I'm sorry if it's unsolicited advice u don't need to post this. I just can't message u so I thought of sending here, but if it helps, u don't need an iPad pro to run procreate properly. The newer generation ipads with iPadOS 14.4 or newer can run it. Even an Air is strong enough for drawing. Unless you're a professional who needs heavy-duty rendering (like really heavy), you wouldn't notice the difference between them too much, and that's good! Speaking from the exp of my professional artist friends and as someone who watched a lotta reviews bc I wanted one, too. (Personally ended up with CSP + Surface for school tho hehe).
However, if money isn't an issue, getting an iPad Pro would be super nice overall 🖤 If you wanted the pro so that u can use the Apple Pen 2 (which is super nice), iPad Air Gen 5/4 are also compatible with them na!
I was just speaking as a person who really loves to draw, too 💖
If u already knew all that I'm so sorry if this sounded weird akfkakfk
hii I have done some research but still thank you! It’s nice to hear opinions bc I’ve never had an iPad before, The 12.9” screen iPad Pro is just like.. so sexy tho 😮‍💨
😂 I actually was looking at the iPad Air 5 too and high-key the colours are cuter too, grey is boring lol

How do you make your comics? What program and what page size especially.
I use Procreate on iPad Pro.
My canvas size is 8.5 x 11 inches (or 5100px by 6600px) at 600dpi
Typically I start by drawing the panels and putting in the text
Tumblr media
Almost always I change the text in some way or another(hence why this is a very different conversation than the finished page), so this is just a rough idea of what happens on the page.
Tumblr media
Then I sketch the basic ideas of what I want in each panel and start doing the speech bubbles. The sketches change sometimes, but typically they’re pretty similar to what you read on Saturdays.
Tumblr media
I finalize all of the drawings and stuff, cleaning it all up so it looks nice.
Tumblr media
Then I add color and sound effects and look for typos. This is also when I make sure all the dialogue is in character and everything is how I want.
I do this process on all 5 pages throughout the week and repeat with every update.
Good question! :]

Note
its not in your faq, so can I ask what iPad you use? Mines kinda dying and I’m curious if you rate yours one artist to another
i get this question a lot and im not being funny but i never understand it because i just bought the ipad pro that was available the year my previous one died. apart from pro vs non pro models im not sure it really matters, you should just buy the one with the specs that best matches your needs and budget. i made an entire book on an ipad mini during the pandemic because it was the only model i could afford at the time. its all just ipads. does that make sense
according to the ‘about’ section it’s an 11 inch ipad pro (2nd gen) but i have no idea what that means. i rate it in that it works and i can draw on it. it’s not yet old enough that’s its slowing down. so sure? one artist to another it functions the way it’s meant to
