pouet! i come back ... for more on joseph ... hehe ... it's not really said in the comic thus far but i imagine him and five are besties since forever? can you expend on that, like, how/when did they first meet, was it in any way notable? is there an important memory they share or some (child) drama that made them the besties they are now? (or. were. before five got punched of course) or maybe just some thoughts youve had about them as a team & that you just want to & can share :]
oooh yes we are enjoying the joseph questions dearly... and YES they are so bffsies. platonic soulmates in our head. we've been thinking recently, that we think the way they would have become friends was because they're both "duds" (no observable ability to do magic). so we imagine they'd both bond over that as younger primary schoolers and then start sucking on each other's dusty scalps from then on.
tbh we don't think they'd have much room to have any significant memories which makes sense because they sorta have a very idealist conflict free upbringing for the most part, hence adversity is minimal. in terms of them being duds it's less like something they're troubled by and more like something they just have in common.
but when we think about the future (asking the question.. what if five didn't die?) the squabbles are definitely more likely... we feel like they'd both be very prone to jealousy in their own ways. but as a result they'd probably just end up closer because that frustration would mostly be an opportunity to be more transparent with what they want out of each other irregardless of if they can communicate that well.
misc thoughts... joseph would definitely mature faster in the brain. but we feel like in terms of the Central Incident it would be five who would naturally grow to understand the series of events in a more objective manner while joseph would definitely be hung up in the irrational details. for a lot of reasons but two especially... 1) five is essentially forced to move on and confront a totally new environment so it's a lot harder to be hung up on brief injustice, while joseph is forced to remain in the old situation just with his primary support ripped away from him, and 2) five already has to deal with more conflict (probably more beef atp with rosey boy than the guy who killed him) and will only have to confront more conflict from more people, but joseph's only direct target of resentment is the person who killed five. so it's very centralized. which is why we think the two no longer being in contact with one another afterwards is the only way their friendship can actually be preserved, ironically... their conflict in opinion would be incredibly damaging to each other.
"10 year chart reversal after disbandment" Fans are in tears about the regretful state of NU'EST
[source]
"Face" by Pledis Entertainment's five-member boy group NU'EST was met with an amazing chart reversal.
It's such a shame that their song took off after their disbandment.
I'm gonna cry, really.
Why didn't I like you then, guys?
Can't you get back together?
Please reunite to promote Face again!
"Face," which was released as a debut song on March 15, 2012, is going through a speedy chart reversal after ten years because of SNS. Though fans are welcoming the chart reversal with joy, the group's disbandment has also made it a rather regretful situation.
The group that debuted with "Face" was the five-member boy group NU'EST. NU'EST debuted on March 15, 2012 with the single album "Face" but it did not garner as big of a reaction as other rookie groups at the time.
At the time of their first debut, they promoted as five members composed of JR, Aron, Baekho, Minhyun, and Ren, though after about a year, Chinese member Jason was added to the group and they promoted as six members under NU'EST-M.
Currently, many people are keeping NU'EST's "Face" alive through Tiktok and Instagram as though it was a dance challenge. Since the song became famous after 10 years, more people started looking for its original singers. Naturally, NU'EST was mentioned and many people came to learn about the current state of the group.
Although most people accepted that NU'EST was a disbanded group and simply uploaded videos, NU'EST's fans would explain in greater detail and the truth of their chart reversal became known. It was through this that many people felt their regrets.
A popular celebrity from NU'EST
On February 24, 2017, NU'EST announced their suspension of activities as four members would appear on Produce 101 Season 2. The members who decided to participate in Produce 101 Season 2 were JR, Baekho, Minhyun, and Ren.
This was where Minhyun was selected to be in the final lineup of Wanna One, and NU'EST had the chance to be known once more. Without Minhyun, the remaining members resumed activities as NU'EST W.
Called "monster rookies," Wanna One was an eleven-member boy group (including Hwang Minhyun) that received enormous attention from the public. They were also the first singers who debuted in Gocheok Skydome.
Groups who were chosen through Mnet survival programs showed a trend of possessing an explosive popularity and fandom. IOI, who debuted through Produce 101, were in a similar situation.
Earning amazing ranks from debut, they became the representative leader of third generation of k-pop boy groups. The group was composed of members Yoon Jisung, Ha Sungwoon, Hwang Minhyun, Ong Seungwoo, Kim Jaehwan, Kang Daniel, Park Jihoon, Park Woojin, Bae Jinyoung, Lee Daehwi, and Lai Guanlin.
NU'EST members lately
NU'EST has actually suspended activities. Their company, Pledis Entertainment, revealed that their exclusive contracts had expired last March 14, 2022. They finished the last of their official activities with the release of their best album "Needle and Bubble."
NU'EST JR (Kim Jonghyeon) has moved companies to Evermore and debuted as an actor and solo. He is promoting the release of his first mini album and solo debut, "MERIDIEM."
NU'EST Aron (Kwak Youngmin) is currently working independently without a company. A native of LA, he left his company and decided to go solo. Having had several years of experience as a radio DJ, he has expressed that he has started preparing for his first solo activities on his podcast.
NU'EST Baekho (Kang Dongho) has re-signed with his current company Pledis Entertainment. The name "Baekho" was given to him by After School's Uee. Baekho is continuing his solo activities after the release of his first mini album, "Absolute Zero."
NU'EST Minhyun (Hwang Minhyun) is actively promoting after re-signing with his current company Pledis Entertainment. He officially began his solo activities with the drama "Alchemy of Souls" and his first solo fan meeting.
NU'EST Ren (Choi Mingi) left his company and decided to move to Big Planet Made. He plans to continue actively promoting as a solo artist and actor.

Another list of groups/soloists who need a comeback immediately (as of Feb 2024):
Alice/Elris - Not only have we not had a comeback since APRIL of 2023, but Do-A and Yeonje are still on hiatus with basically no updates????? Ngl, I'm getting a teeny tiny bit worried about them
AOA - .....wishful thinking. never gonna happen. just leave me to cry
Apink - Not too worried about this tbh, even their last comeback was April of 2023, it's natural for a group that's lasted so long to focus more on individual releases and solo work. I don't think they're going anywhere anytime soon, and I'm happy with a yearly album. Still, I do think it's time for the comeback lol
Apink CHOBOM - Again, wishful thinking. One of the best sub-units of all times, I NEED another Copycat
ARTMS - They are preparing for their debut, but I just need it to happen quicker
Billlie - Hear me out, this one is specific - OT7 comeback or nothing. Sua and Suhyeon come back, the kids miss you....
Blackswan - Karma and Cat & Mouse were 10/10, DR is literal dogshit but cmon, Blackswan go viral on twitter every five minutes
BB Girls/Brave Girls - I feel like they re-debuted/re-launched and disappeared???
bugAboo - never taking them off this list, idc if they're all doing separate things and have re-debuted, i am putting my hands over my ears and closing my eyes so that i can live in delusional peace
Cherry Bullet - Going off their once a year comeback strategy, this should actually be happening sometime soon. Cherry Dash was March 2023, so who knows?
Choi Yoojung - if Weki Meki aren't allowed to have a comeback, give Yoojung something, I'm begging
Chung Ha - this is long overdue, I need her to release bare & rare pt. 2 immediately
CLASS:y - I know they released a barely-promoted winter single a while back, but their last proper comeback was October 2022. That's so fucking long ago.
CLC - CLC reunion??? who said that??? pls i'm begging
CSR - Not too optimistic, most of the members have been shipped off to a survival show. Sucks cause CSR had a really strong start, but their promotion went really quickly downhill after Shining Bright
DreamNote - I'm just tired..... please.... I'll take a digital single atp
EL7Z-UP - Hasn't been that long since they debuted, but I still would love a comeback lol
Everglow - my ult of all ults do something. Me and every other forever on twitter are rocking in the corner and predicting april for the next comeback
Fifty Fifty (the ACTUAL group, not the brand) - 3jeong return pls. not to attrakt, just to releasing music. keena pls leave that company, i'm literally begging.
Fromis_9 - Unlock My World was June, Hybe it's been a while. We all know you hate Fromis, but do your job. Give the people what they want
Geenius - They debuted last month lol, but I just can't wait for their first comeback. I loved Voyage so much, so I'm definitely tuning in for any comebacks whenever they may happen

Introducing the Institute of Ideas! Starring Subshifter, Bang Girl, and Psycoral!
These queer 20 somethings all gained superpowers upon the discovery of their queer identities! Subshifter can take on the properties of anything he touches, provided it's soft enough that he can still move his body. Bang Girl can produce concentrated blasts of air, sending her flying and blasting all over the place. Psycoral is a psychic who can access the submerged subconscious, a nautical take on the astral plane. They have all been best friends since grade school.
The IOI is the third iteration of an institution that's been around since 1957. Starting with the Ideanauts, a group of five friends joined together after surviving a plane crash, dedicating themselves to exploration... just for the thrill of it! The team didn't last very long however.
In 1961, the Ideanauts sold their assets to a wealthy doctor, who alongside his best friend, his wife and her brother, overhauled the Ideanauts into the Ideas Institute, who expanded the scope of the original team from exploration to discovery, using their findings for the advancement of science and the betterment of mankind.
In the present day, the Ideas Institute's age is catching up with them, deciding that it's time to retire. However, if the institute is to go to the next generation, it should go to the team with the biggest heart rather than the biggest wallet.
Hence, auditions were held to select who would be the inheritor to the most scientifically advanced institute on the planet. In the end, it was Subshifter, Bang Girl, and Psycoral who demonstrated the best chemistry, the best morale, and of course... the best ideas.
Samantha was enjoying helping run the OASIS after winning with the High Five and saving it from IOI. Now though after a year the nineteen year old had noticed glitches happening in OASIS and she wasn't the only one, the entire player base was noticing them. As of right now they weren't bad just characters from games where they shouldn't be, samurai in the space, SPARTANs in the wild west and the like. Butthe others weren't necessarily concerned with them just yet but Sam was thinking that if it was like this now things could get worse, so she went searching for someone to try and help and she found someone who didn't regularly get onto the OASIS but after some digging she was able to find an address in the real world.
With a sigh she stepped up to the door and knocked. She never liked in-person meetings, despite everything she was still self conscious about her birthmark over her eye but she figured this was the best way. "Hey you may not know me, I'm Samantha Cook, you might know me better as Art3mis, I'm one of the admins of OASIS and Gregarious Simulation Systems. We have a problem and I need help, I heard you might be the one to help out." She spoke through the door as she heard someone coming up to it.
After four days of testing Freelancer, here is my review of the test. Spoilers ahead!
First of all, I'll start with the things I really liked
The Safehouse
For me, the highlight of Freelancer! I love the house and the surroundings. It's interesting to see how 47 spends his free time. He can meditate by the lake or chop wood. But he also has a room where he can mix cocktails or play bongos, for example. Now we know where he gets the skills he uses in his missions!
The references to the old games run through the whole mode and are also visible at the safehouse. There is an old, abandoned church in the forest. A small reference to Silent Assassin, as once again 47's safehouse is located near a church, albeit a destroyed one.
I also like that 47 lives in the house alone (sorry). Diana is present again and the two work together, but just like in the old games. It was already foresighted in Hitman 3 and Freelancer takes it further: IOI seems to go back to the roots, with 47 as the main character and Diana as the voice in his ear.
And I like the loneliness that reigns in the house and the little details. The single plate standing in the sink, for example, and the idea of 47 cooking something delicious for himself and then sitting at his dining table with a candlelit view of the lake. How he tinkers with his motorbike or his cars, makes small repairs to the house and the shed. Just as he tended the garden in Silent Assassin.
This hermit-like atmosphere is joined by an excellent soundtrack. Especially when you are in the woods and garden, you are rewarded with what I think is the best music the trilogy has delivered so far.
While the upstairs area is cosy, the basement contains a veritable high-tech arsenal. This is where 47 keeps his weapons and items, plans his missions and regenerates when he's injured.
The changes you can make in the house were unfortunately still a bit buggy in the test (I'll get to that). Still, it's fun to redecorate the house and every time I unlocked something new, I wanted to look at it immediately. The motivation to reach the new levels and unlocks for the safehouse is very great and one of the biggest motivations for me to play Freelancer.
The cutscenes
What a small but fine innovation! Between the missions there are small cutscenes that show 47 driving to his missions, taking shelter wounded or waiting at the airport. The cutscenes make me nostalgic, they remind me a lot of the older games. They are such a nice gap filler between the missions that I can't leave them unmentioned here!
The campaigns
In Freelancer you start a so-called campaign. Each campaign consists of eliminating members of a syndicate. You first do a certain number of easy missions before the campaign ends in a showdown. In total, there are four campaigns to complete, with the level of difficulty increasing each time. While in the first campaign you have two normal missions and a showdown, in the fourth campaign you have five normal missions plus a showdown. So to defeat the whole syndicate you have to finish all four campaigns.
But that's not so easy. At the beginning you have no equipment and no money. You can, however, get both little by little, for example by collecting weapons in the locations and taking them to the safehouse at the end of a mission or by opening one of the many crates that are scattered all over the maps. Sometimes they contain items that you can take with you or even money. You will also receive items in your safehouse when you return after a successful mission. But be warned: if you lose a normal mission, for example because you are wounded or have to flee, you will lose all the items you took with you and you will not be able to start the mission again. If, on the other hand, you lose a showdown, you lose not only the items you had with you, but all the weapons and items you had already unlocked during the previous missions, and you start the campaign again from zero.
In the worst case, you end up with nothing. And half naked.
So planning is the be-all and end-all, which makes Freelancer so interesting, but also challenging. The level of difficulty varies between Professional and Master. However, the goal here is not Silent Assassin and/or Suit Only, as in the regular game. Instead, you are explicitly asked to go beyond your comfort zone and make a real racket, which I like very much. There is the possibility to fulfil additional objectives. At the beginning you can't do most of them, but later on you can and then, depending on the campaign, you'll be asked to kill guards with a machine gun for example. I don't know about you, but machine guns are not really my first choice of weapon in Hitman :D Depending on what equipment you have, it's also impossible to lure a target out of the crowd. All that's left is to shoot and run.
Once you've made it to a showdown, you first have to identify your target. This is where the camera familiar from Hitman 3 comes into play. I think it's a great addition to use it a bit more than just to open doors. In a showdown there are several targets on the map. You get clues from Diana about the target, you take a picture and observe if the clues are accurate. This can include anything from hair colour to behaviour. Once you are sure that you have found the target, all you have to do is eliminate it and return to the safehouse and the campaign is over.
What I didn't like so much about Freelancer
The time aspect
What I am about to elaborate on is not so much a criticism as a personal opinion. Freelancer is a time-consuming game mode. It is definitely not meant to be played in between times when you have an hour to spare and are a bit bored. On the one hand, this makes Freelancer interesting and challenging, but it is not suitable for everyone. Especially if, for example, you have a family, have to take care of people in need of care, have a time-consuming job or generally have a busy everyday life. Basically, I understand IOI's intention to design Freelancer this way, but especially for such people there should perhaps be one or another saving point.
It also takes a long time to collect the necessary XP to advance in the mastery level. You get more XP if you fulfil the objectives, but that doesn't always work because you don't have the necessary equipment every time, especially at the beginning of the game. This is annoying, especially since you only get money when you complete these objectives and not for completing the missions. Therefore, on the one hand it is a bit exhausting because it takes so long to unlock rewards for the safehouse, but on the other hand it awakens an extremely high motivation in you that almost hurts :D
The unlocks
When I lost my first showdown in the third campaign and woke up injured in the safehouse to find I'd lost all the stuff I'd previously collected and bought, I was incredibly frustrated. And in an annoying way, not in a motivated way to try again.
I think the idea of losing the things I carry is very good and interesting and it gives it a certain realism. But the fact that I also lose the weapons that were actually locked in my high-tech bunker doesn't make much sense and it's doubly annoying when you've put money into it before and now you've lost not only this money but also the items that go with it. This is one of the aspects that I disliked the most and my biggest point of criticism.
The level of difficulty
As already mentioned, the difficulty level varies between Professional and Master. With each mission and each campaign, the difficulty level also increases. In principle, I think this is a good idea, but I have had situations that were downright unfair.
Enforcers are sometimes so alert that it's impossible to avoid their gaze, or there are so many of them that it's almost impossible to even get close to a target. Also, there were a few bugs, in Whittelton Creek for example there was a floor that an enforcer could see through and so saw me grab someone on the floor above him. I just hope there will be some tweaking here. Nothing against a challenge, but it should still be fair somehow!
Bugs
Well, it was just a test and there were still many bugs. For example, 47 forgets how to use binoculars or pictures that I put on the wall suddenly disappear again. The game also stopped relatively often, objects floated, 47 suddenly drove to a mission on a quad bike, even though I hadn't unlocked it yet. But I think these are all small things that will be fixed in the final product.
Conclusion
The beautiful safehouse alone is worth playing Freelancer! I can't wait to walk around there with Grey 47 and relax a bit before heading into the challenging missions. It's a time-consuming game and I'm sure I'll spend hours, days, weeks, months on it.
You can tell that with Freelancer, IOI wants to test what can be possible in future games. And you can tell that they put a lot of effort into the game mode. You have to remember that we get the whole thing for free! And for a free product, it's really high class, you can't say otherwise.
Of course, I hope there will be a Year 3, maybe with a new level and a return of Diana, Grey and Olivia, like we had in Ambrose Island. But with Freelancer, IOI is going back to the roots for now and delivering a lot of nostalgia, but also a lot of new things, and I'm looking forward to playing the complete mode in January!

Shadi Rostami, SVP of Engineering at Amplitude – Interview Series
Shadi is SVP of Engineering at digital analytics leader Amplitude. She is a passionate, seasoned technology leader and architect experienced in building and managing highly proficient engineering teams. Prior to Amplitude, she was VP of Engineering at Palo Alto Networks. She has innovated and delivered several product lines and services specializing in distributed systems, cloud computing, big data, machine learning and security.
Amplitude is built on modern machine learning and generative AI technologies that enable product teams to build smarter, learn faster, and create the best digital experiences for their customers.
What initially attracted you to computer science and engineering?
I grew up in Iran and originally pursued a high school path that would enable a career in medicine, which was the path my father wanted me to take and the one my brother did. About a year and a half in, I decided it was not the path for me. Instead, I pursued engineering and ended up becoming the first girl in Iran to go to the Informatic Olympiad (IOI) and won the Bronze medal, a yearly competition for high school students around the world competing in math, physics, Informatics, and chemistry. That led me to pursue engineering at Sharif University of Technology in Iran and later get my Ph.D. in computer engineering at the University of British Columbia in Canada. After that, I worked for startups for a few years and then spent a decade at Palo Alto Networks, eventually becoming a VP responsible for development, QA, DevOps, and data science. Five years ago, I moved to Amplitude as the SVP of Engineering.
Could you discuss Amplitude’s core AI philosophy that AI should aid humans in improving their work rather than replacing them?
AI is quickly transforming almost every industry, and with the transformation comes questions about how companies will use the technology. We feel strongly about getting AI right. This belief led us to develop our customer-centric AI philosophy, which stands upon five main principles: (1) collaborative development and thought partnership, (2) data governance and user data protection, (3) transparency, (4) privacy, security, and regulatory compliance, and (5) customer choice and control. We know these principles are key as companies continue to adopt and test AI and eventually become truly data-driven. For our purposes, this means building AI tools that help people get to insights faster. When harnessed properly, these insights lead to faster, better decisions that drive bottom-line results. Using AI as a tool to complement human intelligence and creativity is where I see AI having its greatest impact.
Can you explain the concept of ‘data democracy’ in the context of today’s AI-driven business environment?
“Data democracy is driven by the knowledge that teams function better, faster, and more efficiently when they can access the right data insights at the right time. In today’s rapidly advancing AI-driven environment, teams can’t afford to wait days or weeks for data pulls. To mitigate this, companies must empower their teams to leverage data in a self-service way. Now, this doesn’t mean data chaos with no parameters. At the end of the day, bad data leads to bad AI. But with the right tools and processes in place, businesses can balance data democratization with data governance, enabling better business outcomes.”
What key shifts in organizational culture do you believe are essential for enabling true data democracy in the age of AI?
Establishing a true data democracy within your organization starts with two foundational culture shifts: providing the right, most accessible tools and conducting organization-wide efforts around data literacy. This means adopting self-service tools that allow non-technical team members, such as marketing or customer success teams, to not only access data but also analyze and take action on it. I believe self-service data analytics can and should fuel collaboration across teams, inspire curiosity and exploration, scale data literacy, and place a bias on action and impact. Also, it is important to spend joint efforts between the central data team and line of business teams to do continuous data governance to make sure data quality does not degrade over time.
In your experience, what are the most significant challenges organizations face in achieving data democratization, and how can they overcome these obstacles?
In the past, companies have tried to centralize data within one team of experts, leaving the rest of the organization reliant on this team to deliver analysis and key insights that may be critical to their day-to-day operations and decision-making. While democratizing data access is critical to solving this bottleneck, it can also be challenging. When I speak to data leaders about operationalizing self-service, it’s clear there is a spectrum. On one end, you have low setup tools for non-technical and line-of-business teams. Ultimately, these tools do not give the depth and breadth of answers that these teams need. On the other end, you have more technical tools for more technical teams. They are much more flexible in terms of analysis, but they are slow, and likely very few people can even use them. We refer to these tools as creating a “data breadline” … you’re always waiting for answers. Teams need a solution in the middle. Think out-of-the-box solutions that encourage, not inhibit, exploration and experimentation. With the proper tooling and team education, companies can more easily bridge the data democratization gap.
How crucial is data literacy in the process of data democratization, and what steps should companies take to improve it among their employees?
Fostering an environment of data democratization across your teams is a cultural challenge that requires education and company-wide buy-in. In my experiences with teaching data processes to non-technical members, the best way to develop these skills is through a combination of training and hands-on learning. I recommend developing a comprehensive training program to ensure employees feel comfortable and confident in the insights they’re pulling from their data. Make sure you are using a tool that does not prohibit non-technical users: for example, any tool that requires knowledge of SQL would marginalize folks without programming expertise. From there, provide opportunities for employees to dive in and start playing around with the data. Finally, implement a tool that fosters exploration and collaboration. The less people are working in silos, the more they can bounce ideas off of each other, leading to more illuminating insights. If you are a data professional teaching a non-technical team member, remember that you have spent years learning how to obtain and use data, so you think about it differently from the casual user. Be open to teaching others rather than doing everything yourself. Otherwise, you’ll never have any free time to do anything aside from answering people’s questions.
With the rapid evolution of data tools and generative AI technologies, how should companies adapt their strategies to stay ahead in data management and utilization?
Data governance is one of the main challenges companies still face, and it’s something every organization must nail down to empower meaningful AI and data experiences. AI is only as good as the data that powers it, and clean data leads to more impactful insights, happier users, and business growth. In this way, companies must be proactive about data cleanup and taxonomy, and there are opportunities to use generative AI to manage your AI governance and quality. For example, at Amplitude, we launched our AI-powered Data Assistant product last year, which offers intelligent recommendations and automation to make data governance seamless and help users take charge of data quality efforts.

The Germany Vegetable Oil is Expected to Grow at a Significant Growth Rate, and the Forecast Period is 2023-2030, Considering the Base Year as 2022.
Vegetable oil is derived from various plant sources, including seeds, nuts, and fruits. It is widely used in baking, cooking, and food preparation and is a basic ingredient in modern cuisine. The extraction process involves crushing the seeds or nuts to release the oil, which is then separated from the solid residue through pressing or solvent extraction methods. Common vegetable oil varieties include soybean oil, canola oil, sunflower oil, olive oil, and palm oil.
The adaptability of vegetable oil is one of its main characteristics. Its neutral flavour allows it to complement a wide range of dishes without overpowering the natural taste of the ingredients. Vegetable oils are classified based on their fatty acid composition, with some being high in monounsaturated fats (like olive oil) and others in polyunsaturated fats (like soybean oil). These facts are considered healthier alternatives to saturated fats found in animal-derived oils and fats.
Vegetable oil serves multiple non-food uses in addition to culinary ones. It is employed in the creation of biodiesel, an environmentally responsible and renewable substitute for traditional fossil fuels. Vegetable oil derivatives are also utilized in the manufacturing of various products, such as cosmetics, soaps, detergents, and lubricants.
