Hello, my name is Ellis and welcome to Abraham Hicks Relationship Meditation & Guided Well Being Motivation Music. I week from today I would have been in Germany to meet some of my friends of Tumblr. @markroome , @heterotopian & @intothevortex among others!!

This harsh reality of not being able to go this year has hit my heart pretty hard as of late. I do remain grateful for my life and health. I remain grateful to have had the funds available during a struggle to pay bills early on in Covid. I remain grateful for my sobriety and my change of life in the last 9 months.

I know in my heart there will be other chances. I was given what I needed, not what I wanted this year. ♥

I have been distant lately and it might not change. Life takes on different priorities at certain turning points in life itself. But I certainly appreciate all the support and the feeling of being "home" with my friends here in the Tumblr world when I have time to visit.

Once again I am thrilled to present a reading of a poem by my long-time Tumblr friend Ambrose Harte @ambroseharte & @scatteredthoughts2

Ambrose is the master of the macabre, and I adore his “dark poetry”. In the last years, I made quite a couple of readings of Ambrose’s work, but this is the first one that I posted to this blog. And I am sure it won’t be the last.

Favourite idea to get creative with: Meist kommen meine Ideen, wenn ich gerade einschlafen will und ich überlege und überlege, ob ich doch noch aufstehe und mir eine Notiz mache :)

What do you like to do when you’re alone: Einfach vor mich hin träumen, Musik hören, ein bisschen singen und tanzen und die Zeit für mich genießen

What do I think of my friends: Ich habe nur eine Handvoll guter Freunde und die sind natürlich meine Besten.

Cat or dog: Früher mochte ich lieber Katzen. Nun bin ich auf den Hund gekommen. Die lassen sich besser führen ;) Aber ich mag sie gern bei anderen. Selbst möchte ich kein Haustier momentan.

Number of blankets I sleep with: Eine riesengroße für zwei Personen zum Kuscheln

Dream job: Ein Job ohne Termine und mit viel Freiheit *haha*

Dream trip: Für mich war Australien vor einigen Jahren das tollste Land, was ich bisher bereist habe. Gern wieder!

When I made this account: Oh, jetzt muss ich überlegen, es war im letzten Jahr – ich glaube im August 2017.

Why I made this account: Ich wollte endlich alles, was mir so durch den Kopf geht auch für andere Menschen sichtbar machen und bin froh, dass ich mich hier mit anderen kreativen Köpfen vernetzen kann.

The favorite idea to get creative with: giving things a new purpose, making something new out of “old” stuff - being crafty is one of my “talents” :P

What do you like to do when you’re alone: Enjoy the fuck out of that! I do all the “weird” things I don’t get to do when others are there: rearrange my apartment with loud music playing in the background, write and read what I write out loud, take long baths while I listen to Radiohead, record myself reciting my favorite poems, read books without being interrupted, clean my apartment or just take a long fucking nap. 

What do I think of my friends: they’re unusual and inspiring in many ways and I love them dearly! I choose them carefully and by their level of weirdness. Distance does not determine how close we are. :P

Cat or dog: Cats are cool but dogs are warm and cuddly, especially my dog :P 

Number of blankets I sleep with: Two if it’s cold, zero when it’s hot

Dream job: My current job, because you know.... it pays the bills and that’s always a good thing. 

Dream trip: oh that’s easy, a trip to Downside and meet up with Terrible - and I would take @shewasascar with me!

Der Nachbar // eine Kurzgeschichte

geschrieben und gelesen von mir

Heute geschah eines dieser ... Dinge ... Ereignisse ... eines dieser Ereignisse, die einfach so geschehen - scheinbar grundlos. Gleichwohl Folge von unzähligen anderen ... Dingen ... Ereignissen. Folge einer scheinbar willkürlichen und vermeintlich unzusammenhängenden Aneinanderreihung von Geschehnissen, die unmerklich, dennoch unaufhaltsam wie die Abermillionen Tonnen gefrorenen Wassers in einem Gletscher auf einen ganz bestimmten Endpunkt zusteuern.

Das Wort „Schicksal“ kommt in den Sinn und ja, heute war einer dieser Tage, an denen dieser nebulöse Begriff „Schicksal“ eine regelrecht materielle Gegenständlichkeit bekam.

Aber wie hätte ich ahnen können, dass dieser Tag den Endpunkt der langen Ereigniskette darstellen würde? Dass dieser Tag die Erfüllung meines Schicksals bedeutete?

Es war Sonntag Nachmittag. Ich hatte gerade eine Kanne Tee aufgesetzt, als es an der Türe klopfte.

„Guten Tag. Mein Name ist Johannes Schneider. Ich bin der neue Nachbar von 134.“

Der hochgewachsene junge Mann in der Ritterrüstung lächelte mich hinter dem hochgeklappten Visier seines Helmes freundlich an. Ich versuchte mir meine Verwunderung nicht allzu sehr anmerken zu lassen als ich ihn hereinbat. Ich hätte gerade Tee gemacht, ob er mir bei einem Tässchen Gesellschaft leisten wolle, Kuchen sei sicher auch noch da. Der junge Mann schien ehrlich erfreut. Er schraubte umständlich seinen Helm von den Schultern, hängte ihn an den Hutständer und machte es sich auf dem Sofa bequem - so gut das mit einer knapp hundert Pfund schweren Metallrüstung eben geht.

Johannes Schneider war, wie es sich herausstellte, ein zurückhaltender aber sehr angenehmer und gebildeter Gesprächspartner. Er war bereits vor zwei Wochen eingezogen, hatte aber immer noch nicht viele seiner neuen Nachbarn kennen gelernt, weshalb er beschlossen hatte, sich persönlich vorzustellen.

Wir plauderten bestimmt eine Stunde über dies und das – hauptsächlich belanglose Dinge - und ich vermied es sorgfältig, allzu auffällig auf sein an das Sofa gelehnte Schwert und die geschmiedeten Handschuhe zu starren, mit denen er die Kuchengabel und das Porzellantässchen erstaunlich geschickt handhabte. Er schien meine verstohlenen Blicke nicht zu bemerken und machte auch keine Anstalten seine etwas unkonventionelle Art der Bekleidung zu erklären.

„Was machen Sie eigentlich beruflich, Herr Schneider?“, fragte ich schließlich.

„Beruflich? Nun, ich bin Held.“, sagte er, als sei es das selbstverständlichste der Welt.

„Das ist bestimmt ein sehr... naja, interessanter Beruf.“

„Man kommt viel herum. Ist oft an der frischen Luft. Lernt eine Menge interessanter Leute kennen.“

„Vermutlich auch sehr gefährlich. All dieser Prinzessinnen-Retten-Schwertkampf-Kram... In den Krieg ziehen... Solche Dinge...“, mutmaßte ich.

„Wissen Sie, es kommt auf die Einstellung an“, die Augen des jungen Mannes leuchteten. „Es ist mehr als nur ein Beruf. Es ist meine  Berufung! Schicksal, verstehen Sie? Glauben Sie an Schicksal?“

Da war er, dieser ominöse Begriff „Schicksal“. Aber was ist „Schicksal“? Wirklich Vorbestimmung oder nur eine Entschuldigung für das eigene Unvermögen.

Der junge Mann sah mich verständnislos an. Ich versuchte mich zu erklären.

„Wissen Sie, Herr Schneider, was Sie Schicksal nennen ist doch nichts anderes als ein Symptom. Ein Symptom von Leben.“

Mein Gast schien verwirrt und wurde mit steigender Verwirrung auch augenfällig nervöser.

„Symptome kann man lindern oder im besten Fall sogar ganz verschwinden lassen, genau wie bei einer Krankheit. Das heißt aber nicht, dass die Ursache erkannt ist. Wir kümmern uns nur um die Symptome, immer nur um die Symptome. Dinge geschehen, Herr Schneider. Manchmal einfach so... manchmal aus einem gewissen Grund. Unsere Aufgabe ist es herauszufinden, was wir daraus machen können.“

Plötzlich glaubte ich, ein verstehendes Aufblitzen in den Augen des jungen Mannes zu erkennen.

„Würden Sie mir eine Frage beantworten? Was machen Sie beruflich?“

So wie das Leben in all seinen Irrungen und Wirrungen schließlich doch zum Tod führt, gibt es Tage, an denen sich das Schicksal kristallisiert.

„Nun, Herr Schneider, ich bin ... Drache.“
