now i know we’re all basically in agreement abt alberto’s dad being named bruno, right? but i have a further theory.

so we already know beto’s been living on the island and just stopping into the water to collect things for his tower. he’s also noticeably darker than luca, implying his human skin has had more time to naturally tan over the years, supporting the idea of him not actually living in the water.

so what would make beto live on the island, away from his fellow sea monsters? what would cause him to not only live as a human, but be fixated on human life?

a human dad.

now, hear me out.

beto mentions how his dad has been to the human city. this isn’t unusual for some sea monsters as we’ve now seen, but him having gone intentionally without beto felt a little bit strange to me.

then we get to the first silenzio bruno quote.

“alberto you can’t, alberto you’re gonna die, alberto don’t put that in your mouth!!”

the first and last one especially look like something a parent would say, but the middle one felt a little weird in the same context.

now this could also easily be a worried sea monster parent, but what if beto wanting to join his dad in the human world is why his father felt so adamant on hiding him and being strict? what if beto’s fixation comes from wanting to be closer to his dad in a way he’s unable to?

it would explain why he pretends to be an expert, why his dad knew so much, how he was able to get so many trinkets (especially a fully functional sonograph), why he lived on land but on an isolated island with many good hiding spots, how he got the tower (maybe his father was a sailor and went to investigate the old lighthouse?) etc.

now, all of this so far has been speculation, but i’m gonna get even more speculative with what i imagine the narrative spin in this scenario would plausibly be.

beto’s dad was a boater of some kind. someone, maybe his crew mates, killed beto’s birth parents. he takes pity on the baby and hides it from his crew (this death of two new parents could be part of the reason luca’s mom is terrified for him; the baby who was “mercilessly killed” would’ve been his age now. this might be a stretch though).

he secretly raises the monster on a secluded island in an abandoned lighthouse, teaching him about the human world and all he’s learned from his years on the sea. the kid falls in love with the human world and, in an attempt to be closer to his father, starts to explore it.

his father starts to get angry with him as each attempt to learn gets more dangerous. he could never stay long as people would get suspicious, but when he was there, time started to be taken up by yelling at beto for being rash and putting his life in danger.

one day, he leaves and doesn’t come back. he couldn’t handle the risk anymore. maybe he had kids of his own, kids beto could never be. maybe he died with his secret, protecting his only son. beto would never know anything past his father believing he was old enough to be smart, and never returning to him.

so, alberto takes this newfound betrayal from a father who was never here and does what kids do best: turns him into an imaginative concept.

and when he has the chance to have a human father again, it feels all too familiar. and yet, it’s so much better than it ever was. no secrets, no restrictions, no hiding, no pretending. no bruno.

just love.

from when they were a baby, alejandro has only his father as a villain and a member of the flash rogues. 

the rogues have and always will be his family and his greatest boon in life

not that he’d say anything to any of them. alejandro is very much in the “... you’re alright, i guess” club of showing affection.

believes very strongly that if you cannot pronounce their name right, you don’t deserve to speak it

is generally all “gender is fake” and really just hates naming their gender so i made the executive decision For them

absolutely loves movies and cinematography. don’t know where he gets that from but he just. Loves.

they’re a movie snob tbh. will critique your movie choice from where he sits in his projection room

also... life snob tbh. has little good to say about a lot of things.

has her own weather wand! can control the weather like their dad but also the clouds talk to them so thats. not That fun

talkative as hell? will not shut up and will ramble about... Anything

is in it (life) for the aesthetic. 

sarcastic as hell and hard to get along with if you don’t get his humor and speed of dialect. he’ll try to slow down and parse it but it doesn’t always help. makes for some great interactions tbh

an actually really hard worker? but makes jokes abt being lazy and wanting to be in bed so it’s? fully just a front. loves working. loves it.

also loves pastel colors and aesthetic pretty lights... so very much of his era

oh but he’s still a rogue like, they WILL maim/murder you if they gotta. mostly just steals tho.

takes a little bit for ale to be provoked bc she likes staying in her lane.

lives with the other flash rogues because she complained until they buckled (like there was any resistance in the first place; ale just likes creating drama where there isn’t any)

ex who hates him: please. i have no idea How they couldve even gotten together in the first place but in the aftermath, they would just argue and hate each other. indubitably.

ex who likes him??: would be hilarious tbh

other weather kids: bc come on. how fun would it be to just all make a storm together?

cinema customer he gets into regular movie arguments with: what it says on the tin. straight up old fashioned arguing over movies and their merits. 

craigslist date: could totally see al offering up services to be like, a date to take home to your parents so you arent alone. he can be charming. very charming.

on/off relationship:  alejandro is a very complicated person to get along given how argumentative and prideful they are so i'd imagine that if they ever found their match in these, all hell would break loose. this connection would be that — a very hot/cold/hot again deal where they both know they're horrible but trade days in liking, tolerating, actually listening to each other, and hating, arguing, yelling at each other. i'd like it if it's been ongoing for a year / a few months now!

just, honestly, bring me the most oddball connections. like, someone who bumped into them at starbucks and he got into a scene w/ or someone they got into an argument at yankee candle with. weird things. any Things.
