A virus has gone into the Chaotic’s system, any player that got coded in Perim will become a zombie like glitch instead of disappearing. Any player that contact a glitching player well begin slowly glitching themselves. The Codemasters order a shutdown of the transport center to prevent glitch players from entering Chaotic.
However, not every player reported to back before the shutdown. Those who are trapped in Perim must avoid the infected players until a way is found to stop the glitching from spreading or found another way back to Chaotic.

Yes I love the robot fellas, they're a bit sassy which I find cute. The idea of them playing cards is kinda adorable I must admit, especially if it's like just go fish or something plain instead of the Chaotic card game. They see enough of the game during the day!
Though I like the idea of Codemasters having the robots stand in as therapists of sorts, I must admit a thought of 'the robots can hear about the going ons from all sorts of players all around and use that information to send back to Codemasters' popped up which was quite interesting I think… which made me think about all the robots casually flying around and catering to everyone and just caaaaaaasually being able to record/feed all that info back to Codemasters. Do I think Codemasters need random tidbits from Chaotic players? Nah. Do I think it's a funny idea regardless? Yah. I suppose most info would be useless, but it could help subtly catch kids who are trying to do something bad, like… well… blowing up rare locations perhaps??? The thought as well giving robots more personalities and even letting kids trust them enough to talk to them if they're going through troubling things, would that not help more info to spill over that they can send to Code Masters ??? Heck yea…
I like the sassiness of the robots, and I think that if the show had a reoccurring robot (say one who always happens to serve food to the main four) it could've been very cute and funny. Because the Port Court has different hubs for each Code Master and their dromes, the idea of having robots from each area having different personalities corresponding to the hub they are in could've been interesting too (perhaps they could be colour coded to the area/CM hub they're in to further indicate where in the Port Court you are?). And although it wouldn't work forever as the audience would catch on, I like the idea of subtly showing the personality type of the Code Master Tom/co could face later on by showing the robots acting out in similar but smaller ways. Crellen for example is a bit more mild and a role model type, so the robots being more mild in personality and maybe even giving advice would be a hint as to how Crellen might act in a CM match. The 'air' of a certain hub might help prep you for how you should prepare for a CM match too. Even if it's a subtle difference I think it would help to make each hub more unique and would give a good understanding of where you are in the Port Court when the animation budget doesn't allow you to have a bunch of really unique areas to show off lol. Give me more train rides when this show comes back in 13293 years!!! Sorry I got carried away but I digress! I love the robots so much… they are just little guys…

New Game Publisher "The CoLab" Launches with Focus on Developer Collaboration
There’s a new indie game publisher on the scene! The CoLab has officially launched in the UK, and instead of competing with developers, they’re all about collaboration. Founded by three gaming industry veterans—Darren Newnham (ex-United Label CEO), Mark Faulkner (ex-Jagex director), and John Lewis (ex-Codemasters art director)—the company wants to create a more supportive space for game creators,…

PC Engine - Moto Roader MC
Title: Moto Roader MC / モトローダーMC
Developer/Publisher: NCS Masaya
Release date: 18 December 1992
Catalogue No.: NSCD2015
Genre: Top-Down Racing
Format: Super CD-ROM2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unlike the previous two HuCard Moto Roader games, this one no longer draws inspiration from Codemasters' Micro Machines, instead electing to take inspiration from Atari's Super Sprint. If you played Super Sprint in the arcades or NES/Famicom, you will come to love this one quite a fair bit. Nice visual cutscenes to get the action pumping into your veins quite a fair bit.

F1 '06 + feels and sounds great + career mode is very cool - PSP version is too clunky feeling, analog stick just doesn't feel great for that kind of game - PS2 version relies too much on pressure sensitive buttons and the pit stop is basically broken for other controllers - PS3 version does not emulate well - oil spills - wet racing far too punishing - no Spa or Austria :( F1 Challenge 99-02 + incredibly immersive and full of options I think every F1 game should consider + having multiple then finished seasons means better freedom adapting them - just too stiff-feeling, even after hours of testing different control and wheel configurations, sensitivity settings, deadzones, etc - VB mod installation requires the developer to respond to your e-mail and I wish I could JUST get modern seasons instead of everything - traction and stability difficult to understand
F1 23 and other Codemasters titles + the easiest to set up and start a lobby for friends + great amount of lobby options to make the experience smooth for everyone + graphics and audio work exactly as expected + controller and wheel feel amazing - requires EACH PLAYER to either own a Game Pass/EA Play subscription (only applies for previous year's game) or to pay SEVENTY DOLLARS - lacks settings that previous games got right - lack of special liveries are a let down
F1 Grand Prix (PSP) - this game is horrible New Star GP + cool homage to the sport + different decades' cars make a difference + tracks are interesting - AI's performance makes no sense at all - hard tires feel awful - career asking for perfection while actively trying to make you lose is a problem
Horizon Chase Turbo Senna Forever DLC + fun as fuck + does accurately depict the experience of watching Senna race by making you yell obscenities at Prost - retro top gear style F1 game not really what I'm looking for when I want to race
no F1 game feels quite right... the pain... the suffering...

for a bit of transparency, i took all of your votes (tiebreakers included) and did a table on excel. top 8 were on pot 1, top 16 were on pot 2, and so on. to make the draws for the groups i wrote a little code on python (not necessary, i'm just extra and i thought it would be simple). codemasters of f1blr, for some reason Spyder wouldn't let me read my excel file, so help would be appreciated here as well.
anyway, before i share the groups and the link, i just want to say that you guys would be surprised at how hard it is to find decent pictures that show the entire faces of the drivers without any distraction. i got dissed for some of my choices but i stand by it. also justice for lance stroll, honestly. he is cute as a button and you guys put gerhard berger instead of him. they say the voice of god is the voice of men but jesus. oh, the one person who voted this way (i don't know who):

SWAG Workbench 2022 provides a platform to showcase what is new, old or just interesting in the modern Amiga scene. These meet-ups are organised by the South West Amiga Group (SWAG) in the South West of England who do a great job of putting together a packed day of talks against a backdrop of community mingling and various shopping opportunities.
One of the Amiga's talents back in the day was its use in professional video production through the Video Toaster and software such as Lightwave 3D. Exactly this combination of hardware and software are used by The Amiga Show to produce documentaries about the Amiga, by using actual Amiga hardware and software.
I learnt that the Video Toaster stores video in an analogue form, just like the laserdisc format. This enables the Amiga to work very quickly with the data, as it doesn't have the digital processing overhead.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We also had guests from Koch Media & Retro Games Limited to talk through the production of the A500 Mini, the plug'n'plug modern Amiga device.
It was interesting to hear the CTO Chris Smith talk about how he's the person who has undertaken all the technical work to create the software for the device. All the hardware design and construction takes place in Taiwan, with Chris and other collaborating on the process.
They also discussed the difficulties and costs of licencing, which is why there aren't any LucasArt owned games (e.g. Monkey Island).
The Sensible Software catalogue almost made it to the device, however when EA bought out Codemasters that unfortunately killed the deal.
Tumblr media
Some of the Amiga Addict magazine team were present and spoke about their adventures in getting a UK based modern Amiga magazine published. Although there are several non-UK Amiga magazines in publication, the team felt there was room an Amiga mag with more British sensibilities.
It's easy to assume when such a glossy magazine is produced that it's an effortless process behind the scenes. However we learnt about all the spreadsheets and last minute tweaks to get everything together to hit the presses on time. Then the hands on effort required to stuff each envelope for each and every subscriber.
After 12 issues they've been able to get the magazine on sale in WHSmith stores, which is a impressive and heart warming achievement.
Tumblr media
There's so much more I could write about the day, but instead I'll leave with a few more photographs and invite anyone in the area with an interest in Amigas (or just retro tech) to consider attending the next meet up.

Did you ever play Dirt 5? I know a lot of people were disappointed in it because they were expecting either "Dirt 2: 2" or a new Motorstorm given the pedigree of the team on it but I know a few people really dug it as a modern take on Sega Rally? Given the Sega comparisons, do you have any thoughts on it?
I played about an hour of Dirt 5 when I had the free trial of Stadia Pro. Since then, I realized I actually own Dirt 5 on Steam, and I think I may even have gotten it on PS4 through PS+.
I dunno if I'd call it a modern take on Sega Rally. It just seems like another Dirt game, though I get this weird vibe from Codemasters where it feels like their more recent output... I dunno.
Like, to me, Codemasters invented a lot of extremely smart things for racing games. Like, to my knowledge, they were the ones who introduced rewinds in to racing games with that very first Grid game in 2008. And for a hot minute, rewinds became, like, a cornerstone of accessibility in the racing genre!
But then you get to Dirt 5, and it doesn't have rewinds. Neither do either of the Dirt Rally games. They pioneered that system and decided they didn't want it anymore. They're just going to let Forza and whoever else have that, I guess. It's backwards.
And what I've played and what I've seen of Dirt 5 just feels a little odd in other ways, given their past games. The visuals don't feel as polished, the way the camera frames the action is a little weird (it makes the cars feel strangely small) and just in general it feels like Codemasters is losing their touch.
Because I've played the crap out of plenty of Codemasters racing games in my day. I put like 35 hours in to Dirt 2, probably like 20 hours in to Dirt 3, 10 hours in to Grid 2, probably at least 15 hours in to the Grid reboot, etc.
And I feel like they've been chasing certain ideas that never quite land, and I don't know if they know how to land them. It feels like they're always trying to find ways to weave narrative in to their games without it being overbearing, and I think that's what people liked the most about Dirt 2. Racers would banter during the race, and they were voiced by the real people. Combined with the race tour motif and it felt really cool.
And then they... ditched that for Dirt 3, instead shuttling you off to some cardboard race team with zero personality. It's extra annoying in Grid 2, where they lay it on super thick about how cool racing is and how cool the event sponsor is and how cool you are and they kind of never shut up in the worst ways possible. You're supposed to be this cool racing up-and-coming legend but the game has to pull you aside and be like "what you want to do here is drive faster than the other cars and win what is called a 'race', which is a type of competition that typically involves driving vehicles" in an unskippable cutscene.
In that regard, I think Dirt 5 is kind of smart because instead of telling a story they just kind of frame their "narrative" as two guys hosting a sports podcast that plays over montages of race footage. That's a fun idea, but I find myself not caring in the same way I don't care about real sports podcasts. There's a bit too much radio DJ smarm.
All that weirdness aside, the core gameplay still seems to be fine. When my Stadia Pro trial ran out, I started installing it on my PS4 before realizing I didn't have enough HDD space for it. Was going to install it here on the PC but I forgot about it until now.
I just don't get the Sega Rally comparisons. I mean, sure, Dirt 5 is a casual-ish rally game, but you gotta have more than that.

Mazepin To Do Monaco Qualifying Alone
F1′s governing body the FIA have announced that Haas driver Nikita M asterisk zepin will have to take part in Qualifying for the 2021 Monaco Grand Prix without the other drivers present.
“We all know that Mazepin has been more like Mazespin since entering the sport, and has proved time and time again to be as awful a driver as he is a person. Therefore, with Monaco being the next race, a track so easy to crash on, it’s inevitable that Nikita may well not even bother braking for the first corner in the race (presuming he makes it that far), and will definitely take somebody out when he’s being lapped if he makes it to lap 3, we have come up with a special arrangement for him. Instead of taking part in Qualifying with the other 19 Formula 1 drivers, we have allocated, exclusively for Mazepin, 1 hour just after F1 qualifying, where he can go out and do as many laps as he likes. We all know he’ll be slowest anyway, so he might as well have the track to himself and avoid disrupting other people’s laps at this impossible to overtake at at the best of times circuit!” claimed FIA President Jean Todt.
Tumblr media
Mazepin, a Tintin lookalike, will be socially distanced by at least 1 track length from the other drivers at Monaco.
When asked why they felt such action was necessary, Mr Todt responded:
“Long time fans will know that this is an unprecedented step, having never felt the need to do this for 1 driver in the sport’s 71 year history. Prolific crash man and presumed Mazepin idol Pastor Maldonado famously never finished an F1 race at Monaco in his 5 attempts, but unlike Mazepin, he actually proved to be a talented driver, albeit on rare occasions. The fact that we didn’t make Maldonado qualify on his own should speak volumes about how dangerous we believe Mazepin’s spinny antics will be to other drivers!”
F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali also gave his opinion on this.
“Monaco is extremely difficult to do half a lap on without losing your front wing, as anyone who has ever played a Codemasters F1 game will know. With Mazepin being slower than Bernd Maylander, we have no option but to isolate him from the other drivers during qualifying. Maybe we should do that in the race as well, and just add his time to the official results!”

Chaotic concept: New addition to Chaotic
As Chaotic get more popular, more new players begin to come to Chaotic. Because of more players coming, the waiting time for a drone match becomes days instead of a few hours. The founder of Chaotic decided to add a new section in chaotic to reduce the traffic flow of waiting for a match: an arcade.
The sections of the arcade and games can be based on the creatures stats: Power, Courage, Speed and Wisdom:
Power Corner
Spots games
Fighting games, like street fighter
Strength tester
Heart Pulser
Horror Games
Shooter games
Speed Central
Timed games
Racing games
whack-a-mole
Rhythm games
Brain Shelf
Trivia
Memory games
Strategy based games
If a player get a certain high score or finds a certain item in a game, they can get a unique scan.
The Codemasters has mixed feelings on the decision. But they can’t really argue with the founder once they set their mind on something.

012: Top Gear Pocket 2

As game worlds stretch closer to infinity, sometimes it's easy to forget games can impress in scale, not only with how big they get, but how they shrink down an experience. Top Gear Pocket 2 (1) is a Game Boy Color racing title that doesn’t initially feel at all impressive. Coming out at the start of the year 2000, only a few months before the PS2, there had been plenty of incredible, full 3D showpieces in the genre, with even more to come in the portable space with the release of the Game Boy Advance. Hell, it didn’t even look as good as Out Run, which used similar techniques to fake 3D, and had preceded it by a decade and a half.
Within the context of the Game Boy Color library, however, it’s astounding how much Top Gear Pocket 2 manages to fit in. This is no simulation: it doesn't accurately model tire physics, nor will you be tuning gear ratios, or rebalancing your car for the terrain. It may technically have "rally" in the name, but it isn't even accurate to the format, sporting the standard lap and position format instead. What is here is a remarkable facsimile, one that seems like a minor miracle compared to what I assumed GBC was capable of.
Tumblr media
One of the most immediately impressive aspects is the way the game handles roads. True to its rally roots, roads don't feel like closed circuits, but real terrain meant for everyday driving. The elevation dips and rises, cresting into hills that throw you into a jump when going at speed. There's even separate sprites for hitting a jump during a turn, which is not a given with how little cart space the GBC has available.
Terrain is split into multiple types--grassland (2), savanna, city, forest, lakeside and mountain--as well as four weather types to pick from--fine, rain, snow and night--which all affect your visibility and handling in different ways. Alongside the different vehicles and tuning profiles, there's a lot of small variations to how you approach a course.
Tumblr media
If you're playing the original Japanese version, the cart's built-in rumble will communicate the state of your tires as you push them to the edge. Driving off road or bumping other drivers will give you a heavy rumble, with more subtle rumble as your tires make hard turns on uneven terrain. It adds a lot to the physicality of your vehicle, even if it can be a bit conservative in how it deploys it. Spinning out at the start doesn't provide feedback, and if driving on asphalt it'll never go off no matter how much you slide.
To sell the rally racing feeling, on screen alerts  provide a heads up for upcoming turns, as if you had a co-driver on board. Maybe it's all my time playing Codemasters' games, but I could almost hear the calls in my head. (3) Along with the minimal, it's actually incredibly helpful for navigation, given how difficult it can be to mentally position yourself in a faux 3D environment.
Tumblr media
One thing it can't do is make the U-turns more convincing. There's really no way to create a convincing 180° turn without at least the ability to rotate the ground. Here you can hear the game's design screaming up to the limits of the tech. The same is true of the game's sound. There are some bonafide jams in this game, but none of them play during the race, presumably to make the full range of sound channels available for detailed engine and tire sounds. The bet does pay off--the artwork and car sounds provide a convincing atmosphere--but it makes longer sessions more monotonous, since there's no music to vary the mood.
I've heard Top Gear Pocket 2 described as a digital game with an analog feel, and it feels apt. You need to keep in mind the terrain and conditions, and give yourself some leeway as you enter turns. Harder turns require you to brake to keep control, especially if there's another driver on the track, since collisions hit you with severe speed loss. You'll even lose speed on a turn, making exiting them faster key to keeping a position.
Tumblr media
By its fundamental nature, Top Gear Pocket 2 can't provide a realistic simulation. The distance from the outside to the inside of the track will always be the same for each type of turn (you're essentially sliding left and right as obstacles come towards you). You won't exactly be calculating perfect racing lines, and there's only ever one opponent on screen, with rudimentary AI that attempts to block a pass by swerving. If you look close, there's plenty to break the illusion.
None of that matters. It might be little more than a series of moving horizons and sliding backdrops, but there's enough for anyone wanting to see the magic trick. I found myself getting really into it, checking upcoming corners, planning my overtakes and celebrating as I cut across my opponents' paths. Maybe it ultimately didn't matter, but it felt like it did. Give it a little imagination, and you'll find a convincing little set of races on that tiny screen.
Tumblr media
Top Gear Pocket 2 is available on the Game Boy Color. The Japanese version has both save and rumble support, the European version save support only, and the US version uses a password system instead of saves.

Overlord
Overlord is a game released in 2007 by Codemasters, where these gremlin things called Minions (I wish I could have played this game before my mind was rotted by Despicable Me) dig you up from their grave and decide that YOU will be their evil overlord from now on.
This game is a lot like Pikmin, carry around your horde of tiny creature things, and then have them do things. Pick things up, slaughter the wildlife, push buttons, get places you can't, the usual variety. They even sprout up out of the ground similarly.
Something nice I liked about Overlord was how they interacted with NPCs, unlike Pikmen there are quite a few villages filled with other people. These people interact with you and your minions, one may be a little sad after one of your minions break their pot to steal whatever from within, or may be annoyed by a minion screwing around with them. Also how they react to you will give you an idea on how you stand morally, which is a system I have kind of mixed feelings on.
There is a morality system in Overlord, which I've been told is similar to Fable, although I cant speak on that myself cause I've never played Fable. Kill villagers, steal their shit, you get worse. Be kind to them, don't grind their villages to dust for the fun of it? Good path... I think it would fit the game better if it weren't "You're good or you're evil" and instead have it be more like "You're lawful evil or chaotic evil", you're the evil overlord after all. Why would you act good out of nowhere? Instead of becoming a hero to the village and bringing them a new era of greatness, keep the village in juuuuuuust good enough shape so you can extort everyone who lives there for all the money you could ever want. Or just bulldoze the place if you feel so inclined.
Back on topic, your goal in this game is to kill all of the Heroes, who have gotten corrupt over the years. Which sort of works like killing two birds with one stone, get rid of the good guys AND the evil competition.
For a game made in 2007, it runs very well on modern PCs, I had practically no issues with crashing, and it ran smooth as butter. The game can be a little repetitive at points, and can seem a little hard to navigate. But for 5$, 2$ on sale (Steam prices) you cant really go wrong.

MMOEXP: The exact times for announcements don't appear inside the article
Electronic Arts is one of many companies who decided to skip June's most important gaming announcements, and has confirmed that it won't hold the EA Play event this year. The company instead, Electronic Arts says that it will announce its forthcoming games in 2022 "when they are ready." It's possible that June doesn't fit its timetable, but it appears like it could be more suitable. EA is expected to release three major games in July, including the coming FUT 25 Coins, Need for Speed and Skate games.
According to an insider sources Tom Henderson, all three games are planned for announcement in the month of July. It is noted that there is no specific event in which the games will be played, however, they will take the form of announcements for each game. The exact times for announcements don't appear inside the article. But, Henderson does say that he's been told the FIFA as well as the Need for Speed announcements will be announced in the second quarter of July.
FC 25 is an experience that the majority of players of the franchise will already know about The announcement of the game is far more exciting than anticipated. A number of important aspects about the game have been verified by EA. For instance, FC 25 will include both leagues for women and men and will also include both genders' World Cup tournaments. EA has previously stated it will be the first time that FC 25 will have full crossplay, which that was tested with FC 25. It is also important to note that this is the final EA soccer game with its FIFA branding. The game will be rebranded as EA Sports FC in 2023 and beyond.
Skate is a different game that was previously authentically acknowledged by EA. The following Skate was announced during the June 20th, 2020 Online EA Play presentation, though it was confirmed as being very far from being developed. It is often known as Skate 4. even though the official title hasn't yet been released however, this game will become the very first Skate game that is released in 2022.
New Need for Speed will be the most interesting announcement out of the three. Codemasters was recently bought by EA and confirmed that it was working on a brand new Need for Speed with Criterion earlier in the year. It's also believed to be a next-gen racing game. In other words, there are many questions regarding the forthcoming Need for Speed, like whether it really has "anime components" or if it's an outright lie.
The fans of FIFA, Need for Speed, and Skate series likely will not be waiting long to find out more information If this is the case. July is only a few days from a start and, even if announcements themselves aren't made at the end of this month EA is likely to announce the news prior to time.
EA is responsible for creating some of the most popular games in sports history. Since the release of FC 25. the players are seeking out players to help their team even more cheap EA FC 25 Coins. Goalkeepers are one of the most crucial spots in football. A single mistake from the goalkeeper may lead to an injury. But, a goalkeeper could be a major factor in the team's win.

The Game Awards 2020 Nominees
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
The Game Awards return in 2020 to celebrate the best titles of the year. The ceremony will take place on Dec. 10 and will be hosted once again by executive producer and presenter Geoff Keighley. Gamers will be able to watch the festivities via live stream.
Due to restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, this year’s ceremony will take place across multiple cities instead of one venue. According to a press release, the event will be streamed live in “4K UHD from studio locations with no in-person audience in Los Angeles, Tokyo and London. The three host cities for The Game Awards will be digitally connected for an innovative celebration with live award presentations, musical performances, and spectacular world premiere game announcements.”
Favorites at this year’s award ceremony include The Last of Us Part II, Hades, Ghost of Tsushima, Half-Life: Alyx, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and Final Fantasy VII Remake.
“In 2020, video games have connected and comforted us more than ever, and that makes the 2020 edition of The Game Awards our most important show ever,” Keighley said in a statement earlier this year. “Our team is working hard to deliver an innovative and thoughtful program that celebrates excellence, previews the future, and amplifies important voices that are shaping the future of this medium.”
The Game Awards 2020 will also kick off “a weekend of instantly playable game content, in-game drops, demos, and live streams that celebrate the exciting future for video games across PC, console, mobile and mixed reality experiences.”
Fans should expect “Game Award Sales” on various digital marketplaces. It’ll probably be a good time to buy those games you’ve been putting off all year.
BAFTA and Emmy nominated composer Lorne Balfe is returning as the Music Director and conductor of The Game Awards, and will be conducting the world-renowned London Philharmonic Orchestra from London’s famous Abbey Road Studios.
“Being a part of The Game Awards is truly a wonderful experience ,and I’m thrilled to again be celebrating the incredible games of 2020,” said Lorne Balfe in a press release. “There is nothing quite like music in video games and with the phenomenal talents from the London Philharmonic Orchestra, I look forward to bringing the scores from this year’s ground-breaking titles to viewers around the world from the legendary Abbey Road Studios.”
And of course, the ceremony wouldn’t be complete without some HUGE announcements regarding upcoming games. Last year’s event brought us the reveal of the Xbox Series X. How will The Game Awards top that this year? Fans will just have to wait and see!
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
For now, here are all of The Game Awards 2020 nominees:
