i.... i don't know what to say. this is too broad. i think im a good writer, i guess, but i've very much been in a slump lately that's had me considering if i even enjoy writing anymore. which. kind of sucks, honestly. im chalking it up to the mental illness though lmao. but to compliment myself — because patting ourselves on the back once in a while is so important — i think im good with explication and descriptions. also hook lines. i love writing a good opening line!

my real name is a bastardised spelling of an already fairly uncommon name, but the original spelling means 'wide meadow' apparently.

6. excessive ooc
I mean? As long as it's tagged? That's fine with me because I tend to post a lot of ooc posts as well. Though, I guess, my policy is that I clean it up a bit if it's too much. But then again: what is too much ooc posting? What is considered excessive ooc posting? I would say my excess where I draw the line if for 5 straight pages of a blog I don't see any rping at all or any plotting or any headcanons/metas written out. Then again, every person should do what they are comfortable with and not try to please the RPC when it comes to how they operate on their blog when it comes to OOC. I don't follow blogs who only post ooc posts, but I also know that my personal ooc posting during the week can get a bit meh. So, really, it's a case-to-case basis but it's just personal preference for each person, I guess. I block the ooc tag if it's too much for me sometimes? Hm, but yeah, I honestly don't have a big thought about this because it really do be a case to case basis. Some people need ooc to discuss possibilities, to talk about life, to connect with others. But then there is toxic ooc content where there is a lot of guilt tripping and 'woe is me' kind of content. So really, it depends!
12. promos
Promos only work when people reblog the post and not when they like it. That's my stance on it. I think as a collective rpc, we should reblog more promos of each other to spread the word. It's especially true for newer rpers in the rpc. How are they going to gain traction if older rper don't reblog their promos? Honestly, it was an issue for me in the Genshin community when I was starting. However, I also think that those short text promos are fun. Like small and funny ones. Cool and aesthetic-wise are awesome, but those small and funny ones are also pretty darn awesome.
18. shipping
There is a lot to speak about shipping, but I'll cover one of the themes of shipping: progress and asking. In the current day and age of RPC, the collective trauma of many rpers feeling like they're forcing something on another without actually forcing anything should be healed. It speaks to the fact that we are lacking communication, which is a continuous issue with rpc as a whole here and there, especially in some fandoms. I believe it'd be nice to speak more with people about different ships that are platonic, antagonistic, etc. I also think we should be more honest with each other on what kind of ships we see happening between our muses! Just be polite, honest and don't be weird. Like, damn, I want more antagonistic and toxic ships! I want villains to be villains and have those tense and complicated interactions!

I want to give a massive shout out to multimuse blogs! I think multimuse blogs are extremely complicated and hard to manage, which makes everyone who have multimuse blogs are damn SUPERHEROES. Everyone who can handle more than 1 muse is a deity of creativity and I admire every single one of you. Canon or OC, multimuse blogs require the ability to think of different characters insted of just one. I have a hard time doing it, which makes me admire everyone who has multimuse blogs so much.

Inquiring vampires must know: what would Ahri's blood taste like?
the foxes blood━━━coveted, like the honey of gods. tomes of olde would liken her essence to an additive so alchemically rich with magic, that it is near essential in potent, formidable elixirs long forgotten to time. while alchemists of today would deem obtaining even a drop of her blood a laughable fantasy, there was once a time when it was fiercely sought out, forcing ahri on the offensive in protection of herself. every part of the fox is imbued with ancient, buried magic, and humans simply must have what they cannot.
much like her tails, ahri is now hesitant to allow even those closest to her a singular touch [ ... ] or taste of what runs through her veins. one lick would drive a mortal man mad━━━his mind and body far too vulnerable to withstand the sheer potency of raw magic consumed, though many would be driven to the brink of losing themselves to experience it one time. for with great risk, comes great reward: there is no taste such as she.
upon her ichor first touching one's tongue, you are overcome with the a sweet, floral flavor that unfolds across your taste buds slowly, like a lover's caress. it is roses and snow lilies and molasses and aged wine. at it's peak, it evolves into bokbunja: sweetness glimmering off into tartness, then a subtle spiciness that dances in your mouth, setting of your senses. once this has settled and the aftertaste comes, one experiences a gentle earthiness that blooms softly, similar only to green tea with warm honey, and something that cannot be placed. not once does her blood taste of copper; it is otherworldly, the blood of an ancient with magic running ribbons through-out her entire anatomy.

Weeks and months apart, and that's all she has to say? Kimiko's never been one for words, even if what she feels is far more than what she can express out loud.
What you love often leaves, Kimiko finds. Nothing lasts forever, and so much of life (and Kimiko's life in general) is marked by impermanence. She doesn't want that to happen, but it so often does, and so much of Kimiko's life is about trying to mitigate loss and how it renders her empty. (She just wants something, someone to stick around, just for once!...)
What she's beginning to learn, however, is that, sometimes, what you love comes back to you. Who you love comes back to you. Mark is someone she cares about and loves, deeply and wholly, and for all of the upheaval, mess, and drama that their powers and whatever else life throws at them... She knows Mark will return to her, even if he has to crawl out of space to do so. Part of that is terrifying, yes, but it makes her happy. Warm. Safe, somehow. She just hopes that she can be the same source of stability for him.
'Mark?' She takes him in her arms, sturdy but comforting. She's used to Mark appearing in her apartment, often late, but nothing like this. He's shown up bruised before, yes... but not this defeated. She drops the tablet that she was holding while working on her semester project, but she doesn't care. Not now, anyway. Kimiko brushes the hair out of his eyes. He looks worse for wear, more so than she's ever seen him, and she can feel him going limp. She's strong, though, so she doesn't buckle. Even if he has to be invincible (literally) to the world, she wants him to know he doesn't have to be, not with her. He can lean on her, and she likes to think that they can lean on each other.
'I... I...' What is she going to say? What can she say, when all of the things she wants to stick in her throat like a fishbone?
'Missed you. So much.'

I meant to post about this back when TTPD was released and never got around to it, but it's so touching to me that Taylor has peppered so many British-isms into the album, and not just in a jokey kind of way like in "London Boy" back in the Lover days.
It's such a beautiful, subtle nod to how much that was her life for years, and to the marks the city and the muse(s) left on her. Because isn't that true of any of us when we've been around a person for so long, or live in a place we've made into our home? You start picking up their speech patterns until they become second nature. (For instance, one of my best friends moved abroad for university, and before long she started dropping in words like "fortnight," "lorry,""shops" (vs. stores) into conversation when we'd speak, which only got stronger along with her accent shifting as the years went by and she stayed there.) Kind of a love language code switching.
It’s sprinkled throughout the album. “For a fortnight” in “Fortnight,” “blokes” on “The Alchemy,” “the shops,”* in “How Did It End?” I think my favourite use of it is in “The Bolter,” because it’s such a classic twangy yeehaw Taylor song, but she’s got these tiny turns of phrase that point to where she spent a large portion of her adult life. (E.g. “best mates,” “out the drive,”* “wish he wouldn’t be sore,”*)(*yes I know these aren’t like, specifically not-American, but as someone who has grown up with North American English in the same generation as Taylor, these definitely feel anachronistic/foreign. Like if I hear someone say “the shops” instead of “the store,” “drive” instead of driveway or “sore” meaning upset, I’m thinking they either watch a lot of 1950s movies or they’re from the UK. And yes I know it’s to make everything rhyme BUT THAT’S THE POINT SHE IS MAKING THEM RHYME ON PURPOSE ok I’m stopping now before the linguistics nerd in me jumps out) It’s such a cool merging of influences, much like the album as a whole fuses together experiences and muses and sounds.
And that gets back to the “I love this place for so long,”of it all. The place is the city, the place is her home, the place is the person, and they are all part of her. To me, these are part of the subtext of the album, of the big love she once felt for all of it, and how it changed her. And, why it hurt so much to leave it all behind. So she’s starting over back home in America, but she’s taking a little bit of London with her for its curtain call on TTPD.

" the heel of her palm pushes away thick strands of wet, sticky hair from the fox's face, dowsed in blood. her fangs bare, pressing taut against her lower lip, digging into the rose red flesh; the smell of the hunt lingers on her still, as it courses through her body, sharpening every sense akin to an apex predator relishing in the heated aftermath of a kill.
ahri's eyes fix on the man before her. all this time, she'd known some doubt towards her in him—that, she could understand, as those who danced along the brink of monster-hood and humanity were ought to be on edge. the beast's back straightens, and she kicks aside the soot furred creature that had nearly lunged at him from the inky shadows, displaying a deceptive strength in her legs.
" there are stranger friends to make, i assure you, alucard. " gradually, the violence in her settles, slit pupils dilating once more and ears relaxing atop her skull. " —there is a river near by. can i trust that you'll keep a watchful eye on me while i wash off, too? " ahri begins to turn away, fingers splaying and wrist flicking as she fans off some of the running ichor. the last sentence is spoken with an unsubtle layer of playful sarcasm, maw almost softening into a subdued smile.

I love love love how Larian made Astarion:
Avoiding having sex with Tav altogether if you kinda have a wholesome relationship after he confesses that he really likes Tav for real and not just to secure himself a protector/ally. It’s so cute that he just takes some time to figure out what sex means to him in terms of genuine connection with someone and not just a manipulation tactic which has been a behaviour forced on him by Cazador 😭
He is sooo insecure about it, that I already found two instances of him mentioning it: when twin drows in Baldur’s Gate offer their services either to Tav or both to Tav and Astarion. He refuses and asks if the reason Tav would want this is the lack of sex between them. And the second time when Halsin offers to have a poly relationship and you ask Astarion about it (which he is in general chill about) but once again asks Tav if the reason is not Astarion not having sex with them.
Poor Astarion is still having fear that the only thing that can make someone be interested in him is sex. It makes me feel stuff 😰
