What is the evidence that they don’t have the required training? These DOGE employees aren’t just your random average coders. They’re some of the best and brightest analytical minds of their generation. Why should they not be able to understand the government’s computer software systems and properly analyze their data? In some ways, these employees have handled far more complex projects in the past… I think the post shown here is not really being fair or taking enough information into account before forming an opinion. I think OP *wants* to believe that anything having to do with Trump is evil, and will therefore ignore evidence to the contrary.

Source Farritor figured out how to read these extremely fragile burnt scrolls without unrolling them. He solved a problem that experts has been puzzling over for years.

My Point
As we can see, all of these young men are quite capable. I think that many posts on Tumblr, like the ones shown in the original post above, oversimplify and misconstrue the actual facts in favor of supporting a more shocking and upsetting narrative. Please take time to review some of the information related to the claims you’re seeing. Take a little time to decide whether you actually want to incorporate a claim into your worldview. Don’t blindly accept anything.

Students had the entire day and night at their disposal to work on their projects, submitting themselves to regular audits by the core team. After the first audit, core-team member Devansh commented, “Codefest promotes a great community where students from across India interact together. I get to see innovative technologies from our nation’s youth, and it has been the experience of my lifetime to organize this blockbuster event, as a member of the core-team." The winning team in the Junior category was Goober’s in the thick of it, with their game “Project Sustancia”. A phenomenally innovative survival game, the programme included many complex elements, including resource management tasks, fight scenes and a storyline of mystery and adventure. When giving the final presentation to the competition’s esteemed judges said that a key characteristic of the game that distinguished itself from other products in the marketplace was the intricate combat system which was simple enough for a novice to learn. In addition, the game incorporated characters that the users could interact with, which were made entirely from artificial intelligence. This blockbuster project impressed the judges immensely, securing the team’s 1st place victory. The senior team winner was Team Quick with their project “Public Policy”. The problem they attempted to solve was how vast privacy policies are often too cumbersome and complex to fully go through. They coded a programme that utilized AI to distinguish between the pros and cons of certain privacy policies, justifying the policy and rating it. Moreover, it had a user-friendly interface that provided users with relevant information about their privacy policy without being overtly extensive. Students used BS4, Web Scraping, NLTK Sentiment, Newspi and AI technology, like Gemini, to gain the 1st prize, winning them a whopping total of 30,000 rupees. So SAO and my unqualified suggestions to the story
I only watched the anime once and did not read any of the novel so I really am very unqualified but here are the changes I would like to suggest. This are just messy thoughts, bear with me.
1. Bump Kirito, and almost all of the player's age, to 20+.
There are a few reasons for this suggestion.
a. SAO is a very limited game, only 10,000 copies are made and it is a highly awaited game. Assuming that the nerve gear is a first of its kind, I imagine that very few people would have the money to afford this technology. Only people with lots of money to spare can buy this game. Only rich people can buy this game.
b. Apparently, players can have sex in this game. Definitely not E for everybody. And while the world building implications of SAO being used to traffic people is an interesting dark concept to explore, SAO's story is not about crime fighting. You can tackle this issue in some filler episode if you want and I think teenagers being in the game is still nice to have just to show how important it is to follow the rating system sometimes but ultimately; kids do not have an easy access to the game.
c. I need Kirito to be a working or at least at an age where he can intern and be some prodigy programer. Where my second change comes in:
2. Kirito helped program SAO
There's just one reason why I want to make this happen: it makes Kirito personally liable for the deaths in the game, at least he feels that he is liable. He helped produce the game. Whether he intended to or not, he has a hand in creating the deathtrap that is SAO.
I also think that it'll make more sense for people to hate him if he was a programmer. I also think it's cooler to say that he is a programmer/coder/developer than... Beater. Lol
I have a very specific suggestion here: he made the first boss they fight. He's just an intern let's say, (if we really want to make Kirito as young as possible but still able to help make and buy the game) he's a prodigy programmer who had the honor of working on the most awaited game and the development team of SAO gave him the 1st floor boss to design, you know? To celebrate his first gig. (First bosses are important to games if I'm not mistaken XD it sets player expectations and whatnot so he probably shouldn't design the first boss but I need him to design the first boss to set up the reveal part)
Ok. so they go fight the floor 1 boss. A boss Kirito designed. The fight happens as it did in canon. Someone died. Someone was killed by the boss, the monster, Kirito made. And it messes with him. Yes the attack pattern changed, even Kirito is caught off guard by that but it's still his creation. He made that attack pattern, he chose the blind spots, the strengths and weaknesses of that monster. Someone died. He proclaims that he's a programmer. That boss? Made by him. This loot? Designed by him. And everyone starts referring to him as a programmer even if in reality his contribution to the game is very little.
(it would also make his few friends feel more special. It's nice that they are willing to hear him out even if he helped make SAO.)
Now, what exactly did Kirito design? What is so amazing that he is called a prodigy? He designed YUI.
And YUI's function, I suggest, is not just mental health help for players (it would be kinda ridiculous if she's just there for mental health, like, what's she gonna do? Refer the depressed players to a psychologist? How many players play because they wanna escape real life because of depression?) YUI's main function is adjusting game difficulty based on a player's mental/emotional state. She's here to keep the game fun, not frustrating, for everyone in an MMO. And of course, because SAO is now a death trap her services are not needed.
I think YUI should just tell Kirito that she is his AI (making him technically her real dad in a weird way lol) and she is locked out of the system. Maybe Kirito has a special passcode to access the main game system or something, she needs his help. Him and Asuna agree to go on a journey to help her. If they managed to get Kirito access to the game code maybe he can code back the log out button or at the very least, get YUI back in working order. If YUI is functioning properly she can drop the level difficulty of all the bosses, letting players defeat the game easily. (And maybe they bond in the journey like father and daughter, which is why Kirito did his absolute best to keep YUI's code intact as a game object. I personally prefer if they keep YUI's code in case they get a chance to code her back in the game because it's a real safe way to get out of the game.)
3.) Kayaba
I think Kirito should have some relationship with Kayaba, even if it's just a fan and his idol. Why did Kirito help make SAO? Because he is a gamer, yes, but also because it's Kayaba making SAO. It's a chance to work with his idol. Maybe they become close as mentor and mentee (if you want to be extra about it, maybe Kirito, who is an orphan, viewed him like a father figure or sorts) but that depends how hurt you want Kirito to be about what Kayaba did. Turning SAO a deathtrap is a betrayal of trust.

Some stuff in the story will change according to these suggestions (or maybe many things will change. I dunno.) But I just want Kirito to be more personally involved with the situation and the enemy in the story. Like, he feels responsible for the entrapment of these people and the deaths that happened in the game so he will clear it and free everyone or die trying!

29 May 2019: Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II attended a ceremony to launch the “1 Million Jordanian Coders Initiative”.
The initiative aims to train 1 million young Jordanians on coding and computer programming techniques through free online courses, granting them accredited international certificates and equipping them with the skills needed to enter the labour market in this field.
The “1 Million Jordanian Coders Initiative” is implemented by the Crown Prince Foundation in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, and in cooperation with the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future in the United Arab Emirates. (Source: Petra)
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Mothanna Gharaibeh said the initiative comes within the framework of honing the digital skillsets of Jordanian youth to keep up with the fast pace of technology development in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The minister noted that Jordan, at the initiative of Crown Prince Al Hussein and in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, started a pilot programme two years ago to teach coding to public school students and is now in the planning phase to expand the programme and make it more comprehensive.
Gharaibeh expressed appreciation to the UAE for its support and cooperation on the launch of the “1 Million Jordanian Coders Initiative”, which is part of strategic initiatives and projects to promote partnership between the two countries.
For his part, UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future Mohammad Al Gergawi praised Jordan’s unique human capital for being rich with young, skilled talents, stressing that coding skills provide a solid foundation for working in the industries of the future and an important facilitator of modernisation and development of government work in various vital sectors.
Minister Al Gergawi said the initiative is the starting point for a long-term strategic partnership in government modernisation, reflecting the deep Jordan-UAE ties.
The minister added that the launch of the “1 Million Jordanian Coders Initiative” reflects the confidence of the leaderships of the two countries in the crucial role of youth in the industries of the future and in Jordan's distinguished human capital.
CPF CEO Tamam Mango underlined Jordan’s commitment to promoting entrepreneurship and strategic development, stressing that equipping young Jordanians with coding and digital skills enables them to succeed in the future.
Mango pointed out that many tech start-ups have benefited from Jordan’s supportive ecosystem, highlighting the Kingdom’s leading position in online Arabic content creation, as well as the country’s positive progress on several global technology and entrepreneurship indicators.
She added that the “1 Million Jordanian Coders Initiative” will open up free training opportunities for youth, in cooperation with leading international firms, preparing them for the job market and opening up future economic opportunities for them.

Supermodel Karlie Kloss turns coding passion into a summer coding camps for girls
It's about 7 a.m. on an early autumn day in New York City and supermodel Karlie Kloss is quickly becoming a morning person.
“I don’t know when or how this happened, I don’t think I’ve slept past the sunrise any day this week,” Kloss told ABC News’ Chief Business, Technology and Economics Correspondent Rebecca Jarvis in an interview for “Nightline.”

On this particular morning, Kloss is coming off of a 16-hour day filming Project Runway and is getting ready for an event with Adidas, one of her many brand ambassadorships.
Despite the long days and early mornings Kloss embraces it all.
“That’s kind of my life but the good thing is I really love what I do,” said Kloss.
The 40-time Vogue cover girl got her start at just 13-years-old when she was discovered at a mall in her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. She was approached by two modeling scouts, Jeff and Mary Clarke, the husband and wife duo behind Mother Model Management, who also famously discovered Ashton Kutcher at The Airliner Bar in Iowa City.
In Kloss’ case, they were recruiting for a charity fashion show.
“I was just at the mall with my friend and I was wearing Birkenstocks and just living my life at 13 years old…And at that time I literally had no interest in that [modeling] or really idea of like what the fashion industry was. It just wasn't in my world.”
Kloss said she realized quickly “it really was something I really enjoyed” and it didn’t take long for her career to take off. The modeling scouts introduced her to agents and by the time she was 15-years-old she was walking in her first major runway show.
“That fall when I started my freshman year of high school I got an opportunity to walk in New York Fashion Week for Calvin Klein and I was 15 years old. Like literally had started high school two days before and it just put me on the map.”
Kloss became a breakout star in the industry, walking in 31 shows her first New York Fashion Week season. Over the course of the next few months Kloss got an apartment in New York City and was traveling around the globe with her first major fashion campaigns for Bvlgari and Dolce & Gabbana.

But while she was living the life of a glamorous and worldly model, back home in St. Louis, pre-social media, she was just an average teenager.
“I was 15 years old, I was tall and lanky, no boys were paying any attention to me. I felt totally out of place in St. Louis, just like every teenager does. And it kind of was like this secret alter ego that I got to live out and build a career. And no one really knew about it back home.”

Over the next 11 years Kloss would become one of the most recognizable faces on the planet, gracing the runways of major designers like Oscar de la Renta, Christian Dior, Versace and Diane von Furstenberg.
She also served as global brand ambassador for Estee Lauder and starred in several major international campaigns for brands like adidas, Versace, Dior, Carolina Herrera and Swarovski
“I was going back and forth between, like, sitting in my chemistry class, getting on a plane that night right after school going to Paris, walking Dior Couture opening the show…and then going back home and like needing to like still turn in my five paragraph essay,” said Kloss. “But it was really amazing dual world and life that I lived and still live, I guess.”

Today that “dual world” includes another passion -- coding. On the surface it’s one that might seem unexpected, as the couture-clad super beauty doesn’t necessarily fit the stereotype of a hoodie-wearing coder, but Kloss has had a love of math and science from the beginning.

As the daughter of an emergency room physician, she looked up to her father, fascinated by his ability to problem solve and help people using science.
“I definitely thought being a doctor would be my kind of career path. I always was really fascinated by science, by math and I loved the idea of being able to help people with a skill set,” she said.
Kloss discovered her own love of coding by taking classes at The Flatiron School in Lower Manhattan. Her instructor and dean of the school, Avi Flombaum, said that she was a natural.
“I met Karlie, I was doing a class for two of my friends and they asked if she could join...She showed up on day one, really took to it and outperformed my two friends,” Flombaum told ABC News’ Rebecca Jarvis.

After that first lesson in 2014, Kloss was hooked.
“That whole week, and more and more, she started emailing me if we could spend time on the weekends coding and that sort of snowballed,” Flombaum said.
But eventually, Kloss wanted to do more than just learn herself. She wanted to figure out a way to give other women the skill that she found so valuable. With the help of Flombaum, she started a scholarship giving 21 teenage women across the U.S. the opportunity to take the Flatiron School’s two-week pre-college program coding class, the same one that Kloss took when she fell in love with coding.
“I have this audience of young women across the country around the world, and I really care about the message that I'm sending them both through my words and my actions. And I thought, you know what, I would love to offer them something more meaningful than just a picture backstage at a runway show.”
Just one year after starting her own coding journey, Kode With Klossy was born.
Today the free two-week summer coding camp has grown to 50 camps across 25 cities across the U.S. girls ages 13 to 18 can apply to attend through the company’s website and be placed in classes of 20 where they learn to code real-life apps.
It’s not abnormal for Kloss to pop into one of the camps, and she’s become a mentor for many of the young women who have been with the program since the start. “Nightline” joined her for one of those visits at a camp in New York, where level 3 campers are learning Swift, the coding language used by Apple developers.
“It’s really amazing because I feel like I really have seen them grow so much, beyond just learning code...They’ve been able to grow as humans. I think it’s such an intense moment in life being in your teen years and high school and you’re kind of figuring out so many things and I see these girls kind of come into their own power, come into their own confidence, and they realize all that could be possible in their lives, in their careers, and it’s just so fun and amazing to watch. I get goose bumps, I really do. They’re my little sisters.”

In the beginning, the young coders first learn the basics of the new language and then collaborate to design and build a new app. They were in the final stages of creating applications targeted at real world problems when “Nightline” stopped by. But it’s not just the curriculum that these young coders love, it’s the relationships they are building with other young women in technology.
Many of the coders we spoke to said that the camps provide a supportive place to grow and thrive. Valeria Torres-Olivares, 18, began learning to code in her sophomore year of high school. But she said the past two summers she has spent at Kode With Klossy have “been a rejuvenating experience having amazing girls to work with and talk about code with.”
“You don’t feel comfortable asking your peers questions because most of the time they are male and most of the time, whether they are mean to you or not, they do make you feel like you are less than them,” Torres-Olivares told ABC News’ Rebecca Jarvis.
Many of the female coders “Nightline” met say they are outnumbered by their male counterparts at school.
“It’s just like three girls in the front row and then the rest of it is all guys. Basically feels like a guy’s club. So being here feels like a safe space,” 16-year-old camper Ivana said.
Sofia Ongele, 18, who started learning to code at the Kode With Klossy camp in 2016, added that one of her favorite things about the program is the network of women she can connect with to talk about coding. “I could just hit up my girlfriends any time that I wanted to and be like, ‘hey, help me out here.’ So that was really great.”
When creating the camps it was important to Kloss to focus on women. Today, while women make up more than half of college-educated workers, they only make up 25 percent of those in STEM fields, according to the U.S. Department of State.
“There are multiple problems too, I think, why more girls don't get excited about tech or see themselves in that industry. A -- barrier to entry of not having opportunities, not having a class to even take to learn the skills. And B -- what society tells us or the image that we see and I think we need more visibility around women in the industry and they exist.”
With over 16 million followers across her social media platforms, Kloss is helping to increase the visibility around women in technology, showing that the stereotype surrounding STEM aren’t real.
“Everybody expected me to be one thing, to be on the catwalks or in magazines...And so I definitely think a lot of people noticed when I started coming out and talking about my love of science and math and more nerdy passions,” said Kloss. “I think that me standing up and kind of identifying my nerdy passions has ignited that for so many other girls and that impact is something that really drives me to want to keep being true to who I am, and supporting other young women.”

Scholarships, Free Studies and Stipend: There are a number of scholarships available within the limits defined in bilateral agreements. They are financed either by the Polish or the foreign partner's government, often with the aim to enhance exchange within a specific field of study. The amount of a scholarship depends on the type of study undertaken. In addition, university scholarships are available for academic excellence.

This 16 year old is a Maker, Coder, Tech Advocate, Workshop Leader, and Social Entrepreneur. 
Meet Avye Couloute who began attending coding and physical computing workshops at 7 years old. Founder of Girls Into Coding a way to encourage more girl involvement in the Tech sector. 
She leads regular coding and physical computing workshops for Coder Dojo at Kingston University & the University of West London, and has entered and won competitions with the robots that she designs and make. 
She has received the Diana Award, the Diana Legacy Award and FDM Every Woman Tech Award. Very enthusiastic about sharing her skills and experience. She is also an Arm Ambassador, part of the GenArm2Z program which enables young people to talk to tech leaders about technology is being used and shaped for the future.

How Can Blockchain Help In Building Nations

Blockchain is a buzzword today across multiple industries and use-cases. The list of companies wanting to deploy blockchain is growing by the day. But, can Blockchain build something bigger, more meaningful? Can Blockchain help build a sustainable Nation?
Let us explore and find out.
I am not an Economist or a Politician (or very eloquent in English , so if you find a typo, please ignore them), but I AM a Blockchain Application Specialist — meaning I devote my efforts to build relevant, sustainable and real world use-cases for Blockchain and Crypto.
During my visit to Istanbul last week for “The Blockchain Economy Conference”, among the participants there were quite a few from Iran, who were eagerly looking to adopt crypto and blockchain.
Obviously, the current sanctions imposed is one of the many factors influencing this choice. I will not get into political aspects, as this a blockchain article.
But, it got me thinking and I believe there are quite a few areas that blockchain can impact, help nations (& its agencies)to drive efficiency and enable them to build better economy and welfare programs. Let us briefly look at these areas of interest.
1.Health care & welfare distribution:
A recent article in CNN talks about how Trump’s sanctions are impacting Iran’s health care distribution. It says that his policy, is negatively effecting reach of medication to those in need. I don’t want to comment on the political aspect of this, like I told before, but I will look at it from an analytical point of view.
So, How can Blockchain help here? I believe nations like Iran, Turkey, India and similar have good health care polices and dedicated people wanting to implement the same. Where things go wrong, is in the righteous distribution and wastage due to various logistics issues and pilferage.
I was once in a government sponsored blood donation camp, all set! but guess what?, there was not enough disposable syringes available for collection of donors blood. Now imagine a more serious scenario, where tonnes of medications get lost in transit, expired or worse stolen. Is there a way for government agencies to track such medical stocks and ensure they reach the right people at the right time?.
Yes, Blockchain can deploy “Universal Tracking System”, which can ease the logistics issues, shipment can be tracked, accounted and distributed based on data analysis rather than human intervention. I am guiding a company, that is working on a ambitious project to use Blockchain to provide quick ID creation and validation at each point of distribution to track actual usage of this precious medical supplies. Not just supplies but database of doctors, hospital capacity and readiness, which can enable faster deployment of emergency services in the event of war or natural calamities.
2.National asset management:
A nation’s assets are not just its gold or forex reserves. There are various asset classes that don’t get accurately accounted, recognised and tagged. Can amazon rainforests be an asset?, Can Istanbul’s culture heritage be an asset? or unexplored oil reserves, cultivatable lands, fresh water reserves be an assets?, of course Yes!. Government agencies can build a blockchain based distributed database, which can be used to maintain records on such assets and its utilisation. In some cases it can be utilised to raise funds for driving welfare and development programs. International aid agencies, can rely on these data points to track their support utilization. I know a few start-ups who are working on digitation of assets using blockchain and I believe they can bring great value-adds.
3.Critical skills & talent management:
The most important asset of any nation is its educated youth population, who determine its future existence. But many nations are grappling with the issue of “Talent Erosion”, meaning educated, young talent are leaving the their home countries to other places in search of better opportunities, experience or excitement. Blockchain based education and talent management system can enable a nation to manage a database of critical skillset and talented community and engage with them for nation building projects.
Furthermore, it can enable the government agencies to deploy education and skill enhancement programs, seek the assistance of these talented individuals to participate in such development initiatives, where in they can contribute their time, knowledge and efforts. It is what I would like to call as “crowd funding a nation’s development” effort. How awesome will it be: if each literate person were to teach one illiterate person to read & write or if one coder were to teach one other person to code or what if each police person can teach one women the art of self-defence, it will make a difference that is truly phenomenal. 4.Tax collection and transaction simplified:
Like India, many nations are cash driven economies. Lot of transaction that happen in cash, get untracked, unaccounted or untaxed. Service Industry is one such industry. Imagine tokenization of such ecosystem and creating micro-economies that can be sustained on blockchain and tokens instead of dependency on FIAT currency. This will remove the undue pressure on the central banks to pump cash into the system. It will enable traceability as the medium of exchange is digital in nature. It may not be a decentralised system to begin with, but surely it can become when the eco-system matures. Like I said, I am neither an economist or a politician, but an “optimist” who believes in the power of Blockchain and what it can deliver. I might be incomplete, inconclusive or wrong about the points I have made above, but, if I can ignite some ideas, debate and positive work towards to democratisation of blockchain technology around the world, I will be very much satisfied.
