actually i think the reason the tsunami is the best opening disaster is bc no other opening disaster has the same level of tension?????

#that shot at the end of 3x01 with all the water gone and buck's face as he realises what's about to happen????#phenOMENAL #the earthquake is amazing obviously but the danger doesn't really touch the 118 until hen goes missing and even then bobby and chim know sh #is alive and moving #the mudslide was boring sorry lmao #the blackout DID have tension and was really interesting until they ruined it with the copaganda plot #and the cruise disaster was great but a lot of ep 1 was played for humour and we didn't see a lot of the actual rescue which i think was a #shame even though i know logistically that would've been a nightmare to film #but the tSUNAMI #it's about the team not knowing buck and chris are in danger #and them being *so close* to crossing paths with them so many times and not realising #and this carries through the whole arc and it's So Good!!!!#god i haven't rewatched these eps in forever #911 rewatch

As someone who just consumed all 6 seasons of 911 in like a week and two days, I don't really have any meta things to say since I haven't sat down to think it through, but I gotta say, I think season 5 and season 6 felt very...mid. There were some great scenes and good arcs, but it felt less impressive than the other ones.

#earthquake and tsunami arcs are top 3 honestly #they were very memorable #oh and also that ep where buck felt super alone and tried to pull off this heavy thing off of a dude #and he's pulling and pulling and almost gives up but then the 118 shows up!!#that was iconic cinematography when they all grabbed the rope and helped him #that was very very good.#the cursed ep was hilarious too actually love it when the 118 has shenanigans #911 abc #911 fox #jina watches tv shows #the 118 #adding that maddie arc with fighting doug?? that was so intense and so good too

I'm calling it now -- Linda Bates is canonically allergic to bees. She's obviously not gonna be the only emergency but what if the ep 2/3 disaster with the bees (whatever it's gonna be) will make her have a near death experience, like with Sue in 5x11, just for the drama that it's someone they and we know. Imagine the Dispatch team and also Eddie who's worked with her and formed a workplace friendship with her for months fearing for her life not knowing if she's gonna make it. You heard it here first

#Wld love to hear abt everybody's muses abt this -- dont make me come into ur inbox abt it HSKFJD bc theres too many-#tag me in a sep post if u gotta but lemme hear it :eyes:#ooc;; mun barks #hc: head up in the clouds;;#hc: history #Cole has had many between his travels thru all his verses #Kid's seen a whole flock of sheep slaughtered by lightning on a stormy night while theyd been sheltering beneath a tree #Flash flood by a river - a gang member swept away by it - and the aftermath of elk that'd died in a sudden onset blizzard #he's been caught in a handful of Wild Fires that'd gotten out of control tbh #one having been created during a criminal dispute that ended up exploding into an altercation #somebody threw a molotov and the campfire found leeway to spread during the scuffling #i think he's also seen a lotta tornadoes as a kid but he's been good w finding shelter or dodging them #i dont think he's had any personal experience w tsunamis #Earthquakes have also been very minor - small - tbh i think he sleeps thru them #Monsoon floods and fire have been where he's been worried most; though funnily enough i think floods #Hold a higher concern for him in terms of being caught in these things--#Like he's a little more locked in and focused when it comes to fires -- getting caught in a flood has him more? 'uwu natural gas' that's still fossil fuels you halfwits #nuclear power plants are (more than) 100 times more waste-efficient than coal plants and 60 times more space efficient than wind #AND it doesn't require ruining virgin land for it since most nuclear plants are built on existing industrial developments #AND AND modern reactors have incredibly low operating costs #'buuh buut what about meltdown explosion danger please help everything i know about nuclear plants comes from pop culture???'#oh right like chernobyl. because 1970s soviet technology is totally 1-to-1 with modern installations #oh right like fukushima. that melted down because of a fucken massive earthquake and tsunami 1-2 punch that killed thousands #oh right like 3 mile island where nobody died #would you avoid getting on a ship because the titanic sank? would you never sit in the backseat of a car because of the ford pinto's rep?#im so sick and tired of fringe cases being held up as counterarguments by people who pretend to know better

something i feel like we don’t talk about nearly enough is the fact that percy is healed by water.

it’s so normal to us because it’s one of the first abilities we discovered he has. and it makes complete sense. but like… he’s the only demigod with that ability. jason doesn’t get healed by a gust of wind. hazel doesn’t get healed if she touches a diamond. nico doesn’t get healed if a skeleton gives him a hug. annabeth doesn’t get healed if she walks into a library.

like percy could be stabbed in the chest multiple times, he could break every bone in his body, he could be slammed in the head resulting in a crushed skull and hemorrhaging, but get him to some water fast enough and not only is he good as new in no time, but he’s stronger and freshly rejuvenated.

it’s insane when you think about it. no one else can do that. do you know how hard it is to kill percy? even if he’s not near the ocean, he can be healed by rivers and lakes and streams and ponds and all sorts of water sources. water recharges him. it makes him immediately stronger.

that’s a huge reason why i argue percy is the most powerful demigod. yes, he’s shown he has incredible super strength and super speed. yes, he’s a legendary sword fighter - arguably the best one alive. yes, he has control over air, land, and sea. (deadly hurricanes with heavy winds and thunder and lightning, huge volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, etc.) yes, he’s capable of mass destruction. yes he can single handedly cause natural disasters and mass casualties. and yes, he’s capable of controlling people’s bodily fluids, including their blood and saliva. he is terrifying

but even if someone manages to beat him, he dips one toe in some water and he’s immediately healed and even stronger than before. whether the injury is internal and external. he’s healed all on his own. no ambrosia or nectar or external remedies necessary.

guys. percy is insane. he’s way overpowered.

and i love it.
