A Darth and an extremely high level Imperial Agent interrupted each other's missions. This sounds like the beginning to a bad joke, but unfortunately, this was a case of 'intricate Force powers' meets 'a high caliber sniper's dead-on shot' and it did not end well for anybody, professionally.

When the smoke cleared, the Sith's precise and proper accent did not go along with what came out of his mouth. "By all the stars what... what did you do?"

Gold eyes wide with horror the Sith-not-Sith stared at the Agent - at his own body - in shock. "...Umbral."

"Mhh?"

"Umbral what did you do?" That was definitely his body. Frack, 'his' hands were covered in blood red gloves - Darth Umbral's gloves, he knew them well. Which meant-

"This is why," the Sith said darkly, "we don't interrupt Sith Rituals for any reason."

"We switched bodies?" My, he didn't know Umbral's voice could pitch that high.

And then something more urgent hit him, a sharp stinging in his sinuses that demanded attention. "H'hhh-"

"Oh. Inner pocket of the robe, over the heart," Umbral said quickly. "Get it."

Beginning to look hazy, Agent N still did as he was told and fished out a handkerchief. Eyes squinted in equal parts suspicion and rapidly mounting irritation, he was forced to bury his nose in the cloth with a sharp gasp. "Hnxxt! h'h... hhehHNCH! hnxxCHHIH!"

"That's not going to do it," Umbral warned.

"Wh- h'NxCHST!" the agent gave him a confused look, but he was set to another little fit of unsatisfying stifles before he could ask his question. One after the other, attempted reflexively to stifle, presumably as usual.

That was, of course, the problem. "Just sneeze, Agent. Stifling is making it worse."

"Th-that's nahh... aesSHHT!"

"Better," he remarked. "But you have to let it out. My body will accept no less."

It was interesting, watching himself roll his eyes. It was a wicked indulgence to step up to him and walk him backwards to a cracked pillar, taking him by the chin. "You have no choice."

"That's riiiih-ridiculous," Agent N growled.

"And yet." He hoped he had the sly, insufferable grin the Agent tended to give him. For now, however, one gloved finger trailed down the side of his nose, with just enough pressure to-

"h'nTSCHEEH!" He'd ducked his head, some strands of white hair coming loose. He barely lifted it after, just enough to attempt a glower with faintly watery eyes and nostrils that flared with each breath.

Umbral smiled smugly. "That can't have been enough."

"Frackin- ESSHHIESSH! By th-the stars, Umbral- HEYESSHEH!" He groaned, sniffling and shaking his head. "I have never heard you sneeze, what by your Chaos was that?"

"Irritation is easily 'healed' if you get it early enough." Umbral smiled toothily, wondering if the too-sharp smile would have any effect on the man who it belonged to.

"...you waste power just so you don't sneeze-"

"Fit," he reminded him, idly smoothing the robe out.

"Fit in public? That's what this is about? De- ESSHEH! decorum?" he demanded.

"Evading a fit is almost as good as watching one," Umbral said.

His eyes narrowed, a little smirk on his lips. "Oh so you liked that."

Umbral leaned in, still very much in his personal space with a little grin and hunger in his eyes. "What of it?"

For once, the Agent's wit failed him.

edit: might need to add some additional dialogue to this to make it more clear, but a clarification in the interim; he knows about his own footprints. he's just surprised to see something similar already there when he knows he's only just landed. he lifts his own shoe to confirm that they're not identical (and also to reveal this to the viewer). seems his stoicism beat off the clarity in this one, sorry 😭

Can we talk about how Karen definitely has some sort of PTSD because you can't just wake up one day with a knife and bloody hands and a dead coworker on your carpet one and then be fine. You don't get arrested and then almost strangled to death while in custody and be fine. You don't get kidnapped and threatened and then kill someone in self defense and be fine.

Oh my god can we PLEASE talk about Karen and her trauma oh my GOD.

No because I absolutely loved watching ed fight! For 2 seasons we never saw him fight, he was always making his crew do it, even when was in full kraken mode, he just fires one shot and stands back and let them do the rest.

While in 2x08 he was killing left, right and center! He casually took out two English soldiers, UNARMED and used their rifle to choke them out, in a little rowboat, then he choked and broke someone's neck with ONE fucking hand while holding and READING stedes love letter with the other! Then later, on the beach, he was fighting two soldiers, while two more were coming at him and you can see that he already took out NINE others (yes i went back and counted!) Also when he took someone's rifle and put it on their shoulder and shot someone else.. I can't.. He's a fucking menace! A hot fucking menace!

I just think it's neat he went around slaughtering the English like they're nothing after he hallucinated stede, the love of his life, yelling for help!

I’ve spent a lot of time over the years thinking about how felix and tamora are about pda. I think felix LOVES holding hands and kisses on the cheek and little pecks but he’s very polite and respectful and thinks anything else should remain private. and since tamora is so bad at letting her feelings show she’s generally anti-pda, and it takes her a while to get used to felix reaching for her hand and stuff. but then I think they do reach a point where they have settled into and embraced their feelings for one another where they just forget all the common sense they previously possessed and become absolutely unbearable to be around. just constantly forgetting that they are in public and everyone can see them. it’s like they’re physically incapable of leaving it at one kiss, it always turns into several kisses which very easily becomes making out before they’ve even realized it. and I DO like to imagine them doing that absolutely insufferable couple thing where they’re leaned in close talking to each other in soft voices about how much they like each other, completely nauseating, why did you even leave the house to do this just stay home

Hi, it's bird Edmond anon again and this is part 2. I apologise in advance for any mistakes and if this has been posted before and I hope you enjoy, also I love the picture of Eiden with the bird clan:

To say that the tension is thick is an understatement, it felt almost suffocating to Eiden and he hadn't even entered the mansion yet.

Right before he went to work, Edmond approached him in his room, his expression neutral but Eiden can see the fear and uncertainty that surrounded the vice-captain. He waited patiently for Edmond to approach him and listened attentively when he whispered to his ear before politely excusing himself.

"Go to my mansion tonight, my mother will greet you. I'm ready."

No elaboration was needed, Eiden knew exactly what Edmond was talking about. It was exciting and heartwarming at first, the sorcerer felt proud of Edmond for mustering up the courage to tell him that he's ready to reveal what he's been hiding for so long.

But now as he knocked on the large doors, he can't help but feel nervous. Whatever this secret is, it's enough to make Edmond's father give him an unexpected shovel talk just to see if he's worthy enough to know.

His train of thought screeched to a halt as the door opened and Eiden found himself face to face with an elegant looking older woman with light blue hair tied to a low bun wearing a dark grey gown with gold roses embroidered around the fabric. Her lower arms are covered with white silk gloves and in her hand seem to be a blue hand fan. The wrinkles on her face curve to accommodate her smile, her sapphire eyes shine with hope and gentleness. All the nerves seemed to wash away as Eiden found himself smiling back, "Hi there, you're Edmond's mother?"

"And you are the grand sorcerer I have heard so much about from my son. Please, come in and follow me." Edmond's mother said, her voice soft yet it somehow carries itself with the confidence of a lion. Eiden couldn't help but chuckle as he stepped in, "Edmond talks about me?"

"Oh, yes, but not without a bit of prompting." She giggled, covering her mouth with the hand fan as she walked beside him. "I must thank you for visiting our household at such an inconvenient time."

"It's alright, besides this thing is important to Edmond. He wouldn't ask this without a reason and if doing this would make him feel safe, then I'll stay awake for the whole night." Eiden reassured and the older woman gave a knowing smile in response as she says, "I doubt he would make you neglect sleep but your dedication is something to be admired."

As they traverse through the hallways, the sorcerer and the mistress of the household eventually found themselves in front of a steel door. It pushes open with a heavy creak and inside lay a wide room with a spiral staircase at the center.

"This is as far as I can go, my son is waiting at the top." Edmond's mother said, her eyes glassy with unshed tears as she fans herself, "Forgive me, I'm just... Happy. I'm so thankful that my son has met you sir Eiden."

Warmth blossomed in Eiden's chest at her words, her sincerity hitting straight into his heart. He couldn't stop himself from giving a wild grin back as he proclaims, "Well, I'm thankful to have met Edmond too."

She giggles softly once more, covering her face with her hand fan but the sorcerer did catch a few tears streaming down her face, "Now now, you should get going. Do not let me keep you here."

"Alright, thank you Madam. I'll be seeing Edmond now." Eiden said, giving a small bow for good measure before climbing up the staircase. It wasn't as far up as he thought but he definitely got a bit of a workout. Soon, he reached the top, the moonlight shining through the large window behind him, illuminating the door in front of him. Taking a deep breath, Eiden knocked on the door, "Edmond, it's me. Hope I didn't keep you waiting for too long."

He waited patiently and it didn't take long for the vice-captain to finally respond behind the door, "... You can come in Eiden."

Eiden carefully entered the room, walking up the remaining steps to see Edmond. The first thing that caught his attention was the high ceiling, painted with stars all around as a chandelier hangs from the center. Around it are various swings, rods and hoops hung up by chains and platforms around the walls, there was even a nest swing there! Below on the floor was a desk, a large window door that connects to a balcony outside, a bookshelf, a sword rack, a giant nest of blankets, mattresses and pillows and-

"Eiden?" Edmond called out as the sorcerer finally laid his eyes on the vice-captain, and anything he seemed to say afterwards landed on deaf ears. Edmond was wearing a simple sweater with pants but what caught Eiden's attention were the massive baby blue wings on his back and the matching feathers around the back of his ears. Behind him, Eiden can see a tail peeking out and instead of feet, there were dark grey talons in place. A million questions have gone through his head; what were those wings? Was Edmond secretly a yokai? How did he hid this from everyone? Is he even a yokai? Where did he hide those wings and tail? Were his feet always talons? This was his secret? That other side of him he kept away for all this time? It's-

"- Beautiful..." Eiden gasped out after a moment of speechlessness, his cheeks tinted red as he stares in awe at the regal beauty in front of him. Even amidst the sea of confusion, the first thing that surfaced up to him was how gorgeous Edmond looked.

The vice-captain himself stopped whatever he was saying to stare back, his face heating up to a vivid blush as his eyes widen with shock and bafflement, "Wh-what?"

"S-sorry, I just couldn't help it. You just looked so sexy." Eiden did his best to hold back his laugh as Edmond's face twist into an embarrassed and infuriated expression he knew well and loved as he reflectively yelled out, "Y-you..! You perverse, fraudulent, scoundrel of a sorcerer! I revealed my secret to you and that was the first thing you said?!"

"Well what did you want me to say? You want me to shout out or immediately ask questions? Well, I do have a lot of questions for you but-" Eiden smiled, hoping to put the vice-captain's mind at ease. "- I mean what I said, you're beautiful Edmond. Your wings and tail only add to your beauty."

"It doesn't? You... Like them?" Edmond gasped out and Eiden's heart breaks upon seeing the hope being withheld by fear, uncertainty and pain in Edmond's expression. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that this wasn't some minor secret the vice-captain was hiding, it was a part of his true self, his identity that he was forced to erase in his daily life. It reminded Eiden too much of those back in his world who are too afraid to come out or couldn't at all. How long had he been hiding? How long had he restrained himself? How did he go for so long burying that side of him?

"I wouldn't say that this isn't a shock." Eiden admits, sincerity weaving into his words as he opened his arms, "And it will take some time to adjust to all this but Edmond, this doesn't change how I see you. Wings or no wings, I still love you and if this is who you truly are, then I will love every part of you. You're still the vice-captain I've known and that hasn't changed one bit."

He watched as Edmond's wings quivered behind him as the blue haired man hesitantly stepped forward before finally rushing into his arms, hugging him tight, his body shaking with relief from as the huge burden he had been carrying for so long finally slipped from his shoulders. Eiden hugged back, mindful of the wings as he says, "You're so strong Edmond, I can't imagine having to hide for that long, I would have gone crazy if I did. But you don't have to hide from me anymore."

Edmond let out a quiet sob, every speech and answer he had prepared prior before was now gone in his mind. All he could feel was relief and the love that Eiden was giving. After a while, he finally pulled away, wiping away his tears as he glanced away, "Apologies... I did not mean to cry like that..."

"Hey, it's alright. Sometimes you just gotta let it out, and I can tell that you've needed that for a while." Eiden reassured, cupping Edmond's cheek so that they can come face to face. "It must have been difficult, huh?"

"Yes, it was..." Edmond nodded and to his surprise, it felt so... Freeing to be able to talk about how he felt, "Sometimes, I felt the need to reach for the skies, but I always had to bury such indulgences."

"Well, if you ever have those indulgences, then come to me. I'll find a place where you can fly as much as you want. I promise." Eiden declared, smirking proudly as he watched Edmond's cheeks dust red once more before he too blushed when the vice-captain closed the gap between them with a kiss. It was as sweet as it was before when they kissed except it felt fuller, more complete. This was Edmond, all of him and Eiden was more than happy to cherish every bit of him.

He didn't know how long they were locked in such passionate love, nor did he care to stop, that was until a sharp chirp snapped them out of their little make out session. Startled out of their stupor, they both turned towards Edmond's father who was standing right in front of them, giving a disapproving stare.

"As grateful as I am to see that everything went well, I am not having grandkids until the young sorcerer learns the eggs and the beaks." Edmond's father sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose as Edmond's feathers bristled and he squawked indignantly, "F-Father! W-we were not- it's not like that!"

"Do not be ashamed Edmond, it's quite normal." Edmond's mother reassures gently before lightly smacking her husband's shoulder with her fan, "I told you it would be fine. You didn't need to check up on them."

"I know, I was only worried. But you were right again, as always." Edmond's father sighed once more yet he gives his wife a fond look as Eiden lets out a lopsided smile, "So I'm guessing that I pass the test?"

"You did, and I could not be more thankful that you did." Edmond's father nods as his wife tugs on his arm and waves, "We will leave you alone for now, you're free to ask as many questions as you need tomorrow Sir Eiden. However, I recommend you both rest, it is quite late. Goodnight sweetheart, goodnight Sir Eiden."

"Ah- mother wait-" Edmond called out in his flustered state as he watched his parents exit the room. As the sound of the door closing echoed across the tower, Eiden couldn't hold back anymore and laughed, even when Edmond started hitting his chest, "Sorry, sorry Edmond! It's just funny to me- your parents are amazing by the way."

Edmond paused in his assault at the mention of his parents, blushing as he turned towards the stairway leading to the door before eventually nodding, "Yes, they are. I'm so thankful to have such caring parents, I would never trade them for anything."

"I'm glad, you deserve great parents." Eiden said before he yawned, rubbing his eyes, "Though I think we should take up on your mother's advice. I am tired."

"I can- Eiden!" Edmond yelped when Eiden pulled him down onto the nest, their bodies toppling into the soft pile. The brunette let out a content yawn as he cuddles with his lover, making sure that there's space for Edmond's wings, "Man this nest is comfy. Good night Edmond."

"Eiden- you-" Edmond sighs in defeat, cuddling back as his wings fold around them both before he shyly whispers, "Good night Eiden, and thank you..."

For the first time, Edmond slept with unshackled wings in Eiden's arms.

Self indulgent fics are what makes the world go round~ and you should TOTALLY go for it! Your choice of words is so... different to what I'm used to, and that's a good thing!! The descriptions are so, so on point and paints me a beautiful picture everytime!

And talking about pictures... Also I've just realised I've never mentioned that Remmy and Garren are actually my own renditions of the characters from Jonathon and Beth Ball's Crystaline Curse Trilogy Campaign. We've long since finished the trilogy series and moved onto continuing their story but I thought it right to mention their work in these characters and I'd defo recommend reading through some of their works if you're looking for prewritten short style campaigns.
