Another week of @slayerkitty and I getting in our clown car and getting lost in this "Hidden" Agenda

Why did this episode feel so strange?!

Why is Joke so intense all the time?

We are about to rewatch this entire series because the math just ain't mathing. Director Tee stays throwing wild plot pivots at us (freshy contest, stalker, Puen, Wave x Trin). We know this! This isn't our first rodeo, but something is not right here with Joke.

He didn't want to spend his birthday with his family. Zo had to push him to go home rather than stay with him after they won. Nobody responded to Joke's texts. He was crying watching videos of his mom and grandma being proud of him. He only chills with his grandma. AND he is always in hyper-protective mode over Zo.

Kitty, set the GPS! We got a week to get this figured out! Is Joke a stalker? Did a dear friend of his die? Or are we just like totally buggin'?

Been feeling hella depressed/unmotivated when it comes to volatile once again.

I thought I would feel better if I got the rest of the chapter out there but it just made me feel worse to a point where I don't even wanna open my game anymore.

Truth is while I have some general outlines, there's a looot of filler, or moments where I just don't quite know how to get to a certain story point, which causes me to spend like a year brooding over scenes and never really getting anywhere and then posting some half assed shit that makes me feel like I wrote myself into a corner or like I should've done more with a specific scene, etc.

I don't know what the hell I'm doing and right now I don't really like the direction I'm going with Volatile. Feels similar to when I first tried to post it back in 2018 and gave up for similar reasons.

Idk, It's just frustrating, I feel like I want to create and express something in a certain way but I lack the artistic and writing abilities, not to mention the ability to make my game and characters look up to standard.

So yeah, not sure how to proceed with Volatile. Guess I'll wait it out until I feel a bit better again.

I do follow her on spotify, but I don't always listen (depends what I have in queue, the topic, etc). I *did* listen to that ep, though, and I disagreed with pretty much all of it MAINLY because you can't have it both ways, i.e., you can't say here's all this gryles proof, here's all this swiftgron proof, then dismiss larry or kaylor when it's the exact same amount of evidenceTM. Like, I'm all for reaching, reach away! But when you're matching, then match it! If it's fandom bullshit, call it as such, but where there's that much smoke, there's at least a wee bit of fire!

"He was doomed by the narrative" yeah and? He ain't special, I can doom anyone by the narrative if I wanna. I can just make up a guy and make a narrative specifically around dooming him. Sealing him to his fate.

I can make a guy make all the right decisions that you would ever want to make in any given situation and still fuck him over in the end. I can make a guy who prides himself on making all of the right decisions when he goes into any situation, being the most pragmatic practical rational and reasonable person. And then I can hit you with the bombshell that he's not actually living his life nor is he happy because he's too hyper focused on making all the right decisions in any given situation but he doesn't give himself any space or room to breathe or actually enjoy life because he's too busy being right.

There you go doomed by the narrative. He will never be happy. Someone else could come along who doesn't focus on that at all and just kind of bumbles through every single situation and things just kind of turn out okay and they could be living a grand happy amazing life and their half-assed and emotional decisions could put them above and beyond pragmatic dude the whole time cause he's actually just chilling and vibing and living a good life. Instead of being focused on being right. Doomed.

And then you know what I could do?

I could have them fall in love.

I could have the pragmatic one the rational one the reasonable one slowly begin to loosen up and follow the happy one's advice. Not being focused on being so right all the time.

And then I can fucking kill the happy one.

Because of a mistake the rational one made. Because they were no longer focused on being right.

And that got the happy one killed.

Doomed.

Doomed to be pragmatic. Doomed to be rational. Doomed to be obsessive. Doomed to be anxious. Doomed to be unhappy.

Doomed.

And then I can really rub salt in the wound. I can set up a situation where he makes objectively the correct decision but someone comes along and makes a better decision. Not because he made the wrong decision no no no he made exactly the right decision that he should have made in that situation however he was in a situation where someone else could also make the right decision and fuck him over because that's how life works.

Doomed.

Now he's questioning himself. Has he ever made the right decisions? Is he capable of making the right decisions? What is the right decision in any given situation?

Sow the seeds of doubt into his mind.

Doomed.

And then I'll make him spiral.

He made all the right decisions and he still got fucked over. He decided to not go for exactly the right decision and he still got fucked over. So what does he do? Doomed if he does doomed if he doesn't.

So what does he do? Nothing.

He doesn't do anything. He doesn't make any decision. He just lets life take him wherever it wants.

But now? Now he's in some deep shit. Cause he stopped paying attention. So he stopped noticing when things started to get bad. And then they got worse. But he didn't make any decision to fix it. So it got worse.

Doomed.

And then he dies. Not a decision on his part. Didn't really have anything to do with him. But it ended his life.

Doomed.

It's easy to use a narrative to doom somebody.

You just make the outcome bad.

To do it well you got to explain it obviously.

But in the end there was only ever One path that he was going to go down and that was dying alone by something that was out of his control.

Dying alone by something that was absolutely within his control to fix he just stopped caring and stopped making decisions.

Y'all know why. I just explained why.

Cause he's doomed.

Lmao endgame ships aren't something you can both sides if a character is in both of them. If buddie is endgame then bucktommy by definiton isn't and vice versa.

Actually, this is the perfect thing to 'both sides' because it's two fictional ships on a fictional show. They're completely irrelevant and literally no harm whatsoever comes from thinking that both sides of the 'which two gays should kiss' debate make valid points.

The valid points being gays kissing.

You can tell by the reaction people have to Penelope asking Colin to kiss her whether they ever experienced being a wallflower/insecure fat girl at a party or not.

Because you say it's pathetic, I say it's relatable, no matter how desperate it may sound. If you've never had your insecurity eat you up from the inside (but also the outside, as Portia literally told Penelope that she was delusional for thinking she was gonna find a husband in her third season out) to the point you genuinely, wholeheartedly believe no one will ever love you unless you physically change, then obviously the scene is off to you.

But Pen literally told Colin she felt stupid for thinking she's gonna find a husband (she just started believing what the ton and her mother said) and that she knows no one would want to kiss her. And for a romance girl like her, do you think the thought of never having a kiss, never experiencing that passion, would be easy to bear? I can so relate to being the most romantic of the bunch but also being the loneliest and aching for physical and emotional romantic love.

She is so vulnerable and so real in that moment but y'all gotta bitch about it because it doesn't make sense to you. It doesn't make sense to me either because she's gorgeous, but that's the thing - no one ever told her she's gorgeous and actually meant it. And even if they did, there must be 10 more people who didn't that keep that insecurity in her, specifically her sisters and her mother.

Nicola said this one was for the wallflowers, and it truly is, so if you find scenes like this cringe, you just don't relate to the character enough to feel it and recall moments when you had the same thoughts as her.
