Oberon is a mage in training who is on their final year of schooling before they're allowed to do independent study. Their focus is on spatial and time manipulation and though they think magic is really neat they'd also prefer to go goof off or sleep than go to class. BACKGROUND

you are born, and you are perfect. the firstborn heir to andromeda and leonardo whimsiwick– the precious princeling to a budding empire. the whimsiwicks are overwhelmingly new money. andromeda’s parents founded the company whimsiwick body modifications & plastic surgery corporation shortly before she’s born. when leonardo, a surgeon andromeda falls in love with during her residency, is brought into the picture, her parents have only one request of him– drop your name and become one of ours. 

and so, your birth becomes symbolic. the next generation of whimsiwicks to usher the family into further prosperity. you are doted upon as a child– spoiled rotten at every moment, your every desire fulfilled, and with few repercussions for your wrongdoings. when your sister is born, there is someone else for you to bother. she grows to despise you for your antics and your desire to break your parents' rules.

eventually, another sister arrives, followed by another sister. by this time, you’re eight and see less and less of your parents. you are passed off to nannies once you’re old enough, as are your sisters. school interested you little; you found it far too easy for your liking. you excel in advanced interests, but even this isn’t enough to keep you occupied.

 you cycle through various extracurriculars– dance, art, theater, music, volleyball, photography, writing, designing, and more over the years, but none can fully capture your attention. you spend your teen years searching for something that genuinely interests you– that thing that would ignite your heart and soul. 

amidst all of this, something darker lurks within you. beneath your charismatic demeanor is someone prone to bouts of cruelty. those moments when nothing seems to exist outside of yourself. and truthfully, those are the moments you feel most alive.

you begin attending parties in the capitol. you take to the varying crowds quickly. you are dynamic, moving through various circles, beloved wherever you go– accumulating friends, lovers, and everything in between. you eventually begin throwing parties of your own– parties that quickly become the talk of the town. 

it’s not until your parents direct an ultimatum your way that you begin cleaning up your act. finish medical school, or your trust fund is cut off. it’s a peculiar offer, but you know why they ask that of you– to maintain your familial image and all.

and so, you spend the majority of your time in school, and the remaining time chasing your every hedonistic desire. med-school comes easier to you than most– you’d already been a natural at school, and being supported by wealthy parents certainly takes off some of the pressure. 

you graduate from medical school, land your top choice residency hospital (a hefty donation from your family proves to be an excellent motivator), and complete your six years of residency. nowadays, you're meant to shadow your parents and learn the inner workings of the company for when the time eventually arrives for you to take over.

you do your best to avoid such subjects. in all honesty, you’ve never had any interest in taking over the company or much interest in the realm of surgery and body modification in general. still, you continue to make your family believe you're the golden boy while stalling all else related to your takeover.

FUN FACTS

with him not only being a partier and also someone who made it through a medical residency– oberon’s schedule tends to be as unpredictable as he is. sometimes he needs little to no sleep– other times he spends the entire day rejuvenating. 

oberon’s parties are well known across the capitol. they’re invite-only, with special drinks and substances explicitly provided for the occasion of his parties. he is the center of them all, a modern dionysus– constantly surrounded by his pleasure disciples.

oberon has three younger siblings: hero, cordelia, and mariana. he thinks hero is uptight, cordelia is cool (and perhaps too cool for her own good at times), and mariana cares about things too much. overall, he generally finds them tolerable– except when hero pesters him.

oberon is non-commital when it comes to anything outside of his pursuits. he’s a notoriously fickle lover, but known to show someone a good time with the time they do spend together.

oberon has a way of making people feel like they’re the only other person in the room with him. the way he sweeps up others in his fantasies, its easy to become intoxicated with such. 

still, there is something that isn’t quite right with him… in the way light never quite catches his eye.

charlotte oberon isn't required to tell the truth. at fifteen, she's faced enough grief to last her a lifetime. rosie oberon isn't interested in parenting her remaining child. as a mother, she's faced the unthinkable. henry oberon… well. we'll get to him.

when oliver oberon grasps lottie's hand and emerges from the creek in the oberons' backyard, lottie is overjoyed. after all, her brother has returned from the dead, and what more could she want? charlotte oberon doesn't need to tell the truth. not to her family. and not to herself.

but as her lies threaten to drown her newly vulnerable family, charlie must face the one thing she fears the most - her past - and to start talking. after all, what could be so bad about her past?

I just wanted to say thank you for your work! My sister and I loved Fairytopia. You're also one of my favorite Star Trek novelists and the Gargoyles episode "Ill Met By Moonlight" is one of my favorites from the series :) The episodes about Oberon's Children were always so fun, and that story was such a great intro to Oberon and Titania.

2. when in canon does your self insert come in? do you have a scene in mind for your entrance? Like most of the Origin Characters, Rivera would sort of just be... Ran into. However, all of the OCs have an intro monolouge when chosen as a pc, and Rivera's would go something like this:

"Ever since I could remember, I had nothing. I was nothing. I only have vague, fleeting memories of my parents before they vanished from Elturel. The only family I ever knew were the fellow urchins on the street, fighting tooth and nail just to stay alive. We were nothing more than street rats to the city, vermin among the shadows. But, that all changed when I sought out Lord Oberon. King of beasts, head of the Seelie Court, truly a monarch of the Fey. The day I made a pact with him was the day I finally became something. Once they enter a proper relationship (and once Rivera is comfortable), Karlach wastes no time in annoying her love for him to the world. Their relationship becomes something of a mainstay at camp, Gale and Halsin admiring their devotion, Astarion poking light fun at them Lae'zel continuing to find the concept of love ever an enigma.

Fate & Phantasms and the Slapstick Museum

man we picked a rough time to start curating lists for event servant builds. first the grailfront has no bonuses, then valentines had only like two people, and now the White Day event gives a bonus to every male servant alive (except 100 personas). so, obviously we're not listing every guy we've ever built here- instead, we'll go over the four servants partaking in the heist, and try to figure out how useful they'd be in a D&D caper!

also, we're officially announcing that viewers' choice suggestions are open again! you can comment on basically any Fate & Phantasms post from now until 24 hours after the faerie knights drop, and we'll add your suggestions to the build lottery! you can suggest just about anything- servants that won't get a build for years, a character from your favorite piece of fiction, or even a build we've done in the past that you want to see redone with the newer character options. We'll include our current crop at the end of the post!

Voyager

you'd think Boyager was just another cute face, but he actually comes with some nice skills to pull off heists. first off, his infusions, specifically Sending Stones, Bag of Holding, and Boots of Elvenkind, are all super useful for co-ordinating and performing criminal activity.

he also comes with Tool Expertise in thieves' tools and some Flashes of Genius, so skill checks to break in shouldn't be a problem here.

most robberies also happen under cover of night, so his levels in Twilight Cleric are also a huge help here- he's got nightvision, advantage on initiative checks, and even flight as long as he's in the dark. he's got a nice blend of supportive skills and options he can use himself to fit in any role on a job. he's also small, so it's much easier to hide away!

Amakusa Shirou

clerics aren't usually high on the list of people you'd bring on a heist, but Shirou's an exception to the rule. clerics have a strong spell list, and that's before we get into the fact that he's an arcana cleric. he can cast a ton of very useful spells that will let him scope out the scene of the future crime from afar. he definitely fits the "voice with an internet connection" trope, especially with his combat power reduced from the intro.

Charles-Henri Sanson

ironically, despite Sanson having the most levels in rogue he's the least helpful in a heist, outside of emergency medical support. while he can deliver a serious sneak attack in a pinch, he's definitely the most up-and-up member of the squad. that being said, he does have a very useful niche. as a dour, impersonal rogue, it'll be really easy for him to take the attention away from Shirou and the others.

Jing Ke

aside from the person who can literally fly, Jing Ke is easily the most mobile member of the group, as well as the one most suited to quietly taking down guards on a regular basis. no offense to Sanson, but he does only have one attack per turn. she's definitely the "strong guy" of the group, and she's good at her job- as long as you can handle her abysmal wisdom checks.

Character Intro: Horkos (Kingdom of Ichor)

Nicknames- The Amber King, The Oathbinder by the people of Olympius

Age- 42 (immortal)

Location- Little Athens, New Olympus

Personality- He's sure of himself, confident, & aggressive. He's also highly detail oriented, organized, and reliable. He's dating.

He has the standard abilities of a god except shapeshifting. As the god of oaths his other powers/abilities include amber generation/manipulation, limited pyrokinesis, truth sense, conjuring up contracts, limited hydrokinesis (as it pertains to the waters of the river Styx), having an innate sense of oaths/promises a person has kept or broken, and limited curse inducement.

Horkos resides in a brownstone in the Little Athens neighborhood of New Olympus. All the doors are made out of Stygian Iron & Celestial Bronze. Burgundy, caramel brown, ivory, and merlot red are major interior colors. There's rich dark oakwood & marble flooring, an onyx kitchen island, a rooftop terrace, tufted velvet furniture, a wine cellar, as well as a state-of-the-art steam shower.

He has an animal companion- a griffin named Oberon who's his usual mode of transportation when traveling great distances. They have an unbreakable bond with Oberon being fiercely protective of his rider.

A go-to drink for him is a dirty martini. He also likes mineral water, beer, pinot noir, manhattans, whiskey sours, & negronis. Usuals from The Roasted Bean include an olympian sized roast coffee, a large iced americano, and a large iced black tea.

Horkos takes pride in his physical shape. He has an iron clad workout routine. If he's able to, he'll work out three times a day.

Because of his profession he normally dresses in dark & structured tailored suits. Off work, Horkos dresses casually in cashmere shirts & sweaters, track suits, sneakers, and jeans.

A typical breakfast for him ia a bowl of maple oatmeal topped with chopped walnuts & peanut butter. He's also a fan of the Earthly Harvest raisin crunch cereal. Horkos also enjoys the breakfast platter at The Hearthside Diner- loaded scrambled eggs (added with feta cheese, onions, black olives, & cheddar cheese), with slices of buttered toast, home fries, and strips of bacon & sausage (he likes them burnt to a crisp).

He's fluent in all the languages spoken in Olympius.

Horkos is thinking of buying a place in the Underworld.

A favorite thing he likes getting from The Bread Box is the BLT sandwich along with a large roasted red pepper & tomato soup.

Horkos' main source of income comes from being the city's district attorney. His most high profile case was the trial of Socrates. He also teaches the contracts class at the New Olympus School of Law. For other means of income Horkos is also a contributing writer for O Dianooumenos and Zeus' gentlemen's magazine. He also models for/endorses Platinum Alchemy, Shadow Specs (the god Dolos' designer eyewear brand), & The Black Label- the menswear brand of Moros (god of doom).

In the pantheon Horkos is friends with Nomos (god of laws), Neicus (god of debate & appeal), Alastor (god of blood feuds & vengeance), Favian (god of philosophy), Coeus (Titan god of foresight, intellect, & knowledge); he's a frequent guest on the Nocturnal Thoughts podcast, Astraeus (Titan god of dusk), Helios (Titan god of the sun), The Ourea (esteemed mountain gods), Axiótimos (god of honor), Soter (god of safety), Ponos (god of hard labor & toil), Aion (god of time, eternity, & the zodiacs), and Aletheia (goddess of truth). He dislikes Psuedologos (god of lies). Horkos was mentored by Styx (Titaness of hatred). Outside the pantheon, he's friends with a few cyclopes & giants.

As for his dating life, the longest relationship he's ever been in was with Sophrosyne (goddess of moderation, temperance, & restraint). Horkos ended things just twenty years shy of a century. He also briefly dated Argía (goddess of holidays), Hesperis (goddess of the evening & sunset), and Hesychia (goddess of quiet, stillness, rest, & silence). Now, Horkos is quietly dating Apheleia (goddess of simplicity). On paper the two of them have next to nothing in common, but they feel comfortable around each other. The intense physical connection was indeed a pleasant surprise for him. After they made love for the first time, Horkos was a sweaty trembling blubbering mess. Apheleia comforted him- cuddling him, kissing his forehead, & whispering sweet sayings in Old Greek. Horkos wants to date her publicly, but she doesn't feel so sure.

Ponos is often his cigar smoking buddy when he frequents the premier smoking room/wine bar.

His favorite dessert is the milopita from Hollyhock's Bakery. He also likes Apheleia's baklava.

Horkos has taken on blacksmithing as a latest hobby.

His all time favorite meal is herb roasted lamb chops. Apheleia's black bean soup comes in as a close second.

My sketching style is very recognizable so it's 100% my art style but I think it's interesting how things like the shape of the eyelashes, thickness of the eyelashes, underlashes, and how the eyes and rings in the eyes are drawn make my drawings give off a different vibe

Cuz I'm using the same art style for all of these doodles. I tend to draw the eyes of sharper tsurime-eyed meow meow mf charas the same way. I just do the details differently depending on the character

I'm definitely not distributing my VRoid/MMD models publically though. My mutuals/friends are free to have access to any VRoid/MMD models I make in the future, though <3

I like to have my scans and art stuff under my control and limit access to my stuff, to make sure my things don't get used by unsavoury people, so that it doesn't get reposted around, etc.

Especially with how bad the MysMes fandom's reposting issues are.

And I hate Funa and her fanbase in general cuz they're uncritical af, etc., so there's no way in hell I'm sharing my WATGBS AU MMD models

VRoid Rambles

I watched a bunch of FGO MMD videos (of Douman, Oberon, and Morgan), and now I feel tempted to try my hand at making MMD models for my faves (Selena, Tatsumiya, Idate) in VRoid Studio…

I wanna make 3D models so I can make my faves dance in MMD Selena and IdaTatsu MMDs you will be real someday…

I'd use VRoid Studio because it provides bases for hair and clothing, and I don't feel like using Blender tbh

Also I watched a bunch of VRoid Studio model making tutorial videos, it's way easier than I thought. Most of it is honestly just drawing normally and using preset assets as a guide

Thank god FGO being so big and Douman and Oberon's huge popularity means that people will definitely make MMD models for them

JP fans have already made models of many FGO charas, so I can play around with them. I can make LimGuda and ObeGuda MMDs… It's common practice in the MMD community to credit all the assets you use: Models, Camera, Dance Motions, Stages, Lighting Effects, etc.

I saw JP users say they made 3D models of FGO charas (such as Douman and Oberon) with programs like VRoid Studio or Blender. So it's totally doable

It'd be kinda fun to try making MMD models for my FGO faves in the future too, but not now

Especially with how detailed their designs are (especially Douman's)

Imo Douman is way harder than Idate because of their hair and outfit

I'd have to use the OG Cantarella motions though, Idate, Judar, and Xanxus would not know shit how to play the violin LMFAO

Like for Douman and Kuroha, the violin part would actually still fit, like I could actually still see that for those two, but it just doesn't fit charas like Idate, Judar, and Xanxus

I personally prefer Cantarella fan covers (VOCALOID/UTAU and human fan-covers) over the original due to stronger tuning/mixing

But Cantarella's instrumentals are excellent

The original Cantarella MMD has a dance section. I love the little spin and jump in the air and landing on the ground, I think that fits my faves more

The remastered Cantarella ~grace edition~ has a violin playing part which is aesthetically nice
