Chapter 79 - Translation Error
“Thank you, sir.  You’ve been most generous in hosting us during these exchanges,”  says Coleman Kcaj, the Jedi Master.
The Yrashu elder he is talking to doesn’t give any signs of recognition to what is being said.  R2-D2, their droid escort, steps up.  It is again time for him to facilitate communication.
When R2’s Master left him, he was ordered to help Rebel Techs with their daily chores around the Base on Yavin.  R2 was happy to do this, really.  The techs were nice, if a little dumb, and they really needed his help.  But that got boring.  His servers were craving something new.  An adventure.  So when he found out that the techs were working on creating a droid translator to send with the Jedi Negotiation team to Beskarn, well, R2 just had the best idea ever!
Modifying his systems to translate the language was easy.  There was already a program that did that on the Alderanean servers.  Installing it on his servers was easy!   Even a Toddler could do that.  Devising a way to “speak” the translation took a little more planning.  Unlike C3-PO, R2-D2 lacks a vocal processor, and he couldn’t trust the primitive natives to the planet they were on to be able to understand Binary.  In the end, he went with another device, networked to his systems.
R2-D2 uses these systems to translate the words the Jedi just said.  Of course, being a translator droid isn’t as easy as plug and play.  The word for Sir, alone, has several different options in the Yrashu language.  But R2 selects the one logic tells him is best, and he sends the message along.
The speaker device Master Coleman is holding activates “Moo-ma vlox wham.  Agotta toga-ram jrap pama nomoclan.”
He was rewarded a few moments later, when Sahnmaro Voy, the chieftain’s brother who was their host for the past week, gave them a smile.  His face then turned serious.  “Yill ibba kenedaro? Mun-momu Vem o lom Ug ushko.”
R2 perks up.  It is for translating sentences like this one that he was brought along, instead of a simple translation computer.  The word “Mun-momu” for instance could mean flood, it could also mean proving grounds or a chance for success.  R2 chooses this last definition.  They are exchanging pleasantries.  It’s unlikely to mean anything else.
R2 sends his translation and it comes out of the device.  “Where is your youngling?  She will find success in the jungle today.”
Coleman bowed his head in return to the kind words, and he answered the first question.  “My Padawan went to deliver a message to our people.  She will be back in a few days.”
R2-D2 translated the message and Sahnmaro looked at them in surprise.  Then he bowed his head and mumbled something to one of his people.  Something about praying for the young one’s successful completion of her “momu.”  The word worried R2 for a second.  It was not in the translator, but then he shook it off.  He was not asked to translate that sentence afterall.
R2 beeped an unnecessary pleasantry to the native who didn’t understand it, and followed his Jedi.  Internally, he praised himself for doing such a satisfactory job.  “I don’t know what C3-PO complains about so often.  This is the easiest job ever!   And I did it without snark.  Well, alright.  Maybe a little snark, but only in the right places,” R2 beeped to himself.

Studying Watts to replay his message
So it turns out all that I'm doing here is trying to get the message out, the message that was already crafted by the greatest word technologist to ever live. The polarity message. The nature message. The money and class and wealth message. The message about being a civilized social unit of people, not individual nomadic clans at war with one another. My Narration stream idea was only abstract at first, but now I have done several streams and studied some of the messages about declining the social status game in order to fully embrace our inseparability from nature. The message about Society, Nature/Mankind unity, Trust/Love, Money/economy and class / the social game as pertains to Zen as the full exit from that version of the game of life is what I need to replay to my friends and followers, and to a society whose authority I refuse, in search of educational sovereignty. I have clarified the opening module to be directly focused on my GRIPE with a society that demands we subscribe to the king-grandfather obsession of social structure with Authority coercion built in to the minimum transaction. Here I am gathering transcripting so that the totality of that message in his words can be brought together in a single post that I can share with my friends who I am not able to go directly to and live share the hours of content that this comprises, with my own commentary and interaction with them. The talk titles as they exist in my youtube playlists is as follows 1- The spectrum of love https://www.alanwatts.org/1-5-7-spectrum-of-love/ - Trust (Life is willingness to die) https://www.organism.earth/library/document/trust Interlude / tangent - Zen tales and legends -- zen poetry / interlude with some musical aspects, helps establish the ground for the conclusion items. filler info. 2- Words and emptiness talk - if you don't use words, you don't have any problems. the big problem here is that we are bewitched by words, there is actually only one Thing. one ultimate suchness, which is nature. The reality that is nature. all religious/philosophical problems are problems created by words. 3- the talk that goes into man's inseparability from nature and the defuse of aggression as the way of conveying manliness. "And the great symbols of our culture are the rocket and the bulldozer. The rocket--you know, compensation for the sexually inadequate male. So we're going to conquer space. You know we're in space already, way out. If anybody cared to be sensitive and let outside space come to you, you can, if your eyes are clear enough. Aided by telescopes, aided by radio astronomy, aided by all the kinds of sensitive instruments we can devise. We're as far out in space as we're ever going to get. But, y'know, sensitivity isn't the pitch. Especially in the WASP culture of the United States. We define manliness in terms of aggression, you see, because we're a little bit frightened as to whether or not we're really men. And so we put on this great show of being a tough guy. It's completely unnecessary. If you have what it takes, you don't need to put on that show. And you don't need to beat nature into submission. Why be hostile to nature? Because after all, you ARE a symptom of nature. You, as a human being, you grow out of this physical universe in exactly the same way an apple grows off an apple tree. So let's say the tree which grows apples is a tree which apples, using 'apple' as a verb. And a world in which human beings arrive is a world that peoples. And so the existence of people is symptomatic of the kind of universe we live in. Just as spots on somebody's skin is symptomatic of chicken pox. Just as hair on a head is symptomatic of what's going on in the organism. But we have been brought up by reason of our two great myths--the ceramic and the automatic--not to feel that we belong in the world. So our popular speech reflects it. You say 'I came into this world.' You didn't. You came out of it. You say 'Face facts.' We talk about 'encounters' with reality, as if it was a head-on meeting of completely alien agencies. And the average person has the sensation that he is a someone that exists inside a bag of skin. The center of consciousness that looks out at this thing, and what the hell's it going to do to me? You see? 'I recognize you, you kind of look like me, and I've seen myself in a mirror, and you look like you might be people.' So maybe you're intelligent and maybe you can love, too. Perhaps you're all right, some of you are, anyway. You've got the right color of skin, or you have the right religion, or whatever it is, you're OK. But there are all those people over in Asia, and Africa, and they may not really be people. When you want to destroy someone, you always define them as 'unpeople.' Not really human. Monkeys, maybe. Idiots, maybe. Machines, maybe, but not people. So we have this hostility to the external world because of the superstition, the myth, the absolutely unfounded theory that you, yourself, exist only inside your skin." ~Alan Watts. 4- the hypocrisy around money - the invention of system "economic utopia" is not wishful thinking - the system to distribute money for work done by machinery on the humans behalf is THE ONLY REAL ALTERNATIVE to self-destruction -- Finally I said, "The trouble with you gentlemen is you still think money is real.” And they looked at me and sort of said, "Oh ha ha ha, someone who doesn't think money is real. Cause everybody knows money is money and it's very important." But it just isn't real at all because it has the same relationship to real wealth, that is to say to actual goods and services, that words have to meaning - that words have to the physical world. And as words are not the physical world, money is not wealth. It only is an accounting of available energy - economic energy. Now what happens then when you introduce technology into production? You produce enormous quantities of goods by technological methods but at the same time you put people out of work. You can say, "Oh but it always creates more jobs. There will always be more jobs." Yes, but lots of them will be futile jobs. They will be jobs making every kind of frippery and unnecessary contraption, and one will also at the same time have to beguile the public into feeling that they need and want these completely unnecessary things that aren't even beautiful. And therefore an enormous amount of nonsense employment and busy work, bureaucratic and otherwise, has to be created in order to keep people working, because we believe as good Protestants that the devil finds work for idle hands to do. But the basic principle of the whole thing has been completely overlooked, that the purpose of the machine is to make drudgery unnecessary. And if we don't allow it to achieve its purpose we live in a constant state of self-frustration. So then if a given manufacturer automates his plant and dismisses his labor force and they have to operate on a very much diminished income, (say some sort of dole), the manufacturer suddenly finds that the public does not have the wherewithal to buy his products. And therefore he has invested in this expensive automative machinery to no purpose. And therefore obviously the public has to be provided with the means of purchasing what the machines produce. People say, "That's not fair. Where's the money going to come from? Who's gonna pay for it?" The answer is the machine. The machine pays for it, because the machine works for the manufacturer and for the community. This is not saying you see that a... this is not the statist or communist idea that you expropriate the manufacture and say you can't own and run this factory anymore, it is owned by the government. It is only saying that the government or the people have to be responsible for issuing to themselves sufficient credit to circulate the goods they are producing and have to balance the measuring standard of money with the gross national product. That means that taxation is obsolete - completely obsolete. It ought to go the other way. Theobald points out that every individual should be assured of a minimum income. Now you see that absolutely horrifies most people. “Say all these wastrels, these people who are out of a job because they're really lazy see... ah giving them money?” Yeah, because otherwise the machines can't work. They come to a blockage. This was the situation of the Great Depression when here we were still, in a material sense, a very rich country, with plenty of fields and farms and mines and factories...everything going. But suddenly because of a psychological hang-up, because of a mysterious mumbo-jumbo about the economy, about the banking, we were all miserable and poor - starving in the midst of plenty. Just because of a psychological hang-up. And that hang-up is that money is real, and that people ought to suffer in order to get it. But the whole point of the machine is to relieve you of that suffering. It is ingenuity. You see we are psychologically back in the 17th century and technically in the 20th. And here comes the problem. So what we have to find out how to do is to change the psychological attitude to money and to wealth and further more to pleasure and further more to the nature of work. And this is a formidable problem. It requires the best brains in public relations, in propaganda, in all that kind of thing, in all the media: television, radio, newspapers, everything...to try to get across a message to the vast general public about what money is. You see the difficulty is this. When the public suspects that the money that is being issued, the dollar bills being issued by the government are only paper, and stand only for paper, they start putting up prices so you get an inflationary situation where the more paper money there is, the higher and higher and higher the prices go… which is a very stupid psychological maneuver. And people have to be persuaded. The least effective way of persuading people is passing laws, but they have to be persuaded somehow not to put up the prices, but to play fair with each other and keep some sort of standard correspondence between how much is produced and how much credit is issued. - 5- escaping societies brainwashing the function of a Zen teacher is to put his students in all kinds of situations we're in the normal course of social relations they would get stuck by asking nonsensical questions by making absurd remarks by or always of unhinging things and above all keeping them stirred up with impossible demands: to hear the sound of one hand to without moving stop a ship sailing out on the water or to stop the sound of a train whistle in the distance magic- to touch the ceiling without getting up to amongst chair -to take the four divisions of Tokyo out of your sleeve -to take Mount Fuji out of the Kobach's all these impossible questions are asked and in the ordinary way of interpreting these questions we think well now be how could we do that? see that's the very difficult question that's been asked and you have to think what would I do to do that because we are caught up in a certain way of discourse which the language game that we play and the social game the production gains and the survival games that we play are good games but we take them so seriously that we think that that is the only important thing and this is to unstick us from that notion and realize that it would be just as good a game to drop dead now as to go on living is a lightning flash bad because it lives for a second as compared with the Sun that goes on for billions of years you can't make that sort of comparison because the world is like mingoes also with the world rebels of son and vice versa so long-lived creatures and shortness creatures go together that's the meaning of that saying flowering branches grow naturally some short some long so this n is a scene in in a zen community where the spontaneous behavior is encouraged within certain limits and as the student becomes more and more used to it those limits are expanded until eventually he can be trusted to go out on the street and behave like a true Zen character and get by perfectly well you know what occasionally happens on the street when two people are walking down the sidewalk straight at each other and they both decide to move to the right together and then to the left together and they somehow get stuck and they can't pass each other then teachers will pull just exactly that sort of stunt when going down a path and meet one of their students to see if they can get him in a tangle and can you escape from it and you will find in everyday life that there is a very clear distinction between people who always seem to be self possessed and people who are desiring and nervous and don't quite know how to react in any given situation always getting embarrassed because they have their life to strongly programmed you said I mean this is a common marriage argument you said you would do such and such a thing at such and such a time and now you've changed your plans not that they really the change of plans really caused any inconvenience just the feeling that when you say you will do something at a certain time you ought to do it at that time come hell or high water well that's being very unadaptable that's being a stone kind of sticky thing if it after all doesn't matter when we do it and as if somebody is offended because the time instant chase that's simply because they are attached to punctuality as a fetish and this is one of the great problems this is causes many automobile accidents men rushing home to be on time for dinner when they stayed late either working or they had to stop for a drink of some bar or when the girl feels that she has to if she has a fussy husband and she feels she has to have the dinner ready at exactly a certain moment she ruins the cooking he'd rather have a faithful wife and a bad cook how about not riding on your toes so you see we spend an awful lot of energy trying to make our lives fit images of what life is or should be which they could never possibly sit so then practice is in getting rid of these images but it's it's so explosive socially to do that and it's so various people they get vertigo they get dizzy they don't know which end is up and this happens you know if you've ever been in one of those blab blab sessions where they call them tea groups I think it's all something like that where the people gather together without any clear idea of what this gathering is about they know it's somehow self-exploration but just how do you begin on that and so somebody starts to push his idea and then somebody else says well why you tried to push your idea on us and then they all get into an argument about the argument and the most amazing confusion come about that sometimes they all see what idiots they're being and then they learn to live together in a they open and spontaneous way there was a very interesting dinner party once where the Zen master was present and there was a geisha girl who served so beautifully and had such style that he suspected she must have some Zen training and after a while he when she paused the silly sake cup he bowed to her and said I'd like to give you a present and she said I would be most honored and he took the iron chopsticks that are used for the hibachi with charcoal brazier moving the charcoal around he picked up a piece of red hot charcoal and gave it slip well she instantly she had very long sleeves on her kimono she weld the sleeves round her hands and took the hot charcoal withdrew to the kitchen dump it and changed her kimono because it was thought through then she came back into the room and after a suitable interval she stopped before the Zen master and bowed to him and said I would like to give you sir present I would be very much honored of course he was wearing a kimono or something like this and so she picked up a piece of coal I've offered it to him he immediately produced a cigarette and said thank you that's just what I need it now you know in the same way that we have this in our culture certain people who are communal who know how to make jokes and gags in a completely unprepared situation face them with anything and they somehow come through so that is exactly the same thing in a special domain as then only it will be master of them does this in every life situation but the important thing is to be able to do this this is the secret you must remember you can't make a mistake now that's a very difficult thing to do because from childhood up we have had to conform to a certain social game and if you'll go to conform to this game you can make mistakes or not make mistakes so this thing is gone into it all the time you must do the right thing there's certain conduct appropriate here a certain context appropriate there and that sticks in us and gives us a double self all our lives long because we never grow up! - --- you realize that the whole of life plays a game - which is a childhood game - **There are three kinds of people top people middle people of bottom people and there can't be any middle people and let's to the bottom people and top people accompany any top people unless to the middle and bottom people and so it goes and everybody's trying to be in a top set well if they're going to be there has got to be someone on the bottom set and the people who do the right thing and people do the wrong thing you hear in Sausalito we have this very very plainly there are the right people nice people who live up on the hill then there are the nasty people who live down here on the waterfront and they grow beards and they wear blue jeans and they smoke marijuana and whether the other people on the top of Hill Drive Cadillacs and have wall-to-wall carpeting and nicely mowed lawn and their particular kind of poison is alcohol now the people who live on the top of the hill know that they're nice people but they wouldn't know they were nice people unless they had some nasty people to compare themselves with every in-group requires an output whereas the nasty people think they are the real far-out people whereas those people those Hillbillies the squares and they wouldn't be able to feel far out unless there were squares see these things simply go together but when that is not seen we play the game of getting on top of things all the time and so we're in a constant state of competition as to if it's not I'm stronger than you it's I'm wiser than you I'm more loving than you I'm more tolerant than you I'm more sophisticated than you it doesn't matter what it is that this constant competition is going on in terms of that competition we can of course lose place and in that sense make mistakes but what a Zen student is is a person who is not involved in the status game that's the real meaning of a monk he is not keeping up with the Joneses and to be a master he must get to the point where he's not trying to be a master the whole idea of your your being better than anybody else simply doesn't make any sense at all it is totally meaningless because you see everybody manifesting the Marvel of the universe in the same way as the Stars do and the water and the wind and the animals and you see them all as being in their right places and not being able really to make mistakes although they may think they're making mistakes or not making mistakes and playing all these competitive games but that's their game now I only say if that game begins to boil and it begins to trouble you and give you alphas and all kinds of things then you raise the problem of getting out of it and therefore you start to become interested in things like then that is simply a symptom of your growing in a certain direction where you are tired of playing a certain kind of game you are as naturally flowing in another direction as if a tree were putting out a new branch so because you say oh well we people are interested in higher things you see that depends still on the differentiation of rank between the superior and the inferior people but when you begin to see through that and grow out of that you don't think anymore of this superior and inferior classification you don't think we are spiritual people who attend to higher things as distinct from these morons are only interested in beer and television this is simply our particular form of life like there are crabs and there are spiders and there are sharks and there are sparrows and so on the trouble with the human being is like the trouble with certain animals like the dinosaur who evolved to the point where he was so big did he have to have two brains a higher self in the head and a lower self in the rump and the difficulty was to get these two brains coordinated but we have exactly the same trouble and we are suffering from a kind of jitters that comes from being two brained now you see I'm not saying that that jitters is bad it's a potential step in evolution and an opportunity of growth but remember in the process of growth the oak is not better than the Acorn because what does it do it produces acorns or you could say just I like I sometimes enough to say that a chicken is one eggs way of becoming others so an oak is an acorn way of becoming other acorns where is the point of superiority the first verse of that time I just quoted the flowering branches grow naturally some short some long the first verse is in the landscape of spring there is nothing superior and nothing inferior the flowering branches are naturally some short some long so that's the point of view of being an outcast in the sense of being outside the taking seriously of being involved in the social game and therefore being threatened by making mistakes of doing the wrong thing that is to say of carrying into adult life one's childhood conditioning where somebody is constantly yammering at you to play the game so therefore the preachers and the teachers take the same attitude towards their adult congregation the parents take two children and lecture them and tell them what they should do and judges in courts feel also entitled to give people lectures because they say those criminal types haven't grown up but neither have the judges it takes two to make a quarrel so one can begin to think in a new way in the polarity thinking instead of being stuck with the competitive thinking of the good guys and the bad guys the cops of the robbers the capitalists and the Communists the all these things which are simply childishness now of course you recognize that if I at the moment I say that it's like talking in English in order to show that the English language has limitations and I am talking in a language that seems competitive to show that the competitive game has limitations if I was saying to all you cats here look I have something to tell you that if you get this you will be at a better position than you were before you heard it but I cannot speak to this group or the society or this language speaking culture without using the language the gestures the customs etc that you have the Zen masters try to get around this by doing things suddenly that people just don't get well what is this therefore that is the reason why this is a real reason why then cannot be explained you have to make as it were they jump from the valuation game of better people and worse people in-groups and out-groups and you can only make it by seeing that they all are mutually interdependent so if we take this situation let's say I would be talking to you and saying look I have some very special thing that you've got to take notice of therefore I am the in-group and I'm the teacher and you are the out-group I know perfectly well that I cannot be the teacher unless you come in and so that my estate is in my position is totally dependent on you it isn't something you see therefore I have first and then you get these things arise mutually so if you wouldn't come I wouldn't talk I wouldn't know what the same hahaha because I borrowed your language so that that is the insight that things go together then when you see that and aren't in competition then you don't make a mistake because you don't do this when I first learned the piano and played these wretched scales the teacher beside me had a pencil in my hand and she hit my fingers every time I made a lot wrong note consequent was I never learned to read music because I hesitated too long to play the note on time because I was always business if his pencil gonna land see that gets built into your psyche and so people are always although they're adults and nobody is clubbing them around and screaming at them any longer they hear the echoes of that screaming mama all that bum been aiding Papa in the back of their heads all their life long and so they adopt the same attitudes to their own children and the fast continues because there is no I mean I don't say that you shouldn't lay down the law to children if you want them to play the social game but you if you lay down the law to your children you must make provision later in life for them to be liberated to go through a process of curing them from the bad effects of Education but you can't do that unless you two grow up you see as we grow up as I including myself so that is the fig now therefore in the Zen scene you would think that the master as we know even as we read about him is an extremely authoritarian figure that's the way he deliberately comes on at the beginning he puts up a terrific show of being an awful dragon and this screams out all sorts of people who don't have somehow the nerve to get into the work but once you are in a very strange change takes place the master becomes the brother he becomes the affectionate helper of all those students and they love him as they would a brother rather than respect him as they would have father and therefore the students and masters they make jokes about each other they have a very curious kind of social relationship which has all the outward trappings of the authoritarian but everybody knows on the insides of that to joke liberated people have to be very cool otherwise in a society which doesn't believe in equality and cannot possibly practice it they would be considered extremely subversive therefore great their masters were purple and gold and carries scepters and fitted Thrones and all this carried on to cool it the outside world knows are there all right this has been their order they're perfectly fine

SMART BOMB
The completely unnecessary news analysis
by Christopher Smart
November 22, 2022
IN HEAVEN THERE IS NO BEER
If you are a sheikh from Qatar you can convince soccer's ruling body, FIFA, to award your tiny country the World Cup. You can buy a bunch of Airbus jetliners from France to capture its vote for the most prestigious soccer tournament in the world — only held every four years. And if that's not enough you can dump truckloads of cash on FIFA's driveway. Just pretend they didn't ask for it. It matters little that your country is mostly sand dunes where scorching summer temperatures can bake shawarma. It matters little that hundreds of foreign workers die during construction of World Cup facilities and stadiums. But don't under any circumstances ban beer from the matches. That could draw criticism from every corner of the globe and make FIFA look bad. That's right, Wilson, they could look bad for screwing up the beer. How do you expect European and American fans to watch a match without beer? It's insanity. Alcohol is not illegal in Qatar but drinking in public is. The sheikhs had 12 years to prepare but banned beer just two days before the kickoff. So organizers shifted gears and will serve non-alcoholic Bud Zero at the matches. Alaho Akbar (God is great). There may be plenty of virgins in Paradise — but there ain't no beer. And that friends is why we drink it here.
EATEN ALIVE: CRUEL AND UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT?
You are hereby sentenced to 1,000 mosquito bites. Imagine a judge meting out justice that way. Well, if the lawbreaker is sent to the new $1 billion Utah State Prison it won't be far from reality. Under the headline “Eaten Alive,” the Salt Lake Tribune reported that Department of Corrections officials didn't expect mosquitoes to be such a problem. But the staff here at Smart Bomb sure did as reflected in our July 19 edition: “[I]nmates took the scenic bus ride from Draper to the new joint on Mosquito Flats west of the airport.” (No applause, please.) Inmates and prison staff were covered in bites until the weather turned cold. The mosquitoes will be back in May but executives have yet to devise an abatement plan. One option would spray pesticides over the prison from airplanes — an added bonus to a stint at the big house. (Carcinogens, anyone.) Fact is, Corrections brass didn't have much choice but to move to mosquito habitat because the land under the old prison had become too valuable. “Visionaries” and their buddies on Capitol Hill have a great plan: A 600-acre “model live-work community” that would create 40,000 “great, cutting-edge jobs,” and a gold mine for a few on the ground floor — the ground floor in Draper, far, far away from Mosquito Flats.
LET THE INQUISITIONS BEGIN
Now that Republicans have taken control of the House, Americans can finally get what they really want: investigations of the Biden Crime Family — Hunter Biden, President Biden and his dog Major, who bites Republicans visiting the White House. There will be other probes, including one of the House Select Committee on Jan. 6 and where Liz Cheney gets her hair done; Attorney General Merrick Garland; FBI chief Chris Wray; and probably Ken Jennings and Jeopardy. These inquisitions are bound to pay dividends in lower gasoline prices, reduced inflation and interest rates, affordable housing and decreased carbon emissions — with luck, they will destroy Biden's socialist agenda for the underserved in health, education and economic opportunity. It's a whole new ballgame, folks, with cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and green energy. Leading the way will be the patriot from Ohio, Rep. Jim Jordan, who never wears suit coats because they make him look like a sleazy politician. Just because he called the story of a 10-year-old Ohio girl who got an abortion after she was raped, “another lie,” doesn't mean he's not a statesman. What is a statesman, anyway, but someone who screams at House committee witnesses. Hey, Dr. Anthony Fauci, better watch your six!
Post script — That'll just about do it for another fun-filled week here at Smart Bomb, where we keep track of Elon Musk so you don't have to. While he was giving the boot to 3,700 Twitter employees, Musk tweeted, let's make Twitter “maximum fun.” Right. Here's something from our “Life Elevated” - file: Frog eye salad has a special place in Utah lore. Last week Smart Bomb reported on psychedelic toads from the Sonoran Desert, but their eyes are not in most recipes for frog eye salad. No one is sure how it came about, but the buzz at Relief Society is that Latter-day Saint women concocted frog eye salad with saltpeter to keep their frisky husbands down on the farm — no pun intended. There's a mean joke that public schools have litter boxes in restrooms for kids wearing faux animal tails — but this is for real: Herschel Walker, the Georgia GOP candidate for Senate, said: “I don’t want to be a vampire anymore. I want to be a werewolf.” Can you beat that? Try this: Right-wing podcaster Ben Shapiro says Martians would be against same-sex marriage. “You could be a visitor from Mars and you could see that all of human procreation relies on man, woman, child.” He later said he hadn't actually talked to Martians but he's pretty sure Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito has.
Alright Wilson, we've finally come into some big news that the band knows something about — beer drinkin'. So maybe you and the guys can dish up one of your libation faves for those poor World Cup fans roasting roasting like shawarma in Qatar. Ready, OK, hit it:
I wasn't born for diggin deep holes I'm not made for pavin long roads I aint cut out to climb high line poles But I'm pretty good at drinkin beer So hand me one more That's what I'm here for I'm built for having a ball I love the nightlife I love my budlight I like 'em cold and tall I aint much for mowin thick grass I'm too slow for workin' too fast I don't do windows so honey don't ask But I'm pretty good at drinkin' beer A go getter maybe I'm not I'm not known for doin' a lot But I do my best work when the weather's hot I'm pretty good at drinkin' beer So hand me one more That's what I'm here for I'm built for having a ball I love the nightlife I love my budlight I like 'em cold and tall

WEEK 11: FINAL PRESENTATION SLIDES AND FINAL EVALUATION/ REFLECTION.
When reflecting on the intentions of this project, we set out to create a brand that provided studio spaces specifically designed for post- graduate creative students to occupy for the duration of their course, with our USP ensuring students are able to personalise their space complete with their own needs, whilst also being able to leave work out to come and go from as to not interrupt creative flow. Once the concept was devised and branding, visuals, layout and promotions were complete, it was then time to compile and present an engaging and informative pitch to the panel of lecturers and entrepreneurial experts.
Prior to the final presentation, we felt it important to reflect on the feedback from the formative and incorporate this to enhance the quality of the presentation to its fullest potential. Our biggest concern was myself and Grace now taking the weight of presenting the full pitch, meaning slides needed to be re-arranged and our notes needed updating to communicate the responsibility of sharing the remaining team members’ work. To ensure we felt prepared with this, we arranged a teams call to plan and practice the updated presentation, to ensure it ran smoothly. Grace and I also had discussions with Lewis, Foyjullah and Jamila in regards to discussing their work to find out their thought process through creating their outcomes which allowed us to incorporate this into the pitch so although they were not communicating this directly themselves, their thoughts were still heard. We also ensured to select our wording carefully to credit the relevant team members, such as explaining the graphic designers role was to develop the logo. We also spent time altering the layout of the slides to make them more aesthetically pleasing to the audience by providing a streamlined style throughout which is reflective of the made in house branding itself. This was done by using the relevant colour scheme and typeface. Headings were also updated to be more inclusive of the content; for example we added ‘identity’ to the brand name slide to contextualise the relevance of the mind map. We also condensed the slides by combining and removing areas we felt unnecessary, such as removing ‘the mill logo development’ and incorporating the final design within the ‘find us’ section, as we felt that to ensure a level of professionalism only the finals are shown at this stage.
It was important when deciding who will discuss what between Grace and I that it still flowed and did not feel disjointed as we jumped from one person to another. To ensure this, we divided the presentation into general sections, rather than doing alternative slides or a sporadic order. I kicked off the presentation by introducing who we are, the problem and initial primary research supporting the gap in the market and need for our concept. Grace then continued on with further secondary research and branding, before I then contextualised this into a clear and concise mission statement communicating the finalised concept. Grace then followed on to discuss our inspirations, location and interior qualities whilst I communicated the promotional aspects of the brand, expectations of future growth, final thoughts and a thankyou. I felt this worked really well as we were able to take the audience on a clear journey of the development of the project whilst simultaneously being able to discuss our specialisms within the project- Grace developing the interiors and myself developing the digital promotions- to add passion and authenticity to our pitch. Upon reflection, it could have been a nice touch to add a QR code or interactive link to the digital promotions slide to allow the audience to directly interact and view the social media content close up, as the overall screenshots showed a lot of content which could have been overwhelming for the audience to try view in the short time frame the slide was shown.
I found the experience of presenting online through Teams very worthwhile, as it provided me with transferable skills useful for my future progression; as we move through the digital age it is imperative to have at least a basic understanding on the processes of working online and I believe this provided me with great experience in the necessary skills and techniques to not only prepare and deliver a success pitch, but how to do so specifically through a digital platform. I also feel this experience taught me the importance of balance and equal weighting when delegating work between team members; I would describe myself as someone who likes to be in control and involved within every stage of the process, so having to take a step back to allow the team to carry out their own roles was initially quite hard for me. Saying this, I believe this feeling was balanced out by taking a joint leadership role along with Grace, as we were still able to have an involvement in all aspects of the project as we oversaw everything.
When reflecting on the concept and outcomes of our project, I believe we were able to generate an idea that met the needs of the consumer whilst filling a clear gap in the market, along with paying homage to Huddersfield’s heritage and occupying a derelict space within the town. This was a result of hard work and dedication from the team, evidencing a successful collaboration overall. Considering the possible future development on the brand moving forward, I think it could be interesting to host a ‘trial period’ to test the benefits and legitimacy of the purpose of our brand. This could involve hiring an existing studio space for a multiple week- month period and allowing a student to occupy it with no interruptions or expectations to move work or equipment at the end of the day, with the expectations of this allowing the student to develop higher quality work, a more enjoyable experience with no interruptions to creative flow, and more likely to feel creatively inspired. This would be first- hand evidence towards our concept being necessary for university investment.
Overall, the project was a very insightful experience for me and taught me a wide range of skills I will take forward with me throughout my creative practice, from learning about the wide range of key aspects to develop a successful brand to strong teamwork skills. I now feel well- equipped to tackle any group task I may be faced with in the future.

Since my last post of demonstrating the rural health competency of “Developing strategies to prevent and respond to occupational health effects and safety risks of key industries in rural communities” through creating an educational PowerPoint, I have since been assigned to create a proposed policy. Instructions for this proposed policy were to construct clinical practice guidelines for treating bronchitis. In this policy detailing clinical practice guidelines for treating bronchitis, I first started with the purpose. The purpose highlighted four key areas.
First, to assist physicians, midlevel providers, and all other medical staff in determining the most effective medical practice in the management of bronchitis, whether it is acute or chronic. Next, to provide information on the inappropriate and unnecessary prescribing of antibiotics for bronchitis. After this, to provide information on the appropriate and necessary prescribing of antibiotics for bronchitis. And lastly, to provide information on causes and risk factors, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, expectations, complications, and preventions for both acute and chronic bronchitis.
Next, I began discussing my policy section. This included declaring how treatment for both types of bronchitis using antibiotics should not be practiced, unless it is conclusively found to be caused by a bacterial infection or may help prevent complications with patients who have underlying conditions. My second portion professed how physicians, midlevel providers, and all other medical staff should consider the guidelines in this document when educating, treating, and managing patients with both types of bronchitis. The final portion of this policy acknowledged treatment for both types of bronchitis should be directed at the cause of the particular type of bronchitis. These areas of this policy section highlight the key areas of needed improvement in our health settings.
Upon all research I have completed in my time working in this practicum, I felt it was necessary to include an addition section emphasizing the unnecessary and inappropriate prescribing of antibiotics for bronchitis. In this section, I included beneficial facts I came across during my time researching. They are as follows:
1. Antibiotic resistance is a growing concern, globally. This is due to inappropriate and unnecessary prescribing of antibiotics.
2. Acute bronchitis is usually the result of a virus, which is not treatable with antibiotics.
3. It is HIGHLY recommended to not use antibiotics to treat uncomplicated cases of acute bronchitis.
4. Studies have shown that antibiotics are marginally to noneffective in relieving symptoms of bronchitis.
5. It is HIGHLY recommended to not use antibiotics to relieve symptoms of bronchitis.
6. Bronchitis is rarely caused by bacterial infections. In the case that bacteria is the culprit, antibiotics are appropriate.
7. Patients with underlying issues like COPD, cystic fibrosis, asthma, and heart conditions may be permissible to be treated with antibiotics to prevent bronchitis related complications.
8. Patients who are susceptible to pneumonia are also admissible to be provided antibiotics.
After this section, I devised the rest of my proposed policy in discussing both acute and chronic bronchitis separately. For both types of bronchitis, I first explained what they are and gave the most general definition for each. I then discussed the following sections for each type of bronchitis, in this order: causes and risk factors, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, expectations, complications, and prevention. This information was obtained from multiple up-to-date sources cited within this proposed policy. Upon completing this proposed policy, I sent it to Vice President Karen Smith for review. As I was told, it was then sent to Commwell Health’s Director of Pharmacy and Director of Nursing for further review.
My hope is that my work reflects the knowledge of current and appropriate methods in treating bronchitis. I hope that my proposed policy can actually be found useful and beneficial to physicians, midlevel providers, and all other medical staff found at Commwell. Mostly, I hope that my proposed policy represents a useful resource in combatting antibiotic resistance in all Commwell Health facilities found in our rural setting, even if the skirmish against antibiotic resistance pertains to only treating bronchitis. As I have found out, bronchitis is one of the most common infections mistreated with antimicrobials. So, what better infection to begin with in the fight against antimicrobial resistance!

The Rush of Blood - part 1
A/N: heyo! so this is my first sort of major writing post on here and I didn’t completely edit all of it, so I’m hoping for the best I guess (I probs could’ve written more). I also wrote this for a friend of mine so make sure to check her out because she’s absolutely fantastic @scrabblesense (: enjoy!
Word Count: 1,925
Notes: This is a poly!hamilsquad x reader fanfic featuring the good ol’ gang au. disclaimer: the au doesn’t completely belong to me however all the ideas are truthfully mine. This is most likely going to be a series so buckle up and enjoy the ride.
T/W: mentions of past kidnap and torture, past abuse, violence, angst, and mentions on death. (if i missed necessary to note, let me know and I’ll add it)
Parts: 1 2
The atmosphere was riddled with a tension so thick you could choke on it. It seemed to blanket everything in the dark room with a sense of red hot outrage accompanied by undertones of blazing determination. Expressions were cold and devoid of emotions, the white-knuckled fists at each gang member’s side being the only telltale sign of disagreement. The silence that fell immediately after Angelica proposed her plan almost had a physical weight to it as it made your head pound and shoulders tense with each passing second. You would give anything to leave the suffocating room in that moment as anxiety bloomed in your chest.
Everyone told you before that your analytical skills were what made you the best at what you do, but right now you wished you could turn your brain off as the previous words bounced around in your skull. Thorough observations seemed to be all you were good for; You could remember license plates with just a glance, write out the police’s rotation schedules and usual stake-out spots, plan an escape route in a minute flat, determine someone’s motives and possible outcomes, even read a person’s expression and body language. Looking around at everyone in the small group, it was easy to pick out those opposed to the plan and who were supportive. As you took in each detail, your mind split things up piece by piece.
The way Alexander held his head high with his swirling brown eyes aflame with restrained wrath was like a bright neon sign that flashed in all caps ‘I THINK THE FUCK NOT.’ It was a threatening look to say the least.
Next to you John had a certain defiant set to his jaw that set as a pair for his defensive stance, his feet shuffling ever so slightly to be in front of both Alex and you. Knowing John, he’d either be the one throwing punches or holding back his boyfriends - and quite possibly his girlfriend - from doing something stupid.
Looking at Lafayette adjacent to Alexander, the french man looked more worried and panicky than anything else with his fingers fidgeting at his sides and his lips pursed in a tight line. His furrowed eyebrows created creases in his forehead and if you didn’t know him like you do, you would expect the man to start pacing across the battered wooden floor.
Hercules was a different story. Placed on the other side of you, his arms were crossed over his chest making his biceps more defined while his gaze was set at a deadly glare that sent shivers down your spine. In this moment, that wasn’t the Herc who knits you winter scarfs and wraps you in hugs this was Hercules Mulligan, the man who could easily snap a guy’s neck with little effort.
On the other side of the room with Angelica and her sisters, Maria stood lazily to the side. She was always the more reserved girl as she remained selectively mute but you still noted the sure set to her casual stance. Despite her hair falling over the eye patch on the left side of her face you could still see the agreement in her eye.
Eliza and Peggy stood at either side of Angelica with confident tilts of their lips and spark in their eyes. Of course, with all of your boyfriend’s burning eyes on the three sisters plus Maria you didn’t blame the wary shift in their eyes.
To the untrained eye, Angelica adorned a neutral expression but you saw the smugness on her lips and quirk to her perfectly shaped brows, the amusement dancing behind her dark eyes. She knew the plan would go through no matter what the other’s said. Excluding the risky premise, it was well thought out and ultimately beneficial to the group.
You - wedged between Hercules and John - stood stock still while your insides went crazy. Underlying anxiety twisted into your stomach like barbed wire while your conscious looked for a way out, an escape route. But the more your eyes scanned around every corner of the room, the faces of your boyfriends and the other girls, it was never clearer that this was something you couldn’t opt out of. No matter what your boyfriends said in protest to the plan, you knew it wouldn’t be reasonable to jettison the proposal.
“No,” Alexander was the first to speak, smashing the tense quiet like glass. His voice was laced with anger, his fists shaking at his sides as he went to step forward. If John hadn’t put out his arm to stop the utterly furious man, you bet Alex would’ve attempted to get in Angelica’s face - even if he’s several inches shorter than her. “If you think for one fucking second I’d let (Y/N) go out and risk her life for something as stupid as robbing a gas station, you are very mistaken.”
Angelica merely snorted a laugh with a small shake of her head, knocking a few curls loose from her tight bun. “Hamilton, you know as well as the rest of us just how necessary this operation is. If it hasn’t occurred to you yet, we’re in debt,” her amused tone turned cold and vile in a matter of seconds as her gaze flicked over Alex distastefully. “And if memory serves me right, it’s your fucking fault.”
You watched Alexander’s anger bubble up inside him as his lips pulled back in a vicious snarl. “What else was I supposed to fucking do when I was tortured and then held at gunpoint until I gave up the money?” A pang of heartbreak reverberated in your chest at the remembrance of what happened two months ago. You knew it still gave Alex nightmares, how he cried out in his sleep or the way he overworked himself. The damn fucking Redcoats kidnapped your boy and left him broken and scarred in a ditch to die after robbing your group of every last cent they owned. Now you’d be lucky to get a meal a day or a good sleep. Your boyfriends can only do so much to warm you during the frigid Autumn nights.
“Look, all I’m suggesting is (Y/N) monitor the place for a bit and when the gas station is about to close she goes in armed. She’ll be wearing a ski mask, a black hoodie, the whole damn ten yards. She’ll be able to anticipate worst case scenario and get out fast. She doesn’t have to kill anyone but Hercules and John will be around the back of the building as reinforcements if things go topside and you and Lafayette will be in the getaway car. Easy in, easy out.” Angelica restated the plan from earlier.
Hearing it again made bile rise in your throat, your heart racing and beating in your ribcage like a sledge-hammer. Your mouth felt dry and your hands shook as it seems the weight of the world sat heavily on your shoulders. Any words you planned to say died before they were even formed.
“And where will you be in all this?” John spat out. His face was red with fury making his freckles stand out. Looking over at him, he still had his arm stretched out across Alexander’s chest to restrain him.
As if waiting for the question to be asked, Peggy smiled smugly and gestured between her sisters and Maria. “We will be hijacking both the traffic and gas station security cameras.”
“Someone needs to hold down the fort in addition to being the main communication center. Peggy managed to boost the signal on our walkie-talkies. We have a good 5 miles or so until the connection gets fuzzy.” Eliza added with a fond smile for her little sister.
Despite the nerve racking situation, you couldn’t help but be impressed. Peggy had always been good with anything that could be considered electronic. If only she could fix the water heater…
Next to you, Hercules uncrossed his arms and turned his glare to Angelica. “I’m not letting her go in alone. If we’re doing this, I’m going in with her.” The low edge to his words made everyone able to hear it cast their eyes down excluding Angelica. Everyone knew, even outside your gang, just how dangerous Herc can be. Although only your group knew how his hard exterior was a mask to how kind his heart truly was, that tone in his voice always made them shy away. Growing up in an abusive household, Hercules learned it was better to put on a threatening act than to put up with other people’s shit. Even now after all these years, he only shows his soft side with you and his boys.
Hercules’ statement seemed to shock Lafayette out of his worrying as he stepped forward with confident radiating off of his stance. “I agree with mon cher. If we are to go through with this, I will be accompanying mon amour.”
“If I agree to that then I’m risking three members of this group being caught and arrested. I devised this plan so if things go wrong, only one of us gets locked up. Having you and Hercules go in with (Y/N) is completely unnecessary and naive when she can do the job better than any of us.” Angelica retorted.
You hated the way everyone talked about you like you weren’t there. It made the barbed wire in your guts wrap around your heart and cut deep.
In an instant, both Alexander and John lunged. If Hercules and Laf weren’t able to grab the two boys, they wouldn’t have hesitated to start a full blown fight. It wouldn’t be the first time Alexander fought Angelica. It made you jump in fear, your eyes widening as John struggled in Herc’s grip. Laurens was all but spitting poisoned words at Angelica with a daunting growl in his tone. “(Y/N) is not fucking dispensable you fucking bitch! What the fuck happens if the cops show up and she can’t get out in time? I’ll tell you what fucking happens. They either shoot and kill her because she has a fucking gun or they arrest her for life for multiple shitty charges. What happens if the cashier has a gun? What happens if a customer decides to play hero and attack the robber? What happens-”
“ENOUGH!”
Your voice came up above John’s and any other possible argument Angelica had on her mind as silence encased the room. Tears had started streaking down your cheeks no matter how hard you tried to stop it. They leave wet tracks as they go unwiped making your cheeks shine in the dim light of the room. All eyes turned to you, Lafayette letting go of Alexander as the once raging bull turned sombre seeing your tears. Everything threatened to put you in a choke hold and drown your words like before, but this time you had to push through this. You had to push through the nauseating nervousness in your stomach and the way it felt like your heart jumped into your throat.
You just had to push through it like you always have.
Turning to give Angelica your full attention, your voice came out shaky but certain. “I’ll do it… I don’t need Herc or Laf with me, I just need the supplies you listed before. It’ll be a quick in and out, no cops, no killing. If things go wrong, I-...” A watery laugh broke through your lips before you could stop it. “Then I’ll go down swingin’.”

Developmental Blog (30%)
An overview of the use of digital content and user interface design to communicate to an audience.
a. The purpose of different digital content systems and the purpose for your website [P1].
One of the defining features of the 21st century is the creation of several digital systems which are used by individuals for different purposes.  The following are a few of the well-known devices and the purposes for which they are used:
•Television― this devise has existed to illuminate and to entertain. It holds a mirror to our lives, either directly through education, news and current affairs, or indirectly through comedy or drama. It also allows us to escape our existence by entering worlds different to our own.
•Games consoles― this is an electronic or computer device that outputs a video signal or visual image to display a video game that one or more people can play through some type of game controller. The purpose of this is to create a moment for enjoyment and entertainment.
•Computer― this is a machine that can be instructed to carry out sequences of arithmetic or logical operations automatically via computer programming. The computer is a multi-purpose device that is used to perform calculations, store information, retrieve data and process information. In addition, it serves as a means to communication and entertainment with use of the internet or software.
•Tablet― The tablet is crafted as a tool to be used in place of a computer that is more light weight and portable to access. It can also be useful for educational purposes as its use for notepad tracking on the go for business or school use and can be used as a mean to communication through internet and apps as well.
The purpose of this designer’s website is multifaceted. the website will be designed to have a multi purposed dimension. It will be design for educational purposes providing the user with relevant information and it will also provide the user with entertainment.
b. Evaluate the brief to determine a suitable digital content delivery approach [P3]
In evaluating the various type of devices and their purposes it is evident that a suitable digital content delivery approach is of optimum importance. According to Limelight Networks (2019) , choosing the right content delivery approach begins with determining the capabilities that are most important for your specific workflow along with other important considerations . For instance, geography can play a major role in content delivery approach. Therefore, the designer must take into consideration whether the audience is located globally, regionally or locally. In addition, one also has to determine where the content is being stored whether it is a single on premise location single location in the cloud or multiple locations in the cloud. To ensure the fastest content delivery approach, it is beneficial to choose a content delivery approach that offers multi-region storage replication and is able to bypass internet congestion that can impede content retrieval.  The type of content that is being delivered is also very important. This includes web content, file distribution, live video or video on demand. A content delivery approach must be chosen to support your specific workflow.
One must also pay attention to the content security requirements which can be TLS/SSL encryption, Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) protection, Web Application Firewall (WAF) protection or Video Digital Rights Management (DRM). Every effort must be made to protect content from being intercepted in transit, choose a content delivery approach that fully supports TLS/SSL encryption across its entire network. A content delivery approach with DDoS protection will provide the fastest performance when under attack.
The UI Principles used in the design of my site would take into consideration the following features of a good UI design?
According to Hannah, (2019), user interface elements are the parts we use to build interactive websites or apps. They provide touchpoints for the user as they navigate their way around; from buttons to scrollbars, to menu items and check boxes into what to expect at every turn.
Some UI principles that this designer would consider to ensure a good UI design are as follows:
Minimize cognitive load
Hannah, (2019) noted that cognitive load refers to the amount of mental processing power a user needs to use a product. In the face of an information overload, users will miss important details, get overwhelmed, or even abandon the website or app altogether. To keep cognitive load to a minimum, the designer would have avoid old links, irrelevant images, and meaningless text. Every effort would therefore be made to apply general principles of content organization such as grouping related items, bullet points, clear headings, and obvious call to actions.
Maintain Consistency
In order to maintain consistency there will be the need to use common elements in my UI. In this way the users will feel more comfortable and will be able to get things done more quickly.  It will also be important to create patterns in language, layout and design throughout the site to help facilitate efficiency. Consistency in a user interface also allows the user to transfer existing knowledge to new tasks and master new aspects faster. It also means that users will be able to avoid wasting the time it takes to understand the differences in certain controls or commands, and instead focus on solving the problem. All in all, consistency makes the interface design recognizable and predictable.
Ensure Clarity and Simplicity
Keeping the interface clear and straightforward will instill confidence in the user, which will motivate them to continue interacting with the interface. The best interfaces are almost invisible to the user. they avoid unnecessary elements and are clear in the language.
Keep the user in control
Every effort will be made to make the users feel in control of themselves and their environment. My aim will be to keep users in control by regularly surfacing system status, by describing causation, and by giving insight
Be purposeful in page layout.
Much consideration will be given to the relationships between items on the page and the structure of the page based on importance. Careful placement of items can help draw attention to the most important pieces of information and can aid scanning and readability.
Use color and texture.
Colors and texture would be carefully chosen since one can use these to one; advantage.  According to Hannah, (2019, You can direct attention toward or redirect attention away from items using color, light, contrast, and texture.
Use typography to create hierarchy and clarity
Care would be taken also when using typeface. The designer will be mindful to use different sizes, fonts, and arrangement of the text to help increase scanability, legibility and readability.
 c. Discuss the role of different UI elements and features, using examples of any three (3) of the following :
User interface elements usually fall into one of the following four categories:
Input Controls
Input controls allow users to input information into the system. If you need your users to tell you what country they are in, for example, you’ll use an input control to let them do so.
Navigation Components
Navigational components help users move around a product or website. Common navigational components include tab bars on an iOS device and a hamburger menu on an Android.
Informational Components
Informational components share information with users. This includes notifications, progress bars, message boxes, and pop-up windows.
Containers
Containers hold related content together, such as accordions. An accordion is a vertically stacked list of items that utilizes show/hide functionality.

I just do not see things as simply as you do David and I do not have the need, in fact I resist the need to label aspects of our society into boxes. In this way I avoid polarisation and hopefully the awful and unnecessary division which has crept into our lives. You never seem to use the term fascism, why is that? And tell me your objections to a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole?
——————————————————————————————
I think I hit the nail dead on the head in the piece above, the comparisons are both real and frightening.
I’m not going to stop calling out wrongs for the sake of harmony, it needs to be said as it flushes out the fox, if it “creates division” so be it.
But I’m actually not the one causing division -I’m just the observer and today’s squalid example by those climate shits using our Cenotaph on the most sacred of days  is a vomit inducing perfect example.
Look to the Marxists that infest the BBC, Extinction Rebellion, The Black Lives Matter movement, SAGE, our schools, our universities, our museums, the National Trust and the rest of our precious institutions that these shit-kickers drip poison from and  see how they are attempting to destroy the social and cultural fabric of this country. To call me devisive  is shooting the messenger while ignoring the problem.
Big and small business are hiring in ‘educators’ on Critical Race Theory to help with their ‘unconsciously racist white staff’ while  members of our Royal Family call this country racist from exile.
From supermarkets to  teabag companies are now flagging how anti-racist they are out of pure fear of having the finger pointed at them by these online Marxist witch hunters.
“You never seem to use the term fascism, why is that?” -because we have our hands full at the moment with bloody commies.
My objections to socialism/communism? The short answer is it doesn’t work,  and has never worked , see  Venezuela, Cuba, North Korea, then there’s the genocides of 50m in Russia  35m in China.
You mention ‘advocating the means of production’, I think you mean ‘seizing the means of production’ -K. Marx, -that means theft. Seizing farms from farmers and then making them serfs on their own land, this happened in Russia and the state seized so much that they left not a grain for the farmers and their families hence the great famine, millions died . This happened most recently in Cuba where the farmers are slaves on their own land and Castro lived in opulent palaces. In Venezuela now they have finished eating their pets and are now eating out of refuse wagons.
But that wasn’t real socialism or communism, it wasn’t done right many say , but it was and  that’s why all the crap happened.

HW5 Case Q2-3
Ethics Case- Security & Privacy: The Patriots ACT
Q2 (33 pts.). Explain the case and discuss, one at a time, each question you devised about it, plus the 3 standard questions. Post this on your blog.
Since the enactment of the Patriot Act millions of American citizens have been concerned of unjust phone tapping and unnecessary surveillance. Many believe that the Patriot Act gives the government uncheck power for discrimination against groups of people that are disenfranchised minorities including Muslim-Americans, Asian-Americans, African-Americans, immigrant communities, and re-entry people who have paid their depts. to society. While ignoring blatant domestic crimes conducted by white Americans (like the Brundy Brother of Oregon, and Proud Boys) and not classifying them as terrorist attacks but lesser crimes if any at all.
In 2004 the NYCLU and ACLU arguing the unconstitutionality of FBI National Security Letters (NSL) under the authority of the Patriot Act. The plaintiffs argued that Section 2709’s broad subpoena power violates the First, Fourth and Fifth Amendments by allowing the FBI to obtain private information without any form of judicial review (Q5). The NYCLU and ACLU also argued that section 2709’s non-disclosure gave the FBI unlimited suppression of the first amendment. On September 28th 2004, Judge Marrero of Southern District of New York ruled in favor of the plaintiff’s. The government appealed and during the time between trials Congress amended the Patriot Act to allow a private company who received a NSL right’s to consult with counsel (Q2). Because of this the ruling went in favor of the government. This Forced the ACLU to adjust their charges against the Patriot Act. This file and amend dance continued through two more cases with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Where the plaintiff finally loss the case for good in favor of national security.
Eventually the Patriot Act was replaced by the USA Freedom Act that place new rules on how the government could gather information, mostly limiting data mining to one person or record at a time instead of mass groups. (Q1&3) the USA Freedom Act would require the intelligence community to be more transparent about how much data it’s collecting, and allow private companies (Q6).
Q3. (34 pts.) Write up your case on your blog. Neatness and format count. Use the following subheadings:
The facts of the case
The facts are that even though the many amendments have been put in place to narrow the scope of what is allowed under the now USA Freedom Act the federal government still has the right to surveil and seize sensitive information on persons under “reasonable suspicion”. However due to the questions and issues posed by Doe-v-Holder information can only be seize on an individual once suspected of terroristic activity.
Analysis.
In the wake of 9/11 and increasing civil unrest I believe some form of privacy infringement still exist. However, some measure of liberties must be compromised for the greater good of the nation.
My conclusions.
In the wake of 9/11 and increasing civil unrest I believe the federal government continues forms of privacy infringement even with the amendments. However, some measure of liberties must be compromised for the greater good of the nation. Unlike my previous opinion on the ethics against Washington Redskins branding; The unethical practices of acts against the first, fourth and fifth do serve a collective good at the expense of some individuals.
Future environment
As we consumers continue to willingly relinquish our privacy in the name of ease and convenience through terms and conditions associated with on-line banking, social media sites, and forms of electronic payment the private companies subject to NSL request gain limited liability protection. As fear of war and foreign influence continues for spread through the messages of political leaders American become increasingly willing support acts to catch “terrorist” and “Russian and Chinese interference” we continue to relinquish our rights. As these trends continue it no longer becomes a matter of ethics but willing participation in demanding less civil rights.
Future scenario
Future cases are bound to meet the same fate as Doe-v-Holder. Where outright wins by plaintiffs will not occurs but amendments and adjustments will continue to be added to create a more just Act is created. I believe less and less cases will be able to see a trial due to plaintiff’s clicking “I Accept” with out reading terms and conditions on their favorite apps and platforms.
