La stagione 2023 – 24 della Scala di Milano

Per la Stagione 2023/2024 la Scala d Milano vedrà un calendario di oltre 250 spettacoli tra Opera, Balletto, Concerti e programmazione per i ragazzi e per le famiglie, ricco di conferme ma anche di proposte inattese, completato da mostre, incontri, visite e approfondimenti per stringere ancora di più il rapporto con il nostro pubblico milanese, nazionale e internazionale. Inoltre il 2024 vedrà concludersi i lavori della nuova palazzina di via Verdi, che accoglie nuove sale prova per l’Orchestra e il Ballo, oltre che gli uffici attualmente dislocati in altri edifici, e garantisce ulteriore profondità al palcoscenico. La Stagione d’Opera 2023/2024 del Teatro alla Scala si compone di 14 spettacoli, 10 dei quali sono nuove produzioni, oltre allo spettacolo inaugurale della Stagione 2024/2025, e ci saranno 3 opere di Giuseppe Verdi e 2 di Giacomo Puccini e  con un titolo ciascuno sono rappresentati Antonio Cesti, Luigi Cherubini, Gaetano Donizetti, Ruggero Leoncavallo e Pietro Mascagni, Jules Massenet, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Gioachino Rossini, Nino Rota, Richard Strauss, Richard Wagner. Alle Stagioni d’Opera e Concerti partecipa una schiera di direttori del più alto livello internazionale, al Direttore Musicale Riccardo Chailly, come Alain Altinoglu, Myung-Whun Chung, Daniele Gatti, Daniel Harding, Michele Mariotti, Ingo Metzmacher, Riccardo Muti, Kirill Petrenko, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Christian Thielemann, Lorenzo Viotti, e nel repertorio barocco Giovanni Antonini, William Christie, Marc Minkowski, Philippe Herreweghe. In campo registico il cartellone vedrà nuovi allestimenti di Daniele Abbado, Irina Brook, Robert Carsen, Davide Liver-more, Christof Loy, David McVicar, Damiano Michieletto, Chiara Muti, Lluis Pasqual e del giovane Mario Acampa per il progetto Accademia, mentre tra le riprese vanno citati Harry Kupfer, Mario Martone e Giorgio Strehler. Il repertorio italiano è al centro della programmazione dal titolo inaugurale, Don Carlo, diretto da Riccardo Chailly nella versione italiana in quattro atti scritta da Verdi per la Scala con la regia di Lluis Pasqual e che fu diretto per due inaugurazioni da Claudio Abbado, di cui cade nel 2024 il decennale della scomparsa. Seguiranno la nuova produzione di Simon Boccanegra diretta da Lorenzo Viotti con la regia di Daniele Abbado, ma anche le riprese di Pagliacci e Cavalleria rusticana nello  storico allestimento di Mario Martone con Giampaolo Bisanti sul podio e di Don Pasquale nella produzione di Davide Livermore ambientata a Cinecittà, diretta da Evelino Pidò. Nel 2024 ricorre il centenario della scomparsa di Giacomo Puccini e la Scala lo celebra con nuove produzioni de La rondine, che mancava dal 1994 e sarà diretta da Riccardo Chailly per la regia di Irina Brook, e di Turandot, diretta da Daniel Harding per la regia di Davide Livermore. Sempre nell’ambito del grande repertorio italiano la nuova produzione di Guillaume Tell sarò per la prima volta alla Scala nella versione originale francese con Michele Mariotti sul podio e il debutto scaligero di Chiara Muti alla regia. Anche Médée di Luigi Cherubini, diretta da Michele Gamba, giunge per la prima volta sul palcoscenico in versione originale francese, sessantatré anni dopo l’ultima produzione diretta da Thomas Schippers con Maria Callas protagonista. Il percorso di esplorazione del Barocco italiano avviato dal Sovrintendente Meyer con le felici produzioni de La Calisto di Francesco Cavalli e Li zite ngalera di Leonardo Vinci arriva all’Orontea di Antonio Cesti, dramma per musica del 1656 di cui proprio la Scala aveva avviato la riscoperta con l’edizione diretta da Bruno Bartoletti nel 1961. Fördermittelübergabe für das Projekt „Endlich ein Zuhause“ –  Hilfe für Wohnungslose im Kreis Wesel

Am Montag, 27. März 2023, haben Landrat Ingo Brohl und Kreisdirektor Ralf Berensmeier die Verträge zur Weiterleitung der Fördermittel für das Projekt „Endlich ein Zuhause“ unterzeichnet, im Beisein der Projektpartner, Berthold Grunenberg für den Caritasverband Moers-Xanten, Guido Busch für den Caritasverband Dinslaken und Wesel sowie Dr. Bernd Riekemann für die AWO Kreis Wesel.  Das Projekt verfolgt die Ziele, Wohnungsverlust zu verhindern, Wohnraum zu schaffen und die Lebenslage obdachloser und von Wohnungslosigkeit bedrohter Menschen zu verbessern. Neben festen Anlaufstationen erfolgt die Beratung auch aufsuchend, beispielsweise mit einem hierfür angeschafften Beratungsbus. Das Land NRW fördert das Projekt über Mittel aus dem Europäischen Sozialfonds. 

Landrat Ingo Brohl: „Die Umsetzung des Projekts hier vor Ort ist beeindruckend. Durch die Mischung von festen Anlaufstellen und mobiler Beratung bieten die Projektpartner den Menschen niederschwellige Hilfe an, die dort ankommt, wo sie nötig ist. Ich freue mich sehr, die Fördermittel für dieses Projekt weitergeben zu können.“  Kreisdirektor Ralf Berensmeier: „Die Partner in diesem Projekt setzen sich unermüdlich dafür ein, die Lebenssituation wohnungsloser Menschen maßgeblich zu verbessern. Sie leisten unbürokratische Hilfe vor Ort und zeigen in persönlichen Beratungsgesprächen Möglichkeiten auf. Zusätzlich bieten sie auch Beratung und Unterstützung, damit es gar nicht erst zu einem Verlust der Wohnung kommt.“  Insgesamt stehen im Zeitraum vom 1. Januar 2023 bis zum 31. Dezember 2025 rund 223.000 Euro jährlich zur Verfügung. Die Mittel werden anteilig auf die Träger verteilt, der Caritasverband Dekanat Dinslaken und Wesel erhält 25 Prozent, der Caritasverband Moers-Xanten 50 Prozent und der AWO Kreisverband Wesel 25 Prozent.  Weitere Informationen gibt es unter Mobiles Beratungsbüro (caritas-moers-xanten.de).  Landrat Ingo Brohl (mi.) unterzeichnete die Verträge gemeinsam mit (v.l.) Magdalena Jetelová - Urban Landscape

Magdalena Jetelová patří k několika českým umělcům, kteří se proslavili ve světě. Jetelová žije od roku 1985 v Düsseldorfu, kde také učí. Na začátku devadesátých let se jako jedna z prvních vrací do Prahy svou výstavou v Belvederu. V době, kdy byla tzv. na indexu se její dílo v Čechách nesmělo objevit. Současná expozice v Městské knihovně opět představuje Jetelovou jako autorku monumentálních časoprostorových projektů a jako jedinou českou umělkyni realizující land art. Po jejím odchodu z Prahy zůstal nedokončený projekt na Jižním Městě, který měl změnit krajinu města. Další práce pokračují v prostorových projektech v zahraničí - jejich měřítko zahrnuje nejen celé galerie, ale nakonec i kontinenty a kosmos. Jetelová řeže prostory laserem, pohřbívá celé budovy hlínou, vytváří světelné pyramidy přes satelit. V Městské knihovně dominuje projekt 14°25´01" E CONNECTIONa 50°05´15" A, který je umístěn mezi nově vytvořené stěny galerie a pomocí videa zachycuje zrychlené a zpomalené obrazy kolejí a jedoucích aut, které symbolizují prostor jako proces, jako virtuální i skutečnou jízdu po spojnici z Čech k protinožcům. Fotografie z cyklu Atlantic Wall a King´s Cross reprezentují předchozí práci s laserem, kdy Magdalena Jetelová vytvářela laserem nápisy na depresivní budovy bývalých vojenských bunkrů a spojovala laserovými paprsky určité lokality na zemi. Poslední část výstavy je tvořena koridorem simulujícím spojení vzdálených míst prostřednictvím vizuálních i zvukových procesů, díky nimž se divák na chvíli ocitá v jiném místě, prožívá inscenovanou jízdu z předchozích záběrů videa. Výstava Urban Landscape, která pod technologickou image ukrývá sociální a ekologické problémy, potrvá do 1. července.

Prostor a čas v megalopoli

"Město budoucnosti" neplní žádnou přirozenou funkci, prostě jen existuje mezi duchem a hmotou, oddělené od obou a nepředstavující ani jedno z nich. Postrádá ve skutečnosti všechny klasické ideály prostoru a pokroku. Dostává se do zorného pole přísně podmíněno vnímáním, nikoliv výrazovými či emotivními prostředky.

Současné město je dnes předmětem projektů mnoha výtvarníků. Aby zjistili, co probíhá v dnešní městské krajině, vážili cestu do Detroitu, Brazílie, Duisburgu, na Madagaskar, do Izraele nebo do Berlína. Výstava představuje díla 18 umělců (Stefanie Bürkle, Paul Casaer, Ania Corcilius, Dellbrügge & de Moll, Nils Donckers, Art Gup, Sybille Hofter, Jakob Kirchheim, Korpys/Löffler, Grete Peschken, Florian Pumhösl, Andrea Rostasy, Paula Roush, Albrecht Schäfer, Eran Schaerf/Eva Meyer, Andreas Siekmann, Ingo Vetter/Annette Weisser, Karsten Wittke), kteří pracují převážné s videem, fotografií a instalacemi. Jejich pracovní proces je založen na výzkumu a dokumentaci. Výstava Prostor a čas v megalopoli potrvá do 1.července.

I do love aftg, but I have to admit, I don't read a lot of new stuff, mostly reread the current obsession again and again... But!

• I do love 'The Song Of Achilles' by Madeline Miller! Made me cry but that's the good stuff

(You're going to cry, a bit slow, gay, very sweet)

• In the same fashion, the 'Captive Prince' trilogy by C. S. Pacat is very good, but I have to warn (TW!) , there is a lot of mentions and descriptions of all kind of abuse, including sexual, physical and mental, and I really hate the backstory they're setting up for babey Laurent... And it's... the third book is very heavy in the beginning (secondhand emotions), in the way that where the two first book took me a day to read through alltogether, the third has taken me a week and I'm only halfway through. Be warned (though I think it's a good read nonetheless ;o).

• 'Good omens' by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman is very nice! I think everyone knows of/has read/has seen it at this point though so it's probably not new

• Then there's books I've only read in swedish which I remember really liking when I was little, 'Graceling', 'Fire' and 'Bitterblue' by Kristin Cashore, but books change a lot between languages so I can't vouch for the english versions...

• Much in the same fashion, books I've reread for more than 15 times each are 'The Host' by Stephenie Meyer (Genom dina ögon, translated by Carina Jansson) and 'The Neverending Story' by Michael Ende, both of which I love. I've tried them in the english format though (there was an extra chapter for The Host in one english edition oop👀) which I disliked a whole lot in comparison. They just don't do it in the same way sadly...

Architecture in Chicago (No. 5)

Numerous architects have constructed landmark buildings of varying styles in Chicago. Among them are the so-called "Chicago seven": James Ingo Freed, Tom Beeby, Larry Booth, Stuart Cohen, James Nagle, Stanley Tigerman, and Ben Weese. Daniel Burnham led the design of the "White City" of the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition which some historians claim led to a revival of Neo-Classical architecture throughout Chicago and the entire United States. It is true that the "White City" represented anything other than its host city's architecture. While Burnham did develop the 1909 "Plan for Chicago", perhaps the first comprehensive city plan in the U.S, in a Neo-Classical style, many of Chicago's most progressive skyscrapers occurred after the Exposition closed, between 1894 and 1899. Louis Sullivan said that the fair set the course of American architecture back by two decades, but even his finest Chicago work, the Schlesinger and Meyer (later Carson, Pirie, Scott) store, was built in 1899 five years after the "White City" and ten years before Burnham's Plan.

Sullivan's comments should be viewed in the context of his complicated relationship with Burnham. Erik Larson's history of the Columbian Exposition, The Devil in the White City, correctly points out that the building techniques developed during the construction of the many buildings of the fair were entirely modern, even if they were adorned in a way Sullivan found aesthetically distasteful.

Chicago is well known for its wealth of public art, including works by such artistic heavyweights as Chagall, Picasso, Miró and Abakanowicz that are all to be found outdoors.

In the 21st century, Chicago has become a leading urban focus for landscape architecture, and the architecture of public places. Building on 19th-20th century legacies of architects such as, Burnham, Frederick Olmsted, Jens Jensen and Alfred Caldwell, modern projects include Millennium Park, Northerly Island, the 606, the Chicago Riverwalk, Maggie Daley Park, and proposals in Jackson Park.

Demokraten zusammen gegen die AfD

„Es tut gut zu sehen, dass Demokraten, wenn sie zusammenstehen, gemeinsam doch eine so deutliche Mehrheit erzielen können“, merkt Landrat Dr. Achim Brötel zur Landratswahl im Partnerlandkreis Görlitz an und gratuliert dem Wahlsieger Dr. Stephan Meyer, der sich gegen den Kandidaten der rechtsextremen AfD durchsetzte. (Archivbild: LRA) Mosbach/Görlitz. (pm) Der CDU-Politiker Dr. Stephan Meyer wurde am Sonntag zum neuen Landrat im Landkreis Görlitz, dem Partnerlandkreis des Neckar-Odenwald-Kreises, gewählt. In der zweiten Runde der Landratswahlen setzte er sich mit 56,4 Prozent der Stimmen gegen Sebastian Wippel (AfD/35,8 Prozent) durch. Der Einzelbewerber Sylvio Ingo Arndt erreichte 7,8 Prozent. Die Wahlbeteiligung lag bei 39,8 Prozent. Zu diesem „wirklich überragenden persönlichen Erfolg“ gratulierte Landrat Dr. Achim Brötel dem Wahlsieger Stephan Meyer am Montag in einem Schreiben. Darin brachte Landrat Brötel auch seine Erleichterung zum Ausdruck, dass Meyer den Mitbewerber klar hinter sich gelassen hat. „Es tut gut zu sehen, dass Demokraten, wenn sie zusammenstehen, gemeinsam doch eine so deutliche Mehrheit erzielen können“. Das sei nicht zuletzt auch eine hervorragende Grundlage für die Fortführung unserer Kreispartnerschaft. „Darüber freue ich mich auch persönlich sehr“, betonte Brötel. Denn auch 32 Jahre nach der deutschen Wiedervereinigung sei es wichtig, dass Menschen aus Deutschland-Ost und Deutschland-West zusammenkommen und so ganz einfach mehr voneinander lernten. Brötel lud Stephan Meyer deshalb zu einem Antrittsbesuch in den Kreis ein. Eine erste Gelegenheit gebe es vielleicht sogar schon Ende Juli, wenn der noch amtierende Landrat Bernd Lange mit einer Delegation unter anderem die Schlossfestspiele Zwingenberg besucht. Eigentlich wollen Leo Hölzer (Vladimir Burlakov), Adam Schürk (Daniel Sträßer), Esther Baumann (Brigitte Urhausen) und Pia Heinrich (Ines Marie Westernströer) nur lecker Essen gehen. Ein Fall ist gelöst, Feierabend, was würde besser passen, als den Tag beim Chinesen ausklingen zu lassen? Doch natürlich geht das nicht so einfach, bei der Polizei ist man ja irgendwie immer im Einsatz. So klingelt denn flugs ein Handy, einen Einbruch hat es gegeben, eine Tote noch dazu. Eben noch wurden Glückskekse zerbröselt, schon ruft die Arbeit wieder. Doch nicht nur die, denn auch bei Adam Schürk brummt das Handy, am Telefon sein verhasster Vater (Torsten Michaelis). Kurze Zeit später sitzen die beiden einander gegenüber. Es kommt zu einem heftigen Streit mit noch heftigeren Folgen. Parallel dazu erweist sich der Einbruch samt Todesopfer als überaus rätselhaft. Einer der Täter liegt schwerverletzt neben der Toten. Der Safe ist aufgebrochen, darin mal eben um die 60.000 Euro, unangetastet. Was steckt hinter dieser merkwürdigen Gemengelage? Was hat der obskure Dr. Rogall (Michael Rotschopf) damit zu tun? Und was führt Schürks Vater wirklich im Schilde? Worum geht es wirklich? Drei auf Verfolgungsjagd durch einen dunklen Kellergang. April 2020), war klar: Abgesehen von den zu klärenden Fällen geht es hier um die gemeinsame Geschichte von Adam und Leo. Die beiden kennen sich ewig, sind durch dick und dünn gegangen, teilen zudem ein düsteres Geheimnis. Einst haben sie gemeinsam Vater Schürk außer Gefecht gesetzt, viele Jahre hat der Alte im Knast geschmort. Als er endlich entlassen wird, stellt sich Adam und Leo vor allem die Frage, was er wirklich weiß - und was er im Schilde führt. Als Roland Schürk also seinen Sohn zu sich beordert, ahnt man schnell, dass in dessen Wohnzimmer, unmittelbar neben dem Terrarium mit der titelgebenden Schlange, so etwas wie ein Showdown anstehen könnte. Wegzapp-Faktor? Man muss sich schon darauf einlassen, auf diese sprunghafte, manche würden sagen, verwirrende Dramaturgie. Wer hängt hier mit wem zusammen, woher kommen die Infos, was will dieser Rogall und überhaupt - was ist denn nun mit der Schlange los? Und wo kommt der Frosch eigentlich her? Gleichzeitig schält sich immer mehr heraus, dass es womöglich gar nicht so sehr um den Fall, die Fälle geht, sondern um die Frage: Gibt es für Adam Schürk so etwas wie Erlösung? Wie tragfähig ist die Freundschaft zwischen ihm und Leo? Und während man über die beiden Jungs soviel weiß, die brennende Frage: Wann erfahren wir denn mal ein bisschen mehr über ihre Kolleginnen Pia und Esther, außer, dass die eine streng gucken kann und die andere gern mit vollem Mund spricht … Wow-Moment? Mehr zum Thema Wir wollen hier natürlich nichts verraten, aber die Aufklärung eines der beiden Fälle ist schon wirklich schmuck geraten. Beim Reality Check würde die Nummer wohl mit Karacho durchfallen, hier jedoch funktioniert das Ganze als perfide Pointe. Wie war's? 7 von 10 Punkten - alles ein wenig wirr, die Knacki-Klischees zudem stark überzeichnet, dennoch bleibt man dran, an der Viererbande aus Saarbrücken. Mal schauen, wie es weitergeht.

Es war eine große Freude 8 Jubilarinnen und Jubilare persönlich zu gratulieren und die Urkunden für jeweils 40 und 50 Jahre Parteimitgliedschaft zu überreichen. Unsere Kreisvorsitzenden Charlotte Quik und unsere Bundestagsabgeordnete Kerstin Radomski überreichten gemeinsam mit unserer Stadtverbandsvorsitzenden Petra Kiehn die Urkunden für diese bemerkenswerten Leistungen. Rosehip, chai, and darjeeling tea?

Rosehip tea: Which book did you love when you were younger? I was a massive book nerd as a kid and I’ve read so many books! My local library was my best friend until I was about 16. I can’t choose just one book so I’m gonna give you a few. Soul Screamer’s series by Rachel Vincent - honestly the best YA novel series I’ve ever read and I’m currently rereading it. This one has like no fandom and it makes me really sad. This is a supernatural romance series and focuses on Banshee’s and Irish mythology, it does the love triangle right and is overall really solid. I know you as a Twilight blog I love so lemme put it this way. SS is the story where Bella chooses Jacob and its a satisfying ending for all characters, the Edward character also getting paired off. But the lore it builds is really good and if its the world building that you really enjoy in Twilight then this series is definitely for you!  The Ingo Series by  Helen Dunmore - this is my favourite children’s series, I love mermaids and I feel like this did a very good job with them. The magic of this series is so well done, the later plot points as well? Too good to spoil. I still recommend reading this one as it doesn’t feel like a children’s book and its the only thing I’ve ever read that really takes mermaids to another level. Of course Twilight by Stephenie Meyer has to also make an appearance but I think this blog shows my feelings on the book quite well. But the main thing I wanna say is I got into it during the film release of NM and Eclipse and as a teen I really related to Bella in her depression and thats why the books will always be dear to me. Chai: Where do you want to travel next? I struggle to travel because I have chronic pain condition so me and my partner are saving up before we can go anywhere. But I want to go to where my nan lives, it’s been so long since I’ve seen her because of the virus. The beach were she lives is amazing to visit in Fall when its still warm, going to stay there for a week or two always really recharges me and I’ve missed my grandparents.~ But hopefully soon! The whole area is stunning!  Darjeeling: What languages do you speak? I speak English and that’s about it. I studied French until I was 16 but I can’t really remember any of it now. I had French housemates last year and I quickly discovered I can understand way more than I can speak.    This was really long I’m sorry!

'Plant cinema' shows the flow of energy

Nothing works without fuel: plants also depend on fuel for growth and development. In living organisms, fuel comes as the universal energy currency adenosine triphosphate (ATP). An international team of researchers led by the University of Bonn shows how ATP behaves in the different parts of living seedlings and the impact of stress on their fuel status. The results could inform breeding of more resistant crop varieties. This "plant cinema in real time" is now presented by the journal eLIFE.

Led by the two INRES biochemists, scientists from Germany, Italy, China, England and Denmark have developed an innovative way of visualizing ATP in the living plant aided by a fluorescent protein. The team used a method developed by Takeharu Nagai from Osaka in Japan, in which ATP binds to a fluorescent protein from a jellyfish. The Japanese researchers had originally used this technique in mammals, and the researchers at the University of Bonn have now optimized it for use in plants. "This method makes it possible to track where and how much ATP is present in the living plants in real time," says lead author Valentina De Col from the University of Udine (Italy), who completed a research visit at INRES as part of her PhD studies.
