Leaving home was difficult, even if the place that you once called home hated you. The Barbarian aimed to keep himself busy, his thoughts raced when his body was idle. Uncertainty of what the future held in store for him, as well as his fellow refugees, slowly chipped away at his resolve. Rykard was currently constructing another temporary structure, sinking thick straight branches into the earth to form a frame that he lashed together with vines. A worn sheet of canvas was thrown over the structure and he began hammering in stakes to keep it from blowing away. He heard someone speak to him and could feel the eyes of other refugees and Haven residents alike burning into his back as they awaited how he would respond to their queen. "We're running low on rope to secure the tents with," He reported, turning around to face her. "Thank you," he began, "For offering us Iskarans shelter." Seeing Aurea out here amongst the refugees gave him hope, albeit it was a bit jarring to witness this region's ruler directly involving herself with helping the sick and wounded. He certainly was not in Iskaldrik anymore.

"I heard rumors that this place is a safe haven for wolves," Even when there was no need to hide his true nature anymore, his voice still dropped a few octaves at the word wolves, but he spared a paranoid glance over his shoulder. It felt like a massive boulder was lifted off his chest just by speaking those words aloud, so he kept going. "This is all very new to me. Back in Iskaldrik, seeing the wolf dream is considered a curse, not a blessing."

Location: Haven, at the Fairgrounds amongst all the shelters and medical tents Person: Open to Refugees/Those helpin' out "Can I get you anything? Are you settled?" There's a ridiculous amount of hustle and bustle going on but it seems to be a well oiled machine at least in terms of her wolves. She can feel it, the unity amongst all of them to just help. It's not something easy, the Iskaran's don't all take too kindly to her people but that doesn't stop her from speaking to those she can as she moves from tent to tent. There's much diplomacy to be done and she'll get to it, people have been coming to her all day, but she's left a lot delegated until she help take inventory of everyone and everything. She's a queen dammit, if she would rather visit medical tents and make sure the refugees had food and shelter, she damn well would.

How many times had Julian caught himself at the connecting waygate, stuck standing still before it, never daring to cross the threshold into Haven. Truthfully, he'd lost count, so many years where he'd sat unable to chase after the wolf dream which plagued him; a reminder of the beast he was but a promise of something that could garner more control if only he opened himself up to it. Fear was what often had him spiral, when turned he was this beastial thing with little regard to those around him, but the whispers of Haven and their Queen were compelling, and it sounded like a sanctuary that could rid him of his apprehensions/ - if only he were to take such leap.

Finally, Julian ventured, walking through what connected the protective mist into the confines of Haven; he'd heard of their wariness, their dire protection for their pack, and the emissaries that littered the thriving wolf city. Rumors still hadn't prepared him for what was, and he quickly, almost intuitively, understood that his presence here would not go unnoticed. "I think I've dreamt of this place before." That was putting it lightly.

This couldn't be happening. This couldn't be happening. Mazikeen had promised nothing would happen to any of them and yet she hadn't been there, hadn't been there to try to find a way to keep Eoin as safe as Virgil wanted. Logically she knew it hadn't been in her power, or even his, but it still felt awful. However, she was the demon. She was the great, great, great x100 aunt to these children and she was not going to be the one to make anyone feel worse than what they were already feeling. They were all going to get their little Eoin back and kill everyone that stood in the way. That's what she had to keep believing for everyone's sake, including her own.

"Aurea, you need to get some sleep," she said, meeting the lycan out on the quieter fields. It was nicer at night, even with the horrid voices that sometimes whispered and taunted. There wasn't as much hustle as the daylight, the loudest constant sound being the groaning and crying coming from the medic tent. "There's no leaving the borders this late and you need to get your strength up."

" you know, wouldn't this inspire you some? like with writing and all. it's like plants and nature and... stuff? " he defeatedly trailed off as he returned his posture back towards the exhausted employee, his eyes inadvertently shifting towards the sandwich below. " ok, can i have one tomato slice? "

Hi i have a question. Is there a time when labeling yourself aro isn't valid? Once I saw someone say that to label one's self as aro out of conscious choice or convenience is wrong.

I ask because I'm afraid that I too am probably using the label for the purpose of dodging romance. I mean I saw no reason to label myself aromantic before, because I thought that people would, by default, not choose me as a romantic partner. I never thought of myself that way and I assumed that everyone else will follow suit. Only now, that I am directly exposed to romance, did I ever use the term aromantic to describe myself.

So this is how I got the idea to label myself aromantic. I don't want to be in a romantic relationship, but I didn't want to let my best friend down, but two weeks into it I realized that I didn't like the rules or norms of romance. It made me feel like an alien in my own skin. And then I thought, I am probably aro, and I did come out as Aro, which my best friend/romantic partner took with extreme doubt and constantly questioned me like this: "are you sure you're aro? We're in a romantic relationship now. Are you still Aro?" and I felt sort of pressured, and there I began thinking that I might be faking it?

I feel like I only said I'm Aro because I didn't like how romance works. I didn't know what I was getting into before agreeing.

Then one day I come across a post that says that you can't just say you're aro if you're saying it out of convenience, which I might have done, because I don't know how to exactly tell my best friend that our romantic relationship feels like lead in my veins. So I said, I'm aromantic.

I think I'm running around in circles here I'm so sorry. In short, I got into a romantic relationship, hated everything about it, and then labeled myself Aro in hopes to make people understand why I dislike romantic things when I'm directly involved. Is that... Invalid? And what other ways could someone be misusing the term to the detriment of the community?

honestly, the way that you came to that conclusion - that a romantic relationship that you were/are in felt like lead in your veins - is actually... a really common way people start to realize they are actually aro? and if you hate romance when it's directed at you, that's... also a pretty common path to realizing you're aro?

for the life of me, I've never seen someone who is aromantic ever say that you can call yourself aromantic in bad faith, but I've seen a LOT of people who think all aro people are invalid/predatory/etc say that. I generally assume bad faith, because every aro person I've ever met has agreed that coming out as aro doesn't mean shit to the people that it's supposedly being shitty to in that way anyways. they neither are familiar with it, nor believe in it, and I've never personally heard a single story yet that didn't turn out to literally be like. a queerphobe, transphobe, and/or aphobe sockpuppet.

so. no. i don't think there's a time when labeling yourself aro is invalid, and in your circumstances, I think if anything, I'd strongly advise you to interact more with aro experiences and trust yourself over what others say or want you to feel. a great resource for learning more about our community is linked here:

Obviously this would’ve been a hard won battle but I often think about Karim interacting with Callum. Like Karim LOVES to wax and wane about the history of the Sunfire elves and Lux Aurea. He loved to hear himself talk!! And while Callum loves to ramble he would not hesitate to shut up if he got the opportunity to listen to an (arguably) renowned Sunfire mage!

The twins Karim and Miyana had would no doubt be faced with derision because of the circumstances surrounding their parents. But I like to think Callum would be able to level with them. They are not just whatever name or father or mother they have. While people may view them as lesser just for the circumstances of their birth, they are more than that.

Aaravos intentionally made Callum terribly afraid of him so Callum would HAVE to go to the Starscraper to kill him—so scared that he’s even doing it when he knows—and Rayla told him—it was a bad idea to bring the pearl. he just made it easier for him. the irony is wonderful. so Aaravos gets the sword, the last ingredient to his revenge on the stars, who he swears will fall.

Agnes did not know Njal deeply outside of what she had learned from him through their tether to Beastbanes. Still, the genasi was delighted to find the other and show him what gift he had technically granted her through their association. She wasn't sure the answer to defeating the Kossith was granted through any monstrous transformation, but she liked to believe she could get the two of them towards their dreadnoughts if necessary; or lead Njal and her to the Astorian border to tear through the hordes of darkspawn which still were unrelenting there.

Agnes was not privy to the latter, she'd not gone near the Astorian border since leaving Astoria behind in pursuit of the Arches. But, if it was where her sanguinary, battle-favored friend wished to go, she would indeed grant such idea. "I've some ideas, though none are entirely concrete. You're more than just a weapon, Njal, your ideals are important, even to me."

She smiled then, "Though I've been practicing on something that I've been hoping to show you." Njal was rather difficult to find, and she much favored any other recluse like her.

Over and over again, it seemed that the people he cared for were suffering and he was not. Maybe he should have considered himself lucky to not have been placed in the situation that Torsten and Freydis had been placed into. Luckier than he had ever been. All he could think now though was that he wished it had been him instead. The two of them certainly didn't deserve everything that was constantly thrown at them. Njal though? He deserved much more than that for every action he had taken before they had gotten to Lysara.

Lost in thoughts that had been plaguing him for too long now, he didn't notice Agnes' presence. They weren't particularly tethered to each other like he was to his Circle, but they were linked through battle. They had fought together and, to Njal, that held importance to him. And it was also amusing to think about the fact that she had indeed turned into a fucking wereshark in front of his eyes.

Monsters plaguing the nation was certainly a reason to fight, but even Njal knew his limits. He could not take on those Kossith alone nor could he even really help Haven to do so. It felt like he was just sitting on his hands though so he needed to do something. At least Agnes was willing to offer him exactly that. "I suppose you have a plan then?"

Anyways time to analyze this screencap

This was originally a split second clip from the Bardel projects' reel, although it's since been omitted... and interacted with online by some of the team / cat's out of the bag, so uh - here's the meta!

The first aim is to try to establish when this is taking place timeline wise (aka in which season and when). The second will be who I think this scene involves (which is Rayllum and I'm gonna explain why). Spoilers for 6x01 thanks to previous Cons and proceed with caution if you don't want any spoilers!

So 6x01, "Startouched," has Rayla and Callum embark to the Starscraper by the end of the episode alongside Stella. This means they will presumably not be reuniting with anyone else from the Main Cast until at least the season's midpoint (6x05) if not later (6x07-6x08), by which point the plot will likely be in full swing, even if Aaravos was not released by the season's midpoint. That means there may not be as much time for something that seems like a cute little filler moment as this seems to be.

Not impossible, but I think it's unlikely that this shot/scene is from S6 from a plot / time standpoint.

Another reason in this column is that we know Hat at least, but presumably the other Baitlings too, are with Soren and Zym when they go to Lux Aurea to meet up with Corvus again.

So there's no way, realistically, it could be in early season six. If it is in later season six, it means that Callum and Rayla succeed at the Starscraper / escape relatively unscathed enough with a small window between reuniting with the boys / Ezran and shit hitting the fan. It is a window, narrow, but not impossible

My early estimate could also be early S7 as, again, the latter half of the final season will be particularly intense, and I could see the characters trying to have some down time / make the best of a bad situation earlier on in the season when there's a bit more time, well, to let them try

As for the boat itself...

The first thing is that the boat is decorated quite prettily and prominently with roses, which just feels romantic. Stella is juggling and the Baitlings (who seem to be singing) seem to be putting on some small, endearingly silly sort of performance. possibly added by the two (Star arcanum?) birds we see. There's also a warm yellow-ish light source coming from the bottom of the picture and subsequently probably the upper middle of the boat, which makes me think of candles.

I'm willing to bet that this is a Rayllum moment since it just screams Callum being very sweet and romantic, and setting up this (maybe they have to take a boat and he wants it to be better, maybe it's just for fun) boat to try and distract Rayla because she doesn't really like them. I can't see Janai or Amaya being interested in a little animal circus performance, so that rules them out to me, and we hardly ever see Stella be separated from Rayla, even temporarily. So I think this being a Rayllum scene makes the most sense because of Stella's inclusion, and maybe it is Callum wanting to do something special for her, whether it's them officially getting back together, or just spending some time together even while the world is ending cause y'know, they missed out on two years of dates they could've gone on, and want to use some of the time they have left for that.

Stella is also juggling Adoraburrs, which have a tendency (presumably) to be primarily close to the Moonshadow forests, since we don't see the tiny ones anywhere else in Xadia, so it could even be a pit stop on the way back to the Silvergrove to get her and her family unghosted, perhaps (and all the more reason to try and take her mind off things).

My other consideration for a pair is Sorvus, since I could see Soren being silly and setting up the Bailting choir (he seems close to Hat in particular) and I think Corvus would be endeared by it, ultimately. That doesn't account for Stella though, and while Soren and Corvus are clearly friends/co-workers on the crownguard, they haven't had a lot of even teasingly romantic development, so I don't feel like the story is really gonna prioritize them heavily as a romance (especially because we have Karim/Miyana, Callum/Rayla, possibly Aaravos and someone in his past, Claudia/Terry breaking up and presumably getting back together, we're gonna get Runaan/Ethari back in these coming seasons in addition to Lain/Tiadrin, and there's always Janai/Amaya, of course). TDP already has a lot of romantic relationships in it, so I feel like Sorvus, if/when they do get together, would probably be a smaller moment later in the final two seasons, and they probably wouldn't get as big a focus as a scene like this seems to imply just from a pacing/character standpoint

Plus, Rayllum kinda has a thing with boats and important moments for them happening on said boats, but that is a meta for another day

The chauffeur was bringing them to The Eye headquarters because Mazikeen might have been late to all the boring training they were doing that day but Virgil couldn't yell at her if she was trying to take Aurea shopping at Ulta. And no one could yell at Aurea because she was adorable. The demon had no worries as she giggled on her phone and then leaned over to show her beloved little lycan. "Look at this video I took of Eoin napping." She giggled a little harder as, in the video, she watched a cookie telekinetically floating over the witch's mouth about to get dropped there.

Sorry for the looong delay, but I just finished going through the whole Pokemon o Sagase! Best Wishes! book, it was so fun, it had a lot of unique artwork, and several characters appear, aaaand I was right about Shootie's bubble telling us the mural on the Battle Club floor resembling a Pokemon and asking us what it is, ffff.

But I still never figured that one out until I saw the solutions at the end! I did find all the Pokemon I was told to, though. ^^ There's also mazes in some pages! It's such a fun book, although there's also... some obviously added-in-post artwork that doesn't match the rest of the more painterly work, often, it seems to be B2W2 promoting Pokemon and if that isn't a sad metaphor for how BW! was treated to advertise the sequel games... while most of the locations and characters are from early in BW!'s run. Some just seem to be characters the artist might not have managed as well, though, but let's end this on a high note!

It's hard to take good, clean pictures because it's very glossy and I don't want to damage the book or take it apart. But if you want to see any part in better quality, I can take another clearer picture!

It's the kid sister in her that has her mouth immediately ready to fire something back but she thinks better of it. "You would be who I would be texting." Crossing her arms, she can't help but feel a bit petulant because he had a fair point. "You all keep acting like I get into all sorts of trouble. I go out by myself and I go to work." She wouldn't even entirely said she'd connected with any old friends in Rome quite yet either, family had been the priority. Things were slowing down again, she had time and it was another hurdle, reconnecting with the city after she'd been gone the last few years. "Eoin made me promise him I'm not going to get into anything already."

Dorien is a first year in Diasomnia, and is currently housewarden after Crowley gave them the position on the first day. 

They have high anxiety a lot of the time.

Dorien is like Silver in the way animals are attracted to them. Luckily they love animals.

Dorien has a nightmare curse, to be cured by “true love’s kiss”. It was placed on them by a member of the senate who wasn’t a fan of the fact that Dorien’s half fae.

Dorien went half blind after their overblot.

- Relationship with both parents!

Dorien is closer with their father, Malleus, due to the amount of time they have spent together while Dorien went through royal training as a child. While they did have tutors, Malleus took it on himself to teach them certain aspects.

Dorien does spend time with their other parent, Emi, though. They often bond over more creative work, as Dorien draws and Emi designs clothing. They also cook together. Which is fun.

Dorien views Lilia as their grandfather, and have a lot of fun with him. Usually, the more wild things Dorien does is done with Lilia, such as them bleaching and dying the end of their hair. They trust him a lot, and go to him for advice too.

Dorien sees Sebek as an uncle. Sebek was protective when they were young, since they were half-fae and he didn’t want them to be treated badly for that reason. He, as well as Silver, helped to train Dorien physically, but treated it as playing when they were a kid. When Dorien was little, they mispronounced his name, calling him “Uncle Sbebek”

Dorien also sees Silver as an uncle, and trusts him a lot as well. Silver helped them learn how to interact with animals as a kid, since they both seemed to attract them. They often go to him when they need time to react compared to spending time with their other family members.

Dorien has a younger sister, Destiny, however she is about 15 years younger. They are very protective over her, especially as they heard stories about how the second born in a royal family is treated badly.

Modra (@0pawprint0)- the one who dragged them into the friend group. They get along well with them, especially since the art club often helps the film club. Out of all their friends, Modra is the closest.

Miku (@0pawprint0)- They don’t know Miku well yet, but they find her interesting. She’s a robot, which they never expected to meet. They hope to get to know her more.

Cecilia- They’re familiar with Cecilia prior to meeting people through Modra, as she is the half-sister of one of their long-time friends, Aurea. They admire her determination to debut as one of the most popular idols, like her mother. Though she does sometimes scare them sometimes, especially when she’s with Priscilla…

Aurea- Their longest running friendship, though they are more like family. As Silver’s daughter, she lived at the castle and is currently training to be a knight, just as Silver did. They grew close, since they are around the same age and were the only two kids in the castle for the longest time.

Kiara- Dorien’s girlfriend. They are extremely close, and Dorien would do anything for her. She helps them stop overworking, and they spend their time supporting everything that she does. 

Jasiri- Dorien gets along well with Jasiri, especially since he’s Kiara’s twin brother. They could be a bit closer, though.

Dorien is a high performer, and their best course happens to be potions. They often get their potions done perfectly, as they need to be more careful due to being half blind. They consistently get good grades in almost every class.

They are forbidden from taking PE though, due to their eye.

Dorien’s favorite childhood memory was the day they “beat” Sebek while play sword-fighting as a kid. Sebek lost on purpose, but it made Dorien so happy because it meant they were as strong as both of their uncles!

Julian took a beat, he nodded slowly, absorbing the simple idea of... surprise? He wasn't sure what to call it, but they'd have to be careful, outsmart the Kossith, presume they wouldn't see an infiltration of the ship coming. He's never truly been part of a plan with moving cogs and parts; performance was easy, glide around the ring, defeat the big bad, spill their blood. This war between the Kossith, however, was no show and the palpable distress felt from Juneau was very, very real. "I can be a distraction, or I can be with you to get on the ship," Julian had been a gladiator first, but he'd proved himself on the battlefield; either situation he felt he could adapt to, even if no one ever truly wished to be the bait. "I'm worried they don't have much time left," it was blurted out, how he'd felt this obscured specter of pain leeching from whatever mental tether he'd had to Juneau.

"I want to get them back. Fighting the Kossith is not the plan, they have to dock at some point, I want to infiltrate their ship and extract those taken." It's said all very quickly and Julian is a person she trusts but she does feel more of an urge to present herself a little formally around him, but for a moment that ends. And he hopes he doesn't think anything less of her for it. To her people, to her pack, she is a queen, she tries to hold herself as someone to be looked up to. But she is still a person, and she has been pushed to extremes. It feels like the right thing though, it felt like something Freydis and Thora would do.
