the thing i love about bill cipher is that even after i've learned all of this stuff about him, seen him at the most vulnerable he'll ever get, seen him at his most innocent, i still can't give a flying fuck about trying to justify his actions. yes he's traumatized, yes he was twisted into what we know today, and while it gives a semblance of context to why he did what he did, it doesn't matter. he still ruined ford's life. he still drove and baited multiple humans to suicide. he still tormented every human he saw as his ticket out of the consequences of his own actions. he still took delight in his actions. he was willing to commit genocide for fuck's sake!!! (freezing all of the humans into statues). trying to explain away what he did does not get rid of what he did, but it certainly puts it in perspective. you won't be catching me being a bill apologist any time soon <3

Hi gay people in my phone I'm thinking about how Lip has lines like "like my life isn't a complete fucking waste" and "I don't know how to be with myself" and "how am I supposed to make it?". And him struggling with the death of his friend, and him struggling with everything with Karen, and him getting raped by his girlfriend, and him getting sexually assaulted multiple times in the show. there being lines about how alcoholism isn't his problem it's the other stuff going on with him. The sudden, violent snippets we see of Lip's childhood trauma snap back up to the surface while he fails to cope with them. how he is always in the caretaking role.

just, how every time he's at his lowest, we never see his family find out about it. they don't know what Mandy did to Karen. What Mandy did to him. They don't know the insane dynamics between Lip and both his professors. Or when he got black out drunk and broke into a house. They never knew he was put in jail because they never answered his phone call. Or that time Lip was homeless and sleeping on the L. Him getting drunk and getting beat up to cope with everything. We see him barely functioning again and again and again. the show says says all of this and then goes "he needs to get out of his way 😘🫶💫" as the final parting words on his character.

just so you know, i feel like the universe itself didn't want me to write his voice drama. the power went out like two times while i was trying to write it, uni is killing me and i also had to rewrite his voice drama multiple times.

i'll be so surprised if anyone votes him innocent tbh 😭😭 the original version of his voice drama was supposed to make him look more sympathetic, but that scene was deleted because 1) his vd would end up being way too long and 2) i had to stop myself from revealing too much kei lore, like this is only the first trial! the original version was also supposed to reveal more information about kei and eiji's parents and i also had to delete that, again, it would just be too long and it would look like i was trying to give you reasons to vote him innocent. (and i'm not doing that! do what you want with him <3)

also this voice drama mentions those other crimes kei committed before milgram and. um. yeah, they're bad. i don't want to spoil anything, so just know that there will be mentions of torture, they're not detailed though. there's also a mention of kei getting injured thanks to eiji. again, it's not detailed and the injury isn't that serious. (also warning for kei refusing to accept that eiji and miki are not a couple and just being his usual self. you know what i mean /lh)

Kei: .. I wouldn't say that. It's actually better for his identity to stay unknown.

Miki: Why though?

Eiji: Because that friend of our father is a criminal who kidnaps people and tortures them.

Eiji: A-and then Kei takes photos of them while he does so and that man either keeps the photos for himself or sells them to other.. monsters like him.

Miki: .. What?

Kei: Man, when you say it like that, it sounds like something illegal. Just so you know, all of my.. uh, "models" are still alive!

Eiji: Yeah, they're alive, but I'm sure most of them are now missing at least one body part!

Kei: Hey, it's not my fault that people like those photos so much. I just do it for the money, it's not like I have a choice-

My issues with S3 is that Disney’s veto against darker stories made O&Y break up the otherwise great flow of S3A: people always bring up Spider-S/HHP as rep of all of 3A instead of sacrifices the crew made to get their angsty episode. I also don’t think enough time was spent exploring post-TC Amphibia in S3B; it felt like the same setting but with a palette change. Also, I don’t like how Sprigs birthday telescope wasn’t brought back, and I felt like they downplayed Anne’s snarkiness in 3B.

tbh yea I think these are p valid issues to have! and definitely most of it is bc of Disney being a little bitch I'd imagine. I remember Matt in one of the post-s3 interviews said they were ALWAYS pushing to make Amphibia darker, and Disney would almost always strike their ideas down in favor of making the show more lighthearted. it would explain why Olivia & Yunan is just so tonally off compared to all the other s3a eps, and it would explain why they weren't able to expand more on post-TC Amphibia like u said. I believe Andrias was supposed to be missing the entire lower half of his body in All In after Anne defeats him; that obviously didn't happen. it's cool to hear abt though bc that leaves me wondering if the fan theories abt Sasha losing an eye would've actually happened (I would also say Anne losing an arm but. I think her dying and coming back as a clone and also the next god is pretty um. Severe). and then as far as the telescope and Anne personality thing yeah I think those are just writing things😔 but again they were working on such a time crunch, I really would kill to hear abt all the things they had to cut out bc I bet it's a gold mine
