Leo Clarington- RENT Audition

Leo blew out a breath as their name was called, and rubbed their palms against the leg of their pants as they made their way to the stage. This is just a different kind of competition, they said to themselves. “Hello, I’m Leo Clarington and I’m here to support my brother and maybe surprise my boyfriend.  Maybe you have a spot for me in your show,” they explained.   They had already given their song choice to the piano player.  “This is Empty Chairs at Empty Tables from Les Miserables.” Leo took one final breath and began to sing.

You’ve been invited to Santana’s Se7en Deadly Sins birthday party; a sinful soiree to practice mischief and mayhem amidst your friends. This Friday, Club Halo is transforming into a den of sin and it’s going to be one hell of a party. The gates open at 9 pm and the chaos won’t stop until 3 am or until you pass out, whatever happens first. Food and alcohol will be provided. All guests will receive a gift bag courtesy of club owner Mercedes Jones.

INDULGE IN YOUR SINS

A different sin will be assigned to each room or area of the club, with themed décor, props and games to encourage all guests to have a sinfully good time no matter what circle of hell they find themselves in.

ACEDIA – Bean bags and a projector to play video games on can be found in the Sloth area. Don’t worry, you won’t be moving anything other than your fingers… and not even in a wanky way.

SUPERBIA – A photo booth and selfie area will be set up in the Pride & Vanity section. Vogue-offs will be held here, so get ready to react to the flash with your most vain pose.

AVARITIA – The Greed corner features a poker table. $10 = ten poker chips, including a dare chip. If you bet a dare chip and lose, the person who collects it gets to give you a dare. If you win someone’s dare chip, you’ll choose a dare for them to carry out.

LUXURIA – Abandon all hope all ye who enter the Lust-rave space, a room where you can only go in blindfolded, so you’ll rely solely on your other senses to have fun. Unless it’s a voice you recognize, chances are you won’t know you you’re twerking with or who you’re making out with. Blindfolds are included in the gift bag.

Those who don’t dare walk into the Lust-rave space, can partake in a rousing game of Strip Beer Pong. Some things cannot be unseen, so you’re encouraged to only strip down to your underwear. Wear something naughty, something nice or maybe lace to add some spice.

INVIDIA – Who’s got the best dance moves? The best abs? The best bottle juggling skills? Show off what you’ve got and make everyone else green with Envy.

GULA – The Gluttony area has tables loaded with food and drinks for the party-goers. Whether you’re a Sin & Tonic or On the Righteous Rocks kind of person, pick your poison carefully and remember, don’t drink and drive, call-a-cab.

IRA – The Wrath room has an inflatable punch bag and dartboards with famous villain's faces on to let the party guests take their anger out on. Also, there are blank canvases and spray cans for people to write the things they hate or make them angry.

Mercedes Jones Rent Audition

Mercedes hadn’t been on any stage in a long time, but she truly loved music, and signing with Reckless X, working with them it made her want to do more. Auditioning for Rent was something she chose to do on a whim but she wasn’t going in there and half assing anything. She was going to give her all as she always did. Standing backstage she tried to calm her nerves. It was time to get back to singing because it was what she loved to do, not because she had too. 

Hearing her name called, she put on a smile and walked out. “Hi guys, My name is Mercedes Jones and I am auditioning for Joanne. I know that you have plenty of people auditioning and I thank you for your time. Today I will be singing “Defying Gravity” from Wicked. Closing her eyes she got into character looking up to the audience and singing. Pouring everything she had into the song, and her performance. 

Once she was done she took a bow and smiled out. “Thank you so much for giving me a chance to show you what I have.” Walking off the stage she took a deep breath, one she didn’t know she was holding and sighed. Well it was in their hands now.

TEN YEAR REVIEW

Ross debut pop hit song ‘Seductive Desires’ plays in the background. From a small town named Lima, Ohio to dominating the charts with his debut album to portraying an assassin in the blockbuster film, Kill Code, to marrying the love of his life, to parenthood, to creating a dance phenomena that cultivated the world, to giving birth, to getting a word put into the dictionary, and being called a Formatted trio with Beyoncé and Michael Jackson in the world of entertainers. Let’s take a look at the down the ten year road of success and love and family of Ross. Mr. Berry-Clarington. 

Family

Angelic Harmonies of Ross’ head voice and whistles register blends together, as apart of his song ‘Nimbus’ comes on. Family was something that many people didn’t think Ross would make time for or would think that he would want with a hectic career. But that proved to be a lie, when he got engaged to his hometown sweetheart, Leopold Clarington in July 19th of 2022, giving the two time to finish school and for Ross to film the Kill Bill rival Kill Code, while both planning a wedding. They officially tied the knot in July 19th of 2024, two years later the month after Leo graduated school and an endorsement of Apple for Ross - which was profit enough to help them fund their wedding and move to Fresno, California right after the wedding. Before hand they had also started paper work to process an adoption. They went on their honeymoon from July to August. Then moved to California in September 2024. They were able to get their adoption processed and able to officially adopt their daughter, Melody Grace Berry-Clarington in April of 2025, she was 6 at the time. They are a happy three for a while, with Leo and Ross learning how to be fathers and take care of a child that has been through a lot. 

Then two years later, after one of Ross’ highly acclaimed albums and tours, he offers to go off T and carry children for them. Which goes through successful and of course it would be twins. Reed and Lyric Berry-Clarington were born in December of 2027. While Ross took a year hiatus to be with his family, do PTA things for Melody’s school, helping his community, supporting Leo, and his family and friends. Then in 2029 they adopted their fourth child, Apollo, under the belief that Ross had become infertile. But it was okay, because Leo and Ross were still happy to welcome another adopted child into their loving family.  Currently a few months before the reunion they had found out that the infertility thing wasn’t true when Ross passed out at the recording studio. So he decided to just rest for now and spend more time with his family. 

Professional

“Yeah, that’s my shit... HA!” Ross’ voice growled the rap lyric as his song ‘Savage’ started to play in the background. Ross first album was a major hit. It had reached many pop, urban, international, and R&B Charts. We all remember the first pop vibe ‘Seductive Desires’ off of his Blue Moon album - the wind blowing the long blonde hair back, the strut up to the camera, and the ‘Gear Up’ as the beat made us all want to jam. Ross gave us a mouthful he was a handsome trans male, with a powerful versatile and unique voice, he could dance, sing, and act. It was as if you put him on any stage in the world he would fit in: country, rock, pop, rap, whatever. 

As of today he has Four Charting albums, with a  fifth rumored to be in development. Multiple writing credits. 28 Grammys. 3 Headlined Tours. A Movie under his belt. He has also worked with Apple, Samsung, and Nike. 

What many don’t know is Ross gives back to a lot of charities, but he does it without the press knowing - for instant some of the suits he’s worn in music video’s or in performances he’s donated to foster LGBT+ teens. 

Love

“They are my everything... when I happen to stumble upon a nasty comment on the internet, they tell me the sweetest thing and I just automatically forget about every worry, doubt, bad thing that anyone has to say... I love them with my entire being.” - a snippet from an interview of Ross being asked about Leo.  Ross is extremely happy in his marriage. There is not a thing that he would change. He would forever stay married to Leo and give them the world until the day he dies. He credits their marriage being so great and lasting because they still have the newness and passion that they had when they both met each other. They are still learning each other and still growing. Having a date night every week. Taking time out to spoil and cradle their love for each other.

On September 4th, April Rhodes and Maribel Lopez are combining forces for the greater good, and putting together a fun charity event. A BLIND DATE CHARITY EVENT. For this event all proceeds will be going to the Soup Kitchen & Shelter in Lima Heights. This event takes place on Saturday September 4th at Rinky Dinks which will be closed to only those participating in the event.

Pairings will be announced a little later this week.

Do You Get A Deja Vu...

Remember when Ross said that he was going to not be at the talent show, well that was a lie. He spent the entire day at the airport waiting for a good friend. It’s a friend he met when he was doing backing vocals on her ‘Sour’ album. He got her to agree to come to the talent show. As Ross and Olivia enter the building ‘Traitor’ blast the speakers.

The party was in full swing when Leo finally made their way to the bar and found Stevie behind it.  They didn’t drink a whole lot to begin with, but it seemed like mostly so far when they’d gone to the bar, someone else had been working.  The night had been interesting so far, they had enjoyed the performances so far, but it was still pretty early.  “How’s the bartend-off going?” they asked.  “I’ll take two of your personal specialties.”
