while I know all the Bridgersibs are ultimately happy for Anthony (esp now that he’s less of a hardass because he’s distracted by his beautiful wife LOL) I can’t wait to see the look of exasperation on their faces the 1000th time they’ve seen Kanthony giggle and kiss like lovesick teens on a random Tuesday afternoon. I know Eloise is the snarkiest about it at least 😆

Oh they’re super happy for Anthony. There’s such a difference in him after he tried to burn down the entire ton to be with Kate. He’s calmer, he’s more relaxed and they all love Kate. They loved her before it was certain that they’d be married. They love how she rolls her eyes and ignores Anthony. They love how she has no shame in taking a sly little dig at someone who expresses their concern and delight to find her still in England.

“Well, Lord Bridgerton and I have decided that our marriage might work best if I were to stay in England. A distant marriage isn’t suited for us I fear.”

Eloise and Francesca found themselves hiding their laughter behind their hands very poorly as the other woman gaped at Kate who seemed entirely unbothered as she sighed.

“Girls, your mother is expecting us for tea, we’d better be getting along.”

“I think you’re who I’d like to be when I grow up.” Eloise said still laughing as they made their way down the street. “You always seem to be able to get things exactly the way you want them. Anthony told me many times I couldn’t have a dog as he wouldn’t allow one in the house. I found Newton on the sofa the other day.”

Kate scoffed. “I find the trick to dealing with your brother is ignoring him and doing exactly as you mean to any way.”

They love Kate. They love that she gets so involved in their family games, they love her.

But the thing about Kate and Anthony is… they’re also Kate and Anthony.

They’re always tossing one another smiles and looks across the room and they sit after dinner with their heads bowed together giggling at something or other. Some private joke between the two of them.

It gets to be a bit much some time.

“Oh please!” Benedict groaned one night at the dinner table as Anthony grinned at his wife beside him. “No more I beg of you!”

“Yes!” Eloise hissed, “Some of us, are eating.”

“Some of us,” Anthony said easing his eyebrows, “Should be thankful that their brother hasn’t mentioned the articles I found tucked into a book calling for revolution.”

Eloise fell silent but Benedict only tutted, appealing to Kate. “Kate, I love you. You know I do. I would… fight a duel over you with Anthony if I thought you’d have me.”

Kate rolled her eyes. “I doubt that.”

Anthony looked affronted, “Don’t tempt me.”

“If you’ve ever cared for me,” Benedict carried on, “Please, please go and sit at the opposite end of the table.”

Anthony scoffed, “I don’t think that’s necessary.”

“Who are you?!” Benedict hissed, “You used to care about propriety!”

Kate gave Benedict a slow smile, winking at Anthony. “No, darling. Benedict’s right, this isn’t proper.” She turned down the table still smirking. “Violet would you swap with me?”

Violet looked a little wary but stood and took Kate’s seat so Kate was sat at the opposite end of the table from her husband, the entire family between them. She cleared her throat, talking loudly enough that they all had to hear.

“As I was saying, Darling: You look very handsome tonight.”

Anthony grinned as his siblings groaned, “You’re right Benedict. I do prefer this.”

“Yes!” Kate called out, “This is much more proper!”

“Thank you, Benedict.” Eloise sighed, “Thank you for this.”

“This isn’t exactly what I meant, obviously.”

That bridgerton sneak peak had some good chemistry they might make me tune in idk, I usually agree with you on most things ship related but I have a problem with this specific ship, Colin is the least interesting of the siblings so far but that's okay I didn't care for anthony either before his season, my bigger problem is Penelope, I think they tried to go for the drama and the twists too much and made her seem kind of awful? They're trying to pretend racism doesn't exist in that era but the way she outed Marina in s1 ( who was not doing a good thing at all but I don't she had much of a choice given her other option was abject poverty) and the way she talks about her friends in her column and outs everyone's shit, things that have really serious consequences on people's lives. The writers literally called her a villain which???? They're doing something I feel a lot of shows have a problem with lately, trying to girlboss women doing shitty things, same with their brand of white feminism for Eloise who spends all her scenes lamenting her fate and being "quirky" with no actual depth or confronting her privilege or trying to help other women or really anything at all, all she does is talk like a "not like other girls" girlie circa Tumblr 2012 and they're thinking omg we're being such feminists right now 🤣😅🤣

In all seriousness, I totally get where you’re coming from! I personally love polin and I’m very excited for them, but I don’t think the writing has always been the best. Obviously a lot of polin fans don’t agree with me, but I still think this season not being Benedict’s is so strange and a mistake. The general audience adores him and I think both Colin and Penelope could’ve done with another season of personal growth (and slow burn) to help them win over the rest of the audience more. I like Colin and I think he’s actually really funny when they give him a chance, but he’s done nothing to scream leading man like Benedict has yet. I guess S3 will tell us how much is on the writing so far vs Luke Newton. I want him to be so amazing, but I get the doubts because I still have some nerves about it too. I think the sneak peek looked great and is a great start so I’m gonna go in with optimism and positive thoughts!

Gotta defend Eloise because I think her thinking she’s ranting and valid but actually being more out of touch than she realizes is mostly purposeful! I like that as a character flaw and I think it’s realistic for someone in her position. Or maybe I just love Eloise lol. Penelope is a bit of a more… complex case. I see why people hate her, although I personally mostly like her even though I think she sucks for what she did to the Bridgertons. She’s just treated so polarizing one way or the other by the fandom and the producers are obsessed with her and I think that’s part of the problem.

I have doubts any of the Bridgerton ships will beat kathony for me but overall this fandom is so weird! I don’t get the ship wars amongst the ships because they are all canon and they’re all meant to have their spotlight and be enjoyed. I don’t mean you anon when I say this btw, I mean more the hardcore Bridgerton fandom. It’s why I don’t engage with them a lot lol. I just want to enjoy a cute ship every season.

Not sure if it is too late for fun stuff, but here is a scene I would love in season 3.

Anthony walks in to his study to find Newton chewing on one of his ledgers, he starts marching through the house screaming for Kate, he starts with Kate and then the more she ignores him (we see her in the drawing room clearly able to hear him) he shifts to calling her Kathani then Kathani Bridgerton as he gets more exasperated. In the drawing room Kate is calmly sitting reading, Violet is looking worried, Francesca is there looking amused and John (calling on Francesca) looks scared. Benedict walks in and tells Kate Anthony is calling for her, Kate replies with ‘is he I didn’t realise’ just as we hear Anthony screaming for her again.

Whew! That came out longer than imagined in my head!

What were your favorite moments in Bridgerton (not including Kate and Anthony)? And then your favorite Kate and Anthony moments?

Honestly, finding moments I would genuinely call "favorites" that didn't involve Kate and Anthony together is very hard. But in no particular order:

Eloise LIGHTING PENELOPE UP. Actually, this is definitely my favorite NON-Kate/Anthony moment. She mentioned! It! All! And how valid of her? It's honestly hysterical to me that people are still trying to say that Penelope is a good person--she can be your fave, but she is a garbage human being by any stretch of the imagination and Eloise was completely right here. Penelope's feeble attempts to fight back only made it funnier. An insipid wallflower, indeed. I also, as someone who generally finds Eloise annoying, found this very sympathetic. It just would be such a mindfuck to have your best friend, who you've been loyal to through thick and thin, drag you and your family through the mud like that. I never said Eloise is a cunt! Eloise is my friend!

Colin saying that he'd never marry Penelope, mainly because it's honestly going to be ridiculous of them to try to back out of that one, but they will. In the book, it was a flustered comment of a young guy being teased by his brothers, and he feels like shit about it immediately. In the show, he doesn't know she heard it, he acts like he would rather die than fuck her, he says "ARE YOU MAD?" and is incredibly pithy. If there was supposed to be NUANCE to that moment, I missed it. But honestly, Luke Newton is a very dull actor, so maybe there was.

Edwina gets a prince. I love Edwina. I would like to see her back next season so I can watch her supercut scenes. But if I don't, I'll assume she married the prince whether or not it's mentioned.

*not involving Kate so it counts* Anthony college admissions scandal-ing Benedict. Fucking hilarious. I too would do whatever is necessary to send Benedict off to art school so that he can realize that he's not actually good at art. Also, this played into the idea that Anthony is just paying everyone's bills and they're fucking lucky to have him (even though they're ungrateful cuntburgers, ALL OF 'EM) and that's sexy of him.

Anthony going to Benedict's art school and being like "YOU LIVE LIKE THIS" with his 5 o'clock shadow. Benedict is the only Bridgerton besides Anthony (and Penelope Evisceration Eloise) I wouldn't push off a cliff, so. I enjoyed their banter. Anthony stepping into an art school and being repulsed by everyone there is very reflective of me attending art school for literal years. I enjoy the way Luke T. and JB play off each other. You could interchange this with Benedict loudly asking Anthony if there's a reason why the wedding is being called off THAT HE CAN ONLY TELL HIM. Benedict just assumed that Kate was fully pregnant, and I think that's both hilarious and wise of him. The only one in that family who actually knows Anthony, lbr. Should've figured that he got his way into art school paid for, based both off the quality of his work and Anthony being Anthony.

(I also think it's very funny to imagine Anthony being too happy with his own personal life now that he's married and getting that good pussy from Kate on the regular to like... actually resolve things with Benedict. Like they had one fraught convo about him Olivia Jade-ing Benedict and then he was like "... anyway! Gonna go try to get Kate to marry me (again)! Love is so wild, Benedict!" Season 3 is gonna start and Benedict is gonna be like it's been a year and I'm still mad about that and Anthony's gonna be like "lmao my wife is fucking pregnant I don't have time for this I'm NESTING, BENEDICT".).

As for Kate/Anthony moments, in no particular order:

The sex scene(?). Let's call it GazeboGate + those Guilty Flashbacks. As much as I want more, it's what I got, and I do appreciate that he took care of her lol. I wish it was edited differently, but I know they shot good material and I will be leading a March On Shondaland for the tapes. We storm at dawn. (Just kidding, as I feel I must clarify in these trying times.). As I've discussed in my tags, I loved all the tongue, the handholding while he's going down on her (FOR MORAL SUPPORT), the fact that he kissed her right after going down on her (nice to know where they land on that debate). I also did love the buildup. The "Go. In. Side." warning shot was very classic historical romance. I think it's extremely hilarious that he went for her clit immediately and then was like I WILL STOP. Really dude? I think the barrier has been breached here.

The little postnuptial moment that extended into a makeout in front of his stupid family. I like to think that everyone was welcomed home for that Pall Mall game and then sent away so that they could fuck around the house. I'm so glad they went on a six month honeymoon as a reprieve from those ungrateful wretches that leech off the money he doesn't work for but nonetheless BALANCES. I loved him calling her viscountess. I love the touching. INEEDMORE.MP3.

I actually did really like the big spiel about India not being far enough away. It was very horny. I think it would be even better if they'd kissed or if he'd fingerblasted her with the door open, but aside from that I fully approved. JB can deliver a line, I gotta say. As a full trashbag, I also do love, as one Twitter user astutely pointed out, this was just him being like listen I'm gonna wanna cheat on her with you every day until I finally do it.

Anthony showing up with tulips like "very sorry I licked you to orgasm, please accept my hand" is so funny to me. Him like, jamming the ring in her face. Her being horrified, because yeah, you would be, and she's fresh off a TBI. Also lol, him awkwardly being like "I DIDN'T PICTURE IT GOING DOWN, OR RATHER ME GOING DOWN, LIKE THAT". What did you picture??? I know he fantasized about some ridiculous canopy bed gauzy sheets situation and they both cried after and held hands and snuggled for six hours. Maybe we didn't see the wedding night because it would be too embarrassingly emotional.

The how many fingers am I holding up momentttt. So brief, but representative of the shit I wish we'd seen more of! If I'd run this season I would've actually kept a lot of Kate and Anthony's shit the same in terms of the love triangle and premarital sex, I just would've cut subplots and moved everything up 1-2 episodes so that we could have more time with them married/figuring their shit out. But this like? Fondness? And everything being laced with the charge of them knowing that they've done sexual shit to each other and nobody knows and he's trying to make her feel comfortable while also feeling like he's ruined her life and everyone is looking at them??? MY JAM.

1. ALL Bridgertons included in Pall Mall. Daphne confirmed, and Simone said she was there with ‘all of the cast.’ Jonny said something like “All of the Bridgertons.” If this means Greg and Hyacinth content, then I’m all over it.

2. Newton gets an arc!!! Pls let it be known that, in terms of things I am excited about, priority goes Kathony kiss, mr finch cheese content, then Newton arc. Fight me!!! 

3. Kate is “outside the ton and deliberately put herself in there.” EW author also called her a ‘spinster,’ which should be taken with a grain of salt would def explain her non-dance card laden wrists. I am very excited about this prospect, an improvement from canon for me.

4. The sharmas grew up in India (No comment).

5. Queen uses Edwina AS A PAWN to unmask whistledown??? Will she tell Edwina to cause more drama/advise her poorly on situations to lure LW into spotlight so Charlotte can nail to her to a time/place/person?? Eloise wants to find LW too but is protective over her. Will Edwina and Eloise be rivals in that? Will they team up and be friends like in the book? Will they and Pen have a little nerd girl squad??? This crum can only lead to great shit imo.

6. Jonny’s comment about Anthony being most “honest, fatigued and exhausted” in quiet moments in his study and in women’s beds. I wanna see him fuck someone else and then be emo about it, hope this confirms this.

7. KATE IS IN TOUCH WITH HER DESIRES !!! She’s been to a farm for sure lol, has maybe gotten herself off and potential for raunchy dreams from her AND him. They should splice the dreams together in editing, just for me to enjoy.

8. Colin is a biscuit king. Love the physical comedy and cartoonish aspect when it’s put in the show. Sibling stuff and fun moments were best part of S1. Lets hope we get a lot of this.

9. Daphne is considered ‘the rock’ of the siblings now, ‘the adult’ and someone to guide Anthony on his journey to love lol, but also she ‘lets her hair down’ at Aubrey hall and is v competitive at Pall Mall. This was the only thing they could really do with her, so I just hope the shift seems natural for her character. 

10. Simone said that Kathony “TEACH EACH OTHER HOW TO LOVE, TO LET LOVE IN, GIVE LOVE, AND ACCEPT THE SCARY PARTS” this. THIS. is why I don’t think they’ll fuck up the romance or even that much of the backstory (or at least Anthony’s :/)

11. Polin wrote while he was away?? Cute. 

12. Kate and Anthony are ‘anti-gossipers’ in Simone’s words. Makes sense for Anthony, and for both after marriage, but Kate not being into whistledown is a deviation from the book. Not mad at it, not a big deal to me either?

13. Edwina is ‘optimistic to a fault’ and looking for a LOVE match. But has a ‘wild streak’. She wants to be sensible but her true nature is to be starry-eyed idealist. it also said “She lets others speak for her bc she can’t express herself.” While i personally hope she makes out with some girls and also think she will have a classism subplot thing along with queen stuff, we know she will get a happy ending. we just don’t know what it is. What we do know is that ppl will hurt her/take advantage of her along the way, and she will hurt in return. 

14. They still won’t admit Jack is the featherington heir. Which fine, I guess but I see no other way. Maybe he’s a solicitor. But he’s involved with the featheringtons for sure and idk i want him to fuck portia there i said it.

15. Pen has money she could use to help her family but doesn’t. That deviated from canon a bit but it’s interesting for sure. I think we’ll see her make as poor of decisions as last season but also show remorse. Her arc is a little too big to nail down.

16. Colin’s “not focused on romance” but “other pursuits and ventures” that dont end in heartbreak. So what you’re saying is that he’s a whore. Good. Maybe he’ll gain his interest in writing. 

17. Kate’s “outside the rules” but also has “a lot to work out” this alludes to her backstory, i think. And it’s confirmed her and Ed are half sisters so we have that too.

18. The video said EW released like an hour or two ago said shit about fooling around “in the library. you never know who could be in the stacks.” Who. WHO. WHOO.

19. “And if you can’t risk temptation, watch out for bees” in regard to keeping lips to oneself. I mean if they didnt include this, it’d be ridiculous. But also maybe Kathony are already making out when the bee comes. Wouldnt be a crazy deviation.

Bridgerton season II (TVWLM) and possible ways the episodes could go because I’m actively avoiding the work I’ve got to do so why not some headcanons

This is all spec for shits and giggles.

EP 1: Introduction to the Sheffields coming to London. Scene at Whites--Colin’s back from Greece bloomed and ready get rollin--cut to: A telling B&C he’s planning on getting married. (I’m still holding on to the hope that we’re getting that gem because he just told Daphne and Simon in the finale, not his brothers.) Possible flashback to Edmund’s death. I feel like it’ll likely happen in this episode unless we keep playing at the, what is Anthony hiding a bit longer? Although really, the audience should know assuming not all of them have read the book at that point. A bit of what other characters are up to, perhaps a scene with S&D and their son. Maybe some Whistledown etc. Pen and Eloise shenanigans. (I really don’t think we’re getting an introduction to the Queen again, if we do, it’d be really interesting to see her deem Edwina flawless and Kate well ... Kate.) Eloise probably avoids this moment like the plague or is banned by the queen. (Lol!) Finally the ball, Colin meddles, Kate and Anthony dance happens, nonstop boot stomping and all. She refuses to let him court Edwina, and he’s all--well now I’m gonna court her even harder. DRAMATIC DEATH STARES ENSUE.

EP 2: Some more Edwina courting shenanigans. NEWTON shenanigans. The Serpentine possibly? Another ball. Kate being Kate and throwing death stares at him constantly. (You go, girl!) Anthony’s ready to strangle her. Colin gets it. (This episode probably leaves a lot more room for some other characters to get screen time as well.)

EP 3: More Newton shenanigans? Yes? Yes. THE STUDY. I’m still so torn with how this scene or any version of it could possibly play out. On one hand, I highly doubt Violet would invite Siena into her house knowing Anthony’s courting someone, on the other, I can’t imagine anything being more crucial to his development than seeing her again and thus convincing him fully that this wasn’t love. It would also set Kate off because she’d be under the impression that he loves this woman and he will be with Edwina over her dead body. Plus, Anthony kissing her would be an even bigger revelation for him having (almost) the chance to have had Siena again but completely losing himself in Kate. I need this, but I’m super conflicted about it, namely because it’d ruin Siena’s moment of independence more than anything, and I thought that was a great scene for her. But the study, yo. I need some form of that scene. Kate crouched under his desk clawing his knee. Please God and Lord Jesus make this happen. Thanks.

EP 4: PALL FREAKING MALL, let’s go. This entire episode should be dedicated to it. And it could very well be. Bits and pieces of them at Aubrey Hall, the dinner, but mainly PALL MALL every little detail of this ridiculous game, Anthony gazing out the window trying to find Kate, wake up from dreams of her, being haunted by her and trying hard to court Edwina because he’s a stubborn shit and failing. Also since we didn’t get Anthony and Simon falling into the lake, I need Kate to do the thing and send him straight towards it. That is the most important Pall Mall after all--sending Anthony into the lake. And then the episode ends with THE LIBRARY. Which is a perfect place to leave off because again, we don’t have big huge moments like the duel so I’m thinking build up for them takes longer, and having this moment is their big set up. They see each other as they truly are, he comforts her through the storm, sees himself and his very darkness in someone else for the first time. The episode ends with them going their separate ways. 

EP 5: (We could also continue getting more angst here with them avoiding each other after the moment then bam, bee sting, boob venom shenanigans, compromised, gazebo shenanigans, Anthony’s big fat book of rules. (Which he himself doesn’t plan on complying to.) Their wedding concludes the episode, Anthony’s bachelor lodgings then back to Aubrey Hall for their honeymoon.

EP 6: HONEYMOON, BEECHES. (See what I did there? Please indulge my dumb attempts thank you. xo) So, here’s the thing, their conflict isn’t as big as S&D’s. And they’ve already got so much build up and angst in the beginning that keeping them apart in the same way just wouldn’t make as much as sense. A ball?! Maybe?! So we get him shoving people to get through to her. The bits with Edwina coming over to talk about Bagwell. Or whomever.  He comes home to be with his wife because he’s bored with everyone else! We get the storm here as well and the conversation with Mary about her trauma. So I can see this episode ending fairly happily for the most part, unless bam, end scene--dramatic buffoon runs away because she says “always and forever.” 

(OR...we could possibly see some changes where he leaves prior to this because the feelings are just too much and he needs space. She doesn’t get it so it makes her sad. (And I will strangle him for doing this to her.) Realizes a storm is coming goes home to be with Kate finds her already reliving through the terrors. Then they go to Mary’s, then seeing her resolve her issues forces him to just distance himself.) 

EP 7: Although ^ that said, I still love Eloise sending out the big bold, please come collect your man letter. And here’s where I’ve got headcanons just judging by how much intimacy we got with S&D amidst their fight. Anthony’s drunkass gives in to her--perhaps it’s holding her for a bit before he realizes, nope feelings. Maybe he does give in to Kate trying to kiss him. They do. And then maybe he does actually go home and tries to be tougher about his big bad, stupid plan. (Maybe the Bagwell/Edwina conversation could also take place here where they have to put on a happy couple face as well.) But then he’s constantly on edge about it in the episode so he continues avoiding her in the afternoons and goes to Whites, finally has his dramatic epiphany that ah yes love is the answer. (His brothers, but also Simon too in this scene plz) Runs home, but the accident happens--love confessions--the episode ends.

EP 8: (Flash forward to maybe a month) Okay so the reason I’m thinking or rather hoping the accident won’t happen in this episode is because I want more intimacy and it is what we good citizens of the world deserve. But also because their epilogue takes place so much later that I wonder how it’ll be worked into the actual season. So instead, seeing them actually try to work through their fears, seeing them both continue to talk about their traumas, and then having the season end with them moving into Bridgerton House feels like a fitting end, watching the family move out possibly, and a good start to Book 3. The masquerade could be held in this episode then Benedict meets Sophie and bam, kicks off the beginning of their story.

i’d like to think that they both get a bit competitive whenever the bridgertons are over for dinner. i guess sitting at either side of the table and being able to stare each other down just makes them extra messy, lol.

the story that kate’s recounting in the beginning is one of my post-book headcanons, which can be found here.

now, let’s take a look into a dinner with the bridgerton family, where lord and lady bridgerton take things a bit too far:

“And then they both came home soaking wet!” Kate exclaimed, the Bridgerton family looking on as Anthony’s face flushed red with embarrassment. “Imagine my surprise upon seeing him—“ She nodded her head at her husband, who was seated at the other end of the table. “—appear in the doorway of our bedroom, dripping water all over the floor and holding Newton’s muddy paws!”

“He jumped into the Serpentine,” Anthony explained mildly, pushing a pea around his plate and ignoring Eloise’s muttered Again? “And when I got him out, he shook the water all over me. It was terrible.”

“I’m sure it wasn’t,” Kate replied. “The imprint of his muddy paws all over your shirt was actually rather adorable.”

“He ruined my shirt!” Anthony protested, frowning. “It was the farthest thing from adorable.”

“In fact,” She continued, ignoring her husband and glancing at Hyacinth, who had covered her mouth in order to stop her giggles from escaping. “I think it may have been the highlight of my entire recovery.”

Anthony scoffed quietly, the sound barely heard over the clinks of silverware colliding with plates. “Surely not.”

“Or, perhaps,” Kate added, staring at him. “The highlight of my entire marriage.”

“Oh, now that’s certainly not true.” He replied, his eyes darkening.

“Is that so?” She questioned, cocking her head to the side, propping her elbows up on the table — most improper, but it wasn’t as if they were having this conversation in front of the entire ton, even if the Bridgerton family seemed to make up almost half of it — and letting her chin fall into her hands. She was the very picture of innocence — feigned innocence, that is. “What would you suppose the highlight of our union to be?”

Anthony blinked at her, his eyes narrowing, and all of a sudden she realized that it was as if she’d gotten tunnel vision for the past few moments: the only person she could focus on was him; his siblings and mother lining the sides of the table were just blurry spots in the corners of her vision, and Anthony was the only one perfectly in view. She suspected that the same was currently true for him.

“Well,” He started, clearly stalling. “I rather think it was when I finally convinced you to let me ti—“

“I think that’s quite enough,” Violet interrupted loudly, smiling politely at her son, and then at her daughter-in-law. “A conversation for another time, perhaps?”

“Oh, certainly,” Kate mumbled in reply, blushing madly and attempting to hide her embarrassment by taking a sip from her glass.

She looked around the table. Gregory and Hyacinth seemed a bit confused, Frannie didn’t seem to care, Eloise was glancing at both Kate and Anthony with a crazed, wide-eyed look, Daphne was attempting to hide her laughter, and Colin and Benedict were not-so-subtly elbowing each other in the ribs.

And Anthony just looked like he wanted to melt into the floor.

Immediate thoughts on Bridgerton, Season 2, Episode 7 ("Harmony") below the cut

Edwina's still heartbroken and giving Kate a cold shoulder and the silent treatment. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Edwina was never actually in love with Anthony. She only thought she was. But the whole thing must have been humiliating. If anyone has a right to be angry, it's Edwina.

I like the nods to the source material with things like the "lily soap."

Both the Bridgertons and Sharmas are getting the cold shoulder from the ton. Portia needs to learn that the topic of Marina and Colin's almost marriage is not one she should bring up in conversation half as much as she does.

Eloise is being accused of being Lady Whistledown. Honestly, with how popular Lady Whistledown is among the ton, I'm surprised it took over a decade in the books for anyone to try and put some real effort into finding out who she was.

That drawing room scene at Lady Danbury's is so awkward. I imagine Kate and Anthony had the same idea: sit as far away from Edwina as possible. Kate especially doesn't want to sit directly across from Edwina and be in her line of sight. But this puts them sitting at the same table. And Edwina is looking back and forth between them. Mary's giving Kate a Look when she suggests they might need another story as to why things ended.

Edwina rolling her eyes at the ball, but then she sees Anthony expressing his dislike of the idea and Kate silently nodding in agreement. So she changes course and agrees with the ball just so she can get in another jibe at Kate and Anthony. Mary's not liking this attitude in front of guests from the sound of that Edwina...

Newton has finally warmed up to Anthony!

"Was I truly that blind?" No, Edwina. You weren't blind. You saw all of it with your own eyes. You were just the last person to put all the puzzle pieces together.

I'm loving Mary Sharma strolling around the gallery with Anthony and just throwing shade at him constantly. But she also gives Anthony more insight into Kate and how he and she are similar with how they both stepped up to take responsibility over their families when they were too young to really do so.

I know the not-wedding only just happened and Edwina has the right to be as mad as she likes for as long as she likes, but I'm looking forward to when these sisters are finally sisters again. It would be unrealistic for them to make up with each other so soon after what happened, so I'll allow Edwina's grudge and her barbs for a while longer.

Kate is now the one that seems more afraid of her own feelings than Anthony at this point.

The new Lord Featherington trying to bamboozle Colin. How many more times is he going to have something bad happen to him personally because of the Featherington relations? I hope Penelope finds out somehow and warns him not to invest.

I LOVE THE COUNTRY DANCE SO MUCH! The music, Anthony dancing with Hyacinth, Gregory dancing with Lady Danbury. Everyone looking so happy, at least for a moment. And Anthony and Kate, of course, are drawn together by the end of the dance, like magnets.

I feel for Eloise and for Penelope at this moment. The only way to save Eloise, ironically, was to destroy her. A casual mention of her sounds like a response to the Queen's comment that Eloise isn't really mentioned in the column. If Penelope confessed to it, the Queen could interpret that as a friend trying to save a friend by falsely claiming to be Whistledown.

Sorry, Edwina, but I'm going to have to disagree with you. It's cruelty if you're intentionally trying to hurt someone. Kate was never trying to hurt you. However, you're intentionally trying to hurt Kate at this point. I hope you make up with your sister soon.

"Can you ever just agree?" But then you wouldn't have nearly as much fun, Anthony.

Kate and Anthony realizing how alike they really are. Both of them finally deciding to be selfish just once. Finally, they're doing something for themselves instead of for others.

Did we get as many sex scenes this season? No, we didn't. But when it comes to quantity versus quality, I will choose quality every time. And the sex scene out in the garden is QUALITY.

Side note: where can I get a regency era corset/bra like the one Kate is wearing?

Anthony has been waking up/lying in bed with a scowl for the entire season. This is the first time we've seen him wake up with a smile and he reaches out for Kate but she's fled back home after their one night stand.

Yeah, that shot of Anthony looking up at Kate with his face between her legs is going to live in my mind forever now.

Anthony immediately going over to Kate's in the rain to propose to her. He definitely rode his horse instead of bothering to wait for a carriage since he shows up soaking wet. Since he tells the staff "I know it is early" it's possible that he came even before breakfast. The rest of the Sharmas might not even be awake yet.

8. Share a snippet from one of your favourite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

This one's hard because I was once told that my dialogue wasn't good and I've been insecure about it since then. This is from ROTB chapter 8, so big ol' spoiler warning.

“We have! Have you not enjoyed the time we have spent together?” Brilliant, he looked hurt.

“Of course I have, you know I have!”

“So? We have also become friends, have we not? That is more than most men and women have at the beginning of a union”.

“Anthony, no one is going to believe you wanted to marry me, everyone is going to think you were trapped. Which you were, in a way, by a stupid bee”.

“I was not more trapped than you are!”

“That is not how it appears and you know it,” she told him looking at him straight in the eye. “I have no dowry. You should know I have no dowry,” she placed a finger on his lips to stop him from protesting, “you have been very publicly chasing after my sister for most of the season, and anyone with half a neuron knows that I did not approve. You know what they will say: the plain sister was so jealous of her sister that she seduced the Viscount, and now look at him”.

“They will not say that! Mother will spin it! Just wait until she gets beside herself because of the wedding. Daphne will tell a tale so romantic that it will no longer matter! You need to trust me, Kate, I will keep you safe”.

“I did not think this would happen,” she asked standing and starting to pace around.

“Kate, you would have to marry eventually, am I such a bad prospect?”

“To be honest, I had rather assumed I would not”.

“You planned to live your life as a spinster?”

“It seemed a definite possibility, yes,” she nodded like it was obvious. “And if it is all for nought?” She continued, “if Whistledown by some miracle reports nothing and we have already announced our nuptials?”

“I still cannot see the problem”.

I just love this scene. I really like how it escalates and deescalates from the beginning of the night until they get to this point in the chapter and the ending of this part in the fic. A lot of times I try to imagine how the dialogue I'm writing would play if it is a scene in a TV show or something and I could see this one very clearly, so that's why I'm kind of proud of it. No idea if it translated though, so there's that lol.

What to Call You

Hands down. I'd been toying with the idea for a while before I finally sat down and wrote it but it was one of those rare instances when the words just flow. It's not even 2k long but I really really loved writing it.

20. Describe your perfect writing conditions.

One of those lazy, rainy days, fuzzy socks on, a very hot tea on the table and a candle burning. One of those days when you just get up, have some food, get a nice shower, change your sheets while the hair is air drying, you get into comfy clothes and the inspiration just flows because you've found the perfect playlist on the first try.

37. Talk about your currentWIPs.

Don't I bore you with the constant chatter? lol. This is long, so just skip it, it's fine.

- Ring Out The Bells. Of course, the favourite child (don't tell the others), she is also the one that brings me the most trouble. The Charlotte Bridgerton to my Anthony, shall we say. Chapter 13 keeps looking at me like Newton would at the Serpentine, but I just don't have time for it right now. The transition at the beginning is still not cooperating, and it's the kind of chapter that I don't know where to cut, so the outline right now is pretty wonky. I'll sit down and write it once I'm done with the semester.

- The Modern AU. If ROTB is looking at me with puppy eyes, the Modern AU is that baby in the SIMS that won't stop crying. The "It needs attention or it will be taken away" notification has popped a couple of times, but it's hanging in there. (I'm done with the SIMS references I promise). The good thing about that fic is that I keep adding scenes to the timeline I thought about when I first thought about it, so the entire arc of the thing is set. It'll hopefully be easy to keep the chapters coming when I start posting it.

- All the boys Charlotte loved (except with a better title). This is a fic that has decided to squat in my brain. It's going to be a post ROTB canon fic about the four times Charlotte falls in love, and each chapter is going to be from the POV of one of the Kathony babies. This popped into my head while I was trying to distract my mind into sleep the other day and now I'm swimming in headcanons. So, there's this to look forward to.

- Kate and Anthony find out they are pregnant with Mary. This was a prompt request that I actually got pretty into and is waiting to be finished, but I wasn't in the best headspace while I started writing it and it got dark, twisty and really angsty VERY fast. So I decided to stop, because the last time I took a prompt and went dark with it Kate became an assassin. So, that's going to get a rewrite lol.

- Other fics that I am going to write but I haven't started planning yet include, the Benophie 460verse fic, a Kathony soulmates AU, the dialogue prompt, and various prompts that have been in my ask box for ages (I have no shame, but I will get them all done I promise).

Fun Fact: Jonathan Bailey who plays Anthony Bridgerton is an Olivier award winning musical theater actor. Luke Newton (Colin) has also done musical theater and they've both done musical TV shows for Disney. Luke Thompson is also pretty musically inclined although I don't think he's ever done it professionally. It's not at all surprising they are able to harmonize beautifully. (Maybe you know all this but I read your tag on the Bridgerton Bros video so in case you didn't know.)

Oooooh, nonnie, fun fact I did not know that! Thanks so much for the info :D It actually makes a lot more sense now, lol. Apparently quite a few in the cast are musically gifted. I’m definitely eagerly awaiting the Bridgerton stage musical adaptation now. 😁 (I would also totally go for like a musical episode a la Buffy. Musical Christmas special? Oh the possibilities.)

Kate blinked. “Right well, I’ll just… sit with your Mum and enjoy how you look in those tweed pants.”

“After, I’ll show you how if you like.”

Kate nodded, feeling a little awkward as she sat beside Anthony’s mother who eyed her dress. “You and I, Kate, are going to need to talk about where you get your clothes because this is the third time this weekend I’ve wanted to give you a round of applause when you’ve come downstairs.”

“Thank you, Violet.”

She watched as Anthony took his place, nudging his siblings out of the way to go first, and missed every one of his targets as the deafening crack of the rifle split the air, even this far back. And she couldn’t help herself.

But Jonny has been actively promoting participating in Comic Relief Day for like a month now, so why are they surprised? He's a popular and established actor now b/c of his season. OFC he's participating in this.

Luke Newton can't act out of an elementary school play, and will fail his own season of the show. Why would BBC ask an untalented actor to participate in this sketch?

First off, thanks so much for reading all of this trash that I’m forcing out into the world! Still constantly surprised that people seem to want more. Secondly, I’m saving Kate’s first pregnancy for this week’s fic update so I’ll instead tell you a little bit about Kate being pregnant with Mary Bridgerton

It was a little bit of a surprise when Kate realised she was pregnant for the fourth time. Their youngest, Charlotte would be 4 in September and she and Anthony had both thought she would be their last. Kate loved her children desperately but even she could admit, they (Charlotte particularly) were chaos personified. But when she’d woken up one morning and felt sick to her stomach nausea rolling , Newton hovering anxiously by the side of her bed, she just knew. She turned to Anthony, still sleeping soundly beside her and smacked him, hard, on the side of the head. He woke with a start What was that for?! He’d yelled, his voice still thick with sleep Kate had scowled and said I’m Pregnant. The stupid grin that overtook his face was enough for Kate’s resolve to crack a matching one lighting up her own.

Kate had been Pregnant three times before, but this was different. Right from the very beginning, her back ached, her feet hurt, she was sick constantly and Kate was thrilled to be having another baby, she really was but she found herself angry glaring at her sister-in-laws Lucy and Sophie who were just glowing with the joy of expectant motherhood (Lucy got an extra glare for her perfectly placid children). Anthony, was, as always, full of love and pride every time he looked at her, which only served to make her more bloody annoyed with each day This is all your fault Anthony! She said, nearly constantly. And her infuriating husband had the audacity to smirk, that stupid, smug, handsome smirk, and call It takes two to tango Katie! Over his shoulder. Yeah Two fucking idiots! Kate yelled in response. Mrs. Smythe-Smith tutted loudly every time, her daughter Iris chuckling beside her.

Anthony finds himself very stressed when Kate goes into labour with Mary. Yes, she’s done this before and everything went smoothly, but this time everything seems different, harder even. The labour is long, very long and Kate is so tired, but happy by the time the midwife deposits their new daughter in his arms, and she’s absolutely beautiful with her caramel coloured skin, and his nose, and Kate’s eyes. A perfect mix of the two of them. She’s so beautiful Kate. He whispers as he holds their child, and Kate makes a satisfied little noise beside him. But then everything seems to go wrong. There’s bleeding apparently, so much bleeding and Kate’s eyes roll back in her head and he’s left watching as his wife is wheeled away from him, into emergency surgery, clutching his newborn daughter. Terrified.

Mary Sheffield finds him and hour later, still clutching his child, tears streaming down his face. He hadn’t known who else to call, he’d just thought that Kate needed her Mother there when she woke up. I’m sorry Mary, I don’t know what to do I think she might- his voice chokes off Mary looks sadly down at him, tears in her own eyes that he can see she’s refusing to let fall and says urgently, firmly, You listen to me Anthony Bridgerton. My daughter is not going to die. She is going to leave this hospital and raise those beautiful children you’ve given her. Do you understand? Anthony nods slowly, and squares his shoulders But for now I think it would be alright if we have a little cry. She finishes as she wraps him into a tight hug where they stay until The doctor comes out and informs them, that the bleeding in under control, and Kate should be just fine. He looks down at the tiny baby, who hasn’t cried, barely made a sound through the entire ordeal and sees the way her little brows are set, almost as if she had a firm resolve not to let herself. And whispers This one is Mary.

When Kate wakes up, she looks around at the hospital room and can’t quite remember how she got there. She remembers vaguely a baby crying and then pain and everything went black. She looks at Anthony who leapt from his seat the moment he saw her eyelids fluttering, taking her hand tightly and she whispers, her voice dry and cracking We are never doing this again. Four is enough for anyone. And Anthony feels himself laugh for the first time in what feels like years

He barely even complains when she schedules the appointment for him to ensure that there are certainly no more Baby Bridgertons.

So that got a little dramatic in the middle there, as always, Sorry about me!

I am such a sucker for comforting Anthony and my favorite part in the book is when he helps Kate through her panic attack for the first time

I was wondering if you could do something along the same lines in your Bridgerton and Sons AU but after they’ve started dating. Something like Kate having a panic attack for the first time and Anthony freaking the hell out but then helping her through it. Aww my heart!!

Ummmmmm OF COURSE I remember you! 

I may sound insane when I say this but I remember probably each and every one of you and when someone new likes one of my posts I’m like “You’re new here. I’m so sorry.” “Quite the fan following” My goodness! This made me chuckle! The thought of me having any kind of following is a little absurd to me tbh  😂 I took a birthday portrait for my cat yesterday, y’all. I’m. Yep. Just. Okay.  But also, you created a tumblr just for this content???  My god, that is so incredibly flattering and I hope it lives up to your expectations!

Okay! So! in my mind, the first time Anthony saw Kate have a panic attack (Which fortunately happen quite infrequently for her now) was that time in Dormant on the Anniversary of her Father’s death. So I’m instead going to tell you about the next time she has one. And, against all of her instincts, against every part of her telling her to run away and hide, She does what Anthony says. She finds Him. 

“Anthony, Honey are you sure that you-” His mother’s voice was cut off by the ringing of his phone. He glanced down at it, a little apologetically the name Kate Sheffield (Sex Goddess)  flashing across the screen.  “Sorry, Mum. It’s Kate. I’ll just be a second.” He said, his mother giving him an indulgent smile as he moved into the hallway, one of his own creeping onto his face as he answered. 

And he immediately knew something was wrong. He could hear deep breathing on the end of the phone, gasping for air, his fiancée’s voice choking out before he could start 

“Anthony, umm...” a pause and a deep breath “It’s Kate.” And his heart was in his throat his mind racing already  “Kate, honey. Is everything okay? Are Mary and Edwina okay?” He said, panic creeping into his own voice a little. He could hear her breath shuddering as she struggled the words from her chest.  “They’re... not here... You... Umm.. You told me to find you if this happened. and I know you’re helping your mum but Do you think-” She stuttered out and Anthony’s heart started racing. Kate was alone, having a panic attack. They’d spoken gently after the forst time it had happened, month’s ago now Mary and Edwina don’t know do they? He’d said gently and she’d shaken her head a little embarrassed Not anymore. And before she could even get the question out he was saying gently into the phone  “Are you at home?” She made a soft affirmative noise and his heart stuttered at how weak it sounded “Okay, just stay on the phone, I’m coming home.” Kate’s breath shuddered. 

“Mum.” Anthony said, forcing himself to remain calm as he ducked his head back into the living room “I’m gonna have to head out, Kate needs me at home.” His mother looked up, a little startled  “Is everything alright?” She said gently, her brow furrowing. Anthony forced himself to roll his eyes “Newton’s gotten himself into a sticky situation. He’ll be alright.” Violet chuckled lightly and said  “Say Hello to Kate for me, you really are so lucky, Anthony.” Anthony smiled at the truth of it and then he was gone. As soon as he was in the hall he was back on the phone, walking as quickly as he could, and when the front door closed behind him he was running down the street to his parked car. 

“Are you still there?” He said, keeping his voice soft, calm. Much calmer than the panic clawing at his chest as he reached the car. Kate took a deep breath though he could hear a soft sob coming from her and his heart broke.  “Yeah.” She said eventually as Anthony pulled into traffic.  “Why don’t you get Newton? He can keep you company until I get there. I’m coming, Kate. I’m on my way.” He whispered as the phone connected with the car’s system. He heard a shuffling, and then a whining noise and ridiculously Anthony’s panic calmed just slightly at the thought of Kate’s pudgy little dog at her side.  “I’ll be there in five minutes.”  “I’ll be there in four minutes.”  “I’ll be there in 2 minutes.”  “I’m right outside Honey, where are you?” Anthony counted down, listening to her stuttered breathing whispering soothing nothing’s as he drove weaving in and out of traffic as best he could.  “In the bedroom” She whispered just as he was parking the car. And then he was running, his heart thundering as he wrenched the door open, running up the stairs as fast as he could, bursting through the bedroom door, and the sight nearly stopped his heart. 

Kate was huddled at the foot if their bed, her arm wrapped around her middle, tears running down her face as sobs wracked her body, her breaths coming in harsh gulps. Anthony was practically panting as he moved gently towards her, Newton huddled in her lap, his nose pressed against her neck growled slightly as Anthony settled next to her.  “it’s okay, buddy. I’ve got her now.” He said gently as he wrapped his arms around her tightly. “I’m right here Kate, deep breaths...perfect.” He said gently has she gulped air into her system  “I love you, so much.” He said repeating it over and over as her breathing evened out, he felt her body relax into his and finally, her tiny voice “You shouldn’t marry me.” And his heart stopped again. “I’m a mess.”   Anthony forced himself to cluck his tongue  “Mmm but who else could put up with me?” He said, and he felt a choked laugh fight its way free from her chest, a little noise of disbelief.  “That’s probably true. I guess I’ll have to do it.” 

Anthony hummed again “Thank God.” they sat in silence for several seconds, Newton shifting to settle his head on Anthony’s lap. “I really am sorry you know.” Kate said “I don’t know what happened, I don’t know what’s wrong with me.” and she couldn’t look him in the eyes, they were fixed on her hand, on the engagement ring there, her eyes burning into it. Anthony cupped her cheek forcing her to look in his eyes, to feel what he was saying “There is absolutely nothing wrong with you. And that is my completely unbiased opinion as your future husband.” She let out an odd, huffing laugh again, her eyes lighting up for just a moment “We all need help or support sometimes, Kate. And I can’t wait to support you for the rest of my life.” He finished, brushing his lips lightly against hers, his heart clenching as she sighed against them  “Careful, Mr Bridgerton, sounds like you’re calling me a gold-digger.” She said when she pulled back, a tiny smirk forming on her lips. Anthony forced his face into a surprised expression  “Aren’t you?! God, that is good news!” The sound of her laughter rang out through the room, and it was the best music he’d ever heard.
