“How does my kid like you better than me?” He grumbles, and you stick your tongue out, as Megumi’s long fingers slip off your tummy.

“Everyone likes me better, Old man.” Megumi grins at that, and Toji loses his shit, but Megumi is looking at you contemplatively. “What is it, Megs?”

“You look so happy. Glowing.” You blush now.

“I am happy, I really am.”

“Then… fuck it. I guess I’m gonna be a big brother.”

“Yay!” You smack a kiss on his cheek, and Toji smiles at the two of you, devious fucking smile, that makes you both look at him, wide eyed.

“And you’re gonna have a stepmom.”

“Yuck!”

Present- Toji’s POV

Things absolutely changed that day, now Megumi is so sweet, as Yuji and Nobara take turns feeling your tummy, and Toji is making everyone plates, stealing glances at his pretty fiance. One he can’t wait to make his wife, but you’re waiting until after the baby for that, you do have a pretty little diamond ring on your finger that glints in those lights now.

He watches his son laugh next to you, as you carry his daughter, and fuck if you don’t make him a sappy ‘old man’ damn brat that you are. As you’re all flushed and beautiful, glowing so bright, your eyes sparkling as you talk to your best friends. Fuck he’s a lucky man, you’re a goddess to him, you always were, but now you’ve got that tummy, those curves, in that pretty white dress?

You look like Venus herself.

He would probably just call you a sexy lil doll, but he does think you’re his goddess, damn you make him corny. If someone told Toji Fushiguro he’d be such a sap he would never believe it. Megumi feels the baby kick again, and Toji’s heart finally feels full, this void he’d had for so long since he had Megumi was filled, he was so lucky the kid wants to have him in his life.

He’s so lucky he has you three, you, Megs and the baby, even your friends who drive him insane, he just wants you happy. And as you peek at him, sipping on some sparkling water, and you look at him with such love in your pretty eyes, that brilliant smile, it’s like you’re clenching his heart with your tiny little hand.

How was Toji ever lucky enough to have you, and to have a family like this? After fucking up so much, after being just a bum for so long, how has Toji finally got his shit together, finally got a fiance. A beautiful one, a sweet one (lets be real, you’re kind of mean as fuck and bitchy, but Toji loves that) sweet when you want dick, but how’d he even get lucky enough for that?

He peeks and sees Shiu has texted him, and smiles a bit at the phone as he’s grabbing more drinks for everyone. Shiu still hates Toji, and Toji doesn't blame him, but he’s a good damn dad, better than Toji was with Megs. He hopes he can be that good of a dad to your baby, he damn well will try.

He’s picturing a pretty little daughter now, and he can’t stop the stupid smile on his face.

3 months later- Labor day

“Toji Fushiguro, I hate you and your big ass head! Ow fuck!” You scream, holding his hand so tight he’s wincing, scowling right back at you.

“You got the big ass head, blame your damn dad!”

“Excuse me!?” Shiu shouts, looking up from where he has his face covered, terrified as your contractions get quicker. “You got a big ass head Toji!”

“Fuck yes he does. Ugh! You suck so bad I can’t do this!” You’re sobbing at the pain, and Megumi stands then, shaking his head.

“Can’t do it. Dad, be supportive, fuck. Shiu, c’mon… coffee?” Megumi suggests, and Shiu jumps up immediately.

“Cocaine maybe, fuck.”

“Dad!” You scowl and he grimaces.

“You’re scary kiddo. You deserve her to break your hand, Toji.” Shiu says then, and they run out, leaving you with your mean, big headed fiance.

“Brat too tiny can’t have a kid right?”

“Fuck you I can!”

“Mmm, sure you can.”

“Toji I’ll never have one again, I swear ugh!” You squeeze his hand again, screaming out, as the doctors rush in, and they take your vitals.

“She’s not dilating, we can’t keep going much longer, it's been ten hours.” The doctor says, and Toji frowns then, holding your hand tightly.

“Shit.”

“Shit, shit what!?”

“C section, Megs was one too.”

“Because your big ass head, oh fuck you!” He scowls.

“You’re a damn brat!”

“You’re a dick, old man!”

“Ahem. We can give it a little longer, but we really need to get you prepped in case. We can up the pitocin and try that if you want? What’s best for you mom?” They ask you then, and you are glaring right at him, as he is you, then his face changes, as he holds your tummy, and kisses you, right in front of blushing nurses and that doctor, sighing against your lips.

“Scared, Toji.” You admit, and he nods then, head resting on yours, as you feel your heart race.

“It’ll be fine, doll. I got you. Right here with you, yeah?”

You kiss him back, hands entangling in his hair, so messy from how much he’d been messing with it. “Right here with me.”

“Oh my god! I’m a grandpa!” Shiu is holding your beautiful little girl later on, as you’re a sweaty, exhausted mess, having this baby was not easy, thanks to Toji’s big ass head, you’d had a lot of trouble, but she was here, no c section thank goodness, and perfect. And you were safe and sound. Your heart aches as you see your dad smiling so big.

“She’s beautiful.” You whisper, as Toji sits next to you in the bed, holding up water for you to sip, smiling softly.

“You did so good, doll. She’s beautiful just like you.” He whispers, kissing your sweaty forehead, and you smile tremulously, as you sip the icy water, sighing.

“She has your eyes, Toji.” You say then, as now Megumi holds his little sister, and you watch the usually serious Megumi melt as he looks at her.

“She’s so beautiful. Hey little sis.” Megumi cooes softly, and you melt even more, as Toji is stroking your hair back, sighing.

“I’m so fuckin happy.” He murmurs in your ear, and you touch his face gently, smiling up at him, eyes glimmering with tears. “Ya made me so happy, doll, I don’t know how to even describe it. Heart… fucking hurts.”

“Aw, you’re such a sap, old man.” You tease, and he narrows his eyes, but you peck a weak kiss on his stubbled chin. “I’m kidding. Toji I couldn’t be happier.”

Megumi hands Toji your baby girl again, and he grins so big, as she grabs one of his big fingers with her tiny little fist. The sight of your beautiful little girl in Toji’s big arms makes you wanna have another damn baby, even after all this, even after being uncomfortable this last month and having a hard time. You’d give this man anything, when you watch him light up.

He gently hands you her, your sweet little baby Mio. She opens those dark green eyes, just like Megs and Toji, but she has your hair color, and your nose, you’re tapping her nose gently, watching her little mouth form into an O, and you smile softly as your heart swells. You have never felt this, this love, you love Toji so much but this is so different, it fills you with so much emotion you feel them spilling over through your eyes, tears falling down your cheeks.

“I love you, little Mio. So, much. I’m your mommy!” You whisper, sitting up with Toji’s help further, as she blinks those beautiful eyes, and you put her forehead to your lips, inhaling her. “She smells so good!?”

“The baby smell.” Toji and Shiu say, and you smile at them both, as your dad comes and kisses the top of your head, then bends down and kisses Mio’s downy little head.

“Do you all still remember that? In like the fifties?” Megumi says, earning your giggle and their scowl.

“Brats.” Toji grumbles.

“Brats.” Shiu agrees, then taps Mio’s nose, and yours. “Look, that’s your nose alright, isn’t it? She’s so pretty like you.”

“Aw thank you dad, she’s even more beautiful.” You all coo over her, and soon Megumi and Shiu eventually leave, after saying their goodbyes. It’s you with Toji in the quiet room, holding your baby. You’re so tired, but so happy, your heart so full as you feel this contentment and excitement, as Toji is holding you to his side.

“Hi, sweetie, it’s your dad. Welcome to the world, little one.” You’re crying again, at how sweet he is. “Kept us waiting, had to make an entrance, huh?”

“Dramatic like me.” You giggle, and he grins, and you start to feel exhaustion hit, sighing as you lean into his side.

“You’re gonna be the best dad any little baby could have, you know.” Toji blinks a bit then, looking away, you watch that Adam’s apple bob as he gulps.

“I’m gonna do everything to try.”

“I know you will, I’m so happy you’re her dad.”

“You’re her mommy. And you’ll be the best. I love you, doll, fuck you’ve made me so happy.” He whispers, and you kiss him, as your baby begins to let out a cute little cry, then it gets loud, and you laugh a bit. “She’s gonna be so bratty, I’m screwed.”

“So screwed.” You agree, grinning, as Toji helps you pull your breast out, and he exhales, as you hiss a bit when you see the milk drops. “Ugh, feel like a cow!”

“It’s beautiful, doll. Don’t.” He says gruffly, and then he helps put your baby's little mouth on your nipple. She struggles to latch, her little fists punching you practically, with sharp nails. Toji chuckles. “She’s vicious, isn’t she?”

“Jesus, guess that’s what happens with us as parents. Ow! Mio!” You’re huffing, wriggling with discomfort as her gums bite down, then finally she latches, and sucks, her puffy cheeks moving as she drinks. Finally you ease, exhaling. “She’s got it!”

“She’s a pro, too. Ya alright doll?” He asks, brow furrowing, and you nod then, letting him kiss your temple as your little girl eats.

“It feels so weird, but I’m good. It will take practice, the nurse said.”

“You’ll do great, already know it. Gonna be the best at this parenting shit, both of us, won’t we?” He nudges you with a grin, and you feel yourself getting so sleepy, feeling such warmth. You nod.

“We will do such a good job. I know it. She’s everything now.” You caress her cheek again, love bursting from every part of you.

“You’re both everything to me.” He corrects, and then sighs. “And Megs, of course, he was so happy wasn’t he?”

“He was oh my god! I knew it.”

“We’ll have him watch the kid so we can go fuck-”

“Toji!” You gasp, and he just grins shameless and lewd. “Knew you were being too nice, old perv.”

“Old, knocked you the fuck up. Should do it again.”

“Fuck no!” You stick your tongue out, as your baby now is asleep, no longer sucking, and you smile at her little face, a pretty gummy smile “Oh my god!”

“She’s milk drunk. Megs got like this.” You giggle then, looking up at him, seeing his dark green eyes, the same color as your daughter’s eyes, so lit up.

“Was Megumi a serious kid?”

“I didn’t know him well enough.” He frowns, and you sigh.

“I’m sorry-”

“Nah, doll, it’s okay. I’ll know everything about her, little Mio, I swear. I’ll never leave your side.” His words break your heart into pieces, you hear the pain in his voice as he takes his daughter in his arms.

“Toji you will do great. I know it.” You say softly, and he nods, as you wipe a tear, making him scowl.

“Ain’t crying.”

“Oh no, saw nothing.” He snorts, and you smile, as emotions run through you. “I love you, Toji.”

“I love you too, doll. So much.” He kisses your forehead, and then your baby’s head, and you lean into his side, watching him, feeling so content, as he whispers sweet nothings into her ear, and you’re so tired now you can’t keep awake.

“I’m gonna nap, okay?” You mumble, and he nods, easing off the bed.

“Yeah, sleep, I got her, doll. She’s okay.” And you doze off, feeling safe, feeling loved, feeling complete.

When you wake up, you’re surprised to find it’s night, and the room is dimly lit, just the moon coming through the window, and the hospital lights are all off aside from a little one around your bed, casting a soft glow over everything. Toji’s still there, sitting in a chair beside the bed, holding your sleeping baby, looking down at her with a soft, loving smile on his face.

You sit up and he looks over at you, eyes tired but so, so happy.

“You okay?”

“Yeah, just tired. Did I miss anything?” You ask nervously, and he chuckles, shaking his head.

“Nothin’. She’s just been sleeping like a rock. Like you, lazy little thing.” He smirks, and you grin at his words, watching as he adjusts her in his arms.

“Am not lazy, just had your baby!”

“Mmm, you were snoring though.”

“Was not!” He grins, and places your baby down in the little bassinet now, all swaddled up. “Come here.” You whisper, and he stands, stretching his long limbs and then he’s leaning down, pressing a gentle kiss to your lips, as you kiss back, feeling that warmth spread through your body.

Toji sits in the bed, laying on his side, pulling you to him, eyes drinking you in. “Fuck, you’re so beautiful, doll. You’re a mommy now.” He whispers, stroking your messy hair, and you snuggle to him, his hard, warm body, where you feel so safe, as he strokes your back up and down in the little hospital bed.

“Thank you, for everything. For being here with me, for being with me. Toji I can never imagine being without you.” You say then, and he exhales, gulping, his eyes lidded and tired like yours.

“Where else would I be, doll, but right here?” He kisses you again, and you hold onto him, feeling the love in his arms, so strong and safe, as you feel this is exactly where you’re supposed to be. Toji slips a hand to your breast then, and you squeak, earning his chuckle. “What, they’re hot.”

“You perv, I just had a baby!” You whisper, and he grins then, kissing down the side of your neck. “I feel gross!”

“Nah, you’re always sexy, even now. Enjoy that break you get for what, a couple weeks?” He nips your throat, and you gasp at it. How can he be such a hornball, damn old man.

“Like a month, fuck don’t do that.” He is kissing your neck again where he’d just bit, pulling back and smirking down at you, tiling your chin up and cupping your cheeks now.

“Enjoy that break, gonna knock ya up again.” You smack at him and he’s just grinning, white teeth stark against dark stubble.

“Will not, gonna tie those tubes.”

“Better not, brat.”

“Mmhmm! Now shut up, and lemme sleep. Snuggle me?” He smiles softer now, nodding and holding you tight against him, as your arms wrap his torso, and you feel sleep tugging at you again.

“Love you, lil doll.” He whispers against your hair.

“Love you, Toji.”

Debut: Plants vs. Zombies 2

People just don't call their tall and skinny friends "String Bean" anymore, like they used to. I have never witnessed that happen, but I think they used to. Similarly, people just don't call their green and coiled friends "Spring Bean" yet, like they're going to. We all have that friend!

I never thought much about Spring Bean. Then recently, I decided to think about Spring Bean. Hmm... heh. Yeah. Spring Bean is funny! I like this bean. And Spring Bean is cute! Chili Bean is funny because it farts, Sun Bean is funny because its face is weird, and Laser Bean is not funny OR cute and I really dislike looking at it, especially its teeth and gums. I like to look at Spring Bean! Nothing wrong with this bean.

Spring Bean usually looks like he has no idea what's going on, but then once in a while he gets a bit Cheeky! If a zombie is near, he will flatten all funny-like, and then SPROING them away. This is very useful in some levels of Pirate Seas, where the pesky Swashbuckler Zombies can be launched into the ocean as quickly as they enter the playing field! An insta-kill plant, specializing in a particularly annoying zombie that skips over most of the lawn? Sounds quite useful indeed! And it's REUSABLE? I love recycling! What's the catch?

Well, not to sound like a meanie beanie, but Spring Bean is not actually very good whatsoever most of the time. I gassed him up back there- any self-respecting bean needs a fart joke- but Spring Bean kind of sucks! If he was a quirky thematic level element in a vegetable-based platformer, he would be perfect. But alas!

Everything I have said about Spring Bean is true! He is the perfect counter for Swashbuckler Zombies, instantly kills them, and can perform his ability multiple times. He can even launch regular zombies into nearby water! But the thing is, that's basically it. Spring Bean has One use in One world, and not even the entirety of that world. When Imp Cannons get introduced shortly after, Spring Bean is quickly overwhelmed, only able to launch one zombie at a time. After each launch, the darn guy goes to sleep, and is easily eaten by any other zombies that appear in the meantime! I like to Take A Break too, but if some bad guys were trying to eat my flesh, I don't think I would be able to feel very restful! To be honest!

In this game about plants fighting zombies, Spring Bean is not a plant that is good at fighting zombies, but here I am writing a post about him, so it should come as no surprise that I like Spring Bean. He does what he does. He does it well Sometimes. I would like it if he was more useful overall, of course- I can use my friend Kernel-pult as a primary attacker in any level I please- but a sort of pathetic little thing like this is so endearing to me! Some people on the internet get attached to pathetic middle-aged men, I get attached to a pathetic Bean. This is genuinely really cool of me!

I am not just going to provide my own opinion on this post, though. That would be biased. Let's hear the thoughts of someone who knows Spring Bean very closely... his older brother, Sun Bean! Sun Bean dearly loves his bean brothers, even though the almanac indicates that he thinks Spring Bean is "just plain lazy" and finds him "exasperating". I think that's fair. I've not once seen any other bean snooze, after all!

I quite like this Spring Bean plush. It's so cute! Spring Bean is already cute, but this off-model one is even cuter, looking so inquisitive about something up and to the right. Some kind of butterfly it's never seen before, but it's not that into entomology, so it's not EXTREMELY impressed, just rapt with mild-to-adequate curiosity. Be more like this bean in your everyday life, taking in the joys of the world! If you take this advice to heart, you will genuinely be able to say that Spring Bean from Plants Vs. Zombies 2 changed your life.

ynclo I'm glad to say that even after all this time I can still let myself create the way I do, it's been three months since my last collection and I decided to take a break before starting again. A lot of things have happened in the last year and I'm still healing but with lots of people I love (and that love me back) by my side; it's not what you asked, but I got my first photoshoot as a model rather than a designer and wish to share it with you... It's a small project I had with @lukasabbat and now we can share it with you all. Please enjoy!

She's definitely got the style.

It had been a long few weeks. You had just moved to a new country, started a new school, and left all of your friends and family behind. LA was its own world that both gabi and your father seemed to know like the back of their hand, but you, you were lost. Not only did you start a new school, you started in the middle of the year. The homework never seemed to end and lately it seems like thats all you had been doing. You would wake up, go to school, come home, and then sit either at the kitchen table or in your room just studying. Gabi and your dad knew how hard you where working, but they didn't realize how much of a toll it was taking on you. 

Your morning routine was cut and dry, your alarm would go off at 6:30, you would wake up to snap and insta notifications from your friends on the other side of the world, and your hopes of the day being better than the last would vanish. Then you’d do your morning routine and go to school, where you pretty much sat in silence while your teachers dished out obscene amounts of homework, then you’d go home and do it all again. 

But today was different. You woke up on your own today, three hours late. Typically, your alarm went off as the sun was starting to rise, but today, the bright abrasive light was already pouring into your room, you knew something wasn't right. You blinked a few times, confused, before sitting up and glancing at your phone. 9:45 AM. 

“Oh fuck!” you spring out of bed and haphazardly throw on a shirt and pair of pants that were crumpled up in the corner of your room for god knows how long, and then rush down the stairs into the kitchen. 

When you get down there you see Gabi sitting at the kitchen island scrolling through her phone while drinking a cup of coffee, she looks way too calm. Right now the whole world seems to calm, how can you feel like the world is about to collapse while someones just sitting across from you drinking coffee. 

Gabi notices you set your bag down on the kitchen table and go to grab your shoes. 

“Well good morning”

“My alarm didnt go off and im so late gabi, i had a test and homework, fuck!”

“Hey, hey, calm down, i..i turned your alarm off this morning.”

That was something that you were not expecting. “What?! Why?” 

“You needed a break. Your dad agreed.”

“I don't need a break, I need to go to school.” 

“y/n, you look like your about to cry, 

Your brows furrowed. “Wait, so I’m just... not going to school today?”

“Nope. Today, you’re coming with me to set.”

You stood there for a moment, your brain still trying to process what she’d just said. No school? Today? You couldn't even remember the last time you’d had a day off.

“But I have so much work to do, Gabi. I can’t just skip it.”

Gabi sighed softly, setting her coffee cup down and standing up. She walked over to where you were standing, placing a gentle hand on your shoulder. Her expression softened, and for the first time in what felt like forever, there was no pressure to keep up appearances.

“Y/n, I get it. I do. But you’ve been going non-stop. You’re not just ‘catching up’ on schoolwork—you're drowning in it. And it’s taking a toll on you. You can’t keep pushing yourself like this.”

You opened your mouth to argue, but she continued before you could get a word out.

“I’m not asking you to quit everything. Just take a breather. You deserve it. You’ve worked so hard. I know it’s been hard, being here. But you don’t have to do it all alone.”

You felt a lump form in your throat, the weight of everything you hadn’t been able to say in weeks pressing against your chest.

“I’m not alone.” You murmured. “I have you and Dad…”

Gabi’s eyes softened even more, and she stepped closer, pulling you into a tight hug. “I know, baby. I know. But sometimes, we all need a break. It’s okay to lean on people, even if it feels hard.”

You let yourself sink into the hug, feeling something inside you crack just a little. Maybe it was the weight of it all finally being acknowledged, or maybe it was the fact that Gabi was right. You’d been running on empty for so long, your heart heavy with homesickness and the pressure of trying to keep up.

“Okay… I’ll go,” you whispered, pulling back slightly to look up at her. 

She chuckled softly, ruffling your hair. “I’ve got you covered, kid. Plus, I think you’ll like the set. It’s a lot more chill than you think, and theres plenty of people who really want to meet you because i may or may not brag about you to them.”

You cracked a small smile, feeling the tension in your shoulders ease just a bit. “Deal.”

And for the first time in weeks, you didn’t feel like you were drowning.

Gabi grabbed her bag, slipping into her shoes as she turned to you with a smirk. “Come on, let’s go.”

The drive to the set felt strange. The city of LA, which had always felt so vast and isolating to you, now seemed a little less intimidating. Gabi had the radio on low playing softly in the background as you stared out the window, your mind still buzzing with everything you’d left behind.

By the time you arrived at the set, the world outside seemed a little less daunting and you where less on edge about missing school. “Let’s do this,” Gabi said with a grin, her hand on your back as she guided you towards the set.

You tried to soak in everything happening around you. It was like stepping into a different world . You’d never really imagined this side of things you never really thought about gabi’s job. The moment you two walked into the building you felt out of place, everyone looked so nice and put to together, and then there was you, an odd little teenager just standing there. You had never felt more out of place and in the way, But then Gabi caught your eye and waved you over, pulling you along as she greeted a few more people. “This is my stepdaughter, Y/n,” she introduced you to one of the photographers, a tall woman with short blonde hair and a friendly smile. “She’s decided to join me for the day.”

The photographer smiled warmly at you. “Nice to meet you, Y/n. Welcome to the madness.”

You are finally feeling a little more relaxed as Gabi led you to a couch off to the side, where you could watch the action unfold. As you sat down, Gabi plopped beside you, her energy contagious. She grabbed a bottle of water from the cooler, handing it to you with a smile.

“Don’t let all the chaos scare you,” Gabi said, her voice a little softer now. “Just breathe. I know it’s a lot, but i really want you here. 

“I don’t know, Gabi…” you started, biting your lip nervously as you glanced around. “Everyone looks so busy. I don’t even know what I’m supposed to be doing here, it just feels like im in the way. 

She laughed, nudging you gently. “Hey, trust me, this is literally what i do for a living and I always feel like im in the way. You’re just here to hang out and have fun. Watch me mess up the pictures, and you’ll feel way better about yourself.”

You smiled, your shoulders relaxing a little. 

She gave you a knowing look, her smile softening. “I get it. You’ve been working so hard lately. Just let go for a little bit, okay? Besides, I’m pretty sure you could rock a photoshoot if you wanted to. Just say the word.”

You raised an eyebrow. “I very much think that that is a terrible idea.”

Gabi laughed. “I mean, you’ve got the look, kid. Who knows? You might end up being a superstar, too.”

She said it with such genuine affection that you couldn't help but feel a little lighter. She wasn’t just your stepmom—she was a friend, someone who made you feel like you belonged in a world that had felt so foreign for so long.

You were running, feeling the sweat drops sliding down your face. Your legs felt tired, but you knew that if you stopped now, you’d likely collapse on the ground. Still, you kept increasing the speed on the treadmill, wanting to challenge yourself more.

“Are you done? We need to talk.” Jesse was beside you on another treadmill, but he was still, just leaning against it, watching you. You stopped the machine, gradually reducing the speed.

“I hope this isn’t bad news. I’ve had to put up with a lot from those two this week; I don’t plan on hearing from you that everything’s going wrong now,” you said before starting to drink water to hydrate your dry throat. The truth was, you had started frequenting the campus gym much more than before because it was unbearable to hear Ellie talk about Dina or see Ellie and Dina acting cute in the apartment.

Acting like it didn’t bother you was becoming a very difficult task, and there were times when you would simply cut Ellie off mid-conversation and lock yourself in your room. The next day, you’d have to lie about something. You couldn’t bear the thought that the small plan you had with Jesse would fail. You had been helping him with things like knowing where Dina was at any given time, if she was excited about some new show, if she had any other favorite candies, or to keep Ellie busy so he could have some alone time with Dina.

While Dina’s visits had been decreasing, you still saw her around the house. That wasn’t enough for you; she had to disappear from your lives.

“I’ve been thinking that maybe you should participate more too.”

“I already do. It’s not easy keeping them away.”

“No, I mean you should start seducing Ellie,” you frowned at his words, confused about what he meant. “I can win Dina back, but likewise, Ellie could give it a shot, as both are currently single and Ellie’s interest lies solely with Dina, I think.”

You nodded slowly, seeing the point of his words. You hadn’t thought about also having Ellie eating out of your hand; she had to desire you as much as you did her.

“Well, Ellie and I are going to my vacation home next weekend for Spring Break. I can try something there; we’ll be alone for two days before my family arrives.”

“I know. I have a date with Dina that and this weekend.”

“A date?”

“Well, she’s coming to my house to help me study,” Jesse clarified, handing you your bag. “Keep me informed if anything changes between you and Ellie.”

“The same goes for you” you grabbed your bag and waved him goodbye as you left the gym.

Whistling, you went through your phone, swiping insta stories ¡Bingo! They were on a date in some place so you had the house by yourself for maybe a couple hours. The bus took it’s time to arrive but the trip to the apartment was quick.

You were going to shower, sleep and maybe fantasize a little bit. You could wake up on a Saturday morning and start scheming from the very first ray of sunlight.

And you did. Your whole week revolve around Ellie and being in her space more than anything, pleasing her, hanging out with her, making excuses just to have her by your side.

“I just need some help to prepare things for the trip” you would say declining the call of Dina on her phone while she was in the shower “I want to have a great time, I’m so tired of studying all my free time”

“I can help, yeah” Her voice sounded a little muffled because of the water running, you were mesmerized looking at her figure, at least, the shadow. “I just have to let Dina know, we’ve made plans, maybe you can tag along?”

You? Tag along? Why did it had to be you the one tagging along and not Dina? You huffed in annoyance.

“Can you pass me my towel?”

“You could always get it yourself, I’ve seen you naked before”

“I don’t want to wet the floor!” The water stop running and she popped he head and her arm, waving it so you could give her the towel. You were fast to leave the phone where she left it before, you threw the towel at her.

Sighs left your dry mouth as you remember. It’s been hard this week, so hard to balance cheer practice, studies, keep Ellie around, keep Ellie’s phone close, keep Jesse informed, keep Dina away, make Jesse inform you, stay pretty, stay consistent, don’t stop the motion.

The Friday morning, you were in the library, first time of the week that you actually spent time alone. Not fully since you met Jesse at first to talk about them and after collecting and exchanging information you went to the furthest table to study and concentrate in your work.

Now you were gathering your books and laptop because Ellie had sent you a message saying she was going home already, that she was going to pick you up, that you should be ready. You saw her at the door, but she wasn’t alone and seemed to be arguing with the other person.

With every step you took, you could see more of the other person’s face, it was Dina. They both fell silent the moment you opened the door and greeted them, Dina looked you up and down and turned her attention back to Ellie “Please don’t stop talking to me this week, we’re both angry about different things and it’s best if we calm down and talk another time”.

And with that she walked into the library bumping your shoulder on purpose, you opened your mouth offended and turned to Ellie “What is her problem with me? Just know that I’m holding back because it’s your something, but otherwise…”

“I don’t even know if we’re still a thing” she muttered grabbing your backpack and starting to walk “Come on, we need to pack our bags for the Easter trip.”

You nodded looking inside the library as Dina and Jesse seemed to be studying together while laughing, you couldn’t be happier. The plan was working, but it wouldn’t be complete until Ellie and Dina broke up completely.

When you got home, you went into your room and saw that your bed was full of clothes and your travel bag was almost full. You sighed as you got down to work and finished packing your bag and cleaning your room, once you finished you went into Ellie’s room only to find her lying on top of the pile of clothes. “What are you doing? We’re supposed to be out of here in less than two hours and I remind you that you’re supposed to drive there.”

“I don’t even know what to put in.”

“Ellie, you’re like an NPC, you always wear the same clothes, just put three pairs of trousers, five shirts, one pair of pyjamas and two swimming trunks, we’ll swap clothes if we have to.”

“I’ll pass, how about I stay here? I wouldn’t want to spoil your holiday with your family.”

“No way, you’re family too, my mother loves you as if you were her daughter, I’ll help you!”

‘Like a daugther soon to be in law’ you thought, pushing her to the edge of the bed and starting to look through her clothes to see what she could and couldn’t wear. It didn’t take long and Ellie took the opportunity to clean her room and prepare some snacks for mid-trip.

Soon you were both changed into comfortable clothes and inside the car ready for the journey. Oh, what a trip this one was going to be ¿Ellie and Dina upset with each other? The cream decorating the cupcake ¿You maintaining her occupied so she could barely have time to check on her phone and lose contact with Dina while Jesse did his thing? Cherry on TOP.

What I absolutely love about Elucien is that there's no need to come up with complicated theories on how they would end up together.

I don’t have to concoct a mother-mate, cauldron-mate, Aussie-mate, or seat-mate theory. Or theorize on how to break what a 15,000-year-old being says is unbreakable. I don’t have to twist their personalities. I rest easy knowing that Spring is a huge part of the next book, a court intertwined with Lucien, his unresolved wounds still festering. I don’t have to theorize that Elain is Balthazar so I can justify a link between her and Ramiel. I don’t have to ignore massive canon lines like how Azriel has no intentions of pursuing Elain, or that he was right about staying away from her.

I rest assured that Lucien can talk about Vassa but still look at Elain with longing, and that he has never said anything that caused her to look at him with hurt and confusion. I don’t have to read between the lines about how Lucien feels for her because his expressions are so visible to other people in the room. I don’t have to gaslight myself that half of the BC isn't canon. I don’t have to hope that someone dies in order for them to be together.

It really is as simple as SJM giving Elain and Lucien her version of a happily ever after by making them mates. It is as simple as reading how the mating bond affected others from its inception to the present, even 15,000 years after.

The only thing I have to struggle with is their lack of interactions, but I don’t care because I want to read how they fall in love on the page. I like where they are now because this is how the tropes start.

Besides, it cannot be a slow burn or a reluctant fated mates if these two are even remotely interested in each other, and we know SJM doesn’t do insta-love that often comes with the fated mates trope.

We are already told they will be together. Their book will show us how.
