I've actually been brainstorming the circumstances that Machete could conceivably use to fake his death and run away with Vasco. I was thinking that it would take "divine intervention" levels of luck (as while faking one's death is generally planned in great detail, I almost feel like the opportunity would have to land in Machete's lap for him to consider it.) I'm embarrassed that I didn't think of burning a corpse sooner. Also, he would need to take a new name, which provides a nice symmetry to his story. I wonder if he might choose Sebastian, based on those paintings he and Vasco enjoy so much? (I hope this isn't presumptuous, I'm just very invested in your characters.)

I didn't even consider the need for a name change, you're totally right. I don't know what he'd pick though. Sebastian would make sense, but I've been thinking of the possibility of them getting a cat in modern AU and naming him Sebastian, so that one is kind of taken.

How often do you think that Alador and Lilith both nerd out over something? Since you know their hyperfixations eventually converge at some point.

It depends since Alador seems to be more into inventions and Lilith history, there might be times where the two overlap.

Or they work together sometimes like how we saw Alador work with Darius and Raine.

funniest thing about getting involved with 911 fandom is finding out how many people don't understand how a will works. like you do know it only takes effect upon the death of the maker right? buck has zero legal or custody rights over christopher right now. he is not his legal guardian. a will is completely unenforceable while the testator is alive.

What if 'Gundam SEED' was told from Flay's point of view? How would they approach it? Would it have been better?

...as someone who likes Kira and dislikes Flay (though I do think a majority of people who watch SEED are not fans of Flay) I'm kind of like... why. LMAOOO.

I actually talked to my boyfriend about this because he is 1) far better at thinking critically about media than I am, 2) is actually into gundam as a franchise and 3) likes flay more than me.

We're both of the agreement that changes would have to be made in order to make Flay the protagonist. You'd have to make her more sympathetic toward Coordinators, I think so you'd have to toss her racism out the door from the get go or have her realize that those views are wrong earlier on than when she does in the series. But, I think that's straying from the question that you asked.

I think telling Gundam SEED from Flay's point of view would detract from SEED's narrative because it would be viewing the Bloody Valentine War from a fairly biased position since unlike the rest of the Heliopolis crew she is not from Orb, her father was part of the Atlantic Federation, and she sympathized with some of the views of Blue Cosmos. I think from the get-go her perspective would have painted Coordinators as inherently bad until Flay threatens Lacus' life when she is on the Archangel despite the fact that like Flay, Lacus is also a civilian (albeit with military ties) who has been nothing but amicable toward Flay despite Flay's attitude toward her and then emotionally manipulates Kira. I think that at that point audiences would realize that... maybe Naturals can be just as bad as Coordinators.

Someone would probably burn me at the stake for saying this, but I think that she would be viewed a bit similarly to Shinji Ikari in that people would probably be upset with her for acting the way that she does when she is, in reality, a traumatized teen with big daddy issues being thrown into a situation beyond her control except 1) she volunteered and 2) she never actually got into the robot.

I mean... I don't know if it would be better, it's still the same story, but, viewing it from just Flay's point of view would make things really skewed I think. I do think it could be interesting. Maybe Death Note like except I don't think that Flay has the same amount of cunning and emotional manipulation skills as Light Yagami.

Jokingly, I think that if you want to know what it would be like just watch Gundam SEED Destiny and pretend Shinn is Flay. I'm sorry Shinn lmaooo.

look at their likes! if they have likes, they're a person. if they don't, they're a bot. at least i think this trick still works.

Okay but see here's the issue bc I have found out why I suddenly have an increase of bot like followers (1200 in the last 2 days folks it's bad) and its making things a bit more complicated so basically when new users make an account tumblr is forcing them to follow a certain amount of people based on tags they've said they like - so tumblr will suggest tags that are popular like barbie and then if you say yes I like barbie it will suggest you follow blogs that have posted with that tag like me unfortunately - so bc of this a percent of new people joining tumblr are just picking to follow my blog to get on with the process and bc they are new people with no pfp or likes or description they all look like bots and alot of them as well are probably bots bc bots go through the same process - so bots and new users are impossible to tell apart and bc barbie is popular rn it's resulted in 1200 new followers for me who most like don't actually want to be following me or are just bots and its very very sad to see
