Okay so I’ve been wanting to create a fancast centering around this series for a long time because these books are everything to me and so are the characters. I hope you enjoy it and please remember that everyone has different opinions :) Stay tuned for more fancasts to come!

Clary Fray (Lily Collins)

Lily is and always will be my Clary. She’s fierce, strong, effortlessly beautiful, and she is an incredible actress. We saw how well she portrayed Clary in the movie and there’s no doubt in my mind that she would’ve handled the rest of the series just as well

Jace Herondale (Alex Pettyfer)

JUST. LOOK. AT. THIS. BOY. Alex is Jace. He is everything I associate with Jace. He has those gorgeous blonde curls. He has that “I’m better than you” arrogance about him. He’s able to play the serious character but also the funny, sarcastic character. If he would’ve accepted the role as Jace in the movie, I honestly believe that City of Ashes would’ve happened.

Simon Lewis (Nat Wolff)

Simon was probably the first fancast I figured out. As soon as I opened City of Bones, Nat’s face immediately popped into my head as Simon. Funny, sarcastic, nerd hot. Don’t @ me

Isabelle Lightwood (Phoebe Tonkin)

Isabelle was a tough one for me to figure out. Think about it, Izzy is basically a goddess. But after I watched Vampire Diaries, I realized that if anyone could bring Izzy to life on the screen it would be Phoebe. Gorgeous, badass, she’d slice your arm off w that whip and look flawless doing it.

Alec Lightwood (Matthew Daddario)

Matt has the look of Alec, there is no doubt about it. And with more practice, I’m sure he could get the acting down too.

Magnus Bane (Godfrey Gao)

Harry Shum Jr does a great job as everyone’s fave warlock but Godfrey has my heart. He is my Magnus, I don’t know what more to say.

the world of Cassandra Clare is perhaps one of the most complex and extensive fictional worlds out there.It has the perfect amount of humor and utopia that is needed to form a expanding world like it is.This list is how in my opinion the Shadowhunter Characters would look like in live-action.I used some characters from the show but most of them i have picked by myself.

Clary Fray

In the books clary id described as being petite and rather mundane looking and therefore lacks the certain confidence most shadowhunters her age posses.I feel like Elle Fanning (in the movie Ginger and rosa) resembles Clary the most (minus the freckles) i never really understood what people saw in Lily Collins as far as looks go and regarding katherine mcnamara i think she fits Clary more then lily ever did however Ellie Fanning in Ginger and Rosa will always be my top pick!

Jace Herondale

Alex Pettyfer is considered the most common pick for book fans and i don’t think i really need an explenation here.I MEAN LOOK AT HIM HE IS JACE PERIOD.He is everything Cassie described Jace to be and i will never change my mind ty

Alec Lightwood

I loved Matthew Daddario as Alec in the show and even tho he doesn’t have blue eyes like book Alec i didn’t find myself minding that he plays the brooding shadowhunter perfectly :))

Isabelle Lightwood

Same goes for Izzy  Emeraude Toubia is the spitting image of izzy in my opinion and  she did an a great job playing her :)))))))))))))

Magnus Bane

Just like the lightwood siblings i think Harry Shum jr really nailed the magnus vibe that godfrey gao just didn’t in the movie he couldn’t be a better magnus and matty and harry will always be my #malec 

Simon Lewis

I LOVE ALBERTO RESENDE IN THE SHOW he just nails simon personality and look wise and im really glad the producers picked him :))

Valentine Morgenstern

OKAY SO SMALL RANT FOR A MINUTE in the books Valentine is described as having :  sharp features, an almost triangular face with a hard, pointed chin, black eyes, and HAIR IT WAS SO FAIR NEARLY WHITE!! he wasn’t bald like he is shown in the show and he did not look like a pirate as shown in the movies HE LOOKED SOMETHING LIKE THAT ^^^^^.Don’t get me wrong im all for small changes here and there and in my opinion i consider open to book to movie and book to show changes i feel like a a live version adaptation should change some things here and there but i just cringe everytime i watch the movie and as far as acting goes ALAN VAN SPRANG FROM THE SHOW IS AMAZING but look wise no.
