in no particular order:

• Pushing Daisies (2007) - Lee Pace baking pies and solving crimes??? The dialogue is my favorite, it’s so punchy and fun and I never get tired of it. The show is perfect and I hate that it got cancelled so soon. The way everything is getting a reboot/sequel show but not this??? It’s homophobia. One of the only shows I can actually rewatch again and again.

• Elementary (2012)- We were ROBBED of Natalie Dormer’s Moriarty. Lucy Liu as Joan Watson is the loml. I have never cared about Sherlock but I had such a fun time watching this show. The writing is top notch and while it is copaganda, it is fun copaganda.

• Crazy Ex-girlfriend (2015) - Rachel Bloom knows me and my trauma and my mental illness so well she wrote several songs about it. But seriously it’s such a good show and it handles mental illness in such a good way. The series finale actually feels satisfying which is rare for me. I sing most of the songs like every day. Several of them are on my mental breakdown playlist. So good, 10/10.

•The Flash (2014) - You know what I don’t get tired of Iris telling Barry to just run faster. Like I’m sorry Iris West is just that girl, and she needs to get more props for kickstarting the trend of robbing redheads of their representation. Candice Patton is the loml. This show is bad and cringe and gone on for too long but sometimes I just need a show where the hero saves the day because he loves his family and friends.

• Succession (2018) - They’re all horrible horrible people....but I could fix Shiv Roy. Listen I’m part of the succession hive since season two and I love it. Sometimes HBO prestige tv is good.

• Real Housewives of Potomac (2016) - They are the best houswives of the moment. After rhony and rhobh started to flop and rhoslc was filled with trump stans we needed a hero, and rhop came through. I root for these ladies, and I cry for these ladies.

• Dickinson (2019) - ....Alena Smith owes me millions in emotional damages. I cannot believe that Hailee Steinfield isn’t a little gay like she’s too good at playing gay. The writing is flawless, every season makes me bawl, emily and sue are just those girls and no one else comes close.

• Interview with the vampire (2022)- I’ve never been an Anne Rice vampire gay but I’m gonna have to be now. The writing is my favorite. The dialogue is legit poetry. They’re so gay and so dramatic. I never liked Lestat until Sam Reid, he just did what tom cruise could not. Also I will miss Bailey Bass so much as Claudia.

I'm curious about 'there is no other land' for the Ask Game.

So this is the Roy Kent sliding doors/Roy wishes he never trained Jamie fic and the title comes from Henry David Thoreau:

“You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island of opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land; there is no other life but this.”

So basically Jamie and Keeley are in Brazil. Roy gets drunk and worries they are getting back together and then has a dream they do get back together. Roy, in a moment of weakness makes a half hearted wish that he never trained Jamie. He wakes up the morning of the Mom City press conference in a world where he hadn’t.

Jamie, without an outlet, and hurt by his team falling for Zava and not noticing he’s not, falls back into season one Jamie. He doesn’t get capped for England.

The team is still doing total football but not as well. Jamie doesn’t have the same conditioning level without Roy and also he’s more reluctant to speak up because his footing with the team is less secure.

Roy, without a project to keep him busy, and without a friend in Jamie, is also not doing well. Him and Jamie are at each other’s throats, culminating with them getting into a fight on the sidelines the week before. So Keeley isn’t to keen on either of them right now.

Roy’s also in hot water with his sister and Phoebe because he snapped at Phoebe the week before when she asked him something about Jamie (nothing too horrible, just a quick stop fucking asking me about Jamie Tartt he’s a piece of shit or something like that which is just very unlike how Roy is ever with Phoebe and his sister won’t stand for him raising his voice to her at all).

And Jamie is still in the midst of his Mom City depressive episode. Roy is trying to help him but Jamie keeps pushing him away and it all culminates in the Manchester City game and Roy trying to convince Jamie he cares about him.

😵😵😵 finished time war all in one 24-hour go need to go to bed dont have words for it today anyways but Damn. continued to enjoy the hell out of it till the end. pretty predictable plot or at least plot that eventually looped back around to address the questions i still had from the premise by the end = still really engaging execution. epub with book club discussion questions at the end of it really funny lol. What is your favorite whump movies or tv shows?

TV shows (non-exhaustive list):

The Fall (season 3 episodes 1-3 (heavy, heavy, perfect med whump))

The Flash (season 1 & 2)

Graceland (specifically season 3, episode 8, but also late season 2 early season 3, and also some smattering in between)

Daredevil (season 1, this has some of the best scenes, like the BEST)

Roswell (season 1, the white room if you like lab whump go on the n*tflix and watch this episode)

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (throughout, but there are a lot of specific scenes that I love)

Spartacus, Blood and Sand (entire first season)

House/ER/Greys/Chicago Med (first handful of seasons, for my med whump)

Outlander (season 1, periodically, but I don't love it generally)

Movies/Scenes from Movies (it should be noted that I much more frequently perseverate on like feel-good light movies, I find that finding truly whumpy movies is rare and my overall preference is for light movies, since whumpy movies usually only have a handful of whumpy scenes and then you have to pay attention to the rest :))

Life Like (I just recently watched this and died 100 times over, it makes zero sense but we just don't look that deep)
