ooo this is such a great question anon! thanks for asking, bud, i've never got this before! Since this question was sent to my animanga blog, i'm going to just answer about couples in fandoms i rb on here!

Even though it seems like I go hard for non-canon couples (which believe me I do), there are so many canon couples that I actually love with my entire heart:

hak/yona (akatsuki no yona)

even though i still have to catch up to this manga, this couple has owned my heart since the moment they appeared on page. they are the definition of a true power couple who will go to the ends of the world to save one another. they throw themselves into danger just so the other can have the chance of safety. they've got one another's back through everything and anything. they will yell at one another but hold hands together side by side as they stand staring down their enemies. i just love how hak inspires yona to stand on her own and yona inspires hak to see the value in himself.

sakura/syaoran (cardcaptor sakura)

they're one of my top three childhood couples. they are just adorable and precious and they deserve only good things ever. they are just children who don't deserve to shoulder so much on their shoulders and yet they do it with minimal complaining. they are there for one another, especially through the hardest moments. he's her pillar and she's his heart. also they jumpstarted my pink x green shipping and i will always love them so much.

inuyasha/kagome (inuyasha)

they are also one of my top three childhood couples. they are everything. inuyasha sees the strength in kagome's compassion when she doesn't see it herself and kagome sees the softness in inuyasha's toughness that he doesn't let others see. they are one of the it couples. they fight, push one another to the edge, and bring one another back without another word. inuyasha's unwavering belief in kagome allows her to grow into a fucking warrior of a girl because his strength keeps her going and growing. kagome accepts all of inuyasha, which is huge for him because he's been accepted by neither world because he's never been enough for either world. but there comes kagome, not giving a shit about the worlds beliefs and going with what she believes in and that's him. it's beautiful.

lan wangji/wei wuxian (mo dao zu shi)

i'm going to cheat here because i haven't finished watching the anime but i have read the novel and watched the live-action show. i have been shipping them ever since i watched the show first because anyone who knows me knows that i love the red x blue ship aesthetic. i love how they went from strangers to friends to enemies (but not really) to lovers. it's a classic trope and i will always love it. the fact that lwj recognized wwx when he came back?? that's true love. lwj is there to support wwx when he doesn't want anyone to see him falling and wwx is there to break down lwj's world, to show that there's more to the world than just blindly following rules. the fact that they went from star-crossed lovers to being married is just the best thing ever. they are filled with all the angst AND they get their happy ending.

On to my non-canon couples (they are kept alive in my heart thanks to ao3):

dabihawks (boku no hero academia)

i will say that i have dropped bnha for now (unless two characters die, in which case i'll definitely pick it back up) but that being said, the fact that dabi grew up the child of a hero and turned to villainy while hawks grew up the child of a criminal and turned to heroism? this shit is so poetic. they are parallel lines moving in the opposite direction, ships in the night, opposites attract in such a hellish way. not only is their aesthetic red vs. blue but it's also angel vs. devil - the hero with the wings bathed in the colour of blood vs. the villain with the flames bathed in the colour of the sky. they've got an apollo/icarus vibe that i love so much. there's so much mutual destruction and they had so much potential to be even more insane than they already are.

soukoku (bungou stray dogs)

they are probably my otp of otp's right now, the ones that really kicked the whole red/blue shipping out of control for me. they are idiotic strangers to idiotic frenemies to idiotic enemies to idiotic partners forever. it's so poetic to me that dazai's ability is named no longer human and yet he's the one to bring back chuuya's humanity to him. i just really love that chuuya, who feels so brutally human so much of the time, hosts a god of calamity and can only be brought back to himself by dazai's touch. like point me to a better lvoe story than that? you can't because they are the epitome of catastrophic love. they don't judge one another's actions because they understand one another better than anyone else can. they are each other's weakness and each other's strength. they will destroy one another before anyone else can get the chance.

Im finishing re watching inuyahsa for the 75th time or whatever and catching up on the yashahime manga (the anime was really disappointing ngl) and i have many thoughts and many drawings to share on. One thing that will be true is i will be drawing inuyashaverse klance. Feudal fairy tale but slightly more homosexual. (A tad bit)

Summary: At first, Inuyasha thought it was sort of funny. A little weird, but funny. But underwear keeps disappearing from his clothesline and it’s getting annoying. So he goes to find the underwear stealer and confront them and finds it’s… a really gorgeous girl. Who has no idea why a half-demon is yelling at her about underwear. Well… that is until he finds the culprit.

So let’s start out by saying that when it comes to the wonderful @sassybratt9791, you try things. In this case, you pop one more multishipping cherry and deliver an InuKik, but secondarily, you get inspired by the world’s most adorable story and write it into the Inuyashaverse. favorite thing about them: oof where do i start?? her character is very personal to me. i really struggled with chronic depression & anxiety in my teen years & immersing myself in her world was a real escape for me. at that time (& still to this day tbh) she was just it for me lmao. like, she had all the qualities i admired in a female character. shes drop dead gorgeous, intelligent, headstrong, has a dry & witty sense of humor, and she was so driven to do what made herself happy that she was willing to die trying. i rly saw her as a role model during those years & kinda adopted her personality in a way. & because i started watching inuyasha at such a young age (i think 10/11) she kinda stuck with me all my life lmao. ANYWAYS TL;DR SHE’S LIKE REALLY PRETTY

least favorite thing about them: i adore her to my core but shes very impulsive by nature and made some pretty big mistakes that led to her untimely death imo. yes, her entire character arc is heartbreakingly beautiful and i appreciate it for what it is BUT her character had the potential to grow and change so much & i dont think it was really necessary for her to die. i see a lot of people (esp u know who) say that kagura got her freedom and her peace and all this but honestly what happened to her is not what she wanted at all lmao?? she wanted to be alive girl. and with how open the rules of the inuyashaverse are there are like 9000 ways she could have been saved/brought back and become a key player in the storyline. and the potential for sesskagu would fall still in line with sesshomaru’s character development in the main series. obviously his affection for her really changed him in a pivotal way and he would still struggle with his pride considering the fact that her dad is literally the shittiest dude ever and set his arm on fire ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

brotp: oh i have a lot lmaO um 1. kagura/kohaku - obviously they have a pretty familial (albeit distant cuz trust no hoe) relationship already but man if things ended differently she would absolutely be big sis #2 2. kagura/kikyo - i really love them as a ship but even platonically they are absolutely unstoppable. i dont even think they ever say anything to each other in the original canon? but based on personality & character traits alone they would have an incredible friendship dynamic. 3. kagura/sango - ultimate girlboss duo. definitely mom friends. take the kids out to train together type friends. drinking sake and dancing by the bonfire type friends. working out & cooking together type friends. ya dig? 4. kagura/kagome - i feel like kagome would be scared of her at first & kagura would be a lil put off by how pure kagome is but they would grow on each other like no other. definitely gossip friends. ask each other for relationship advice type friends. telling sex stories type friends. very non-judgemental & accepting vibe. kagura is also very curious by nature and would be enamored with kagome’s stories about her life in tokyo. 5. kagura/jakotsu - THE CHISME. fashion icons. what else do u need.

otp: WELL OBVIOUSLY sesskagu BUT consider the following: kogaxkagura - i know what youre thinking. but listen. the hatefucking. kikyoxkagura - MY ENTIRE HEART. healing together. working through trauma together. being each other’s rock & confidante. a whole PARTNERSHIP. very loyal & devoted. very deep feelings. yuraxkagura - aight this one is purely aesthetic but come ON

as for sesskagu..... WHEW to me they just scream (bisexual) power couple. she keeps him in check, and he appreciates her boldness. they are equals. she doesn’t need his protection, but sometimes it just feels nice to know she’s safe. they’re not terribly verbal but they don’t need to be. touch is her love language. he just loves her presence. he is constantly in awe of her, and not always for positive reasons, but nonetheless. they have an unspoken & unbreakable bond.

:Inuyasha Verse Crossover Headcannons:

It is lion king headcannon that scar lost the elders gift of roar for misuse. The lion guard was created to protect the pridelands from danger. Scar was entrusted to weild the honor of such leaving the younger to rule the pridelands. He was infuriated by this and then decided to try to force the lion guard to help him take the throne. They refused, leaving Taka no other choice but to destroy them with the roar. The elders stripped him and the lion felt he had lost a part of his soul. This devestaded scar afterwards he took a turn for the worse.

Inuyasha verse headcannon is that this in fact did happen. As well as the murder of his brother and nephew.

Upon gaining the throne of the south a right that was entitled due to age as far as scar was concerned. He was by this point pure evil and fashioned a fang that would return that power that was lost. Many found the sword a disgrace not by power but because of the fact scar trapped the souls of his elders inside the fang to recreate the great roar.

Shortly after gaining the title of Lord he sought to gain back his ability the catch was he had to install the roar or the source of such inside the fang. An easy enough task for the young lord one would assume. It was in fact very difficult for him and took years to do simply because one can not call upon the dead without a way to the underworld. He trapped the elders of his people inside the sword and triumphantly proved his worth to speak enough to be viewed as Lord of the south. Returning from his disgraceful journey he tested his new weapon ending an ageless war. Thus being the first time the lands accepted him as their lord.

The roar manifests itself in cloud like appearance. In this attack the souls of his trapped elders in their true lion form let loose a powerful roar that sweeps the lands leaving nothing but destruction and chaos. Nothing can survive its path. The weilder has the ability to bring forth discord because of it’s tainted purpose.

Scar had managed to bring forth that which he considered stolen from him and would use it to either enforce or defend depending on the mood of the southern lord.
