shortskirts verse - twentysomething (on ao3) first hs/college au i read and tbh i don’t remember much apart from it being super sweet and well written!

waves - wormstaches (on ao3) i think everyone has heard of this au tbh and my god it is amazingly written! also features pan!cas in a lot of ugly sweaters (which i love sm and reminds me a lot of myself eheh) basically these fics made me addicted to the college au genre till this day lolol - as well as pan!cas representation !!

My first fic was 300 Things by cautionzombies. I can't remember when I read that but im sure it's not that long since I only started reading fanfictions around 2013-2014. It was my gateway in the world of fanfictions. I started watching SPN around that time too. Such shame it's not in ao3 anymore (or is it?) bc i really want to reread it again.

So, hey, saw the request. I've sorta been hovering around the fandom since...maybe 2009? 2010? I know I caught up on the first 4/5 seasons in a blitz of a couple weekends of binging and crying during my college days, and then went sobbing to ffnet (ah, AO3, not yet around at the time) to find Destiel fics to comfort myself with. After all this time, Tripping by Hatteress is one fic I still come back to reread. That, and the little additions. It's one of the few fics I think did an insane amount of justice to Dean as he is in Canon, repressed emotions and all. A second one...I suppose, as Christmas has just passed, this short gem of emotion is perfect for the season. It's called Where The Sea and City Meet by RC_McLachlan and it still makes me tear up reading it.

If you ever want any more old school Destiel fics (like, back from 2008-2010, when I dived headfirst into the fandom) hit me up. I have an entire google doc filled with just Destiel recs I made for a friend eight years ago. Thanks for all the fic recs! I'm way out of the loop on Destiel fics these days, I dropped out of being an active member of the fandom some six years ago and just recently got dragged kicking and screaming back in (and rewatching the series from the beginning cause I'm a masochist)

y’know i think the main reason that i believed that i couldn’t possibly have adhd (before it became a topic on here) is because some of the people i knew who definitely have it or possibly had it/have it are guys.

the first person i met with adhd was one of my guy friends in my group at public school, who had to give his meds to the office and go there at certain times during school to take them to help him focus throughout the day. he was the hyperactive type.

there was another guy friend in that group who had adhd as well, who always said his constant interrupting of our ancient history class and his needing the social worker who would come to class with him some days was because his having adhd. now if this friend talks to me he blames his adhd on why he hates everything in life and “why just why did i never try in school and you have to fix that for me” basically becomes the main gist of every convo with him.

also i think maybe a couple of guys at catholic school in high school had it too, but the school was much better at hiding it because we had a semi well supported special ed department; so sometimes those boys would head down there and not be in a mainstream class. but if they were in a mainstream class a lot of the time they weren’t in my classes (especially in english) but instead in the bottom class. but they were defs in my maths class because two guys (one of which i thought had absolutely nothing wrong with him but now i think he could’ve actually had adhd- but if i’d thought that in school i thought he was “faking it” somehow so he could be with his friend so he didn’t feel alone in class with a special ed teachers aide).

but somehow i managed to get through high school and uni... albeit falling out of postgrad. although i don’t exactly help pay bills at home (because my dad excuses me from doing it by saying to “save your money” even though i feel like i should be paying at least some form of rent or helping with the bills) i still do buy my own groceries and stuff at the chemist. but sometimes i go overboard with buying shit on afterpay, mostly in the form of impulse buying clothes.... and i was doing this frequently during undergrad uni and postgrad... as if the clothes would fill a hole in me or something and especially after turning in an assignment and when i’d received the assignment back. it got pretty out of control. like once i spent $150 on a vibrator and during on campus uni i was spending like $150 some pay weeks on clothes i didn’t really need except to show off on campus. and this was BEFORE afterpay and other “buy now, pay later” programs were a thing. like wtf did i need to spend $150 on a fucking asos brand trench coat???? ridiculous.

it was the same with tumblr. i remember once throwing a fit because the internet wasn’t working or some shit so i couldn’t use tumblr for a few days. like how stupid is that??? i was even using tumblr during classes in uni, and that creative writing professor i had in 2017 called me out on that during one lesson... being all like “why on earth are you on social media during my class, gwladys?” and i glared at him bc tumblr was basically my entire social life. and i’ve written before about how engrossed i’d get in clearing out my blog archive and likes archive on here, that is do it until 3am without realising how time had really gone by. and it got to the point that i was doing this during my classes (both lectures and tutes) and in my breaks at uni. like it was BAD. that i couldn’t not think about it. i’d also obsess over notes as well, if i made my own posts (and i admit that i still do that).

there was also further back in 2012 and 2013 where i was so stupid jealous at the people who i considered to be “popular” at school would get 50 likes on just one status about something as pointless as “i’m making toast 🍞” or something as equally banal and pointless. so instead i got bitter and started “an experiment” where i’d study who was online and how many people were online at a certain time of day (like 8am before school, 1pm while we were at school, 6pm at dinner and then like 10pm at night before bed) and post my statuses then to see how likes i’d yield on those posts and if it got close to 20-50 likes over the multiple posts. sometimes i was lucky to get to like 10-15 likes on one status at once, and those posts made me feels vaguely successful. finally, sometimes i’d post the same status posts on here to see which social media platform would give me better results. like it was super weird.

then even further back in year 10 i got fixated on getting over the “liked pages limit” on facebook which was somewhere around like 5,000 or something. so i’d spend hours upon hours on end liking pages.... some of which i deeply regret liking when they pop up in my feed for the first time in like 10 years 😂😂😂 then sometimes my friends would post on my wall to be like “DUDE HOW THE HELL DID YOU LIKE *enter stupid fb page title here* AND 645 OTHER PAGES????!!!!” THEN as far back as year 8, i obsessed over the word count (until i finally found it was about maybe 1200 words??) on one of my best friends myspace forum pages where i’d post really fucking weird messages to her sometimes about my week and stuff, when she went overseas for 5months.... and then i turned the word count cut off thing into a competition with my other best friend bc she couldn’t figure it out and i refused to tell her the word limit 😂.

i also did the above with texts on my phone as well, and especially with my web slider phone; because that would constantly conk out when i’d write like 20page messages to my friends. i’d throw it against my bedroom wall and cry when it decided to conk our during those absolutely stupidly long messages. looking back, i don’t blame it for doing that when the phones memory was literally only like 2gb (😂😂) and i’m sure a 20page message would take up like 645 megabytes of that lmao (ok probs not but you get my point lmao). like i basically had zero filter and would write novel length messages to people.... which i still do tbh based on who i’m talking to. i just don’t know when to shut the fuck up. and that’s the same on here lmao.

anyway. this is just another musing on how maybe i could have adhd and i’m not self-diagnosing at all. but it’s stemmed from going through my posts again and people saying that i should probs get tested for adhd bc my behaviour possibly sounds like adhd in girls/women. but the problem is i’ve only ever known guys with it.

Meg’s Ultimate Beauty and the Beast Fic Rec List

so, you all are probably going to think i’m exaggerating (and be horrified when you discover i’m actually not and probably decide that i’m weird af) but over the years i have pretty much read every Beauty and the Beast fic on fanfiction.net. YES, i know, that’s Extra to the point that it can’t even pass off as being cute or quirky anymore, but it’s true. i started in 2013, though, in my defense, and just kind of read every single night when i’d finished my homework all throughout high school. ANYWAY, because of this, i know a lot of good fics that some of you guys may not remember reading or may have not seen bc they were written in 2008 or something crazy like that. so, here’s my recommendations for BATB fics!! these will mostly be Belle/Beast and Belle/Adam, but other stuff might be in there. a lot of these will be based on the 1991 film since obviously there’s a lot more fic in that, but i’ll probably sneak in some recent stuff i’ve read that i really like either from fanfiction.net or Archive of Our Own. i’ll add comments to the ones i specifically remember reading and am able to elaborate on my thoughts, but otherwise i’m just pulling stuff out of my favorites (i only favorite a fic if i really really like it.) here we go!! 

Multi-Chapter Fics 

A Change in Me by disneylove89  Description: Belle is saved from the wolves by the Beast, but is injured and becomes ill as a result. Because of this, though, Belle is unknowingly able to find the chink in the Beast's hard heart and begin their odd relationship. A larger look at Belle and the Beast's lives with expanded movie scenes and original chapters beginning from just after the wolf chase and past the movie's end. My comments: this is one fic I specifically remember reading my freshman year of high school. I *loved* it. It basically gave a bit more depth to Belle and Beast’s friendship and allowed that friendship to transcend into love a lot more naturally. I’ll probably be re-reading this one tonight, since I don’t think I’ve re-read it in a couple of years! 

A Prince in Disguise by The Green Archer  Description: The Beast gets a reprieve on his curse, but will he find out if Belle truly loved him? Meanwhile, Gaston will do anything to make Belle his wife. Alternate ending to the movie. My comments: If I remember correctly, the author said she got the idea for this from The Princess Bride. Anyway, this is another one I loved when I first fell in love with BATB. It’s got the perfect amount of heartache and pining (yes, I am quoting the Beast) and she captured Adam’s character perfectly. 

After They Stopped Dancing by lebardetriste Description: This is a creation for my inner child, who always wondered what happened to Belle and her prince after they stopped dancing. I did my best to honor the character development already established by the movie. To me, Disney's Beauty and the Beast is one of THE great love stories. This a direct continuation of the story, picking up just moments after the movie ends. My comments: Guys, I think this may be the first BATB fic I ever read. I’m not sure. It’s definitely one of the first few, and I remember loving it so much. 

All Men Are Afraid of Dying by LadyBaelish1127 Description: "I just wish you would let me help you find yourself again," Belle murmured. - Belle is adjusting to life in the rejuvenated castle. Prince Adam is learning what it means to be human again. Novel-length, based on 2017 film. My comments: This was one of the first multi-chapter fics to come out of the 2017 movie, the first chapter was posted on the day the movie officially premiered in theatres. She really captured 2017 Adam’s character perfectly, especially considering she was probably just going off of seeing the movie once! There was barely any meta or headcanons on 2017 Adam at the time, so to me it’s mind-blowing how well she wrote him. There’s an amazing plot twist about halfway through the fic that I wasn’t expecting at all, which was great. Also, this is super smutty, and I’m here for it. 

Mirrors by @greensearcher​ Description: Everyone knows the Beast was selfish and unkind—which, of course, is exactly what a jealous enchantress would want the world to think. A retelling in which young Adam was an innocent victim caught up in his father's past mistakes, and Belle a willing presence seeking to repay her own father's debt. And with a vengeful witch on the loose, Gaston is the least of their worries. My comments: WOAH, MY FRIENDS. THIS FIC IS AMAZING, PLEASE READ IT. As the description would suggest, this fic is basically what Adam and Belle’s friendship and love story would’ve been like if Adam hadn’t been such an apocalyptic fuckhat in the beginning. (Sorry, bby, but you know it’s true.) I love the idea of Adam actually being really kind and good (which we all know he is deep down, but I mean like in his behavior as well) and that’s actually how the Prince is in the original Beauty and the Beast, which I always loved about La Belle et La Bete.

The Beast Prince by onceuponanobsessedfan Description: With an obsessive love for the prince, the Enchantress places a unique curse on him--beast by day, human by night. In order for the curse to break, he must marry the Enchantress or remain locked away in his castle for eternity. If anyone sees his true form, he will be lost forever to a woman he will never love. My comments: This is a different twist on the story we’re used to, and I love it. I especially love Belle and Beast’s relationship in this. 

I Will Be With You For Evermore by ImagineATale  Description: Alternative ending based on 2017 remake. What if Belle decides she wants to return to the castle after rescuing her father? And what if she leaves the mirror with the Beast? My comments: This is incredibly depressing, and I’m totally here for it. Also, it’s not completed yet, but it’s totally worth reading anyway. 

Behind a Fair Façade by @theteaisaddictive​ Description: Belle and Adam are college roommates whose dislike soon melts into friendship - and maybe more. But Adam has a reason beyond Belle's smile for pursuing her love, to do with his parents tragic death ten years ago. And Belle has her own motives for choosing a college over a hundred miles from her beloved father. Can their friends get them to fall in love? Complete, 3 bonus chapters. My comments: I’ve been reading @theteaisaddictive‘s stuff for years now, and I always love everything she writes. This is one of the modern AU’s I’ve really liked where I felt like the characters still seemed like themselves in a modern setting. 

A Rose’s Thorn by @theteaisaddictive​ Description: Because a prince insulted a witch, he was cursed. Because a girl fell in love, the spell was broken. But when a merchant chooses to trust his horse, the prince risks never breaking his enchantment. And the merchant's daughter will be trapped in marriage with a man she doesn't love. Can they find each other, even with all the changes to this tale as old as time? Movieverse AU. My comments: Another great fic by @theteaisaddictive. It’s not complete yet, though, you’ve been warned. 

Kissed by a Rose by SamoaPhoenix9 Description: Mature content Beauty and the Beast. Belle comes to the castle burdened by an unspeakable secret and a deeply wounded spirit. The Beast carries betrayal in his own past. Can they still learn to love, and to trust, one another? Complete! My comments: First of all, can I just say, SamoaPhoenix9 has literally been in the BATB fandom forever. Like, I remember seeing authors thanking them for their comments on fics from 2012. They definitely get some credit for that alone, since reading/writing about BATB for that long will definitely allow you to really understand the characters. As for this fic, I haven’t read it in a year or so, but I do know that I loved it. 

My Heart Will Go On by Charlie’sLostVampire  Description: Engaged to be married to a woman who he does not love - a match enforced by his money grubbing father - the poised young aristocrat, Adam, is utterly miserable. On his first night aboard the RMS Titanic, he debates pitching himself over the edge of the ship and into the icy waters below, never to be seen or paraded around ever again. And then he meets Belle. My comments: It’s a Titanic AU, what more can I say? Yes, I know, this only has three chapters thus far, don’t fight me. I’m just as desperate for more as you are. 

Beauty and the Beast: The Tale Continues by CJ Ambrose Description: With the curse broken, Belle and Prince Adam start to enjoy their new life together, and remaining happy for evermore. Takes place during and after the ending of the 2017 live-action film. Please review! Some OOC moments. My comments: Another one of the first fics to come out of the movie. As they mentioned in the description, some moments are a bit out of character, but overall I’m into it. I definitely have this set for email notifications, and they update pretty often, so it’s always something to look forward to. 

Love Will Save Your Soul by Hammyham9 Description: After the curse is lifted, Adam and Belle are getting used to life together, hopefully with a semblance of self-restraint.  Après L'Enchantement by The Green Searcher Description: Becoming a prince again was just the beginning. Post-movie fluff. My comments: This is another one of the first BATB fics I read. I’ll have to re-read it, since it’s been a while, but I remember being in love with it. 

Love Changes Things by JonniLyne Description: What if the Beast hadn't forced Belle to stay? What if it was her choice? What if she stayed to escape her own tragic fate? My spin on the classic story. 

Tune As Old As Song by So-Crates Johnson Description: Modern/AU: Belle, a writer for a local newspaper, is helping a friend with a story when she meets Adam, a guitarist for a popular local metal band. As she gets to know him, she realizes that they have more in common than their seemingly different interests would suggest. My comments: Another good modern AU. In this one, Adam is a musician, which my former Band Slut self was very into in 2013. Also, Belle is a journalist in this one, which my current journalism major self is very into. 

Song as Old as Rhyme by So-Crates Johnson Description: A modern retelling following the original storyline, in which most of the main characters are gainfully employed adults. My comments: Basically the same idea as the previous one, except this one more closely follows the plot of the movie. 

Certain as the Sun by disneylove89 Description: Belle and Adam have returned from their honeymoon to begin their lives as husband and wife. They find out quickly though, that nothing is ever as certain as the sun, that there are many things than can change their lives in a single moment. This story follows Adam and Belle as they experience life, with all the joys and the difficulties that come with it. A series of short stories. 

Notre Dame by FoxyBoxy Description: What if Belle used the Portal Book again before she left the castle? And had a midnight stroll with Beast? My comments: This is amazing, that’s really all I can say 

Perchance to Dream by SamoaPhoenix9 Description: Based on the 2017 movie, with a twist from the original French story. After coming to the castle, Belle meets someone in her dreams who seems oddly familiar... My comments: As you all know, I love the original Beauty and the Beast stories - both Villeneuve’s and Beaumont’s. So, obviously, I adore this.  As The Long, Long Nights Begin by ladymacbeth99 Description: AU. After the fight with Gaston, Belle is just in time to save the Beast's life-but too late to break the spell. Can they manage to find some happiness anyway? My comments: This is depressing and I love it.

'There were really no other girls in Villeneuve?'" In which Belle makes a friend and learns more about her fiance. My comments: This is easily my favorite one-shot of all time. It’s incredibly well-written, fluffy and cute and it features Makeup-Wearing Adam, which is one of my favorite Adams. It features lots of different characters, like Plumette and even Maurice. The second chapter is amazing, it’s so fluffy and sweet and if I’m being honest, sometimes when I’m anxious at night and having trouble falling asleep, I just read it and it calms me down enough to drift off. 

When We Touched by A Self-Promoting Attention-Thirsty Hoe, AKA Meg. AKA me. This is my fic. I’m self-promoting my fic. 

Description (which is awful, by the way, I never knew I’d be so bad at writing descriptions): The five times the Beast had human contact for the first time in years, and the one time he had it as a human himself after the curse is broken. Based mostly off the 2017 movie. My comments: Well, my dudes. What do I have to say other than this is my fic, I think it’s somewhat okay, and I hope that you enjoy it.

(Read more on that here and here.) This is what would happen if he found those wheely suckers after the curse was broken.  My comments: this is literally the Heelys fic please read it

All Along by SamoaPhoenix9  Description: The spell has finally been broken. The Beast has some explaining to do, and Belle has a few secrets of her own to get out: she knew about the curse. Postmovie oneshot.  Evermore Reprise by @theresadunn​  Description: A reprise for Evermore sung by Adam to his daughter.  My comments: This made me cry  Evermore (Reprise) by @uncledisney​ Description: One night, Adam finds himself overlooking the castle grounds from the tower, just like the time Belle left him. Only this time, this is his wedding night and Belle is now his wife. My comments: Another reprise for Evermore, except this is just the lyrics. However, it’s still great. 

Changes by TrudiRose Description: One-shot: Belle and her Prince adjust to life after the transformation. My comments: Remember what I said earlier about SamoaPhoenix6 being like, an OG BATB fic writer? THIS WAS WRITTEN IN 2004, AND I STILL SEE TRUDIROSE LURKING IN THE BATB FICS ON FANFICTION.NET. Honestly, to me, TrudiRose is a legend. I say this half-jokingly, but seriously. I remember back in 2013 when I began my mission to read every BATB fic out there, I’d read something from 2012, something from 2010, and something from 2008 and the fic writers were all thanking TrudiRose for their support or doing beta work or whatever. That’s so crazy and cool to me, idk. Anyway, this one-shot is great. 

Two Hearts Become One by disneylove89  Description: This is the story of Belle and Adam's wedding night. Plenty of fluff, but pay attention to the rating, it's there for a reason! My comments: This is some good smut, my dudes. Pretty sure 15 year old Meg learned everything she didn’t know about sex from reading this. So, thanks for the free sex ed, disneylove89. 

One Passion by disneylove89 Description: A sort of sequel to my story "Two Hearts Become One." Adam and Belle are celebrating their one year wedding anniversary in all sorts of lovely, smutty ways. My comments: Once again, smut. Also, I distinctly remember geeking out over the fact that both these smut fics were titled after the Beauty and the Beast (Reprise) from the Broadway musical, as if I was the only one that knew that. 

The Beast Within the Man by ladymacbeth99 Description: One-shot. Even after he's transfigured back to his human form, Belle still recognizes the Beast she grew to love. 

Proof by Amabeth Description: He told Gaston he wasn't a beast, and he proved it. But Belle didn't need any proof. / OR a short drabble about the before and after of the Beast's transformation. Set in the 2017 remake. 

Snow Covered Dreams by SpoonyLupin Description: After the Beast thinks he has injured Belle during their snowball fight, this leads to an intimate fireside chat. Beauty and the Beast: A New Beginning by Prinsesa Isabella Description: (Takes place one and a half year after the BatB 2017 movie) A series of one-shots, dabbles revolving around Adam and Belle as the new monarch rulers King and Queen... and... as the new parents of their first newborn princess. (Based on guiltyhipster and theresadunn's BatB Parenting Headcanons on tumblr) My comments: these are based on those amazing Adelle parenting headcanons and I love them  Well, my friends, that’s all I have to give you for now. However, there’s over 2k fics for Beauty and the Beast on fanfiction.net, so you should definitely scroll back and see what you can find. Interview

What is a proud college dropout, world traveler, Ayn Rand devotee, and son of an international arms dealer doing artfully, doggedly defending bitcoin as a form of cash? Not even out of his 20s, Derek Magill is many times wiser than his chronological age lets on. In fact, he’s arguably the most important apologist around when it comes to bitcoin cash (BCH). Through rational arguments, funny retorts, solid philosophical foundations, he’s developed quite a following. He’s even started his own think tank, The Nakamoto Studies Institute, to document BCH’s importance in monetary history. News.Bitcoin.com caught up with the troll slayer for an exclusive interview.

News.Bitcoin.com (BC): You waded into litecoin for a while, hoping to find a crypto sans excessive fees and mempool nonsense, right? I remember you posting a schematic or something, explaining how it worked to your grandfather. Derek Magill (DM): That’s correct. I gave up on the cryptocurrency community not long after I got my first bitcoin in 2013. I bought bitcoin here and there over the years, but I never liked what I saw as indefinite utopianism in the space — that kept me away from participating. The events leading up to Mike Hearn’s famous exit piece made me glad I’d stayed out of it at the time. But I started getting excited again in early 2017.

I liked the fact that, at the time at least, the Litecoin community was committed to litecoin being usable for real-world commerce. There were problems with litecoin’s value proposition from the start that I was aware of (mostly in the fact that the ‘silver to bitcoin’s gold’ analogy sounds nice but is nonsensical), but I hoped it would be able to come out from bitcoin core’s [BTC] shadow as the developers and the community took BTC down a road that seemed increasingly irrational. And in a way, I think I was vindicated for a time. Litecoin grew in price and volume incredibly in mid-to-late 2017, I think in large part because people needed a more reliable way to transfer value than BTC. But when it became clear to me that the Litecoin roadmap was little more than testing ground for BTC’s roadmap, right around the time BCH got off the ground I traded my Litecoin for BCH, which I now think has the only serious chance of challenging BTC’s roadmap. Frankly, Litecoin is still one of my best investments though, funny enough.

Argumentum ad Rogerum

BC: Your favoritism of bitcoin cash has turned toward advocacy. Is it important BCH proponents be versed in apologetics? DM: Long term, no. You should be able to be philosophically illiterate but still be able to transact with BCH and get value from it. In the short term, I have been totally surprised by the effectiveness of the Core madness, and I suspect the more reasoned arguments we can deliver on the BCH side to counter that will be valuable. That’s why I’ve spent so much time writing. I do think in general BCH/BTC need more communicators, philosophers, writers, salespeople, marketers, and creatives. Developer-only culture is the reason we got into this mess to begin with.

BC: One of the first viral essays you wrote about BCH was to separate its more charismatic advocates from the cryptocurrency itself, Argumentum ad Rogerum. Why is that important?   DM: That really had two goals. On the one hand, I think Roger Ver is a hero for the work he’s done, and what is being done to his reputation by idiotic internet losers and a handful of genuinely mean people is disgraceful. I wanted to counter that.

On the other hand, and related directly to your question, I think it’s a very bad sign for investors if the success of Bitcoin is said to rest on a tiny handful of good or bad actors. The simple fact is that Roger could be a total scammer charlatan and it wouldn’t change my evaluation of Bitcoin Cash. I wanted to point out the stupidity and hypocrisy of making everything about Roger and show how it is not an argument at all. Core’s obsession with the personal character of Roger and others as arguments against Bitcoin Cash is frankly more revealing about their own warped views of Bitcoin than BCH or Ver.

Nakamoto Studies Institute 

BC: The Staggering Lies and Scams of Bitcoin Core is a definitive polemic of its subject matter. What drove you to write it? DM: That was a fun one to write. I suppose it was directly inspired by a rather unlettered rant Saifedean Ammous left me on Twitter about how BCH is a scam run by sociopaths and criminals, the same old nonsense you hear all the time.

More broadly though, it was just this question of “scam” in general. You hear it all the time that BCH is a scam but very little evidence is ever given besides the fact that Roger Ver sold some firecrackers on Ebay once and Jihan Wu is from China. Meanwhile, there’s a good deal of evidence that a lot of bad things have been done by people in the BTC community that might be relevant to potential investors.

I wanted to make a roundup of the ones I considered most egregious — the puffed up lawsuits against Bitcoin.com by people who claim to be anarchists, the false advertising on Bitcoin dot org that went on for months and months, and the imaginary victims, they claim are ‘deceived by BCH,’ but whom they can never point to, are just a few. These are evil, evil acts and they should be brought to light, especially when their perpetrators are constantly pretending they have some kind of moral high ground. Maybe more importantly, as Roger himself as said, the propaganda and censorship was effective. BTC became a cult, and if we want to prevent that from happening in BCH, speaking out fast and effectively will be one step to doing so. BC: Your advocacy has bloomed to starting an online Institute. It’s attracted at least one of the founders of the original idea. In fact, he’s left (or was booted), and has said he intends to collab with you. You’ve described it as a fork. What are your hopes for the Nakamoto Studies Institute? DM: A lot of the lies in the Bitcoin world today can be addressed by returning to Satoshi’s writings. I want to create the world’s best archive of his writings so that you can easily search them by keyword.

For example, if you want to find Satoshi discussing Moore’s Law (he does) or ‘micropayments’ (he does that too), you’ll be able to click a link and find all the times he mentioned those terms. I think that’s powerful intellectual ammo for people who want to defend themselves against Core propaganda and who want to push the development of Bitcoin in the right direction.

Satoshi is not God, of course, but nor are the Core developers (they seem to have forgotten that). Satoshi’s writings are a good reminder to the world of that fact. It’s a good check against the 1984-style rewriting of Bitcoin’s history they’ve been attempting recently.
