holding, hugs, cheek kisses and so on are their way of saying “I love you”.

Todoroki is an animal fan, more of the silent ones, like rabbits, even if he doesn’t say it much, but if his S/O was ever to ask him if he wants to adopt an animal, he’d be happy to raise an innocent soul with the person he loves the most.

One day, they go walking through a nice meadow and spot lots of flowers, which makes his S/O giddy and cheery, dragging him there and getting started on a red and white flower crown, situated opposite to colours of his hair.

Poor Shoto had his face redder than his hair or the flowers, but hearing his S/O giggle made him forget about the blush and look at them just to see their shy smile that they only share with him.

Bonus: His S/O would take out a pair of cat ears and put them on their head, then jump-hugged Todoroki and took out their phone, taking numerous selfies as they kissed his face or smiled to the camera.

“S-S/O, what are you doing?” “I wanted to change my phone’s lockscreen so it could have both of us happy!” “Then...Can you let me take the next picture so we can both share it as a matching lockscreen?”

His S/O’s eyes started gleaming like stars when they heard his idea and nodded frantically, until he kissed them gently, with a hand behind their head, and the other taking numerous pictures.

His S/O was a blushing mess, but kissed back just as lovingly.

“Say, S/O, I think this one would be great, hm? I think the evening light and sky colours really highlight your beauty”.

What image do you have for a wallpaper: My lockscreen is a kind of 8-bit style piece of the voidfish in its tank, from TAZ. It’s really cool, and if I could remember the artist (I saved the image a good while ago, so I don’t remember for sure) I’d properly credit them, bc it’s a really cool piece. My home wallpaper is a map of some constellations, stylized. I like space. Where do you see yourself in 10 years: I want to be a park ranger currently, so I hope I’m doing that, and I want a beautiful wife/partner and a dog and some other pets in a nice modest lil home on our way to being stable enough for kids. 

If you could be anywhere else right now, where would you be?: I’d like to be at the beach, sitting on the warm sand watching the sun set over the water. Preferably after a long day of exploring and laughing with a small group of my good friends. 

What was your coolest Halloween costume?: My mom made my costumes until I hit about 8th grade, and my favorite was the elf costume she made me in 6th grade--I was going for an elf from my favorite series at the time, (I don’t remember the actual name of the series but the one with Eragon) but it ended up being basically a Tolkien elf. It was like a mossy-green full-length dress with a matching sword belt and a plastic sword, and then a cloak that was the same green on the inside and dark brown on the outside. It looked super cool, and I’m bummed that I’m so much bigger than I was back then bc I’d still wear it if I could. 

What’s your favorite 90′s show?: Probably either The X-Files or Star Trek: TNG. Idk, I don’t watch a lot of 90′s stuff. 

Last kiss: I know this means romantic kiss, but like that’s bs, so the last kiss I gave/received was I kissed my cat on her soft lil head today and my sister’s service dog licked my nose when I sat down to pet him about a week ago.

Have you ever been stood up?: Nope! 

Have you ever been to Las Vegas?: Nah, and it doesn’t really appeal to me--i get sensory overload pretty easily in places I don’t know, and the Strip sounds like sensory overload on steroids. 

Favorite pair of shoes: Depends on the season, but in fall/winter I’ve got some cute boots that look like faux hiking boots that I call my lesbian boots bc they make me feel like a lumberjack tryin to pick up cute woods ladies, for really any season but mostly spring-fall I have a pair of black high top chucks that go with pretty much everything, and then for summer I like to wear my dorky-looking green Keens sandals.

Favorite fruit: Unpopular opinion: almost every fruit has The Bad Texture, so I don’t eat a lot of it (I do like juice though, since it mitigates most of the texture issues as long as there’s no pulp). My favorite is probably a honeycrisp apple.

Favorite book: hhhhhhuuuuuuugggghhh I can’t decide! I’m pan and you’re asking me to make decisions!! I really like American Gods by Neil Gaiman, but like....there’s so many others, I can’t choose. 

Stupidest thing you’ve ever done: dude I’m like a fountain of stupid and embarrassing shit, I don’t even know how to rank it. The most recent stupid thing I did was: I was walking to class a couple weeks ago, and there were some people out in the library quad trying to get people to sign a petition, and when one dude approached me and asked me to sign I was so tired that rather than giving them a normal human response, I smiled and gave them a thumbs-up and kept walking. When I processed what I had just done I died a little internally and probably blushed outwardly, so I’m sure passersby thought I was insane.

art hoe stan headcanons ❥ stan has so many books on art. like it baffles bill how many he actually has about the history of art and then ones with famous artists art. ❥ he’s legit always in the art room. you can’t find him anywhere else and he waits in there after bill gets done with baseball practice ❥ stan lives for aesthetics. if he sees something that fits his personal aesthetic he immediately buys it. ❥ speaking of, he’s an impulse buyer. he has so many art supplies just from impulse buying and he doesn’t even use half of them ❥ stan has a small corner of his room dedicated to cacti and other plants. his favorite plant is probably the spiky cactus ❥ bill lowkey loves having such an aesthetically pleasing boyfriend but he gets super jealous whenever other boys and girls hit on stan ❥ so bill just marks him up to show that he’s taken and stan is so flustered when it happens and afterwards and he wears a giant scarf for a week and a half after the incident ❥ stan loves the front bottoms more than anything and bill takes him to one of their concerts as an anniversary present and stan cries in the middle of the concert because he just felt so happy and infinite with his man and his favorite band playing his favorite songs ❥ they go home that night a little tipsy (they’re only 18 at this point but look slightly older so they got away without being carded) and they drive home with the autumn wind filling up the car and their lungs burning from singing along to the songs from the concert ❥ they arrive back at bill’s house and stan just doesn’t want to go home so he falls asleep on bill’s bed and bill snaps a photo of him on his phone for his lockscreen ❥ stan gets a little upset because it isn’t as aesthetic as he would want cause he’s asleep but he finds himself filled with love because bill tells him that he’s always perfect to look at to him ❥ stan cries like a soft baby because he’s just always wanted someone to see through the kept up facade of him being so aesthetic and “perfect” that he’s actually scared and just wants to be loved ❥ and he can’t believe he found this amazing baseball playing nerd who loves him for the real him
