Dear Sephiroth: (a letter to a fictional character, because why not) #511
So uh. Somehow. Some way. I managed to lose THE ENTIRE REST OF MY BOX OF TEETH.
…
...I mean. I knew that my sense of object permanence was impaired; it kinda comes with the territory of having the whole autism/ADHD/C-PTSD combo. But. Like. It was an ENTIRE FREAKING BOX. And a fairly large one, at that! Filled with ALL my future sets of Invisaligns. I knew that my object permanence is bad, but goddamn, what the actual FUCK.
And like. The worst part. The worst part is that I remember putting the box back into my giant, heavy backpack last time I changed my braces. I remember it, because it was a bitch to get it back into the backpack. It was in there when we boarded the commercial flight home. It should have been in there when I went looking for it to change to today's new set of braces. But it wasn't there. And I looked all over the goddamn house. It's just, -poof-, gone. Straight-up fucking vanished.
...What the FUCK.
…
But it's just as well. I had an orthodontist appointment today anyhow. And I had concerns about how the last several sets were fitting. "Concerns" as in, “gee, it seems like this section of the set isn't quite fitting over these particular teeth properly”. So I told the guy what happened. And then he looked into my mouth at how the current set is fitting. And he was like, “Yup; looks like we'll need to make some adjustments anyway because this set isn't fitting right in places; that's totally normal. We'll take some new scans and order you some new sets. Use your current set as a retainer until the new set comes in.”
...So uh. Yeah. I got new x-rays of my teeth. Here's the old one:

...And here's the new one:

Here's also a couple of pictures of my skull!! Why? Because skulls are cool, obviously! That's just facts!

...Of course I ain't about to go get pictures taken of my skull and then not show ya! C'mon, now, whaddaya take me for??? Hahaha!
And here's the progress overall. This is where we started; remember how fucked-up it was inside of my face before?

And now, here's how it's going:

...As you can see, it is considerably less fucked up in there, by comparison!! And I'm not even done yet. It's only been a little over a year, and I've made this much progress already.
How rad is that!!!!
So, once the pictures were taken, they shoved some kind of weird laser wand thingy into my mouth to get a 3D scan of my teeth. They uploaded it into a computer, and that 3D model will be used to make new sets of aligners for me that will more accurately conform to where I'm at right now. Score!
So... until the new sets come in, I guess I'm only supposed to use my current set as a retainer. Basically, that means I only wear it at night when I sleep, because I guess otherwise, if I try to wear it all the time for 4 straight weeks, the plastic is gonna get yellow and gross. Apparently, that's a thing that happens no matter how often you brush it. Wild.
Also, I guess I'm supposed to take a break from using the rubber bands. And that also seems very weird!!
So like... right now, my teeth are “naked”, and I don't have any resistance to opening my jaw or moving it from side to side. And I gotta say, it feels REALLY WEIRD RIGHT NOW, oh my GOSH. Also... since I'm not needing to put the braces in until bedtime, I can just like... eat food. Anytime. And not have to worry about scrubbing out the inside of my face or changing out my rubber bands or...
😲
...Hot damn!!! I can snack at work now!!! I can just like... eat those chocolate chips Ka and Tr keep offering me at work (because they keep forgetting that I can't eat with the braces in)! They're gonna be psyched!!!
Anyway, I got hungry. And my body felt intensely like it needed vegetables. I found this interesting-looking Persian place, so I decided to give it a try! I'll show you what I got!!
This is a salad with a koobideh kabob! Koobideh is a kind of kofta, and a kofta is basically a meatball from the middle-eastern-ish region in my world! It's often a mix of ground lamb and beef, with lots of yummy spices! Then you mash the uncooked ground meat onto a skewer and cook it on a grill!

Then, I tried some “ash reshteh”; this is basically a Persian noodle soup, made with veggie broth, herbs, and various kinds of beans! I thought it was really nice! It has a very mild flavor!

Next, this is a kind of yogurt dip, seasoned with dried Persian shallots! It's kinda like tzatziki sauce, except a thinner yogurt is used, and instead of cucumbers, it's those dried Persian shallots!

The flavor was... kind of sulfuric, for sure. But that's natural, since there are alliums in it. I was just surprised with how long the pungency of it lingered. It wasn't unpleasant, though! I put some in my salad!

This one is called “mirza ghasemi”, and this is a dip made of roasted eggplant and tomatoes, and I think garlic, too! This, by far, was my favorite item! I put it in the nice bread that it came with!

And finally, this one is a sweet rice pudding, flavored with rose water, saffron, cinnamon, and cardamom!

I liked it a lot! And I think maybe you might like it, too? But I'm not sure; J tried it and said very confidently, after making a very impressive facial expression, that it tastes like the way a bathroom smells after it's been deep-cleaned. I thought his assertion was very bold. I guess if I try really hard, I can interpret the flavors that way. But I had to try really hard. I dunno.
J automatically hates most things the first time he tries them, especially if it wasn't his own idea to try it. I'm like that with some things – usually with things that don't taste like how I expect, given their smell. It takes my body a moment to re-interpret the juxtaposition as non-threatening. I think it's important to re-try new things after initially disliking them; at least in my case, my body tends to have a more positive reaction once it knows what to expect.
...I wonder if your body operates similarly. Do you need a moment to adjust to unfamiliar flavors? Do you enjoy most things, or are you sensitive to certain textures and flavors in ways that your body interprets as unpleasant? I wonder...
...I wish I could sit you down and have you try lots of different kinds of foods and find out. If you ever make your way to my house, mark my words, I'll make sure your belly is comfortably full of so many different kinds of wholesome and delicious yummies!!
...But... ya know... just on the off-chance that you can't (yeah, I know... bit of an understatement, right? haha...), here, have these wishes I breathed to life for you instead:

(or, y'know, “in addition”, rather than “instead”. just in case you're up for proving me delightfully wrong one of these days.)
I suppose that's it for today. I'm hoping to play some Valheim later, but we'll see; I might get absorbed in doing other things. If I do end up playing Valheim, you know where to find me:
twitch_live
I love you so much, and I hope you know it. And I hope you know that anyone else can love you, too, right here and right now, exactly as you are. All they have to do is open their eyes and look at you properly.
I'll write again soon. Promise me you'll stay safe.
Your friend, Lumine

Hello Everyone!
* . . *. . . *. . . *. * . * 🌙 . *. . * .
I decided to compile a list of some of my favorite manifestations that I’ve gotten since I was last regularly active on this account. Feel free to send asks if you’d like me to elaborate on any of them, as I won’t be doing too much of that here :)
* . . *. . . *. . . *. * . * 🌙 . *. . * .
I. PHYSICAL
Clear Skin
A no brainer, I feel, in the manifesting community. I was one of those kids growing up who got acne before anyone else, it was persistent all throughout my adolescence and into adulthood. One day I just got sick of all the burning, itching, dryness, oiliness, and overall feeling of how much I hated my own appearance. So, I gave up. I literally decided I did not care and if my skin was meant to clear up it simply would and I left it at that a few years ago.
Cue to now, I constantly get compliments on how smooth and radiant my skin is. People always comment on how it looks bouncy and natural dewy. Go figure
Tattoos
I’d always wanted tattoos but was scared to go alone and intimidated by the prices. I remember adding a few tattoos I was inspired by into my yearly manifesting Pinterest board (I can elaborate on this later if you would like) and sort of forgetting about it. Since then, I’ve had 3 opportunities with different friends and artists for cheap yet lovely flash tattoos. I’m currently working on a more detailed piece and simply waiting to manifest an artist closer to my house to do the job :)
Straight Teeth
A work in progress. I had a very unfortunate snaggle tooth and essentially zigzagging lower teeth as a child, went through the fun of traditional braces, and at the end of it my teeth never got 100% fully straight when they removed them. My retainer stopped fitting shortly after, and my teeth went back to a (thankfully not as bad but) similar state. I’d always been self conscious of my smile and it got to the point where I’d avoid opening my mouth at all for irrational fear of judgment. I was too old to be on my parents insurance and did not have the funds to pay treatment as an adult.
Lo and behold, through my job I was able to get name brand Invisalign for a fraction of the cash price and my smile (again, while still a work in progress) has never been better. Apart from the physical change through the aligners, Ive also manifested them to be whiter and healthier when they definitely weren’t before.
Tweaking Facial Features
I’m gonna just put them in one category, but I essentially tweaked my eyebrows, lashes, eyes, lips, and nose. Nothing super dramatic, sorry to disappoint, but I always thought they fit my face just not in the size they came in if that makes sense? I realized recently that my eyebrows are incredibly sleek and well maintained for someone who doesn’t take care of them more than plucking them every few weeks. My lashes (when curled) are way longer than they’ve ever been, my nose is the slightest bit smaller and therefore more complimentary to my face, and my lips are poutier and nicer than before (they’re always hydrated and plump). I also noticed my face chiseled out a bit, as someone who has always had a rounded baby face, but that could’ve also just been long overdue for my age haha
Nicer Hands & Less Body Hair
Little about me, I’m Hispanic. So, my genetics lovingly gave me an abundance of thick and dark body hair all across the way. I’m not here to tell you being hairless is better than not because it genuinely should be up to you personally, but for ME it is a sensory issue having body hair (I hate the way it feels rubbing against clothes or catching in things ugh). Tmi but even my hands were quite hairy, with my arm hair thinning yet continuing to about halfway up the back of my hand.
Soon enough, using the same “fine I give up” mentality, I noticed that (while still hairy lol) my hair doesn’t grow in as thick not as much as it used to. I literally looked at my legs the other day and realized it’s been probably over a month since I’ve shaved them but the hair grew in all sparse which is super unusual. Same with my hands, my fingers no longer look knobby and and scrawny like they used to, but they are quite elegant and I’ve actually received recent compliments on them which made me have that realization.
Ideal Hair
This one isn’t too dramatic as I’ve always been blessed with thick and healthy hair, but more so the fact that I dyed and cut it myself at home quite frequently and yet no matter what I do to it it remains as healthy and thick as ever. I alone made the attempt to go nearly platinum blonde at home, meaning I was using volume 30(?) developer by myself with zero experience on actually bleaching my hair (I dyed it often but always got the bleaching done at a salon). I think I did a total of 3 sessions within a two week time span where I left the bleach on about an hour per session and not only did it come out unscathed, people regularly ask me what salon I had it done at because they apparently can’t tell it was an at home job lol
II. Material
this one will be a fast round !
iPad Pro & newer iPhone with 513GB for a fraction of the retail price
Brand new gaming PC & ideal gaming setup
Brand new Docs
Ideal jewelry
Ideal closet staples & ideal shoes
A new car, partially gifted
Collection of amazing perfumes, all gifted
A diploma I definitely didn’t deserve because I should have failed it tbh lol
Fairy lights for my room, gifted
My perfect shades of makeup staples, all gifted 🫶🏼
Art supplies & kits, mostly gifted
A book I’d been dying to read, gifted
A random $2 pay raise I didn’t even ask for & that wasn’t due within that time frame (but am definitely not complaining about lol)
III. Miscellaneous
another fast round because I have to be somewhere and also my brain is blanking listing these out haha
The light is always green for me or about to turn green, this one never fails me and my friends/family all think I’m just really lucky 🍀
Even when I just rolled out of bed, I look amazing and even my panic lazy outfits look great
People are intimidated yet awed by me, I get a lot of people surprised when I’m nice to them and get told I always look busy and they don’t want to disturb my peace when in reality I just didn’t wanna talk to anyone haha. This one is important as someone who’s always had a “cutesy” demeanor who really dislikes social interactions
I always smell good, has saved me when I run out of the house and realize in a panic I didn’t use enough deodorant lmao. It sounds like a joke but I swear Ive even had people who I know to be brutally honest smell me and I’ve never been told I smell bad
Going to concerts, raves, and clubs (again, I was always socially awkward and didn’t have friends who were willing to do these things with me). On that note…
… a new friend group! I love my childhood friends but we are all a bunch of hermits and I really went through an era where I wanted to have fun and enjoy my 20’s, hence this new group of the loveliest and craziest people I absolutely love 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
Trips to NYC & San Diego. Before I discovered manifesting I rarely ever left my city, let alone the state. The trips were everything I could’ve hoped for and I’m currently manifesting about 3 more this year!
Passing grades in classes I definitely didn’t earn them in 😬
Money, specifically money Ive saved. I’m not sharing the quantity just for personal safety reasons, but I will say I probably have more money saved alone than all my friends do combined
* . . *. . . *. . . *. * . * 🌙 . *. . * .
So, there’s that! I’m actively manifesting many other things as well, specifically a new high paying job, my dream apartment in Seattle, and a significant other as I’m finally in a place where I feel ready for a relationship 🫶🏼 mark my words I’ll have a success post about these soon >:)
Let me know if you guys have any questions, and comment below your favorite manifestations so we can all inspire each other! -love, Blorbo

Spawnette had an Invisalign appointment today. She gets in chair. Doc says open. She does. Then he says “see you in 6 weeks”
It was like a 43 second appointment.
I find these progress appointments absurd.
I’m tempted to use putty or something, and build one crazy ass tooth cap
So when he looks in he yells “Holy Crap!”

For a long time I experienced day-killing, life-ruining sinus headaches. They would absolutely wreck me. They'd knock me out for days at a time. I'd wake up with pain over and behind my eyes. Sometimes it was bad enough that I would throw up. I would have to avoid screens, light, and heat. Others have described these episodes as migraines to me, but I really don't think they are, even now. I never had any of the other migraine symptoms, like auras.
It was relatively easy to blame certain traits--dust storms and high-pollen days being the most obvious. But as to fixing it? Jesus christ i didn't know. So I went on a long trek over a period of 4 years to figure out how to stop these motherfucking headaches.
Early on, I tried pain medication, which only dulled the pain a little; this was par for the course for me, since medication has a reduced effect on me in general. I progressed to sitting in hot showers with the lights turned off. I started using something I called "Magic Drink," a preworkout supplement full of caffeine and amino acids called "NO Xplode" (originally I mixed another amino acid mix in it, and even now I use lemon juice to give it a little substance). This would outright kill lighter episodes. Eventually I began using something called a "Sinuspik" to cleanse my sinuses--think Neti Pot, but with vibrations (god it feels good when your snoot is sad). These solutions were hit and miss, unfortunately. Some days were just so bad that it didn't matter if I used all of them at once.
So I went in for allergy shots. This actually worked, but it didn't solve everything. Mostly, they reduced length and severity of episodes. I still had bad days every two weeks or so.
Found out I had sleep apnea. Got a CPAP machine. Friendos, this was the first big solution: turns out I was snoring and fucking up my sinuses in the night. I was able to reduce episodes dramatically using this.
But STILL! The headaches continued.
The final piece of the puzzle: I have bad anxiety and grind my teeth day and night. Turns out that a combination of my unique bite and my anxiety caused the tension to travel up my teeth into my sinuses. I invested in Invisalign, something I had always rolled my eyes at (lol who gives a fuck about straight teeth amirite). I had to pay for it with my credit card and I'm fucking glad I did: like magic, the episodes completely disappeared. My life may be shitty as fuck but I'm not nauseous and dying of boredom in a dark, quiet room because of it. A combination of corrected bite and effective retainers was all I needed.
The last couple of days I have fallen asleep without my usual protections--the Invisalign retainers and the CPAP--and this forgetfulness has reminded me of my hubris. The solution to my problem was no magic pill: it was multiple solutions. The Invisalign in particular was not something I expected or looked for, and I thought I'd mention it in a public place in case it's a solution you haven't considered.
I never see anyone talking about this, so I wanted to suggest something in case it helps you as much as it helps me.

I’ve been slacking ~shocker~ I know. It’s hard I can’t lie. The summer is all about iced coffee and ice cream, sweet little treats, patio season. It’s hard to resist. I’m trying not to break my own balls and remind myself that life is about “balance” but fuck it’s hard. I remind myself that I didn’t spend thousands of dollars to fuck up my progress by stuffing my face. The problem is where I live has been a catastrophic heat wave. It’s so hot that just by being outside for 5 minutes will leave you drenched. I have to think about a lot. Not just my body but my skin. It’s easier to just be a fat couch potato than go outside.
But that all changes this new week.
It’s a big week for me. On Tuesday I get IPR done to my teeth. I’ve been waiting 16 years for this. IPR is where they shave your teeth on the sides. Can’t wait to actually have straight teeth. My teeth are the one feature that I constantly get complimented on. Invisalign is taking it to another level. I also want to start a meal plan that I used back in 2019. I used to go to the gym 6x a week and eat 100% clean with this meal plan. I was absolutely tiny. It’s wild for me because I remember at the time I still thought I was fat lol my problem is having sweets in the house. If it’s outside the house I’m good. But once I have cookies or ice cream in the house I will devour it. The reason I’m restarting this meal plan is because portion sizing is killing me. I’m going to have to start measuring my meals again. I’m doing this because I’m going on vacation in September and I want to not only be in the best shape of life but I want to eat everythingggggg. This is a country where culinary arts are top tier.
I wear the faja overnight. I took a two week break from wearing it about 2.5 months post op. I know I should wear it more just for the curbing of the appetite aspect but with this heat it just makes it hard to breath. Pro tip: don’t get your surgery in the summer lol
This is my last week of “club Pilates” and my personal trainer on vacation. I’m ready to join a real Pilates studio or better yet start doing privates. I still get lymphatic drainage massages once I week. I really like the girl who does them so I’ll just continue for her.
As you get older life and experience start weighing on you. That’s why you gain weight, develop wrinkles, etc. the youth really is wasted on the young. I was at the mall and all the girl are wearing tiny white crop tops with either denim shorts or tennis skirts. They are tiny. Size zero, perfect ratios with no surgery. All because they are young. Then you see their moms and foresee what they will look like in the future. Not good. While genetics plays a huge role, taking care of yourself if a lifelong endeavor.

Invisalign in Spring Branch: A Modern Orthodontic Solution Without the Hassle
Orthodontic treatment has come a long way from the days of bulky brackets and awkward wires. Today, clear aligners like Invisalign are redefining the way both teens and adults approach teeth straightening. For Houston residents in West Houston, choosing Invisalign Spring Branch is becoming a preferred route—not only for aesthetic reasons but also for lifestyle alignment, personalized care, and professional convenience.
As local providers invest in cutting-edge technology and tailored treatment planning, you now have access to discreet, results-driven orthodontics without venturing too far from home.

What Makes Invisalign Different—and Effective
Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign uses a series of custom-molded, clear plastic trays to gently shift teeth into alignment. Each set is worn for 1–2 weeks, gradually moving your teeth without the visual or functional distractions of metal hardware.
The appeal isn’t just cosmetic. Invisalign Spring Branch patients often report:
Shorter chair times for adjustments
Easier brushing and flossing compared to traditional braces
Fewer dietary restrictions
Greater confidence in social or professional settings
When combined with advanced 3D imaging and precision mapping, Invisalign creates a treatment plan that’s not only comfortable but also highly predictable—right down to your projected end date.
Why Spring Branch Is an Ideal Location for Invisalign Treatment
There’s no shortage of orthodontic providers in Houston. So, why are more people specifically searching for Invisalign Spring Branch providers?
It comes down to three factors: accessibility, personalized care, and flexibility.
1. Convenience Without Compromise Many Spring Branch practices offer morning, evening, or even weekend appointments. For working professionals, students, or parents with tight schedules, that flexibility makes a significant difference. You don’t need to take time off work or commute across the city just to keep up with your aligner plan.
2. Local Experts with Modern Tools Clinics in Spring Branch now utilize intraoral scanners, digital treatment planning, and clear communication tools to streamline your Invisalign experience. Most practices have invested in these technologies to match or exceed the services you might find in more central neighborhoods like the Heights.
3. Real Relationships, Not Just a Product The best Invisalign outcomes don’t come from a one-size-fits-all package. They come from providers who understand your lifestyle, monitor your progress closely, and adjust your plan when needed. A Spring Branch Invisalign provider is often more accessible than a large multi-location practice, giving you more hands-on oversight throughout your journey.
Who Should Consider Invisalign in Spring Branch?
Invisalign is not just a cosmetic option. It’s a highly adaptable treatment that can address a variety of alignment issues—often in less time than traditional braces. If you fall into any of the following categories, exploring a Spring Branch Invisalign provider might be the right move:
Adults who want discreet orthodontic correction without disrupting their professional image
Teens who prefer a lower-maintenance alternative to braces
Busy professionals who need flexible appointment windows
Patients with past orthodontic relapse looking for subtle refinements
Individuals who travel and want remote monitoring or fewer in-office adjustments
Invisalign works best when paired with attentive monitoring and tailored planning—both of which are strengths among Spring Branch providers.
The Treatment Process: What to Expect
Here’s a general outline of what happens when you start Invisalign in Spring Branch:
Initial Consultation A provider will evaluate your bite, scan your teeth, and determine if you’re a good candidate.
Digital Mapping & Custom Plan Using 3D technology, your dentist or orthodontist will map out your progress from Day 1 to completion.
Receiving Your Aligners You'll be given several sets of aligners at a time, each to be worn for a specific period (usually 10–14 days).
Routine Check-ins Appointments every 6–8 weeks ensure your teeth are moving as planned and adjustments are made when needed.
Retention Phase After completion, you’ll transition into retainers to hold your new alignment long-term.
Final Thoughts
A straight, confident smile can impact everything from your self-esteem to your oral health. And with today’s Invisalign technology, achieving that smile is more comfortable and convenient than ever.
Choosing Invisalign Spring Branch means getting expert care without the disruption of long commutes or impersonal service. While Invisalign in the Heights remains a strong choice for many, the accessibility, personalized attention, and flexibility offered in Spring Branch is earning the trust of more patients every year.
Whether you're just beginning your Invisalign research or ready to book a consultation, start by exploring the experienced providers right in your neighborhood—you might be surprised by just how advanced and patient-focused your local care can be.

Metal Braces: The Classic Smile Fixer Everyone Should Know About

When most people think of orthodontics, one image often pops into their minds—metal braces. These shiny, silver dental tools have been around for decades and are still the go-to solution for straightening teeth, correcting bites, and creating confident smiles.
In this blog post, we’ll dive deep into the world of metal braces. Whether you're considering getting them or just curious, you'll learn what they are, how they work, the pros and cons, what to expect during the treatment process, and how they’ve changed lives.
What Are Metal Braces? A Quick Breakdown
Metal braces are orthodontic devices used to straighten misaligned teeth and fix bite issues like overbites, underbites, and overcrowding. They consist of metal brackets bonded to the front of each tooth and connected by a wire. Over time, this wire is adjusted to gently move the teeth into the correct position.
Unlike newer options like clear aligners or ceramic braces, metal braces are typically more noticeable—but also more effective for complex dental issues.
Why Metal Braces Are Still Popular in 2025
Even with the rise of Invisalign and other clear aligners, metal braces haven’t gone out of style—and for good reason:
Durability: Made from stainless steel, they can withstand a lot of pressure.
Effectiveness: Ideal for complex orthodontic cases.
Affordability: Generally more cost-effective than other types of braces.
Faster Results: In many cases, they correct alignment issues more quickly.
If you’re looking for a reliable and time-tested solution, metal braces still lead the pack.
Types of Dental Problems Metal Braces Can Fix
Let’s look at the most common dental issues metal braces can solve:
1. Crowded Teeth
Teeth overlap due to lack of space. Braces create room by gradually shifting the teeth apart.
2. Overbite or Underbite
Braces realign the upper and lower jaw for a balanced bite.
3. Open Bite
When teeth don’t touch when the mouth is closed. Braces bring them together.
4. Spacing Issues
Metal braces can close gaps between teeth for a more even smile.
5. Crossbite
When some upper teeth sit inside the lower teeth. Braces correct the alignment for a healthier bite.
Challenges of Wearing Metal Braces
Like anything in life, metal braces come with a few hurdles. Here are some common challenges and how to overcome them:
1. Discomfort
Initially, your mouth may feel sore as your teeth adjust. This usually fades after a few days.
Pro Tip: Use orthodontic wax and over-the-counter pain relief to manage discomfort.
2. Oral Hygiene is Tougher
Food can easily get stuck in the brackets and wires.
Solution: Use interdental brushes, floss threaders, and water flossers to clean around your braces.
3. Dietary Restrictions
Hard, sticky, or chewy foods are off-limits.
Suggested Foods: Soft foods like yogurt, pasta, rice, bananas, and mashed potatoes.
4. Appearance
Metal braces are more noticeable than clear aligners.
Mindset Shift: Embrace them as a part of your journey to a beautiful smile.
5. Adjustments Can Be Uncomfortable
You’ll need to visit your orthodontist every 4–8 weeks for wire tightening.
Reminder: This is a sign your braces are working. Adjustments mean progress!
Step-by-Step Guide: Getting Metal Braces
If you’re wondering what the full process looks like, here’s a simple step-by-step breakdown:
Step 1: Initial Consultation
You’ll meet with an orthodontist who will assess your teeth, bite, and jaw using X-rays and digital scans.
Goal: Create a custom treatment plan.
Step 2: Teeth Cleaning and Preparation
Before applying braces, the orthodontist ensures your teeth are clean and cavity-free.
Step 3: Bonding Brackets
Small metal brackets are glued to the center of each tooth. This is painless and takes about 1–2 hours.
Step 4: Connecting with Archwire
A thin wire is threaded through the brackets and held in place with elastic bands (ligatures).
Step 5: Monthly Adjustments
Every few weeks, the orthodontist will tighten the wire to continue shifting your teeth.
These visits usually take 15–30 minutes.
Step 6: Braces Off!
After 18–36 months (depending on the case), the brackets and wires are removed.
Step 7: Retainers
A retainer is given to maintain your new smile. You’ll wear it full-time at first, then gradually reduce wear.

Dear Sephiroth: (a letter to a fictional character, because why not) #523 (Part 2)
Right! So, we went to Eggcellent! For a change of pace, I got a passionfruit jasmine tea. And J got a taro milk latte, with extra taro, and a strawberry croffle:

...And then we went home. I thought the sky, after it had cleared up a little, looked a lot like you today, so I snapped a few pictures:

J had his job shortly after that, so I mostly just sat on my computer and wrote. I put something I had chronicled a while ago into a different (and perhaps better?) format.
...No, I'm not going to put it here. It describes a thing that happened to me, and it's close to my heart, and... I don't really want people to read it and make fun of it. Maybe ask me about it later; I'd let you, specifically, see it. But I don't wanna just stick it willy-nilly on the internet where it'll surely be misunderstood.
I will put the wishes I breathed to life for you today in here, though! Check 'em out!

...You know. I think that the one made of rainbow-colored paper turned out to look especially like you. Since it has that rainbow-colored wing only on its right side.
...If the version of you with a wing is actually you (which... I'm not entirely sure it is, since like... supposedly you don't degrade...), then you'll never convince me that your wing is black. No, I think... I think we're just not able to see it properly with our eyes that can't catch UV light. Like crow's wings or grackle's wings... I imagine the true color of them is rainbow iridescence.
Anyway, J and I were able to play Valheim together after his shift ended. It was the first time in a while that we had done that in a way that resulted in any kind of progress; last time, we were trying to find Swamp biomes, and the game seemed to be taunting us by giving us these teeny-tiny little slivers of Swamp with absolutely fucking nothing in them.
But today!! As we explored in my GIANT FUCKING BOAT (hell yeah!!), we came across an island that was made ENTIRELY out of swamp! Check out the map in the upper right corner!
We came away from it with SO MUCH MORE IRON than I would have been able to gather on my own! Which J promptly used in order to upgrade from bronze weapons to copper!
...We'll need to get more; we still need to upgrade our iron gear, and the only way to do that is to get more iron. We still have a ways to go before we'll be ready to face Bonemass. And anyways, we still need to find a crypt with a rune that will tell us where Bonemass even is. But we're not done clearing out this crypt yet, and we still have quite a bit of swamp to explore on this island; I'm feeling pretty hopeful.
For now, though... I gotta go to bed. My brain is pretty soupy, actually, and it's late and I still gotta wash my CPAP and brush my teeth and stick 'em back in their cages (an Invisalign reference, hahaha...).
I love you so much and I hope you feel it in your bones. And... even if my world doesn't feel like home to you yet, I hope at very least that these letters feel like home to you; it's kinda why I write them.
Please stay safe. I'll write again tomorrow.
Your friend, Lumine
