What was Stone's reaction like the first time Robotnik called him by his first name?
(If I'm not mistaken, the generally accepted headcanon from the community is that his first name is Aban, right?)

The first time? well, he wasn't happy
ko-fi
#ask ask ask#stobotnik#agent stone#doctor ivo robotnik#yep the fandom usually calls him aban#i'm team we don't get to know his name#i also like to think stone hates people knowing things about him.#no matter how big or small the information#robotnik of course knows this and is being evil about it#if we assume all of my precanon comics happen in the same universe#and we're doing that because why not#then this was before stone really warmed up to robotnik#which means he wants to kill him soooo bad#he won't though#now imagine post canon robotnik calling stone by his name#stone would melt

Still not over the head of cardiology, who said she wouldn't formally diagnose me with dysautonomia because she didn't want me to think of myself as disabled.
As if good vibes and a can-do attitude can stabalize autonomic dysfunction.

I don't care about data scraping from ao3 (or tbh from anywhere) because it's fair use to take preexisting works and transform them (including by using them to train an LLM), which is the entire legal basis of how the OTW functions.
#really tired of seeing posts warning people to archive lock their works to protect against scraping#information wants to be free and that includes your second person reader insert#you are of course welcome to archive lock the works#that's a function of ao3 for a reason#but the anti-scraping attitude is exhausting because it tells me#that the broad understanding of 'fair use' is dismal#which is depressing coming from the userbase of a site that is totally reliant on fair use

House MD depicts an autistic who has gotten insanely good at reading people and is just in too much pain to use it for social engineering much beyond his weird little pranks and machinations. my dad is this type of autist, i think of it as the Frasier Crane type as opposed to the Star Trek type. you know. capable of being jocular, jovial, charming, even seductive, but it requires so much bandwidth its still extremely taxing. i have been telling you on this blog for ten years that it is in your best interests to become jocular. it will stun you how much better you are at reading people than the majority of neurotypicals. there's no reason for them to get good at it when they dont even know what there is to get good at. microexpressions are real and i can see them
#blog#autism#of course you dont know whats going on you cant see anyones face!!! thats where all the information is#youre bad at reading people because it causes you physical pain to look someone in the eyes so of course youve had 1/1000th of the practice#this is due to the information overload#grit your teeth through it#they cant tell youre not smiling

so the anime adapted this
but didn't adapt this...?
ok, sure, let's make the already most shallow friendship in this manga even more of a yuri bait.
#i am not surprised tho the anime doesn't really care about aoi#did you see how long/full of budget the 'hanako possesses Nene and harras Aoi' scene was? while they refused to add even a quick slide show#to inform the audience that Aoi being popular fucked up her life to the point of being harrased AS A TINY KID?#they already used her for the 'there are hands in these pictures' exposition in season 1 and her feelings has 'no use' for the main trio#so way it goes!#if empty fanservice is the goal of course it is better to leave 'the important thing she have to say!' hidden#and keep anything about 'boys want her' only jokey to make people not think about hanako's actions too hard#it makes so much sense that it makes me depressed.#if we do reach the grim reaper arc in the future i do not have much hope for how they'll treat aoi story#tbhk#toilet bound hanako kun#jshk#jibaku shounen hanako kun

I actually cannot comprehend s5ep16 when Sam and Dean are in heaven and Ash is explaining how heaven works, and how in special cases people can share a heaven.
“Like soulmates.” Ash explains *meaningful eye contact*
Sam and Dean avoid each others eyes. Silence.
That’s fucking insane to me. It’s not even like a LITTLE bit subtext
#and of course in the beginning of the ep#where deans talking w cas#and cas informs him that he’s in heaven#and deans like ok well then where tf is Sam#no comprehensible version of heaven without sam exists in deans mind#anyways#spn#supernatural#s5ep16#dean winchester#sam winchester#ash#samdean#wincest

something i think about a lot and don't see discussed often in the silt verses are the narrative foils and parallels shared by the saint electric and VAL, particularly when it comes to their respective endings. a woman sacrificing her humanity in flames and undergoing apotheosis, elevated not merely to sainthood but ascended to godhood, and losing the entirety of herself in the process, becoming a product to be traded and sold, and a woman who sacrificed her humanity to be made into a commodity, a "valuable" weapon, finally rejecting her attempts to claim that same godhood in favour of reclaiming her personhood in a similarly fiery death. the peninsulan propaganda machine's greatest triumph, and its most damning defeat. the beginning and the ending of the same tragic story.
#🐉#VAL being the inevitable end result of what the saint represents - your willing sacrifice#for the benefit of everyone but yourself being deified ritualised and enshrined as an ideal to aspire to#the saint herself being just as much of a propaganda tool as VAL - and a significantly more effective one at that#(the monopoly the saint has in the peninsula; the majority of the information both the characters and we as audience receive#being conveyed via electrically powered devices; shrue suggesting drafting the saint as their representative god in their#reelection campaign and being told that 'she' (ie: the corporate interests she represents) doesnt get involved#in 'local elections or wars')#and the fact that we get a lot of insight into VALs interiority and personality while we can#only attempt to interpret a handful of actions or inaction by the saint - presented to us secondhand in accounts by other people - at best#because that is what it means to be a god. to be spoken about and prayed to but never spoken *with* or understood.#to be written about in so many words but never your own#to always be the last word on matters but never get to have it yourself#and of course theres the fact that theyre both women exploited as vessels for other peoples interests and values#- specifically those of the state and the corporate - but thats almost too implicitly obvious to merit highlighting#the silt verses#VAL thesiltverses#i dont have a saint electric tag. im sorry women.

sometimes i ponder about the wild fuckshit I've done so far in my life and still nothing rings as pure odd to me as the time I was barbacking/bussing tables/line cooking at a bar in 2019 and met Jake the Snake Roberts on his Dirty Details comedy tour, not knowing anything about WWE at the time, but merely showing up to work one day to several bartenders fawning over a man holding a large snake
#i of course immediately moved to fawn over the snake you understand#WWE#i was having a definite skweezy jibbs moment and i regret to inform you all i dont have photos of this#the bar closed down#and that was like nearly six years and 2 phones ago

So I've said multipe times now (here and here) that thinking nmj is just so blinded by privilege he doesn't undertand that acting out of line gets people killed is, in my opinion, a misunderstanding of his character that ignores the part where he's, you know, actively dying the whole time and thinks that's a good thing. But that doesn't mean I don't think privilege plays no role at all in how he views the world.
Specifically, his view that death (at least premature or violent death) means something.
Death isn't always a tragedy to NMJ, but it is always meaningful. If you kill an evil dangerous person for your righteous cause, that death had meaning. There was evil in the world and now there is less of it. Similarly, if you die in the pursuit of your righteous cause, that death has meaning, because the sheer dedication you gave to it that you were willing to die for it will further that cause, and your bretheren will be invigorated by your sacrifice to fight even harder.
If a death isn't meaningful, that's an injustice and it is up to the living to give it meaning. That's what cuts so deep about his father's murder. There were no consequences, no changes, no meaning. Wen Ruohan was just going to get away with it! He fights and wins an entire war to make it mean something, to make it so that the unjust murder of Nie Mingjue's father is part of Wen Ruohan's downfall.
But this is a view he can only hold because he's the kind of person who's death will be meaningful. Most ordinary people's deaths are meaningless. Not ontologically, not inherently, but they are made meaningless because no one cares. For death to be meaningful you either have to be so powerful that anything you risk your life for will be impacted in some way. (Like, say, if you sacrifice a long life for immense martial power in a faustian bargain with a blade) Or if people with that kind of power care enough about you to do so for you. For most people, this isn't true. A starving street kid has no power to change the unfair world that put them there, even if they risk their life trying, and no one will do it for them once they die.
Nie Mingjue knows this in abstract, and of course rightfully believes it's wrong. But all that does is make it yet another righteous cause people should be willing to die for. Everyone's deaths should mean something, we'll make it so or die trying!
This is what the conflict between nieyao is about at its core. Because Jin Guangyao, fundamentally, cannot conceive of his own death as meaningful. Nie Mingjue grew up around powerful men who could change the world but refuse to do so because god forbid they risk a single hair on their perfect heads. Meng Yao, on the other hand, grew up in an environment where no one of importance would blink twice if you died. He was surrounded by meaningless death. Indeed his entire early life is defined by that lack of care.
Meng Shi dies and no one cares. Meng Yao gets thrown off a flight off stairs and no one cares. He has to be the one to do the caring, and once he's gone no one else will do it for him.
So he has to live.
Jin Guangyao eventually gets far enough that he actually does aquire the power to change some things... as long as he's alive. If he changes too much, holds on too tightly to his ideals, he'll die and it'll all be for nothing. He can't sacrifice himself for his goals because doing so would immediately render those goals unobtainable. No one will care about what he tried to do. He won't be a heroic sacrifice, he'll just be trash that finally cleaned itself up.
And well... Nie Mingjue dies, and someone makes it mean something. Makes it mean so much that the entire story of mdzs would not exist without it. Jin Guangyao dies and it doesn't mean anything. Most people are glad to be rid of him, and the few that are not don't do anything to change that.
#mdzs#mdzs meta#nie mingjue#jin guangyao#meng yao#nieyao#of course the inherent tragedy is that nmj is totally THE guy to ask if you want your death to mean something#nmj's reaction the the fact that most ppl's deaths are meaningless is to go: yes and I should change this.#If everyone thought like me this wouldn't happen anymore I simply need to get EVEN MORE HARDCORE about justice to MAKE them care#and this quality- which makes him the one person perhaps capable of making jgy's death mean something- also makes him a threat to his life#so jgy kills him because he needs to live. And then his beliefs about the meaninglessness of his own death are doomed to be true#what else was he supposed to do? just die and TRUST that someone would make it mean something?#like his mother trusted that his father would come back for them?#of course he can't do that.#just like how nmj's upbringing means that by the stairs he can't see how jgy- son of a sect leader and extremely capable-#is any different from the men who wrung their hands and told him that wen ruohan is just *too powerful* they can't do anything about him.#(*guy who killed wrh and wil go on to kill jgs voice* i just can't do anything about my dad being evil)#if jgy had agreed to risk his life and asked nmj to make it mean something if he died nmj would have said yes.#which is why he can't understand jgy wouldn't just ASK that.#jgy meanwhile has not been informed that was a fucking option and if he was wouldnt be able to trust that it'd actually happen.#for reasons outlined above#ahhh tragedy and inability of characters to understand each other i love you

#undertale yellow#uty#lucky clover au#clover uty#starlo uty#orion uty#ceroba uty#frisk ut#flowey ut#the cowboy hat draws#Just barely got out before the Tomorrow (technically today in my time zone)#Sorry this is a mile long post. I really ought to invest in smaller comics LOL#Uh so! This was to show a bit more of Flowey's role in this AU#Trying to bridge the writing between him in UTY/UT so he's a bit more involved and proactive here#The little devil on Frisk's shoulder. Eventually one of these humans will make it to the castle to get Flowey his souls right?#Obviously there are some inaccuracies or information that contradicts what happens in UT#But that kind of comes with the territory of bridging a canon game and a fanon prequel that also takes liberties with the plot and lore LOL#Hopefully I'm telling enough of a compelling story to make up for it!#Tried to practice grayscale again and fiddled with some paneling practice. Definitely could've pushed it more but it was good practice!#Still debating on how best I want to present this comics so you know LOL#Important detail to me specifically; Ceroba is Frisk's favorite no contest. Starlo is only a little jealous#Other important detail to me: Matching Sunnyside overalls. Of course Crestina made a pair for Clover <3#Other lore tidbits but hopefully they're noticeable on their own!#Glad I could push this comic out before you know what tomorrow LOL

Does Blitz blame himself for Cash's abuse?
Stick with me, and I'm truly sorry.
All of the people except Cash featured in the memories Rolando shows Blitz are people who Blitz has cared deeply for and felt like he hurt, failed to get close to, or let down.
Let's look at them (again, yes)
Tilla
Fizz
Verosika
Loona
M&M
Barbie
A whole lot of Stolas
So. What. The. Actual. Fuck. Is Cash Fucking Buckzo. Doing in this line-up?
Well. Hurting Blitz, horribly. My first meta on this scene didn't really capture this, but as many have pointed out, this is Cash grabbing Blitz's freshly burned wrist after the fire and smacking the ever living shit out the burned side of his face. Presumably blaming him for the fire and everything (and everyone) lost from it. And then Cash telling Blitz in the hospital that Fizz doesn't want to see him.
It's emphasized too. Right after we see the memory of Cash hitting Blitz, we see Blitz physically flinch while watching it.
So if this is just a compilation of horrible memories, maybe that's all there is to it.
But if it's a grouping of the people Blitz cares for, well . . . it makes sense for it to be that, doesn't it? Blitz has a lot of love in him, and yet he's scared of intimacy. His trauma is ABOUT hurting people, losing people, driving people away, craving closeness that he can't have . . .
Being an abuse victim is complicated. Being a family scapegoat is complicated too. A lot of abusers try to make the victim think that they're ACTUALLY the cause of their pain and everyone else's, and we already know that Cash did this to Blitz (literally in this same set of memories in the hospital).
But we also saw it in The Circus when Blitz was much younger, and saw how much this tactic got to Blitz.
Cash guilts his son into going into a dangerous situation for him. If Blitz doesn't do this, their lack of resources, the possible suffering of his parents . . . it will all be Blitz's fault.
And Blitz cares deeply (he always has!), so he does it.
Now one might argue that Blitz says "of course I want to help Mama" here and leaves Cash out of his reply, so he doesn't love his father. But reality is often more complicated than that. He's upset here that Cash is forcing this on him. Cash hurts him. His mother (seemingly) offers much more love. That doesn't mean that Blitz doesn't ALSO feel some care and responsibility for his father's wellbeing.
I think that Blitz believes (or at least a significant part of him believes) that he destroyed Cash's life too with the fire, and that he deserved that beating and being turned away from the hospital and possibly many of the beatings and beratings that Cash delivered in the past. I think that in the moment when Cash grabbed him, he felt that he fully deserved the agony he felt when Cash held his wrist.
I think a part of him loved his father growing up and still loves him-- that there were moments between the incidents of cruelty where they had fun together as a family, and where looked up to his dad and wanted desperately to win his approval.
I think that Blitz has a lot of anger toward Cash too, and that a part of him always knew that Cash was wrong to hurt him. He had a whole lot of resilience and defiance in him even as a young kid.
I think that he felt guilty for all of the times he felt angry at his father. I think he might still.
I'm off to cry and then grab my pitchfork and storm wherever Cash is living nowadays. Who's with me?
#my personal trauma didn't inform this at all nooooooo of course not what are you talking about#Clawing at the walls#blitzo buckzo#blitz#blitzo#cash buckzo#helluva boss#my helluva meta#helluva boss analysis#ghostfuckers#ghostfuckers spoilers#cash fucking buckzo >:(#tw: abuse
