———————————————————————
It’s been a few clicks since the two men left you alone.
you were laying on your back, eyes closed listening to the calm hums of the ship’s engines. You felt calm, relaxed...
“So..are you like..a blaster slinger?”
A voice snaps you out of your resting mind, you open your eyes to see Omega sitting beside you with a smile on her face. Both of the men had insisted Omega would leave with them, but she was stubborn and told them she would be ‘keeping an eye on you’ if you try doing anything.
You sit up slowly facing her, trying not to hurt your stomach again in the process. So much for ‘keeping an eye on you’, all Omega has been doing is just asking you questions.
You smile softly at her and she smiles back. You know she’s just curious, she sees no harm about it. Her curiosity makes you chuckle.
“What makes you think that pumpkin?” You said to her, your southern accent rolls off your tongue like butterscotch pie.
“Well first off, you used two blasters and you're REALLY fast with them..Oh! You also wear a Cowboy hat too! Oh oh!! AND you have-“ You can’t help but laugh at Omegas rambling, you almost miss the door slides open then closed.
“Ah, you're awake.” You turn to the new voice, only to find Tech. He was looking down and quickly typing away in his datapad, he puts it away and looked at you.
You were kind of surprised to see him here but you felt more comfortable seeing a familiar face. Tech had a small smile on his face, his eyes looked you up and down making sure you were okay.
“How are you feeling…”
“[ Y/n ]”
“[ Y/n ], how are you feeling?”
“I feel okay..my head is throbbin a little bit.” You bring your hand up to your neck and rub it, feeling a bit of sore pain on it.
“Hm..and how are you mentally?” Tech asks you as he starts typing away at his datapad again.
“I guess..” You pause, trying to work your gears in your brain. But the only thing that keeps coming back to your mind was..Michael.
You must have been quiet for a long time because Tech had completely stopped typing and put away his datapad. He probably took your silence as an answer, he knew you didn’t want to talk about it. Not now, at least. Tech clears his throat, getting your attention again.
“Omega, can you leave and give us some privacy. I still need to run some more tests to make sure [ Y/n ] is healing correctly.” Tech asked, Omega sighs in frustration.
“Do I have to? I was just about to ask more questions!” Omega said, whining at Tech.
“It’s okay pumpkin, after this I promise I'll answer every question you ask” You said, catching Omega and Tech’s attention. Omega smiles brightly and mumbles a ‘okay’ before walking out.
As you watch her leave, you can help but feel Tech's eyes on you. You glance over at him, a small smile forms on your face.
“She’s a sweet kid..” You said to him, softly crossing your arms. Tech turned away from you and continued typing away in his datapad.
“She’s very fond of you.” Tech said, looking up back at you. He walked closer to you as he continued typing. “Now, Let’s check your vital signs, okay?”
You gave Tech a nod and he began to give you a checkup. After a few clicks, Tech had fully checked your vital signs. Lungs, heart, blood, and vision. Everything was perfectly in good health. Tech was typing away at his datapad when suddenly the door opened and Omega walked back in.
“Tech, it’s chow time!”
Tech looked up from his datapad at Omega in a bit of a surprise. “Already? Hm…I must have lost track of time..” Tech puts away his datapad “well, we are finished anyway. And I am assuming you are hungry, yes?”
“You read my mind, Tech.”
It took you a few clicks to stand on your own without Omega or Techs help, but luckily you got the hang of it being back on your feet.
Tech had started leading both you and Omega to the cockpit, Tech was walking in front of you while Omega walked beside you.
You glance down at Omega, she was already looking back up at you. Omega was smiling brightly at you, and you smiled back at her. Omega had leaned close and started to whisper to you, making sure Tech would not hear.
“You know, Tech has been working hard to keep you alive.” Omega whispered.
“Really?” Your eyes widened a bit at her words, your eyes glanced up to Tech. His back was still facing you, his eyes were glued to his datapad.
“Yup, even Echo helped him!” Omega said to you as she looked back forward. You looked back down at her with a confused look.
“..Who’s Echo?”
“You’ll see!”
After a few clicks of walking you, Tech, and Omega made it to the cockpit. When you entered, you weren’t really surprised to see the two same men from before. But what really surprised you were the two other new faces.
The big and obvious one was a huge guy, he was tall and had a big scar on the right side of his face making his right eye blind. The other was a skinny white hair man. He also had a tattoo of a Crosshair over his left eye.
The scar eye big guy was the first person to notice all of you guys. He smiled big at Tech and Omega, rushing over to both of them.
“Finally, You guys are here!” His voice was loud and booming. “Come on and sit down already, I’m starving!” The big guy said as he handed both Tech and Omega a package, which you can only assume was food. That's when the big guy notices you standing right behind Tech and Omega..
His happy and joyful expression fades away, his eyebrows frown into an angry expression. The big guy quickly grabs both Tech and Omega, protecting them from you.
This action caught the other men’s attention, Tech and Omega both looking surprised at the big guy’s actions. Soon you were surrounded by the Rebels. The tension in the room was thick, so thick you can cut it with a knife.
Tech was trying to reason with them but was quickly cut off by Omega, forcing her away from the group. Omega looked at you with a worried expression before she faced the group.
“Stop!”
Omega’s voice rang out through the ship, the attention of the group was now on her. Her expression changed from worried to angry.
“She hasn’t done anything!” Omega said, the long hair man with the red bandana from before was the first to speak out.
“Omega you can’t trust her, you have no idea what she can do to you!”
Ouch.
Omega sighs and glances up at you, you give her a reassuring nod before she looks back up at the group.
“Let’s just restart,” Omega said as she smiled and turned to you.
“[ Y/n ], this is Wrecker, Hunter, Echo, Tech, and Crosshair!” Omega gestured to the group, with in response they just stared at you. Their expressions were angry and annoyed.
“We are the Bad batch!”
Omega then turned back to her squad and gave you a gesture. “Guys, this is [ Y/n ]!” This time, it was your turn to glare at them.
“Howdy fellas..I reckon we met before..” you cross your arms as you give them a little nod. The room went silent, so silent you can only hear the soft hums of the ship. Their eyes glared at you while you glared back at them.
Tech was the first to speak, he clears his throat before talking.
“Well [ Y/n ] here, just woke up…I was hoping she could eat something before she goes back to bed resting..” Tech said as he glanced around at the group before speaking again. “[ Y/n ] why don’t you sit down, you are still healing and shouldn't stand too long.”
You took his offer and sat down at one of the passenger seats, carefully making sure you didn't make a wrong move that would end up with a blaster bolt in your head…
“Omega, would you mind getting [ Y/n ] some food?” Tech asked. Omega looked at you with a worried expression, she was hesitant to leave you alone with them.
“It’s okay pumpkin..I can take care of myself..” you whispered to her softly with a small reassuring smile on your face, Omega nodded at you before walking out of the cockpit to the back.
You watched her leave, feeling the burning glares at the back of your head. Your smile fades away as you look back at the squad. They all looked so angry, except for Tech of course. You close your eyes, sighing before opening your eyes again and looking back at them.
“I’m assuming you fellas have some questions..” you say as you cross your arms.
“We're on the same page, Good..Now start talking.” ‘Echo’ said to you with an angry, irritated tone in his voice.
“And if you don’t talk..well make you..” ‘Crosshair’ said while cleaning his blaster, giving you deathly eyes.
“Now now, fellas. If you want to question me, don’t be too rough, now. That’s not how you treat a lady.” You present a cocky attitude despite the circumstances you’re in as if these men won’t hesitate to put a blaster bolt in you the second you even look at them wrong.
Their eyes widened at your bold remark, this only makes you smile big and cocky. The first one to recover was Hunter.
“Why is the empire after the kid'' Hunter asked you, his voice filled with smoke and anger. His eyes were burning into your skull.
Your eyes widened shockingly, confused and angry. He thought you were with the empire.
Did they really think that about you?..
“Excuse me..?” You said quietly, standing up slowly from your seat. Crosshair was quick to point his blaster at up, his eyes narrowed down. At any click, he can just blast you right there. Hunter on the other hand stayed put, not moving from his position. His expression was still the same, angry, mad, and dark.
Your face scrunch up in anger, hands balling up into a tight fist.
“You think I work for the empire?!” You raised your voice at Hunter, angry was all you felt.
“Let’s calm down [ Y/N ]-“ Tech tried speaking but was cut off by you.
“I saved Omega from being captured by the empire, and you think I work for them?!” You shouted at Hunter, but he was unfazed by it.
"But why?"
Hunter still stared at you, but his tone had changed. There wasn't any anger or intensity in his voice or his gaze anymore. He was just looking at you now, waiting for you to answer his question.
“Why did you save her?”
Your eyes widened at Hunter's question and you froze, shocked , and speechless. You glanced at the ground, finding it more interesting than Hunter’s glaring eyes. You didn’t know what was the reason you saved her..maybe because you were growing soft or somethin..You then looked back up at the rest of the group.
“ I- “
Suddenly, the door behind you opened, cutting you off from talking. There, standing at the door was Omega. In her hand was a package and what you assumed was your rations.
“Is everything alright?” She asks you quietly, She looked confused and worried. She almost reminded you of you when you were..her..age..
Then it clicked,
you know exactly why you saved her.
“Well..Why did you save her, Bounty Hunter?” Wrecker asks you the same question again, making you glance back at Omega. She gave you a questionable look at Wrecker's question, but you only stared at her. You then look back at the ground, you stare at your hands as you thought.
Your eyebrows frown down in anger, looking back up at the group of men who were all staring down at you. You didn’t care, all you felt was anger as you stared at them for a moment before talking.
“Drop me off the nearest planet..” You said, calmly but your voice was still filled with anger.
Their eyes widened at you, except Hunter’s. You glanced your eyes at Tech’s, his eyes were sad but understanding. You turned away from them and walked towards the doors when suddenly Hunter asked you one more question..
“What does ‘3009’ mean to you?”
You stopped walking, completely. Your eyes were widened. Fear was slowly creeping through your chest, your breathing was getting heavier.
You slowly bring up your hand to the back of your neck, your fingers felt the rough and damaged markings that were left on your skin.
Those numbers meant nothing to you.
at least..
Not anymore
But how? How did they know?
You looked down at yourself, realizing you almost forgot one of these guys had changed you into these blacks…
You glance at Omega, her eyes were worried and concerned. You stare at her before you turn back to face them, you felt angry.
“That’s none of your business..” you said back.
“From what I see, it’s very much our business considering we've been working rotation just to keep you alive and those numbers are on the back of your neck.” Echo said as he crossed his arm over his other.
“Hunter, just let this go-“ Tech tried talking to Hunter, but was quickly cut off.
“Answer the damn question!”
Hunter yelled at you, before looking at the others to make sure they stayed out of this. Hunter took a step forward, closing in on you as he crossed his arms in front of you.
Your eyes went wide at his voice rising, glancing at Tech his eyes were filled with concerned. You glanced around one last time, the tension in the room got more thick, almost making you choke. You know you're running out of time. Either you tell the truth, or you die.
Your gaze went away from Hunter onto the ground, the bubble in your throat was getting bigger and bigger. It was getting harder to breathe.
And you just..caved in..
You mumble a quick sentence under your breath, it was so quiet no one could hear it. You could tell Hunter’s patience were running low by the way he was breathing.
“Speak up.”
Hunter narrowed his eyes at you, he could tell you said something but he couldn’t make it out.
Hunter took another step forward and grabbed your shoulder, He had a grip of iron and his eyes were burning into you. His voice was low and deadly when he spoke next.
“I didn’t hear you.”
Still looking down at the ground, you close your eyes to think. For a moment, you thought this was just a horrible dream. But the iron grip on your shoulder got tighter, forcing you to come back to your reality.
You opened your eyes and looked up at Hunter, your eyes pierced his in anger. You were at your limit, you couldn’t take this pressure any more.
“It’s my fucking slave number..!”
You snap at Hunter, shoving him away from you harshly. Hunter took a few steps back, his eyes were wide in shock.
Hunter stood, speechless, as well as the others and Omega stared at you. Omega let out a soft gasp from behind you, seeing how angry you are.
The room went silent…the only thing that was heard was the engine's calm hums and your loud breathing.
Standing there in silence before you close your eyes again and take a deep breath, you open them and look around the room before turning around and walking towards the door. You stop before walking out the room and spoke.
“Drop me off at the nearest planet. And you guys will never see me again…” you repeated again from before as you walked out the room back towards your room.
——————————————————
You were laying flat down on your cot, deep in your thoughts. You thought about Omega…
she was just like you…
then thought of Michael again..
Michael..
You loved him…so much..
And he made you believe he did too..
But he didn’t…
And It was just a lie you wanted to be real.
There was a soft knock at your door that snapped you out of your thinking, you glanced at the door for a moment. You look back at the medbay ceiling, not bothering to answer.
The medbay door opened then closed, soft footsteps were slowly walking towards you.
“[ Y/N ]…?”
You looked to the side of your cot, only to find Omega standing there. You glanced back up the ceiling before taking a deep breath. You slowly sat up and looked at her.
“What is it pumpkin..?” You ask her softly with a small smile, your voice was raw like you were crying for hours. Probably because you were…
“I got your clothes..” Omega then held up your clothes, each of them were neatly folded and clean. Your jacket, chaps, boots, bandana, hat, even your belt was fixed from the blaster bolt that had previously broken it. The only thing missing was your white button up shirt, they probably got rid of it because it was ruined by the blaster bolt and blood.
‘ How bad was it?… ‘ you thought.
“Your shirt was not salvageable..sorry..” Omega looked down at the floor in sadness and disappointed.
“No it’s okay Omega, thank you I appreciate it a lot.” You said back to her as you took the clothes off of her hands, she looked back up at you with a smile. You smiled back softly.
“I’ll see if there’s some old shirts around here you could wear!” Omega said excitedly as she quickly walked out the medbay not giving you time to stop her.
You sigh tiredly as you watch Omega leave, standing there in your thoughts again. You placed down your clothes on the cot, starting to take each clothing item off of one and other. When you took your hat and boots off, you noticed something in the middle of the folded clothes.
A satchel bag..
Michael’s satchel bag.
Your heart drops.
you backed away from the bag as you drop your hat and boots onto the floor.
How the hell did they get that?
You stand still, staring at the bag. Scared to make a move. The only thing you could hear was your pounding heart in your ears. You stare for another moment before taking a deep breath and closing your eyes, just like how Omega told you.
After you calmed down, you opened your eyes and looked back at the bag. You slowly walked closer, bringing your hands up to grab it. Your hands were shaking when you grab it, you stare at it before opening it slowly.
Inside the satchel were a few things. Ammo.., soaked cigars, a lighter, some credits, a datapad-
A Datapad!?
You quickly grab the datapad from the bag and turn it on. You start to scroll through every message on it, hoping there would be an answer to your questions.
But nothing came up…
you ran into a dead end.
You sigh in defeat and frustration, there was nothing to tell you how the empire even contacted Michael..
But..
There was something else on the datapad.
A video.
Dreadfulness started to creep through your chest, as you read the date when it was made. It was not a recent video that was made a couple of rotations ago, but almost a decade old.
Your finger hover over the play button as you hesitate to click on it. You stay frozen for a moment before pressing play and the holograms start playing.
The video starts first with a forest scenery, the only sound that was heard was the singing of birds and the ocean nearby.
Suddenly but slowly, the camera moves to the left. Now the person holding on the camera was now facing a big and beautiful ocean with the most prettiest sunset ever made by Maker.
“What are you doing [ Y/N ]?”
Your heart stopped at the sudden but familiar voice that called out to you.
“I’m recording.” Your voice from the video responded to the other voice.
“Why?”
“Well..I thought I could record this moment since this will probably be the last time we see this sunset and to have a peaceful night like this ever again.” The camera was now pointing at the grassy ground as you heard a sigh in defeat.
“Oh [ Y/N ]…”
There was a moment of silence before you heard your voice spoken again.
“I like the way you kiss me Michael..”
Your heart dropped and your breathing became heavy. You quickly drop the datapad on your cot and step back away from it. Putting one hand on your chest and the other on your hip. You stand there trying to calm yourself down, but no matter how much you try to slow your breathing it just gets worse.
He used you.
Made you do things you didn’t want to do.
Stole.
Destroy.
He forced you to kill innocent people.
And you did it without hesitation.
…
You…
You.
You.
……
You are a horrible person.
“I love you so much [ Y-“
You quickly stopped the video from playing any longer. You rest both of your hands on the cot leaning against it with your head down.
‘This can’t be happening..’ you thought in your mind.
‘I- I can’t…I can’t do-‘
“[ Y/N ]?”
You let out a silent yelp, quickly turn around to the sudden voice in the room.
‘When the hell did someone walk in?’
There, standing in the doorway was none other then..
Tech.
He had a straight face, but his eyes had a spark of concern. In his hands was a neatly folded fabric, most likely the shirt Omega was supposed to give you.
“Tech?” You said trying to have a straight and calm face. You looked behind Tech, trying to find Omega. But, she is nowhere to be seen.
“Uh where’s-“
“Hunter thought it would be ‘safer’ for Omega to stay with the others. But fear not, I will pass you the garment.” Tech answered as if he read your mind, he then hands you the neatly folded tank top.
“It should be your size.”
You hold the tank top, it was a brownish black that was a little faded. You then looked back up at Tech with your best smile you can give, but it was forced. It was clear you were distressed.
“Thank you, I really appreciate it Tech.” You said back, looking back down at the tank top.
“You’re welcome.” Tech stands there for a moment, not very long but long enough for you to notice. You then looked back at Tech.
He was staring at you, deep in his thoughts. You gave him a questionable look.
“Is there something else?” You asked Tech
“Yes.”
Tech put one of his hands in his pocket, pulling out what looks like your Comlink. Tech then hands it to you.
“Your old one broke when you fell down the hill, I thought I'd fix it for you.” You glanced at your comlink then back at Tech.
“I connected our comlinks too, just in case you need help.” Tech gave you a small smile.
“Thank you,” Your eyes softened, staring right back at his dark brown eyes.
“It really means a lot to me Tech.” You softly smiled back at him too.
“Of course.” Tech turns around, walking toward the door.
“We're arriving soon, I’ll come and get you when were about to land.” And with that he leaves the room, letting the door slide closed.
You place down your comlink and your new shirt and stare at it for a moment.
….
You should probably get ready, you have a long trip to go.
You sigh restlessly before peeling off your blacks shirt, dropping it to the floor as it was fully off. You then stretch your arms, feeling the weight of the big clothing being lifted off of you.
But when you try stretching your arms up over your head you can’t help but feel a tight pull on your lower stomach.
‘The hell?’ You looked down at your stomach to find the source of the pull. To your surprise, you only found some stitches on your lower stomach.
‘Ah right, I totally forgot the whole being shot thing..’ You said in your mind, placing a hand not directly on the stitches but a little bit on the side of it. Pressing a little pressure on it, feeling the soreness around it.
‘Yeah, definitely going to slow me down for a while..’ Sighing in defeat, you start getting dressed.
—————————————————————
It’s been a few clicks since Tech left you alone, you were sitting on the medbay cot putting on your boots. Almost done getting dressed, all you needed was your jacket and hat on. You tap the heel of your boots on the floor, making sure it was on all the way.
Standing from the cot, feeling satisfied by how the boots felt on your foot. Grabbing your jacket and sliding it on, when something falls from the inside of your jacket. Your yellow bandana.
You pick it up from the floor, feeling the rough texture on your hands. You notice there was a little permanent orange brown stain on it, it was probably from your bloody nose when you landed on your face…
You shrugged at the stain, not being bothered by it and tied it around your arm with your teeth and hand. And finally, you were done. You were honestly surprised that nothing else was damaged, well..except your belt that was torn apart from the blaster bolt you were shot with. But luckily it was fixed and sewn back together.
Smiling slightly as you padded down your jacket, smoothing out any wrinkles, it felt good to be back on your feet.
You started putting everything back in the satchel bag, double checking you have everything you needed in there. That’s when the med door slides opened.
You turn around and see Tech walking in the med room with his eyes attached to his datapad, and behind him was Crosshair. You were confused on why Crosshair was there, so you gave both of them a questionable look.
“[ Y/N ], we’re about to land in a few clicks.” Tech said to you, not looking up at you.
“That’s great Tech, but..why is he here?” You just started to Crosshair, and in response he narrowed his eyes on you. Almost giving you the death eye.
“Problem?” Crosshair replied to you, crossing his arms over each other. Before you could respond, Tech had cut you off.
“Echo thought it would be a good idea if Crosshair would escort you for the rest of the way before we landed. I hope that’s not a problem.” Tech said, now looking up at you.
“Which shouldn’t be a problem.” Crosshair said with a serious and monotone voice. Tech just sighs in frustration at Crosshair's attitude.
“No, it wouldn’t be a problem.”
“Good, well I should get going. I’ll see you in the cockpit.” And with that he left, leaving you with Crosshair who was still giving you the death eye.
“Hurry up, we don’t have all rotation.” Crosshair said, you quickly put your satchel over your shoulder and grabbed your hat, walking towards him. The sound of your spurs from your boots clinging against the ground echo through the room.
As you walked in front of him you were shove quickly from behind, Crosshair was pushing you to walk faster.
‘..Asshole’ you thought in your mind.
Soon you and Crosshair arrived in the Cockpit, Crosshair had walked you over to one of the passenger seats. Putting a hand on your shoulder and forcefully shoving you down to sit.
In response you glared at him, shoving your shoulder away from his hand. Crosshair just chuckled at you, sitting down right next to you.
“Buckle up doll, don’t want you to fall over.” Crosshair said to you with a smirk on his face as he put a toothpick in his mouth, you were about to open your mouth but stopped when he pulled out a sniper rifle and started to clean it.
Something about that rifle…it looked familiar…
Your deep thinking was cut off by Omega and a big fella named Wrecker if you recall. When Omega’s eyes find yours, she smiles at you brightly.
Omega was about to run over to you, but was stopped by Wrecker. She gave him a confused look, he just sigh sadly and softly guided her to sit next to him right across from you. Omega’s once bright smile was now gone, and now a sad expression. When her eyes returned to yours, you gave her a small smile reassuring her that it was okay.
The rest of the ride was quiet, the slight rocking of the ship slowly almost put you to slumber. That’s when a tap on the side of your thigh snaps you awake, glancing over what tapped you was Crosshair. His eyes glared at you, with an expression you weren’t sure what.
But something told you there was something he wanted to tell you…or maybe you're just overthinking…
So, the time came when the ship had successfully landed. Standing up from your seat, you check your bag double checking if you missed anything. That’s when Hunter, Echo, and Tech had walked out to the cockpit.
Tech stared at you before putting a hand out to you, gesturing that you walked with him. Walking beside him towards the door, Tech pressed a button on the panel beside it in the door lower down. Looking outside of the ship was a forest.
“There’s a village not too far from here.” Looking back at Tech as he continued talking.
“I believe this is goodbye.”
“I believe it is.” Turning, about to the door to walk out, when suddenly there was a pull on your arm. You looked down to find what pulled you back, only to find Omega, having her arm wrapped around yours.
“Omega!” Hunter shouted out in shock. Omega didn’t look up at you, she just held on to you like her life depended on it.
“Omega?” You softly put your hand on her shoulder.
“What’s wrong pumpkin..?” You ask her gently. Omega then softly looked up at you, losing her grip on you.
She stayed silent for a few seconds before replying.
“I don’t want you to go..”
Your eyes widened a bit, but then softened. You sigh sadly as you get down to her level, giving her a small smile.
“I’m sorry, but I have too.” you glance up at Hunter, he glanced at you too. That’s when Omega’s head turned towards Hunter. She stared at him with a sad and pleading expression. But he knew what she was asking, and he shook his head no.
“But why..? I like having you here..”Omega said, turning back towards you, sighing as you look down for a moment before looking back up at her.
“I’m afraid Hunter is right about me, Omega. I’m not safe to be around. I'm a wanted woman, and me being around you would just put you in more danger than you already are.”
Omega just continued to look up at you, still looking very sad. She knew what you were saying was true, she let go of you and crossed her arms.
You smiled at her slightly, standing up again from your squatting position. Softly putting your hand on Omega’s head, roughing her hair a bit before turning back at the boys.
“Thanks fellas, I really mean it. I don’t think I would still be standing here if it weren’t for you guys.” You said as giving them all a nod, turning around walking toward the ship’s exit before putting on your hat and glancing over your shoulder.
“Until we meet again.” And with that you walked off towards the forest, not knowing if there would be a tomorrow for you.
—————————————————————
It had been a few hours when you arrived at the village, walking down a dirt path passing by every Store stall there was. From what you could tell, this village was very popular in your opinion.
But being on a popular planet isn't very good for you right now, and by the looks of it your luck has run out.
Empire troopers. Lots of Empire troopers.
They were all over the place, either you were really close to the middle ring or the Empire just invaded this planet. Either way you need to take cover, being out in the open is not a good idea right now.
Looking around, you keep your head down, being unfamiliar with your surroundings you can’t seem to find any shelter you can take. No hotels, bars, or restaurants nearby from what you can see. That’s when your eyes find a man running a fruit stand.
Walking toward a fruit stand you see a middle aged man, he was somewhere between his 30-40 with brown hair with some gray hairs too.
“Excuse me, sir” The man stopped whatever he was doing and looked up at you.
“Can you by chance point me to the nearest bar?” You said keeping your head down, not making eye contact with him.
“Sorry miss, I don’t say anything for free..” The man said as he went back to whatever he was doing before. Sighing tiredly, you pull out three credits from your satchel and grab an apple that was sitting in front of you.
This action got the attention of the man again, you tossed the three credits at him and he quickly caught them. He stared at them for a moment before looking back at you in silence.
“Go straight, take a left and keep walking straight. Listen for the music that’s playing.” The man said as he put the three credits in his pocket.
“Thank you kindly.” You said, putting your new fresh apple in your satchel. You then tip your hat at him and turn to follow his directions. As you walk away you can’t help but feel eyes staring at the back of your head.
Continuing walking down the path you were told to take, you started to hear music from a distance. The music sounded like jazz from what you hear. Walking closer to the music you see the bar.
The sign on top of the bar reads
‘Fishes Nets Bar’
You open the door and walk in, finally hear the music that was playing.
“I don’t want to see tomorrow, unless I see it with you..~”
The music was loud enough to the point no one heard you walk in. The sound of your spars quietly clink against the wooden floors as you walk towards the bar.
You sat down, not lifting your gaze up. That’s when the bartender walked over to you.
“Excuse me, Miss.”
You looked up to the bartender’s voice. The bartender looked about 18-19, with blonde hair and green eyes. He was giving you a smile as he cleans a cup with a rag.
“What would you like?”
“Whiskey, make it a double.” You said, fishing some credits out of your satchel and placing them on the bar table.
“Whiskey? You sure Miss? Women here usually order fruity cocktails, why don’t I get you one since women like you can’t hold their liquor.” The boy chuckled at you, all you did was lift your hat back and make eye contact with him.
Your red eyes stared back his green ones, his eyes wide as he found your blood red ones and your white hair.
“O-one double whiskey coming right up ma’am..” the boy said taking the cup he was cleaning and placing it in front of you, he then poured the Whiskey in the cup.
“Let me know if you need anything else ma’am..” he then walked away and left you alone. Gently you grab the cup and swirl it around a bit before drinking it.
The liquid burns your throat as you swallow, and oh how you miss that feeling. You put the cup down on the counter, saving some of the liquid when you wanted to drink again. You sat there quietly, thinking in your thoughts.
You need a plan.
Thinking over how you could get off this planet when the door or the bar swung open and multiple foot steps were heard walking in. The music was then paused and you heard a voice.
“This bar is now being searched by the empire, among you citizens is a criminal that is wanted by the empire.” The voice was muffled by a helmet, when you turned to quickly glance over at the voice there were troopers everywhere.
You calmly turned your head back around to stare at your drink. That’s when you heard another person walk in.
“You said they walked in here?”
“Yes,” A familiar man’s voice said as he paused, it seemed like he was searching the room and what you assumed landed on you.
“It’s her, I saw her wanted poster!” The man’s voice said to the trooper.
‘Shit..’

KimChay reconciliation and a bit of Porsche & Chay
Let me know what ya think. First time writing for this fandom, Kim may be a bit OOC, but I tried.
--
The garden had darken under the fall of the sun, stars climbing over the horizon as the moon stays hidden. The gorgeous bright almost neon colors in a sea of pastel that is normally seen at all times in this new life of violence and retribution, revenge and agony, of the mystery if a puzzle will finally provide the details hidden in the message when the puzzle will be solved.
Only to find that the puzzle solved is only a piece of a much larger scale.
The green foliage of the shrubs that surround the compound is a vivid reminder that even though the ones he loves are alive doesn't mean that they are safe. Drops, much like his own tears at one time, fall from the leaves and absorb into the soil to fuel growth, and even help the seedlings that have yet to sprout.
He can't help but think of himself, falling for so long and hard after a brief time of warmth in a struggle of fending off the cold, and seeing the small things to get through until the next day.
Now, even the white posts that hold the small gazebo, he can only see as gray.
And the ceiling that he would normally see as maybe a dark brown, is as black as the sky is right now.
His head hangs back, neck burning at the angle as he tries to reach the railing to rest on but unable to, instead he feels chill of water droplets hitting his forehead.
Flinching at first, as the uncomfortable feeling of dry to wet, of warm to cold shocks his skin, he calms, the different spectrums becoming soothing.
"If you want to get wet, I'll sneak you over to the pool."
His eyes open to see the border between the sky and the wood of the shelter ceiling, not remembering when he shut them in the first place. Raising his head until meeting the almost guilt wrecked gaze of his brother, but he doesn't speak, just turns his head back down, hands already twisting in his lap and brushing his own calluses on his finger tips.
Rough but gentle hands brushing over his shoulders, skin barely touching skin that sent goosebumps down his arms and ricocheting back into his heart that gave him the courage to speak up, and release the bound feelings inside.
"Chay."
His brother calls again, and still doesn't answer. He shifts until is back is against one of the corners, but his front still staying facing the entrance. Something that he has felt the need to do as of recent, startled several times already with the guards coming up behind him. He feels safer seeing the way in, and exactly who is standing there.
He tucks is legs up on the bench, one leg bending to lean against the railing while the other stays tucked under, hands gripping that leg in an act of self comfort.
"Chay."
He swallows, knowing that this is a conversation has to happen, no matter how much he wants to avoid the nerves, "What?" Where is his courage to battle through those nerves like last time.
Porsche sits next to him, and with his brother being for more proficient at keeping them safe he turns his gaze to his hands, feeling the weird soft material that the oldest brother of the mafia sons had procured for him.
He heard his brother sigh, and the near choking feeling climbs and builds in his throat, but he's so tired of crying, of seeming weak. Another hand hovers over his, then pulls away.
"I know we haven't talked in a while, with everything going on, I just thought that you need time to…let everything settle."
He nods, that was one way of putting it.
"You've changed, Chay. These spontaneous decisions aren't you."
"And what if they are?" he challenges back, softly, barely a whisper between them.
A small smile appears unbidden on his brother's face, "Because I know you. I've seen you angry, happy, sad, nervous, and even petty. I've practically raised you, but you're acting like -- " he sucked in a breath, "Who hurt you, Chay?"
"Does it matter?"
"Yes, tell me their name and I'll go take care of them."
He could, but there was only two, and for once he's tired of holding back the hurt. "You can't take care of yourself."
Porsche flinches back.
"I understand why, I really do, but you couldn't tell me the truth? At least hinted that what you were involved with wasn't legal?" he quickly wipes away the single tear that had escaped, sniffling.
"I didn't think you'd approved."
"Obviously, I didn't matter -- " snapping his mouth shut, the frustration voicing his darker thoughts.
Porsche's voice pitched as he spoke, "You are the reason I took this, our money problems are no more and even if I declined on my death bed, I'm pretty sure we would've been here anyway."
He chokes out a laugh, barely making it past the lump in his throat that still remains there.
Porsche observes him for a moment before nodding along, though concern still evident. "At least you're feeling something."
The corner of his lips tucked up slightly, at least one of them can still see the bright side.
"Who else?"
If there is one thing Chay knows of himself, he can't lie, not to Porsche, no matter how much he really wants to. "Nothing worth your time."
"You're worth everything." he replies. "When everything started to go down before the coup, I thought of taking you and running, escaping while there was still a chance. Then just like that, answers started come, secrets being revealed, and the amount of a hassle there had been of someone trying to keep everything hidden."
"I don't think Kinn," and Kim, he wants to believe, "wouldn't try to follow if we tried."
"And about a dozen bodyguards." Porsche agreed. "I just want you safe, that's all."
He rolls his eyes, "I know."
Porsche opens his arms, inviting the younger for a hug, and this time Chay doesn't deny the embrace hiding his face into his brother's shoulder. "I haven't forgotten that you hadn't revealed a name, but…I'll wait until you're ready."
Nodding back, and seeing the garden around them makes him feel a little lighter.
"Come back to the party when you're ready. I'll keep them distracted for as long as I can."
With one final look, Chay turned his back, refusing to witness Porsche leaving.
His heart felt a little lighter, being able to get through that without the yelling he fearfully expected, for a moment thinking that his brother found out about his outings, and how he'd been followed home, and by who.
The feeling of being watched, eyes penetrating into his back, and he could only think of one single person who would genuinely be watching over him, and that person just left. His heart thumps thinking that it could be the other person, the same person that keeps an eye on him for some reason other than a duty.
"I don't know why you continue to follow me when you've never cared!" he shouts, the accusation on his tongue tingling, taking a breath to release another statement.
"I never said I didn't care." a mellow-toned voice whispers.
Chay whips around, "Then what was with the apology?" the anger that had surfaced immediately dropped back down at seeing the cold, frigid eyes that gazed back. "Kim?"
"Chay, I -- " his gaze turned away, jaw clenching, his hands though hidden in the pockets of that leather jacket, could still be seen forming into fists. He leaned back on his heel, already twisting to walk away.
"Why should I stay, when you won't?"
Kim is forced to pause at that question, his body a quarter of the way twisted back to exit the structure, slowly he met Chay's gaze over his shoulder. "Would you have? If you knew?"
"I don't know." incredulous at the question, but hopeful, "Not like you gave me a choice!" He suddenly stood, finding more strength than he had all week, and nearly stood toe to toe in front of Kim. "I can see why you wouldn't answer any question in the vicinity of this place, from what very little I could figure out, but why hurt me?"
Kim didn't move, just stated straight into the doe-eyes that had haunted him, but at the very least no tears were shedding.
"Did you enjoy playing me like a fiddle? Enjoy that I had been so easy to get information out of? Enjoy--"
"Enjoy our time as if breathing sunlight?"
Chay blinked, "Then why hurt me?"
"Safer --"
"For who?!" he snapped, those frustrated tears threatening to re-run their course down his cheeks.
Kim barely stopped himself from reaching out, shifting so minutely that no-one could've noticed.
"For me? Or for yourself?"
Frustration and anxiety with a brush of hope shifted through Kim's veins, and he couldn't stop his next words, "I can't let my own father know of any weaknesses!"
The sheer vulnerability that reflected in his eyes, of regret, fear, and so much more made Chay's own emotions freeze, his hands rose scrubbing over his eyes, and he turned away, moving back toward the bench he'd been on to curl up as if he's a defenseless child.
Kim reached out, hand missing the fabric of his shirt to hold him there. Tamping down the panic that pierced his heart, as he witnesses Chay turn his back on him, to look out into the garden. A part of him knows that he should leave, and he realized that he's a coward, the beauty in front of him having so much courage for the both of them.
And maybe it could be enough.
Chay lets the tears roll into his sleeve, hearing the footsteps, so light as he's sure Kim is walking away.
"For both of us."
Stunned, the younger turns to give him his full attention, but stays silent.
"If my father knew about our connection he'd use that to tie me into this family again, he'd put your life in danger to get me to cooperate." He sits, turning his head to the garden, being unable to meet the inquisitive gaze just yet. "I knew early on that you didn't know anything, and even after trying to cut contact, you persisted."
"Alright, so attracted to stubbornness?"
"No." Kim glances back to see Chay, insecurities showing through as the younger's shoulders dropped. Panic of a different kind squeezed his heart as he struggled to say something. Than an idea came through the fog, "What do you see in the garden?"
Chay shrugs, "Bushes, foliage, might be some rose bushes." he sees colors, various ones, "What's that got to do with anything?"
"Humor me. What did you think initially?"
"It's calm, quiet, even without the sunlight or the moon, it's beautiful."
Kim, missed the exaggerated hand movements, that showed there was nothing that could be hurt him in those hands. "I see where cameras can be placed, I see places to hide, I see an open area with very few places to use as a barrier in case of another fight. I see things that could be used as a weapon, and even though we are a bit further from the main building, there are cameras that point in this direction."
"I -- "
"This is my world."
"Okay, I can see your point." he nodded, once, "How would keeping me in the dark protect me, if I don't know what I'm being protected from? If I'm in danger, I have a right to know that, so I can protect myself, so I know what to look for."
"I was hoping Porsche would take you and run." he mutters out, "I didn't know about your mother."
"But you knew something." Chay shakes his head, getting his thoughts back on the reason they're here, "What do you want?"
"Whatever you'll give me." his answer rushes out as he exhales.
Chay wants to go back to whatever they had on the base of lies, to go back to that comfort, but he knows that he needs to know Kim without the pretentions of an investigation. To know all sides of him, even the ones he tries to keep hidden. Memories flashed back to Hum's Bar floor, he's not exactly happy about the killing, but at the same time he's grateful, satisfied in a weird way of Kim's ability to protect him.
Kim, will deny to anyone else that he did not perk up at watching Chay unblock his number, a thrumming in his veins that gives in the urge to be able to reach him again.
"I'll let you know."
