Something about I saw the tv glow and revolutionary girl utena both using coffins/graves as a literary device drives me crazy. Like your in the coffin. your in the grave. Everyone knows somehow. While I’m talking, Cloud almost killing Tifa in Gongaga is not just a ‘would that be fucked up or what’ moment or even because Tifa has the true memories/proof to counter Sephiroth’s lies (though, that is part of it). It’s also because killing Tifa is the antithesis of who Cloud is. It’s the antithesis of the little boy who put his life on the line to save her and then dedicated his life to becoming strong enough to protect her. The antithesis of his promise to be there for her and the feelings behind it. “Cloud” and “Tifa’s killer” cannot coexist. “Cloud,” the boy defined by a desire to protect Tifa, cannot survive this. That’s why Sephiroth is trying so hard to get Cloud to kill Tifa. Sephiroth could kill her himself and that would still be majorly bad for Cloud’s true identity as he’d still lose his only tether to reality and the symbol of his conscience. But it wouldn’t be as effective as having Cloud do the honors. Sephiroth needs Cloud to kill the light in his own heart. He needs Cloud to kill his self. And there is no more definitive way than this.

Both of them are songs that are angry at the world for it's societal norms and how it pushes down indeviduality. Both of them have meta-commentary about the musical landscape (Maiki-P's obvious but like Syudou referencing Sand Planet in the song)

Both of the card sets for the event have Mafuyu and Rui just kinda looking...dead inside. For Mafuyu we know why, but there is no reason why Rui has such a dark expression.

Both of them are restricted as well, Rui's voice being silenced with the mask and Mafuyu being controlled by strings.

as far as we know these wildlings are stranded in braavos? they don't speak the language. they are separated from their people and homeland. just like arya. ive considered before the possibility that arya brings them back north with her. which i realized has parallels to dany in agot

dany intervenes with the taking of these women as slaves and brings them under her protection - to the best of her ability. which was only the beginning of dany's movement in essos to challenge the institution of slavery. but just as important is that this was where dany really starts to take control of her own destiny. in agot she goes from child to (young) woman and a leader in her own right. she becomes who she is meant to be: the mother of dragons, breaker of chains, ect.

i think becoming who she is meant to be will be arya's arc in twow.
